There’s not always time for makeup or to do your hair so going faceless was a no brainer.

🌸On instagram most people post their faces and that becomes primary on there page. But, the idea of having a niche presence and the idea of creating great content is a thrilling challenge.

📱So with digital marketing that’s taking social media by storm, the potential to showcase my business in a faceless manner on social media platforms like Instagram was too enticing to ignore.

🌸What began as a leap of faith soon evolved into a strategic endeavor to redefine how businesses engage with their audience in a fun and biblical way.

🌷Exploring the possibilities of a faceless Instagram presence opened doors to creative freedom and endless opportunities for growth.

💐Posting videos with great captions, and having the opportunity to help someone is fulfilling.

🌻What’s more it’s a free space where businesses of all sizes can thrive and connect with their target audience on a deeper level.

🌟 With my faceless Instagram, I’ve discovered that building a brand doesn’t always require showing a face – sometimes, it’s the mystery that truly captivates.

🕊️This is your time and your year.

🫶Whatever you do let God lead your every step to sucess.

Like and follow for more! 📌

christianbusiness #jesuslover #christiancreative #digitalmarketing #marketingdigital #shygirl
#baddie | INSTAGRAM_MESSAGE | http://instagram.com/faceless_withrach | 266236906570620 | Faceless With Rach | https://facebook.com/61557461069521 | 0 | 1 | 326,355,273,808,305 | 2024-05-02 02:00 | person_profile | eligible | 0 | 0 | NONE | 0 | 0 | 1 | 0 | Send message | 0 | Faceless With Rach | 120208924422260250 | instagram.com | NONE | video | http://instagram.com/faceless_withrach | 2024-05-02 17:30 | https://scontent.fagc3-1.fna.fbcdn.net/v/t39.35426-6/440770427_974653590854348_1451704582942456857_n.jpg?stp=dst-jpg_s60x60&_nc_cat=108&ccb=1-7&_nc_sid=c53f8f&_nc_ohc=qZp02wnYZ08Q7kNvgFIUUde&_nc_ht=scontent.fagc3-1.fna&oh=00_AfBHM5AcJQp0H4u2cfPpugN_Yf_Bn-kBzuGQoHHz7uOvRA&oe=663A7B4A | person_profile | 0 | Rach | Helping You to Monetize Instagram | https://scontent.fagc3-1.fna.fbcdn.net/v/t39.35426-6/440398502_1526477194567110_3279099397298897619_n.jpg?_nc_cat=109&ccb=1-7&_nc_sid=c53f8f&_nc_ohc=p-CBJGvFy9UQ7kNvgE5TuuX&_nc_ht=scontent.fagc3-1.fna&oh=00_AfBWk38FyZYSaCb5_H_PkA4KuWhPvVzjCc6jiflYdNbbCg&oe=663A9001 | 0 | 3 | Faceless With Rach | 0 | 0 | 2024-05-02 02:00 | View Edit Delete | ||||||||||||||||||||||

Yes | 2024-05-03 04:04 | active | 665 | 0 | 317184767868427 | 🔥🔥 Click to Read 👉🏻👉🏻 | "Mate!" I looked up at her and my mouth fell open to the floor.
Gone was the chubby girl with the unruly curls and freckled face of my dreams. Stood before me was a Goddess. Her long legs seemed to stretch forever, her skin golden and smooth.
She was strong, lean, and muscled. Utter destruction, yet devastatingly gorgeous. Her lips curled back over her teeth in a snide smile as she looked down her nose at me.
"Hello, Duke" she breathed, her voice husky and seductive. "Did you miss me? And regret rejecting me five years ago?"
————————
Grace's POV
Paul, I’ve told you a million times, I’m not ready yet!” I exhaled with visible impatience
“I don’t understand the wait!” He snapped back, his nostrils flaring in anger. “We both know that this is what we want - you haven’t changed your mind... have you?” he asked after a moment’s hesitation.
I flinched as the face that haunted my dreams flashed behind my eyes for a moment, shocking me to the very core of my being that he still had this effect on me. It was one thing to come to me at night when I had no thought or control over the visions that took place but during the day? I couldn’t let him keep this level of control over me! His voice boomed around my head, as I knew it would. The voice always followed his beautiful image. He had been beckoning me for days.
“Of course, I’ve not changed my mind, I just need some more time. I haven’t even told my dad about us...”
Paul interrupted me with a scoff, “please!” he spat as he rolled his eyes at me. “You haven’t spoken to your dad in 5 years, don’t bring him into it! You didn’t even attend your mother’s funeral, they’re not important to you”
My wolf growled out a firm warning, reminding him without words who was the more dominant wolf here as well as his status in my life. Now was not the time to push me.
“My life is complicated, Paul! My parents and I... Look, ” I muttered, my voice becoming firmer. “I won’t be pushed on this. I said I’m not ready, and that was the end of it. If you’re not willing to wait, that’s fine, you know where the door is, but don’t you dare stand there and deliver orders to me as though I’m your bimbo.”
“Grace...” Paul extended his arms to me, looking suddenly apologetic as he realized my infamous anger was close to bubbling over.
I shrugged his hands away before he could make contact with me. “No. You don’t get to turn on the puppy eyes and say you’re sorry and that you’ll wait for me. I’ve heard it all before.” I closed my eyes against the voice in my mind that was growing louder and more demanding: It's time, Grace. You need to come home. I won’t tell you again. Remember who your Alpha is. Remember what you did, Grace. You owe them.
Did I owe them? The nerve of him! I owed nobody in the NightWalker pack anything! They had never given me anything that I hadn’t paid for with my blood, sweat, and tears... so many tears!
“I just want you to be accepted into the pack, Grace,” Paul stressed, snapping me out of my internal rant. “It’s been 5 years and you still haven’t accepted the alpha’s offer and left your old pack behind. The other members here are whispering about you. We let you off when you were young and afraid, but you turned 18 two years ago. It's time you made yourself a permanent fixture here”
“Oh, and I suppose choosing you as my choice mate is the only way to do that, is it?” I shot back, my voice dripping in sarcasm.
“No, I just...”
“If the alpha has a problem, you tell him to come and speak to me. Now, if you’ll excuse me...” I bumped my shoulder against his with more force than was necessary as I made my way past him. I had surprised myself by my sudden decision, but I knew in my heart that this was right. This was what I had trained so hard for all these years.
“Where are you going?” he asked as his eyes followed me out of the door.
I almost laughed as his eyes grew wide at my response. “To pack my cases. I’m being summoned”
I couldn’t ignore the alpha call any longer. It was time to go home and face up to my past.

Duke’s POV
“Will she come?” Thomas asked as he clutched my hand, his words slurred and slow.
I smirked as an image of Grace came to mind. Grace had always been the “good girl”. The one that had never wanted to rock the boat. Of course, she would come home.
“She’ll come back Thomas, you have my word on that one. Don’t worry about anything, you just concentrate on getting better, let me deal with this.” I rose, intending to leave him now that I had put his mind at ease, but the hand that was clutching mine suddenly tightened, his nails digging into my skin as his eyes grew large, appearing almost frantic.
“You’ll tell her I’m sorry, won’t you, Alpha? You’ll tell her I didn’t mean it, that I was stupid? I wasn’t in my right mind! Moon Goddess forgive me,” he whispered, tears spilling down his cheeks as he sank back on the bed, weakened by the fierce display of emotion he had shown.
I frowned down at him as his eyes closed, and his breathing became shallow and even, showing that he had exhausted himself to sleep.
What was all that about? I wondered, thinking back to the night that Grace had left. I knew they had argued, the two of them were always butting heads, but as far as I was aware, it wasn’t anything that would warrant this reaction.
Both had a different story to tell. Thomas and Helen would say Grace was troublesome, and difficult to deal with. She was promiscuous and sneaky, unable and, most importantly, unwilling to partake in her responsibilities to ensure the pack ran smoothly.
Grace would tell tales of her abuse at the hands of her parents, how they treated her like dirt and physically hurt her for no other reason than hatred. They had wanted a boy, a male heir, to replace them as Beta of the Night Walker pack. Grace was ashamed of the fact that she was no better than a null. Her parents were psychotic in their disappointment, blaming her for everything that went wrong.
My jaw hardened. The Grace I thought I had known was nothing but a mirage - a personality that she had conjured up to seem more appealing, to gain more sympathy as the damsel in distress. She played a clever game and knew exactly what it was she was doing.
She had probably stayed away this long to punish her father even more. She hadn’t turned up for her own mother’s funeral, so it showed how little she cared about the parents that had done their best for her. I knew now that she had blinded me. I had gotten too involved, and believed this teenager when she stared into my eyes and made declarations she had no intention of keeping. She didn’t know how to tell the truth.
Never mind that I had also seen with my own eyes the side of her she had tried to hide from me - I should have been more suspicious of her when she appeared that night. Should have kept my guard up. I was saved in the nick of time by her stupidity.
The cynical side of me sneered in revulsion as a thought came to mind - she was bound to return home once she got wind that her father was on his deathbed. Greedy, money-hungry Grace would be all too happy to hear that she was to inherit everything. Even after the way she had treated Thomas, he had made sure that she was still in the will to manage the entire estate as well as keep her position as the next Beta.
I had been clinging to a shred of hope that she hadn’t left the pack yet, despite being accepted into another one almost as soon as she left, because she wanted to keep some sort of connection to me, that I wasn’t just a pawn in her game to rise through the ranks. Now though, I could see clearly. She hadn’t left so she could make sure she had a higher position to return to should her new pack not work out.
I could feel her presence getting closer, her scent becoming stronger. She was on her way back home and this time, I would be the one to come out on top, she would not fool me again.
I laughed as I left Thomas’ room and made my way to the office. Grace was to inherit everything, including the position as my Beta. She would finally make good on the sweet promises she had whispered in my ear all those years ago, whether or not she liked it, and this time I would be ready for her.
I made my way to the greeting room of this house, instinctively knowing that Grace would return to her childhood home as though she owned the place - which she technically would in a few days if the pack doctor was to be believed. Whilst her scent continued to tantalize me with its sweet aroma, I forced myself to remember her bitter lies and to plan, to try to think what games she was planning on playing with me this time round. I needed to have a checkmate move for every eventuality.

