Yes | 2024-10-15 09:54 | active | 1634 | 0 | $0.1 to read all chapters | Uncle Aleksei forced his hard part of himself between my lips, grunting my name and wrapping my hair in fists. Thrusting. I wish that was not just a dream. “I know you want me Uncle Aleksei, why do you keep pushing me away?” I let my fingers walk up the center of his formidable chest. “I want you to ride on my coock.“ He pressed me back against the trunk, “But I gave your father five years. During those five years, I vowed to keep you innocent. Including me.” “And when does the contract expire?”My mouth is dry, so I make myself swallow. His big chest lifts and shudders back down. “Tonight.” ------ Chapter 1 1: Aleksei. Some would call her a curse, but I know better. Little Georgina is an angel. My angel. Her father is speaking to me from the other side of his desk, but my attention is captured by the scene taking place outside the window, just over his shoulder. Georgina is out for her daily morning swim in the backyard, jumping off the diving board in her emerald – green bikini. As she jumps, long, raven – colored hair flies out around her, musical laughter reaching through the window pane to fill the office. Her teat come free of the flimsy material beneath the water. I know this, even if I can’t see it. I’d love nothing more than to pluck her from the pool and bend her over that diving board, those ridiculous green triangles hanging from my teeth. Soon. My fingers twitch where they rest on my knee, imagining the strings of her top caught between them. Yanking them open instead of tying them securely, as I’d done only an hour ago. Uncle Aleksei, will you tie me up? A growl kindles in my throat. Yes, some might say I have been cursed, assigned as full – time bodyguard to a tempting eighteen – year – old who comes to me with her every whim, giving me big green, grateful eyes when I fulfill them. Men of this world want instant gratification. I am the opposite — and everyone will soon know this about me. My time has been bided for five long years, and my reward is almost ready to be claimed. “As you know, Aleksei, when Georgina’s mother was taken from me…” David Harris’s hand clenches into a fist and shakes over his neat stack of paperwork. “Georgina was all I had left. She’s been homeschooled, kept within these walls from enemies who would target me. I’ve trusted her to no one, save you. And once again, I must ask that you protect her in this next phase of her life.” His expression wilts. “College.” David is a congressman with deep Russian roots. Loyalties that he never forgot but keeps out of the public eye. He’s a man who doesn’t mind using his political influence to grant favors, when such actions benefit him. Such is my case. In exchange for David pulling strings to bring my mother and siblings to Chicago from Russia, I pledged him five years of fealty. When I came to Chicago, my reputation preceded me. I’m a man who keeps his vows, even at the cost of death. Among my duties as David’s right – hand soldier, I have been tasked with keeping his precious daughter safe and happy. I have performed my job very well. A weaker man would have given in to his lust by now and bedded the girl. Snuck in while her father slept upstairs and claimed her perfection for his own. Red coats my vision, crackling fire roaring to life in my ears. Just thinking of her in someone else’s hands makes me want to commit slaughter. “If it was up to me, she would go somewhere local. Private.” David sighs, scrubbing both hands over his face. “But she wants her freedom. We can’t keep her locked up forever.” Oh no? A matter of opinion, perhaps. I examine my knuckles. “You want me to drive her to college.” “Yes.” David turns and watches Georgina through the window. “Keeping her sheltered for so long…it’s going to backfire. She doesn’t know how to make friends or go places alone. Christ, she doesn’t know anything thing about men.” And she won’t. No men but me. I grip the armrest of the chair so tightly, it begins to snap, but I release it in time. “No,” I agree, my voice grating. “She knows nothing of men.” If she did, she wouldn’t be so comfortable sitting on my lap. Or parading around her rooms in nothing but flimsy pantie when I can clearly see her through the open door. My coock has gotten hard watching those little cheeks jiggle inside lace so many times, I’ve lost count. Her body is not the only thing that stirs my manhood, though. Oh no. Others tend to write off my Georgina as a pampered brat who is spoiled thanks to her paramour looks. Little do they know Michigan State gave her a full academic scholarship. I can’t check books out of the library for her fast enough, and I’ve replaced her tutors several times because they couldn’t devise a challenging curriculum. The angel keeps me on my toes. “I’ve asked a lot of you, Aleksei. My work schedule doesn’t allow me to be home very often, and you’ve become Georgina’s family.” He gives me a look ripe with meaning. “And you haven’t broken the promise you made me. You know the one. God, she even calls you Uncle.” I know this. I don’t need a reminder of the purgatory I’ve been living in. “You’ve become invaluable to me, not just as Georgina’s bodyguard but as an operator.” We trade a look. Operator. Hit man. Same difference. “You’re the best I have on my payroll, but those skills haven’t been utilized as much as I’d like. Once you help Georgina transition to college life, I need you back here working for me.” He leans forward across the desk. “Without Georgina as a distraction, we can really focus your…talents…where they’re needed. Name your price.” I’m saved from having to answer when Georgina explodes into the room, bringing color and light along with her. And too little clothing for my liking. Bubbling with life, she turns in a pirouette, giving me a three – hundred – and – sixty – degree view of my tight, teenage tease, her slender curves covered in nothing but green strips of wet nylon. My muscles flex, my hands eager to reach for her. But I don’t have to, because as usual, Georgina reaches for me first. “Aleksei,” she sing – songs, taking her rightful spot on my thigh, throwing herself sideways against my chest and snuggling there. “You said you’d come outside and watch me dive.” My features stay neutral, but my head is filled with a forbidden image. Georgina’s legs spread on David’s desk while I tongue – fack her to a hiip – bucking high. “Your father needed to speak with me.” Her fingers toy with the button of my coat. “About what?” David smiles absently, his gaze drawn by something on his computer screen. “Your drive to college tomorrow.” He refocuses on his daughter, seeming to find nothing at all wrong with her clinging to me half neked, still dripping from the pool and looking like an advertisement for expensive internet porrn. The ones I never click on because they aren’t Georgina. David’s cluelessness is only one of the reasons I have no guilt about what’s to come. He has taken my reputation as a killer into consideration and still allowed me to raise his daughter. Me. A red – blooded male taking on responsibilities of her meals, her schooling, even the purchase of her clothing. Caring for her when she’s sick. Does he actually believe I could now part ways with my reward? “You know I have my reservations about letting you attend school so far from home, but we’ve registered you under an alias. Your pictures haven’t been in the media since you were thirteen, so there’s no danger of being recognized. Aleksei is going to check your dorm for security and speak with personnel, to make sure you’re settled before he leaves.” David raps a fist on his desk. “Any instructions he gives you are for your own safety. Make sure you listen.” “Of course.” Green eyes flash up at me, full of wit and sass. “Don’t I always?” Chapter 2 This is it. I’m finally free. I get a running start and slide across the hood of Aleksei’s black Mercedes, my buutt making a long squeaking sound. Sticking the landing on the other side, I throw back my hands like I’ve just dismounted the uneven bars at the Olympics. Watching me through broody, slate – gray eyes, Aleksei tosses my final suitcase into the trunk without cracking a smile. What is his deal today? Most times, he would at least give me a little lip tilt action. “Aw. Are you going to miss me, Uncle Aleksei?” I saunter closer and prop my hiip against one of the rear car doors. “Is that why you’re so quiet?” His gaze tracks down to my jean skirt, probably finding it too short to be decent. “Nyet.” Hurt swamps my belly knowing he’s eager to get rid of me, but I don’t let him see it. Some days I think he likes caring for me. He does it so well. When my father checked out emotionally after my mother was killed, Aleksei became the only constant in my life. He’s stayed that way for five years. Would a hardened man like Aleksei do anything he didn’t want to do? I have no idea. Then again, this is part of the reason I’m going so far away from home for school, isn’t it? The confusing way Aleksei makes me feel? My hormones officially went bananas right after I turned sixteen and walked in on Aleksei in the shower. Through the water – speckled glass, I saw his neked, six – foot – eight frame covered in jet-black ink, water coasting down that handsome face — so frustratingly made of stone — splashing on his hard packs of ruthless muscle. He didn’t see me in the bathroom. No, he couldn’t have. Or he wouldn’t have continued stroking that huge, heavy trunk of flesh between his legs, muttering curses in Russian. Aleksei being none the wiser about my accidental peep show is the only reason I can still call him Uncle with a straight face. Because I’m pretty sure girls aren’t supposed to have sweaty fever dreams about their uncles. Even if they’re not actual blood relations. And even if the dreams are against a girl’s will. Oh, who are you kidding? You beg your subconscious for those dreams. My niples turn to spikes beneath my tank top just thinking about the last one. When I joined Aleksei inside that foggy shower and he forced that hard part of himself between my lips, grunting my name and wrapping my hair in fists. Thrusting. Have I been crazy thinking he could crave that — crave me — in real life? Sometimes I swear I sense torment and restraint in him, but he locks it down so fast I think I imagined it. Well, I’ve had quite enough of living in such close quarters with the man haunting my dreams and turning me into a walking, talking horn dog. It hurts. Physically and mentally. Not to mention, the second – guessing of my own sanity is starting to drive me crazy. Not that I’d let him know that. Memories of Aleksei’s rough hands tying my bathing suit strings yesterday makes my movements provocetive as I sway closer to him, inserting myself between him and the trunk, letting my fingers walk up the center of his formidable chest. “You won’t miss me even a little bit?” Eyes flaring, he catches my wrist. “Do not play games with me, Georgina.” The breath catches in my lungs, heat rushing to my cheeks. Rushing to every part of me. What if I never get another chance to figure out if I imagined the pull between us? I’m going to college today. Even if he tells me I’m crazy and he could never be attracted to