You're single, and I'm eighteen, and on birth control and I know how to keep a secret."
George's dark eyes smoldered. "You're also my daughter's best friend."
"My friendship with Clara has an expiration date, and it's coming up fast. Now, you could say no and could send me back upstairs, and tomorrow both of us could pretend that this never happened."
I climbed atop the bed to straddle him, "Or you could spend the next five months banging me raw. Strip me..."
————————
We were sitting in the cafeteria, trading embarrassing stories, as I stabbed the tines of my fork against my thigh.
Clara, the beautiful, brilliant sun of our little solar system, threw her head back laughing, exposing her long, slender throat and dainty collarbones.
I giggled, fantasizing about how it would feel to strangle her.
The story, an anecdote about our first time partying, cast me as the dimwitted butt of the joke, like her stories always did.
Never mind that it was embellished – Clara's stories always were.
In fact, the person who'd actually gone into a bedroom with a senior and come out with chlamydia had been her, but I didn't dare to correct her. One word about what really happened that night and I'd spend the remainder of our time at high school as a social leper.
So, I smiled and played along.
After all, I'd been playing the empty-headed bimbo foil to Clara for years now.
Never mind that I'd be taking college classes too, if Mom could afford it.
"-Kelly?"
At the sound of my name, I perked up.
"Sorry, what?"
Clara shot a glance at Sierra, who put her hand in front of her mouth to hide her sneer.
Licking her lips, Clara looked back at me. "I asked if you're sure you can get the stuff for Friday night."
I nodded. I was used to skimming extra doses off of my prescription Xanax for Clara, and I'd set aside several in anticipation of tomorrow night.
We were going to party, get high and have a sleepover at Clara's house.
Or, at least they were.
I was going to wait until they passed out to go bang Clara's dad.
….
Clara's house was a mammoth monument to upper-middle-class tastelessness.
Located in the darkest, most white-bread heart of the suburbs, the two-story, finished-basement paean to pretension was Clara's father's half of the marital assets, sundered after a nasty divorce.
But, for all intents and purposes, the house was Clara's alone.
Her father, George, spent most of his time away on business, and had for years. This fact not only drove his wife into the arms of the contractor who'd renovated the kitchen, but also made him an enigmatic and fascinating figure to me.
In all the time I'd known Clara, I could count on one hand the number of words I'd said to her father.
But, oh, did he make an impression...
I looked at him now, his broad back to me as he rinsed dishes in the kitchen sink. I let my gaze trail lower, admiring the way his torso tapered down to his waist and the firm roundness of his buttocks.
"Hey, Dad!" Clara called as I closed the door behind us.
"Hi, Pumpkin!" He turned, and I got a glimpse of his rich, brown eyes and sharp, stubbled jawline. "How was school?"
"Good. Got an A on that Calculus test."
She hadn't – she'd gotten a D- and an admonition to come in next week for a retake.
Not that I was going to correct her.
His full lips curved with pride, "Great job, honey!" Noticing us, he nodded, "Hi, girls."
Sierra and I chorused, "Hi, Mr. Coleman."
"So," his attention turned back to Clara, "What have you three got planned for tonight?"
Clara answered, "Well, there's this pizza place that just opened downtown, so we're going to go give that a try and then catch the new Marvel movie."
Total lie. We were headed out to Scott's place for a party.
"Who's driving?"
"We're getting an Uber – I hate parking Downtown."
That much was true – we were getting an Uber. But, we were also planning on getting totally blitzed – and even Clara wasn't irresponsible enough to drive like that.
"When do you think you'll be back?"
"Well, the movie gets out at ten, so maybe ten-thirty?"
Another lie. If we stepped foot in the house before midnight, I'd be shocked.
"Okay. Call me if you're going to be late?"
"Of course!" Clara giggled, before turning away to lead us upstairs to her bedroom.
When her door closed behind us, Clara dropped the perfect daughter act and launched into a detailed rant about how much better it was at her mom and stepfather's house, and how she'd move in with them full time if it wasn't so far away from our school.
I listened, looking rapt while Sierra stepped into her bathroom to change out of her school clothes into her party outfit.
"-like, my bedroom in their house is almost three times as big as this one. I swear to God, I'm totally moving in with them after graduation."
I nodded like I cared. In the back of my mind though, I thought about the handful of times I'd met her stepfather. I couldn't explain it, but he'd left me deeply creeped out. Something about the slimy feel of his eyes had me convinced that if Clara did move in, she'd have to start sleeping with the door locked.
But that was her business, not mine.
I was the last to go in the bathroom to change, and the instant I closed the door behind me, it started.
"...Tyler's saying he's got a new hookup for xannies."
"For real?"
"His brother's at college now and he knows a guy."
"Thank Christ..."
"Right? Like, I know she makes us look smarter by comparison, but there's only so much I can take-"
I tuned them out. It was a true testament to their lack of self-awareness that they didn't know how loud they were.
Undressing, I paused when the last scrap of clothing hit the tile floor. In the mirror, I turned and twisted, examining myself with cool eyes.
Clara and Sierra could spew their self-deluded garbage behind my back, call me every name in the book – I didn't care.
As I assessed my undressed form in the mirror, I smirked.
All that mattered was tonight.
Tonight, I was going to seduce Clara's precious, fuckable daddy, and then after that every barb, every hateful word out of her mouth would be soothed by the knowledge of what his shaft tasted like, by the echo of his moans, by the memory of riding him in his bed.

Unlocking the front door, I tried to be quiet as I helped Clara inside
"...s-stupid bimbo doesn't know what he's missing."
Wasted Clara did not have volume control, especially not lustful, wasted Clara.
Scott had turned her down and Clara was not dealing with that rejection well.
Hath no fury like a narcissist scorned.
"Hey, shh!" I whispered, "Your dad's probably asleep!"
"Pff!"
"Okay," I muttered to myself, "Let's get you upstairs."
The ordeal of dragging her to her bedroom and laying her down in her bed took twenty minutes. Getting her on her side so she wouldn't choke on her own vomit took another five.
I breathed a sigh of relief when she passed out. Sierra was currently in a similar state in the backseat of the Uber and getting her settled would probably take even longer.
When both were incapacitated on Clara's bed, I stared down at them with a smirk.
Then, taking my bag with me, I walked into the bathroom, shutting the door behind me.
With the mix of pills and liquor in their systems, they'd be out for hours.
More than enough time for what I had planned.
Inside, I stripped, tossing aside my party clothes, pungent now with the reek of smoke and spilled liquor.
If they smell, then I smell...
Opening the linen closet, I pulled out a fresh towel and hung it over the shower rod.
Under the steamy spray, I washed away the sweat and the stench of the day. I wanted to be fresh and clean when I let George Coleman defile me.
Humming to myself, I stepped out, drying off before slipping on a nightgown that was a little too lacy for a simple girls' sleepover.
The baby pink satin slid down my skin until the hem brushed against my mid-thigh.
Catching sight of myself in the foggy mirror, I looked into my own eyes, knowing that this was the point of no return, wondering if I had the guts to actually go through with it.
Then a slow trickle became a flood as I remembered all the slights, the cuts and bruises to my ego that I'd had to endure, that I would have to endure to survive the rest of high school.
I remembered betrayal, and the white-hot rage it left in its wake.
Fluffing my drying hair, I smiled at my reflection. At eighteen, I had the kind of body and face that men couldn't seem to resist, and coupled with the will and desire to make Clara pay, Daddy Dearest didn't stand a chance...
Downstairs, I made my way silently across the low pile carpet. In the darkness, the distant glow of the sodium streetlights made the shadows lengthen, turning the familiar first floor into an alien landscape.
My destination was the master suite, a set of rooms I'd only been inside once, but remembered vividly.
Clara and I had snuck in while her mother was busy making dinner. It was eighth grade, and Clara wanted to steal a pair of earrings for the dance that night.
After raiding the jewelry box, Clara had taken a detour to her mother's underwear drawer and fished out a massive, purple dildo, giggling with childish naiveté at the idea of a woman getting herself off.
As Clara re-hid the marital aid, my eyes landed on a wastebasket and the pair of tied-off condoms atop the rest of the refuse.
George had been out of town for days.
If I had been less young and more worldly, I would have recognized this for what it was – direct evidence of a marriage about to implode.
As it was, I said nothing.
Even in the early days of our friendship, I knew better than to speak out of turn with Clara.
Now though, I twisted the knob of this forbidden room and tiptoed inside.
With the curtains drawn, it took my eyes a moment to adjust to the gloom. The door latch gave a quiet 'click' as I shut the door behind me and turned the lock.
On the wide expanse of linen and infidelity, George Coleman lay asleep on his back, a plain white t-shirt visible above the sheets.
I stood there for a moment, watching the slow, regular rise and fall of his chest.
Walking up to the bed, I stopped beside him, gently pulling back the covers to reveal his sleeping form.
Scanning down his body, I smirked when I noticed the insistent bulge in his grey sweatpants.
Let's see if we can help him out there...
I reached down to get my fingers around him when his hand shot out and caught my wrist.
"-what do you think you're doing?"