Grace's POV
"Just look at it, Thomas! 15 years old and she's yet to shift!"
"It's not the shifting we need to be concerned about, Helen, the poor girl is the weight of a full-grown male wolf. Its an embarrassment. Not a single wolf has even looked in her direction! We'll never be able to mate her off and get her out of our hair at this rate!"
"Even the Alpha has started laughing at our bad fortune. I swear on the hand of the great Goddess, we would have fared better had we remained childless. She'll never pass as a beta, she can barely pass through a doorway!"
"Helen" Thomas said with a laugh and a playful shake of his head
"Oh come now, Tom, you know it to be true! Poor Duke is mortified after you revealed her little secret! At least his future mate doesn't have to worry about any competition! Who could be threatened by a plain Jane like our daughter? Just get her out of my site! She's an abomination!"
I shook my head to clear the ghosts of my past. It seemed the closer I got to my home pack, the louder the voices of my parents resounded in my mind.
My wolf was almost feral as she growled her temper, demanding that I set her free with every mile we drove closer. She wanted to wreak havoc on all those who had shamed and humiliated us, but I wouldn't allow her to have her freedom. I never usually denied my wolf her needs, we had spent so many years apart, struggling to connect that when she finally came through for me when I needed her the most, I had sworn to make her the happiest wolf the world had known.
Except this time. This time I had to put my foot down and order her back into the deepest, darkest corner of my mind and suppress her powers - we both needed reigning in. It would do us no good to reveal all of our cards, this was a game of cat and mouse that needed to be played very carefully, I knew that now
Too many times I had laid all my cards on the table, only to find myself cheated and robbed as those that should have protected me fed me to the wolves - no pun intended.
My wolf chuffed in my head, letting me know that she had heard my inner monologue and she wasn't happy about it but she wasn't going to push the matter anymore. She had never forgiven herself. Even though she didn't know why she hadn't been able to come forward and claim me sooner than she did, that didn't stop her from blaming herself for everything that had happened.
Whilst it was true that I may have been able to defend myself better had I had the advanced, honed senses I have today, it wouldn't have saved me completely. Having my wolf wouldn't have made me a mind reader and it wouldn't have stopped others from wanting to hurt me.
I swung my car around the corner with more force than necessary, blaring the horn at the idiot in front of me. I was restless, my skin prickling. Duke was close by. I knew that as surely as I knew the sky was blue.
The awareness that ran through my body didn't surprise me as much as I thought it would. Subconsciously I had always known that the feelings I had for him had never completely faded. Oh, his dad, the old alpha, would laugh along with my beta parents and mock me for my teenage crush but I knew it was so much more than that. Duke had managed to reach a part of me that I thought had been lost forever thanks to the hurtful, spiteful words my parents spat at me
No! My wold raged suddenly, reminding me why we had to be strong. Duke is not the hero he pretends to be, Grace. Remember that! She hissed.
I straightened my back as I indicated for the last turning before I reached "home". No, Duke was certainly not the hero he liked to portray.
He was a monster. The kind that preyed on vulnerable teenagers, striking them when they need love and affection the most, only to shove them to the side when he had his satisfaction.
Although that wasn't strictly true. He had never tried to get me to go any further than I was comfortable with and had turned me down when I tried to make our relationship sexual. Not that it made what he did any better! He had promised me so many things, things that he soon backpedaled on when things got slightly more difficult. I had been so young and naive, wanting to believe in myself and Duke so desperately that I had allowed myself to be wooed with empty words.
I would never be that person again. I now saw the true meaning behind his gentle touches and his soft-spoken words. He was grooming me, wanting to be the one to break in the fat she-wolf who couldn't shift.
It was no secret that my parents despised me. They were both betas born and bred, and their parents before them were also betas. They had wanted a boy, had planned for a boy, bought for a boy and what did they end up with?
An embarrassment if their tales were to be believed. I had always been on the larger side, struggling to control my weight ever since I was a child. It was all too easy to steal into the packhouse kitchen in the dead of the night. The chef there took a liking to me, telling me her stories of a childhood abroad as I ate all the snacks and then some. I laughed along with her as she told me about her life and imagined a world far away from the Inferno I was living
Of course, as soon as my parents found out, they had given Priscilla two choices. Leave as a rogue or be executed on the spot. I never heard her answer, but I did receive her teeth in a small box the next day.
I never mentioned that incident to anyone and never again did I steal away to the kitchen, yet the habit had already been learned. Instead of visiting the kitchens, I would stash whatever food I could find, taking double portions whenever I had the opportunity -one for now, one for later.
The more my weight grew, the more my parents resented me, which meant my eating habits grew worse. It was a vicious circle, with only one victim at the center.
The resentment and hatred between my parents and me built so high that it was inevitable the wall would come crashing down. Thinking of that day, the day I had lost everything, still managed to tear at my heart with the worst possible pain.
I had never forgiven and I would never forget. I had missed my mother's funeral, choosing to say goodbye in my way. I would not pretend for the sake of saving face and presenting a United front for the sake of the pack.
I had spent 5 years reinventing myself, trying to let the demons die and move on. Stupid girl, I should have known that a past like mine would never stay hidden.
I smirked as I caught a glance at myself in the rearview mirror. I had succeeded in one area of my reinvention. It would be a wonder if Duke even recognized who I was. So long as my wolf kept her promised and reigned herself in, he would never know the warrior we had become. He would see me as the bimbo blonde with nothing to offer and honestly? I was okay with that. I would strike when I was ready, and not a moment sooner.

Duke's POV
I began to scent Grace long before the headlights of her car came into view. If anyone else had entered this pack via a car it would raise some eyebrows, yet nothing else was expected of Grace. She could hardly come crashing through the forest in her wolf skin, could she?
I had felt sorry for her growing up. Many children felt as though they were living in someone else's shadow - whether it be the boy who has to follow in his father's footsteps and lead the pack or the girl who wants to train just as hard as her brother but was either ignored or fell short of the expectations. Grace was much worse. She was living in the shadow of a child that didn't exist but that her parents still loved.
Even in my bitterness, I could see that. She had been starved of affection. That was the only thing that had stopped me from following after her and ripping the head from her shoulders for the hurt she had caused. She did what she did to feel love. Goddess knew she didn't get any from her parents, not the way a child deserves
Everything she did, they would imagine what could have been had they been given a son. If she achieved academically, their son would have done better. If she was a brilliant cook, it paled in comparison to the dishes their son would have rustled up with minimum effort.
When Grace showed signs of being a Nul - a wolf that cant shift - this only solidified the evil hand her parents had been dealt. They believed they had angered the Moon Goddess somehow and so they made a pact to become the best betas for miles around, often leaving Grace to fend for herself with yet another expectation hanging over her head.
I had done what I could for her, displaying small acts of kindness whenever my hectic schedule allowed. I knew that on more than one occasion things had almost gone too far.
Almost.
My wolf growled, the noise vibrating through my temples, reminding me that Grace was not ours, had never been ours. She had shown us that all too clearly. When we had been ready to lay our heart on the table, she had stomped all over it, bursting it under her stiletto heel as she offered herself to another. A wolf that she should never have been messing with but it seemed that she couldn't help herself.
She's disgusting, I reminded myself as the headlights on the car slammed shut and the sound of gravel crunching underneath soft shoes became louder.
As much as I wanted to believe that, I couldn't help but picture the soft, curved body pressed against mine. The memory of that night had haunted me for years. I had stroked myself so many times, imagining what would have happened had we got to live the life we had planned. I would have pulled her body closer to mine, her papillae would have been more than a handful, her creamy mounds spilling over the top of her bra as my hands cupped the, running my tongue along the silky skin. I saw her head tipped back, her parted lips glistening as her tongue ran across them, heard her soft, breathy moans of my name.
Every time had been a vision of perfection, making me release against my hand as she rode me, sending our bodies into heights of pleasure she had never experienced before.
So many nights I had laid awake, full of regrets. Yet I wasn't the one that caused this. She did this. She ruined it.
Still, as much as I wanted to deny it, I was looking forward to seeing her once more, to seeing if the connection was still there.
The door slammed open, leaving a dent in the wall as it crashed against it.
I scented the warm, vanilla scent of Grace, smirking as I prepared for the pathetic, fake innocence she would present. I looked up at her and my mouth fell open to the floor.
Gone was the chubby girl with the unruly curls and freckled face of my dreams. Stood before me was a Goddess. Her long legs seemed to stretch forever, her skin golden and smooth. Her dress brushed against her thighs, floating with every move she made. Her hips were curved slightly, her hands planted on either side, pushing out her small, firm papillae as she threw her straight blonde hair over her shoulder and looked me dead in the eye with a hatred that covered the distance between us and seared into my skin.
She was strong, lean, and muscled. Utter destruction, yet devastatingly gorgeous. Her lips curled back over her teeth in a snide smile as she looked down her nose at me.
"Hello, Duke" she breathed, her voice husky and seductive. "Did you miss me?"
I opened my mouth, ready to spit back at her when my wolf beat me to it. He pounded forward, knocking against my skull as he roared, mate! | LEARN_MORE | https://a.whastory.com/ad/c2VhZ3VsbC8xNjQzNjcvMjAy | 107108135745748 | What2628-eng | https://facebook.com/100093514056404 | 79 | 1 | 761,407,082,731,447 | 2024-05-02 02:00 | person_profile | eligible | 0 | 0 | NONE | 0 | 0 | 1 | 0 | Learn more | 0 | What2628-eng | 120209510245040344 | a.whastory.com | NONE | video | https://a.whastory.com/ad/c2VhZ3VsbC8xNjQzNjcvMjAyNDA0MjgwOTQ3NTQvcGFnZQ==?adid={{ad.id}} | 2024-04-27 20:59 | https://scontent-lax3-2.xx.fbcdn.net/v/t39.35426-6/438259724_478795524477463_7245532485004267506_n.jpg?stp=dst-jpg_s60x60&_nc_cat=107&ccb=1-7&_nc_sid=c53f8f&_nc_ohc=oAt7Gq9Mqj4Q7kNvgE2iBAb&_nc_ht=scontent-lax3-2.xx&oh=00_AfBJCzzH4UG8X5x4GIJrkazX4cAO4SGJvDCqmlY1C1D6_Q&oe=663A79A2 | person_profile | 0 | What2628-eng | https://scontent-lax3-2.xx.fbcdn.net/v/t39.35426-6/440576846_1121648082501671_8092396656322675875_n.jpg?_nc_cat=107&ccb=1-7&_nc_sid=c53f8f&_nc_ohc=F9KMH_m-eksQ7kNvgGiX5mE&_nc_ht=scontent-lax3-2.xx&oh=00_AfA5_gilLVAQDiTPOByXHii1ASdkjrTgMIim247Obm7qIg&oe=663A925C | 0 | 3 | What2628-eng | 0 | 0 | 2024-05-02 02:00 | View Edit Delete | |||||||||||||||||||||