a girl he raised from such a young age — a girl he taught to drive, taught to throw a punch — I won’t have to see him every day while living with the knowledge. The reality of not seeing him sends panic and pain slicing into my middle. And it’s the pain that knocks the words free of my mouth. “I’ve tried to play games,” I blurt out, thinking of all my silly attempts to tempt him. “You won’t play them back.” Gray eyes narrow, and I sense a debate taking place. I’m so focused on watching him for a sign of what he’s thinking, I sack in a breath when he releases my wrist…and steps forward, pressing me back against the trunk. Traps me there. My neck is forced to crane to keep eye contact, and he looms, so massive and unmoving above me, but his dominance only makes my nerve endings go wilder. “Nothing about us, little angel, is a game. I will not miss you, because I never intend to leave you.” His hand slides beneath my skirt and cups my right cheek, kneading it, stealing the power from my knees. Making my mind reel. “This is mine. Now go put it in the passenger seat, before your father sees me defiling you from the window. It wouldn’t stop my plans, but it might delay us.” He slaps my backside, growling deep in his throat. “And you know I hate being late.” I’m left with my mouth agape, staring into space as Aleksei rounds the car and climbs into the driver’s side, starting the engine. What in the world just happened? Chapter 3 My Gina does not like puzzles. She fidgets now in the passenger seat like a bird in its nest, unable to get comfortable. Which means I cannot settle, either, because her comfort is my calling. I do find the way she huffs and peeks over at me from beneath her eyelashes rather adorable, however, so I’ve decided to let it continue a little longer. She will have the information she seeks soon enough. Revealing my intention to keep Georgina was not part of my plan, but I’m a man at the end of his tether. My notorious patience is thinning with every mile I drive. Keeping myself restrained around this girl was never easy, but now that I can see light at the end of the tunnel, I find my desperation to claim Georgina growing stronger by the second. To a level of hunger I never knew existed and doubt I’ll ever extinguish. Her palms travel down her bare thighs then back up. A nervous gesture, but that doesn’t stop it from hardening my diick. When I make her my wife, I will allow the skirts. But I will take her wearing these tiny creations as a signal she wants to be facked until they’re soaked straight through with my seed. Then she can decide if she still wants to wear them in public. If I want to make it to our destination, I must cease these thoughts, but I know from experience that it’s impossible. She is my obsession and has been such for longer than I would admit to a court of law. Quitting breathing would be easier than stopping my thoughts of her beneath me. Finally. Her vergin blood staining the sheets of our bed. Georgina sits forward suddenly. “I didn’t pack my favorite pajamas. The long red shirt with the pocket — ” “I packed it.” “My copy of Anne of Green Gables?” A memory of her curled up beside me reading the book makes my throat feel funny. “Done.” She’s quiet for a beat. “What about my spare pair of reading glasses? I always lose the first and I need a backup until I find — ” “They’re in the bag with your…lotions.” “Oh. Thank you, Aleksei.” She goes back to rubbing those thlghs. The ones that will be living around my waist very soon, but not soon enough for my sanity. “So, um. What did you mean back in the driveway? About never leaving me. Did you mean that…figuratively?” My lips press together to keep from smiling. Six miles. She made it six miles without giving in to her curiosity. Too bad I have to make it another two hundred miles without giving in to my impulse to fully explain my intentions. “I meant it the way I meant it.” I feel her low hum deep in my stomach. “I don’t like that answer.” “You are only satisfied with full explanations.” “That’s because I’m a normal.” Again, I suppress a smile. “You don’t find me normal, angel?” She tilts her head and peruses me with lively green eyes. “Definitely not.” Her jiggling right leg tells me this line of questioning is far from over. When it finally stills, I glance over to find her cheeks pink. “Aleksei, you…touched me.” At the reminder of her taut ass fitting perfectly in my hand, the teeth of my zipper bite into my swelling diick. “I’ve touched you many times. Do you not recall what happens when there’s a thunderstorm and you crawl into bed with me?” A puff of air leaves her lips. “You’re just so w – warm.” Memories of Georgina tucked tight against me, her hands dangerously low on my belly, make my fingers tighten on the steering wheel. That long red T – shirt she calls pajamas is so threadbare I could feel her niples rake my sides every time she breathed. Oh yes, she’s tried to play games with me many, many times. I’ve cursed my refusal to break vows on more occasions than I can remember, but I’m a man of my word. I can only hope she will appreciate this about me one day. Tomorrow would be nice. “I’m glad my temperature pleases you, Georgina.” I can hear her quickened breathing across the car. “Brushing my neck accidentally with your fingers when tying my bathing suit or…rubbing my back when I’m sick…that’s not the way you touched me in the driveway. That was different,” she finishes in a whisper. “Did you like it?” Heat kicks me low in the gut. Years of forcing myself to treat this girl like a niece has taken its toll. How can I resist talking to her about sax? About the off – limits body she’s been tempting me with since I was hired by her father? When I finally answer her question, my voice is nothing more than gravel. “You’re asking me if I enjoyed having your smooth little cheek in my hand, knowing there’s a tan line that slashes diagonally, right across the center?” A rumble of hunger moves in my chest. “There’s a reason I never remove my overcoat while you’re swimming in that green mind-fack of a bathing suit, angel. My cocck is so stiff, you could use it as a second diving board.” Her knees shot together, and I barely check the urge to reach over and pry them apart. To see if my confession made her pantie wet. Don’t do it. If I see any evidence that her vergin cuunt is prepared for me, I’ll pull over and breed her on the hood of this car. “B – but you…” she sputters. “You’re the one who bought the green bathing suit for me.” “I assure you, Georgina, that bathing suit was all for Uncle Aleksei.” Chapter 4 Is this real life? Sheltered or not, I’m usually capable of assessing a situation pretty fast. Reading people. Solving dilemmas. But I can’t make sense of this. Aleksei, the man I’ve been having illicit fantasies about for years, has been having them about me, too? No way. I don’t believe it. All those times I snuck into his bedroom because I was “scared of the thunder” (I wasn’t), he refused to take any of the openings I gave him. I mean, call me crazy, but when a half – neked girl combs her fingers through a man’s chest hair and purrs like a kitten, that’s a sure – fire sign she’s interested in more. But he’d only lain there like a stone statue, grunting at me in Russian to stop interrupting his sleep. All this time, has he wanted to push me down into the mattress and… I can’t even bring myself to think the word, because I’m already slick. Right where it counts. And he keeps frowning at my squeezed – together legs, as if he knows it. “I don’t believe you. About wanting me.” His jaw muscle flexes. Hard. He’s angry now? “Don’t believe me?” “Nope. Why now? Why would you wait to tell me this until you’re…” I fling a hand toward the passing scenery, “essentially driving me out of your life?” He bares his teeth. “I’m not leaving you. We’ve spoken of this.” Hearing that, knowing he didn’t just mean it in some symbolic way, my heart lifts with relief. As much as I want my freedom, the one thing — person — I never want to be away from is Aleksei. He’s the one who brings home a cake and candles to celebrate my birthday when my father forgets. He’s the one who fusses and threatens the doctors when I’m sick. My friend, the only man who’s ever made my lady parts clench…my uncle who isn’t really an uncle. Aleksei. But it’s difficult to reconcile the man I’ve grown up with and this new, saxually charged Adonis…who claims to want me. Bad. Even after walking in on him touching himself in the shower, our relationship didn’t change. Not on his end, anyway. I was walking into walls for two months, the hot vision of his big hand stroking up and down his shaft painted on my corneas. “I need an explanation, Aleksei. Or I’ll…” I search the car for some threat inspiration, my gaze landing on the granola bar sticking out of my purse. “I won’t eat until I get the truth.” If possible, his powerful frame grows even stiffer. “Your lunch time is in seventeen minutes, Georgina. You will not be missing it.” Propping my hand on a bent wrist, I flutter my eyelashes at him. “Then I guess you should start talking.” He grunts, looking at me with grudging approval. “You are a very challenging creature.” His fingers tap on the steering wheel. “Very well. I will appease some of this curiosity.” My smile seems to distract him. “Thank you.” A curt nod. “Try and maintain that grateful attitude.” His cheek flexes for long moments as he stares out at the road ahead. “Do you remember when I came to live with you?” “Of course.” I turn and lay the side of my face on the leather seat. “It was the week after my mother’s funeral. My father was so paranoid, he wouldn’t let me leave the house, and I thought I’d be a prisoner forever, but…he trusted you to protect me. Before you even unpacked, you took me out for ice cream.” “Yes.” His expression warms, before the stoicism returns and chases it away. “This trust your father had in me is very important, Georgina. It didn’t come for free. Do you understand? Not for him or me.” He pauses. “My mother and sister needed a home in Chicago, and your father had the connections I didn’t, being so new to this country.” I nod, because I knew this much already. Aleksei’s family is private and they don’t come to the house very often, unless there’s some news that must be delivered in person. But I always know when it’s someone’s birthday because he asks my opinion when ordering flowers or a gift online. “I’m glad he helped your family. It brought me you.” My face goes up in flames as soon as the words leave my mouth. Normally, I wouldn’t hesitate to let Aleksei know I appreciate him. But that was before he touched me. Before he admitted to admiring my near – neked body with looks I used to believe were platonic. Now I worry saying how much I need him out loud might make me sound too desperate. Aren’t I, though? God, I can barely sit still on the seat, I want to be in his lap so bad. “Georgina.” “Yes,” I breathe. “You will continue as you always have. You will not stop telling me your thoughts.” He rolls a shoulder. “I like them very much.” My heart is pounding in my ears when I say, “Tell me the rest.” His eyebrows lift at being given a command, but thankfully he doesn’t pull the plug on our conversation. “I gave him five years of