"-what do you think you're doing?"
Caught off guard, I said the first thing that came to my lips.
"I thought that'd be obvious?"
His eyes narrowed as he glared at me. "Get out of my room, Kelly."
"Hey now," I scolded, "at least hear me out."
He said nothing, keeping his hold on my wrist.
Scrambling, I said, "We could help each other..."
"No, we absolutely cannot."
"Wait-" This was going sideways fast.
"Goodnight, Kelly."
"Look," I blurted, going for 'bold', "have you ever banged high-school boys or college guys?"
George cocked an eyebrow. "Can't say that I have."
"I don't recommend it. High school boys have no clue how to please a woman, and college guys are too selfish to care." I paused, licking my lips nervously. "The closest I've come to a partnered climax is with my vibrator, and I'm goddamned sick of it."
George's dark eyes smoldered. "That sounds like a personal problem."
"Maybe," I admitted. "And maybe it's an area where we can help each other out."
"No way."
I shrugged. "Why not? You're single, and I'm eighteen, and on birth control and I know how to keep a secret."
"You're also my daughter's best friend."
"Yeah," I nodded, "and in three months, we're going to graduate and go to schools on opposite ends of the state." Pulling my wrist out of his grip, I sat on the bed and leaned closer to him, letting the bodice of my nightgown tighten against my breasts.
"Look, I might be young, but I'm not naïve – my friendship with Clara has an expiration date, and it's coming up fast. We're going to grow apart in college, and after this summer, you will probably never have to see me again."
"So," I brought my hand up to smooth down a sleep-tousled lock of his hair, "again, why not? I'll get some good shaft for once, you'll get some no-strings-attached private part, and in a couple months we part ways with no one the wiser."
"Clara-" The moment of uncertainty in his eyes was all I needed to spur me on.
"-will never have to know. Seriously, I don't want her to find out about this any more than you do." All I really wanted was the secret satisfaction of knowing what I'd done behind her back. There'd be some nuclear fallout if she ever found out the truth.
Leaning over him, I let my hair slip off of my shoulder and brush against his chest. "Look, you could say no. You could send me back upstairs, and tomorrow both of us could pretend that this never happened."
"Or," I began, climbing atop the bed to straddle him, "You could spend the next five months banging me raw."
His Adam's apple bobbed as he swallowed, and I saw his self-control teetering on a knife's edge.
Reaching down, I gripped the hem of my nightgown and pulled it over my head, tossing it aside.
My eyes watched him as he took in the shadowed curves of my body.
Smiling wickedly, I drew my hands up to my chest, tweaking my papillae as I pressed my breasts together with my arms.
Then, letting one hand trail down the soft skin of my abdomen, I slipped my fingers between my legs and rubbed the rigid, wet nub that ached with need.
I closed my eyes as the first sweet sparks of pleasure lit up my nerve endings.
When I felt my breath coming in deep, steady pants, I looked down at George to find his dark eyes on mine. Electric fire surged through my veins. I paused, mesmerized by the heady mix of lust and possessiveness I saw there.
"I didn't tell you to stop." He growled.
This man wanted me to get out mere moments ago. What...
And then, it clicked.
Cocking my head to the side, I asked, "You like to watch?"
"And you like to be watched." He countered.
"Interesting..." I licked my lips as my brain processed this delicious new information.
“Kelly..." his voice took on a dangerous edge.
"I'll keep going if you take your shirt off."
George glared but pulled his t-shirt up over his head and sent it flying onto the floor.
Looking down, I appreciated the glorious wealth of toned muscle that he'd revealed to me.
“Kelly." His tone was curt, annoyed.
My brow furrowed. "Were you always this demanding?"
"Were you always this-" He cut off with a moan as I rubbed myself against his growing shaft.
"Finish that sentence – I dare you."
Then, I grinned. This was going to be more fun than I expected.
Taking his hands, I placed them on my thighs, savoring the heat of his skin against mine.
Feeling his eyes on me, I brought my hand up to his lips.
"Open."
He obeyed, and I slid my index and middle fingers into the warm, wet cavern of his mouth. Then, I shivered as I felt his tongue rubbing against me.
Pulling out, I brought my hand down to my private part and flushed as I felt the heat and the moisture from his mouth against my cherry.
The pressure from his hands tightened on my thighs as I let loose a breathy moan.
Beginning to rub myself in slow circles, I let my hips shift beneath me, teasing him.
He grunted through gritted teeth, and I took that as all the encouragement that I needed.
Setting up a rhythm, I toyed with myself and tortured him, ramping up the pressure and friction for both of us.
As the tension built within me, I couldn't help the mewling whines that escaped my lips.
Was he going to make me release alone?
"Please..." I whispered.
"Please, what?"
"Please, bang me!"
In an instant, he had us flipped over so that he loomed over me, his breath hot against my cheek.
“Kelly, all you had to do was ask-" My thoughts cut off as his lips took mine and his hand found the throbbing, wet mess between my thighs.
Pulling away, he breathed, "Baby, you're soaked..."
I couldn't answer him, I just whined and writhed against his hand.
Glancing over his shoulder, he muttered, "I have an idea."
...
Standing in front of the mirror in the bathroom of the master suite, I watched as George wound his hands around me, pulling me back against his warm, broad torso.
"Now, because you asked me nicely, I'm going to bang you." I shivered as I felt him press his shaft against my back.
"But, you are going to need to be very, very quiet." His voice lowered as his mouth dipped down to my ear. "We don't want you waking up the whole household, now do we?"
Meeting his gaze in the mirror, I shook my head.
I felt his lips curve into a smile.
"Good girl."
Taking a hand away from me, he stepped away and I saw the grey fabric of his sweatpants slide down to the floor.
When he came back to me, the heat of his skin scorched me from my scalp to my ankles.
Taking my hips in his hands, he commanded, "Bend over."
Trembling, I obeyed, resting my forearms on the counter.
"Now, you said something about, 'raw'?"
I nodded, "Please..."
Clara may not have learned much from her first pregnancy scare, but I'd gone home and asked Mom for an IUD. It would take an act of God to get me pregnant at this point.
George fondled my folds, sinking a finger inside of me, and then another.
"Baby, you are so pretty when you beg me to bang you."
He stroked inside of me, and I bit back a frustrated moan. His fingers could soothe the ache, but only one thing would ever truly satisfy it...
"Please!" I whispered.
"Oh?" he pulled his fingers out and pressed the smooth tip of his shaft against me. "Oh, did you want this instead?" | LEARN_MORE | https://a.deerfiction.com/ad/ZGVlcmZpY3Rpb24vMTY4O | 108215462372296 | Derf001 | https://facebook.com/100095771432063 | 109 | 1 | 1,171,974,180,482,871 | 2024-05-06 02:00 | person_profile | eligible | 0 | 0 | NONE | 0 | 0 | 1 | 0 | Learn more | 0 | Derf001 | 120209291864010346 | a.deerfiction.com | NONE | video | https://a.deerfiction.com/ad/ZGVlcmZpY3Rpb24vMTY4OTg2LzIwMjQwNDMwMTQyNDMzL3BhZ2U=?adid={{ad.id}} | 2024-04-30 01:28 | https://scontent-iad3-2.xx.fbcdn.net/v/t39.35426-6/439203312_1136639130862925_447841018008120171_n.jpg?stp=dst-jpg_s60x60&_nc_cat=109&ccb=1-7&_nc_sid=c53f8f&_nc_ohc=tUwogL_J5JgQ7kNvgH63kqA&_nc_ht=scontent-iad3-2.xx&oh=00_AfD52lkFWZX9r8UyqMucJuDqqDENoMCsZQWuiVbkOujD5w&oe=663F3992 | person_profile | 0 | Derf001 | https://scontent-iad3-1.xx.fbcdn.net/v/t39.35426-6/439259344_7255433847887867_4191704602637607144_n.jpg?_nc_cat=104&ccb=1-7&_nc_sid=c53f8f&_nc_ohc=9GA3cxv53w0Q7kNvgGj2dv7&_nc_ht=scontent-iad3-1.xx&oh=00_AfBw_R1OuP7vfNYgFisvt6SgzJ2st3FaYI03sLRAsLO7IQ&oe=663F3947 | 0 | 3 | Derf001 | 0 | 0 | 2024-05-06 02:00 | View Edit Delete