How you slept with your fiancée’s best friend for 6 months and she caught you in the act?"
I knew better than to speak so I just hung my head low as he ranted on.
"I hope it was worth it because you lost the best woman you ever had and now you may just lose the company if this gets out and starts a scandal!"
————————
Kayan
I was betrayed by two people I trusted implicitly, my best friend and my fiancé, or so i thought.
Without saying a word, I bent down and picked up my phone. By this time Dimitri had donned his boxers and his slim fit navy dress pants. Mariana on the other hand was gripping the white sheet, trying to cover her body and was sobbing uncontrollably.
Normally her tears would have stirred some sort of emotion but I felt absolutely nothing looking at her.
Dimitri stepped towards me with his outstretched hand but I stepped back, and when I spoke my own voice surprised me.
Two words, " How long?". I stared at both of them expectantly. Dimitri sighed and rubbed his face, looking at me with regret.
When no response was forthcoming from him, I turned to Mariana and pinned her with a glare. " Shut up Mariana! I asked a question and I need an answer now!" I shouted.
She pulled her knees to her chest as her body shook in fear, she had only seen me angry once so she knew not to taunt me. Dimitri on the other hand, was stunned.
She looked at me and stuttered in fear " S....si...six months", and hung her head low. I absorbed her reply, laughed hysterically, which caught both of them by surprise. They looked at each other shrugging their shoulders and just as I started laughing suddenly, I stopped abruptly.
"Six months you say? I guess this is the part where you'll say it was a mistake, you never meant to hurt me and you're both sorry right?." I spoke calmly, surprising myself.
Dimitri was first to speak " Kay, please I'm so sorry. We were both tipsy after your work anniversary party, and after I dropped her off, everything went to terrible. I'm so sorry baby but..." I laughed again, cutting him off mid sentence.
I held my hand up then turned to Mariana" What about you bimbo, any last words?" Her eyes bulged in fear and I watched her squirm in fear. She knew I could put a bullet between her eyes even with my eyes closed , thanks to my Dad taking me to the pistol range every Saturday for 2 years.
She sprung to her knees, the sheet fell exposing her and I saw all the hickeys along her neck and on her breasts. "Kay please, let's talk about this. I'm so sorry and I regret this. I'm so sorry for hurting you like this, it wasn't planned."
The nerve of this woman, I thought. I should have listened to my gut all those months ago. She kept thwarting our plans, started traveling a lot and would barely take my video calls then. And she kept changing or bashing my wedding plans and like a fool, I brushed it aside.
Dimitri was the same, one business trip after another, late nights and then he was distant. When I asked him about it, he promised to do better than what he did, but there was a subtle change. We no longer have sleep.
Both of them looked at me expectantly, waiting for the weak, docile Kayan to shed tears and assure them everything would be okay.
I dropped my phone into my bag, grabbed my pistol and clicked the safety off. I swiftly fired two rounds which were followed by agonizing screams. I shot Dimitri in his thigh just inches from his shaft while Mariana got hers in her right shoulder. Just enough to cause pain but not be fatal.
I walked out the room but turned to them saying " That's for the betrayal, I never want to see or hear from either of you again. The next time you won't be so lucky."
I descended the stairs shakily, I touched my face checking for tears but there were none. My chest was convulsing but I refused to give in to the pain I was feeling.
As I got to the last step, I looked around, marched over to the fireplace and threw all photos she had of us together into it. I lifted the stoker, broke her 60" Samsung TV and everything went red from thereon. I trashed her apartment then walked out as if nothing happened.
I grabbed my baseball bat from my trunk, smashed all her windows and doors. Just as I about to leave, I saw Dimitri's Silver Range Rover across the street.
How didn't I notice it before?
I walked up to it and repeated my actions. When I was satisfied, I hopped into my van and drove away.
----
Dimitri
I couldn't believe Kayan shot us and simply walked away. I had known her for over 6 years but I never encountered this side of her. I knew I deserved that, worst of all, I ruined the one good thing I had done.
I was thinking with my shaft and not my brain, because in assessing the current situation, Mariana was just a good woman. There is attraction, but the feelings I have for Kayan are deeper.
Her sobs reverberated around the bedroom , bringing me back to the current situation.
When Kayan left the room, I heard her trashing Mariana's apartment downstairs and was about to go after her.
Mariana's words stopped me dead in my tracks, "Leave her be, Dimitri, she will kill you! She needs to calm down first before we approach her." I turned to her slowly, trying to ignore the pain and blood gushing from my wound.
"What do you mean Mari? I'm going after her! There is no us. This was a mistake. I need to talk to her!" I ran my hands over my face then slid my belt around my leg making a tourniquet.
She slid off the bed, gripping the sheet with her uninjured shoulder. " Take it from me, we're lucky to be alive! You have never seen her upset or know what she's capable of in this state but I do!" She tiptoed to the door listening for any further sound from downstairs, but was greeted with silence.
Mariana sat on the stairs shaking and crying while gripping her disheveled hair.
The front door was ajar, I moved to lock it but the sight of Mariana's car took my breath away. I looked across the street to mine and it looked even worst.
I shook my head, sighed and turned too quickly, causing a searing pain in the bullet wound.
I called my driver Michael and told him to be quick and discreet.
Mariana got dressed in the meantime while we waited with bated breaths.
Michael arrived in about 10 minutes, his eyes expressed shock but he knew better than to ask any questions.
He drove us to Wyckoff Medical, the only place I knew would be discreet about what happened.
Using the back entrance, we were quickly ushered into separate rooms for assessment.
As I laid on the bed, I felt Dr. Green prodding my wound for the bullet. He's been our family physician since I was a child, so when he asked who I pissed off this time , I sighed and ignored him.
All I could think about was Kayan, she was my everything!
Not anymore you prick, you screwed up and you're lucky to be alive, I shook my head, trying to shake guilt ridden thoughts from my subconscious.
I reminisced on all the times we spent together, the plans we made for our future and our kids. I reflected on how she supported me even when my own father doubted me. She never gave up on me. You shut up Dimitri!
Dr. Green waved his hand above my eyes while calling my name. " Did you hear anything I said just now?" he asked quietly.
I sighed " No, what is it?". My tone was clipped but right now I didn't care, I could apologize later.
He rolled his eyes before continuing "I said there's a detective waiting outside to talk to you, you know it's my duty to report this." He grabbed a scissors and cut the thread, signaling that he had finished stitching my wound.
"You'll live, but stay off your feet for a few days, and use a crutch if you have to move around." Dr. Green bandaged my leg and was about to leave when I stopped him.
"Wait, I apologize for my behavior Doc. Where's the young lady who came in with me? I need to see her now." He looked at me sadly, shook his head and left the room without a word.
My guess is he figured out why Kayan hadn't rushed into the hospital demanding answers. The realization hit me of how I not only disappointed Kayan but everyone close to me, especially my parents.
I must have dosed off from the pain medication I had gotten as I was woken up by Mariana gently shaking my shoulder and calling my name.
Blinking my eyes to adjust to the bright lights, I grabbed the remote and adjusted my bed. Mariana looked terrible, her hair was unkempt and her eyes were swollen. Her right arm was bandaged and now in a sling.
She sat in the chair beside the bed and hung her head low. " I spoke to the police, I told them we were mugged at the apartment as we were trying to finalize wedding arrangements." It was barely a whisper, but I sighed in relief.
"We messed up but I agree, I'll tell them the same thing. Kayan doesn't deserve this." My throat felt hoarse so I reached for a tumbler with water, poured a cup and took several sips.
" I told you we needed to stop Dimitri but you insisted on coming over!" I pinned her with a glare which caused her to shut up immediately.
The nerve of this woman! I laughed coldly before turning to her " Oh so now it's my fault Mar? Surely you weren't complaining when I rammed your wet dripping private part with my shaft right? You never said stop! Anything else I'm forgetting?" My chest was heaving by the time I finished ranting.
I was about to continue but her sobs erupted. She looked at me lost, guilt etched across her face before she stood to leave.
"Look Mar, I'm sorry okay. I just don't know what to do." I held her wrist, my thumb caressing the inside of her hand in a comforting way. "How did she get in though?"
Mariana was trembling as tears streamed down her face. She took a deep breath before she spoke. "I forgot she had a key from over a year ago. She would always check the place when I traveled for a convention or went to see my family."
My mouth opened to speak but no words were forthcoming and they never came as the door banged open, slamming into the wall denting it.
Jumping with fright, we turned to see my very pissed off father and my distraught mother. Before I could utter a word, he spoke," You, get out now and don't let me see your face again!" Mariana jumped in fear and ran from the room sobbing before I could stop her.
"Dad i can explain...." He slammed his hand onto the small table, knocking the tumbler over.
My mom grabbed his arm, trying to calm him down but he flicked her hand away and grabbed my hospital gown roughly, "Explain what exactly Dimitri? How you slept with your fiancée’s best friend for 6 months and she caught you in the act?"
I knew better than to speak so I just hung my head low as he ranted on.
"I hope it was worth it because you lost the best woman you ever had and now you may just lose the company if this gets out and starts a scandal!"
"I'm going to fix this Dad, just give me a chance please." I turned towards my mom seeking support but she turned her head away from me. " Mom, please I'm sorry, I'll fix this. I'm gonna make everything right."
My Dad simply scoffed at my words, took my Mom's hands and walked out the door.
The only sound that filled the room was that of the water droplets bouncing on the floor.
----
Mariana
I have never been more regretful in my entire life. My head was throbbing non stop, my eyes were puffy from all the tears I'd shed in the past 24 hours. My mind replayed the events and all I could think of, was that I should be dead by Kayan's hands.
My driver dropped me off to the apartment, and as I stepped inside I once again surveyed the damage. Nothing was left untouched, I had to start over but I guess that's the price to pay for stabbing your best friend in the back for six months.
I wanted to stop so many times, I knew it was wrong but Dimitri was like a spirit I couldn't get enough of.
We decided to take the secret to our graves and everything was going great until I saw him a week later at Danny's Cafe. We sat and talked for a while but after an hour when we attempted to leave, the sexual tension was just too much to ignore.
From thereon, we used our lunch breaks and any free time we could muster to screw each other senseless. After each encounter, we'd say it was the last time , but that never happened as soon after I took trips when he did or he came to my apartment before going home.
All this time, I gave Kayan a million excuses as to why we couldn't meet up, continued planning her wedding virtually and offered excuses when she whined about Dimitri being overly consumed by work.
I even ended things with my own boyfriend as our relationship became strained and miserable because of my infidelity.
Now this is the endgame, I lost my best friend who always stood by me and I'm pretty sure Dimitri and I have no future.
Sitting on the stairs, I decided to take a leap of faith and call Kayan. If I could just get her to listen to me for a second, I would tell her how sorry I am and try to fix things.
As I dialed her number, it went directly to voice-mail, and after trying a few more times unsuccessfully, I decided to go see her. I ordered an Uber, waiting outside for a few minutes before the car pulled up.
I got in, gave the driver her address and stared blankly out the window. The only sounds were that of the music playing in the dashboard.
Ten minutes later, I was standing on the curb outside Kayan's townhouse. Hesitantly, I opened the gate, trudged up the steps and rang the bell. I was there waiting for a few minutes, I called her but there was no response.
I walked to the garden by the lamp post where she always hid a spare key. It was gone.
Just as I was about to step from the yard, I was stopped in my tracks by a faint voice. My hopes increased but when I turned around expecting Kayan, no one was there.
What was that then, I thought to myself.
I reopened the Uber app, placed my request and waited by the curb.
"She's not here you know." I was startled by the voice and was relieved to see her neighbor Michael.
"What do you mean? Where is she?" I asked hurriedly.
He eyed me suspiciously before replying,
"Seeing you here looking like poop tells me you had a role in Kay's sudden departure 2 hours ago." His words were true yet hurtful, I castedmy eyes down in shame.
"You don't know, Mike, just tell me where she went, I need to talk to her before it's too late" I begged him.
The prick was nonchalant as he leant against her gate typing away on his phone. After getting a ping, indicating a message, he looked up at me smirking.
"Well if you must know, my girl left for England indefinitely..." he paused, struggling to hold back a snicker, "...Oh and she says you should go yourself or Dimatro, whatever the pretty boy's name is." Michael was now clutching his side laughing hysterically while I sighed in defeat.
She's gone! And now there's no way I will find her because I can't go to her family and I'm pretty sure she's already changed her number!
I didn't warrant Michael a response since the Uber pulled up, I hopped in and left.
My phone began vibrating in my pocket and I grabbed it quickly, just hoping it would be Kayan. I was disappointed as Dimitri's name flashed on the screen.
"What do you want Dimitri? Haven't we done enough, didn't you hear what your father said?" I shouted angrily, catching sight of the driver's raised brows in the rear view mirror.
"Calm down Mari, I wanted to apologize for my Dad. I'm getting discharged now so I'm heading home, I need to sort things out with Kay." Though I had wanted the same thing minutes ago, I couldn't help the pang of jealousy that gripped me.
Before I could stop myself I snarled in response
"Thanks for asking how I'm doing you prick! Oh and don't bother going there because she's gone!"
"What are you talking about Mari! This is not the time to joke with me..." I'd had enough of his nonsense so I cut him mid sentence " Kay's gone Dimitri, I just left the house, she's not home and her neighbor says she left for England." The other end of the line was silent.
I looked at the screen to see if the call had been disconnected but the line was still open.
"Dimitri?" He sighed in response and I heard him grunt in pain, perhaps moving too quickly on his injured leg.
"I'm here Mari. How will I fix things if I don't know where to find her? Of all the places, she had to chose England!? Couldn't she have just gone to her parents? What am I going to do now?"
I wanted to speak but my throat felt as if it was clogged.
I cut the call, switched to airplane mode and rested my head against the window as fresh salty tears rolled down my cheeks.
I lost everything.
My best friend. "
"Elliot, what's going on?" I look at him, then at her, and back at him.
He quickly stands up from his seat. "She was just leaving. Weren't you, Clara?
She bats her eyelashes rapidly. "Honey, I think it's time for her to learn the truth. Don't you agree?"
Clara laughs, looking at me. "I'm the woman who slept with him yesterday and the days before."
"Taylor, please let me explain." He has the nerve to plead with me, after what he did.
No. I won't stay here and listen as he tries to find an excuse for what he did.
"Taylor, please. I want to talk to you." He tries again.
"There's nothing to talk about" I snap at him.

