Read More Exciting Content👉 | Don't notice me... Don't notice me.
Had he seen me watching Heather? Was he waiting for my reaction?
I felt some sweat began to dampen my hands. Hayden surveyed people like I did; the wolf always kept on eye on the herd. And I might have just mistakenly caught his interest. Panic began to engulf my internal system.
*********
I draw the people I hate at school. I see the masks everywhere, just walking down the halls with their falsified personalities; their projected smiles and charms... even though secretly, behind each other's backs, they're cheating and spreading rumors and destroying the other's social status. And then I see them in the bathrooms, crying and puking up the last of what is already nauseating cafeteria food; because word got around that they gained weight or that they didn't have a perfect body.
And there I sit, watching point blank, as this disturbing and chaotic institute houses all these hormonal schizophrenics, still convincing us all it's a high school and not Asylum. Those fabricated and altered personas around me seem to be never ending. Perhaps directors and movie producers should come here for their casting roles. Our drama club sucks ass, but the fake smiling masks and happy giddy girls that walk arm in arm are the masters of the deceiving world.
Of course I see through all of this, not that it's that hard, because I've been here from start to finish. I've grown up with these persons around; have watched their ever changing evolution of lies. Some harmless, but most nauseating none the less. They all seem so scared to show who they truly are- which is why I draw them exactly as that. I draw you because I can see you...
The noise that surrounded me just increased louder as people tried talking over each other in order to be heard. A dozen voices mixed into the air and only slight random words distinguished themselves against the rumble.
I heard it all, bits and pieces of it, but enough to know what was circulating the school. Most of it was fake; Glenda didn't get a breast augmentation. Her father might be rich and spoil her, but their relationship was becoming strained. Why wouldn't it? He was disturbed that his daughter was becoming replicas of his never ending young and lustrous girlfriends.
And even worse, that his own very friends were looking at his daughter in a whole new light now that she evolved her persona lasciviously.
In reality, her bra was padded with those gelatin balloon enhancers that were sold in the lingerie department. I heard her friends freaking out one day because one ruptured and was leaking thanks to a flying locker, and her left breast shrunk down to a B.
A big difference when the other one's a D.
I shifted my weight to my palm and continued darkening the eyes. Noah barely made the Football team which surprised me. Though he'd been playing football since he was born... he wasn't the smartest. And yet somehow he managed an act of God and passed his history test, letting every coach and fellow player sigh in relief.
My pencil glided over some shapes, darkening the color and making it stand out greater against the white of the paper. My blonde hair cascaded down and lay on the edges of my paper, just out of reach as my pencil glided by. I made a mental note that Marcus had cheated on Kelly again. For the eighth time.
But that was all the little trivial stuff; the mundane stuff that even I felt reluctant to draw. I wanted more; I patiently waited for word again of the fundraising events that always seemed to come up short. Of the faculty sneaking around to the copy-rooms in their attempt to re-code the cheat sheets; always wanting to have the best grades in their class in hopes a promotion was on the horizon.
But what I truly craved- above all else- was the true self of those around me. Not the cheating, not the fake rumors... not the pathetic babble that could be heard in the air.
No, what I wanted was hidden in their actions, subliminal movements and messages that meant so much more. What I wanted was the thing that was never meant to be known. And where rumors and gossip helped fuel the basis of each drawing... it was that dark secret my own eyes deciphered that would cast a replica below in a jumbled mess of graphite lines.
I drew what they never wanted to be seen. I drew the truth of who they were.
A voice was trying to be heard over the noise and I glanced up to see our small little man of a teacher, trying to bring order to the room, despite the fact no one was really listening. My eyes slowly traced back down to my paper again and my hand resumed its work as it sketched new angles and lines.
I heard more noise and my eyes glanced under their lashes to see that Glenda had indeed blessed us with her presence. Of course all word of her breast augmentation stopped, but I knew she didn't mind the attention. The teacher took advantage of the quick stop of chatter and stuttered his voice into existence. "Stu...students... students please..."
Everyone mumbled and groaned as they knew the lesson was about to begin. Glenda made her way towards her friends whom my cynical mind named the catfish gang. I watched those abnormally plumped glossy lips and those soundly blank eyes; all too like my gold fish back home, Sir Brown.
Glenda sat down next to those girls while leaning back a little more than necessary; her breasts seeming to press tighter into her shirt. The atmosphere of the room seemed to change subtlety. I could almost taste the heavy breaths of the males bedside me; I could almost hear the swallowing throats of those lost to her trance.
"Students if you will..."
I gently put down my pencil before closing my sketch book.
My eyes blankly absorbed those departing images; She tried to hide her face which bore no makeup, washed away, as she floated just beneath the water's surface. Her father was calling to her while he cried within his boat, but as he tried to reach into the water to save her, he froze at her distorted image dancing under the liquid's movement. Glenda just looked too much like the lustrous sins he sought in others. He couldn't grasp what felt like an image of his mistress. What happened to his little girl? He couldn't save her from what she choices she had made, from the actions she had done.
Glenda knew this; knew how others saw her, but she couldn't manage to save herself... to change herself. This was the only way to be seen. Overly sexualized was the only way to be noticed. Even if she drowned under the weight of it.
It was her fake bra that was gushing water amongst the school beneath- drowning all the oblivious and idiotic students against its depths. Only the catfish gang seemed to swim and relish in liquid that kept them afloat. Only those girls could thrive within the misery of another.
All the other people had bubbles escaping their lips as the last of the oxygen left their bodies and rose to the surface. The air filled spheres rose through the mess and soon coordinated themselves into thought bubbles; the ending breath becoming what was truly a waste of their last thought.
"Her breasts look so real, she's so lucky,"
There they sunk to the bottom of their own ignorance- shadowed by a disturbed and regretful father.
My eyes curve over one other sole survivor who I draw randomly and regularly because of my relative interest for him. I've come to understand that he never truly gives in to the rumors amiss because he never fits in with anything but his imaginary friends and old star wars figurines.
The page finished folding over the loner kid- the boy who hides himself under the bleachers but yet no one knew who he was; we only saw him at assemblies. But on my paper, he gathers the bodies in a happy glee... new friends, I suppose, for his lonely world where no one ever seems to be alive.
The book lay shut and all reality faded into this fiction before me, and I heard its verses ring aloud as whispers quietly rose; "I wish I was Glenda, god she's got like everything going for her... it's not fair."
I thought about the girl in my notebook who had no false eyelashes or tanned skin to hide behind.
Did I ever mention I drew people for who they truly were? Yes? Then we don't have a problem.
Welcome to my life.
******
The class felt different- like a foreign energy had entered the room and the hairs on my arms and neck rose slightly in response to the movement; for I knew who it was. I swallowed dryly against the immediate disgust I felt whenever I had to share the same air as him. And here I thought he was skipping again.
"You're late Hayden." Mr. Garcias growled from his spot in the corner of the room. My jaw ground a little tighter as I tried to ignore the noises and resume my test.