Her delicate skin was mostly hidden under a sheer blanket, with only her arms peeking out, bearing the faint red traces of a night filled with passion.

Cynthia Jenkins stirred, letting out a soft moan as she woke from her deep sleep. She tried to get up, but her body, still weary and sore, sank back onto the bed.

Memories from the night before came rushing back, bringing a faint smile to her face. For the first time in their three-year marriage, she and her husband, Nathan Richardson, had made love.

She noticed Nathan wasn't in the room, and a tinge of disappointment flickered across her face, quickly replaced by composure.

At the beginning of their marriage, Nathan had been distant, rarely showing any affection. Cynthia couldn't help but wonder if last night marked a turning point, a sign that he had finally accepted her.

With a flicker of hope, Cynthia rose cheerfully from the bed. The moment her bare feet touched the cold floor, she felt a sudden chill.

Picking up a blue sapphire cufflink, oddly shaped and shimmering, from the floor, Cynthia widened her eyes in surprise. 'Could this be Nathan's?'

Thinking of this, Cynthia smiled and placed the cufflink in her bag. Then, she went to freshen up herself before returning home.

Cynthia had barely stepped out of the door when she ran into an unexpected visitor.

"Cynthia?" The woman in front of her, dressed in a crisp white dress and possessing a sharp, piercing voice, was Kelly Dixon, the second lady of the Dixon family.

Cynthia had always been at odds with the Dixon sisters. Jessica Dixon, the eldest lady of the family, was Nathan's first love. But today, Cynthia was in a good mood. "Kelly, what a surprise to see you here."

"Indeed." Kelly sized up Cynthia with a mocking smile. "If I had arrived a bit earlier or later, I might have missed catching you in the act."

She pointed at the red marks on Cynthia's arms with disdain. "What is this? You shameless woman! How dare you fooling around with other men behind Nathan's back!"

Cynthia frowned, "What are you talking about?"

"Cynthia, I've always known you're shameless, clinging to Nathan. But I never pegged you as someone who'd stoop this low." Kelly's eyes sparkled with the thrill of uncovering a juicy piece of gossip. "Are you really going to say these marks are from a night with Nathan?"

Before Cynthia could utter a word, Kelly cut her off. "Please, cut the act. Nathan was at the hospital last night, staying by my sister's side. He was too busy to even catch a nap, much less waste time on someone like you."

Cynthia's face changed dramatically. "Nathan was at the hospital?"

"Where else would he be? You think he'd come to see you?" Kelly's voice was thick with sarcasm, as if she had just heard something ridiculous. "You've been caught sneaking around with someone else, and I'm not letting this slide so easily!

"I'm going to show Nathan just how low you can go!" Kelly declared, her resolve unwavering. "I'm calling him right now to come over!"

Cynthia couldn't absorb a word. Her mind went blank.

If Nathan had spent the entire night in the hospital, then who was the man who had been so passionately entwined with her last night?

A sudden realization made Cynthia's face darken.

She had been set up!

Yesterday was their three-year wedding anniversary, and Nathan surprisingly messaged her to meet at a hotel.

Overjoyed and without a second thought, Cynthia rushed over. But when she arrived, Nathan texted to say he would be late and even ordered her some takeout.

Cynthia, not sensing anything amiss and simply savoring the food, didn't expect to completely lose consciousness after finishing her meal. And that man last night...

As Cynthia thought about everything that happened last night, her face turned deathly pale. 'How could this happen?'

"Nathan already hates you for taking Jessica's place, and now, he'll never forgive you!" Kelly said triumphantly after a quick phone call. She stood firmly in Cynthia's path, blocking her exit.

Cynthia hadn't even considered leaving. She felt a chill run down her spine. Besides, there weren't many people who could send a message using Nathan's phone.

Soon, Nathan hurried down the corridor. "Kelly, did you need something from me?"

He glanced at Cynthia with impatience. "What are you doing here? Jessica is still in the hospital. What are you up to now?"

"I..." Cynthia opened her mouth, her mind in turmoil, unsure how to respond to him.

"Nathan, I called you here," Kelly interjected eagerly. "I just so happened to see Cynthia sneaking out of a hotel room with some guy. It's serious, so I had to tell you."

Nathan's face darkened instantly. "Cynthia, is it true?"

"Would you believe me if I say I was framed?" Cynthia's eyes held a flicker of hope. "It was you who..."

A smack came!

Nathan's hand struck her face with a resounding slap, his expression cold and detached.

"Pathetic! Why would anyone frame you?" Nathan's eyes blazed with anger at the sight of the red marks on Cynthia's arms.

Even if he had no feelings for Cynthia, she was still his wife in name. This was nothing but a shame to him.

Kelly watched with a smirk, stirring the pot. "Exactly, you must be delusional to think someone's out to get you.

"Nathan, she's just lashing out because you're nice to Jessica. I caught her once, but who knows how many times she's cheated on you. Wake up, man."

"What else do you have to say?" Nathan's gaze was filled with disgust.

"What can I say?" Cynthia touched her burning cheek, a cold despair settling in her heart. She looked at Nathan, fighting the urge to laugh bitterly. "Nathan, don't you even want to ask why I ended up here?"

It was ridiculous that her husband seemed to be solely dedicated to helping others deceive her.

Nathan's eyes were full of disgust. "What exactly are you trying to say?"

Cynthia felt utterly disheartened. She held up her phone, emphasizing each word. "Your phone sent me a message to come here. I trusted it and showed up. Did you text me, Nathan?"

Nathan's gaze flickered. Last night, after getting treated, Jessica borrowed his phone...

"It seems you know now who it was." Cynthia noticed his evasive look and had her suspicions. She smiled through her tears, "Nathan, I'm your wife. I'm the one being framed."

Kelly quickly interjected, "Nathan, don't fall for her act. She's just looking for an excuse..."

"This is between me and my husband. It's not your place to interfere," Cynthia retorted, showing her temper in front of Nathan for the first time.

"You..." Kelly was furious and about to retort.

However, Nathan had made up his mind at that moment. "I sent the text. I got tied up, sure, but that's no excuse for you cheating!"

"It seems this is your choice, then." Cynthia's heart turned cold. Despite knowing she was wronged, he still chose to defend that hypocritical woman. She couldn't believe this was the man she loved.

Nathan didn't show any sign of guilt. "Cynthia, it's you who fooled around with another man. Who else is there to blame?"

Even though he felt somewhat uncomfortable about what Jessica did, he still firmly sided with her.