————————

I take the stairs to go to my apartment. I’m so lost in my thoughts, that I don’t pay any attention to my surroundings.
"Watch it!” Someone warns me.
I look up, and a man that I have never seen before is standing right in front of me. He has dark hair cut in a military style and deep blue eyes. I see tattoos on his neck that seem to go all the way down to his torso. I can’t help, but think how handsome he is. I take a step back to put some distance between us.
He must be my new neighbour.
I smile as I present my hand to him. “Hello, my name is Taylor Walker. What’s your’s?”
He glares at me as if I’m already a nuisance to him. “Annoyed.” He let out as he walks past me.
Rude! I say to myself before I keep walking up the stairs.
I unlock the door with my keys and look through my mail. “Bills. Bills. Bills.” I mumble to myself.
I will deal with them later. Right now, all I want is to take a cup of coffee before I put myself pretty for my date with Elliot.
I don’t smoke or drink. My only dope is coffee. I need at least four cups per day, and that’s when I have a good day.
As I make a cup of coffee for myself, I take a disposable cup to make another one. I don’t know why I even bother with this. So why am I purring a second cup for a man I don’t even know, is beyond me.
Okay, I’ll admit. I didn’t like our first encounter.
I wonder if he takes sugar or milk. He seems like a man that likes his coffee black.
I bite my lips nervously as I pass my threshold.
Why am I doing this again? I ask myself on the way to his apartment.
I know where he leaves. He’s my next-door neighbour.
I clear my throat as I knock on his door.
No response.
I knock again.
“What the freak do you want?” He snaps at me while he opens his door.
My heart skips a beat. Maybe it’s because of his deep blue eyes that they keep staring at me as if they want to devour my soul or something.
I smile so he won’t notice how nervous he makes me. “Uhmm, I wanted to properly welcome you to the building.” I give him the cup of coffee that I made for him.
He takes a drag at his cigar, looking at my body all the way up to my eyes. “Are you here, because you want to freak?”
My jaw drops on the floor. “What? No!” I nearly scream at him.
He chuckles, seeing my reaction. “That’s what I thought.” He starts to close the door.
“Wait, you could at least tell me your name.” I won’t back down, even if his words made me uncountable. I put my hand in my chest to give a little drama. “Don’t tell me that a man at your size is scared by a little woman like myself.” It’s my turn to tease him.
I’m five foot tall, and he’s like six. He’s a mountain man.
He takes the cup from my hand. “I’m not scared. Thank you for the coffee, buttercup.” He then closes the door in my face.
Argh!
You don’t get to take my coffee and not answer my question.
I knock on his door harder this time.
“Leave me the freak alone!” He says, glaring at me.
I shake my head stubbornly. “Not until you tell me your name. It’s rude otherwise.”
“You won’t leave me the freak alone, is that it?” He let out a growl. “Owen Blake. Now Piss off!” Once again he closes the door in my face.
I smirk as I walk back to my place.
I look at the time. “Freak! I’m going to be late for my date with Elliot. I have to hurry to get ready.”
I drink my coffee in a hurry and run inside the bathroom to take a shower.
Elliot and I have been together for over a year now. He wants me to move in with him, but I don’t want to. I love my independence and my apartment to give them up.
I brush my teeth after my shower as a towel covers my body.
As I look inside my closet, I wonder what I’m going to wear. I think I’m going to go with my green cocktail dress and some black heels. I decided to put light makeup on myself.
I run, hearing my cell phone inside the kitchen. “Hello.”
“Hey, baby,” Elliot says over the phone. “I’m sorry, but I have to reschedule our date. I have an emergency at work that I can’t get out of.”
I sigh. It’s not the first time that this has happened.
“I can always come over tomorrow.” He suggests.
“Sure.”
“I am sorry, but I truly have to go now. See you tomorrow.” He hung up before I have the chance to say goodbye to him.
I just got dressed for nothing.
I need some air.
I grab my jacket to go upstairs to the rooftop. I love to go there and think.
As I arrive, I stare up at the sky. A full moon is out tonight.
I hear a noise and when I look to where it was coming from, I jump as I see a shadow not far from me.
“Relax, buttercup. It’s just me.” He smirks, seeing my reaction.
I put my hand on my chest while my heart beat fast. “God, Owen. Warn someone before you give them a heart attack.”
He takes a drag from his cigar, as he keeps staring at me.
Will he stop doing that?
“You know, one of these days, this will kill you.” I point at what he has in between his fingers.
He exhales the smoke from his lungs while his eyes try to pierce my soul.
I feel nervous under his stare, but at the same time, I feel drawn to them.
“Who cares how I would die. Eventually, everyone will meet their fate. Not that I care, but where are you going dressing up like that?”
I look down on myself. “I was supposed to go out on a date with my boyfriend. He cancelled at the last minute. He has an emergency at work.”
Owen licks his lips. “Maybe he’s screwing with someone as we speak.”
I cross my arms in front of me, feeling annoyed by him. “Why are you so mean to me? I never did something to deserve this. Besides, I trust him. He would never do something like that to me.”
I take a few steps to leave but stop at the last minute. “All I did was try to be nice to you, and that’s what I get.”
He frowns his eyebrows. “I never asked you freak. It’s not my problem if you can’t handle the truth.”
“Ugh, I’m leaving,” I say as I step further away from him.
“Good riddance.” He says loud enough for me to hear him.
Owen’s words start to hunt me more than they should. I trust Elliot. He’s a good man. I’m sure all he wanted was a reaction from me, and he succeeded.
That’s all and nothing else.
I trust Elliot. I say one more time.

I look around my apartment, and I’m satisfied with the cleaning. I’m not a clean freak. I just love my apartment to be spotless. While I cleaned my apartment, it distracted me from what happened yesterday.

Owen’s words still bother me.

“
Maybe he’s screwing with someone as we speak.”

Ugh! Why did he have to say this?

I know it isn’t true. I trust Elliot. When we spend time together, he never gives me the impression that he’s cheating. He’s always a sweetheart.

I’m so lost in my thoughts that when the door’s bell ring, I jump a little.

“It must be Elliot,” I say to myself as I go to answer the door.

“Hey, baby.” Elliot smiles at me, holding a huge bouquet of red roses in his hands.

Like I said, a sweetheart.

I love roses. I think they are pretty, but they aren’t my favourite kind. The flower that I love the most is called sakura in Japanese. Which means cherry blossom.

“Are those for me?” I ask him.

He smirks. “Why of course. Only the best for my girlfriend.”

“What did I do to deserve such a gift?” I play along.

“Do I need a reason to spoil you?” He wonders in a playful tone. “I saw them, and I thought of you.”

Out of nowhere, someone chuckles behind Elliot. As my boyfriend moves to the side, I see Owen ready to go inside his apartment while he has an arm around a woman’s waist.

Off course.

“
Are you here, because you want to freak?”
I remember Owen saying those words to me.

Stop thinking about this, or you’re going to blush in front of him, and FYI you aren’t interested in him. You have a boyfriend so you can forget it. I scold myself.

“So this is the boyfriend.” Owen looks at the flower in Elliot’s hands. That’s what I thought.” He laughs, guiding his guest inside his apartment.

What did he mean by that’s what I thought?

Is he referring to his words from last night?

Why do I even bother racking my brain over this?

Owen isn’t worth my time if he's acting like a jerk.

Elliot clears his throat once we are inside my place. “So, who was that?”

I take the bouquet from his hands. “Owen Blake, my new neighbour.”

He nods his head, but he doesn’t seem happy. “What did he mean by that what I thought? Did you speak to him?”

I open a kitchen cabinet to grab the vase. “He’s my new neighbour. I couldn’t ignore him.”

Even if he’s an hip.

“So.” He rubs his chin with his fingers. “What did he mean when he said that’s what I thought?” He repeats the question.

I bite my lips nervously. I don’t know how he will react if I tell him, but I can’t lie to him. That won’t be fair. Besides, I don’t have anything to hide.

I pour some water inside the vase. “I told him that you were working late last night, and he said that it was because you were cheating on me. “

He frowns. “Did you believe him?”

I shake my head. “Of course not. I know you will never do such a thing to me.”

He let out a sight. “I don’t like this.”

I turn my head to look at him. “You don’t like what?”