"Oh, I'm not, Mr. Garcias. Another staff member has issued an excuse for me." The class giggled as the deep voice prodded lightly on tense air. Everyone knew you never talked back to Mr. Garcias. Our teacher was not known for his tolerance or patience. Especially if you wanted your grade to survive.
"There's no excuse! You know the rules for this class, if you miss a test you FAIL the test. The tardy bell rang five minutes ago and I've already passed them out. So guess what? You've failed."
"Again," A dry, sardonic voice mocked, "I have an issued excuse from another staff member."
I could only imagine my teacher twitching at the words and his veins rising to his reddened forehead. I let go of my pencil and I rubbed my temples firmly. There were a couple of gasps and inhales from whatever the class saw before them. And then they all started laughing or chuckling again.
There it was.
That distinct sound of my peer's pathetic minds; the wretched chime of them worshiping the ground that man walked on. And his voice seemed to tumble over my thoughts and break the rhythm of my sanity.
I wanted my escape... I grabbed my sketchbook and flipped it open. I knew Mr. Garcia's would fail me in an instant if he saw this- but he was distracted and my hands craved the paper. An image of an old drawing presented itself, half finished, yet still extensively drawn. My pencil rose against the paper as my pencil lead dragged its point through the white surface. An instant wave of release ran through my veins.
"There's no "issued excuse" unless it's from me! And I'm not giving you anything. You're late. You've failed this test by not showing up when it's your responsibility to be here on time. And you weren't! I don't give a damn what another staff member says!" Our teacher's angry voice shook through the air.
"Aw, is that so. Then I'll turn around and talk with Mr. Graymer again." The class grew silent as he mentioned our vice principal's name, "After all, it was he who excused me."
There was confusion in the wake of Hayden's words. I finally heard Mr. Garcias' voice mumble in the air, trying to understand what he had heard. The insect had been caught in the web. "Mr. Graymer?"
"Yes." The younger male answered, "He saw me helping a teacher today and he personally issued me an excuse for being tardy. But I'll let him know you won't accept it."
"No, no. You're fine!" Mr. Garcias said a little too urgent. Mr. Graymer had already been scrutinizing Mr. Garcias for the amount of complaints he's received for his harsh teaching ethics. I knew this because the front office let that babble slip during one of their gossip huddles. They seemed to have forgotten I was around the corner submitting my form for a graduation gown.
Mr. Garcias began scribbling something onto the papers on his desk, all the while whispers and mirth hummed in the back air. I wondered if any of Hayden's story had even happened. I wondered, if in reality, that same front office gossip had reached his ears as well. He had guessed too easily the one name that could get him out of this test. But, of course, who would ever question the creature before me?
I almost smiled. Hayden would never just randomly help a teacher.
If only they knew... If only they had an inkling of the truth.
Hayden laughed now, and though most people would assume he was living in the moment and having fun... I could hear it.
I could hear his disgust for everyone before him... his hatred and repulsion. He was laughing at them, all of them. But so well masked, so gentle enough... that those smiling faces in his shadow did nothing but laugh along.
If only they knew....
The boy who was loved and admired by everybody.
The monster who secretly hated them all.
But they didn't know. None of them had any idea that their most beloved, popular, and heroic figure watched them all beneath malicious eyes. They didn't know of the other students who had left this school because of him, the coaches and councilors whose careers he had destroyed. They knew none. And so they worshiped him.
That was the difference between Hayden and I; two people deeply aware of the mentality of those around us. I drew those around me, drew their secrets and true selves whenever I got a glimpse of it; though no one would ever see that art. Hayden, on the other hand, lived for chaos, hidden behind a cloak of popularity. He wanted those he despised to burn and he was more than willing to set fire to a stage he helped create.
I tried to focus on the paper below me, but something inside of my hands seemed to tremor slightly. Finally, I glanced up and looked at that man who was the fakest of them all.
Most girls would have swooned at the sight of him. Certainly, anyone meeting him for the first time would have been stunned and left speechless at the sight of him hovering above them; his eyes a steady gaze. Even the other guys of the school still longed to act like him.
He was tall, elegant, had strong features and light brown hair. The sports he partook in left him with small scars and abrasions on his hands and knuckles, but also a predator's body; deceivingly strong and lean. I knew calling him that was far fetched in words, yet I couldn't unsee the hunger behind his eyes. Hunger for chaos, hunger for manipulation, hunger for... something.
But I was the only one who could see that. Hayden wore a well-crafted lie; a sharp illusion set against grinning white teeth and emotionless eyes. We were nothing more than dumb sheep to him; his gaze always watching patiently on the people in front of him. But the hunger was always there. The hatred. If you annoyed this man... he would not hesitate to destroy you.
Maybe if I wasn't so screwed up myself I might have even fallen for his deep laugh- though his eyes never seemed to catch the emotion. But I knew better than that. Steel voided eyes betrayed a wide smile underneath; words spoke something so false that it made me wonder if I really wanted to know what the truth was. | INSTALL_MOBILE_APP | http://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.b | 118383984607212 | Romance Story | https://facebook.com/100093476018792 | 71 | 3 | 917,385,040,076,486 | 2024-04-26 02:00 | person_profile | eligible | 0 | 0 | NONE | 0 | 1 | 1 | 0 | Install now | 0 | Romance Story | 120208635507340604 | play.google.com | NONE | image | Romantic Novels, CEO (billionaire) Novels, Fantasy Novels All in Novelverse. | http://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.benefit.novelverse | 2024-04-26 02:34 | https://scontent-mia3-2.xx.fbcdn.net/v/t39.35426-6/439664712_3565313033782127_9052046467975845442_n.jpg?stp=dst-jpg_s60x60&_nc_cat=105&ccb=1-7&_nc_sid=c53f8f&_nc_ohc=oOwBma-qGFkQ7kNvgFvoqij&_nc_ht=scontent-mia3-2.xx&oh=00_AfC1JfpoE4WRpWKe1df2XWRh25iKqks8Iab9-xU7YQFgUA&oe=66322E7A | person_profile | 0 | Romance Story | https://scontent-mia3-1.xx.fbcdn.net/v/t39.35426-6/440186138_996318458867613_2040994839281098606_n.jpg?_nc_cat=104&ccb=1-7&_nc_sid=c53f8f&_nc_ohc=ApH_Fh2-nW4Q7kNvgHUFGNe&_nc_ht=scontent-mia3-1.xx&oh=00_AfBzZBFvBHtNZDyGPLfR-NMdAV4ARgeeEFkEqgh8RLEA8g&oe=6631FBA6 | 0 | 3 | Romance Story | 0 | 0 | 2024-04-26 02:00 | View Edit Delete | |||||||||||||||||||

One
THE LONG GOODBYE
It was a cold fall day in Chicago. The leaves had long since changed colors. They were a vibrant yellow, red and orange in color. They hadn’t fallen completely from the trees yet. Many were barely hanging on despite the aggressive Chicago fall wind. The streets were wet and slippery. Cars slid beyond the white strips at stop signs. Cyclists that had no other means of transportation to get through the hood were also sliding through intersections. The only thing accenting the activities of the evening were the street lights every 20 feet or so.
