He checked her phone and got floored at the message: Please come tomorrow for another prenatal care checkup!
=============

Chapter 1 Ex-girlfriend Returns

Raegan Hayes was a little absent-minded at the moment.

All she could think of since this afternoon was the doctor's words. "Congratulations! You are going to be a mom."

Suddenly, Mitchel Dixon pinched her arm. His low voice came the next second. "Come back to earth. What are you thinking about?"

Mitchel was her husband. They had been married secretly for two years. He was her superior at work, the president of the Dixon Group.

Everything had happened so fast. She was newly employed in the company when they unexpectedly got married.

At that time, Mitchel's grandfather fell seriously ill. It was then he proposed a fake marriage just to fulfill his grandfather's dying wish.

They signed a prenup, agreeing to hide their marriage from the public. Their union could be terminated at any time.

It was an unconventional thing to do. However, Raegan only considered herself lucky at that time.

Never in a million years did she think she would ever get married to the man she had a crush on for eight years. She delightfully agreed.

After their marriage, Mitchel was very busy. He spent most of his time working.

Raegan wished she could spend more time with him at home. However, she was rest assured because there hadn't been any rumors or scandals about him with women in the past two years.

Except for his mild indifference, Mitchel was a perfect husband.

Raegan had mixed feelings as she stared at the medical report.

In the end, she decided to tell Mitchel this news.

She also wanted to tell him that she hadn't learned about him for the first time two years ago and that she had been crushing on him for many years before then.

Just then, Mitchel’s phone rang. He went to the balcony and answered the phone.

Raegan checked the time and found that it was already midnight.

She felt a little uneasy. Who would call Mitchel at this hour?

Mitchel spent a few minutes on the balcony. Thereafter, he returned and changed into formal attire. His handsome face which had a clear outline made him look dignified.

He was something to see now.

"Don't wait up for me. Good night," he said finally.

What? He was on his way out? At this hour?

Raegan's grip on the report tightened as she stared at him in disappointment. Unconsciously, she withdrew slightly. After thinking for a while, she blurted out, "It's already so late."

Mitchel's fingers froze on his tie. With a faint smile, he pinched her earlobe and said, "Be good, okay? There's something I have to do. Don't wait up."

With that, he headed for the door.

"Mitchel."

Raegan quickly ran and caught up with him.

Mitchel turned around and looked at her seriously.

"What's the matter?"

There was a tinge of coldness to his voice. An icy cloud hung over them as they stared at each other.

A little distressed, Raegan asked in a low voice, "I would like to visit my grandma tomorrow. Can you accompany me there?"

Her grandmother always wanted to see her. As a result, Raegan wanted to take Mitchel there to assure her grandma they were happy.

"Let's talk about it tomorrow, okay?" Without agreeing or declining, Mitchel left in a hurry.

Several thoughts were threading Raegan's mind. She couldn't sleep a wink.

After tossing and turning for a long time, she went to the kitchen and made herself a warm glass of milk.

A few notifications from some online blogs came into her phone.

However, she wasn't interested in them. She was about to swipe them away when one of them caught her attention. The familiar name made her click on it.

The news read, "Famous designer, Lauren Murray was spotted at the airport with her mysterious boyfriend earlier today."

Lauren was wearing a bucket hat. The man's figure was vague, but the outline of his body was enough to show that he was dashing.

Raegan zoomed in on the picture. The next second, her heart dropped.

Mitchel was the man in the picture!

So, he canceled the afternoon meeting just to go pick up his ex-girlfriend from the airport?

This realization settled like a boulder in Raegan's gut, rendering her flustered.

Her hands trembled. Subconsciously, she dialed Mitchel's number.

The dial tone brought her back to her senses. Just as she was about to hang up, the line connected, and a voice came from the other end.

"Hello!"

It was a particularly gentle woman's voice.

Raegan froze for a second and then threw the phone away.

She suddenly felt sick in her stomach. Covering her mouth, she ran into the bathroom and threw up in the toilet bowl.

The next morning, Raegan went to work on time.

Mitchel had tried to get her to stop working after they got married. Stubbornly, she insisted on making her own money.

Mitchel didn't kick against her decision, but he asked her to work as his assistant, helping him with the daily chores.

The head assistant, Matteo Jenkins was left to take care of the major affairs Mitchel had.

Matteo was the only Dixon Group employee who knew about their marriage.

Since inception, only male assistants were hired for the president's office. Reagan was the first and only female. Her employment broke the protocol. As a result, other workers couldn't help but wonder if she was involved with Mitchel.

It took a while before they realized that Mitchel never gave Raegan special treatment. Strangely, this made them despise her even more.

After all, no one would last long in anything while taking advantage of their looks.

At this time, one of Raegan's colleagues handed her a document and ordered her to take it to Mitchel's office.

Mitchel didn't return home last night. Raegan was so worried that she didn't sleep at all.

All she kept thinking about was the woman who answered his phone when she called. What was her relationship with Mitchel?

Raegan already knew the answer to that, but she was still in denial.

It was difficult for her to come to terms with that fact.

Raegan tried to remain calm now. She reasoned that no matter what happened, she deserved a result that would be rewarding for all the years she spent loving Mitchel. This couldn't be all for nothing, right?

She pressed the elevator button calmly and went up to the president's office. Before she walked out of the elevator, she smoothed her hair to make sure she looked good.

She had arrived at the office, only to see that the door was ajar. A man's voice came. She halted instantly.

"Come on, man! Do you have any feelings for Raegan or not?"

The voice belonged to Luis Stevens, a childhood friend of Mitchel's.

"What do you mean exactly?" Mitchel asked in a cold voice.

"You know exactly what I mean!" Luis clicked his tongue impatiently and added, "I think Raegan is a good girl. Isn't she your type?"

"Do you want me to hand her over to you?" Mitchel asked carelessly.

"You know what, forget it!"

The scornful laughter of Luis sounded particularly harsh in Raegan's ears.

They were talking about her as if she were an object.

Raegan took a deep breath and tightened her grip on the document.

Soon, Luis's voice was heard again.

"By the way, I saw the gossip news about Lauren's mysterious boyfriend this morning. That was you, right?"

"Yes."

"Well, well, well! That woman still has you wrapped around her little finger. You always want to please her."

Luis sighed and continued to tease Mitchel. "As the old saying goes, absence makes the heart grow fonder. Tell me, did you two..."

Their conversation was like a thunder exploding over Raegan's head.

Her face turned pale and her body was as cold as ice.

The woman was indeed Lauren!

Absence made the heart grow fonder!

Every word drove a knife into her heart.

Several whispering voices filled her head at this time. She suddenly felt light-headed. Her vision became blurry.

She held the wall and took a step backward. Suddenly, the door was opened from inside.

"Raegan?"

Chapter 2 One-sided Love

Luis was the one who opened the door. It appeared he was on his way out.

Raegan balled her hands, turned to him, and nodded. "Hey, Mr. Stevens!"

Without waiting for him to respond to her greeting, she walked past him and entered the office with the document.

Mitchel was seated behind a large luxurious desk. In an expensive suit and matching tie, he looked particularly handsome.

Raegan noticed it wasn't the same suit he had on when he left home last night. How did he get changed?

With her eyes lowered, she swallowed that question and said instead, "Mr. Dixon, this is from the Marketing Department. Please sign it."

Mitchel was expressionless as he signed the document at a glance.

Raegan walked out the door as soon as he handed the document back to her. Luis was still standing at the threshold.

It wasn't until she went out of sight that Luis turned to Mitchel and said in a hushed tone, "Do you think she heard us?"

Mitchel's appealing eyes were expressionless at the moment. Obviously, he wasn't paying attention to what Luis was saying.

To Mitchel, Raegan had always been docile and never felt jealous of anyone.

Her strict obedience was all Mitchel demanded from her in exchange for treating her well.

In the elevator.

Raegan held her breath just to hold back her tears. Unfortunately, it didn't work.

She had thought two years would be enough for Mitchel to realize how much she loved him and reciprocate her love.

Now, it turned out that was just a pipe dream.

She realized she would always play second fiddle to Lauren, Mitchel's true love.

Reagan wiped her tears when the elevator halted. Save for her pale face, she looked normal when the doors opened.

She dragged herself to the break room, intending to make herself a cup of tea.

Several employees were chatting inside.

"Guys, have you heard? Lauren Murray is back."

"And who is that?"

"Oh, my! You don't know her? Lauren is the heiress of the Murray Group as well as a world-class designer. Most importantly, she's the only girlfriend Mr. Dixon has ever shown off in public. She's his first love!"

"Why is her return such a big deal? Isn't it rumored that there is something between Mr. Dixon and Raegan?"

"Raegan? She's nothing to Mr. Dixon. Mr. Dixon never admitted that he was dating her. And that is no surprise to me. After all, look at her. She's not even that beautiful. Yet, she behaves as if she's already Mrs. Dixon. What a fool!"

Standing at the door, Raegan smiled with self-mockery as she listened to them. It turned out everyone else saw the truth except her.

The love was one-sided.

"Ha-ha, have you finally woken up from your wild dream, Raegan?"

A voice of mockery suddenly came from behind. Raegan turned around to see Tessa Lloyd, Mitchel's cousin, who had always despised her.

Tessa must have also heard the employees gossiping.

The last thing Raegan wanted to do now was argue with Tessa in the company. She turned to leave, but Tessa blocked her way.

With a cup of coffee in her hand, Tessa uttered sarcastically, "Lauren is back now. Do you think Mitchel will still give you any attention?"

Raegan said nothing to that.

Seconds later, Tessa continued the ridicule. "Maybe it’s time for you to seek out another man, you pathetic fool."

Raegan clenched her fists and said coldly, "Ms. Lloyd, if you are interested in that kind of thing, feel free to pursue it yourself."

"You..."

Raegan's retort made Tessa's face change.

The next second, Tessa raised her hand and emptied the cup of coffee on Raegan.

Raegan didn't think for a second that Tessa would do something so crazy. She held up her arms just to block the liquid from her face. In no time, the coffee drenched her clothes.

Raegan frowned. "What did you do that for? Are you out of your mind?"

It was lunch break and many employees were free to watch the drama. Tessa was even more complacent when she saw growing onlookers.

She put on a mean-girl look as she said, "What makes you so smug every day, huh? Do you seriously think that others don't know you are just an orphan? The nerve of..."

Tessa was silenced by Raegan’s shove.

Her jaw dropped to the floor. She had never expected that Raegan, who was so quiet and timid, would shove her.

Tessa stuttered, "You... You pushed me? How dare you!"

Raegan eyed her and replied, "Yes, I did! It seems you need to be taught simple politeness."

Indeed, she lost her parents when she was a child. But that didn't mean she would allow someone to walk over her for it.

Wrinkles appeared on Tessa's face as she frowned in anger. As Mitchel's cousin, she was used to being fawned over and respected. This was the first time she had been treated like this.

Tessa charged at Raegan like a raging bull, poised to retaliate.

This time, Raegan was fully prepared for what was coming. She grabbed Tessa's wrist so that the latter couldn't move another inch.

Tessa was shorter than Raegan. As a result, she struggled like an octopus that had one of its tentacles stuck in a fishing trap.

Tessa cursed angrily, "How dare you put your hands on me? Who do you think you are?"

These harsh words attracted more people to the break room.

"That's enough!"

Out of the blue, a baritone came from behind. Mitchel had left his office and ran into this hullabaloo.

The entire room fell silent.

"Mitchel?" Tessa's blood ran cold at the sight of Mitchel. She had always been scared of him. Her mother also warned her against provoking him.

But when she remembered that Raegan humiliated her, she put on a pitiful expression and sobbed. "Mitchel, she bullied me."

The sunlight from outside fell on Mitchel's handsome face.

Raegan felt so grieved all of a sudden, and lowered her head to look at her clothes which were soaked with coffee.

Their gaze met in the air. With a deep frown, Mitchel looked at Raegan and said, "Raegan, have you forgotten the rules of the company?"

His ruthlessness made Raegan's breathing cease. She couldn't believe her ears.

No one dared to make a sound at this moment.

Raegan just stood straight there with her slender figure.

When she got employed here, Mitchel had told her that the Dixon Group wasn't a place for her to mess around and that he would not tolerate her making any mistakes.

Raegan could understand why he took this stand.

However, at this moment, she was desperate to know whether Mitchel had heard those hard words Tessa scolded her or he was just pretending not to have heard because he agreed to those words.

Was she truly insignificant to him?

Scared to death by Mitchel's rage, the crowd soon dispersed. A few employees were bold enough to peep from a distance, unwilling to miss the good show.

Mitchel's cold eyes made Raegan shiver from head to toe.

Raegan pinched her palm to suppress her emotions as she looked at Tessa.

"I'm sorry, Ms. Lloyd. As an employee of the Dixon Group, it was wrong of me to have offended you."

Eyeing Raegan, Tessa raised her chin complacently. "Humph! Don't think you'll be let off the hook just by making a simple apology. I don't buy..."

"The offence has nothing to do with the company. Personally, I refuse to apologize to you. Now, if you'd excuse me," Raegan chimed in.

She then walked past Mitchel without sparing him another look.

"You..."

Tessa's face turned blue after hearing what Raegan said.

Never in her years of being alive had she been so humiliated. She was always the bully, not the victim!

The humiliation was so much that scolding Raegan wouldn't appease her anger.

Pointing in Raegan's direction, Tessa shouted, "Mitchel, did you hear what that woman just said? She humiliated me, yet she's still so arrogant. Call her back. I have to teach her some manners!"

Mitchel, staring at Raegan's thin back, had an ambiguous expression at this moment.

"Enough!" he said coldly, raising his hand.

As someone who lived and breathed drama and cruelty, Tessa didn't think Mitchel was partial to Raegan just now. She assumed that Mitchel didn't care about Raegan at all.

Tessa gritted her teeth and said viciously, "Next time, I'll get someone to teach her a lesson."

"Tessa!" Mitchel's tone and squint made it a reproof.

Tessa trembled at once.

With a somber face, Mitchel said, "I'll only say it once. Forget about what happened here today. Leave Raegan alone."

The aura he exuded made her tongue go dry. All the vicious ideas she had in store against Raegan disappeared in an instant.

She stammered, "Ok... Okay, got it..."

Mitchel cast a cold glance at her and spoke to Matteo. "Irrelevant people wouldn't be allowed in here from today onwards."

Without catching the drift, Tessa flattered Mitchel. "Nice call. This is a top company. Not everyone gains access in here."

Matteo nodded to Mitchel and then walked over to Tessa. He gestured to the exit. "Ms. Lloyd, this way, please."