"I was blind to have trusted the wrong person."

Cynthia closed her eyes, and when she opened them moments later, they were clear and resolved. "Nathan, let's get a divorce."

..............................................................................
"Cynthia, what on earth are you thinking?" Nathan frowned slightly while Kelly's eyes flickered with surprise.

Cynthia gave a self-mocking smile. "Nathan, I'm not someone who clings to what I can't have. Remember, I'm the one walking away from you, not the other way around."

With those words, Cynthia felt a sudden clarity in her heart.

"Cynthia, you're the one who messed up, but here you are, playing word games. Are you threatening Nathan?" Kelly said, secretly pleased.

Cynthia glanced coldly at her. "Kelly, sometimes, you should just stay quiet."

But Nathan's response caught Cynthia off guard. "I don't agree to the divorce."

Cynthia let out a bitter laugh. "Isn't this what you've always wanted? Now that I'm stepping aside, you can be with Jessica happily ever after. Why disagree?

"Or is there something more you're after, something you haven't gotten from me yet?" Cynthia's tone shifted, causing a subtle change in the expressions of the two before her.

She didn't think herself so self-absorbed to believe Nathan still had feelings for her. Their reactions pretty much confirmed her suspicions.

"I guess I was right." Cynthia curled up her lips. "So, Nathan, what's it gonna take for you to sign those divorce papers?"

Nathan's eyes were deep and solemn. At this point, there was nothing left to hide. "Jessica's really sick, Cynthia, and you're the only one who can donate a kidney to save her. That's my only condition. Help her, and you won't regret it, I promise."

Cynthia was thunderstruck, her voice hoarse with disbelief. "You mean, this whole time...you were just after my kidney?"

"Jessica is the only one Nathan loves. Why else would he marry you if not to save her?" Kelly sneered, and Nathan's look confirmed that she was right.

Cynthia felt a chill in her heart. It all made sense now. Nathan had initially balked at his grandfather Mark Richardson's suggestion of marrying Cynthia. He had been adamant about marrying Jessica instead, only to abruptly change his mind when Cynthia was nearly ready to walk away.

She had hoped that, over time, Nathan might come to love her. But she realized now that from the very start, he had been scheming for her kidney!

"Cynthia," Nathan said, softening his tone deliberately. "Just help me out this one time, and I promise to keep today's drama under wraps. I'll make it worth your while, enough to start over somewhere far away."

"In your dreams, Nathan." Cynthia emphasized each word. "Sure, I had feelings for you, but not enough to degrade myself like this."

"Looks like you choose the hard way." Nathan, never one with a good temper, immediately hardened his stance. "If you refuse to donate a kidney to Jessica, I will absolutely not agree to the divorce."

Cynthia laughed angrily and retorted, "Fine by me. Do you have any idea how hard I worked to marry you? If you want to grow old with me, then so be it."

"Cynthia!" Nathan's face soured. He was about to speak when Cynthia ruthlessly cut him off.

"I just give you one chance, Nathan. Be at the Courthouse entrance at 9 AM sharp tomorrow. If you don't show up..."

Cynthia smirked coldly. "Then even better. Jessica can forget about marrying into the Richardson family. And I'll make sure to remind you that you'll be a cuckolds for the rest of your life!"

With that, Cynthia turned and left, not bothering to give Nathan or Kelly a second glance.

"Nathan, what if she refuses the surgery? What about Jessica?" Kelly, watching Cynthia's retreating figure, feigned urgency.

Nathan's gaze was deep. "Don't worry. I'll find a way to make her agree."

As Cynthia stepped out of the hotel, a sleek Rolls-Royce Phantom suddenly pulled up, blocking her path.

The window rolled down, showing a woman in her forties, still exuding charm, a face often seen on financial news.

"You're right on time, Mom." Recognizing the woman, Cynthia wasn't surprised at all, her voice and posture shifting to something more dignified.

"Get in," Heather Brooks said calmly.

With a deep breath, Cynthia got into the back seat. Throughout the ride, they hardly talked to each other.

In Litharia, Jenkins Villa stood majestically in the most coveted scenic area, home to the affluent Jenkins family.

"I've heard the story between you and Nathan. So, have you finally seen Nathan's true colors?"

In the living room of Jenkins Villa, Heather sipped her coffee, looking at Cynthia indifferently. "It's time for you to come back and take over the family business."

..............................................................................
Heather had five children, and aside from her only daughter, Cynthia, the other four sons kept their identities hidden, excelling in their fields but refusing to take over the family business.

Left with no other option, Heather pinned her hopes on Cynthia.

Cynthia breathed deeply, only then realizing that she had been under her mother's watchful eye for these past three years.

It wasn't surprising, though. Since her father's death, the Jenkins family had been fragmented. Heather wasn't truly a Jenkins. Although she had been holding the reins, she was surrounded by those eyeing her position. Eventually, Heather had grown accustomed to keeping everything under her control, leaving no stone unturned.

"It's not possible right now," Cynthia said somewhat helplessly.

Heather's eyes narrowed as she spoke firmly. "What, you still have feelings for him?"

"Of course not," Cynthia couldn't help but laugh dryly. "Mom, I just need some time to divorce him. I promise, after the divorce, I will definitely return to the Jenkins family."

Cynthia mused, why did she ever waste three years pining for Nathan?

Getting the response she wanted, Heather nodded in satisfaction. "That's more like a Jenkins girl. Also..."

"What is it?" Seeing Heather hesitating to speak, Cynthia was curious.

Heather spoke steadily. "The man you slept with at the hotel, do you recall who he is?"

Cynthia's expression froze, and she remained silent.

"I'm thinking about finding this man. If he's decent enough, we could welcome him into the family. The Jenkins can certainly afford to support one more. This would also solidify your position in the family."

What Heather left unsaid was that if the man was not up to her standard, the consequences were obvious.

Cynthia was at a loss for words. She didn't even know how to argue with that.

Back in her room, Cynthia lay on the bed, overwhelmed. What happened today was more thrilling than her life during the past three years combined.

She absently played with the cufflink in her hand, a lone clue left by the mysterious man from the previous night.

Suddenly, Cynthia realized something and sat up abruptly. The cufflink was a limited edition, and her brother, the third sir of the Jenkins, Eric Jenkins, also a leading designer, might know its origin.

Without hesitation, Cynthia called Eric.

"Thia, you've finally taken your eyes off that idiot, huh? What's up?" Eric's voice was cheerful over the phone.

Cynthia couldn't help but smile, "Starting today, Nathan and I have nothing to do with each other. We're getting divorced tomorrow."

At that moment, in the midst of a major international jewelry show, Eric sat up straight. "What? What on earth happened to make the blind girl finally see the light?"

Cynthia laughed. "Come on, stop kidding. Are you free right now? I could really use your help. Check your messages. I've sent you a picture. Can you figure out where this thing's from?"

The next morning, outside the Courthouse, Nathan stood with a stern expression. He arrived on time and had been waiting for two hours without a glimpse of Cynthia.

His calls went unanswered, and just as his patience was running thin, Cynthia finally arrived.

She was dressed to the nines, radiant and elegant, a stark contrast to her former self. Nathan almost didn't recognize her at first sight.

"What now? Getting cold feet about the divorce?" Seeing Cynthia slowly making her appearance, Nathan thought she regretted her decision not to divorce and had dressed up like this to win him back, feeling smug.

"Getting cold feet? Why do I have to?" Cynthia touched her earring. She had intentionally made Nathan wait outside today.

Cynthia was certain that Nathan wouldn't leave as long as his goal remained unmet, even if it meant waiting there all day.

Nathan snorted, "As long as you're willing to help Jessica, we can still be friends."

"What are you thinking? We're getting divorced and you still think we can be friends?" Cynthia scoffed dismissively. "You know what, Nathan? I've changed my mind. Why should I rely on a man who's after my organs? There are plenty of decent men out there, like that guy from the hotel. I'm quite satisfied with him."