The street lights showed light on hand to hand exchanges, the dope fiends wandering the streets like the walking dead, and old folks trying to get home with their groceries without being robbed at gunpoint.
Heroin addicted prostitutes seemed impervious to the cold as they were out in short shorts, short skirts, and crop tops. They were looking at cars as they passed by with their tongues out as if to say this service is for sale. The addicted women that were all beautiful once upon a time in their own right, looked like shadow creatures and former shells of themselves. They were ashen in color, rail thin, and they looked as if they were simply…existing.
The corner boys were cold while working their street hustle. They still served product, but they were underdressed and way too flashy. They practically had bulls-eyes on their backs with the “look at me” gear they had on.
They each looked good in their designer clothes. They wore gaudy diamond and platinum chains, and sleeveless winter vests. They looked good, but they were still cold. You would wonder who was it they were trying to impress. These young men would rather look a certain way than be practical.
A light rain started again. The drops of water were stinging the people below the unseen clouds like a bunch of small needles falling from the sky; each drop seemingly embedding themselves in flesh.
It was the type of cold weather and rain that made you cold through the skin and down in your bones with the wind chill factor.
It was a typical fall night in the city of Chicago—depending on which side of town you resided. The city may have been sleep, but the children of the night were in full swing.
The extended black suburban limousine was riding from the far north side to the south side. It was a smooth ride. Soft Jazz played in the background and there was a mini bar inside.
The windows were tinted on the outside and clear on the inside. This was a security measure. Normally the men inside would be traveling in a custom bulletproof vehicle, but there was no need tonight; not to mention the men had enough ammunition and fire power to fight off a small village.
They knew they would be safe. No one knew where they were going that didn’t need to know. Where they were going there would be no strangers. No one would be there except by strict invitation.
Plus, Chicago was cold.
There was less crime in Chicago when it’s cold outside.
The noises of the city were unheard inside the vehicle because of the music and the comfort that the limo provided. The Jazz faded out and soon after, Outlawz by Rick Ross and Jasmine Sullivan played overhead. The music wasn’t up loud. It played like the background song of an urban drama unfolding.
The vehicle housed six men. There was the driver who was heavily armed, the bodyguard in the front seat, two former military vets in the second row of seats, and the two bosses in the back. One man was older. He was 50 years old with salt and pepper hair in his beard and a faded haircut. Tonight his hair and beard were dyed dark brown. He was a clean cut man that was brown in complexion. He was dressed in a black tuxedo, red tie, black shoes and a Cartier watch worth over 14K. He wore a single diamond earring worth about the same.
His outfit was simple but at the same time classy.
John Carter had a lot on his mind. Tonight was his last night as a free man. This time tomorrow evening he would be checking in the MCC; The Metropolitan Correctional Center.
He was going to jail and this evening he would be celebrated by his friends and family—a Black Cartel.
Chicago (MCC Chicago) is a United States federal prison in Chicago, Illinois, which holds male and female prisoners of all security levels prior to and during court proceedings in the Northern District of Illinois.
It’s operated by the Federal Bureau of Prisons.
The MCC is one of the same prisons that housed the Native Chicagoan, R. Kelly.
Kelly was housed in the Metropolitan Correctional Center in downtown Chicago following an extended stay in a New York detention center during his racketeering and sex trafficking trial. Kelly was sentenced to 30 years in prison after being found guilty in New York.
John Carter was going away for at least a ten-year stint. His crime? Tax evasion; the same crime they captured Al Capone for. Like Al Capone, the feds arrested John on taxes because everything else he did was air tight. Capone was convicted of five counts of tax evasion in 1931. He was convicted and sentenced to eleven years in federal prison. Capone oversaw hundreds of brothels, speakeasies, and roadhouses which served as venues for gang-administered gambling, prostitution, and illegal alcohol sales.
John Carter oversaw the entire south side of Chicago.
He had so many businesses, that he couldn’t tell anyone a detailed list of all the businesses he was involved in. Of course he had accountants—legal ones. One of them made a mistake, and for that mistake, John was to be jailed.
It was the only thing the government could pin on him.
His accountant was rumored to have committed suicide upon discovering the error.
The Chicago Police believe that John ordered a hit on him. That one mistake, that one numerical error, was about to cost John ten years of his life. This was ten years away from overseeing business, ten years of unseen marriages, witnessing the births of grandkids, and ten years of being in a cage.
Everything in his being told him this shit wasn’t right.
He had been so careful over the last 30+ years. To be caught on a technicality just seemed wrong.
“You okay boss? You’re quieter than usual.” A deep voice said.
“I’m good Dame. I’m just lost in thought. I’m just…reflecting, that’s all.” John’s voice was even deeper.
Damian Jordan, AKA Dame, was John’s right hand man. Dame was thirty years of age, fit, a college grad, and also from the hood. He was a milk chocolate brother that stood six feet three inches tall with wavy hair. He was only 30, but he was mature beyond his years. Dame was always thinking, always learning, and always preparing for war while striving for peace.
John recruited Dame at an early age. John paid for Dame’s schooling at Northwestern University. John also gave Dame his first gun, his first kilo, and supervised Dame’s first kill.
They had a father-son relationship.
Dame was the son that John wanted.
John had a son—Elijah. Elijah knew the business, but Dame lived the business. Dame and Elijah were polar opposites. One flashy—Elijah, one low key—Dame. One was about having the best of everything and showing it off—Elijah, whereas Dame just went with the flow whatever that was. Dame could blend in. Elijah, always had to be seen.
Dame also had the kind of relationship with John where he knew what his father from the streets was thinking. It was Dame’s job to anticipate John’s needs, and in certain situations react based on John’s vibe or body language. It was a bond that took a long time to develop between the two men.
Dame put his hand on John’s shoulder.
“We’ll get you out of there. I promise you. I’ve already talked to about four Jewish attorneys that I trust. They said it might take a little time, but they seemed confident they could get you out.”
“I’m not worried about the time Dame. I’m worried about the family, the business and everything that I built over the past three decades.”
“Everything will still be here when you get out. You know we got this, right?” Dame said.
“You have the business and distribution on lock, yeah. I’m worried about who will come for you once I’m inside. Our allies and our enemies will come for what we have if they think I’m no longer at the head of the table.”
“You’ll always be at the head of the table. You call the shots and I’ll execute. You’re Phil Jackson and I’m MJ. If anyone gets in our way, I’ll handle that too.”
John held his finger up and Dame stopped speaking. He then pointed his finger at Dame.
“No…you will hold down the business and act the way you think I would act. I don’t just need you to be my eyes and ears, I need you to be me while I’m inside. If there is a problem no matter how big or how small, you call Maurice, you hear?”
Dame looked slightly disappointed, but shook his head in agreement. Dame was many things. He was a man, a killer and a thinker. Most of all, Dame was loyal to a fault.
“Yeah boss, I hear you.”
“Good man.” John said reassuringly while tapping him on his shoulder.