loyal service in exchange for his help with my family. When I came to Chicago, I assumed I would be running…a very different kind of operation for your father. But when he mentioned hiring you a different bodyguard, I protested.” I catch a laugh in my throat, just imagining what that protest from Aleksei looked and sounded like. Sort of like the human equivalent of a volcanic eruption. “This amuses you, angel?” The car picks up speed. “Men are not to be trusted.” “Only you.” “That’s right. Only me.” He slants a look in my direction, those cool gray eyes roaming over my legs and bosom, his humongous arms seeming to expand and flex inside his coat. “I gave him five years. During those five years, I vowed to keep you innocent. Of all men, yes. But when I made this promise to your father, it was clear that it pertained to me. So long as this five – year contract was in effect, you were forbidden.” Five years. My mind flips like pages in a calendar, thinking back to the day Aleksei arrived. Fall. It was fall. I remember because the first time I saw him, I was sitting on the front steps of my house, head resting in my lap, wishing I could go ride my bike at the pier with my friends. Never again, though. My father, lost in his grief, had barred me from leaving. Aleksei’s black boots appeared first, crunching on the autumn leaves that had fallen from the tree. He crouched down and forced me to meet his eyes. Eyes that reminded me of thawing ice. Angel, he’d rasped. “And…” My mouth is dry, so I make myself swallow. “And when does the contract expire?” His big chest lifts and shudders back down. “Tonight.” Chapter 5 It’s time for Georgina’s lunch. When she doesn’t eat, everything I say is the wrong thing. So we don’t miss meals. She has been quiet since I informed her my shackles come off tonight. Quiet and…restless. I take a book from the glove compartment and drop it in her lap, but she starts to read it upside down, so I stow it away again. Her fingers pluck at the hem of her skirt, her feet perform an awkward dance routine, and she keeps changing the radio stations, never settling. I have an urge to park the car and pull her across the seat, into my lap. It’s what she needs. A good, hard ride on her man’s cocck. Even if she doesn’t realize it yet. Soon. There are some things we must speak about, before I take her body. But even I am not foolish enough to inform Georgina of her future when she has an empty stomach. She might have been born in Chicago, but she has a fiery Russian temper. In the future, I have no doubt I’ll fack her mid – tantrum — frequently — but I want her first time to be… Romantic. My lip curls at such a feminine notion. Only Georgina could make a cold – blooded killer consider things like candles and high thread count sheets. I never imagined myself as a husband. And I never would have, if I hadn’t met the angel. Now I can think of nothing but making every second of her life happy. Providing and protecting what God has given me. Perhaps Georgina and I have different notions about what she requires to be content, but she will come around to my way of thinking. There is no other choice. A hint of unease creeps into my chest, but I banish it. I’ve already mapped the restaurant where I plan to feed Georgina, and we approach the freeway exit right on time. The gourmet sandwich shop is not the main attraction in the tiny town, though. And when we park along the main street, she sees it and gasps. “A library? Oh my God, it’s huge.” She fumbles with the door handle, unable to take her eyes off the gothic building. “Aleksei, did you know?” I don’t bother answering, because she should know by now, I do nothing by accident. Instead, I climb out of the driver’s side and round the bumper, scanning the street for threats as I take Georgina’s hand, pulling her onto the sidewalk. She sways into me, but this time I don’t step back right away. I let her front mold to mine, her lips popping open at the feel of my jutting diick. I want to back her against the car, thrust my eraction up between her thighs and introduce her to the only cocck she’ll ever know, damm the potential witnesses. But as always, when I take her out in public, heads begin turning almost immediately. In Georgina’s direction. There is a breeze blowing against the hem of her skirt, the white material teasing the underside of her tempting buns. That same breeze stiffens her niples and makes her shiver, skyrocketing my protective instincts. Grinding my teeth together, I reach into the backseat and wrap her in the denim jacket she brought along. She presses her lips together, those green eyes knowing. Does she enjoy my jealousy? I wonder if she still would if she knew how deep it runs. “Thank you for the library,” she whispers. “Can we go?” “Da, angel.” I take her hand and lead her to the restaurant. “After you eat.” “I’m not even hungry.” She consumes every bite. I eat much faster, so I lean back in my chair and enjoy the sight of her mouth moving, the little pleased noises she makes. Just like on the street, every male in the place cranes their neck to get an eyeful of what’s mine. Until I let them know with my eyes that I will strangle them with piano wire in their sleep if they don’t fack off. By the time Georgina finishes, we’re the only ones left in the restaurant, which pleases me very much. On the walk to the library, Georgina takes my hand and smiles up at me. “I guess I should enjoy the good meals while they last. It’s going to be crappy campus food from here on out.” Again, there’s an uncomfortable pang below my neck, much like guilt. “Only one hour in the library, Georgina. I want to stay on schedule.” She glances up at the giant clock on top of the library. “Freshman orientation isn’t until tomorrow night. We have until then to move me into the dorm.” She sends me a saucy wink. “No sweat, right?” No sweat? Moving her into a place full of strangers with bad judgment and a steamy man – child trying to get laid around every corner? This is what she considers no sweat? There is only one way for me to retain my sanity, and it doesn’t include leaving her to sleep in a place where I cannot guard her. When I don’t answer, questions appear in Georgina’s eyes, but I quickly usher her into the library. Her intake of breath distracts me from my dark thoughts, replacing them with appreciation over her reaction. There’s a beam of sunlight streaming in through a second – story stained – glass window, and it lands on the angel, making her glow even brighter. She presses her fingers to her lips and turns in a circle, taking in the sweeping marble staircases and endless rows of books on either side. I only have eyes for Georgina, because surely there is no greater creation on this earth. The fates could not truly expect me to let her go. No. It would be impossible. I would go insane. I’m doing the right thing. The only thing. My voice is gruff when I find it. “The fiction section is downstairs. To your right.” Her lips tilt at the evidence that not only did I plan in advance to bring her here, but I did my research. For her. Everything for her. “I think I’ll take a look upstairs first.” When she climbs the marble staircase, her backside twitches right to left, turning my bloodstream into a river of fire. She casts a look back at me over her shoulder, and I know she’s up to something. But if I can do anything but follow. Chapter 6 Turnabout is fair play, right? Aleksei has stroked my hormones like a harp player for the longest. I’ve lived for his grudging smiles and grunts of approval. I’ve woken up hot and sweaty because his lips accidentally grazed my earlobe during a hug, turning my dreams into graphic movies starring him. And me. It has not been easy living on the razor’s edge of something I don’t fully understand but am eager to learn about. And yes, maybe plotting to seduce him in a public library is a little impulsive. After all, he all but told me we’re going all the way tonight. Mere hours from now. A hot shiver passes through me as I turn down the darkened self – help aisle, Aleksei’s boots thudding heavily on the marble behind me. I don’t want to wait for tonight. This attraction ran thick between the both of us, so I’m kind of angry that he kept me at a distance while I was suffering. We both had needs — Aleksei had no right to file it under his stubborn terms. Maybe the politician’s daughter is coming out to play, because I feel compelled to take back a little of the control he didn’t see fit to allow me. I’ve been handled by my handler, and I don’t appreciate knowing how much time we’ve wasted. Aleksei thought I was playing games with him before? He ain’t seen nothing yet. I find what I’m looking for and stop, pointing to the top shelf. “Aleksei?” He’s suddenly so huge beside me in the dim lighting, his tightly leashed control beginning to show signs of strain, it takes me a moment to continue. “Can you reach up and get me the big red one? The one with gold lettering on the spine?” He seems surprised by my request, but complies. And I have the satisfaction of watching one dark eyebrow hop toward his hairline when he reads the title. “The Kama Sutra, Georgina?” I step between Aleksei and the shelf and slowly unbutton his signature black overcoat. Listening to his breath accelerate, I run a finger down his chest and stomach, feeling pretty smug when he moans. “I thought I could use some pointers for tonight.” My index finger hooks in his waistband of his dress pants and tugs. “Don’t you want me to be…ready?” “I will put you in the positions that will bring you the most pleasure,” Aleksei rasps, reaching over my head to slide the book back into its slot. “You will not need such pointers.” “Because you’re going to teach me.” Pinpricks of sweat appear on his brow. “This is so.” The ragged hunger in his tone sends warmth pooling between my legs, so I rub my thighs together to help tend the ache. But it doesn’t help. No, it only makes me desperate to be touched. If this plan backfires and I’m left hot to trot…without any actual trotting…I’m in for a world of hurt. “Can you give me a brief outline of the lesson plan now?” Aleksei grips the shelves above my head, and they creak in protest. His face moves within an inch of mine, those gray eyes deepening to black. “You tempt me to madness on my final day in perdition, Georgina?” “It didn’t have to be this way.” I shrug off my jean jacket and let it drop to the ground, arching my back to draw his attention to my bosom. “All those times in your bed, late at night. No one would — ” “Stop this,” he grinds out, pressing closer. “No one would have known if you’d make me yours.” “Everyone would have known within nine months, little angel. Once I gave in and facked you, you’d have been taking my seed morning, noon and night.” Twin flames blaze to life in his eyes, evidence of the danger lurking inside this man who has cared for me for so long. “And make no mistake. You are already mine.” Nine months. Nine. He means he would have gotten me pragnant. What about protection? We haven’t even kissed and he’s already talking about me having his children? There is so much that remains a mystery. Except for the fact that I want him. And I know in the deepest part of my heart that Aleksei would never, ever do