It wasn't until this moment that Tessa realized that she was the irrelevant person Mitchel just mentioned. She tried to speak to him, but Matteo blocked her way. The security guards then escorted her out.

They showed her no mercy. Her struggle was useless.

Meanwhile, Raegan got changed when she returned to her office.

Her heart was filled with sadness as she thought of how Mitchel looked at her minutes ago.

Closing hour soon rolled by.

Raegan took her bag and headed for the exit. However, Matteo stopped her.

He said, "Mr. Dixon has something urgent to deal with, so he asked me to drive you home."

Raegan declined the ride without thinking twice.

She was blind before, but now she could see through the situation.

In Mitchel's eyes, she was just a nobody.

How could Mitchel agree to accompany her to visit her grandmother when he didn't even care about her?

Upon arriving at the hospital, Raegan saw that the nurse was about to feed her grandmother dinner. Raegan took the job over and did it by herself.

All her life, her grandmother had been living in the countryside, enjoying a quiet life. Everything changed last month when her routine medical checkup showed that she was in need of medical care. Raegan insisted on bringing her to the city for better treatment.

Her grandmother wasn't aware of her marriage to Mitchel.

Raegan had planned to surprise her today. But as it turned out, that was no longer necessary.

Raegan waited for her grandmother to fall asleep before she left. She walked out of the hospital and waited for a taxi.

In the distance, a black luxury car pulled into the entrance of the hospital.

Raegan's eyes lit up when she saw it. She recognized that car as Mitchel's.

Did he come to pick her up?

At this moment, she forgot all the pain she had been feeling.

Were her thoughts about him all wrong? Did he care for her, contrary to the gossip?

The door of the driver's side opened and Mitchel got out.

Raegan started walking toward him with her heart brimming with joy.

Suddenly, she stopped dead in her tracks.

Mitchel had just walked over to the other side and carried a woman out of the car.

Worry and compassion were written all over his handsome face.

This wiped the smile on Raegan's face. Her heart sank.

Chapter 3 Let's Divorce

Mitchel's tall and straight figure got closer and closer to Raegan. And then, without saying a word, he strode past Raegan.

It was hard to tell if Mitchel saw Raegan or just ignored her.

Regardless, Raegan noticed that the woman in his arms was the same one who had been photographed with him yesterday.

She was Lauren.

Raegan's shoes felt like they were made of lead as she walked away.

She lost all awareness of her surroundings. She got into a taxi absentmindedly.

Suddenly, the driver uttered, "Ma'am, where to?"

Raegan was stunned for a moment.

She didn't want to go back to Serenity Villas. It was only a matter of time before that place stopped being her home.

After a while, she replied, "Please take me to Crystal Bay."

She had purchased an apartment at Crystal Bay after getting married to Mitchel.

At the time, she had hopes of bringing her grandmother to the city, so she bought the apartment on mortgage. It wasn't that big, but it had more than enough space for two people.

Mitchel didn't understand why she wanted to buy an apartment. He offered to give her a bigger one, but she declined.

Looking back now, she realized that buying that apartment was the only wise decision she had ever made in the last two years.

When she arrived at the apartment complex, Raegan sat in the park alone, trying to cool herself down.

The memories of the past two years were bittersweet.

Two years had passed in the blink of an eye even though it was more than seven hundred days and nights.

Love could move mountains, they said.

Yet, her love didn't move that stone of a man. She finally realized what a fool she had been. She had been making herself a laughingstock in front of everyone.

It was already late in the night before Raegan finally decided to go into her apartment.

As soon as she stepped out of the elevator, she saw Mitchel standing in front of the door.

His sleeves were rolled up casually, and the top buttons of his shirt were undone, which revealed his long neck and part of his collarbone. He was leaning on the wall by the door, his handsome face straight.

Raegan froze for a moment.

Why was he here? Didn't she see him at the hospital with Lauren? What brought him here?

Their eyes met. With his coat draped over his arm and one of his hands in his pocket, Mitchel squinted at her.

"Why didn't you answer the phone?" he asked, sounding a little grumpy like someone who hadn't slept in a long time.

Raegan took out her phone and saw she had accidentally put it on DND.

There were five missed calls from Mitchel.

This marked the first time in their two-year marriage.

Mitchel blew up her phone because he couldn't find her? Surprising!

Before today, she would have been overjoyed by this. People would've thought she won the lottery.

But now, she just threw her phone back into her bag, folded her arms, and said in a hoarse voice, "I didn't hear it ring."

Mitchel raised his hand to check the time on the watch, and said impatiently, "I've been looking for you for two hours."

After arranging everything for Lauren, he returned home to find an empty house. He looked for Raegan everywhere. When he couldn't find her, he asked Matteo to check the surveillance footage of all the roads that led away from the company.

He later found out that Raegan went to Crystal Bay without telling him.

"Next time, tell me when you are coming here, okay? Let's go home now." After that, Mitchel walked toward the elevator without sparing her another glance.

He meant to go back to Serenity Villas.

Raegan didn't move an inch. She just stared at his broad back and pondered reluctantly.

Would they have a future?

Mitchell turned around, only to see that Raegan hadn't taken a single step. He frowned and asked, "Can't you walk? Do you want me to carry you instead?"

The light in the corridor illuminated his face, making his side profile almost impeccable.

Raegan took a deep breath and said, "Let's divorce."

"What do you mean?"

Mitchel's voice was cold, and his handsome face changed immediately.

"I want to move into my own place. After all, we will be strangers soon."

Raegan forced a smile, but her heart was aching as if someone was tearing it apart bit by bit.

"We will be strangers?"

Mitchel smiled coldly. "Raegan, what do you think our relationship is now?"

His questioning left Raegan stunned for a moment.

Mitchel had made it very clear to her from the very beginning. This facade of their marriage had happened by mutual agreement. There was no love. In the eyes of others, they were nothing more than just a superior and a subordinate.

Mitchel was quite the catch in Ardlens. Many young ladies longed for his love and were even willing to throw themselves at him.

His question just now reminded her of that fact. Was he afraid that she wouldn't let him go that easily? If that was the case, he couldn't be more wrong...

After biting her lower lip to conceal her bitterness, Raegan said, "I'm sorry, Mr. Dixon. I was giving it too much thought. Anyway, please leave me alone from now on. You don't have to come here again."

After saying that, Raegan couldn't help but burst into tears.

How could she not be sad when she was cutting ties with the man she had loved for a decade? It was such a long time.

Regardless of how difficult it was, she knew it was time to let go.

It was high time she stopped being a fool.

Strangely, the light in the corridor began flickering.

The deathly stare Mitchel was giving Raegan right now made the atmosphere seem like the moment before an attack in a horror movie.

Although he understood that Raegan sometimes could throw a tantrum, he felt that she had just crossed the line now.

His eyes shone like blazing torches at this moment. But when he saw the tears in her eyes, the rage inside him extinguished in an instant. He said in a low voice, "If this is about what happened between you and Tessa, I..."

"No, this isn't about her. Mr. Dixon, please leave now."

A lot of things happened between them. And the incident with Tessa didn't come close to any.

Raegan felt exhausted. She passed by Mitchel and was about to open the door.

Yet, Mitchel was displeased with her stubbornness.

He loosened his tie irritably. He then took a step forward and grabbed her wrist.

"Stop this, will you?"

A second later, he put his arm around her shoulder and pulled her into his arms.

He instantly realized that she was burning up like someone who had been set on fire.

"You have a fever?"

Raegan felt dizzy. She rested her head on his chest weakly.

This made the whole situation complicated.

Reagan was slow to catch that. When she finally realized that her body was too close to his, she put her hands against his chest and tried to pull back.

Before she could escape, Mitchel pulled her back and held her by the waist. With a cold face, he said in a low voice, "Where do you think you are going?"

The light flickered again. Out of the blue, Mitchel lifted her up.

He then headed for the elevator.

In a daze, Raegan asked softly, "What are you doing?"

"What does it look like I am doing?" Mitchel remarked. "Taking you to the hospital, of course."

"No way!" Raegan cried out in surprise and seemed to regain more strength.

Mitchel might find out about her condition if they went to the hospital.

Raegan struggled to get out of Mitchel's arms. However, his tight grip made her efforts fruitless.

"Don't be so stubborn. You are sick, so you must see the doctor," Mitchel said firmly.

He walked to the elevator with her in his arms. At this moment, Raegan's heart was thumping so hard that it could jump out of her chest. She flailed in protest.

"Put me down! I don't want to go to the hospital!"

&13& | LEARN_MORE | https://fbweb.moboreader.net/46526322-fb_contact-e | 105235075579900 | Funread | https://facebook.com/100083845110483 | 11,033 | 1 | 1,442,212,026,410,267 | 2024-04-28 02:00 | person_profile | eligible | 0 | 0 | NONE | 0 | 0 | 1 | 0 | Learn more | 0 | Funread | 120208089625360660 | fbweb.moboreader.net | NONE | video | https://fbweb.moboreader.net/46526322-fb_contact-enj57-1125-core1.html?adid={{ad.id}}&char=216543&accid=1910509592737470 | 2024-04-23 02:47 | https://scontent-lga3-1.xx.fbcdn.net/v/t39.35426-6/438081359_958741819298568_181292872209079885_n.jpg?stp=dst-jpg_s60x60&_nc_cat=102&ccb=1-7&_nc_sid=c53f8f&_nc_ohc=YnUNJ-9fhu0Q7kNvgGtAUNF&_nc_ht=scontent-lga3-1.xx&oh=00_AfDs015aA3cc67oxAPuDqy9X6MMeaYZcxKjy23UFrgRuqA&oe=66344858 | person_profile | 0 | moboreader | https://scontent-lga3-2.xx.fbcdn.net/v/t39.35426-6/437678724_1104654044079648_2296887028565697247_n.jpg?_nc_cat=107&ccb=1-7&_nc_sid=c53f8f&_nc_ohc=absavwkjSocQ7kNvgH6x-mt&_nc_ht=scontent-lga3-2.xx&oh=00_AfBCDwOwx1yEOQYEzwG_xqK9P0Wew4xMojOftPJx8gNjaw&oe=66344E11 | 0 | 3 | Funread | 0 | 0 | 2024-04-26 02:00 | View Edit Delete | |||||||||||||||||||||

Enjoy Romance🥰Read More 👉 | She signed the divorce papers and left without taking her phone. He checked her phone and got floored at the message: Please come tomorrow for another prenatal care checkup!
=============

&13& | LEARN_MORE | https://fbweb.moboreader.net/46526322-fb_contact-e | 105235075579900 | Funread | https://facebook.com/100083845110483 | 11,033 | 1 | 971,601,894,583,681 | 2024-04-28 02:00 | person_profile | eligible | 0 | 0 | NONE | 0 | 1 | 1 | 0 | Learn more | 0 | Funread | 120208159996550660 | fbweb.moboreader.net | NONE | image | https://fbweb.moboreader.net/46526322-fb_contact-enj57-1125-core1.html?adid={{ad.id}}&char=216543&accid=1910509592737470 | 2024-04-25 03:22 | https://scontent-bos5-1.xx.fbcdn.net/v/t39.35426-6/438804769_1558200034752981_6608399925157225575_n.jpg?stp=dst-jpg_s60x60&_nc_cat=102&ccb=1-7&_nc_sid=c53f8f&_nc_ohc=JPLxHeqXT3gAb6DL3Pu&_nc_ht=scontent-bos5-1.xx&oh=00_AfD4bdgO-p73gDj8zR48OQaYgbxcXnqBu_atHa4WYr7OTg&oe=66343068 | person_profile | 0 | moboreader | https://scontent-bos5-1.xx.fbcdn.net/v/t39.35426-6/438717110_304153629445548_3709245250426812345_n.jpg?_nc_cat=104&ccb=1-7&_nc_sid=c53f8f&_nc_ohc=AsD9CKXnoKkAb5v6zdM&_nc_ht=scontent-bos5-1.xx&oh=00_AfBud4JxgdSS1P-nKsuWZZDlT8UIDEdX3EyS_tRi1mXawQ&oe=663462B3 | 0 | 3 | Funread | 0 | 0 | 2024-04-28 02:00 | View Edit Delete | ||||||||||||||||||||

Enjoy Romance🥰Read More 👉 | She signed the divorce papers and left without taking her phone. He checked her phone and got floored at the message: Please come tomorrow for another prenatal care checkup!
=============

&13& | LEARN_MORE | https://fbweb.moboreader.net/46526322-fb_contact-e | 105235075579900 | Funread | https://facebook.com/100083845110483 | 11,033 | 1 | 1,777,324,989,440,286 | 2024-04-28 02:00 | person_profile | eligible | 0 | 0 | NONE | 0 | 1 | 1 | 0 | Learn more | 0 | Funread | 120208160005540660 | fbweb.moboreader.net | NONE | image | https://fbweb.moboreader.net/46526322-fb_contact-enj57-1125-core1.html?adid={{ad.id}}&char=216543&accid=1910509592737470 | 2024-04-25 03:23 | https://scontent-ord5-2.xx.fbcdn.net/v/t39.35426-6/439604855_444177247982298_1887699599154396921_n.jpg?stp=dst-jpg_s60x60&_nc_cat=103&ccb=1-7&_nc_sid=c53f8f&_nc_ohc=0jcwtHawYeEAb5Ksf_t&_nc_ht=scontent-ord5-2.xx&oh=00_AfDhJ7rzHSECDYxW0qZnSeD5cE44dhZ7JG1tO-j8jU8i-A&oe=663446A2 | person_profile | 0 | moboreader | https://scontent-ord5-1.xx.fbcdn.net/v/t39.35426-6/439456745_313145448285348_5281249381271131965_n.jpg?_nc_cat=106&ccb=1-7&_nc_sid=c53f8f&_nc_ohc=sIRI5bBH-goAb6p-5lX&_nc_ht=scontent-ord5-1.xx&oh=00_AfCzkvEaX3kyMPITKfvUjl-yHtBB0GScm8h_JlpUKc5tnA&oe=66345D9A | 0 | 3 | Funread | 0 | 0 | 2024-04-28 02:00 | View Edit Delete | ||||||||||||||||||||