Maurice Harris, AKA Smoke, was the hitter in the family. He was former military. He stood five feet eleven inches tall and was built like Fred Taylor, the former Jacksonville pro running back. The streets called Maurice Smoke, because of the way he easily blended in or disappeared after a hit. Smoke was so smooth and calculating in his movements, that at times, after a hit, no one ever knew he was there.
“I need you sitting at the right side of Elijah. I need you to also be his eyes, ears and his counsel. I also need you next to Johnetta, my baby girl. You’re going to be my son-in-law soon. Remember that.”
“Yeah…about that, boss are you sure about this arranged marriage?”
“I am. She’s a beautiful girl—a smart girl. Plus, I make beautiful babies.”
“She’s stunning. I’ll give you that.”
John reached into the mini bar and pulled out a small bottle of water and downed it before speaking. The alcohol was in the car for guests. Johns seldom drank. He was always thinking. He was always in command—always in control. He continued speaking.
“She likes you. I see the way that she looks at you. She finds you attractive and she probably thinks you are a lot like her old man. She’s always had a thing for you.”
“I appreciate that. And she’s a beautiful girl but…”
“…But what?”
“Well, for starters…and I don’t even know how to say this…”
“…Spit it out. We’ve always shot straight with one another. Now more than ever, we need to maintain that. Now that we are about to be family, things like that shouldn’t change.”
“Okay, boss I’m 30. I’m still young. I’m not sure I can be tied down to just one woman.”
“Okay, and?”
“And, if I step out on the marriage…”
“…If you step out on the marriage you do it with a discreet woman and put her up in an apartment across town. If she looks like she is going to open her mouth, you eliminate her. And I don’t mean a break up, ya hear? Besides, I’m pretty sure my daughter isn’t expecting fidelity, at least not right away. My baby girl is many things, but she’s not stupid. She knows the game. Just make sure you respect her.”
“So, you’re saying you’re good with my stepping out?”
John raised a finger again as he spoke.
“What I’m saying is respect her. Don’t throw anything in her face—ever. But get to know her. You just might find that she’s the one for you. Your primary job is to protect her. I have little doubt that you will fall in love with her.”
“Got it. What about Elijah? He’ll just be sitting at the head of the table, but he knows he’s just a figurehead, right?”
“If he doesn’t he will. I have no doubt that my son may want the throne, so to speak. But I’m in charge. I’ll be running everything from inside, and I expect to talk with you weekly.”
“That won’t be a problem.”
“Good.”
John looked out the window and thought about the many different scenarios that lie ahead. He wondered how his accountant Bernstein could miss this shit. He hated the fact that he was caught. He knew being caught meant that his enemies and his allies would be coming for his spot and coming for his family.
Nothing Even Matters by Lauryn Hill played. He looked out the window and wondered what the next few years had in store for him. While he was quietly brooding, Dame sat at the passenger side window looking out at the Chicago streets.
Dame was also quietly reflecting.
For Dame, he was losing a father figure. Sure he would see John weekly, but it would be different seeing his mentor behind glass. He had friends in the penitentiary. He had friends in MCC. Seeing John there was something that he never dreamed he would see in a thousand years. Upon finding out that John would be sentenced to the MCC, Dame had men in the Academy ready to join the ranks of the MCC to protect John if need be.
The truck came to a stop at 52nd and Ashland Avenue. To Dame’s right was an old abandoned Amoco gas station. A young African American girl that looked to be about thirteen walked timidly up to the tinted-out truck. She fearfully kept looking back at a man in the shadows that was most likely her pimp. It was clear she was cold. It was also clear that she had a job to do.
The light turned green and the truck slowly began to pull off.
“Hold the truck.” Dame said.
The truck stopped moving despite other cars being behind them. Some drivers honked their horns and when it was clear the suburban wasn’t moving, they were forced to drive around. The young girl seeing this, slowly crept to the truck. She was trying her best to see inside. What she didn’t know is on the other side she was face to face with Dame, a boss and a killer.
Dame didn’t immediately roll down the window. He examined the young lady’s face. He searched for what was left of her innocence. At thirteen she was just beginning to develop. That meant she was sexually active. She looked like a young version of the young actress Zendaya. She wasn’t addicted to anything—yet. She was simply out here cold and fearful of her pimp.
Dame rolled down the window.
“Hey Daddy, you wanna date?” She said nervously.
“How old are you?”
Dame spoke plainly and tried not to frown and show his distaste for the situation.
“Thirteen.”
“How long have you been doing this?”
“M…Maybe a year.”
She seemed worried that Dame might hurt her. He could sense her fear and apprehension. Dame was a hard man with a soft heart, but you couldn’t see that looking at him.
“I’m not going to hurt you princess. Relax. Let me ask you something. What’s your cost?”
“$25 for a hand job, $45 for a blowjob and $65 for sex.”
An overwhelming silence overtook the truck. Everyone in the truck seemed upset that this young girl was being taken advantage of and forced into the world’s oldest profession.
“I’ll be back.” Dame said.
“I can lower the prices if I need to! I just have to ask...You know, my friend.”
“The price isn’t the problem. Stay here. I’ll be back.”
That’s all Dame said. He closed the window. He told the driver to take off. He let out a heavy sigh as if he was disgusted with the world.
Thirteen, he thought to himself.
John gave a half smile. Part of that smile was pride. He knew Dame had a good heart. He knew Dame wouldn’t hesitate to take a life, but he also wouldn’t hesitate to save one. It was double edge sword that kept dame conflicted daily.
“You can’t save everyone” He said.
“No…but I can save that one.”
“The business we’re in is no better.”
“Maybe not. But we have an end game. Plus, our business is not that business.”
“Agreed, but once I’m inside, you can’t always go on one of your personal crusades. You’ll have more important things to attend to.”
“Understood.”
The men continued to ride in the car listening from everything from Phil Collins to R & B, to the band Foreigner. When I Want to Know What Love Is came on, it seemed like all six men were in reflection.
John had been a pivotal person in each of their lives.
For each one of them, John pulled them out of poverty, abuse, and addiction. He showed each of them how to be men. They all bonded as both men and brothers. They would have all died for one another if need be. They would have taken on the hordes of hell for John.
And now their father figure was leaving them.
It was a long quiet ride other than the music.
Twenty minutes later they were on the far south side in a private club—Club Reflection. It was a club that John owned but seldom visited. It was one of many businesses that he wanted to leave to his daughter.
Club Reflection’s bottom floor was for fine dining. The Chef, a Creole girl named Tacadia was the head chef. Tacadia grew up in Englewood and grew up poor. She was another kid in a long line of lives he touched.
Back in the day it was just her and her mother Tasha. Tasha, who tried to be the best mother she could, made very poor choices in men. Many of these men looked at Tacadia as if she were a grown woman. These were looks that made Tacadia uncomfortable. She knew it would be just a matter of time before one of her mother’s boyfriends or one of their friends, took the one thing from a girl or woman that should only be offered but never taken.