something that wasn’t in my best interest. So I throw caution to the wind and incite his lust more. I want him to give me every ounce of it. “No. I’m not yours yet.” My hands trace the outline of his chest and core muscles as they heave into my palms. “Why don’t you do something to change that?” His voice is full of dark promise when he says, “Very well, angel.” Those capable hands drop from the shelves, hanging at his sides as our foreheads meet. He rolls them together while his hot breath forms steam on my lips. How long is he going to keep his mouth a fraction of an inch from mine? Oh God. Every second he waits, bolts turn tight below my belly button, moisture collects inside my pantie. Finally, his thumbs brush my hips and he grates a string of Russian words. His forehead grinds against mine. And just when I think I’m going to be left in suspense forever, Aleksei slides his tongue into my mouth. I make the most embarrassing sound and almost hit the floor, like the total rookie that I am. Tongue right off the bat? Isn’t there supposed to be some lip stuff to lead into the main event? Oh…my God. I don’t care. I just want more. And Aleksei gives it to me. He catches me by the elbows and drags me back upright, wedging me between his made – of – stone body and the bookshelf, flicking his tongue against mine until I join him, mating our mouths in a rhythm that echoes in my pulse. Who is this man? I thought I knew everything about him, right down to his preferred vodka and cologne of choice. I know which of my father’s associates make him stick closer to me when they’re around, his lack of a middle name, that he secretly enjoys watching Ellen. Did I know he could kiss like this? Uh, no. His lips are only beginning to slant over mine, his tongue fully invading my mouth with full, sweeping licks, when his hands roam down my backside. This time, they don’t stop with a squeeze of my right cheek, though. No, his rough palms slide inside my pantie and grasp both sides of my bottom firmly. Possessively. With a tortured, male sound, the kiss deepens…and my feet leave the ground. My legs move automatically to surround his hiips as I’m dragged slowly — so slowly — up the length of his hardness. That private, untouched part of me rides from the root of Aleksei’s manhood to the very top, where he keeps me. “Some days I don’t know if I’ll survive without these thighs around me. Welcoming me,” he grates. “You jumped into my arms once…long ago. You could barely get your legs around me then, but you tried. You tried so hard. It was almost my undoing, Georgina, standing there while you struggled to open them wide enough to fit my body.” Flashes of memory bombard from all sides. Aleksei’s curses, his flexing jaw. “I remember. You left. You…I didn’t know what I’d done wrong.” “Nothing, angel. You’re never anything but too facking right. I think even your father knew I went home to stroke my cocck that afternoon.” His hands knead my backside with intention, and every muscle below my waist constricts, ripping a whimper from my throat. “This vow I made has almost been broken many times. I’d sell my soul to break it right now and slide my diick inside your tight hole.” “Oh,” I blurt, my head spinning from Aleksei’s confessions. His filthy speech that somehow sounds oh – so – amazing. “Isn’t that what y – you’re going to do?” I don’t realize I’m holding my breath, my eyes gone blind, until Aleksei laughs a little against my mouth. There’s only the barest touch of humor in the sound, and an ocean full of agony. And with my cliit bearing down on the thick tip of him, I’m totally sharing in that pain. Oh wow. My inner walls are clenching out of control, my thighs squirming around Aleksei’s hiips. Forget wet. I’m soaked. Can he feel that? He must. I can barely supply oxygen to my lungs and how dare he laugh? How…dare he…wait, what am I mad about again? “Look at me now,” he growls, his accent thickening. I shake my head to loosen the lust fuzz and focus on familiar gray eyes. Only they’re not so familiar right now. They’re more than a little wild, pupils dilated. “Yes?” I whisper. “You will come to understand that I do not break my vows, Georgina. I promised to keep you innocent, and soon I will promise to keep you. Period. I will have your pusy at five o’clock and no sooner.” His grip on my bottom strengthens. “Until then, soak me through, little angel.” I’m about to question Aleksei’s order when he rolls his hiips and sparks go off behind my eyes. Like everything else he’s done since our kiss started, it’s sensual and smooth. His impossibly huge stiffness chafes the silk of my underwear in slow waves. Up and back. Up and back. Until I’m gasping for air and digging my nails into his shoulder, thighs shaking. Even my hair follicles are screaming with sensation. Oh God. Oh… “Aleksei.” My hiips tweak to meet his next roll, and I hit my peak. Only it’s not just a peak. It’s the freaking Everest of orgesms, and my ears are ringing with the impact of it, because I’ve been waiting for this man to touch me since I can remember. “Aleksei. Don’t stop.” “Da. That’s a good angel.” Another sharp roll, only this time he grinds me down onto his steel bulge, sending me into another realm of pleasure I never knew was possible. Straight up into the clouds above Everest. “Make a mess of my pants. Leave me covered in that vergin smell.” “Yes. Yes.” I can’t stop shaking, and his dark voice against my forehead, the ownership of his hands that continue to knead me, keep my climax rolling, letting it master me. And the boulder of feeling rocking me to the core knocks loose my deepest secret without warning. “I love you.” I cling to Aleksei, working my clenching flesh on his hard lap. “I love you.” I only catch a glimpse of Aleksei’s flaring eyes before my back hits the bookshelf, his voice rasping in my ear. “Did you just say…” His chest shudders up and down. “Did you mean that?” My neck loses power, sending my forehead dropping into the crook of his neck. “Yes. I always have. Always.” Triumph and tenderness clash in his usually stoic face. “You have given me heaven, angel. Now I will return the favor.” When Aleksei peels me off the bookshelf and strides even farther into the dark, all I can think is, there’s more? | LEARN_MORE | https://novelmates.readlife.mobi/4u9l6i45jg0.html | Top novels | https://www.facebook.com/61561012736675/ | 132 | 0 | 0 | 1969-12-31 18:00 | 0 | 0 | 0 | 0 | 0 | 0 | Learn more | 0 | novelmates.readlife.mobi | VIDEO | https://novelmates.readlife.mobi/4u9l6i45jg0.html | 1969-12-31 18:00 | https://scontent-lga3-1.xx.fbcdn.net/v/t39.35426-6/462928471_506756795509719_5087976175215915408_n.jpg?stp=dst-jpg_s60x60&_nc_cat=111&ccb=1-7&_nc_sid=c53f8f&_nc_ohc=euS2qXBZ1zYQ7kNvgE-QVKA&_nc_zt=14&_nc_ht=scontent-lga3-1.xx&_nc_gid=A6fpUm78R7oz0l8DUy1Zi08&oh=00_AYB7uW5Kl-48bq1pjDMQra1NodsUR7oY2ljSYswdiiRiMg&oe=67145A24 | PERSON_PROFILE | 0 | 0 | 0 | Top novels | 0 | 0 | 1969-12-31 18:00 | View Edit Delete

Yes | 2024-10-15 09:54 | active | 1634 | 0 | 🔥🔥 Click to Read 👉🏻👉🏻 | I fell in love with the hot President of the MC club who saved me when I was at work and harrassed by the guests. The hand on my neck was cutting off my air as he backed away from the pissed off looking bikers. "Let the lady go and we may just let you walk out of here...alive." My vision was starting to blur but I could still make out Axel as he stalked closer to the guy. Air exploded into my lungs as my body was tossed away. Large muscular arms circled my waist, preventing me from slamming to the floor. As I struggled to suck in much needed air I was able to focus on the man holding me. ———————— "Hey Harley...can you take table four?" Marie asked as she passed me in the kitchen. Setting the glasses in the bin to be cleaned I quickly washed my hands and headed back out into the bar area. I have worked at The Scene now for the past six months. I was lucky at finding a job so quickly when I got into town and I honestly loved working for Mac. On the outside he looked like a big, scary bad biker, but he was nothing but a soft marshmallow on the inside. Most of the girls at the strip club were terrified of him, but not me. I found his gruff exterior endearing. The man had a huge protective streak when it came to me, acting more like my father then the pathetic excuse of the one I was born to. I haven't really thought of him much since he was killed and I ran away. Over the years I have had to move a lot, keep under the radar of both the law and the law breakers. In my world, finding yourself having to deal with either never had a good outcome. Fortunately I was lucky and when I turned eighteen I was able to breathe a little bit easier. Mac shot me a wink as I passed the bar and headed past the stage. The place looked to be getting crowded tonight. Table four was one of our larger ones in the back corner behind the stage. It was usually reserved for the Renegades, the local MC that ran the small town and I know that Marie didn't feel very comfortable around them. Growing up around bikers myself, I didn't have a problem with them, as long as they left me alone. With Mac being a member, his bar became a common hang out for the brothers outside of the clubhouse. They got cheap beer andtits shoved in their faces, what more can a guy ask for right? I still wasn't quite sure why Mac even hired me since I refused to take any of my clothes off, but I was a bartender and cocktail waitress when needed. Most nights I was safe behind the bar, but two of the waitress's called in sick with the flu that was going around. So for tonight at least I had to dodge octopus hands and overzealous bikers. Pulling down on the leather vest I skirted around the stage to find table four overflowing with hot bikers. But I had my fill of bikers over the years, especially the earlier ones. All bikers were definitely on my no-no list. I couldn't risk being associated with anyone in that world. It was too dangerous. Just because I couldn't touch didn't mean I couldn't look, I was still a woman who appreciated nice scenery. There was just something about that a man in leather pants, a tight white shirt covered with a leather cut that just did something for me. It downright made my panties drenched. Just goes to show you that you can take the girl out of the MC, but you cannot take the MC out of the girl. Why couldn't I find a nice clean, cut guy who was an accountant? Was that too much to ask? Probably because I would be bored in about two minutes. Even though I found most of the guys at the table attractive, only one filled my dreams each night as I called out his name. Coming in my sleep was new experience for me, but Christ what an experience. Dream ranked up there with watching good porn, even better. Some of the things Axel did to me in dreamland had my body humming for hours after I wokeup. Even now my body tingled like his hands were actually caressing it. Shaking my head I tried to clear my dirty mind as I approached the table. I needed to get my head together. The President of the Renegades had women throwing themselves at him...many he caught. Trust me I was not on his radar. Over the past months the man barely acknowledged me but he would sit at the bar a couple nights a week and listen to me and mostly