Yes | 2024-04-28 11:39 | active | 618 | 0 | 437681035514746 | Read with Your Ears➤➤ | "Justin, though you are my twin sister's mate. My dad is really mad at you and Raven being mates." Twin sister Reagan said to my mate.
"I don't mind rejecting her, but I would have been embarrassed to face my mate" Justin said.
"My father has decided to appoint me as his future Alpha not my sister Raven. So, I will be your luna." Reagan said to Justin.
********
I silently run through the woods letting my wolf Emerald out tonight. She has been anxious all day, well really the last few days, and I could tell that she needed to come out for a run.
Alpha Cole Walker is the Alpha of the Blood Walker pack. He is said to be one of the most dangerous Alphas in the United States. It is said that he would hurt anyone who dared to enter his pack uninvited. Due to this fact, most of our pack members studiously avoid this area altogether.
My twin sister, Reagan, is the golden child of the pack. They all love her unconditionally. She is cherished and appreciated, no matter what she does. They all seem to ignore the fact that she is a horrible and mean she-wolf. I was born first, and with that should come the respect that after I find my mate, I will officially be the Luna here, and he will take over as the Alpha of the pack. Yet they all treat her as the next Luna.
My sister and I are the only children that our parents had. The Goddess never blessed them with another child, even though they tried for years. My father, Alpha Graham Sullivan, is very strict with me. I am not allowed to leave my room other than to eat my meals and then return back to my room again. I am also not allowed to leave our pack for any reason. I have never even crossed the border of the Sliver Blade pack in my life.
I was the Alpha's daughter, but I was not a valued member of this pack. Telling on me has always resulted in a bonus for whoever told on me to my father. I have had to learn how to overcome this on my own. It has made me very independent over the years, as well as a very good climber. I use the tree outside my window at the pack house, to climb up and down to get in and out of my room.
From my vantage point, I can see who is coming now and rolled my eyes so hard I almost saw my brain. It was Reagan, and she was pulling the arm of a pretty large guy, as she headed toward the grassy bank near my tree. I realized right this moment that I have picked a terrible place to hide. I should have doubled back and then climbed in my window to my room and I would have been safe and sound in my room. Reagan is clearly out with one of her many men, as she was allowed to stay out and do whatever she wanted to. I mean how else could she beat me to finding her mate if she didn't flirt with all the unmated men in our pack? I rolled my eyes again and then froze when I looked at them again and got a good look at his face.
That smell coming off of him was starting to drive me wild, he smelled like freshly baked cinnamon buns, and I was now pissed off. She had come here with the guy that I had a crush on, someone with whom she had never shown any interest in before. It was our Beta's son and the guy that I have had a crush on for the last year and a half.
"No, don't stop them, Raven, she has already been dating with him for the last few months. This is not the first time, it has been well before he returned to the pack earlier this week. They are together now, dating, and they have both vowed to reject their actual mates to stay together to take over and run this pack. Please, just try to bear it, I will help you get through it. I am glad that you are in a secure location, this may make you pass out" Emerald linked me, and I felt physically sick.
"How do you know this? Did she know that he is my mate? Why can't I approach him? Maybe he wants me, Emerald. Please let me stop this. He might not know that I am his mate, he may still want me, want US! I don't want to lose him, Emerald. He may not be aware his true mate is here. Can't he already smell our scent up here, like I smelled his scent? Are you sure that this is the only way? Please Emerald" I linked her back, and I feel the tears that are already sliding down my face. I have questions, and I need answers.
I am frustrated. I don't want to give up on my true mate. He doesn't even know that I am here, and I do want him. I don't want to give him up, especially not to my sister Reagan. I don't know if I can survive this level of betrayal.
"I can't wait for mom and dad to announce to the pack that we will be the Alpha and Luna tomorrow. This is something that I have really wanted for the last 8 years. I am so glad you decided that we could be chosen mates. " My sister says to my mate.
"Besides, I am also glad that you are willing to lead the Silver Blade pack with me. I have a feeling that my freak of a sister who keeps staring at you is going to be crushed when she finds out that we are together. You dodged by deciding to accept me as your chosen mate. I know that she has a crush on you, so she would probably try to ask you out or something when she sees that you are back from break." She adds.
"I think we will be so happy together. Raven will be so angry when she finds out that we planned this months ago. I cannot wait for her to find out. I even told mom to have her sit on the front row for the pack meeting tomorrow, so I can see her face when dad makes the announcement. I am going to put her next to you so it will hurt her more when dad calls you up on stage. When she realizes that her crush is going to be my mate, she is going to be so jealous of me. I am so going to get a picture of her face when she finds out, as I will want to remember that moment for a long time" I heard Reagan say to him, and I was so choked up I couldn't hold in the sob of pain that managed to escape.
It wasn't loud, but with werewolf hearing, it was loud enough. I just stayed completely still and prayed that they hadn't heard me, but Justin started talking when my sob escaped, and they had no reaction, so I think I am safe.
"I have always thought that you were a she-wolf, Reagan. I am so glad that you came up to my training with your offer, and for us to get extra special time together. If Raven were allowed to move around the pack, I don't think that she would be missing the fact that she is my mate. I scented her today when I got back to the pack and confirmed she is my mate. Per our agreement, I don't mind rejecting her, as I am clearly getting the better sister out of this deal. I would have been embarrassed to have to call that freak of nature my mate" Justin said, and with it, my heart was completely crushed.
These two evil people deserved each other, and I will not waste another tear on his betrayal. He "chose" her, so he can keep her. She will never be faithful to him, and he will not ever be able to trust that their children are his either. She was just doing this to ensure that they become the next Alpha and Luna. She is what he wanted, so she can have him. I am thoroughly disgusted by both of them, and I will not allow them to make me sad one more day. I had already decided to get out of this horrible pack, and I will not miss the Silver Blade pack for a second.
"She is your mate? Are you serious? Oh, this is the best" Reagan said as she laughed out in joy at hearing this information. "Justin, why haven't you mentioned this to me before?" Reagan continued.
"I just found out about it earlier today as I have been gone for my training for the last 4 months. I caught my mate's scent and followed it so I could go ahead and reject them. I realized it was coming from the Alpha level, and when I went up and it led me straight to her door, it was really faint, but I sensed it. She doesn't even know it yet. I am sure that this information is not going to go over well with your parents. They may be upset when they find out. Are they still going to want us to move forward with our plan? Or are they going to want me and Raven to be mates because we are true mates?" Justin asked Reagan. I have to admit, I was interested in her reply as well, but I already suspected what the answer was going to be.
"Oh no Justin, you will definitely be staying with me. I know dad is really going to get a kick out of you and Raven being mates. Mom might feel a little bad for her, but I think that this is great. I could not be happier that her true mate, will become my chosen mate.
We will rule the Silver Blade pack together, and it will hurt her every day to see us together. It is my pack any way, it was never going to be hers. Maybe if we are lucky since she doesn't have a wolf, she won't be able to scent you, and your rejection might even hurt her when you do it. That would be the best-case scenario for all of us" Reagan said, and I could tell that Justin was a little shocked at how hateful she was. Reagan could tell that Justin was not liking this side of her so she quickly changed her attitude and started cooing at Justin, "She doesn't deserve you, baby, I love you and I want you. Hopefully, you will come to love me too.
I was just worried, I don't want you falling in love with my sister after we have already mated." Reagan said to Justin, looking up at him adoringly through her long lashes. I have to admit, she really knows how to work people to do what she wants them to. Her ability to look innocent and pure is without measure, she could have been an actress.
"Dad hates Raven. He will be very happy about this. He has never loved her since the day that she was born. Mom might be a little upset, but she will get over it. She and dad are chosen mates, she gave up her true mate to become the Luna of the Silver Blade pack. She did it herself, and if it is good enough for her, then it is good enough for me to do it as well. We make the perfect couple. We will have strong pups, and our pack will flourish" Reagan said, and I am stunned. I knew my dad was mean, but to hate me, why? What reason could he possibly have for hating me? My parents have told the whole pack numerous times through the years that they were true mates. They are very affectionate with each other in front of the pack. I didn't even know that they weren't true mates. What else don't I know about them?
"We will do the same thing. You will have to reject Raven first thing in the morning, or after the pack meeting. But you will have to do it where no one else will hear you. Dad is going to tell the pack that we are true mates, so they will fully support us. Dad thinks that it would be a mistake to not have the pack's full support behind us when we go to take it over from my parents" Reagan said, and I am amazed at all the plans that they have kept away from me. Just another thing that shows how much difference there is between Reagan and me. I hear them touching again and wonder when they plan on leaving the area, don't they need to get back to the pack house?
I narrow my eyes at Reagan, as she is ecstatic about getting to truly rub all of my misfortune in right now. Justin is getting the opportunity to reject me, so the situation that we are now in is all positive for them.
"Raven, why are you out of the house? Are you supposed to be out here? Are you OK? That fall looked like it hurt pretty bad" I hear my sister ask me with an innocent look on her face like she cared about me. She was fully aware of how I am kept a prisoner here at the Silver Blade pack. I really have to get out of here. I needed to check and see how badly I am hurt because I don't know if I even have time to go pack a bag now. I may be having to leave here with nothing, but I am OK with that. I just need to get the heck out of here. I will figure out what I need to do after I am safely free of Silver Blade.
"Are you ignoring me, Raven? Are you sure you want to do that to me? Fine then, I will just make sure that you get punished for leaving your room. You are not supposed to be out here anyway. I will just let dad know that you are out here, and he will take care of you" Reagan said with a smirk, and then she started mind linking.
I and my wolf were running away from this pack. But they caught us immediately.
"If you come back here now Raven, I won't punish you for leaving your room without permission" I heard my father tell me.
"Nothing in the world could possess me to do that father," I told him, and I see his eyes glazing over as he goes to link someone. I could care less what they have to say to me, and I turned to walk away.
"You will get punishment in the Blood Walker pack. You know how dangerous they are Raven, you have heard this fact for your whole life. They cannot be trusted, and you are now a rogue. We have told you, and the whole pack, exactly what happens to those who trespass on their land. The moment they scent you they will move in, and you will die today. Is that what you want? Do you want to die? I will get you more freedom in the pack. I will allow you to go to the library every day instead of once a week. How does that sound?" my mother's voice is calming and comforting. She has never before sounded as nice as this, and I know that dad put her up to try to lure me back into the Siler Blade pack. They must be desperate to do it, so I want to see how far they intended to go with it.
"Let me ask you this mother. Was the plan to get Justin to take Reagan as a chosen mate her idea, or dad's?" I asked her. Mom is not a very good liar. I can see her expression as we are only about 20 feet apart from each other right now.
"I don't know what you are talking about Raven, they are mates," my mom said to me, and now I smirk at her. Clearly, mom was keeping me out of the loop and doesn't know that I know for a fact that they aren't.
"Thanks for always lying to me mom. That makes it so much easier on me. I will not be coming back to the Silver Blade pack. This is the last time, Goddess willing, that you all will probably see me and actually I am welcoming the death that is coming to me. It will be better than the life I have lived since Reagan tried to hurt me, and my own dad called me a liar when I told him what actually happened. Justin is not her mate mom, and I know this because he is MY mate. It is disgusting what all you three have done to me and allowed to be done to me my whole life. I never deserved to be treated the way I was. I can only hope that I can find my way and get to live a life that allows me to find someone who loves me and realizes that I am a good person. I don't think that is too much to ask for, do you mom? It seems like you and dad are willing to do anything to get me to come back over the fence, but we both know that if I did come back, I would either immediately be thrown in the cells. So, I will take my chances over here, where at least I have a chance" I told them and turned again to leave. I only made it a few steps before I was stopped again by my father's hateful words.
"You are ungrateful daughter, How do you have the nerve to say that to me? I have clothed and fed you, provided you a room, and let you go to school. I did take care of you, and it is disgusting to see how you repay me. Lying about Justin being your mate. Trying to take your sister's mate away from her. I know that I can speak for your mother as well as myself when I say that we hope the Blood Walker pack disposes of you quickly. I only wish I could punish you myself" my dad roared out, and the hate was coming off of him in waves.
"You disgust me father," I told him and the tone I used to draw out the word father let him know just how little I thought of him being my father. "I have never done anything to cause a problem or disruption in the pack, or in the family. I did what I was told this whole time. Even as knowing that you let the whole pack know that I was fair game if they wanted to hurt me, and they did dad, over and over again. You know what, it was my family that really took the award for the most torment. Your unwarranted hate, mom never supporting me, and my sister allowed to try to hurt me, and incite others up against me made me realize that life will be much better on this side of the border than it was on that side. Even if I only live an hour more, it would be better than the years I spent over there."
I wiped off my tears and walked past them, suddenly, I hear something coming to me…

>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
Wanna continue this incredible story? After their divorce, he realized in anguish that he had been mistaken all along—his true love had always been his ex-wife.
======

Chapter1 The truth about marrying her
"Tammy, I'm sorry I hurt you." He stroked her soft hair and murmured.

Tammy's scarred face hung with tears, and her tiny, naked body lay shivering in the strong man's arms. She was too shy to look up at him.

Today was her wedding night. Just now, she ended the transformation from a girl to a woman.

The man holding her in his arms at the moment was her husband Angus, a man could drive all women crazy.

She had loved him for fifteen years.

In the darkness, Angus stared at the little woman in his arms. His deep black eyes contained a coolness that was hard for others to guess.

Tammy shook her head gently. Her face blushed.

Although he was gentle, the pain was inevitable because it was her first time.

However, she was happy enough that he didn't mind the scars on her face and that she was a poor little girl who had been living in exile for ten years.

There was a ding, and his phone rang.

Angus took the phone, looked at it, frowned, turned his head and said, "Tammy, I'm going out for a few minutes and I will come back soon. Wait for me."

He bowed his head and gently kissed on her forehead.

Angus switched on the light and got out of bed, tucking Tammy in and picking up a robe from the side and putting it on.

Tammy watched as he left the room.

Without his embrace, she was suddenly lost. She gripped the blanket restlessly at her chest. Her thin shoulders were out of the quilt, and they were covered with the marks of their love and affection.

A few minutes passed and he didn't return. Tammy's loss grew stronger and stronger.

She put on her pink nightgown and picked up the heart-shaped pendant carved from the wood on the bedside table and put it around her neck.

It had been given to her by her mother before she died, and although it was worthless, she had worn it since she was a child.

The pendant always soothed her anxious emotion.

Tammy left the new house with a sweet smile on her face to find her husband.

In the hallway, there was a sudden sound of talking.

"Tammy's kidney was successfully paired with Sonia, and marrying her was just a way to get her to sign a consent form for the donation."

It was Angus's voice. It was extraordinarily familiar to her, but it hurt her so much for a moment. His words were like a thunderbolt exploding in her head!

Tammy's face went suddenly pale. Her hands clenched in fists, gripping the skirt of her nightgown so tightly that her whole body was as stiff as a stone. She seemed to have lost half her life.

In the back of her mind, the words he'd said when he'd asked her to marry him emerged...

"Tammy, you are a good girl, and I have no reason to marry any woman but you... "

But then those words were like heavy slaps in her face!