Tacadia grew up with Elijah—John’s son. They went to public school together and later public high school. John’s kids could have gone to the best schools, but he wanted them to know what public school was like and know the struggles of middle and lower income families.
In John’s eyes, this was a different level of education.
Tacadia confided in the 12-year-old Elijah at that time, what was going on. At the time they were best friends. This bothered Elijah who knew that his father was a powerful man, he just wasn’t sure how. Elijah plead with his father to intervene. Instead, John said nothing. He listened to his son and stated only that he would think about getting involved.
One day while Tasha was laid up with a loser named Frank Whitehead, John put together a small hit squad in to abduct the man. Late that night while Elijah was sleeping, he opened his son’s door.
“Get up. Today you’re riding with me.”
“What time is it?” He son said with sleep in his eyes.
“It’s time for you to get up as I just said.”
It was about 12:30 in the morning. John had Elijah ride with him to Tacadia’s home. It was a long silent ride from their elaborate house to the slums of Englewood. No one said a word, but young Elijah could feel the vibrations of intensity within the silence.
Elijah would see what his father was about for the first time. John was accompanied by several of his closest men. They got out of the car with semi-automatic weapons. They were all dressed in black except for John who was in a suit and gloves. The pulled up in front of the Greystone where Tasha and Tacadia lived and walked up the stairs after opening the raggedy front gate.
They kicked in the door announcing their presence. The men ran upstairs immediately to the bedroom with guns drawn. Elijah’s eyes got wide. His father took him by the arm and spoke.
“Go be with your friend. Stay in the room with her until I call for you.”
“Yes sir.”
Elijah was sent to Tacadia’s room to comfort his friend. They were not to come out of the room without permission. Elijah knew to do whatever his father asked of him to the letter.
John and the men walked into the room where Tasha was with her lover. Frank tried to get out of the bed naked, but was immediately hit with a right cross.
Frank tried to fight. He was hit with another right cross by a very young Maurice, AKA Smoke. That punch made Frank go immediately limp. Smoke looked at the first man as if to say, that’s how it’s done. They took Frank out of the bed butt naked and zip tied his hands and legs. As his men took Frank out of the apartment that Tacadia and her mother lived in, John sat down across from the bed where Tasha still lay naked.
Tasha was a good-looking coffee colored woman with sandy brown hair, curvy hips, a nice round bottom and perky breasts. She was naked in the bed and her nipples were firm and showing. She immediately tried to cover up when she realized she was exposed and her nipples were firm.
John wasn’t moved by her looks. Plus, he wasn’t there for that.
“You have bad taste in men.” He said plainly.
“What business is it of yours?” Tasha stated defiantly.
John extended his gloved hand where one of his men handed him a gun with a silencer.
“You have two choices; change your taste in men and be selective of who you bring around your daughter, or die here where you lay and I’ll adopt her myself and raise her. Do you know who I am?”
Tasha shook her head yes.
“Tell me exactly who I am.”
“John Carter. The streets say you run shit.”
“Then why test me?”
“I assumed if you were coming in here making demands regarding me and my child that meant maybe you were going to pay me.”
“Pay you? To be a parent to your child?”
“I’ve heard you’ve done things like that before.”
“Not this time. So you heard what I said, right?”
“Yes.”
“Then make a decision.”
“I…I’ll do better. I promise.”
“Okay then.”
John got up to leave.
“You…you’re confident that I won’t call the police. Why would the head of a cartel come to an apartment when you could have just sent your thugs?”
John sighed. He went back and sat down again.
“For starters, we are not a Cartel. We’re a family. Yes, I could have sent my men. But this was important to me. It was important to me because it was important to my son. That being the case, I felt the need to come in person. I needed you to know how real this is. Now…if you call the police, I’ll go to jail, for about an hour. While I’m in jail, any one of my men will kill you. And guess what my alibi will be? I was in jail. You’ll still be dead, and I’ll still raise your daughter. You’re a nice-looking woman. Have some self-respect. Stop choosing these losers. Know your worth. You know, black women choose the wrong men for the right reasons. I respect that sometimes. Six out of every ten black women are either in bad relationships, share a man, or are celibate. And the problem is not the women themselves, but the bad choices they keep making. You all make choices off of potential, and you listen to your hearts. Instead…try listening to your head, fuck potential…and stop looking at a man for what he can do for you and look at what’s in his heart. I’m not going to have a second conversation with you about this. Tonight is a second chance at life for you and your daughter. As far as the police…do as you wish. I’ve said my piece.”
John and his men left.
Eight days later, Frank was found face down in the pond miles away in Humbolt Park; a Hispanic neighborhood. According to the coroner, he’d been tortured for about four hours before he died.
The final cause of death? Drowning.
Tacadia and Elijah remained friends. Tasha made better choices in men. Years later, she even married one. He was a garbage man with great benefits that kept his body in good shape, and he was a father figure to Tacadia.
John watched from a distance, but he watched.
When it came time for Elijah to go to school, he went to Howard. Tacadia wanted to be a chef. She went to one of the best cooking schools in the country. John paid for her education and wouldn’t take no for an answer.
Top chefs make about $60,000 a year. After finishing school, John paid Tacadia $78,000 to be his Chef at Club Reflection. She has been there since. She was preparing all the foods for tonight’s party. The club was closed to the public.
Club reflection opened up with the warmth of intimately-lit dim lights. There were designer brick walls and lavish couches to make the patron’s overall experience luxurious. The club is famous for being exclusive with a $100 cover charge, top shelf drinks, and fine dining.
The nightclub which was soundproof and on the second and third floors, had a prestigious combination of dancing and a very prestigious lounge experience along with the delivery of live performances every week.
With live performances, there were always famous DJs spinning the latest club or not yet released hits, which were always the sensation of the evening. The nightclub was famous for offering a delectable range of some of the best cuisines and delicacies from all parts of the world. The entire concept was Tacadia’s idea. She even imported exotic drinks and cocktails to make every customer’s night memorable for a lifetime. The second and third floors sported a 4000 square foot space; each space well thought out for its use.
John walked in and there was a sea of people yelling “surprise” as he entered. Of course it wasn’t a surprise. John didn’t believe in surprises. He acted as if he was however.
John’s wife, Kelly was there. She was a bi-racial woman with the best of both worlds. She looked like a cross between Cardi-B and a Kardashian. Kelly was 48, but she could pass for 30. She had an hourglass figure, bone straight hair, a wonderful smile, and an even better mind. Kelly was also educated as a licensed clinical social worker.
She had a clinical background but it wasn’t for use in anyone’s practice. Though she wasn’t in the business, when John met rivals, new partners or met with the D.A. who was constantly making threats with micro-aggressions, Kelly would profile anyone her husband pointed out. She was not just his partner in love, she was his partner in life.
She was just as smart as she was beautiful. He was met with a warm kiss by his wife and a hug by his daughter, Johnetta.
Johnetta was a younger version of her mother at 24 years of age. She too had an education. She had a bachelor’s in business. She was also at the gun range bi-weekly at the insistence of her father. Also like her father, she stayed in the gym. She read a lot of books, periodicals and business books.