Even if Nathan had once saved her life, the help she had given him secretly over the past three years was more than enough to settle any debt.

"Shameless!" Nathan didn't expect Cynthia to change her attitude so quickly, grinding his teeth in anger.

Cynthia was unapologetic. "And what about you? Let's go. I can hardly wait." | LEARN_MORE | https://www.yumread.com/share/middle/hi4orr0xtkbxs | 119497494574812 | Lereader-Great Novel | https://facebook.com/61550087387871 | 193 | 2 | 416,493,387,686,252 | 2024-05-06 02:00 | person_profile | eligible | 0 | 0 | NONE | 0 | 1 | 0 | 0 | Learn more | 0 | Lereader-Great Novel | 120207936393050449 | www.yumread.com | NONE | video | https://www.yumread.com/share/middle/hi4orr0xtkbxsaqtqgsdgqx3?ad_id={{ad.id}}&sid=120207936371520449&campaign={{campaign.name}}&adgroup={{adset.name}} | 2024-05-06 06:34 | https://scontent-iad3-2.xx.fbcdn.net/v/t39.35426-6/438301401_1136849807645988_7421275417096276808_n.jpg?stp=dst-jpg_s60x60&_nc_cat=111&ccb=1-7&_nc_sid=c53f8f&_nc_ohc=biGJukfhfuwQ7kNvgEeMMDo&_nc_ht=scontent-iad3-2.xx&oh=00_AfDaH2BcexmStL53OsUNYjFTlZ9W1akJ_dt1rc-D9KHZYQ&oe=663F49BA | person_profile | 0 | Lereader-Great Novel | https://scontent-iad3-2.xx.fbcdn.net/v/t39.35426-6/438275222_1862434984216329_5816093731845781024_n.jpg?_nc_cat=109&ccb=1-7&_nc_sid=c53f8f&_nc_ohc=Sj8fCjFfWK8Q7kNvgEVOijD&_nc_ht=scontent-iad3-2.xx&oh=00_AfB52iTpTCc7EYIiyDQosXqXmzIubO7aqNvrDJVpql_dXA&oe=663F4757 | 0 | 3 | Lereader-Great Novel | 0 | 0 | 2024-05-06 02:00 | View Edit Delete

"Oh?" he pulled his fingers out and pressed the smooth tip of his shaft against me. "Oh, did you want this instead?" | LEARN_MORE | https://a.mobobooks.com/ad/TW9ib29rcy8xNjg5OTEvMjA | 123910400815364 | Mob001 | https://facebook.com/61553314005849 | 54 | 1 | 1,539,931,199,918,982 | 2024-05-06 02:00 | person_profile | eligible | 0 | 0 | NONE | 0 | 0 | 1 | 0 | Learn more | 0 | Mob001 | 120208809254360415 | a.mobobooks.com | NONE | video | https://a.mobobooks.com/ad/TW9ib29rcy8xNjg5OTEvMjAyNDA0MzAxNDI0NDAvcGFnZQ==?adid={{ad.id}} | 2024-04-30 01:29 | https://scontent-iad3-2.xx.fbcdn.net/v/t39.35426-6/440408380_369328722155668_8533473848120742930_n.jpg?stp=dst-jpg_s60x60&_nc_cat=105&ccb=1-7&_nc_sid=c53f8f&_nc_ohc=HgrPbchEXMsQ7kNvgGVaII3&_nc_ht=scontent-iad3-2.xx&oh=00_AfA4Z7dSUe4125GrQdQ5rDNsvl7b3JzrIbJk1l22x1XTQw&oe=663F60E2 | person_profile | 0 | Mob001 | https://scontent-iad3-2.xx.fbcdn.net/v/t39.35426-6/440120721_678432617701624_9185447706041784154_n.jpg?_nc_cat=111&ccb=1-7&_nc_sid=c53f8f&_nc_ohc=ZPoSOz3R8lAQ7kNvgHdE_Xg&_nc_ht=scontent-iad3-2.xx&oh=00_AfBNKgvAdnbrlr3fVe3SpGeHK8Oz-9wl7gPWCXMkTThNZg&oe=663F425B | 0 | 3 | Mob001 | 0 | 0 | 2024-05-06 02:00 | View Edit Delete

Let's go. I can hardly wait." | LEARN_MORE | https://www.yumread.com/share/middle/hi4orr0xtkbxs | 119497494574812 | Lereader-Great Novel | https://facebook.com/61550087387871 | 193 | 2 | 1,169,432,314,075,200 | 2024-05-06 02:00 | person_profile | eligible | 0 | 0 | NONE | 0 | 1 | 0 | 0 | Learn more | 0 | Lereader-Great Novel | 120207936380110449 | www.yumread.com | NONE | video | https://www.yumread.com/share/middle/hi4orr0xtkbxsaqtqgsdgqx3?ad_id={{ad.id}}&sid=120207936376780449&campaign={{campaign.name}}&adgroup={{adset.name}} | 2024-05-06 06:36 | https://scontent-iad3-2.xx.fbcdn.net/v/t39.35426-6/438164208_406959712153232_2685843937814464243_n.jpg?stp=dst-jpg_s60x60&_nc_cat=105&ccb=1-7&_nc_sid=c53f8f&_nc_ohc=rsA-X-J4KVAQ7kNvgGCmqDF&_nc_ht=scontent-iad3-2.xx&oh=00_AfAU-80MkakqXqAQRUT43H9N65kLPhj1s1fu6P7jaRBFCA&oe=663F58AA | person_profile | 0 | Lereader-Great Novel | https://scontent-iad3-1.xx.fbcdn.net/v/t39.35426-6/441187393_782841633803668_172457485066488812_n.jpg?_nc_cat=104&ccb=1-7&_nc_sid=c53f8f&_nc_ohc=bz6H1mQIYxoQ7kNvgGLNUAV&_nc_ht=scontent-iad3-1.xx&oh=00_AfAX4HqpFob2Eu8yWqQnszXC_CENSe0zzy1jhYOxpkeFiA&oe=663F56B6 | 0 | 3 | Lereader-Great Novel | 0 | 0 | 2024-05-06 02:00 | View Edit Delete