Tammy's kidney was paired with Sonia's and marrying her was just to get her to sign the donor consent form-...

Tammy covered her mouth and shivered.

She'd never agreed to donate her kidney, and she'd thought he'd married her because he loved her.

But it turned out that he was the one who was going to trick her into donating a kidney for the woman he loved!

The familiar figure not far away was as grand and tall as a king, with an elegant aristocratic air. Although the first time had only just been given to him, at the moment he was so strange to her!

At this time, there came another voice with some flattery: "Oh, so that's it. Young Master Smith, why didn't you say so earlier. I thought you had let Sonia down. After all, she loves you so much, and you married Tammy as soon as she fell ill. It's hard for her not to think too much. Tammy is so vicious that she won't donate her kidney to save her sister. And you're the only one who can control her!"

Chapter2 So it's all a trick
The speaker was Tammy's stepmother, who was named Sue.

When Tammy was nine years old, Sue was brought home by her father along with her sister who was older than Tammy. That girl was also her father's biological daughter.

In other words, not long after her father and mother got married, he already had had an affair with another woman and had a daughter outside.

At the time, her mother was already suffering from depression due to the hardships she had had in the marriage. And as a result, the incident completely overwhelmed her, causing her to become more and more mentally ill. Finally, her mother desperately tried to throw her out of the car window in a major car accident, while she was burned to death in the car.

By the time her body was taken out, it was all charred...

Tammy was only ten years old...

Her mother was killed by Sue and her daughter, and her face and life were ruined by them.

And now, they had joined forces and wanted her kidney!

How could they be so bad? How could they do this to her?

What did she do wrong?

Tammy's tears rolled down like a river that had burst its banks!

Angus, did you know that I've remembered you since I was five years old!

But I loved you so much, and you trampled on my affection like this!

His cruelty shattered all her hopes, and her world fell into obscurity.

She thought she'd made it, but when the fog had lifted, she found that the destination she'd been running to wasn't heaven, but hell!

Tammy gritted her teeth desperately and ran away back to her room!

Angus's eyes were deep and dark. His voice had turned cold, "Tammy's kidneys can only be used when it's necessary."

When he possessed her tonight, she was shaking all the time. She was so thin and fragile, so how could she carry the kidney removal surgery.

When Sue heard this, she was immediately unhappy, but she didn't dare to show her anger, "Young Master Smith, what do you mean? Didn't you say you'd let her donate her kidney before marrying her? But why did you go back on your word?"

Angus frowned and said sternly, "I have no regrets. If another suitable kidney is found before the operation, I will divorce her."

Divorce.

The thought of these words seemed to hit him hard heavily.

Sue was about to say something else. Suddenly Angus paled and said indifferently, "Go away and don't let Tammy doubt you."

His tone was full of strong command that made Sue pale!

Although she had decided that she was Angus's future mother-in-law, she still shivered, not daring to say anything more. She turned away but a light flashed in her eyes.

She would never let Tammy go!

......

Tammy huddled in the corner of the room with her arms wrapped around her, shivering.

Angus came in, and found no one in the room. He searched around, and suddenly noticed the curtains trembling faintly.

He lifted the curtains and saw Tammy sitting on the floor, hugging her knees as if she was in some kind of shock. Her face was pale as a sheet.

Angus was startled, "Tammy, what are you doing here?"

Tammy clenched her teeth desperately, and she stared at him with her red eyes.

Angus frowned. He was confused. "What's wrong with you? Get up first"

Chapter3 You give up
He bent down and put his hands under her armpits and picked her up.

Suddenly, Tammy was agitated and pushed him away hard, "Get off me!"

She almost growled out.

"......"

Her attitude was so strange. Did she know anything?

Instantly, his eyes went cold, "Did you know?"

Tammy clenched her fists in grief, "Yes!"

"......"

Angus said coldly, "In that case, there's no need to pretend loving."

It was clear that things had been revealed, and his cold tone seemed to tell her that there was no need for him to pretend to be gentle with her anymore.

The air went cold, and Tammy's whole body became top-heavy as if all her insides had been emptied!

Suddenly, she was so out of breath that a sensation of her breath being blocked came over her, and she fell to the ground, covering her chest!

Angus sensed something was wrong and immediately took her in his arms!

"Tammy!" There was urgency in his voice.

Tammy's breath quickened and she gripped the man's suit tie. Her tears gushed from her eyes, and her red eyes were full of indignation!

"........"

Angus didn't say much, but his face was unusually livid. He just picked Tammy up and put her on the bed.

"Tammy, how are you feeling?" He patted her face gently, a fine layer of sweat covering his forehead.

Tammy stared at him with wide and empty eyes. She gave him a sarcastic smile.

If he'd been scared about her before, she'd have been happy. But now she just felt sick.

He wasn't afraid she'd die, but he was afraid that he could not get her to sign the consent form!

Suddenly, Tammy sat up in bed, pushed him away, and got right off the bed!

Angus frowned. He easily caught her back with his long arms and held her in his arms. He hugged her from behind, and his eyes were dark, "Where do you want to go?"

"You let go of me!" Tammy shouted!

Finally, monstrous anger erupted and she tried almost with all her might to break the man's hands that held her. Her nails almost sank into the back of his hands.

Angus frowned and a chill crossed his face as he said coldly, "Stop it. Calm down!"

"........"

He's got the nerve to think she was making a scene?

Tammy gritted her teeth, veins bulging on her forehead as she hissed, "Angus, how could you cheat on my feelings like that?!"

She hated him so much!

Angus closed his eyes and his breathing became a little faster. He easily clamped around her in his embrace. His strong and muscular muscles pressed against her back through the suit and her nightgown. His heartbeat strongly that almost crushed her thin and frail body.

In the end, he opened his cold and heartless eyes with a frost that couldn't be melted, "Yes, I married you for your kidney, but..."

He seemed to be trying to explain something else, but the words wouldn't come out of his mouth.

After all, he was doing it for her kidney. What else could he do to explain?

"........"

He had finally admitted it to her. He admitted his intention so neatly, so righteously!

Tammy breathed a cold air. She bit down on her teeth, and her face was full of tears. The tears hid the scars on her face. She raged, "I won't give my kidney to Sonia. You give up!"

His voice was also tinged with a hidden anger, and his strong, powerful arms around her became tighter, "Tammy, she's your sister. Why are you so cruel? It's just a kidney. You are not going to die!"

Just a kidney?

Why did he have the nerve to say that?

...
&4& | LEARN_MORE | https://web.readnow.mobi/51691322-fb_contact-encp1 | 106206892171576 | Love Story City | https://facebook.com/100083614308933 | 17,052 | 1 | 1,848,291,885,612,504 | 2024-04-28 02:00 | person_profile | eligible | 0 | 0 | NONE | 0 | 1 | 1 | 0 | Learn more | 0 | Love Story City | 120210536393400022 | web.readnow.mobi | NONE | video | https://web.readnow.mobi/51691322-fb_contact-encp15_5-0410-core2.html?adid={{ad.id}}&char=961225&accid=734914081743879 | 2024-04-25 02:16 | https://scontent-bos5-1.xx.fbcdn.net/v/t39.35426-6/439999766_3317016531766622_710572657781973590_n.jpg?stp=dst-jpg_s60x60&_nc_cat=106&ccb=1-7&_nc_sid=c53f8f&_nc_ohc=6vsfU_w5olwAb4RrSiP&_nc_ht=scontent-bos5-1.xx&oh=00_AfCTGlgEmTuOTZlynvWDOln1EVEAbKizT2xId7bEX813hA&oe=66344562 | person_profile | 0 | ReadNow | https://scontent-bos5-1.xx.fbcdn.net/v/t39.35426-6/439998505_2423694521164262_3394668907124036816_n.jpg?_nc_cat=108&ccb=1-7&_nc_sid=c53f8f&_nc_ohc=sjDndZjGctYAb5WMSMW&_nc_ht=scontent-bos5-1.xx&oh=00_AfCH8QxH8BAle7KWPjMV7QmAyi2maEqeIsTnauwtYWFI1Q&oe=66343CB7 | 0 | 3 | Love Story City | 0 | 0 | 2024-04-28 02:00 | View Edit Delete | |||||||||||||||||||||

I wasn't going to tell you but he is planning on rejecting you tonight in front of everyone. I don't want you to be blindsided like I was. I also don't want you to be embarrassed and hurt at your birthday party. I'm so sorry to tell you this I just want you prepared he states.
I'm shocked. This is the last thing I was expecting today. Why would the moon goddess mate me with Haze? He is a world-class wanker. I'm kinda glad he is rejecting me I reply with a smile. I'm willing to put on one gorgeous show tonight.
********
Skylar's POV
Happy birthday Skylar my mother says as she hugs me. Thank you Mom. Everything looks amazing I say with a smile. Today is my 18th birthday. My parents have decided to throw me a party. Unfortunately, the whole pack will be here. I love my pack don't get me wrong but there's a handful of people I can't stand. The bimbo crew, Amber, and her friends. They are useless she-wolves. None of them train. They can't fight their way out of a wet paper bag. They focus on make-up, clothes, gossip, and boys. They sleep their way through life. They feel they don't need to fight because they will either be fated to a ranked member or one will be their chosen mate. Either way, they don't need to know how to do anything other than look pretty and be extremely good at blow jobs and the reverse cowgirl. They are pathetic.
They try and make my life a living inferno. Any boyfriend I have had has cheated on me with one of the bimbo crew but mostly with Amber. She has some kind of vendetta against me. I don't know why though. It's been like this since elementary school. I think it's because she is a warrior's daughter and I am the Gamma's daughter. She wants a ranking so bad. It doesn't help that I am the only female in the pack house other than our mothers. I'm surrounded by boys who continuously get on my last nerve.
I have 2 older brothers, Luke and Danny. Luke is 20 and is the next gamma. Danny is 19 and he is a vicious warrior. I love my brothers even though they drive me crazy sometimes. Also living in the pack house is the beta family. Beta Jackson Anderson, female Beta Jane Anderson, and their 3 sons. Kail is the oldest he is 20. Blaze is 18 and Cole is 17. Then we have the alpha family. Alpha Theo Williams, Luna Amanda Williams, and their 2 sons. Haze is 20 and Tyson is 17. So you see I'm surrounded by idiots. We all use to be close. I mean we kind of had to be we all lived together. Things started changing around 3 years ago. Now we are broken up into groups. Luke, Kail, and Haze have their group. They are the future Gamma, Beta, and Alpha. Then there is Danny, Blaze, Cole, Tyson, and myself. They are my best friends. I think that's why the Bimbo crew hates me.
They do a lot to catch the boy's attention. They wear so much makeup, barely their clothes anything that will get them noticed. Right now Amber is sleeping with Haze. Kail is sleeping with Stacey and Luke is sleeping with Lucy. It's so annoying but it's their lives, not mine. Haze, Kail, and Luke spend most of their time being pissed at me because I don't and won't take from their manhood warmers. They hate that I call them their manhood warmers but that's exactly what they are. They are a hole to keep their dicks warm until they find their mates.
Amber tries to be rude and say stupid, sometimes she is even stupid enough to nudge me or push me. Her rude remarks go unnoticed by me but when she nudges me or pushes me I have no choice but to put her in her place. Let's just say she has ended up at the pack hospital more times than anyone else in the pack. Alpha Theo tries to be serious and scold me for it but he can't. I open my mouth and tell my side and he can't help but start laughing every time.
One time Amber had shoved me into a locker saying I was jealous of her. I grabbed her by her neck and held her up off the ground against a locker. What is there to be jealous of I asked. Oh wait I know. I'm supposed to be jealous of your bottle-dyed blond fake hair or your fake spray tan. Maybe I'm jealous of your fake hip or this fake beauty you're trying to portray through all this God-forsaken makeup. Wait I know what it is. I'm jealous that you are as useless as used protection. She wolf with absolutely no skills other than sucking shaft and being a shaft warmer right I added before I punched her and knocked her out cold. Everyone started laughing except Haze. He was furious.
He had Alpha Theo call me to his office to punish me. When I told him everything that happened he couldn't hold back the laugh that bubbled inside of him. He told Haze he couldn't punish me for taking up for myself and telling the truth then he dismissed me. Haze has pretty much hated me ever since.
But anyways they are all about to show up here at my birthday party and I have to be on my best behavior. Hey Sky you ready to party Danny asks me as he hugs me. Of course, I am. A girl only turns 18 once in her life I say with a giggle. You're a dork you know that right Tyson says as he hugs me from behind. Happy Birthday he adds as he pecks my cheek. Thank you and yes I know I'm a dork but you still love me I replied.
I felt someone tap me on my shoulder. I turned around to see Rick, my ex-boyfriend. We dated for 2 months. Things got pretty hot and heavy with us pretty quickly. The intercourse was great till I caught him sleeping with Amber. I haven't spoken to him since. Happy Birthday, Sky he says as he hands me an envelope. Thank you I reply and turn back around. Sky I'm sorry. I've apologized a hundred times and you still haven't talked to me. It's been 3 months he said with frustration. Look Rick I say as I turn around. You cheated on me that is unforgivable. Nothing you can say or do will ever make me forgive you. You can apologize a million more times and it won't make a difference but thanks for the card and enjoy the party I said as I turned back to Danny and Tyson. I don't know when Kail showed up but he was standing there shocked.
Kail and Luke have been hanging out with us a little more over the past couple of years. Actually since Kail's 18th birthday. Hey Kail where did you come from I asked. I came to wish you a happy birthday. I came up while this tool wished you a happy birthday he said as he pointed at Rick. Rick took that as his cue to leave so he did. Why are you standing there shocked? You all know he cheated on me and we were over I state. Yes sis we did, we just didn't know how savage you were Danny replied with a laugh. Look there are a lot of things that can be forgiven and cheating is not one of them I state. Never asked Tyson. Never I replied. If you truly love someone or even just want to be with someone then you don't cheat on them. When you cheat it makes the other think something is wrong with them or they wouldn't have cheated. It makes them feel unwanted and only a fool accepts a week hip apology and takes the cheater back and last I checked I'm no fool I reply. Touche Kail replies. Besides cheating is one of the worst forms of betrayal I add.
I'm having a great time at my party. Right now I'm dancing with Kail. Hey Kail are you ok? I ask. You seem different since your birthday I add. Yeah, I'm ok or at least I will be he replies. What do you mean I ask? I found my mate he said and before I can congratulate him he adds she rejected me. I'm floored. What? Why I ask. She wants to be Luna not a beta female he replies. I look at him and see him staring at Haze and Amber in the corner making out.
Oh my God Kail I'm so sorry. Does Haze know she is your mate I ask. Yes he does and he doesn't care that's why Luke and I have distanced ourselves from him he replies. God Kail, I'm so sorry. What's Haze going to do when he finds his mate I ask. He already knows who his mate is and he plans on rejecting her he replied. Does she know I asked feeling my heart break for his mate. No, she doesn't, not yet.
I stand there and look over at the corner and Haze is glaring at me. I look back at Kail. Kail why are you telling me this I ask. I have a feeling I know why. You are his mate Skylar.
He is a world-class wretch. I'm kinda glad he is rejecting me I reply with a smile. Kail looks at me and smiles why. Cause he is a wretch and because now I can do this I say before I buss Kail. He stiffens up at first then relaxes and busses me back. I hear the growl but don't care. I break the buss. This will show them we aren't the ones to sleep with. If your game I'm willing to put on one gorgeous show tonight. Just tonight then we can be heartbroken tomorrow I state. I'm game he replies not even caring what my plan is.
Suddenly I'm being pulled by my arm and I feel the sparks it. Happy Birthday Skylar Haze growls. Yep, thanks I reply. I knew the minute he touched me that he was my mate but looking into his eyes only solidifies it. Everyone listen up Haze yells. Everyone stopped what they were doing. The music stops and everyone is giving us their full attention. I look over at Amber and see her smirk. This bimbo thinks she won.
I alpha Haze Williams reject Skylar Shaw as my mate and Luna he says with a smile. I feel the rip in our bond and it hurts but I will never show him that. I Skylar Shaw accept Alpha Haze Williams's rejection to be his mate and Luna I state. Both of us grab our chests. No what are you doing Alpha Theo shouts. I can't stand her and I will not be mated to a bimbo I can't stand. Someone who can't even satisfy her man and keep him he says with a laugh. Well, obviously you aren't pleasing Amber either because he cheated on me with her I laugh. He growls at me. Guess he didn't like what I said.
Son, you can't reject her Alpha Theo says through gritted teeth. It's too late I just did. I'm going to be the alpha I can do whatever I want and I love Amber. She is pregnant with my baby. I plan on marking her tonight and making her my Luna Haze said with a smirk. You will not mark her and make her luna till her baby is born and we do a DNA test to prove it's yours he says with an alpha order.
I look at Kail and see the hurt on his face. I'm over this whole thing. Is there anything else I ask? What Haze asks. Is there anything else or can I go back to my party and make out with Kail I ask. Haze growls, Do whatever you want. Oh, I plan to I say as I smile at Kail. I turn around and grab Kail's hand and walk away with him.