He folds his arms in front of him. “Him. He seems dangerous. You should stay clear of him. Better yet, come live with me permanently.”

Not this again!

We already talked about this. He knows exactly where I stand on that matter. How should I put this in words so I won’t upset his feelings? He barely stepped inside my apartment, and we are already talking about this.

Yes, we argue sometimes. We are a couple. Everyone argues sometimes.

I cut the edges of the roses before I put them in the vase. “ We talked about this. I’m not going to move in with you, just because you dislike my neighbour. I’m a big girl, I can take care of myself.”

Freak!

Was I too harsh?

Elliot inhales sharply, nodding his head.

I know he’s not happy with my answer, but it’s the truth. I’m not saying. I’m saying not right now.

Maybe it’s time to change the subject?

Before I have the chance to do any of that, I feel Elliot’s arms circling my waist from behind. “I’m sorry, okay? I don’t come here to argue with you.

It’s like he read my mind.

I turn around to bring my arms around his neck. “So, how was work yesterday?”

Elliot makes a face, looking at me. “I don’t want to talk about work when I’m with you.”

It’s not the answer that I was looking for. I can’t blame him as I didn’t give him the answer that he wanted. So I will put this matter to the side and concentrate on my boyfriend.

I smile at him. “And do tell me, what do you have in mind?”

Elliot smirks before he pecks my lips. “Trust me, baby, I have an idea, but first I want us to go out, and then later at my place, I will show you what I have in mind.”

Yesterday, I took the time to make myself pretty for our date that didn’t even happen. If he wants to take me out, he will have to take me with what I’m wearing.

I move away from him to go grab my purse and my jacket.

“Are you going to change first?” He wonders, looking at my body.

I put my hand on my waist. “Are you saying that what I’m wearing isn’t good enough for you?

“No.” He’s quick to say. “It's just that I love seeing you in a cute little dress.”

I cross my arms in front of me. “If you haven’t ditched me yesterday, you would have seen me into one.”

“It wasn’t my fault. I had an emergency, and you know it.” His words raise a little as he speaks.

That’s exactly what I wanted to avoid us arguing.

I go to him and peck him on the cheek. “I’m sorry, okay. I don’t know why I said that. I know it was out of hand on my part. Can we go now?”

He leaves a peck on my forehead. “I’m sorry too.”

Elliot takes my hand in his to guide us out of my place. I guess he doesn’t want to argue either.

As we walk, a noise that comes from Owen’s apartment makes me freeze on the spot.

“Yes! Yes! Blake, yes!”

I bite my lips. I never screamed this way when I’m intimate with Elliot. Am I missing something? I’m not saying that our drill life is boring, I’ve never been so loud.

Is it me, or does Elliot make us walk faster than necessary?

I look around after the hostess of the restaurant shows us our table. As I look around, I notice that everyone is wearing nice clothes. We are definitely in a luxury fashion restaurant.

I should have probably listened to Elliot and worn something nicer.

Did he do it on purpose?

No, I’m sure he didn’t. I don’t even know why it crossed my mind.

As I sit on the chair, I notice that the woman who’s sitting to my right is judging me for the way she’s looking at me. Maybe it has something to do with what I’m wearing. I feel undressed. Is it as if everyone’s judging me? I clear my throat, looking at the menu instead.

Elliot didn’t notice anything. He’s on the phone with someone from his work. I don’t mind. I’m used to it by now.

“No. No, this isn’t a good idea.” Elliot frowns as he speaks. He doesn’t seem happy. “We will deal with this tomorrow.” He hung up right after.

I look at him with concern. “Is everything ok?”

“Mmhmm.” He mumbles.

I won’t push on the matter. If he wants to talk about it, he will.

A young woman around my age stands beside us. “Hello, my name is Lucy. I will be your waitress for tonight. Are you ready to order?” She asks with a smile on her lips.

I look through the menu, and even though everything seems delicious. I decided to go with something light. “A Caesar salad for me.”

She nods her head, writing it on her pad. “Anything to drink?”

I shake my head. “No. Just water, please.”

Lucy turns her intention to my boyfriend. “And you, sir?”

“I’m going to go with the lamb shanks and a bottle of your finest beverage.” He closes the menu and gives it to her.

I let out a sigh. It’s not that I’m bothered that he has money, but he doesn’t have to show it every time we go out. He would have brought me to a food truck for our date, and I would still enjoy myself. I don’t need much. Just spending time with him would be enough for me.

Elliot takes my hand once Lucy leaves with our order. “So, what did you do today?”

I give him a smirk. “I don’t want to talk about work. Wasn’t what you wanted?”

He let out a chuckle. “I guess I deserve that.”

I look to my right, and the woman from earlier once again is staring at me. The guy that’s with her is trying to get her intentions, but he falls miserably.

Poor guy.

As Elliot looks at the same woman, I notice his expression change for only a second.

I’m about to ask him what’s up with that when I’m distracted by Lucy as she brings our meals.

I get up from my seat. “If you’ll excuse me, I’m going to powder my nose.”

Elliot takes my hand to leave a peck on my skin. “Ok.”

I’m not going to powder my nose. It was better to say this than say I’m going to the toilet to do the number one. I have manners.

Once I’m finished, I look at my reflection in the mirror. The thing I love the most about me is my hair. At first, you think they are black, but when the light hits them, the brown shines through them.

As I walk back to my table, I stop on my track. I see the woman from earlier sitting in my seat while she talks with Elliot. He doesn’t seem happy with her presence.

What’s wrong with this picture? I wonder.

When Elliot sees me approaching them, I see the panic in his eyes.

Owen’s words from last night replay in my head.
“
Maybe he’s screwing with someone as we speak.”

Am I gullible to think that Elliot isn’t cheating on me? I have to get to the bottom of this before I make any accusations. I could be wrong here. It can be nothing.

“Elliot, what’s going on?” I look at him, then at her, and back at him.

He quickly stands up from his seat. “She was just leaving. Weren’t you, Clara?

She bats her eyelashes rapidly. “Honey, I think it’s time for her to learn the truth. Don’t you agree?”

I cross my arms in front of me. “And who exactly are you?”

I suspect what’s going on.

Clara laughs, looking at me. “I’m the woman who slept with him yesterday and the days before.”

I can’t believe this. He told me that he wasn’t cheating.

I look around, and everyone is staring at us.

I can’t believe what is happening.

“Taylor.” I hear Elliot says my name.

I ignore him completely. I go grab my coat and purse to get out of here. On the way out I call a uber company to come and pick me up.

Once I’m outside, waiting. Someone grabs my hand, and I know who that is. I’m quick to remove my hand from his hold.

“Taylor, please let me explain.” He has the nerve to plead with me, after what he did.

No. I won’t stay here and listen as he tries to find an excuse for what he did. I ignore him completely as I look ahead me.

“Taylor, please. I want to talk to you.” He tries again.

“There’s nothing to talk about” I snap at him.

“Elliot, there you are.” Clara joins us outside. “Now that she knows, we can finally be together.”

Don’t cry. I say to myself. Not here, and certainly not in front of her.

He turns to look at her to ask her to leave. An argument between them starts, and thankfully, I see the uber appear on the road.

Neither of them notices that I get in the uber.

All I want is to go home. A tear falls down my cheek as I try to keep it at bay. The driver doesn’t seem to be effective in my situation. I’m sure in his line of work he saw this a lot of times.

I stand in front of my door with the keys in my hand. I don’t want to go in. Something tells me that Elliot is on his way to talk to me. I don’t want to see him.

A stupid idea coss my mind.

I’m sure that I’m going to regret this, but for now, it’s my best option. Elliot will never think to search for me there.

I walk until I’m in front of Owen’s door and knock on it.

Freak! Maybe the girl that he was with is still with him.

I’m about to turn around as I change my mind when his door opens.

He frowns at me. “It’s you again.”

“I’m sorry to bother you.” I feel shy under his stare.

I don’t know why I’m standing here. I don’t even know the guy. I swallow my pride. “Can I come in, please? I argued with Eliott, and I’m not ready to face him yet.”

To my surprise, he opens his door wider, just enough for me to enter his place. | LEARN_MORE | https://b.ereaderlab.com/ad/ZVJlYWRlci8xNjQ2ODkvMj | 209849405535168 | Red111 | https://facebook.com/61554959872521 | 15 | 1 | 902,935,288,188,045 | 2024-05-02 02:00 | person_profile | eligible | 0 | 0 | NONE | 0 | 0 | 1 | 0 | Learn more | 0 | Red111 | 120208175179630671 | b.ereaderlab.com | NONE | video | https://b.ereaderlab.com/ad/ZVJlYWRlci8xNjQ2ODkvMjAyNDA0MjgxMDIyNTYvcGFnZQ==?adid={{ad.id}} | 2024-04-27 21:36 | https://scontent-ord5-2.xx.fbcdn.net/v/t39.35426-6/440403206_420204100762306_2292778135860867230_n.jpg?stp=dst-jpg_s60x60&_nc_cat=100&ccb=1-7&_nc_sid=c53f8f&_nc_ohc=oI0d4BDx6HkQ7kNvgE_HYzW&_nc_ht=scontent-ord5-2.xx&oh=00_AfDDgGRiNElCWBlamZaS29BZ6XWO1wUzGEqYci2geevM-A&oe=663A7F32 | person_profile | 0 | Red111 | https://scontent-ord5-1.xx.fbcdn.net/v/t39.35426-6/440186132_1863102587490120_6754630060026245823_n.jpg?_nc_cat=111&ccb=1-7&_nc_sid=c53f8f&_nc_ohc=yDvDmVA3MVIQ7kNvgFSg9wN&_nc_ht=scontent-ord5-1.xx&oh=00_AfD6-OcDp_nG7_j9rBD2Z9yG541cSHV4VTByLT47s4nYCA&oe=663A60FB | 0 | 3 | Red111 | 0 | 0 | 2024-05-02 02:00 | View Edit Delete | |||||||||||||||||||||