Mac, chiming in here and there. Even with his brisk attitude towards he paid attention. I swear I could feel the mans eyes on me constantly. I kept telling myself to leave matters alone, I didn't want to open that door. But I couldn't deny that the hot biker certainly revved my engine. "Hey boys...what can I get for you today?" "How about you on that stage showing us what you got darling?" Hawk the VP commented. "Not a chance Hawk...I am way too much woman for this crowd." The table laughed while checking out my assets. And trust me I had plenty. But I kept them covered. For a bartender at a strip club I had little skin showing, but it seemed to work. Skin tight jeans and a leather vest kept me all covered, but accentuated my assets. It didn't really fit into the whole strip club atmosphere, but Mac agreed since my boobs looked amazing he would let it go. "Come on Harley, show us yourtits." Tank yelled from down the table. All the others decided to chime in, wanting to see what I had stuffed into my skin tight leather vest. I found that loved to wear it for two reasons, one they kept the girls contained and I loved the feel of it rubbing against my skin. Dressed, I loved my curves and 38D size boobs, but...yeah my boobs were no longer perky, I don't think they were ever perky but the men still loved them, not like I showed them to any one. "All right enough you bozos. What can I get you, I guess I should say who wants a beer that might be quicker." Eight hands were raised, all except one. Axel sat back in his chair and continued to stare at me, not partaking in the joking around about me taking my clothes off. My chest ached knowing that I couldn't have a man like him. He was just like all the rest. Arrogant, cocky, womanizer...the list is endless. "And for you...whiskey?" Axel has been in here enough for me to know that he was partial to hard liquor than beer. "Yeah darling...whiskey will work." The side of his mouth raised as I nodded to him. The man was seriously gorgeous with just a half smile, he would be downright deadly with a full one. Before I could embarrass myself even more I headed back to fill the order. I loved when he referred to me as darling. I don't know why the endearment got to me every time but it did. Mac had even started to tease me about it. Handing out the drinks most of the men's eyes were focused on Bambi who was currently upside down on the pole. Christ that had to hurt...did she ever get pole burn I wondered? Placing the whisky in front of Axel I found his eyes not on Bambi but...me. "Um...can I get you anything else?" "Yeah darling...you." My butt hit his lap and his lips sealed to mine before I could utter a squeak. His large hands roamed all over as he drank from me. As quickly as it started it was over and I was pushed up right. As I tried to clear my focus Axel didn't seem fazed at all, as Bambi now had his full attention. Pissed and completely aroused I stormed off before I hit him over the head with my tray. The nerve of that man. This confirms every thought that I had...I needed to stay away from Axel Reed. For months the man sits at my bar and does nothing - now my lips still tingles from his sneak attack. As the night went on the crowd seemed to keep steady. And I was able to keep my mind off of the raging hormones towards one certain hot biker. Screw the man for captivating my thoughts. Tips were flowing along with the beer and everyone was behaving for a change. Most men left me alone since the nakedwoman dancing on stage kept their attention. But my luck ran out when I found myself being trapped between two men. Two large men who had wandering hands. "Baby...lets head into the back...I want to fc your titties and then come all over your face." Yeah, so not happening. What is it with men in general, were they so confusing. One brushed me off like I was a fly and now these two swarmed me like I was covered in honey. Thing Two held onto my arms tightly as I managed to break free, pulling my arm out of his strong grip. The club was dark and we were situated back by the wall, hardly visible. I should have known better. "Get off me. You want a lap dance flag one of the girls down." Using more force, I jerked my other arm free as I kneed Thing One in front of me since he was running his fingers along the top of my breasts. His touch sickened me bringing back bad memories. Then I thrust an elbow up into Thing Two. The impact momentarily dislodged me from their trap allowing me the time to escape. Then before I could flee the grip in my hair had my body projecting backwards once again into his deathlike grip. Where was a knife when you needed one. "Wrong movebitch." Pain exploded on my cheek as Thing One hit me and then Thing Two chocked my throat. Tightly...and then squeezed. All my years of training flew right out the window along with my breath. Fear took over. I knew better then to let my guard down. "Now we are going to head back to the back room and you are going..." Thing One suddenly disappeared from my view as he was tossed to the wall by an anger looking Axel. I could no longer see Thing One, only backs of the leather cuts displaying the Renegade patch. Prick deserved what he got. The hand on my neck was cutting off my air as Thing Two backed away from the pissed off looking bikers. "Let the lady go and we may just let you walk out of here...alive." My vision was starting to blur but I could still make out Axel as he stalked closer to the guy. Air exploded into my lungs as my body was tossed away from Thing Two. Large muscular arms circled my waist, preventing me from slamming to the floor. As I struggled to suck in much needed air I was able to focus on the man holding me. Axel. The look on his face confused me but I didn't have time to think about it before my world went black. | LEARN_MORE | https://c.whastory.com/ad/bnV0cmVhZHMvMzI1NTU3LzIw | Wha002 | https://www.facebook.com/61554783541379/ | 58 | 0 | 0 | 1969-12-31 18:00 | 0 | 0 | 0 | 0 | 0 | 0 | Learn more | 0 | c.whastory.com | VIDEO | https://c.whastory.com/ad/bnV0cmVhZHMvMzI1NTU3LzIwMjQxMDE0MTAzMjIzL3BhZ2U=?adid={{ad.id}} | 1969-12-31 18:00 | https://scontent-lga3-1.xx.fbcdn.net/v/t39.35426-6/463206351_3799654203649091_5891163089784991774_n.jpg?stp=dst-jpg_s60x60&_nc_cat=108&ccb=1-7&_nc_sid=c53f8f&_nc_ohc=t0-fzEjrXuIQ7kNvgFYQPy4&_nc_zt=14&_nc_ht=scontent-lga3-1.xx&_nc_gid=Aomha5mTYpxuJmRx8KRwdVW&oh=00_AYBoUQRJkndH7FJzvMyZfaw4XYMAr_1dNYNJTJZs-ak8Lg&oe=67146423 | PERSON_PROFILE | 0 | 0 | 0 | Wha002 | 0 | 0 | 1969-12-31 18:00 | View Edit Delete

Yes | 2024-10-15 09:54 | active | 1634 | 0 | ⚡️ Decompress Your Spine FAST | "I’m still in disbelief. At your last checkup, your sciatica was severe—your right leg and lower back were in constant pain, and the x-rays showed three degenerative discs along with poor spinal health. But now, your new x-rays look fantastic, you're moving around pain-free, and your sciatica symptoms have almost vanished. How is that possible? It looks like you’ve completely healed your spinal discs!" Dr. Walker stared at me, baffled, as he examined my lower back, asking more questions. "You’ve been doing physical therapy and exercising several times a week, right?" "Not really," I replied, "Just some light stretching once a week when I remember." "So, you’ve cut back on sitting for long periods watching TV?" he continued. "Actually, I’ve been binge-watching a new show every night, sitting for hours without any pain. I haven’t really changed that habit." "Then how is it that your sciatica and back pain are almost gone, and your spine is in nearly perfect health? Just a few months ago, you had one of the worst cases of sciatic nerve pinching I’d ever seen. No offense." I couldn’t help but laugh at his surprise. I felt too good to let his words bother me. That’s when I explained the unusual twist that had helped me completely turn around my relentless lower back pain and sciatica. You see, my last visit with Dr. Walker hadn’t been pleasant. I knew something was wrong. I could barely get out of bed in the mornings without a burning pain shooting down my right leg. I was spending hundreds of dollars on physical therapy and chiropractic treatments every week, but nothing worked. I was taking painkillers daily, and the brain fog from them was unbearable. I’ve had lower back issues for 15 years due to three degenerative discs pinching my sciatic nerve. Simple tasks like getting in and out of the car were agony. No matter how many chiropractor visits or physical therapy sessions I went to, nothing seemed to improve. If anything, my pain only worsened. I tried it all—stretching daily, light exercise, even changing my diet—but nothing helped. Then, a few weeks ago, I tried this spinal decompression belt. The first time I used it, I almost cried from relief. It was like my spine and pinched sciatic nerve had been begging for this for years. After just a few weeks of consistent use, the decompression helped my spinal discs ease off my sciatic nerve, providing immense relief. Soon, I was able to work in my garden and even push my grandkids on the swing without pain! Check out the information below to learn more about this spinal decompression device from an expert. No | 2024-10-15 09:54 | active | 1634 | 0 | 🔥🔥 Click to Read 👉🏻👉🏻 | I fell in love with the hot President of the MC club who saved me when I was at work and harrassed by the guests. | LEARN_MORE | https://c.whastory.com/ad/bnV0cmVhZHMvMzI1NTU3LzIw | Wha002 | https://www.facebook.com/61554783541379/ | 58 | 0 | 0 | 1969-12-31 18:00 | 0 | 0 | 0 | 0 | 0 | 0 | Learn more | 0 | c.whastory.com | VIDEO | https://c.whastory.com/ad/bnV0cmVhZHMvMzI1NTU3LzIwMjQxMDE0MTAzMjIzL3BhZ2U=?adid={{ad.id}} | 1969-12-31 18:00 | https://scontent-lga3-1.xx.fbcdn.net/v/t39.35426-6/462708443_1223797708729743_2107120677167537711_n.jpg?stp=dst-jpg_s60x60&_nc_cat=110&ccb=1-7&_nc_sid=c53f8f&_nc_ohc=8O9oCm2IzlkQ7kNvgFxeBCg&_nc_zt=14&_nc_ht=scontent-lga3-1.xx&_nc_gid=Aomha5mTYpxuJmRx8KRwdVW&oh=00_AYBcd5VqSpYwuNVQV-TL2keFzGr1L-d7dP4n1ZlPoM3RMA&oe=67143542 | PERSON_PROFILE | 0 | 0 | 0 | Wha002 | 0 | 0 | 1969-12-31 18:00 | View Edit Delete