Haze's POV
It's been an inferno. For me for the last 3 months, my life has been a living inferno. Nothing can ever prepare you to watch the one person made for you, the person you are supposed to love and they love you back unconditionally love someone else, be happy with someone else. I never thought it would hurt this much. Let's be honest I didn't think about her at all. I never thought about her possibly feeling this way watching me with Amber. I didn't give any of this much thought. I'm an idiot and I have to live with my idiocy for the rest of my life.
I hate having to constantly hear Skylar screaming Kail's name all the time. Those are like rabbits. I get so worked up hearing her moans I end up sleeping with Amber. She thinks everything is fine with us but truth be told I hate her. I don't want anything to do with her but if the baby is mine then I'm stuck with her for 18 more years. I know she is only after the position of Luna. She proved that after she told me to challenge my father. Like I would ever do that. She never loved me just the position that came with being with me. I can't stand the sight of her. I have to picture Skylar every time I'm with her. Amber is my punishment for my stupidity. Thank God my father ordered me not to mark her. I can't even begin to imagine what kind of Luna she would have made.
I hate seeing Skylar happy with Kail. She should have been happy with me. I don't know what I was thinking when I rejected her that's just it I wasn't thinking not with my head or my heart. I can't even look out my window without seeing the 2 of them walking hand in hand laughing or bussing. I've even gone for a run and stumbled across the 2 of them sleeping with on the cliff. She was riding him and she looked so perfect. I got to see the faces she makes during intercourse and the face she makes when she cums. Those faces are in my dreams every night. I wake up every morning hard as a rock. I have to take care of myself every morning.
I hate myself for what I did. My father is still pissed at me. Luke won't talk to me and I don't talk to Kail. The 3 of us go to the meetings and act cordially with each other. We are professional when it comes to packing business. Outside of pack business and meetings, our friendship is nonexistent. We don't talk or even look at each other. How did I manage to let 1 girl ruin everything? Well, that's a lie she didn't ruin anything. I did. I did this no one else did. I would do anything if I could go back in time and change everything.
Amber had her baby and low and behold the baby is not mine. I gave up everything for a lying bimbo. I haven't slept with Amber since finding out the baby isn't mine. He looks like Kail. I don't know how he is going to explain that.
I was walking down the hall heading out back when Skylar came running down the hall and ran right into me. She had tears streaming down her face. When I saw Kail comes running down the hall with Amber right behind him the both of them fixing their clothes I knew what happened. To say I was pissed would be an understatement. I was livid. How can he hurt someone so perfect? How can he flirt with something so perfect for a lying bimbo like her? I can't say nonsense I did the same thing to the same person.
After I left Kail I went looking for Skylar. I know she probably wants to be alone but I knew she shouldn't be alone. I heard a howl coming from the north. I went to the tree line where I picked up her scent and followed it to the waterfall. I saw her sitting there undressed crying. It broke my heart. I hate seeing her like this. What do you want Haze she asked. I walked up to her and sat next to her. I took my shirt off and handed it to her. I turned my back to her so she wouldn't be uncomfortable putting the shirt on.
You can turn around now she whispered. I turned around and I felt my heart shatter into a million little pieces. I could see the hurt and the pain on her face but mostly in her beautiful eyes. She was brokenhearted. When she started questioning herself I instantly hated myself because I know I made her feel the same way. I made her feel like she wasn't enough. I made her feel like she wasn't worthy of love. God this is all my fault. Her pain and heartache she is suffering right now is my fault. If I would have just accepted her none of this would be happening
I pull her onto my lap. It felt amazing having her in my arms and on my lap. I had to keep picturing my grandmother to keep from getting sexually excited. Her body felt so perfect. She cried into my chest. When she climbed off my lap I felt empty. When she was in my arms and on my lap my spirit felt full and now it's just empty. I was about to confess me watching her and Kail have intercourse but I heard the snap of a twig. I knew she heard it too because her head snapped up. Did you hear that I linked her? Yes, she replied. What do you think it is she asked. I don't know but you need to run I linked her. I started to look around and then felt a sharp pain in my neck. I grab my neck and when I pulled my hand back there was blood on my palm. I looked over at Skylar and saw the fear in her eyes before everything went blurry and then faded to darkness. | LEARN_MORE | https://a.crazynovelapp.com/ad/TXlsaWIvMTYzMjM2LzI | 149788454881544 | Cra0004 | https://facebook.com/61552123302606 | 44 | 1 | 1,588,986,781,674,875 | 2024-04-28 02:00 | person_profile | eligible | 0 | 0 | NONE | 0 | 0 | 1 | 0 | Learn more | 0 | Cra0004 | 120209782094460400 | a.crazynovelapp.com | NONE | video | https://a.crazynovelapp.com/ad/TXlsaWIvMTYzMjM2LzIwMjQwNDI2MTM0MzQyL3BhZ2U=?adid={{ad.id}} | 2024-04-26 00:47 | https://scontent-lga3-2.xx.fbcdn.net/v/t39.35426-6/438742376_800710354884525_7422890401805068802_n.jpg?stp=dst-jpg_s60x60&_nc_cat=109&ccb=1-7&_nc_sid=c53f8f&_nc_ohc=hOQdqxk8PowAb4ytOgK&_nc_ht=scontent-lga3-2.xx&oh=00_AfASKvIv3Vhzzsz8JZazvk4wuTk25OpojGiS0nbEwajgFQ&oe=66345E07 | person_profile | 0 | Cra0004 | https://scontent-lga3-1.xx.fbcdn.net/v/t39.35426-6/440603228_2161385647626143_7980040753794939554_n.jpg?_nc_cat=111&ccb=1-7&_nc_sid=c53f8f&_nc_ohc=5gtIbfs8TEcAb6iesti&_nc_ht=scontent-lga3-1.xx&oh=00_AfDV_i3MUfWjZOvwgPkQZqBEHRqZrmoxnuOcBMkOOZM-IA&oe=66344839 | 0 | 3 | Cra0004 | 0 | 0 | 2024-04-27 02:00 | View Edit Delete | |||||||||||||||||||||