Twin sister Reagan said to my mate.
"I don't mind rejecting her, but I would have been embarrassed to face my mate" Justin said.
"My father has decided to appoint me as his future Alpha not my sister Raven. So, I will be your luna." Reagan said to Justin.
********
I silently run through the woods letting my wolf Emerald out tonight. She has been anxious all day, well really the last few days, and I could tell that she needed to come out for a run.
Alpha Cole Walker is the Alpha of the Blood Walker pack. He is said to be one of the most dangerous Alphas in the United States. It is said that he would hurt anyone who dared to enter his pack uninvited. Due to this fact, most of our pack members studiously avoid this area altogether.
My twin sister, Reagan, is the golden child of the pack. They all love her unconditionally. She is cherished and appreciated, no matter what she does. They all seem to ignore the fact that she is a horrible and mean she-wolf. I was born first, and with that should come the respect that after I find my mate, I will officially be the Luna here, and he will take over as the Alpha of the pack. Yet they all treat her as the next Luna.
My sister and I are the only children that our parents had. The Goddess never blessed them with another child, even though they tried for years. My father, Alpha Graham Sullivan, is very strict with me. I am not allowed to leave my room other than to eat my meals and then return back to my room again. I am also not allowed to leave our pack for any reason. I have never even crossed the border of the Sliver Blade pack in my life.
I was the Alpha's daughter, but I was not a valued member of this pack. Telling on me has always resulted in a bonus for whoever told on me to my father. I have had to learn how to overcome this on my own. It has made me very independent over the years, as well as a very good climber. I use the tree outside my window at the pack house, to climb up and down to get in and out of my room.
From my vantage point, I can see who is coming now and rolled my eyes so hard I almost saw my brain. It was Reagan, and she was pulling the arm of a pretty large guy, as she headed toward the grassy bank near my tree. I realized right this moment that I have picked a terrible place to hide. I should have doubled back and then climbed in my window to my room and I would have been safe and sound in my room. Reagan is clearly out with one of her many men, as she was allowed to stay out and do whatever she wanted to. I mean how else could she beat me to finding her mate if she didn't flirt with all the unmated men in our pack? I rolled my eyes again and then froze when I looked at them again and got a good look at his face.
That smell coming off of him was starting to drive me wild, he smelled like freshly baked cinnamon buns, and I was now pissed off. She had come here with the guy that I had a crush on, someone with whom she had never shown any interest in before. It was our Beta's son and the guy that I have had a crush on for the last year and a half.
"No, don't stop them, Raven, she has already been dating with him for the last few months. This is not the first time, it has been well before he returned to the pack earlier this week. They are together now, dating, and they have both vowed to reject their actual mates to stay together to take over and run this pack. Please, just try to bear it, I will help you get through it. I am glad that you are in a secure location, this may make you pass out" Emerald linked me, and I felt physically sick.
"How do you know this? Did she know that he is my mate? Why can't I approach him? Maybe he wants me, Emerald. Please let me stop this. He might not know that I am his mate, he may still want me, want US! I don't want to lose him, Emerald. He may not be aware his true mate is here. Can't he already smell our scent up here, like I smelled his scent? Are you sure that this is the only way? Please Emerald" I linked her back, and I feel the tears that are already sliding down my face. I have questions, and I need answers.
I am frustrated. I don't want to give up on my true mate. He doesn't even know that I am here, and I do want him. I don't want to give him up, especially not to my sister Reagan. I don't know if I can survive this level of betrayal.
"I can't wait for mom and dad to announce to the pack that we will be the Alpha and Luna tomorrow. This is something that I have really wanted for the last 8 years. I am so glad you decided that we could be chosen mates. " My sister says to my mate.
"Besides, I am also glad that you are willing to lead the Silver Blade pack with me. I have a feeling that my freak of a sister who keeps staring at you is going to be crushed when she finds out that we are together. You dodged by deciding to accept me as your chosen mate. I know that she has a crush on you, so she would probably try to ask you out or something when she sees that you are back from break." She adds.
"I think we will be so happy together. Raven will be so angry when she finds out that we planned this months ago. I cannot wait for her to find out. I even told mom to have her sit on the front row for the pack meeting tomorrow, so I can see her face when dad makes the announcement. I am going to put her next to you so it will hurt her more when dad calls you up on stage. When she realizes that her crush is going to be my mate, she is going to be so jealous of me. I am so going to get a picture of her face when she finds out, as I will want to remember that moment for a long time" I heard Reagan say to him, and I was so choked up I couldn't hold in the sob of pain that managed to escape.
It wasn't loud, but with werewolf hearing, it was loud enough. I just stayed completely still and prayed that they hadn't heard me, but Justin started talking when my sob escaped, and they had no reaction, so I think I am safe.
"I have always thought that you were a she-wolf, Reagan. I am so glad that you came up to my training with your offer, and for us to get extra special time together. If Raven were allowed to move around the pack, I don't think that she would be missing the fact that she is my mate. I scented her today when I got back to the pack and confirmed she is my mate. Per our agreement, I don't mind rejecting her, as I am clearly getting the better sister out of this deal. I would have been embarrassed to have to call that freak of nature my mate" Justin said, and with it, my heart was completely crushed.
These two evil people deserved each other, and I will not waste another tear on his betrayal. He "chose" her, so he can keep her. She will never be faithful to him, and he will not ever be able to trust that their children are his either. She was just doing this to ensure that they become the next Alpha and Luna. She is what he wanted, so she can have him. I am thoroughly disgusted by both of them, and I will not allow them to make me sad one more day. I had already decided to get out of this horrible pack, and I will not miss the Silver Blade pack for a second.
"She is your mate? Are you serious? Oh, this is the best" Reagan said as she laughed out in joy at hearing this information. "Justin, why haven't you mentioned this to me before?" Reagan continued.
"I just found out about it earlier today as I have been gone for my training for the last 4 months. I caught my mate's scent and followed it so I could go ahead and reject them. I realized it was coming from the Alpha level, and when I went up and it led me straight to her door, it was really faint, but I sensed it. She doesn't even know it yet. I am sure that this information is not going to go over well with your parents. They may be upset when they find out. Are they still going to want us to move forward with our plan? Or are they going to want me and Raven to be mates because we are true mates?" Justin asked Reagan. I have to admit, I was interested in her reply as well, but I already suspected what the answer was going to be.
"Oh no Justin, you will definitely be staying with me. I know dad is really going to get a kick out of you and Raven being mates. Mom might feel a little bad for her, but I think that this is great. I could not be happier that her true mate, will become my chosen mate.
We will rule the Silver Blade pack together, and it will hurt her every day to see us together. It is my pack any way, it was never going to be hers. Maybe if we are lucky since she doesn't have a wolf, she won't be able to scent you, and your rejection might even hurt her when you do it. That would be the best-case scenario for all of us" Reagan said, and I could tell that Justin was a little shocked at how hateful she was. Reagan could tell that Justin was not liking this side of her so she quickly changed her attitude and started cooing at Justin, "She doesn't deserve you, baby, I love you and I want you. Hopefully, you will come to love me too.
I was just worried, I don't want you falling in love with my sister after we have already mated." Reagan said to Justin, looking up at him adoringly through her long lashes. I have to admit, she really knows how to work people to do what she wants them to. Her ability to look innocent and pure is without measure, she could have been an actress.
"Dad hates Raven. He will be very happy about this. He has never loved her since the day that she was born. Mom might be a little upset, but she will get over it. She and dad are chosen mates, she gave up her true mate to become the Luna of the Silver Blade pack. She did it herself, and if it is good enough for her, then it is good enough for me to do it as well. We make the perfect couple. We will have strong pups, and our pack will flourish" Reagan said, and I am stunned. I knew my dad was mean, but to hate me, why? What reason could he possibly have for hating me? My parents have told the whole pack numerous times through the years that they were true mates. They are very affectionate with each other in front of the pack. I didn't even know that they weren't true mates. What else don't I know about them?
"We will do the same thing. You will have to reject Raven first thing in the morning, or after the pack meeting. But you will have to do it where no one else will hear you. Dad is going to tell the pack that we are true mates, so they will fully support us. Dad thinks that it would be a mistake to not have the pack's full support behind us when we go to take it over from my parents" Reagan said, and I am amazed at all the plans that they have kept away from me. Just another thing that shows how much difference there is between Reagan and me. I hear them touching again and wonder when they plan on leaving the area, don't they need to get back to the pack house?
I narrow my eyes at Reagan, as she is ecstatic about getting to truly rub all of my misfortune in right now. Justin is getting the opportunity to reject me, so the situation that we are now in is all positive for them.
"Raven, why are you out of the house? Are you supposed to be out here? Are you OK? That fall looked like it hurt pretty bad" I hear my sister ask me with an innocent look on her face like she cared about me. She was fully aware of how I am kept a prisoner here at the Silver Blade pack. I really have to get out of here. I needed to check and see how badly I am hurt because I don't know if I even have time to go pack a bag now. I may be having to leave here with nothing, but I am OK with that. I just need to get the heck out of here. I will figure out what I need to do after I am safely free of Silver Blade.
"Are you ignoring me, Raven? Are you sure you want to do that to me? Fine then, I will just make sure that you get punished for leaving your room. You are not supposed to be out here anyway. I will just let dad know that you are out here, and he will take care of you" Reagan said with a smirk, and then she started mind linking.
I and my wolf were running away from this pack. But they caught us immediately.
"If you come back here now Raven, I won't punish you for leaving your room without permission" I heard my father tell me.
"Nothing in the world could possess me to do that father," I told him, and I see his eyes glazing over as he goes to link someone. I could care less what they have to say to me, and I turned to walk away.
"You will get punishment in the Blood Walker pack. You know how dangerous they are Raven, you have heard this fact for your whole life. They cannot be trusted, and you are now a rogue. We have told you, and the whole pack, exactly what happens to those who trespass on their land. The moment they scent you they will move in, and you will die today. Is that what you want? Do you want to die? I will get you more freedom in the pack. I will allow you to go to the library every day instead of once a week. How does that sound?" my mother's voice is calming and comforting. She has never before sounded as nice as this, and I know that dad put her up to try to lure me back into the Siler Blade pack. They must be desperate to do it, so I want to see how far they intended to go with it.
"Let me ask you this mother. Was the plan to get Justin to take Reagan as a chosen mate her idea, or dad's?" I asked her. Mom is not a very good liar. I can see her expression as we are only about 20 feet apart from each other right now.
"I don't know what you are talking about Raven, they are mates," my mom said to me, and now I smirk at her. Clearly, mom was keeping me out of the loop and doesn't know that I know for a fact that they aren't.
"Thanks for always lying to me mom. That makes it so much easier on me. I will not be coming back to the Silver Blade pack. This is the last time, Goddess willing, that you all will probably see me and actually I am welcoming the death that is coming to me. It will be better than the life I have lived since Reagan tried to hurt me, and my own dad called me a liar when I told him what actually happened. Justin is not her mate mom, and I know this because he is MY mate. It is disgusting what all you three have done to me and allowed to be done to me my whole life. I never deserved to be treated the way I was. I can only hope that I can find my way and get to live a life that allows me to find someone who loves me and realizes that I am a good person. I don't think that is too much to ask for, do you mom? It seems like you and dad are willing to do anything to get me to come back over the fence, but we both know that if I did come back, I would either immediately be thrown in the cells. So, I will take my chances over here, where at least I have a chance" I told them and turned again to leave. I only made it a few steps before I was stopped again by my father's hateful words.
"You are ungrateful daughter, How do you have the nerve to say that to me? I have clothed and fed you, provided you a room, and let you go to school. I did take care of you, and it is disgusting to see how you repay me. Lying about Justin being your mate. Trying to take your sister's mate away from her. I know that I can speak for your mother as well as myself when I say that we hope the Blood Walker pack disposes of you quickly. I only wish I could punish you myself" my dad roared out, and the hate was coming off of him in waves.
"You disgust me father," I told him and the tone I used to draw out the word father let him know just how little I thought of him being my father. "I have never done anything to cause a problem or disruption in the pack, or in the family. I did what I was told this whole time. Even as knowing that you let the whole pack know that I was fair game if they wanted to hurt me, and they did dad, over and over again. You know what, it was my family that really took the award for the most torment. Your unwarranted hate, mom never supporting me, and my sister allowed to try to hurt me, and incite others up against me made me realize that life will be much better on this side of the border than it was on that side. Even if I only live an hour more, it would be better than the years I spent over there."
I wiped off my tears and walked past them, suddenly, I hear something coming to me…