He said quietly.
"Eddie was Casey on the couch." Her voice came out robotically.
"That prick!" Bastian swore. He reached out and pulled Mira into a tight hug. She put her head on his shoulder and began to cry. He was going to destroy that man. He never liked Mira's husband and thought she could do so much better - if he was being honest, by better he meant he was better, but that wasn't the point right now - Casey, he didn't know very well. She was beautiful but she reminded him of his ex-wife and when she hit on him, he bluntly turned her down by telling her he didn't date women like her.
"What does that mean?"
"The type I see in court." was all he said. The implication was clear, he generally represented rich older men who married the twenty-something side piece during their mid-life crisis and didn't have the sense to get a prenup beforehand.
"What do you need me to do Mira?" He spoke quietly, needing her permission to get started.
Mira sniffed and looked up at him. "Tear him apart."
"Good girl." Bastian smiled coldly and picked up the phone. Several phone calls later and they were heading back to her house. She walked in and found them both sitting on the couch. Eddie had his head in his hands and Casey was rubbing his back. They both looked up when she appeared in the doorway, Bastian was outside and she was recording on her phone.
"Mira!" Eddie started to get up. "Let me explain..." Mira held her hand up and he fell silent. Bastian had coached her on what to do and say on the way back.
"Remain calm and emotionless. Ask questions and don't let him deflect or gaslight you. Stay on track." He reached over and took her hand, squeezing lightly. "You got this Bunny and I'm right beside you."
"How long have you been her?"
"Mira."
"Answer the question!" She snapped.
"A year." Casey said quietly and Eddie turned and glared at her.
"Shut up!"
"Thank you." She took off her wedding ring and laid it quietly on the table. She didn't care about anything else, there was no coming back from that. "I'm going to go pack a bag. All further communication between us will go through our lawyers." She laid Bastian's card on the table next to her rings. "He will let your lawyer know when I will be coming to pick up the rest of my things."
"We don't need to go through lawyers Mira." Eddie's face paled.
"Oh, I think we do." She turned and headed to the bedroom, pulled her suitcase from the closet, and began packing it. Eddie followed her, pleading for her to keep lawyers out of it. She pulled out her phone and texted Bastian to come in. She ignored Eddie and continued to pack her important documents, clothes, and jewelry.
"All communication with my client goes through me from this point forward." Bastain came into the room and stood to one side of the door with his arms folded. At 6'2 and 210 lbs. of muscle and an air of drillaround and find out about him, Eddie backed off and went out and sat on the couch next to Casey.
"We're drilled." Bastain heard him mutter which made him grin. He had no idea just how prick he was. Bastian always went above and beyond for his clients, but he would go to the ends of the earth for Mira.
....
Over the next six months, Bastian began to systematically destroy Mirabelle's soon-to-be ex-husband. She had them on recording admitting to the year-long affair and Bastian had a financial auditor who combed through their joint financials and found Eddie had spent upwards of twenty-five thousand dollars on Casey, booking hotel rooms, mini-vacations, and buying her gifts. He handed the findings of the financial audit over to a private investigator who used them to find numerous security videos of the two of them at various hotels, restaurants, and public spaces all around the country.
Their house was sold and the money was taken from his portion of the sale to go back to Mirabelle. Because Eddie and Casey worked together at a very prestigious law firm themselves and had used company resources to perpetuate the affair, and Bastian and Mirabelle were former employees of said firm and still on good terms with the law partners there, they had quietly passed along the findings and gotten them both fired.
Eddie didn't sit by quietly while all this was going on. He showed up at Mirabelle's new condo numerous times, begging her to stop what she was doing and to show some mercy. Bastian was done with the harassment and told Mirabelle to text him the next time he showed up and keep him talking until he got there. So she did as he asked, the next time Eddie ambushed her in the lobby, she stopped to hear him out.
"Mirabelle, please, I made a mistake, I'm sorry and I'm begging you to stop this nonsense, for God's sake."
"No."
"What do you mean no?"
"I asked you if I needed to be concerned about Casey, and you said no. I asked you to step back from her, not cut her off, just step back because I was uncomfortable and you told me I had to get over it and deal with your friendship." Mirabelle smiled. "But when you wanted me to spend less time with Bast, I did. I told him I couldn't work overtime unless there was an upcoming court case. I stepped back and told him we needed some distance because you were uncomfortable and because I loved and respected you enough to do it."
"So to that end, when it comes to Bastian handling the divorce and what you're now going through I suggest you get over it and deal with it. You're the one who decided to have a year-long affair, not me. You should have just asked for a divorce before you drilled her. I would have given it to you, no questions, none of this nonesense."
"You were told not to contact my client!" Bastian came storming up to him.
"Relax, Avery. She agreed to talk..." Eddie trailed off as he looked back at Mirabelle. "You bimbo."
"My client did what I instructed her to do if you showed up at her home looking to talk to her again. Message me and keep you talking until I got here." Bastain handed him an envelope.
"What's this?"
"An emergency order of protection. You and Miss. Harrison are to stay at least three hundred feet away from Ms. Adrien. You have been told numerous times to stop your harassment of her by both me and your lawyer and you have refused to do so. Going forward, you'll be arrested should you decide to inflict your presence on her again." Bastian looked at Mirabelle. "Go upstairs Mira, I'll be up shortly."
Eddie was reading through the paperwork. "I can't believe this." He glared at Bastian. "Seriously?"
"Seriously. I can't believe you're a lawyer and are struggling with the concept of only contacting someone through their lawyer when told to do so."
"I know you're only doing this because you think she'll turn to you."
"I'm doing this for her because we've been friends since we were eight years old and she deserves so much better than you."
"Prick."
Bastian shrugged. "Yeah." He chuckled. "I am." When he got up to Mirabelle's condo he knocked and let himself in. "You okay?
"I'm great. I got to say some stuff I wanted to say. Felt good." Mirabelle walked over and handed him a scotch. "And thanks to you, I don't have to speak to him ever again."
"Mira, it has been my absolute pleasure." He raised his glass to her and took a sip, sitting next to her on the couch.
"What would I do without you?
"Find another lawyer who wouldn't be as ruthless." He grinned at her. "It's only another month and this will all be over Mira. They've set the court date."
"You just keep bringing me good news." She smiled at him.
Bastian threw his arm around her shoulders. "I also think his lawyer is gonna convince him to settle." He gave her a gentle squeeze. "I was thinking, when this is done, you want to head up to the cabin for a week? I think we could both use a break."
"That would be incredible!" She studied him. "What aren't you telling me? Why do you need a break?"
"John wants to bring in another lawyer. The current front runner is Kelly."
"As in his daughter Kelly? the one who tried to baby-trap you?"
"That's the one." Bastian put his feet up on her coffee table and glared at them. "If I leave and start my own practice, you'd come with me, right? Dust off your law degree and be my partner?"
"Well duh. I chase you to Henderson, Bastian. I follow you when you leave. You're stuck with me for life." She smiled at him. "And I'll have your back no matter what."
....
Three months later, Bastian stopped by her desk on his way in. "Hey Bunny." He smiled and passed over the tea he had picked up for her. "You ready for our cabin trip?"
"Thank you." Mirabelle flashed him a smile. "Is it actually happening this time?"
"We have court this afternoon and then I've cleared my calendar for the next week."
"Uh-huh. Forgive me if I don't believe you." She sipped her tea and passed him some paperwork.
"I swear, no more rescheduling." He promised.
"I'm going with or without you this time." She shrugged. "So if you reschedule, you'll be working here without me for a week."
"Threats Mira?" He raised his eyebrow.
"No, Bast. Promises. My boss has approved the time off." She smirked. "It's not my problem that the new lawyer has decided you are the answer to all her problems and you indulge her. I refuse to put off my much-needed vacation for her or you any longer."
"I have no choice but to "indulge her" Mira." Bastian frowned. "Henderson keeps letting her take cases on that she's not ready for and I don't want our reputation going to because Daddy wants his little girl to succeed."
"Mmm." Mirabelle hummed. "Regardless, I'm leaving tomorrow at ten, with or without you."
Bast tapped the papers on her head. "I'll be ready. Come on, let's go find the princess and go over this stuff one more time before we head to the courthouse."
They won the case and as Bastian and Mirabelle were leaving, Kelly came running up behind them. "Bast! Come on, we have to go celebrate!" She shoved her way between them and gripped his arm. Bastian frowned as Mirabelle stumbled and just caught herself before she fell.
"Oh, sorry." Kelly smirked at Mirabelle before turning her attention to Bastian again. "Please?" She drew the word out childishly and Mirabelle gave her a look of deep disgust.
"One drink." Bastian allowed. "Mira? Are you coming?"
"no." Mirabelle glared at him and walked away.
"What's her problem?" Kelly asked. "You shouldn't let you're assistant speak to you that way, you know, it sets a bad precedence."
"Mira can speak to me any way she wants to." Bastian frowned at her. "You should learn to act like an adult and not a teenager." He pulled his arm free. "I have an hour if you want to get a drink, I have to be ready to go early tomorrow."
Mirabelle got in her car and let out a frustrated scream.she hated that woman. She almost instantly regretted saying no. Bastian shouldn't be left alone with her. She was willing to bet one drink would turn into several and another baby scare in a few weeks. She was dumb enough to not remember the last time.
Bastian and Mirabelle had met Kelly Henderson at a Christmas party three years ago and she had latched herself on to Bastian like some kind of whiny woman-child leech. Bastian had woken up the next morning with her in his bed and a vague memory of her getting in the cab with him and taking her home. She had come into the office six weeks later and pushed past Mirabelle to slam a positive pregnancy test on his desk. John Henderson had come in as well and began yelling at Bastian about making an honest woman out of her until Bastian got over his shock and started to laugh. When asked what was so funny, he informed them that he had gotten a vasectomy five years before when he caught his pregnant ex-wife cheating on him and a DNA test proved he wasn't the father. He had done all the follow-ups and had medical proof his sweat count was zero but he would step up as long as a DNA test on the fetus proved it was his.
Kelly had gotten very quiet and it was only when Henderson promised to make Bastian a partner that he backed down from quitting and suing Kelly out of existence. "She's young and stupid Bast, I'll keep her away from you." John had forgotten his end of the bargain. She knew Bastian was getting his ducks in a row to leave and doing his best to not cause waves, but that meant Mirabelle had to put up with Kelly's attitude too, and the attempt to push her down had pushed her past her breaking point.
Bastain was taking far too long to make his exit, if he wasn't ready to go tomorrow morning, or if she got there and Kelly was in his bed, she would be leaving her resignation on his table, along with the check for his services as her lawyer. He had refused payment after the divorce was settled, but she had written the check anyway and planned to just deposit it into his account, knowing he would never notice.
She looked up and saw Bastian coming toward her car. She seriously considered driving away but decided to see what he wanted. When he was beside her door, she lowered the window. "Are you sure you don't want to come?"
"I could come, but you'd be bailing me out tomorrow."
"Mira..." He sighed. "You have to be professional."
"Why? She isn't."
"You're better than her."
"So why don't you hold her up to the standard you hold me up to Bast? Why does she get away with almost shoving me to the ground, but I'm told to be professional for expressing my displeasure at it?" She glared at him. "Thanks so much for standing up for me back there, the way you came to my defense warmed my cold, dead heart."
"You're right Bunny, I'm sorry. I should have said something." Bastian felt guilt curl in his stomach. Mirabelle scoffed and folded her arms. "It's only a little bit longer Mira and we'll be able to leave."
"I'll believe it when I see it Bast." She shook her head. "I'm near the end of my rope, she treats me like I'm less than a dog, and honestly, the fact that you agreed to a drink with her..." She shook her head again. "Be ready at ten, I will leave without you if you're not." She pulled out her parking space and drove off before he had a chance to reply.
....
Five minutes to ten the following morning Mira pulled up to Bastian's condo building and let herself in. She had almost just kept going to the cabin, not believing he'd be up and ready to go. He had texted her a few times throughout the evening, each time letting her know he was heading home, the last time had been close to midnight. So much for one celebratory drink.
She unlocked the door and let herself in, it was quiet, but she could hear the shower in the bedroom going and groaned. Of course, he wasn't ready. She was just about to turn to leave when the door opened and Bastian walked out. He froze when he saw her, guilt blooming across his face.
"Mira." He croaked.
"Hey Bast." She leaned on the counter, smiling humorlessly. "Should I wait and see who comes out of the shower or is it who I think it is?
"It's not what you think." He started and winced as the words came out.
"Seriously?" she laughed harshly. "So you didn't bring that bimbo back here last night after your one celebratory drink and drill her, knowing full well what she did to you the last time?"
"I brought her back here, but..."
"Nope. I don't care. It's none of my business, I'm just your PA and..." She dug through her purse and laid the envelope with her resignation and the check on the island. "At the end of my vacation, I'm not even that anymore." She placed the keys to his condo on top of the envelope and turned to leave.
"Mira, let me explain." Bastian moved quickly toward her.
"I told you if you weren't ready at ten I was leaving without you. I left out the part about me resigning, but I was hoping I wouldn't have to."
"Mira!" Bastian chased her out into the hall and down to the elevator. "Will you just let me explain!" He caught her arm and spun her to face him. "I didn't sleep with her, I slept on the couch, she got herself wasted and I couldn't just leave her alone, she's showering because she vomited all over herself and my bed and that's why I'm not ready to go, I was cleaning up. I'm sorry, I'm packed, we just need to drop her off at her place and we can go."
"Why did you have to look after her at all Bast? Why didn't you just call her father to come to get her?" Bastian blinked and she knew he had thought of that and Kelly had begged him not to. "You knew we were leaving at ten. You know how done I am!" Tears filled her eyes and she pulled herself from his grip. "Why are everyone else's wants and feelings more important than mine? Including the girl you say you can't stand?" She jammed the call button for the elevator, the doors opened and she got on.
"Bunny, I'm sorry." Bastian put his hand out and stopped the doors from closing. "Just come back and let me get her out and we'll go."
"I don't want to go anymore." Mira said quietly. "I want to be alone." She heard a door open and Kelly's nasally, whiny voice reached them.
"Bast?" Bastian looked down the hall and then at Mirabelle.
"Go on, she needs your help."
"I'll come to see you later."
"I wouldn't bother."
"Mira we need to talk. You can't just resign and make all these decisions without discussing things with me."
"Pretty sure I can." She shrugged.
"Bast?" Kelly called again. "What are you doing?"
"Go on." Mira encouraged him. "She's calling you."
"This isn't fair Mira." Bast was starting to get angry. "You know if I had another choice..."
"You had lots of choices Bast! And in every single one of them, you have put me last and made me put my head down and be the bigger person! I'm done." She pushed his hand off the door and it slid shut.
Bastian swore loudly and spun around, he stormed down the hall and glared at Kelly who looked a little afraid at the look on his face. "Call a taxi and get out of here."
"But I'm still sick!"
"I don't care. Get out." He walked into his bedroom and gagged as the smell of alcoholic vomit hit him. Mirabelle was right, he should have just called her father, but she had begged him not to. He quickly pulled on clothes and walked back out, grabbing and throwing the bags of her vomit-soaked clothes at her feet. "Go. I have somewhere to be."
He grabbed the envelope Mira had left and opened it. Reading the resignation letter quickly to see what she was putting down as the reason. Resigning due to continued disrespect from other members of the practice and the failure of her immediate supervisor to put a stop to it. He noticed the date and realized she had written it three weeks earlier. He searched his memory for what had happened and remembered he had walked in on Kelly berating her for a mistake in a legal document in the lunchroom in front of the receptionist and other PAs. Mira had let her go off and then calmly stood up and informed her that she was not her assistant and according to the electronic signature, Kelly had typed up the document herself, making the others in the room laugh.
Kelly had lost it and started to yell at her. He had stepped in and asked Mira to apologize to Kelly for her tone, but hadn't said anything to Kelly about her yelling at Mira for her mistake. Mira stared at him and said very clearly. "No." and walked away. He had followed her to the office and she had shut the door and told him she would quit if he ever treated her that way again. He had apologized and begged her to please just keep the peace while he navigated leaving. She reluctantly agreed but reiterated that being treated that way again would result in her resignation.
He shook his head and put his face in his hands. Looking up he saw Kelly sitting at the island watching him. "Get. Out." he growled. "Before I call the cops and have you arrested for trespassing."
"I'm here at your invitation."
"Which has been rescinded. Leave." He looked in the envelope again and saw another piece of paper and pulled it out, frowning as he tried to figure out why she had written him a check. When he realized what it was for, he ripped it up and began to swear. Kelly finally seemed to figure out she was being an idiot and grabbed her things. When he heard the door close, he grabbed his phone and sent Mira a text, demanding to talk to her. He stared in disbelief when it came back undelivered and called the number, only to have a voice tell him the user was busy and hang up. She had blocked him.
Snarling, he grabbed his keys and wallet and slammed out of the condo | LEARN_MORE | https://a.libynovel.com/ad/bGlieS8xNjc0NjkvMjAyNDA | 103784952720276 | LiB001 | https://facebook.com/100092993101023 | 59 | 1 | 923,843,135,911,748 | 2024-05-06 02:00 | person_profile | eligible | 0 | 0 | NONE | 0 | 0 | 1 | 0 | Learn more | 0 | LiB001 | 120209161651790579 | a.libynovel.com | NONE | video | https://a.libynovel.com/ad/bGlieS8xNjc0NjkvMjAyNDA0MjkxNTExMzIvcGFnZQ==?adid={{ad.id}} | 2024-04-29 02:17 | https://scontent-iad3-1.xx.fbcdn.net/v/t39.35426-6/440946464_408973528603345_6132433419002601015_n.jpg?stp=dst-jpg_s60x60&_nc_cat=102&ccb=1-7&_nc_sid=c53f8f&_nc_ohc=NYzRmuB5VgsQ7kNvgGjvL60&_nc_ht=scontent-iad3-1.xx&oh=00_AfCXmejN6ZV1O-fX1X0TKfR4RbjHkomUMzlI85fFCQp7fw&oe=663F56DF | person_profile | 0 | LiB001 | https://scontent-iad3-1.xx.fbcdn.net/v/t39.35426-6/440944005_1167288207783980_8632293679308419701_n.jpg?_nc_cat=101&ccb=1-7&_nc_sid=c53f8f&_nc_ohc=NJ_2Rp8QC6cQ7kNvgGshBsO&_nc_ht=scontent-iad3-1.xx&oh=00_AfBy2bW34yqG9kMH2DkFQccOqWNHFj87CzEZYs_FNKVKOg&oe=663F5D7B | 0 | 3 | LiB001 | 0 | 0 | 2024-05-06 02:00 | View Edit Delete