He pushed back in his seat, running a hand through his hair.
"I know I'm sorry I should have told them. It's just at first when we were having trouble I thought we'd work it out then when the divorce happened .... I didn't know how to explain it to them."
Their divorce was anything but normal Laurel had been home alone one night and men had broken into their home. A rival gang had beaten and violated her leaving her for Ivan's cousin Ezra to find, after that their marriage was strained and after seven months they finally agreed to call it quits.
"So, they don't know about the violate either?"
"They don't know you're a motorcycle club leader, they don't know you smuggle cocaine for a living, they don't know I run an opposing club and bimbo house. How would I explain the violate?"
He fell silent, deep down he still blamed himself for what happened. Part of their divorce had been because Laurel healed and Ivan had not.
————————
Laurel sighed as she climbed from her Cadillac in front of the strip club she owned and ran, she started across the parking lot just as her phone rang. She glanced at the caller ID seeing it was her mother she paused, debated not answering it.
"Hello?"
"Laurel, I've been trying to reach you!"
"I'm sorry mother I've been busy."
"Well, that's alright but tell me are you coming to the wedding?"
"I....I don't know mom I'm pretty busy and it takes days to drive there..."
"Oh please darling? You know Lydia would love to have you there and you haven't been home since Christmas."
Laurel winced she wished she could go home more often and see her family but she couldn't she just had too many secrets from them.
"I'll think about it," She said softly.
"Very well then, I love you."
"I love you too mom."
She hung up and took a deep breath, somewhere along the way her lies had snowballed out of control and now here she was at the edge of the cliff she could either jump and end the fiasco or keep up with her tirades and hope it didn't push her off.
She chose the latter, turning she crossed the parking lot and slipped back into her car. She drove across town the bar that her ex-husband Ivan owned. She sat in the parking lot for a few long minutes, hating herself for what she was about to do.
Before she lost her nerve she climbed from her car and crossed the parking lot walking inside, she bypassed the bar section where the bartender was wiping things down and two bikers sat up chairs. Her husband was the president of the Trojans MC and once upon a time she was his vice president.
She knocked on his private door, giving him a few minutes to answer and fidgeting.
"Come in."
She stepped into his office, closing the door behind her. The office looked the same, dark red carpet and dark mahogany walls with a large oak desk and a dangerous man behind it.
"Laurel, what can I do for you?"
"I...I need a favor." She said gently.
"Okay, what can I do for you?"
He wouldn't hesitate to help her, they had stayed friends after the divorce and he owed her so much. A few months ago he'd been in a war with a rival gang and Laurel had saved him in a raid, not long after that his cousin and best friend was murdered only Laurel had held him together. Ivan drank too heavily and had it not been for Laurel would have probably slipped into depression. Two weeks ago he had finally sobered up and returned to work.
"Will...will you, come home with me?" She asked with a wince.
"What back to your apartment?" He asked.
"No back to...mayport..."
Mayport falls, a rustic, hidden little town in the mountains. Population five hundred and nine and their hometown as children. Ivan hadn't stepped foot in that place since they're divorce his father lived nearby him in the city and he had no other family.
"Mayport...why?"
"Lydia is...getting married."
Her cousin Lydia was the over achiever of the family, but Ivan was still confused. He and Laurel had been divorced for five years.
"Okay, why do you need me?"
"Remember when I said that my parents don't know I still gamble on the horses?" She asked.
"Yes."
It was right after Laurel had taken a magazine that was meant for him, she'd been in the hospital betting on horses and Ivan had chastised her for it.
"Well....they also don't know about us."
"Wait, don't know what?"
"That we're divorced."
"Are you serious, Laurel?" He pushed back in his seat, running a hand through his hair.
"I know I'm sorry I should have told them. It's just at first when we were having trouble I thought we'd work it out then when the divorce happened....I didn't know how to explain it to them."
"How long?" He asked under his breath.
"How long what?"
"Will we be gone?"
"Oh, I'd like to leave maybe tomorrow. I'm sure you remember it takes two days to get there and then that puts us there on Wednesday so....a little over a week maybe?" She said with a small wince.
"Fine."
"Really? You'll do it?" She asked daring to hope.
"I'll do it because I owe you....a lot."
"Thank you."
"But you can't keep this charade going forever," He pointed out.
"I know just help me get through this."
"Of course I will."
She offered him a beaming smile, relieved that he agreed to help her pull this off and already calculating how she could get out of this mess. She'd made it the passed five years by going to as few family events as possible and when she did go she always had an excuse for why Ivan wasn't there. Work, family duties, etc. Sometime she sent herself flowers from him apologizing for not being at her side, at first it was just to get by but then it became her way of life.
"Thank you, for doing this." She said as she stood.
"I'll pick you up tomorrow, nine work?"
"Yes."
He gave a small nod and she stood there awkwardly for a minute then with one last sigh of relief turned and hurried from the room. She needed to go home and pack, it was going to be a long couple of days.
Ivan picked Laurel up the next morning in his large black suburban, she sighed heavily pushing back the anxiety that rose in her chest as he came to help with her luggage.
"You never were a light packer," He said lifting one of the three heavy suitcases.
"I can't help it, I nervous pack."
"I remember," He teased.
He tossed her bags a little roughly into the back of the vehicle before opening her door for her, she slid onto the leather seat as he walked to the driver side.
If he was nervous about the upcoming week he didn't show it, just started the vehicle and pulled onto the street starting the long drive home. Their hometown, the one they met in, fell in love in, dated in, married in.
"Will the club be okay with you gone?" She asked.
Being a president of her own MC she knew how hard it was to leave them for long periods of time, anything could happen and they both needed to be sure that they're clubs were in good hands. Her Vice President was more than capable of handling anything that arose.
"They'll be fine, Slater can handle it."
"Slater....is...is he who...he replaced...."She fell silent.
Ezra had been the vice president for years, knowing he was gone for good was hard to deal with. The three of them had been close growing up and closer as adults, Laurel missed Ezra. His easy friendship, his laugh, his soft eyes and kind nature, but Laurel had been so busy keeping Ivan together she didn't have time to be sad for herself.
"Ezra......he replaced Ezra," Ivan said gently.
"Right, Ezra."
"I was thinking about going to France in the fall, seeing how Eve is doing."
Eve was Ezra's girlfriend, a nun at a local Church where Ezra was assigned community hours, the two had fallen in love. Ezra had made sure that upon his death Eve was left with enough money to live comfortably for the rest of his life, this also provided enough money for her to adopt an orphaned baby that Ezra had cared deeply about a baby she then named Ezra.
"She calls me once a week, she said little Ezra is growing like a weed." He added.
"I bet he is."
"If....if you wanted to come with me you could," he offered with a small shrug.
"You wouldn't mind?"
"No, I think Eve would like to see you."
"It wouldn't be weird?"
"What you mean more weird than spending a week pretending to be married?" He asked.
She laughed a little, he was right the entire thing was bizarre. She should have been honest with her parents about their getting a divorce but she knew how much they adored Ivan and at the time she wasn't ready to talk about it.
"I think I have a plan for this entire thing," She offered.
"Let's hear it, I'm not doing this again."
"Well what if towards the end of our stay we started to fight? We could start small and slowly escalate. A few days after we return home I'll call mom and tell her we're getting a divorce."
"That could work I guess."
"I'm sorry about all of this."
"It's fine I owe you one....more than one actually."
"You don't owe me anything and this is my mess."
The pair fell silent with only the sound of the road rumbling to break the silence. The silence would have been more comfortable if it wasn't for the destination they were heading to and the reason they were together.
Laurel let her head fall back against the head rest of the car, her eyelids heavy. She'd been up most of the night packing and planning, trying to think of anyway to get out of this situation. She slowly felt her muscles relax and slipped into a deep, dreamless sleep.
Ivan glanced over at his ex-wife, or rather his wife for the week at least. How long had it even been since he'd referred to her as his wife. They'd been divorced so long he almost forgot what it was like being married to her, almost, but not completely and it was the almost part that kept him up at night thinking about her.
Just a few weeks ago he'd been as drunk as a fiddler, cold barely stand on his own two feet. Laurel had innocently came over to try and help him and he'd made a blatant pass at her, practically begging her to go to bed with him. She'd refused, because she wasn't as drunk as a fiddler. Now, he felt like a heel, he'd been weak, drunk, and had only wanted her because she was comfortable.
He knew Laurel, he'd been with Laurel, could remember every dip and valley on her body, her smell, her soft skin, the sounds she made, he remembered all of that and it made him comfortable asking for her help but being comfortable was dangerous, it would be too easy to slip back into that role that he once loved, her husband. He'd have to keep a tight leash on his feelings and emotions this week.
He drove most of the day with her asleep in the passenger seat next to him, it was fine with him if she slept he didn't need conversation. Just having a presence in the seat beside him was enough to keep him content on the long drive.
When he saw a small diner off the side of the road a few hours later he pulled over, he was starving and he knew that Laurel most likely hadn't ate breakfast. He turned off the car then reached over to lay a hand on her thigh giving her a gentle shake.
"Laurel, wake up."
She stirred slowly, she always was hard to wake up and a deep sleeper. Stretching she sat up better in the seat and looked around.
"What time is it?" She asked with a yawn.
"Four thirty, I need to stretch my legs and thought some food would be good."
"I'm starving," She replied undoing her belt.
She turned for the handle on the door but before she could a gentle hand on her shoulder stopped her.
"Wait, Laurel....before we go inside."
She turned to him obviously confused as he dug in his jacket pocket pulling out a red velvet box he handed it to her without looking at her.
"If we're going to pull this off you're going to need that," He said.
Taking the box she opened the lid to reveal her engagement ring and wedding band nestled inside, the same one they'd had when they were married. The same one she left on his kitchen table the night she left him for good.
"You kept them."
"Yeah, I did. I don't even know why but....I figured if we're going to do this then, you'll need them."
She pulled them from the box and slid them into place only noticing now that his was already resting snugly on his hand. It looked odd seeing the thick, gold band on his left ring finger after years of it being uncovered but he didn't seem to notice it.
"Thank you," She said softly.
"Let's get some food."
He was out of the vehicle before she could say anything else, she took just a minute to stare at her wedding rings in the light of the sunset. It felt odd having them back after so long but he was right they needed them to get away with this, rings never crossed her mind when she planned this trip but then that was Ivan.
Always thinking of little things, always looking out for her, always making sure she had her bases covered even if she was getting them involved in ridiculous scheme.
Laurel followed Ivan into the diner, he held the door for her like always and they picked a booth near the back of the diner. An older waitress with graying hair hurried to their table.
"Hello dears, what can I get you for drinks?" She asked.
"I'll have tea," Laurel said gently.
"Water," Ivan said.
The waitress hurried off and Laurel lifted her menu, scanning it for something to order. She glanced briefly at Ivan over the top of her menu, he was texting someone and she briefly wondered if it was a woman.
"Who is watching your club while we are gone?" He asked.
"Tanner," She replied, referring to her right hand man.
"Oh, yeah, of course."
She glanced at him, his tone was somewhat biting when he spoke.
"What?" She asked.
"What?" He asked, with a shrug.
"That tone, what is it with you and Tanner? Why can't you just get along?"
"I don't like him, I don't trust him and I...."He trailed off and shook his head.
"You what? You can tell me."
"Nothing, just forget it."
Before she could say anything else the waitress returned setting their drinks in front of them she offered Laurel a warm smile.
"Newlyweds?" She asked.
"What?" Ivan asked, his head snapping up.
"I asked if you were newlyweds, I'm pretty good at reading people and the way your beautiful bride keeps spinning her ring on her finger....must be a newlywed," She said with a smile.
"Something like that," Laurel offered.
"I thought so," The woman said happily.
Laurel forced a smile back and Ivan turned to his menu, hoping the woman would take the hint, take their order and leave.
"What can I get you?" She asked, pulling out a pad and pencil.
"I'll have the grilled chicken special," Laurel said.
"I'll have a steak and potatoes."
The waitress hurried off, taking their menus with her and Laurel took a sip of her tea. Ivan waited until he was sure that the waitress was out of ear shot before he spoke.
"Why did you tell her that?"
"What?"
"That we're newly weds?"
"What did it hurt? We kind of are."
"No, we're a far way from newlyweds," He replied.
She shook her head and turned her attention to her now ringing phone, she answered it quickly and he took a deep breath. Something about the older woman's questions got under his skin, his and Laurels relationship wasn't something easy to explain and now it was even worse.
"We'll be there as soon as we can mom." Laurel said.
She hung up the phone and glanced at Ivan before setting it aside.
"Mom's excited to see us," She said.
"I'm sure she is."
"I haven't been home since Christmas...it was too hard trying to make an excuse of wehre you were."
"Why did you? Why not just tell them I was a prick and I ran out on you?"
"I don't know, because.....it was too hard to tell them the truth about what happened and.....I didn't want to lie about you. You were a good husband."
He fell silent, Laurel always made him sound like a saint but that was a lie. He tried to be good to her, he had loved her but he wasn't the best husband. He missed dinner, he came home late, he went away for days on rides, he forgot an anniversary or two but he had always loved her.
"Okay, here we go."
The waitress returned settling their plates in front of them with another happy smile, it was almost unnatural to be that happy in Ivan's opinion.
"Thank you," Laurel smiled back at her, always the polite one.
The waitress hurried away and Laurel picked up her fork and began to cut her chicken into pieces. Ivan watched her for a minute or two before digging into his steak.
They exited the diner together a few hours later, Ivan heading to the driver side of the vehicle.
"Do you want me to drive for a bit?" Laurel offered.
"No, I want to get there in one piece."
"My driving isn't that bad."
"Uhhu, tell it to someone who hasn't rode in a car with you since you were seventeen."
He climbed into the driver seat and she joined him on her own side, clicking her seatbelt in place.
"I thought we'd drive a few more hours then find a motel, maybe order room service?"
"That sounds like a great idea."
She wanted to ask him what the sleeping arrangements would be, naturally she knew they wouldn't be sleeping together but she didn't know if they were getting two rooms or one. Deciding to play it by ear like she did everything else she didn't ask.
They drove for a few more hours, knocking off as many miles as possible before Ivan found a small motel near the highway. He parked the car and Laurel followed him into the office.
"I need two rooms, please." Ivan said, reaching for his wallet.
"We only have one room available but it has two beds," The skinny boy behind the desk said.
He glanced over his shoulder at Laurel and she gave him a small nod, two beds and one room was fine with her. He pulled his wallet from his back pocket and paid for their room. The kids slid the key across the counter and Ivan pocketed it before turning and Laurel followed him out the door.
The walked across the parking lot to room number seven and Ivan opened the door, motioning for Laurel to go inside first.
"Pick whichever bed you want."
She moved to the bed furthest from the door, he slid the small gold chain in place locking them both in for the night. He hung his coat up on a nearby hanger.
"Are you hungry?"
"No."
"I'm exhausted, can we just hit the sack?" He asked, toeing off his shoes.
"Yeah sure."
Laurel knew it was stupid to be nervous she and Ivan had slept together for years and now they would be in separate beds but still as she pulled off her shoes and jacket her nerves were on high alert. Her stomach turned and her hands felt shaky.
Ivan climbed onto his bed, collapsing in his jeans and t-shirt and she glanced over at him realizing then they didn't bring their suitcases from the vehicle.
"Do you want me to get the suitcases?" She offered.
"No, just leave them. Get some sleep."
She glanced down at her own jeans and t-shirt, she didn't want to sleep in them but also didn't want to take them off.
"I'll turn off the light and we can both get more comfortable, I promise I won't look." He offered.
"It's nothing you haven't seen before," She said with a shrug.
He shrugged too then, sitting up he stripped off his jeans and pulled his shirt over his head tossing it aside. She looked away, her cheeks flushing. The last time she'd seen him shirtless was a few weeks ago when she'd stopped by his apartment unannounced. He'd been drunk at the time and that made the situation a little less awkward than it was now.
He climbed under his blankets, rolling so his back was to her and she felt a little better that he wasn't looking. She timidly undid her jeans and let them drop at her feet, stepping out of them she then pulled her shirt over her head, she slipped off her bra before pulling her t-shirt back on and slipping under her own covers.
"Thank you," She said gently.
"Not a problem."
Ivan kept his back to her as he reached over to switch off the bedside lamp, what Laurel didn't know and didn't need to know was that his back may have been facing her but the television was facing him. In the small screens dark reflection he had been afforded a view that until now he hadn't realized he had missed.
The ear piercing scream woke Ivan from a deep and dreamless sleep, he bolted up right in the bed confused at first as to where he was. He wasn't in his shabby apartment he was in a shabby hotel along the highway and Laurel was in the other bed, screaming bloody murder.
He tumbled from his own bed, the blankets wrapping around his legs for a minute and tripping him. He hit the dirty, stinky floor and pushed up scrambling towards the other bed.
"Laurel, Laurel, Wake up."
Switching on the light he caught her by her shoulders, her body thrashing beneath the sheets as he gave her a firm but gentle shake.
"Laurel!"
She sat up nearly knocking him over, gasping for air and covered in sweat. She glanced around, seeming confused and pushing a shaking hand through her blonde hair.
"Are you okay?" He asked.
"Yeah, I think so."
"Nightmares?" He guessed.
"Yeah."
"I thought they had gotten better."
"So did I," She said with a shake of her head.
"When did they start again?" He asked.
"I don't know sometime around getting shot and then they got worse after.......after Ezra."
"Why didn't you tell me?" He asked, the hurt evident in his voice.
"Why would I? There's nothing you can do, I'll get through it."
She looked away, a stubborn set to her jaw but he saw the tears that were building in her pale blue eyes. Reaching out he cupped her chin with one hand, forcing her to look at him.
"It's okay to still be scared, Laurel."
She shoved him hard enough he nearly fell off the bed, then she scrambled from the bed herself moving across the room to the mini fridge she pulled out a tiny bottle of whiskey, unscrewing the lid and downing the contents.
"What's there to be scared of? You killed them all."
"Yeah I did but.....I can't undo what they did to you. You never talked about it, maybe you need too."
"It was six years ago, I talked to plenty. To the cops, the therapist, I talked to lots of people just not you."
"You could have."
"No I couldn't because you weren't there, you checked out."
For once he couldn't argue with her, he had checked out and he'd closed off. He'd been away for the day when Ezra called him, the strain in his cousins voice alerting him there was a problem before Ezra even told him the worst. He'd found Laurel, undressed, unconscious on the kitchen floor, she'd been beaten and violated. Somewhere during Ezra rattling off where she was taken by ambulance Ivan shut down.
The frantic drive to the hospital, the interviews with the police, taking her home, cleaning up the mess that was made of the kitchen and caring for her all passed in a blur. Ivan could barely remember most of it looking back, like a bad dream that his mind wanted to ignore but Laurel didn't have that luxury, she remembered everything.
At first she tried to talk to him, tried to explain why she recoiled every time he so much as glanced at her, at first he tried to listen but hearing her admit to the things they did to her was too much. Eventually it was easier to not listen anymore, not feel.
He abandoned her in the time that Laurel needed him the most and she had recovered all alone.
"Laurel....." He started to speak.
"Let's just get some sleep, I'll be fine now."
"Will it help if I leave the light on?" He asked.
"No, I'm fine, really."
She tossed the empty bottle into the trash and climbed across the bed, it was at this point he remembered her stripping for bed. She was wearing nothing but a t-shirt and black panties that did everything for her long legs.
Before she pulled the blankets over her body he caught a glimpse of just one of the many scars left behind by that night. It ran from her hip down her thigh to nearly her knee and he knew there were plenty more, he hadn't seen her this undressed in years and had almost forgotten the scars that lay there physically as well as mentally.
She leaned over and switched off the light, plunging the room into darkness. However brief and vague their conversation had been it was over. He stood and walked back to his own bed, climbing under the blankets.
"For what it's worth.....I don't blame you," She said in the darkness.
"I do."
"Ivan...."
"I should have been there, I should have known they would come after you, I should have....." He trailed off, not ready to go where his train of thought wanted to lead him.
"They would have killed you."
She knew they would have killed Ivan had he been home, she knew because it was that threat that they whispered in her ear to keep her from fighting back. Ivan had been the only reason she'd even somewhat cooperated.
"Do you really think we can pull this off with your parents?" He asked, needing to change the subject.
"Yeah, why not? We were in love once, it can't be that hard to fake it just a few days."
"Any ideas on what you'll tell them after this week?"
"I'm still thinking that through. I think maybe if mid way through this week we start to argue and not get along, if we have one good fight then I can tell them it's not working out anymore. They won't be as shocked."
"You really think that's going to work?"
"It's worth a try."
"Laurel......if...if you want to talk..."
"I don't it was a long time ago, I'm talked out."
"Okay, I'll let you get some sleep then."
He stood from her bed and she took that as a sign to slide down deeper into the blankets with a heavy sigh.
As he climbed into his own bed and switched off the light he briefly wondered how long Laurel had been struggling with the nightmares. When they got their divorce they had been getting better, if he'd known she was struggling he might have tried to hold onto his sobriety a little more and tried to help her. The woman in that bed next to his had taken a magazine for him and he didn't even know she was struggling. | LEARN_MORE | https://a.shepherdsapp.com/ad/Zmljd29ybGQvMTYxNDQ1 | 102673059542883 | Shep002 | https://facebook.com/100093452425291 | 60 | 1 | 395,060,146,831,916 | 2024-04-28 02:00 | person_profile | eligible | 0 | 0 | NONE | 0 | 0 | 1 | 0 | Learn more | 0 | Shep002 | 120210486413210659 | a.shepherdsapp.com | NONE | video | https://a.shepherdsapp.com/ad/Zmljd29ybGQvMTYxNDQ1LzIwMjQwNDI1MTAyNzI3L3BhZ2U=?adid={{ad.id}} | 2024-04-24 21:32 | https://scontent-lax3-2.xx.fbcdn.net/v/t39.35426-6/439071769_992582485266231_423000082621398911_n.jpg?stp=dst-jpg_s60x60&_nc_cat=101&ccb=1-7&_nc_sid=c53f8f&_nc_ohc=Wi3ixAw2AWMAb7-TfuR&_nc_ht=scontent-lax3-2.xx&oh=00_AfAQFFWxxRqlXUUEinEh0DlMlRfwhkYDFmjx6xJwFzxknQ&oe=663449CC | person_profile | 0 | Shep002 | https://scontent-lax3-2.xx.fbcdn.net/v/t39.35426-6/439107265_944058787210762_3875969419309570466_n.jpg?_nc_cat=101&ccb=1-7&_nc_sid=c53f8f&_nc_ohc=rlE-yDxYHFAAb4hltJK&_nc_ht=scontent-lax3-2.xx&oh=00_AfCxOVegYGs0YDLuctxcd8895gHUIOkzHuEmX5BlNr2fmw&oe=66343A2C | 0 | 3 | Shep002 | 0 | 0 | 2024-04-27 02:00 | View Edit Delete | |||||||||||||||||||||