John was of course flanked by Smoke and Dame. The three men were dressed alike. Elijah who was already at the function was dressed similar, but with a white tie and a white rose attached to his lapel.
Elijah was a handsome man at 26 years of age. His rugged looks rivaled that of his father, but Elijah it seems, always had to be different since growing up. He always had to put his spin on things, even with the attire of the party. It was these small changes that worried John.
If he can’t keep small things simple, how is he going to handle the bigger ones? John thought. John shook his head with disapproval and approach his son.
“The ties were to be maroon in color.” John said.
“I know Dad. White suits me better.”
“Tonight is about uniformity and unity, not what suits you.”
“Dad, it’s just a small change. You have to admit the white looks better on me.”
“Small changes can lead to huge mistakes.”
“Dad why do we always have to do this?”
“Because there are some things that you need to learn. Small details can sometimes be very important. I once knew a man that stole five cents from every account that a major bank had. That’s five cents, globally. He did this for more than twenty years. His wife somehow found out that was how he amassed his wealth. She convinced him to go from five cents to ten cents. The second he took a dime out instead of that nickel, the system flagged it. He’s doing 30 years in federal prison right now.”
“Dad, you’re talking about me deviating from a color of a tie.”
“No…I’m talking about life. In our business, everything…everything must be precise.”
“Dad…you need to embrace change.”
“I don’t have an issue with change. I have an issue with changes that cost us money and more importantly, time.”
“I hear you.”
“Do you?”
His father gave him a look that told Elijah that he was about to be lectured for more than an hour. This sadly was how their relationship was not that he was an adult.
“Dad…can we table this for later?”
“No. Tomorrow I’ll be at the MCC remember? Elijah, I love you son. I know you want to make your own way, but while handling my business, I need things done my way—no deviations of any kind. I need you to stick to what works.”
“Okay dad.”
He said the words, but John knew his son was blowing him off. John was just about to have harsh words with his son when Johnetta came up behind him and hugged him.
“Dad, I need some time with you.”
John looked at his son and decided this was a conversation that would have to wait until later; or until Elijah was behind bars with John.
“Okay baby girl, let’s go somewhere and talk.”
Just as they were about to walk off, Dame walked up to John and Johnetta. He looked at Johnetta who blushed a bit. The two locked eyes on one another. It was clear there was definitely something there. That something had never been explored. Yet in the weeks to come, they were scheduled to be married.
“I gotta make a run really quick. I need to go deal with that thing.” Dame said.
“Okay. Go and come right back.”
“You got it boss.”
Dame grabbed a few containers of food from the kitchen, a few bottles of water, someone’s mink coat that was on a coat stand, and he left. He motioned for the driver to go get the suburban. | MESSAGE_PAGE | 285540711311659 | Chicago Author, Darrin Lowery -Doc Lowery | https://facebook.com/61559085231600 | 6 | 1 | 785,693,943,656,231 | 2024-04-26 02:00 | person_profile | eligible | 0 | 0 | NONE | 0 | 0 | 1 | 0 | Send message | 0 | Chicago Author, Darrin Lowery -Doc Lowery | 6583092188697 | NONE | image | {"type":"VISUAL_EDITOR","version":2,"landing_screen_type":"welcome_message","media_type":"text","text_format":{"customer_action_type":"ice_breakers","message":{"ice_breakers":[{"title":"I'm interested. Because once I enter your body you'll officially belong to me. Chapter 1 Accidentally Provoking The Cold And Distant CEO Up in the sky. An aircraft glided over layers of puffy clouds, and soared in the azure sky. In half an hour, Zoe Ball will return to Gallino, the city where she had lived for twenty-two years. She didn't inform anyone about her return. She didn’t want to bother her family to make them rush to pick her up in the middle of the night. What’s more, she wanted to surprise Darius Saunders. Darius was her boyfriend, and tomorrow was his birthday. After staying for five years in love, and three years in a long distance relationship, Zoe counted, their relationship had been on for eight years. Suddenly, the plane jolted violently, followed by an ear piercing explosion. The items on the table scattered and rolled to the floor, making the passengers on board scream out in panic. [What's going on?] [What wrong with the plane?] [Did it hit something?] Not waiting for them to calm down, there were a few more piercing noises that were heard. Several large holes were blown out on the plane, with flames blazing brightly. The wind was blowing in, and the passengers screamed unceasingly. [Oh my God, what's going on?] [Did something happen to the plane?] [OMG, I never want to travel by plane again.] [God bless!] [Daddy, I'm scared.] The entire cabin was in chaos. Paper flew, luggage dumped on the ground, with an endless sound of things falling and people panicking. Zoe was stunned. Was there anything indeed going wrong? She had experienced a lot, but at this time, her heart still swept through a trace of panic. Because she was worried about not seeing Darius. "Passengers on board, please pay attention. Due to external factors, this aircraft is out of control. Please put on your parachute and escape at the designated escape port. This aircraft will crash in ten minutes, so all passengers don’t panic and maintain order…" The captain announced. The in-flight broadcast repeated those words, and Zoe thought that she was really screwed this time. According to the authoritative data, there had only been one air crash in 1.2 million flights, so she never thought that the probability of that would happen on her flight. Many passengers who had unfastened their seat belts rolled from side to side due to the turbulence. Uncontrollable screams rang from them, filling the entire flight. The plane reeled in every direction, and flew chaotically in the air for about two minutes. Some of the passengers even cried out as they couldn't take it anymore! Zoe thought that she couldn't just sit around and do nothing, waiting for herself to di&e. Ordinary passenger aircrafts were not usually equipped with escape tools, but this luxury aircraft Zoe traveled in was different. Before boarding the plane, Zoe had watched the crew practice parachute-donning methods, and the promotional video also introduced it. At this point, she put on the parachute quickly without panic. Then, she walked to the escape port, ready to leap off. The wind howled and her thin body swayed. Zoe had been afraid of heights since her childhood, but at this moment, she knew that if she didn’t jump, she won't have a chance to meet Darius again. Just then, someone pulled her slender wrist, and the shadow of a tall figure covered her. Before Zoe could react, the man's glittering eyes were staring at her. "Sir, what do you want to do?" Zoe asked. Zoe didn't expect to be accosted by a stranger in the nick of time. Although she was naturally beautiful and there were countless men pursuing her, at that critical moment, wasn't it more important to escape? "I need to share a parachute with you." The man's voice sounded dulcet. Zoe had never heard such a unique and handsome voice in her life. Even though she grew up in the upper class, and had met many men with handsome voices, she had heard that kind of chilly, low, and magnetic voice for the first time. Chapter 2 He Suddenly Kissed Her The man had deep eyes, a tall nose, thin lips, and angular jawline. Apart from his voice, his appearance was eye-catching. Although Zoe grew up elegant and beautiful, her boyfriend, Darius, was also outstandingly handsome. It was the first time she had ever seen