Let's go. I can hardly wait." | LEARN_MORE | https://www.yumread.com/share/middle/hi4orr0xtkbxs | 119497494574812 | Lereader-Great Novel | https://facebook.com/61550087387871 | 193 | 3 | 699,735,725,509,726 | 2024-05-06 02:00 | person_profile | eligible | 0 | 0 | NONE | 0 | 1 | 0 | 0 | Learn more | 0 | Lereader-Great Novel | 120207936378940449 | www.yumread.com | NONE | video | https://www.yumread.com/share/middle/hi4orr0xtkbxsaqtqgsdgqx3?ad_id={{ad.id}}&sid=120207936371890449&campaign={{campaign.name}}&adgroup={{adset.name}} | 2024-05-06 06:35 | https://scontent-iad3-1.xx.fbcdn.net/v/t39.35426-6/438164387_808135044080782_1624517509889129469_n.jpg?stp=dst-jpg_s60x60&_nc_cat=107&ccb=1-7&_nc_sid=c53f8f&_nc_ohc=quN4iD-Vln8Q7kNvgGBG0eL&_nc_ht=scontent-iad3-1.xx&oh=00_AfBZZkeJ6onoMH_T57X-9wYtuSyKWTTiSdsjX5qtOb2zcw&oe=663F480F | person_profile | 0 | Lereader-Great Novel | https://scontent-iad3-2.xx.fbcdn.net/v/t39.35426-6/438174638_475331228185332_6006589153438562081_n.jpg?_nc_cat=103&ccb=1-7&_nc_sid=c53f8f&_nc_ohc=7u_OeEId80sQ7kNvgGbGqQj&_nc_oc=AdgFxSmNiJrIVlDk52H8lGNX_Vfc3t-jBZejYQmsZ56N3XWU5pWhWPdiNHudIDkxz2I&_nc_ht=scontent-iad3-2.xx&oh=00_AfAHoHGAYqbY1A8qyP4-tGrM3TUwWmuwNOC1yTxE3Nv2iA&oe=663F3837 | 0 | 3 | Lereader-Great Novel | 0 | 0 | 2024-05-06 02:00 | View Edit Delete