>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
Wanna listen more? download our App and check more!
My best friend. Dimitri . And a family who accepted me without judgement and showed me nothing but love all these years. | LEARN_MORE | https://c.whastory.com/ad/dmlvbGV0cy8xNjQ2MDcvMjAy | 181423211726415 | Wha002 | https://facebook.com/61554783541379 | 29 | 1 | 982,036,326,933,960 | 2024-05-02 02:00 | person_profile | eligible | 0 | 0 | NONE | 0 | 0 | 1 | 0 | Learn more | 0 | Wha002 | 120208189100420176 | c.whastory.com | NONE | video | https://c.whastory.com/ad/dmlvbGV0cy8xNjQ2MDcvMjAyNDA0MjgxMDE5MDEvcGFnZQ==?adid={{ad.id}} | 2024-04-27 21:30 | https://scontent-bos5-1.xx.fbcdn.net/v/t39.35426-6/440959929_459832370039035_6185611547544958001_n.jpg?stp=dst-jpg_s60x60&_nc_cat=109&ccb=1-7&_nc_sid=c53f8f&_nc_ohc=U6kyEp3FQtsQ7kNvgFX_V73&_nc_ht=scontent-bos5-1.xx&oh=00_AfDqLtdviTSiQkrmmkIeBfMs08S9RdZ1kVUIDobdk65Hdg&oe=663A8540 | person_profile | 0 | Wha002 | https://scontent-bos5-1.xx.fbcdn.net/v/t39.35426-6/440979636_282041521640743_3809862697166772915_n.jpg?_nc_cat=102&ccb=1-7&_nc_sid=c53f8f&_nc_ohc=jvUo4c5nTOoQ7kNvgFexGT0&_nc_ht=scontent-bos5-1.xx&oh=00_AfBDtyJYYzf3r3HBv8g_X8jO3o_kPWum2JF-VU5NSnvruA&oe=663A8CBC | 0 | 3 | Wha002 | 0 | 0 | 2024-05-02 02:00 | View Edit Delete | |||||||||||||||||||||