She's been riding us for months and we finally decided to give her what she wanted to help Dad save the business."
_____________

New Year's Eve
Another holiday, another day Phil is working. I hate that he's putting pressure on himself but he said they had a lot to do before the end of the year. Since I know most of the office is off today, I decide to surprise him with lunch.
When I arrive at Robinson & Associates, there are only a few cars here. I think about calling Phil, but instead I type in the passcode and sneak in. When I make my way towards his office, a sense of impending dread overtakes me. I shake it off as I continue down the hall to his closed door. When I turn the handle and open it, my entire reality comes crashing in around me.
I stand there momentarily shocked before my brain can process what I'm seeing: Phil and his brother, Mark, both plowing into a blonde they have draped over the desk. Phil is slamming into her from behind while Mark is buried down her throat. Their heads all snap towards me as the food I was carrying goes crashing to the ground. Wide-eyed they appear as stunned as I am. For a second, no one moves but then the mystery woman smirks at me – with Mark's shaft still in her mouth – and it knocks me out of my stupor. Without a backwards glance, I flee.
"Lola!" I hear Phil shout behind me. I'm in my car and peeling out of the parking lot before he has time to pull his pants up and chase after me.
I make it all the way to the house before my emotions overwhelm me. Slamming my hands on the wheel, I wonder how I could be this stupid. How could I not see that he was cheating on me? Of course, he was! The late nights, the weekend work trips, the lack of interest in intercourse. It's all so obvious now.
I give myself a moment to freak out before marching inside to pack a bag. I can't stay here with him, not after this. Not after beating myself up for my marriage not working. Turns out it wasn't a lack of effort on my part. It was because my husband decided to invite other people into it. The prick in question arrives as I'm zipping up my suitcase.
He grabs my arm as I head to the door. "Honey, wait. Please, it wasn't what it looked like. This is all a big misunderstanding."
Why do they always say that? Do they think our eyes don't work? "You weren't spit roasting some bimbo with your brother? You weren't throwing our marriage away for some cheap thrill?" I ask.
"No, I mean yes we were with" – he pauses as he considers his next words – "that woman. But we were doing it for the family. She's the rep for the deal we've been working on. It's what we had to do to get the business. She's been riding us for months and we finally decided to give her what she wanted to help Dad save the business."
"Oh I'm sure she's been riding you for months," I mutter. You and I both know that is a load of trash. I've seen her before at the company picnic. She's your brother's assistant." He's either shocked I remember or for being called out, because he opens and closes his mouth several times without a rebuttal. Good. I shove him back and continue to my car. Before slamming the door, I add, "I'm going to stay with my dad for a while. Don't contact me."
---
Today is my birthday. I've been at my dad's house for the last few days but he left last night to go on a business trip. I almost laughed when he told me and asked if any assistants would be joining him but that is more than I need to know about my dad. Plus, he's a single man. He can do as he pleases. I'm not even a little bit surprised he won't be here for my birthday. It's not like he knew I was coming or that this is the first birthday he'll miss.
My phone is blowing up with messages and calls but I can't bring myself to return any. I haven't told anyone what happened with Phil yet. I'm beyond embarrassed. You never think it's going to happen to you. You never think you'll miss the signs, but then you do. I'm staring at all the messages Phil sent me apologizing, asking me to come home, and gaslighting me about all the reasons he went to another woman. Despite all those messages, I am the most annoyed by the fact that he hasn't acknowledged my birthday. Not that I want him to, but it is telling. I'm scrolling through his string of lies and excuses when a FaceTime from Georgie comes through. I don't want to answer, but I know I have to. Georgie will keep calling until I pick up. I put on a fake smile and hit the answer button.
"It's the birthday girl!"
"Hi, Georgie. How's Barbados?"
"Oh, you know, beautiful weather, beautiful people, delicious drinks, can't complain. Next year you have to let me fly you out to spend your birthday together."
"That would be nice," I reply distractedly.
"What's wrong, Honeybun? You don't seem happy to be turning twenty-seven. Actually, you don't seem happy at all. What gives, Lo? Who do I need to kill?"
I roll my eyes. Georgie has always been overprotective. Apparently not having any siblings of my own meant the Rivera family was adopting me. That gave me two big sisters and a big brother who were all ready to go to battle for me. I'm reluctant to tell the truth since Georgie was never fond of Phil. He was apparently slimy and had 'a face that said he was up to something,' which turned out to be true. This news is not going to go over well.
I go through the events of New Year's Eve and some of the things before that lead up to it. By the end, Georgie's voice is hard and face is red. "I am going to kill that prick. No one treats you like that, Lola. No one. His days are numbered."
"Alright, calm down Rambo. You aren't going to do anything. If you go to jail, you won't get to play with those cute nieces you have or eat your mother's pasteles ever again."
"I'm serious. This is unacceptable. Where are you? You're not going to go back to that loser. I can fly you out to Chicago. You can move in with me. Start over without that prick. You were always too good for him."
"I'm fine, Georgie. I'm at Dad's trying to figure out my next move. I am not moving in with you. There aren't enough noise canceling headphones in the world to make that happen."
That shifts Georgie's expression from dark and stormy to a smirk. Horn dog.
"I don't know what I'm going to do next but for now, I want to lick my wounds. I haven't been happy for a while, crumpling marriage aside," I confess. "I'm considering all my options before making any life-altering decisions."
"My offer stands. You need a place to go, my guest room is always open."
"Thanks Georgie. Go enjoy your vacation! You'll be hard at work again soon."
---
"Bye, Lo. Call me soon."
After a few more weeks at my dad's and increasingly more hostile texts and calls from my husband. I decide that I need a fresh start and to be surrounded by friends. I pull up my group text with Tiffany and Carina and shoot off a message.
11:57 AM
Me
I'm coming to Nashville. I'll get there next Wednesday, same as Tiffany.
Phil will be at an accounting conference all week. I'll head home Monday and pack up everything I need for a new life in Music City. Nashville, here I come...
February
My first days in Nashville have been amazing. Robby hasn't left for spring training yet, but it's been a total estrogen fest at Casa de Becker. Considering he is about to leave his girl for several weeks, Robby has been a good sport about all the rom-coms and rosé present in his swanky condo. Tiffany and I are going to stay here with Carina until he gets back and then we'll move into the two-bedroom unit they bought a couple floors below.
A few nights before Robby leaves, he wants to make Carina a fancy dinner at home. To make ourselves scarce, Tiffany and I spend the night exploring Nashville. We stumble across a cute champagne garden that is right up Tiff's alley. As we sip our bubbles, I can tell my blonde bestie is buttering me up for something.
"So..." she probes. "You left Phil over six weeks ago. Have you made any movement in the separation front?"
"I've contacted a lawyer in Missouri, but I haven't done anything yet. He hasn't been bugging me lately and I know the second he gets served papers he's going to harass me again. I'm enjoying the peace while I can. I think he finally got the message that it's over but I don't want to tempt fate yet."
"Speaking of tempting things, are you ready to get back out there? Meet some hunk to break your two-month dry spell?"
"Two months? Try eight," I say before I can stop myself. Tiffany chokes on her drink at the announcement.
"Eight?! You haven't had intercourse eight months?" she whisper-shouts causing people at nearby tables to turn their heads.
"Can you shut up? People are staring!"
"I'm sorry. I just... I know you hadn't gotten physical in a while, but your husband didn't have intercourse with you for that long, and you didn't suspect he was cheating? Oh honey, I didn't know it was that bad. You'd think the dude would throw you a bone now and then, especially when you were offering. Who turns down a free lay?"
"Excuse me," I huff, affronted.
"I wasn't calling you easy, babe. I'm simply pointing out that it is a lot more work to go and find a mistress or a rando than it is to have intercourse with your wife. Wow. And you're a knockout. Phil is dumber than I thought he was."
"Can we not talk about this in public?" I ask with heated cheeks.
"Oh, no ma'am. We are talking about this. I cannot let this injustice stand. We are getting you laid ASAP."
"I am not going home with some random guy we meet at a bar tonight. I can't handle that stress or potential rejection right now."
"Fine," she sighs, then perks up. "What if I knew a way you could have intercourse with someone who would for sure not turn you down?"
"I'm not hiring a hooker," I deadpan.
"Not a hooker, babe. There is a club here that offers a service for finding sexually compatible people and getting them together. It's all between consenting adults and no money exchanges hands – except the membership fee."
"I don't want to have intercourse in some shady nightclub."
"Not a nightclub. And it's not shady, it's super classy. You fill out a profile and they find someone who matches your preferences. Everyone who is approved has been vetted. I signed up a few weeks ago but haven't been yet."
"Tiff, you have guys hanging all over you. Why do you need to go to a club for intercourse ?"
She shrugs. "Sometimes it's nice to have a partner who already knows what you want. That way, you don't have to go through all the pesky guesswork and pretend you don't want him to spank your hip and call you his 'naughty girl.' Plus, there are a few things I enjoy that aren't exactly one-night stand or first date material like—"
I hold my hand up to stop her. "I don't need to know all that, and I don't think this is a good idea."
"Come on, Bunny. It's perfect. It's a sure-fire way to rip off the Band-Aid with someone who won't reject you and knows exactly what your boundaries are. It's ideal for a novice!"
"A novice, really?"
"Oh, I'm sorry. Did you have a lot of sexcapades you never told me during between homecoming and freshman spring semester when you met Phil?"
"No..."
"Exactly," she exclaims. "You need someone who knows how to get you off and how to keep you comfortable. I'll help you complete your profile and make sure you get the match you need."
She's staring at me with big blue puppy dog eyes. It's hard to say no when I know she's trying to help me.
"Fine," I concede. And that's how later that night I end up huddled in bed with Tiffany answering an exceedingly thorough questionnaire about my sexual preferences.
"I don't even know what some of this stuff is," I say.
"Like what?"
"Like water spots. Do they mean jet skis?"
"They mean being peed on," she replies nonchalantly.
"Seriously?"
"Seriously."
"Why do you know that?"
She smirks at me before answering, "I've been with my share of kinky former child stars."
"Oh my God."
"Hey, don't knock it till you try it. I didn't get peed on."
"That is way more than I needed to know. Ugh, this is going to be the most vanilla questionnaire they've ever received. They aren't going to let me in."
"Oh please. I'm sure you've got some secret kinks in there you don't even know about. Let them worry about that. All you need to do is answer honestly."
After another hour of filling it out, Tiffany convinces me to submit an application. Later, I go to bed embarrassed but also optimistic that I'm taking steps forward even if I have no intentions of stepping foot inside that club.
* * *
"I can't believe I let you convince me to do this," I yell over the blow dryer.
"Shut up. You're going to love it," Tiffany replies with an eye roll. "You're going to meet some hunk to rail you into forgetting all about that small-shafted son of a bimbo who called himself a man."
"Are we sure this is a good idea?"
Tiffany puts down the blow dryer and meets my eyes in the mirror. "This is going to be great for you, Lo. I promise."
I nod my head and she returns to helping me get ready. After she's done, I slip into the navy velvet dress she forced me to buy for the occasion. The fabric is smooth against my skin and the cinched waist gives the illusion I was gifted the curves of my Italian ancestors.
"it pays to have someone who went to beauty school as your bestie," Tiffany comments, coming into the room. I haven't had the nerve to peek yet.
I breathe at my reflection.
"Yeah babe, you look hot ."
"You are a magician, Tiff. I can't believe you made me look this good."
"Yeah, whatever. You're a little Aphrodite and some guy is going to cream his pants at the sight of you tonight," she says as she downs the rest of her champagne. "Alright, Bunny. Let's roll out. Don't forget to grab your mask if you want to keep up the mystery."
"Here goes nothing," I mumble as we walk out the door.
• BRADY •
"Good seeing you as always," Declan Ryder says as he slaps my shoulder and makes his way out of Cole's office. Declan, Cole Viatello, and I are co-owners of Club Hedone, a intercourse and kink club in Nashville. The club got its name after Hedone, the goddess of pleasure and enjoyment. She was the daughter of Eros, god of love and intercourse , and Psyche, the goddess of the soul.
The three of us meet every couple of months to talk about the club and make big (read: expensive) decisions. Declan and I may be co-owners/investors, but we both have day jobs – if you can call being a top-selling musician and MLB first baseman 'day jobs.' Cole runs the day-to-day and is the majority owner.
As I am about to leave, Cole grabs my attention after glancing at his phone. "Fancy staying to play tonight, Miller?" he asks.
While I help in the club when I can, serving as a monitor or taking part in demonstrations, I don't play often. It's not that I don't want to or that my tastes are so particular that it is hard to find a playmate. It's the opposite in fact. On the BDSM-kink spectrum, I rank pretty basic.
Sure, I've done all the training and know the ins and outs of being a Dom, but it isn't really my jam. I absolutely have dominant tendencies, that is part of my personality and always will be. But I am not a Dom in the traditional sense. It can be fun to play in that dynamic sometimes to release some energy or assert control, but I don't enjoy the full power exchange that many subs are after. Nor am I into other BDSM categories like DDlg or pet play. In my everyday life especially, I don't want a relationship where I impose rules and punishments. I simply want a sweet partner I can support and care for who doesn't mind that I can be a bit of a bossy prick.
"I wasn't planning to play tonight," I respond. "We leave for spring training next week. I've got a lot to take care of before we go."
"Think I could persuade you?" Cole questions.
"Something wrong?"
"Wrong? No. An inconvenience? Yes. One of the House Doms had an emergency and can't be here tonight. We had him matched with a woman here to play for the first time. I don't have anyone else available who would match her profile. I'd do it but I am overseeing a demonstration in the medical play room.
"She's a beginner and her questionnaire shows her interests as pretty mild. I thought you'd be a good fit since I know you don't get into the hard stuff and enjoy the sweethearts. It could be a good last hurrah before you go."
"It has been a while since I've played," I concede. "What the heck, sure. I could use some fun before spending several weeks surrounded by sweaty, whiny dudes."
"Awesome, thanks, man. Eric will have her file for you upstairs."
* * *
I head up to the second-floor reception area where I see Eric and Willa. Eric is the member relations manager and Willa is one of the attendants who help get people settled into their various rooms and assists House Dominants.
"Mr. Miller, I didn't know you'd be joining us tonight," Eric greets.
"I wasn't planning to, but Cole mentioned you had a Dom out and that I might be able to fill in with a new guest," I reply.
"Oh, I'm glad it's you," Willa gushes. Seeing my confusion, she continues, "I met the woman you're being matched with tonight. She is definitely going to need an experienced hand. She was a little nervous and unsure. Very cute, though. She's totally your type." She blushes, realizing she is rambling.
"That is good to know. I am happy to help," I remark as one of the House Doms, Craig, comes up to get his pairing. He grabs both files from Eric and hands mine over to me. He flips through his and sets it back on the desk with a dissatisfied expression
"I can lead you to the rooms," Willa comments. "They've been waiting for a little while. I bet they're getting antsy."
"We can find the way on our own. This isn't our first rodeo," Craig sneers, condescendingly. I make a mental note to have Cole talk to the Doms about how they speak to staff members. He shouldn't be giving her attitude for doing her job.
"Thank you for the offer, Willa," I say.
I review the file of the woman I'm meeting before giving it back to Eric. She has a degradation kink. I'm surprised Cole thought I would be the right match for her. Don't get me wrong, I can play any role, but the way he and Willa were talking about her led me to believe she was a good girl-type. I typically go for women who are more into praise than degradation, but since I'm playing substitute tonight, I guess I get what I get.
I make my way down the hall after Craig. When I get to the doorI knock hard before turning the handle. When I open it, I am met with the sight of a beautiful creature standing in the middle of the room. Not only is she short, but she is also slender with slight curves shown off by a tight dark, velvet dress.
Her long brown hair is striking against her metallic mask, but none of that compares to the big, hazel eyes that bore into me. After I take her in for a few moments, I realize I haven't said anything, and she is frozen in place. Her file made it sound as if she has a good understanding of what she wants in bed, but Cole did say she was new. As the Dom in this scenario, it's up to me to make the first move.
"Are you going to stand there staring at me all night you dirty little bimbo? As much as I enjoy your eyes devouring me, I have plans to bang them into the back of your head," I say in greeting.
She sucks in a breath but other than that, she doesn't make a move. She must need a bit more prodding.
"Not used to man calling it like he sees it? Not used to a man ready to use your body for his pleasure? Don't worry, if you're a good little bimbo, I'll make sure you're so exhausted you sleep for a week," I promise. "Come here."
That kicks her into gear and she slowly makes her way closer to me. As she does, I drink her in. Everything about her is breathtaking, despite her small stature. I think my hands could span her entire rib cage.
"She does know how to obey. That's good, pet. Turn around." As she spins, I see her small curves in her dress. My hands itch to touch the soft fabric, but I need to ensure she is ready for everything about to happen first. While her back is to me now, we are standing in front of a full-length mirror. I wait for her to meet my gaze before I keep going.
"Do you remember everything they went over in your paperwork?" I ask. She nods in response. It's then I realize I haven't heard her talk yet. "Words," I grit. I need her verbal acknowledgment before this goes further.
"Yes," she breathes out quietly. Alright, then we're good to go. Examining her, it is hard to believe she is into degradation. I know you can't always tell someone's kink by their appearance, but she has this air of sweetness and vulnerability to her with those big doe eyes. I'm not here to yuck anyone's yum, though. If this pixie wants to be degraded, degraded she will be.
"Normally I'd tell a bimbo like you to get on your knees, but I don't think you'd be able to reach my shaft from there. Take off your dress and kneel on the bed." When she remains where she is, I give her a sharp slap on the hip and tell her to get moving.
She quickly goes over to the bed and glances at me from across the room. I walk over to the dresser and start to get more comfortable. I remove my watch and take off my jacket. I take my time scanning her body without her dress. Her perfect breasts and pert, pink papillae are on display as she kneels in a pair of delicate lace panties.
I can't help but smirk as I watch her check out my abs and chest. I earned this body through hours spent at the gym and in practice. But I have never felt as proud of it as I do now with how her gaze eats me up. When her eyes snap back up to mine, I address her again.
"Look at you on your knees waiting for me. You're needy, aren't you? Pathetic and desperate for my shaft? Your greedy private part is going to have to wait until I'm ready. I want you begging for it before I give it to you," I state.
I expect to see heat flare in her eyes or watch her clench her thighs, but her body language and facial expression don't give anything away. If I was an outside observer, I would say she wasn't into this, but she is the one who filled out the profile questionnaire. She'd have no reason to lie unless she was trying to get paired with a specific Dom based on kink. There is no way for her to know who she'd match with, though. Profile matches are random and based on availability and preferences which can vary by the day. While newbies are only matched with House Doms or other approved, experienced members, regular members can match with each other.
The idea that she might have wanted to be with someone else tonight causes pain in my chest. This little doll is mine – at least for tonight, anyway. Doll is the right word for her with her big eyes and delicate features. I wish I could peer into them again, but she isn't making eye contact, it's almost as if she's staring through me which will not do. I guess I need to amp this up another level.
"What's wrong, pet? You don't want me to call you desperate? But you are, aren't you? You came here tonight to be my doll. Desperate for me to make a mess of you. That's what you want, isn't it? To be my pathetic little bimbo?"
Just when I think she is going to respond, she bursts into sobs. For a moment, I freeze. What is happening? I've never had anyone react this way to me before. Sure, I've had partners tear up after an intense climax but never full body weeping. I know part of degradation is humiliation, but that should be turning her on, not making her cry.
I move toward her to try to offer a comforting touch but she flinches back and clambers to the other side of the bed. "Why are you being mean to me?" she gets out in between sobs.
Mean? That isn't the word most people would use in this context. I know she isn't experienced, but her file said degradation was her kink. She thinks I'm being mean to her? Isn't that what she wanted? Something is not right. This has gone all wrong since the second I walked into the room. I need to see where she is at ASAP. I need to turn this encounter around.
"Color?" I inquire.
I think she says, "what?" in between hiccups.
"What color are you?"
She takes a few deep breaths and manages to get an answer out. "White, although I'm Italian... Maybe olive?"
White? Olive? What the heck is she talking about?
"No, baby, what stoplight color are you? Green, yellow, or red? Do you need to safe word?"
She stares at me for a minute before responding, "Safe word? We aren't having intercourse yet."
Who gave this woman her safety spiel? A safe word can be used any time in any circumstance. Before I can tell her that, there is a loud, persistent knock at the door. I don't want to walk away while she is crying, but she doesn't want my comfort and the knock is insistent.
I open the door to find a flustered Eric.
"What?" I grit. "There better be an emergency if you're interrupting a session."
"What file did you read? What did it say?" he rushes out, voice sounding slightly panicked.
"The one for this room. New, probationary member into degradation and open to impact play, bondage, and a variety of toys," I repeat.
he exclaims as he runs his hand though his fair. "I think the files got switched when Craig grabbed them. The one you read wasn't for her."
"What?" I grouse. If that's true, this is a huge mix up and reflects terribly on the club. We need to figure this out now to make sure it is a one time issue caused at the desk and not a systematic error.
I turn to the woman – who has thankfully stopped crying and is now only sniffling – that I will be right back. I take one last glance at her before I leave and head to meet Cole up front.
When I return to the room a few minutes later, I am disappointed but not surprised to see she is gone. She must have left through the side stairs because I would have seen her walk by the desk. I read her file when I was there. She is not into degradation at all. In fact, she might be on the entire other end of the spectrum. No wonder she reacted the way she did. I hate that she ran out and I'm not able to fix this situation. There is no telling where this encounter left her emotionally.
The idea that something I did could have hurt her sits heavy in my chest as I proceed to Cole's office to discuss what happened. I know the client relations team will try to follow up with her, but I doubt she'll respond. I could probably get into the application portal but that would be highly unethical and I would be guessing which profile was hers, anyway. Hopefully, she'll return to the club in the future and I can make it right. | LEARN_MORE | https://a.thepopfic.com/ad/UG9wRmljLzE2MTYwOC8yMDI | 104059476000396 | Pop002 | https://facebook.com/100092368062082 | 66 | 1 | 3,777,751,662,457,366 | 2024-04-28 02:00 | person_profile | eligible | 0 | 0 | NONE | 0 | 0 | 1 | 0 | Learn more | 0 | Pop002 | 120210397061090398 | a.thepopfic.com | NONE | video | https://a.thepopfic.com/ad/UG9wRmljLzE2MTYwOC8yMDI0MDQyNTExMDA1NC9wYWdl?adid={{ad.id}} | 2024-04-24 22:04 | https://scontent-hou1-1.xx.fbcdn.net/v/t39.35426-6/437683300_7241577035952377_4607422861732452337_n.jpg?stp=dst-jpg_s60x60&_nc_cat=107&ccb=1-7&_nc_sid=c53f8f&_nc_ohc=8hAJwS_SAeMAb4Uo9vN&_nc_ht=scontent-hou1-1.xx&oh=00_AfDWBQMeDdKAw8nyRJYdTUR1-rdNTog5opgun_Z8z_N4ag&oe=6634615B | person_profile | 0 | Pop002 | https://scontent-hou1-1.xx.fbcdn.net/v/t39.35426-6/438087385_1807646703060396_6790293944630419056_n.jpg?_nc_cat=111&ccb=1-7&_nc_sid=c53f8f&_nc_ohc=SyS4aYFbrz8Ab481AMT&_nc_ht=scontent-hou1-1.xx&oh=00_AfC7A2wLJjC1HNWhGbA_3BL17I_U-TYsbLMdlxHPo-GM7Q&oe=6634496E | 0 | 3 | Pop002 | 0 | 0 | 2024-04-27 02:00 | View Edit Delete | |||||||||||||||||||||