Read more | My husband is deeply in love with his first love. When I told him jokingly that I was pregnant, he told me seriously: "You can't have this baby." I loved him, but I didn't want to love him blindly, so I ran away. Nine months later, when I was giving birth to my baby in a small-town hospital, I got a call from a friend, "You know what? Your husband found out you were crazy." ============= Chapter 1 Ex-girlfriend Returns Raegan Hayes was a little absent-minded at the moment. All she could think of since this afternoon was the doctor's words. "Congratulations! You are going to be a mom." Suddenly, Mitchel Dixon pinched her arm. His low voice came the next second. "Come back to earth. What are you thinking about?" Mitchel was her husband. They had been married secretly for two years. He was her superior at work, the president of the Dixon Group. Everything had happened so fast. She was newly employed in the company when they unexpectedly got married. At that time, Mitchel's grandfather fell seriously ill. It was then he proposed a fake marriage just to fulfill his grandfather's dying wish. They signed a prenup, agreeing to hide their marriage from the public. Their union could be terminated at any time. It was an unconventional thing to do. However, Raegan only considered herself lucky at that time. Never in a million years did she think she would ever get married to the man she had a crush on for eight years. She delightfully agreed. After their marriage, Mitchel was very busy. He spent most of his time working. Raegan wished she could spend more time with him at home. However, she was rest assured because there hadn't been any rumors or scandals about him with women in the past two years. Except for his mild indifference, Mitchel was a perfect husband. Raegan had mixed feelings as she stared at the medical report. In the end, she decided to tell Mitchel this news. She also wanted to tell him that she hadn't learned about him for the first time two years ago and that she had been crushing on him for many years before then. Just then, Mitchel’s phone rang. He went to the balcony and answered the phone. Raegan checked the time and found that it was already midnight. She felt a little uneasy. Who would call Mitchel at this hour? Mitchel spent a few minutes on the balcony. Thereafter, he returned and changed into formal attire. His handsome face which had a clear outline made him look dignified. He was something to see now. "Don't wait up for me. Good night," he said finally. What? He was on his way out? At this hour? Raegan's grip on the report tightened as she stared at him in disappointment. Unconsciously, she withdrew slightly. After thinking for a while, she blurted out, "It's already so late." Mitchel's fingers froze on his tie. With a faint smile, he pinched her earlobe and said, "Be good, okay? There's something I have to do. Don't wait up." With that, he headed for the door. "Mitchel." Raegan quickly ran and caught up with him. Mitchel turned around and looked at her seriously. "What's the matter?" There was a tinge of coldness to his voice. An icy cloud hung over them as they stared at each other. A little distressed, Raegan asked in a low voice, "I would like to visit my grandma tomorrow. Can you accompany me there?" Her grandmother always wanted to see her. As a result, Raegan wanted to take Mitchel there to assure her grandma they were happy. "Let's talk about it tomorrow, okay?" Without agreeing or declining, Mitchel left in a hurry. Several thoughts were threading Raegan's mind. She couldn't sleep a wink. After tossing and turning for a long time, she went to the kitchen and made herself a warm glass of milk. A few notifications from some online blogs came into her phone. However, she wasn't interested in them. She was about to swipe them away when one of them caught her attention. The familiar name made her click on it. The news read, "Famous designer, Lauren Murray was spotted at the airport with her mysterious boyfriend earlier today." Lauren was wearing a bucket hat. The man's figure was vague, but the outline of his body was enough to show that he was dashing. Raegan zoomed in on the picture. The next second, her heart dropped. Mitchel was the man in the picture! So, he canceled the afternoon meeting just to go pick up his ex-girlfriend from the airport? This realization settled like a boulder in Raegan's gut, rendering her flustered. Her hands trembled. Subconsciously, she dialed Mitchel's number. The dial tone brought her back to her senses. Just as she was about to hang up, the line connected, and a voice came from the other end. "Hello!" It was a particularly gentle woman's voice. Raegan froze for a second and then threw the phone away. She suddenly felt sick in her stomach. Covering her mouth, she ran into the bathroom and threw up in the toilet bowl. The next morning, Raegan went to work on time. Mitchel had tried to get her to stop working after they got married. Stubbornly, she insisted on making her own money. Mitchel didn't kick against her decision, but he asked her to work as his assistant, helping him with the daily chores. The head assistant, Matteo Jenkins was left to take care of the major affairs Mitchel had. Matteo was the only Dixon Group employee who knew about their marriage. Since inception, only male assistants were hired for the president's office. Reagan was the first and only female. Her employment broke the protocol. As a result, other workers couldn't help but wonder if she was involved with Mitchel. It took a while before they realized that Mitchel never gave Raegan special treatment. Strangely, this made them despise her even more. After all, no one would last long in anything while taking advantage of their looks. At this time, one of Raegan's colleagues handed her a document and ordered her to take it to Mitchel's office. Mitchel didn't return home last night. Raegan was so worried that she didn't sleep at all. All she kept thinking about was the woman who answered his phone when she called. What was her relationship with Mitchel? Raegan already knew the answer to that, but she was still in denial. It was difficult for her to come to terms with that fact. Raegan tried to remain calm now. She reasoned that no matter what happened, she deserved a result that would be rewarding for all the years she spent loving Mitchel. This couldn't be all for nothing, right? She pressed the elevator button calmly and went up to the president's office. Before she walked out of the elevator, she smoothed her hair to make sure she looked good. She had arrived at the office, only to see that the door was ajar. A man's voice came. She halted instantly. "Come on, man! Do you have any feelings for Raegan or not?" The voice belonged to Luis Stevens, a childhood friend of Mitchel's. "What do you mean exactly?" Mitchel asked in a cold voice. "You know exactly what I mean!" Luis clicked his tongue impatiently and added, "I think Raegan is a good girl. Isn't she your type?" "Do you want me to hand her over to you?" Mitchel asked carelessly. "You know what, forget it!" The scornful laughter of Luis sounded particularly harsh in Raegan's ears. They were talking about her as if she were an object. Raegan took a deep breath and tightened her grip on the document. Soon, Luis's voice was heard again. "By the way, I saw the gossip news about Lauren's mysterious boyfriend this morning. That was you, right?" "Yes." "Well, well, well! That woman still has you wrapped around her little finger. You always want to please her." Luis sighed and continued to tease Mitchel. "As the old saying goes, absence makes the heart grow fonder. Tell me, did you two..." Their conversation was like a thunder exploding over Raegan's head. Her face turned pale and her body was as cold as ice. The woman was indeed Lauren! Absence made the heart grow fonder! Every word drove a knife into her heart. Several whispering voices filled her head at this time. She suddenly felt light-headed. Her vision became blurry. She held the wall and took a step backward. Suddenly, the door was opened from inside. "Raegan?" Chapter 2 One-sided Love Luis was the one who opened the door. It appeared he was on his way out. Raegan balled her hands, turned to him, and nodded. "Hey, Mr. Stevens!" Without waiting for him to respond to her greeting, she walked past him and entered the office with the document. Mitchel was seated behind a large luxurious desk. In an expensive suit and matching tie, he looked particularly handsome. Raegan noticed it wasn't the same suit he had on when he left home last night. How did he get changed? With her eyes lowered, she swallowed that question and said instead, "Mr. Dixon, this is from the Marketing Department. Please sign it." Mitchel was expressionless as he signed the document at a glance. Raegan walked out the door as soon as he handed the document back to her. Luis was still standing at the threshold. It wasn't until she went out of sight that Luis turned to Mitchel and said in a hushed tone, "Do you think she heard us?" Mitchel's appealing eyes were expressionless at the moment. Obviously, he wasn't paying attention to what Luis was saying. To Mitchel, Raegan had always been docile and never felt jealous of anyone. Her strict obedience was all Mitchel demanded from her in exchange for treating her well. In the elevator. Raegan held her breath just to hold back her tears. Unfortunately, it didn't work. She had thought two years would be enough for Mitchel to realize how much she loved him and reciprocate her love. Now, it turned out that was just a pipe dream. She realized she would always play second fiddle to Lauren, Mitchel's true love. Reagan wiped her tears when the elevator halted. Save for her pale face, she looked normal when the doors opened. She dragged herself to the break room, intending to make herself a cup of tea. Several employees were chatting inside. "Guys, have you heard? Lauren Murray is back." "And who is that?" "Oh, my! You don't know her? Lauren is the heiress of the Murray Group as well as a world-class designer. Most importantly, she's the only girlfriend Mr. Dixon has ever shown off in public. She's his first love!" "Why is her return such a big deal? Isn't it rumored that there is something between Mr. Dixon and Raegan?" "Raegan? She's nothing to Mr. Dixon. Mr. Dixon never admitted that he was dating her. And that is no surprise to me. After all, look at her. She's not even that beautiful. Yet, she behaves as if she's already Mrs. Dixon. What a fool!" Standing at the door, Raegan smiled with self-mockery as she listened to them. It turned out everyone else saw the truth except her. The love was one-sided. "Ha-ha, have you finally woken up from your wild dream, Raegan?" A voice of mockery suddenly came from behind. Raegan turned around to see Tessa Lloyd, Mitchel's cousin, who had always despised her. Tessa must have also heard the employees gossiping. The last thing Raegan wanted to do now was argue with Tessa in the company. She turned to leave, but Tessa blocked her way. With a cup of coffee in her hand, Tessa uttered sarcastically, "Lauren is back now. Do you think Mitchel will still give you any attention?" Raegan said nothing to that. Seconds later, Tessa continued the ridicule. "Maybe it’s time for you to seek out another man, you pathetic fool." Raegan clenched her fists and said coldly, "Ms. Lloyd, if you are interested in that kind of thing, feel free to pursue it yourself." "You..." Raegan's retort made Tessa's face change. The next second, Tessa raised her hand and emptied the cup of coffee on Raegan. Raegan didn't think for a second that Tessa would do something so crazy. She held up her arms just to block the liquid from her face. In no time, the coffee drenched her clothes. Raegan frowned. "What did you do that for? Are you out of your mind?" It was lunch break and many employees were free to watch the drama. Tessa was even more complacent when she saw growing onlookers. She put on a mean-girl look as she said, "What makes you so smug every day, huh? Do you seriously think that others don't know you are just an orphan? The nerve of..." Tessa was silenced by Raegan’s shove. Her jaw dropped to the floor. She had never expected that Raegan, who was so quiet and timid, would shove her. Tessa stuttered, "You... You pushed me? How dare you!" Raegan eyed her and replied, "Yes, I did! It