He put his hands in his pockets.
"Christian, there is nothing to talk about. I don't have time for your gibberish. Don't you have other girls to bother? What can you possibly talk to me about? !" I was losing my cool.
"Natalie, I like you a lot." His eyes were getting dark. That look, there it was again. Desire? "CHRISTIAN!" I yelled. "Spit it out now! What did you come here f–" Before I could finish my statement, he slammed his lips on me.
————————
~Christian's POV~
Last night I heard my parents talking about Natalie coming home. I knew they were talking about Natalie Adams, the one girl who was untouchable or unapproachable. That vixen thought she was hiding in the shadows but I saw her.
The thing is that she didn't realize how badly guys wanted her. Even if they came up to her it was funny because she would stare at them like they were stupid and her resting b-face said it all. She didn't even have to respond, and because of that they never approached her again. Talk about painted black. I think that was the color of her soul.
The girl was beyond gorgeous. Every time she walked in a classroom or the cafeteria, her dark and mysterious demeanor attracted anyone. She would never know, because when you saw her with her earbuds on, it's as if Natalie was always in her own world.
I wonder where she goes every summer because I never saw her around the pack when school was finished. I was thinking about asking my parents, but that will have to wait.
I was always surrounded or being approached by girls, it never failed. I've slept around and I wasn't ashamed of it because I am an Alpha and an Alpha needs that release. I did have an ex-girlfriend that seemed to not know the meaning of "ex". Elle was always around when I needed an easy contact.
She was Zeo Wilson's sister, our future beta, and was captain of the cheerleader squad. This girl would sometimes scare the other girls away and acted like she owned me. The girl is hot but has a nasty attitude and thinks highly of herself. No shame whatsoever.
Natalie, however, she was the one girl I was profoundly attracted to. I wanted to feel and taste her. She had this strong aura around her and that confused me because I know her parents are warriors, but there was this ambience about her that made me want her more than any other she wolf. Just maybe, maybe she could be my fated mate.
I went on Instagram and just like I assumed, she has her account in private, so you can only see her profile picture. It was a set of earbuds on top of a book in black and white. This girl was fascinating. I wanted to know her so badly…all of her.
I mean come on, who wouldn't want a piece of me. I'm 6 '6, muscular, I have the lightest gray eyes with dirty blonde hair, medium on the top and short sides. I'm every girl's wet dream. I've been told I look like the younger version of Christopher Egan. I'm better looking though.
So I did what I have never done with any other girl. I sent her a friend request on Instagram. "Now the waiting game begins."
~Natalie POV~
"Pfffsh, no!" He may be attractive, and I won't deny it. After all, I am a girl, and the guy is hot. Every girl may go crazy for him and desire him, but not me. He's a scumbag. His cocky disposition said it all.
He sleeps with anything that has a hole. It's like a stray dog, leave it alone, you don't know where it's been. 'He probably has STDs or something, not to mention where his mouth has been,' Zoe said in disgust. Can't disagree. I know we may be exaggerating, but Christian's been around with almost every chic in that school.
~
I was already running for 20 minutes, when I sensed another wolf running too. 'A warrior on security watch?' No. My wolf Jasper sensed it was a girl. As I got closer, I smirked. 'Well, well, lookie who it is.' I told Jaz, a shorter name for my wolf.
I knew I would get to her first before she sensed us because Alpha's have stronger abilities than all other wolves.
'Lucky us. I am fond of this one, Chris.' Jaz said. 'Well let's go say hello, maybe we'll get lucky to allure her.' I said cockily.
As we got closer, she turned around in defensive mode. 'That was odd.'
"What, Christian! What are you trying to do? Give me a heart attack numb nuts!" She said, trying to catch her breath.
I started to laugh, "Woah baby, no need to go in attack mode and…numb nuts?" I said, raising an eyebrow looking offended with her word choice of insult. She was fiery, and her voice sounded hot.
"Yeah…well…you should never sneak up on anyone running ALPHA!" She said angrily.
Every time she spoke, my shaft twitched, and this time, I stepped closer. I smirked and licked my bottom lip. "Nat, you don't have to call me Alpha, just Christian or Chris for short." She noticed the action.
She raised an eyebrow, "Okay…Christian…but you will have to call me Natalie. Only my close friends and my parents call me Nat. What are you doing here? Were you stalking me? You know better than anyone never to sneak up on someone like that unless you're looking for a hip whooping," She spat. "You know how rogues don't follow rules and are ruthless killers!"
"Wait, stalking! No, I was out for a run today. Why did you say it like that…wait…unless you saw the friend request." I said, dismissing the rogue statement.
"Please…yeah I saw it. Now that you bring it up…no." She simply said.
"No…" I said, looking dumb founded.
"We are not friends, and you have never spoken a word to me, Christian. What did you expect? It would be like you invading my personal space!"
"Speaking of personal space, back off, you keep coming closer, dude." She looked pissed and was already fisting up her hands.
"Shorty, why do you have to be so angry? It's just a friend request, and it's not just from anyone, but from your future Alpha," I chuckled. "Sweetheart, you make it difficult to get near you. In that case, let me get to know you better, Natalie. It's never too late." Now biting my lower lip.
As I got closer, she kept backing up until she hit a tree. I leaned to her face, and I could smell the vanilla scent in her hair. She smelled good. I wanted to peck her badly. But that thought disappeared when I suddenly felt pain down south. 'Did she just hit my balls!' I went down on one knee holding my pair to soothe them.
"Don't for one, think, I am attracted to you or treat me like those other girls you have luring around. I am nothing like them. Never invade my personal space. You may be my Alpha soon, but even the Alpha has to respect his pack members." She looked down on me and if I wasn't more attracted to her than ever.
She was beautiful. 'Chris, mate or not, we want her!' Jaz said, and I couldn't agree more. ' She definitely is unique, Jaz, one of a kind. ' I said as I saw her curvy body making her way back home. My hands ached to touch her.
'The nerve of that fool' I told Zo. 'Did you see how he was licking his lips like if I was a piece of meat,' I said, all pissed off. 'He was sniffing my hair too! Creep!'
'You sure kicked him hard, girlie! If I could hi-five you, I would, so I'll do it mentally' she snickered. 'He is cute, though Natie. The guy has muscle. I wouldn't mind seeing his wolf Jasper.' Zoe said.
Ugh…maybe so, but he is too arrogant and cocky. Zoe kinda caught me off guard with that comment, though. Traitor.
I ran fast, heading home. So much for a quiet and peaceful run. I got home showered and changed. My parents weren't home. I noticed it was past 9, so I called Evie.
"Good morning Natie! I woke up at 9 thinking you weren't kidding on calling me, but to my surprise, you didn't call on time. That's not you, Nat." She said, concerned.
"Evie, you will never believe what happened to me. Come over so we can talk and head out!"
_____________________
"No freaking way! What are you for reals? ! Christian!" Evie's mouth was wide open.
"The devil in the flesh Ev's!" I told her. I explained what happened this morning about receiving his friend request and what happened on my run, almost scaring the pee out of me by sneaking up on me. The way he caged me by a tree and how he was acting weird, like trying to make a move on me.
"Nat, Christian has the hots for you." She said in a teasing voice. Christian is not a one woman man. "Ev's, no dude. Honestly, there is only one guy that I really would like to know and…ugh," I said, now feeling a little sad.
"Who! ? Ivan Carter? ! He is an attractive one, buddy."
Ivan Carter belongs to another pack, the Midnight Pack. He is the son of Alpha Easton Carter. He also attends the academy, and every time I sneak a peek at him, my body reacts to him. I've touched myself just thinking about him.
'You ain't lying Nat, he's a total package.' Zoe said breathlessly.
'Okay make up your mind! ? I chucked.
I have never gotten close to him or talked to him. Well it's my fault, actually. I don't like getting close to anyone, and I was scared that he didn't feel the same way. I can't get my hopes up anyway. He's meant to be an Alpha. We shouldn't really mess with Alphas either way. I've heard Alpha's can choose their mates as well, but a true fated mate can make a strong heir.
He also has this chic that is always around him, Camila Ares. She is next in line for Gamma in his pack. She is always with or on him. She freaking irritates me.
'He doesn't look interested in her, but they are always together. Well him and his click.' Zoe putting her two cents in. 'Yup,' I sighed.
"Evie, do you think this year will be different? I don't know if I'm ready to see who I'm mated to." I can't believe I sound so down. I mentally slapped myself, I got up and shook off all of those unwanted emotions and thoughts.
I'm scared of these feelings I have for Ivan, only to be hurt if he's mated with someone else, which probably will happen. I have to do something fast and stop whatever this is before I get a broken heart.
"Nat, you're gorgeous, and anyone mated to you will be lucky as heck because you are one of a kind! To answer your question, yes! This is our year!" She leaned over and gave me a big hug.
"You're gorgeous too, buddy. Anyone would be lucky to have you as a mate. I'll kick your mate's hip if he thinks otherwise. I got your back, babe!"
We got up and headed for my car. My parents had gotten me a used Red, fourth generation Camaro from 2004, on my 16th birthday. I love my car.
I rammed my engine and headed to town.
~Ivan's POV~
"Alpha Ivan! Hey, earth to Alpha!" Jerry hollered. "I'm right next to you idiot" I growled. "Put me on the spot, why don't you."
Jerry Scott is my Delta, and he's already taking charge since his father stepped down. He is the head warrior and trains our pack members.
Training is about to start, and we are about to spar each other.
I will soon become Alpha of the Midnight Pack. At the age of 18, the current Alpha, my father, Easton Carter, will step down, and I will claim my place as Alpha.
I got distracted with my thoughts. In a few weeks I'll be going back to school at the Blue Moon Academy. It's our last year, and I'm anxious, though. There's this girl that has been on my mind rent-free. I haven't made the effort to talk to her. It seems she's not the talkative kind and brushes anyone away.
This year will be different. I will make the initiative to get closer to her. I'm all giddy just thinking about her. When I think about her face, her hair, and her body, I get turned on. Natalie Adams makes me feel things I've never felt for anyone.
Striker, my wolf puts these images in my head of us sleeping. 'There is something about this girl Ivan, that when I see her, it makes me go crazy, she belongs to us. That aura around her when she is pissed is captivating?' Striker says calmly.
It's not common when a person's wolf feels infatuated with a certain person who is not their mate. I've heard that Alpha's get signs if a girl belongs to them, but we haven't been too close to her to sense any of those signs. Honestly, I wouldn't even know the signs if they were there.
Just watching her from afar has been enough for us both these past years. But it's time to change that because just looking at her is not sufficient anymore. We need and want more of her.
However, he's right. We've seen people piss her off from a distance. She doesn't show emotion like other girls, but when she is angry, her aura is strong, and with that, she scares them off. She's fierce.
Her demeanor says it all. I can't put my finger on it. Only wolves with high rankings have that type of aura that demands respect and obedience.
But if I am correct, her parents are warriors from Christian's pack. So…it can't be possible. Werewolves take their rankings seriously. Well, most of us. That's just the way it should be. Your destined mate and you should make a strong heir.
It also irks me of the fact that Christian has had his eyes on her. It sucks that she is from his pack. You can see the gleam in his eyes when she walks into the lunchroom. My wolf wants to peek out and claw his eyes out each time. Arrogant nutsack.
'That's true. Should we do a bit of research regarding her family line?' Striker eagerly says. 'Yeah, maybe we should. Just maybe there is something more to her, and by luck, we could have a chance to be mated to her.' With that thought, I couldn't help but smile.
You may ask, what is it about this girl that makes her so interesting? Well, she is definitely not like the girls at school or my pack. She is attractive, and that fierce, mysterious, emotionless demeanor she gives out makes her so alluring. Makes you curious about her personality and what she thinks. This girl attracts unwanted attention without even trying.
All other girls yearn for that attention and throw themselves at guys, but not her. She also doesn't give any guy her undivided attention. It's like no one exists around her. She is in her own world.
"Ay, what's that on your face! Are you smiling? Wipe that off Alpha, ain't nobody got time for that when you're about to get a beat down." Jerry says laughing.
…and just like that, my face is emotionless.
'Alright, you got jokes!' I scowl. Turning around, I yelled, "BEGIN!"
_________
After our training, I headed to the pack house. As I open the front door and head to the stairs, I hear footsteps behind me, and someone jumps on my back. I knew it was Camila because of her scent. It's too flowery and strong for my liking. Striker growls.
Everyone thinks that we are together, but that is far from the truth. We are friends with benefits. I don't feel anything for her, honestly. Striker gets pissed off. He dislikes her scent and voice.
He only accepts it if we imagine Natalie beneath us.
"Get off me, Camila! I'm your Alpha!" I yelled. She flinched and quickly got off. I already do Alpha affairs as I'm slowly transitioning into the labors of a true leader. I take my job seriously because leading is what I do best.
"What's wrong baby, you've been distant lately? You don't want me anymore? You haven't invited me up to your room. It's been weeks now, Ivan." She said, with her whiny voice.
Striker snapped, 'She better remember her place, Ivan! It's Alpha to this bimbo!'
I palm my face. "ALPHA! ALPHA IVAN…CAMILA! ! ! Don't forget my title and don't forget your place." I growled. I was being a scumbag.
Don't get me wrong, Camila is hot. She is 5'8 taller than most girls, with chocolate brown hair. She has these pretty hazel orbs. However, she has an ugly attitude, especially with girls that get close to me. I can't stand that. I may have slept with her a couple of times, but I feel nothing for her. She is not Natalie.
~
"What's up Ivan, you rang! ?" Pointing at his head trying to be funny.
Jerry, Axel, and Camila are allowed to call me Ivan without using my title. Especially if we are alone or having a group conversation with just the four of us.
However, Camila has been irritating me lately. I may have acted like a scumbag but I have to somehow hammer it in her head that we are not a thing.
I said this before, but I take my position seriously. Being a leader is a serious matter and the decisions I make can have a life or death impact on my pack.
From here forward, she will have to understand that I can not condone that type of disrespect especially if we are not together. I allowed it in my bedroom but now, things have changed. She also has to take her position seriously. If and when I find my Luna, she will be the one to be protecting her. That's the role of a Gamma.
"Yup, I got a mission for you. But this is low key." I said glaring at him.
"Okay, whatcha got? !" Jerry said now sounding excited.
"You remember Natalie Adams from the academy? From Christian's Pack." I asked.
"Yeah…who doesn't! She's freaking hot!" He sheepishly replied.
"Watch it! I want you to look into her family background," I said possessively.
He covered his mouth and jokingly said, "Whaaa…? !" I pinched the bridge of my nose and furrowed my brows. "Well can you or can you not! ?" sounding bothered now.
He chuckled, "Of course I can, anything for you bro. Is there something I should be concerned about though or something I am looking for in specific?"
"Have you ever noticed the aura she gives out at times? I sense power and strength like if she comes from a higher rank, but her parents are warriors," I calmly said. It may not be a big deal but I'm curious now.
"I just think there's more than meets the eye with her," I wasn't lying. "She is so different. It's like Camila, she's a Gamma because of her dad, but Natalie seems to be stronger than a Gamma if you get my drift."
"Ah, okay, okay, I get it. I'll get to it. You don't have to explain…it makes sense," he said. "This can not leave this room. This is between you and me," I said, trusting him.
The less people know what I do, the better. It may be stupid to others but for me, this is imperative.
"Got it!" Jerry said leaving the room. Jerry is my best tracker and hacker when it comes to technology. He is a genius, very observant, and fast. That is why he is our Delta. | LEARN_MORE | https://a.crazynovelapp.com/ad/TXlsaWIvMTY0NDg0LzI | 106539445754279 | Cra0001 | https://facebook.com/100091661543152 | 35 | 1 | 459,515,299,792,378 | 2024-05-02 02:00 | person_profile | eligible | 0 | 0 | NONE | 0 | 0 | 1 | 0 | Learn more | 0 | Cra0001 | 120206828802260553 | a.crazynovelapp.com | NONE | video | https://a.crazynovelapp.com/ad/TXlsaWIvMTY0NDg0LzIwMjQwNDI4MTAxMzIzL3BhZ2U=?adid={{ad.id}} | 2024-04-27 21:16 | https://scontent-bos5-1.xx.fbcdn.net/v/t39.35426-6/439108543_1147672902916821_2925391250069645282_n.jpg?stp=dst-jpg_s60x60&_nc_cat=103&ccb=1-7&_nc_sid=c53f8f&_nc_ohc=U3I0UeKEmhMQ7kNvgG_2qWB&_nc_ht=scontent-bos5-1.xx&oh=00_AfAIN8XeiCClJAf1xVJ4bqUzAm6rG7DwPMWMfaS-jdR9Pg&oe=663A80D9 | person_profile | 0 | Cra0001 | https://scontent-bos5-1.xx.fbcdn.net/v/t39.35426-6/422616605_285239751309445_2940304530805623881_n.jpg?_nc_cat=108&ccb=1-7&_nc_sid=c53f8f&_nc_ohc=mMr77FKFbnoQ7kNvgHfukt6&_nc_ht=scontent-bos5-1.xx&oh=00_AfDopO5KevxTh8N8ce7zdVuaccfiOqiAyJWVFZoLOSSrVg&oe=663A91DD | 0 | 3 | Cra0001 | 0 | 0 | 2024-05-02 02:00 | View Edit Delete | |||||||||||||||||||||

Dimitri . And a family who accepted me without judgement and showed me nothing but love all these years. | LEARN_MORE | https://b.lionfiction.com/ad/bGlvbmZpY3Rpb24vMTY0N | 177944772076825 | Lio111 | https://facebook.com/61554822209907 | 16 | 1 | 1,793,346,404,478,619 | 2024-05-02 02:00 | person_profile | eligible | 0 | 0 | NONE | 0 | 0 | 1 | 0 | Learn more | 0 | Lio111 | 120209716872480209 | b.lionfiction.com | NONE | video | https://b.lionfiction.com/ad/bGlvbmZpY3Rpb24vMTY0NjI3LzIwMjQwNDI4MTAxOTU1L3BhZ2U=?adid={{ad.id}} | 2024-04-27 21:32 | https://scontent-bos5-1.xx.fbcdn.net/v/t39.35426-6/438826296_785916190175921_3799813144187102513_n.jpg?stp=dst-jpg_s60x60&_nc_cat=105&ccb=1-7&_nc_sid=c53f8f&_nc_ohc=3LnbWOZ-PgMQ7kNvgFvppbf&_nc_ht=scontent-bos5-1.xx&oh=00_AfCQL7fDHoo4xJ4zV6LiBVedaL12EBmUcxWwHPeC6as7uQ&oe=663A9164 | person_profile | 0 | Lio111 | https://scontent-bos5-1.xx.fbcdn.net/v/t39.35426-6/440744980_828795125965269_599386233010192417_n.jpg?_nc_cat=109&ccb=1-7&_nc_sid=c53f8f&_nc_ohc=dh3gGSUnbu4Q7kNvgHjfB3b&_nc_ht=scontent-bos5-1.xx&oh=00_AfCGMGs-OWm8oZ6rr-Wzo5sxrpzjImAd0u3VjOTtTHHHSA&oe=663A8D54 | 0 | 3 | Lio111 | 0 | 0 | 2024-05-02 02:00 | View Edit Delete |