such an unparalleled handsomeness in her life. The man's strong aura engulfed her, instantly making the air around thinner. Zoe did not know how to respond at this moment. Sharing a parachute with him was certainly playing a joke on life! But without waiting for her to refuse, the man had already leaned over, and his voice carried a compelling magnetism. "Excuse me," he said. Before she could react, the man had already unbuckled her seat belt and put the parachute on himself. Who did he think he was? Did he think he could do whatever he wanted just because he's good-looking? Every seat was equipped with a parachute, so why did he have to use hers? "Sir..." Zoe muttered. Just as Zoe was about to argue with him, the man suddenly kissed her on her lips, and his tall figure pressed her to the hatch in a rapt kiss. After eight years with Darius, Zoe had yet to give him her first kiss. But the man in front of her, whom she had met the first time, had inexplicably snatched it in advance. The alluring scent of his body oozed. It was fresh, light, reminiscent of the freezing breeze in winter. Despite stinging cold, it had a refreshing effect on the brain. Zoe was stunned for a while before she realized that he was kissing her. Even if he was outstanding, he couldn't do such a thing to her in a public place! Zoe was furious and was about to raise her hand and slap him on his face, when several tall men approached. They were sweeping around a few times and discussing in a low voice… [He's not here.] [Without a parachute, he must not dare to jump off rashly, not to mention that he is seriously injured.] [He must be hiding in the crowd, let's keep looking!] Seeing them search for a while and leaving in a rage, Zoe felt a little panic. Obviously, they were not good people. “Wasn’t it more important to escape and save themselves at that moment?”she thought to herself. At that point, another group of women came over. Each of them were dressed ably and looked strictly meticulous, reminiscent of female secret agents in the movies. Zoe noticed that they put one hand in their clothes and the other hand pressing on the outside. Looking at that posture, she couldn’t help but wonder if there was a gun. Zoe was stunned. Suddenly, they ruthlessly gazed at her, as if they were using a laser, sweeping straight towards her. Zoe was shocked. Damn it, was she being targeted? One of the women glanced at her, then at the back of the man who was kissing her. The woman’s eyes no longer lingered on them as she continued to look for other targets. For them, they were a couple facing the prospect of parting forever, making a final kiss before jumping out of the plane, and were posing no threat to them. The man's back was blocked by the parachute, just enough to conceal his figure. [He should be hiding somewhere else.] [If we miss again this time, the boss will never let us go.] [Looks like we'll have to step up and not let Napoli's people find him first.] [Let's go!] Zoe listened to their conversation and couldn't help but think that the passengers on the plane were too weird. The group of mafia-like men were looking for someone. Those "female agents" were also looking for something, and that indiscriminate man in front of her was taking advantage of her. Damn it! To think that the man was still kissing her, Zoe folded her knee and kicked the man hard. Chapter 3 Parachute Jumping In Each Other's Arms However, as if he had expected what she was going to do, the man reached out and blocked her attack. The man had done too much. Zoe was so angry that she reached out and tried to push him away, not expecting him to hold her hands. He pressed against the hatch with her fingers clasped together in his. Zoe's eyes were full of protest. “Who are you? Get off me! It's about to crash! Do you hear me?” Once again, the man pressed her hard against the hatch and kissed her with more force and passion. One of the "female agents" who had just turned to leave, suddenly stood still and looked back at Zoe. "Boss, what's wrong?" Another agent asked her. "We don't have much time, those Napoli's-like people are close to finding him. We need to get out of here," the other agent added. "What are you looking at?" she asked. Most of the agents followed their boss' gaze which were directed toward Zoe. That was when Zoe realized that those women’s eyes were not on her. Rather, it was more directed at the man who was kissing her. She must have made too many movements and attracted their attention. While all that was going on, their "boss" had already taken out a pistol from her coat, and started pulling the trigger. The man had a sensitive hearing, and just as he heard the sound of the trigger, he threw a guest blanket at them with his backhand. A few of the women’s sights were blocked by the blanket, and by the time they were done setting it aside, the man had already leapt down with Zoe in his arms. He was so fast that they staggered! The parachute blossomed in the air, and they floated in the air at once, pulled away a modest distance from the plane. [Boss, it's him! He got away!] [Shoot him!] The sound of thumping g0n&&fire echoed in the air. The parachute floated farther and farther, so the bullets were useless. The woman called as the boss reluctantly ordered, "After them." Several people quickly put on their parachutes and leaped down. Zoe could not have imagined that she would somehow be involved in that kind of chaos. Who was that man in front of her and why was he being hunted by different gangs? Holding the man's neck in an extremely tight grip, Zoe almost hung her entire body on him. The group of fierce men, and the meticulous "female agents"... Why were they after that man? What exactly was his identity? Zoe understood that she was in big trouble. Just as she wanted to question the man, she saw that his eyes gradually closed, the hand holding her waist weakly loosened, and he passed out. "Hey! Don't sleep… wake up." Zoe said urgently. She was scared to death and hugged him even tighter. They were in the mid-air. Her life would be in danger if she didn’t hold on. "Are you passed out? Our parachute seems broken." Zoe said. Those sho&ts earlier seemed to have broken her parachute. The man was unconscious and couldn't hear her. Zoe looked up and saw a few holes on the parachute as they were rapidly descending. "Oh my God! Oh my God, I'm not going to fall off here, right?” Zoe prayed. Below them was the vast sea. Zoe wished the parachute could hold on a little longer. She did not want to di&e so soon, nor di&e in such a desolate place, and a ridiculous way. That was not what she wanted. However, the parachute was sparsely descending at a very fast speed. In her 25 years of life, Zoe had never found herself so unlucky! Everything that happened to her today made everything worse for her. Without much time for her to think, they both fell heavily into the sea with a thud, and made a huge splash. Chapter 4 Saved His Life The seawater was salty, fishy, and bitter. Zoe was caught in a few mouthfuls without any preparation. She quickly floated up and gasped for breath. Luckily, she could swim, otherwise she would have di&ed there! After splashing on the sea surface for a few times, Zoe finally calmed down and looked at the vast sea. A large area of blood had diffused on the sea, as if someone had spilled a red dye, filling the sea with waves of shocking red. What's going on? Where did so much blood come from? Zoe looked around but couldn't find the man. Then she suddenly realized that the group of people earlier said that he was injured. Could that be blood from him? It seemed that he was badly injured. Zoe hesitated whether to save him. He was not an ordinary man, and she didn’t know when that group of people would catch up. If she intervened in that matter, she would certainly get into big trouble ... But if she would not save him, he would definitely sink into the sea and drow%n. Two thoughts were