seems you need to be taught simple politeness." Indeed, she lost her parents when she was a child. But that didn't mean she would allow someone to walk over her for it. Wrinkles appeared on Tessa's face as she frowned in anger. As Mitchel's cousin, she was used to being fawned over and respected. This was the first time she had been treated like this. Tessa charged at Raegan like a raging bull, poised to retaliate. This time, Raegan was fully prepared for what was coming. She grabbed Tessa's wrist so that the latter couldn't move another inch. Tessa was shorter than Raegan. As a result, she struggled like an octopus that had one of its tentacles stuck in a fishing trap. Tessa cursed angrily, "How dare you put your hands on me? Who do you think you are?" These harsh words attracted more people to the break room. "That's enough!" Out of the blue, a baritone came from behind. Mitchel had left his office and ran into this hullabaloo. The entire room fell silent. "Mitchel?" Tessa's blood ran cold at the sight of Mitchel. She had always been scared of him. Her mother also warned her against provoking him. But when she remembered that Raegan humiliated her, she put on a pitiful expression and sobbed. "Mitchel, she bullied me." The sunlight from outside fell on Mitchel's handsome face. Raegan felt so grieved all of a sudden, and lowered her head to look at her clothes which were soaked with coffee. Their gaze met in the air. With a deep frown, Mitchel looked at Raegan and said, "Raegan, have you forgotten the rules of the company?" His ruthlessness made Raegan's breathing cease. She couldn't believe her ears. No one dared to make a sound at this moment. Raegan just stood straight there with her slender figure. When she got employed here, Mitchel had told her that the Dixon Group wasn't a place for her to mess around and that he would not tolerate her making any mistakes. Raegan could understand why he took this stand. However, at this moment, she was desperate to know whether Mitchel had heard those hard words Tessa scolded her or he was just pretending not to have heard because he agreed to those words. Was she truly insignificant to him? Scared to death by Mitchel's rage, the crowd soon dispersed. A few employees were bold enough to peep from a distance, unwilling to miss the good show. Mitchel's cold eyes made Raegan shiver from head to toe. Raegan pinched her palm to suppress her emotions as she looked at Tessa. "I'm sorry, Ms. Lloyd. As an employee of the Dixon Group, it was wrong of me to have offended you." Eyeing Raegan, Tessa raised her chin complacently. "Humph! Don't think you'll be let off the hook just by making a simple apology. I don't buy..." "The offence has nothing to do with the company. Personally, I refuse to apologize to you. Now, if you'd excuse me," Raegan chimed in. She then walked past Mitchel without sparing him another look. "You..." Tessa's face turned blue after hearing what Raegan said. Never in her years of being alive had she been so humiliated. She was always the bully, not the victim! The humiliation was so much that scolding Raegan wouldn't appease her anger. Pointing in Raegan's direction, Tessa shouted, "Mitchel, did you hear what that woman just said? She humiliated me, yet she's still so arrogant. Call her back. I have to teach her some manners!" Mitchel, staring at Raegan's thin back, had an ambiguous expression at this moment. "Enough!" he said coldly, raising his hand. As someone who lived and breathed drama and cruelty, Tessa didn't think Mitchel was partial to Raegan just now. She assumed that Mitchel didn't care about Raegan at all. Tessa gritted her teeth and said viciously, "Next time, I'll get someone to teach her a lesson." "Tessa!" Mitchel's tone and squint made it a reproof. Tessa trembled at once. With a somber face, Mitchel said, "I'll only say it once. Forget about what happened here today. Leave Raegan alone." The aura he exuded made her tongue go dry. All the vicious ideas she had in store against Raegan disappeared in an instant. She stammered, "Ok... Okay, got it..." Mitchel cast a cold glance at her and spoke to Matteo. "Irrelevant people wouldn't be allowed in here from today onwards." Without catching the drift, Tessa flattered Mitchel. "Nice call. This is a top company. Not everyone gains access in here." Matteo nodded to Mitchel and then walked over to Tessa. He gestured to the exit. "Ms. Lloyd, this way, please." It wasn't until this moment that Tessa realized that she was the irrelevant person Mitchel just mentioned. She tried to speak to him, but Matteo blocked her way. The security guards then escorted her out. They showed her no mercy. Her struggle was useless. Meanwhile, Raegan got changed when she returned to her office. Her heart was filled with sadness as she thought of how Mitchel looked at her minutes ago. Closing hour soon rolled by. Raegan took her bag and headed for the exit. However, Matteo stopped her. He said, "Mr. Dixon has something urgent to deal with, so he asked me to drive you home." Raegan declined the ride without thinking twice. She was blind before, but now she could see through the situation. In Mitchel's eyes, she was just a nobody. How could Mitchel agree to accompany her to visit her grandmother when he didn't even care about her? Upon arriving at the hospital, Raegan saw that the nurse was about to feed her grandmother dinner. Raegan took the job over and did it by herself. All her life, her grandmother had been living in the countryside, enjoying a quiet life. Everything changed last month when her routine medical checkup showed that she was in need of medical care. Raegan insisted on bringing her to the city for better treatment. Her grandmother wasn't aware of her marriage to Mitchel. Raegan had planned to surprise her today. But as it turned out, that was no longer necessary. Raegan waited for her grandmother to fall asleep before she left. She walked out of the hospital and waited for a taxi. In the distance, a black luxury car pulled into the entrance of the hospital. Raegan's eyes lit up when she saw it. She recognized that car as Mitchel's. Did he come to pick her up? At this moment, she forgot all the pain she had been feeling. Were her thoughts about him all wrong? Did he care for her, contrary to the gossip? The door of the driver's side opened and Mitchel got out. Raegan started walking toward him with her heart brimming with joy. Suddenly, she stopped dead in her tracks. Mitchel had just walked over to the other side and carried a woman out of the car. Worry and compassion were written all over his handsome face. This wiped the smile on Raegan's face. Her heart sank. Chapter 3 Let's Divorce Mitchel's tall and straight figure got closer and closer to Raegan. And then, without saying a word, he strode past Raegan. It was hard to tell if Mitchel saw Raegan or just ignored her. Regardless, Raegan noticed that the woman in his arms was the same one who had been photographed with him yesterday. She was Lauren. Raegan's shoes felt like they were made of lead as she walked away. She lost all awareness of her surroundings. She got into a taxi absentmindedly. Suddenly, the driver uttered, "Ma'am, where to?" Raegan was stunned for a moment. She didn't want to go back to Serenity Villas. It was only a matter of time before that place stopped being her home. After a while, she replied, "Please take me to Crystal Bay." She had purchased an apartment at Crystal Bay after getting married to Mitchel. At the time, she had hopes of bringing her grandmother to the city, so she bought the apartment on mortgage. It wasn't that big, but it had more than enough space for two people. Mitchel didn't understand why she wanted to buy an apartment. He offered to give her a bigger one, but she declined. Looking back now, she realized that buying that apartment was the only wise decision she had ever made in the last two years. When she arrived at the apartment complex, Raegan sat in the park alone, trying to cool herself down. The memories of the past two years were bittersweet. Two years had passed in the blink of an eye even though it was more than seven hundred days and nights. Love could move mountains, they said. Yet, her love didn't move that stone of a man. She finally realized what a fool she had been. She had been making herself a laughingstock in front of everyone. It was already late in the night before Raegan finally decided to go into her apartment. As soon as she stepped out of the elevator, she saw Mitchel standing in front of the door. His sleeves were rolled up casually, and the top buttons of his shirt were undone, which revealed his long neck and part of his collarbone. He was leaning on the wall by the door, his handsome face straight. Raegan froze for a moment. Why was he here? Didn't she see him at the hospital with Lauren? What brought him here? Their eyes met. With his coat draped over his arm and one of his hands in his pocket, Mitchel squinted at her. "Why didn't you answer the phone?" he asked, sounding a little grumpy like someone who hadn't slept in a long time. Raegan took out her phone and saw she had accidentally put it on DND. There were five missed calls from Mitchel. This marked the first time in their two-year marriage. Mitchel blew up her phone because he couldn't find her? Surprising! Before today, she would have been overjoyed by this. People would've thought she won the lottery. But now, she just threw her phone back into her bag, folded her arms, and said in a hoarse voice, "I didn't hear it ring." Mitchel raised his hand to check the time on the watch, and said impatiently, "I've been looking for you for two hours." After arranging everything for Lauren, he returned home to find an empty house. He looked for Raegan everywhere. When he couldn't find her, he asked Matteo to check the surveillance footage of all the roads that led away from the company. He later found out that Raegan went to Crystal Bay without telling him. "Next time, tell me when you are coming here, okay? Let's go home now." After that, Mitchel walked toward the elevator without sparing her another glance. He meant to go back to Serenity Villas. Raegan didn't move an inch. She just stared at his broad back and pondered reluctantly. Would they have a future? Mitchell turned around, only to see that Raegan hadn't taken a single step. He frowned and asked, "Can't you walk? Do you want me to carry you instead?" The light in the corridor illuminated his face, making his side profile almost impeccable. Raegan took a deep breath and said, "Let's divorce." "What do you mean?" Mitchel's voice was cold, and his handsome face changed immediately. "I want to move into my own place. After all, we will be strangers soon." Raegan forced a smile, but her heart was aching as if someone was tearing it apart bit by bit. "We will be strangers?" Mitchel smiled coldly. "Raegan, what do you think our relationship is now?" His questioning left Raegan stunned for a moment. Mitchel had made it very clear to her from the very beginning. This facade of their marriage had happened by mutual agreement. There was no love. In the eyes of others, they were nothing more than just a superior and a subordinate. Mitchel was quite the catch in Ardlens. Many