I almost lost my mobility and independence 😮

I was 59 at the time, and for the next 8 years, I tried everything to alleviate the excruciating back pain and disability (especially in my lower back), but nothing worked.

I couldn't even keep up with my grandchildren; they were growing up, and I wasn't able to enjoy those moments.😭

I consulted several specialists and spent thousands on different therapies and procedures, but to no avail...

I was so sad and upset, but there was nothing I could do.

Then one Friday night, scrolling through my Facebook feed, I came across a "special video". It was about a discovery that had been successfully used to treat tens of thousands of patients suffering from the most hopeless cases of back pain, knee pain, shoulder pain, and everything related...

More importantly, these researchers found a simple 20-second method that can undo the damage and fix 90% of back pain and arthritis cases.

It's up to seven times more effective than any addictive painkillers or dangerous back surgeries because it blocks the pain nerve fibers deep in your tissues and targets the real root cause of back and joint pain.

I was skeptical, but I figured it didn't hurt to try; I was willing to do anything to make these unbearable pains stop...

So, I started applying this method for 20 seconds every night...

After a few days of using this method, I felt my spine begin to loosen, and the pain began to disappear...

2 weeks later, I was a completely different person... I looked like a new person, I was finally able to keep up with my grandchildren 😀

My mood improved, and since then, my husband hasn't left me alone... lol ❤️🔥 and I finally regained my freedom!

I'm so grateful to have found this method... It truly was the answer to my prayers...🙏

Tap "Learn More" to see how this method changed my life. | LEARN_MORE | https://www.tubesmastery.online/bp | 126993620489654 | Tube Mastery | https://facebook.com/61550651978754 | 26 | 0 | 1,712,585,416,237,314 | 2024-04-28 02:00 | person_profile | eligible | 0 | 0 | NONE | 0 | 0 | 1 | 0 | Learn more | 0 | Tube Mastery | 120208690619630783 | www.tubesmastery.online | NONE | video | https://www.tubesmastery.online/bp | 2024-04-27 12:20 | https://scontent-lga3-2.xx.fbcdn.net/v/t39.35426-6/438088161_813016127400964_7861602684983866662_n.jpg?stp=dst-jpg_s60x60&_nc_cat=107&ccb=1-7&_nc_sid=c53f8f&_nc_ohc=-2VnSAW_ecgQ7kNvgGro4y4&_nc_ht=scontent-lga3-2.xx&oh=00_AfC4LhYuQuDRTnNubGvmT5BofJDn6dZ8zWGO8OePfO7JDw&oe=66344768 | person_profile | 0 | Tube Mastery | https://scontent-lga3-2.xx.fbcdn.net/v/t39.35426-6/437595523_447236717885333_6793793098501767770_n.jpg?_nc_cat=101&ccb=1-7&_nc_sid=c53f8f&_nc_ohc=NRFjP8rctvkQ7kNvgFPqeEF&_nc_ht=scontent-lga3-2.xx&oh=00_AfCabgGjpOJOxJToqOoBgtweBkv9IeN20wrol0K672yJ6A&oe=66343CED | 0 | 3 | Tube Mastery | 0 | 0 | 2024-04-27 02:00 | View Edit Delete |