🔞🔥Click to Read more about📜Regret's All You Get📜 | 🥵🥵🔞🔞
In the presidential suite of the Winson Hotel in Litharia, a breathtakingly beautiful woman lay in bed.

Let's go. I can hardly wait." | LEARN_MORE | https://www.yumread.com/share/middle/hi4orr0xtkbxs | 119497494574812 | Lereader-Great Novel | https://facebook.com/61550087387871 | 193 | 1 | 819,000,003,411,849 | 2024-05-06 02:00 | person_profile | eligible | 0 | 0 | NONE | 0 | 1 | 0 | 0 | Learn more | 0 | Lereader-Great Novel | 120207936409970449 | yumread.com | NONE | image | In the presidential suite of the Winson Hotel in Litharia, a breathtakingly beautiful woman lay in bed.

Let's go. I can hardly wait." | LEARN_MORE | https://www.yumread.com/share/middle/hi4orr0xtkbxs | 119497494574812 | Lereader-Great Novel | https://facebook.com/61550087387871 | 193 | 2 | 417,786,020,884,022 | 2024-05-06 02:00 | person_profile | eligible | 0 | 0 | NONE | 0 | 1 | 0 | 0 | Learn more | 0 | Lereader-Great Novel | 120207936373430449 | www.yumread.com | NONE | video | https://www.yumread.com/share/middle/hi4orr0xtkbxsaqtqgsdgqx3?ad_id={{ad.id}}&sid=120207936371760449&campaign={{campaign.name}}&adgroup={{adset.name}} | 2024-05-06 06:36 | https://scontent-iad3-1.xx.fbcdn.net/v/t39.35426-6/438252909_1123565265517998_2900801696074400813_n.jpg?stp=dst-jpg_s60x60&_nc_cat=110&ccb=1-7&_nc_sid=c53f8f&_nc_ohc=GkuBK7D3zNkQ7kNvgGgYQbB&_nc_ht=scontent-iad3-1.xx&oh=00_AfBFgIqrSZI9NR21fo7eXcHsCQXfDJkXv-uEAsLT_VUsGw&oe=663F4F89 | person_profile | 0 | Lereader-Great Novel | https://scontent-iad3-2.xx.fbcdn.net/v/t39.35426-6/440892051_457729116636090_1675076758477908114_n.jpg?_nc_cat=105&ccb=1-7&_nc_sid=c53f8f&_nc_ohc=enWxK3GJklAQ7kNvgGmBK4v&_nc_ht=scontent-iad3-2.xx&oh=00_AfARaVwSIMg_lg5OFzSxOM8Irx7ZxiQsvRj4pvj2-ms88g&oe=663F5E0C | 0 | 3 | Lereader-Great Novel | 0 | 0 | 2024-05-06 02:00 | View Edit Delete

Let's go. I can hardly wait." | LEARN_MORE | https://www.yumread.com/share/middle/hi4orr0xtkbxs | 119497494574812 | Lereader-Great Novel | https://facebook.com/61550087387871 | 193 | 1 | 3,621,414,924,839,976 | 2024-05-06 02:00 | person_profile | eligible | 0 | 0 | NONE | 0 | 1 | 0 | 0 | Learn more | 0 | Lereader-Great Novel | 120207936382610449 | www.yumread.com | NONE | video | https://www.yumread.com/share/middle/hi4orr0xtkbxsaqtqgsdgqx3?ad_id={{ad.id}}&sid=120207936371200449&campaign={{campaign.name}}&adgroup={{adset.name}} | 2024-05-06 06:36 | https://scontent-iad3-2.xx.fbcdn.net/v/t39.35426-6/440337684_815357846609503_3803539987307856921_n.jpg?stp=dst-jpg_s60x60&_nc_cat=106&ccb=1-7&_nc_sid=c53f8f&_nc_ohc=Qanx0CbwZGIQ7kNvgElrp2h&_nc_ht=scontent-iad3-2.xx&oh=00_AfB5u-4MBci1Yo5xStHs7A9g_ZBDRAuxj4yhw3EZN8Zjug&oe=663F38CB | person_profile | 0 | Lereader-Great Novel | https://scontent-iad3-2.xx.fbcdn.net/v/t39.35426-6/441212057_1967540353763587_4074329012024408899_n.jpg?_nc_cat=109&ccb=1-7&_nc_sid=c53f8f&_nc_ohc=dviRL0ZHkPEQ7kNvgEKflov&_nc_ht=scontent-iad3-2.xx&oh=00_AfAs3WaGPh5W-Dj31mVCXqIE60JFXvZ99MDRaXY7qHQmmg&oe=663F5EF7 | 0 | 3 | Lereader-Great Novel | 0 | 0 | 2024-05-06 02:00 | View Edit Delete