conflicting inside her mind. Zoe had a difficult choice to make. She started to think of her grandfather. Her grandfather had a heart attack when he was walking in the park many years ago, and at that time no one dared to come forward to help him. That incident caused him to miss the best time for treatment. Her grandfather usually went out with entourage, but that day, his entourage were waiting outside the park, no one knew he suddenly collapsed, and it was too late when he was discovered. Zoe thought of that and closed her eyes in pain. She knew that she had to save him! Since it was happening in front of her, she couldn't let him die! Diving into the sea, Zoe quickly found his direction in the water, although she was not a strong swimmer, but the physical training she received as a child allowed her to quickly overcome all difficulties to swim towards him. She struggled to pick him up. Zoe was almost overwhelmed by the heavy man. Finally she used all her strength to drag him onto shore. She did not know where the place was, but from the fishing nets hung by the residents, it should be a fishing village. The chimneys of every household were emitting white gas not for away. The smell of rice wafted into her nose, and Zoe's stomach growled spontaneously. She quickly found one of the homes, which was the closest and the fastest to arrive, and she decided to go to that family for help. "I'll be back for you soon." Zoe placed the man on the ground and, regardless of whether he heard her or not, ran alone toward the house and knocked on the door. "Is anyone there, please? I need help! Hello, is anyone there, please open the door." It didn't take long for the small door to creak open, revealing a kind face and a woman slightly taken aback, "You are?" "Hello, the plane I was on crashed and now there is a man who fell into the sea and is badly injured. I need your help, I can't pull him by myself." The woman was slightly surprised, and looked at the figure lying on the shore then shouted into the house, "Honey, come out and help." The fisherman came out with big steps. After hearing what happened, without saying a word, he carried the man back to the house. "Miss, your man is badly wounded, is this a gunshot wound?" The fisherman looked at his wound and judged. Zoe had some resistance inside. He was not her man! In her whole life, she had only one man, that was Darius! But at that point, Zoe didn't expose the truth and cooperatively said, "Yes, we encountered hijackers on the plane just now. Not only did they rob us, but they also fir**ed several shots at him." "What's wrong with the World?" The fisherman slapped his thighs in anger, "Wait a moment, I have good ancestral medicine. No matter how big the wound is, as long as you apply it, it will be fine tomorrow." Chapter 5 Two People In One Room "It’s amazing." It was the first time Zoe had heard of such a medicine. The woman smiled and said, "His family has been fishing for generations, and last time his arm was even bitten down by a big fish, but after applying it, he is now pretty well." "Okay…." Zoe was a little scared when she heard those words. The woman brought in a basin of water, "You first wash your man's wounds, and later he has to apply medicine." Zoe was helpless. She misunderstood their relationship again. Dropping her gaze to the man, he was sleeping soundly with his arms around her waist, his head resting on her knees as if he were holding a comfortable doll. Why was the man still taking advantage of her at this critical time? Wasn’t he in a coma! How could he do such a shameful thing! Zoe's impression of him was even worse! "Your man seems to really cherish you. Even though he's injured, he won't let go of you. Young people are so good. Our generation would get embarrassed just holding hands..." "I'm sorry to have embarrassed you..." Zoe maintained a composed smile, but in reality she hated the shameless man to the extreme! With everything in chaos, could he just calm down a bit? The woman was about to ridicule the young couple, but when her eyes fell on the man's face, she was stunned, "He…" Seeing the woman's slight surprise, Zoe thought, "Maybe he is a celebrity even if someone in a small fishing village knows him? "Ma'am, you know him?" "He…" the woman pondered for a moment and said, "looks familiar, maybe I have seen him somewhere." Zoe was surprised. Could he be the number one criminal often shown on TV or an escap%ed priso&ner from some prison? Judging from the way he was just chased, he must have offended someone! "Ma'am, please think about it again. Where have you seen him before?" That was a matter of her life's safety! If he was a criminal, she would call the police as soon as possible! Never would she hide a criminal! The woman shook her head. "I can't remember. You should be a city girl as you dress like this, right? With such a beautiful appearance you should be a star couple." "You are flattering. How could a star as dishevelled as us?" Just then, the fisherman fetched the medicine and warmly came to Zoe, "Miss, you put this powder on his wounds, I'll have my wife call you when dinner is ready. Rest here tonight, make yourself at home." "Thank you, it's really troublesome for you." "You are welcome." Seeing them close the door and go out, Zoe then pushed the man away! The shameless bastard! Not to mention he took her first kiss, he's still taking advantage of her! Zoe was furious and punched him in the chest. Seemingly having been hit on a painful spot, the man grunted, and frowned slightly. Zoe wondered if she had hit him in the wound. Seeing black blood spilling out of his suit, Zoe subconsciously took it off for him, not expecting the white shirt inside to be red with blood and a steady stream of blood was constantly pouring out of his chest. He really hurt badly, Zoe thought. Just now soaked in seawater, and now hit by her with a punch, she knew that the wound hurt a lot. Despite her reluctance, Zoe still helped him take off his shirt, not for anything else, but to prevent him from dying there and making things worse. Seeing the bloody wound, Zoe was shocked! She first wiped his body, because his whole body was soaked in seawater after all. She had to do that to apply the medicine to him. After wiping the upper half of his body, a basin of water was already turbid, Zoe dumped the water, went outside to get a new basin of hot water and was about to wipe his lower body. However, she hesitated when her fingers moved to the belt. In her whole life, she had never taken off any man's clothes before, let alone the pants! 👇👇👇>>>>>>>>>>>>>👇👇👇 💕💕Click the button below to install [RosyRead] To continue reading 💕💕 | LEARN_MORE | https://www.rosymance.com/landingpage-new.html?pix | 100344252868372 | Kelly White | https://facebook.com/100086485784589 | 297 | 0 | 0 | 2024-04-26 02:00 | person_profile | eligible | 0 | 0 | NONE | 0 | 0 | 1 | 0 | Learn More | 0 | Kelly White | 120210303126140483 | rosymance.com | NONE | dco | {{product.description}} | https://www.rosymance.com/landingpage-new.html?pixel_id=713027707555740&page_no=ff8080818f193431018f19b2058100b1&language=en_us&type=2&ad_id={{ad.id}}&adset_id={{adset.id}}&campaign_id={{campaign.id}}&ad_name={{ad.name}}&adset_name={{adset.name}}&campaign_name={{campaign.name}} | 2024-04-26 04:58 | https://scontent-mia3-2.xx.fbcdn.net/v/t39.35426-6/439620816_415456247792651_6210922611053911493_n.jpg?stp=dst-jpg_s60x60&_nc_cat=110&ccb=1-7&_nc_sid=c53f8f&_nc_ohc=jAONMXM7SFkQ7kNvgEvNKEE&_nc_ht=scontent-mia3-2.xx&oh=00_AfCfw5SRnSiLXSm8qEYfmhvjRo2MYGXnSDUwIc-UYjDNnw&oe=663217CB | person_profile | 0 | Kelly White | https://scontent-mia3-2.xx.fbcdn.net/v/t39.35426-6/439665641_2375844026028703_6686993545945854500_n.jpg?_nc_cat=105&ccb=1-7&_nc_sid=c53f8f&_nc_ohc=oNyU5JxqP_IQ7kNvgEPEi-k&_nc_ht=scontent-mia3-2.xx&oh=00_AfCo9rS78iNkEv1U7__fA2P-zTx_q4hqLiyG-4bOWhF_Jg&oe=66322323 | 0 | 3 | Kelly White | 0 | 0 | 2024-04-26 02:00 | View Edit Delete |