young ladies longed for his love and were even willing to throw themselves at him. His question just now reminded her of that fact. Was he afraid that she wouldn't let him go that easily? If that was the case, he couldn't be more wrong... After biting her lower lip to conceal her bitterness, Raegan said, "I'm sorry, Mr. Dixon. I was giving it too much thought. Anyway, please leave me alone from now on. You don't have to come here again." After saying that, Raegan couldn't help but burst into tears. How could she not be sad when she was cutting ties with the man she had loved for a decade? It was such a long time. Regardless of how difficult it was, she knew it was time to let go. It was high time she stopped being a fool. Strangely, the light in the corridor began flickering. The deathly stare Mitchel was giving Raegan right now made the atmosphere seem like the moment before an attack in a horror movie. Although he understood that Raegan sometimes could throw a tantrum, he felt that she had just crossed the line now. His eyes shone like blazing torches at this moment. But when he saw the tears in her eyes, the rage inside him extinguished in an instant. He said in a low voice, "If this is about what happened between you and Tessa, I..." "No, this isn't about her. Mr. Dixon, please leave now." A lot of things happened between them. And the incident with Tessa didn't come close to any. Raegan felt exhausted. She passed by Mitchel and was about to open the door. Yet, Mitchel was displeased with her stubbornness. He loosened his tie irritably. He then took a step forward and grabbed her wrist. "Stop this, will you?" A second later, he put his arm around her shoulder and pulled her into his arms. He instantly realized that she was burning up like someone who had been set on fire. "You have a fever?" Raegan felt dizzy. She rested her head on his chest weakly. This made the whole situation complicated. Reagan was slow to catch that. When she finally realized that her body was too close to his, she put her hands against his chest and tried to pull back. Before she could escape, Mitchel pulled her back and held her by the waist. With a cold face, he said in a low voice, "Where do you think you are going?" The light flickered again. Out of the blue, Mitchel lifted her up. He then headed for the elevator. In a daze, Raegan asked softly, "What are you doing?" "What does it look like I am doing?" Mitchel remarked. "Taking you to the hospital, of course." "No way!" Raegan cried out in surprise and seemed to regain more strength. Mitchel might find out about her condition if they went to the hospital. Raegan struggled to get out of Mitchel's arms. However, his tight grip made her efforts fruitless. "Don't be so stubborn. You are sick, so you must see the doctor," Mitchel said firmly. He walked to the elevator with her in his arms. At this moment, Raegan's heart was thumping so hard that it could jump out of her chest. She flailed in protest. "Put me down! I don't want to go to the hospital!" | WATCH_MORE | https://fbweb.moboreader.net/46526322-fb_contact-e | Delighted Reading | https://www.facebook.com/100093179042627/ | 8,203 | 0 | 0 | 1969-12-31 18:00 | 0 | 0 | 0 | 0 | 0 | 0 | Watch more | 0 | fbweb.moboreader.net | IMAGE | https://fbweb.moboreader.net/46526322-fb_contact-enj57-1125-core1.html?adid={{ad.id}}&char=066827&accid=1136562474144993&rawadid=120213852496280533 | 1969-12-31 18:00 | https://scontent-lga3-1.xx.fbcdn.net/v/t39.35426-6/462848542_1048010249976270_8513974460271663193_n.jpg?stp=dst-jpg_s60x60&_nc_cat=102&ccb=1-7&_nc_sid=c53f8f&_nc_ohc=8b37DtD1Q7MQ7kNvgFwKVma&_nc_zt=14&_nc_ht=scontent-lga3-1.xx&_nc_gid=AgHIXvF4AI2TjnDvC9On7IC&oh=00_AYAwHID5R3t8c-er3MfG1Gap6fX35FPWm86Y5JIrvb8cPw&oe=6714643A | PERSON_PROFILE | 0 | 0 | 0 | Delighted Reading | 0 | 0 | 1969-12-31 18:00 | View Edit Delete

Yes | 2024-10-15 09:54 | active | 1634 | 0 | Click to watch more exciting content😍👉 | "B*tch! How dare you push Zoey down the stairs? You deserve to die!" At the outdoor swimming pool, a group of people had cornered a delicate-looking girl with a pale complexion. "It wasn't me... I swear it wasn't!" she protested, panic etched on her face. "Lucille Jules! Just because you're the Jules family's little princess, it doesn't mean you can treat Zoey like dirt. She has us, her friends, to protect her. We won't let you get away with this!" A sharp-tongued woman narrowed her eyes and sneered, "Lucille can't even swim. Let's give her a taste of the pool!" In an instant, a group of attractive-looking young men and women closed in on Lucille, their faces twisted with malice. With a forceful shove, they sent her tumbling into the water. Sploosh! Like a wounded bird, Lucille flailed in the water, gasping for air. They gathered around the pool, watching her like a pack of wolves. "Still trying to get out, are you?" one of them taunted. "Hold her down!" Without mercy, they pushed the struggling Lucille back into the water. She fought back with all her might, but it was no use. Her movements grew weaker and weaker until she finally slipped beneath the surface... "Is she not moving anymore? Did we just kill her?" someone exclaimed in shock. "Quick! Pull her up!" another person shouted. The drowning Lucille was dragged to the shore, but then she suddenly opened her eyes and grabbed the neck of the person who pulled her up. She looked just as weak and helpless as before, but there was a chilling glint of bloodlust in her eyes. "Let go of me!" the guy whose neck was grappled by Lucille cried out in fear. The lead girl's face turned pale with anger and she ran over, yelling, "Lucille! You're asking for it!" But before she could even finish her sentence, Lucille swiftly turned and delivered a perfect sidekick, sending her crashing to the ground. Everyone was stunned. "What's happening?" "Is Lucille crazy?" The lead girl, whose name was Jenny Zanes, furiously roared, "What are you waiting for? Beat the hell out of her!" As the crowd closed in, Lucille effortlessly overpowered each and every one of them, tossing them into the pool with ease. When she had dealt with them all, she looked around in a daze, stumbled forward two steps, and then collapsed, her eyes rolling back in her head. ...... The dark enveloped a solitary and fierce young woman. Donning a sleek black suit, she sprinted with all her might. Out of nowhere, a hauntingly long voice echoed from the sky, "Lucille, run for your life. Survive!" Lucille stopped in her tracks, turned around abruptly, and saw a raging fire all around her. Flames danced and spread towards her, swallowing her up. But Lucille remained unmoved. Staring ahead blankly, she uttered a single word, "Mother..." The lady's sorrowful voice reached her again, like the mourning of a cuckoo, every word seemingly filled with tears. "Lucille, in the Jules family, your ancestors were all of great merit and loyalty, with an unyielding spirit. And your father always acted with a clear conscience. Yet, he died an innocent man, so you must live on and clear his name!" "Lucille, you are the only bloodline of the Jules family in Dilsburg. Survive! Bring justice to the wrongly executed souls of the Jules family!" "Escape! Hurry!" The woman's voice turned hoarse and desperate. In the end, it became sharp and piercing. Lucille, tears in her eyes, watched as the woman was engulfed in flames and screamed, "Mom!" In the hospital room... Lucille, lying on the bed, suddenly opened her eyes. All she saw was a blinding white. What was happening? Wasn't she dead? The previous night, she went on a top-secret mission. Unexpectedly, the plan was leaked, and she was surrounded by enemies. After a bloody battle, she barely escaped death. But then, while going to meet her companions at the alleyway, she was shot with a nerve toxin from behind and died on the spot. She never knew who betrayed her until her death. But now, why was she lying in a hospital bed? Could it be that she didn't actually die? Suddenly, she remembered the scene where she brutally beat up a group of rich girls by the poolside... She had truly been reborn! With a loud bang, the hospital door was rudely pushed open. Two nurses strolled in and paid no attention to Lucille who was lying in bed. "Did you hear the news? Last night, Lucille, the daughter of the Jules family in Dilsburg, was executed for committing treason!" "What? The Jules family's daughter was a gifted and accomplished warrior. She followed in her father's footsteps and became a legend for countless victories. Why on earth would she betray her country?" "I don't know, but news about her is everywhere now. After her death, the Jules family in Dilsburg is really gone." Lucille widened her eyes suddenly, and her hand, hidden under the covers, clenched tightly. The Jules family was known for their loyalty and bravery, but who would have thought they would end up like this? Lucille bit her lip hard, two drops of tears escaping her eyes before she forced them back in. No tears allowed! She wouldn't let go of anyone who had ever mistreated or plotted against her or her family. With this second chance at life, she would seek the truth and avenge her family using the enemies' blood. The nurses were chatting animatedly about the latest gossip when one of them had her attention was drawn to Lucille, who was lying in bed with an unnaturally crimson gaze fixed upon the ceiling. Why were this mute's eyes bloodshot? The intensity of her glare was so unsettling that it sent shivers down her spine, and she couldn't help but stare at Lucille in shock and confusion. "How... how..." The long-haired nurse was horrified, her voice trembling as she stared at Lucille. The short-haired nurse, annoyed, turned to look and saw Lucille staring calmly at the ceiling, her expression indifferent. She sneered, "She's mute, anyway." The long-haired nurse let out a sigh of relief as she noticed Lucille's calm expression. She realized that it was just her imagination. "By the way, this young lady from the Jules family is also called Lucille," she said. The short-haired nurse snorted, "Hmph! What is she to be compared to the God of War? She's a worthless nobody who only knows how to bully Miss Johnson. She's not even qualified to carry the God of War's shoes!" Lucille's eyes flickered with a hint of coldness. Just then, the door to the ward opened again. A delicate-looking girl was wheeled in. When she saw Lucille, she furrowed her brows with concern. "Lucille, you're finally okay! Are you feeling any discomfort?" Lucille slowly turned to face the stranger and suddenly, an overwhelming hatred surged within her chest. It was a hate that made her heart race and her breath catch in her throat. Then, a flood of memories that didn't belong to her came rushing into her mind. It turned out that she had been reborn into this girl with the same name: Lucille Jules, the youngest daughter of the Jules family in Shein City. She had been cherished since birth but had her life turned upside down when Zoey Johnson appeared at the age of ten. Zoey was the daughter of a close friend of Howard Jules. When Lucille was ten years old, Zoey was brought back to the Jules family. It was said that Zoey's father died saving Howard, which caused Howard to feel extremely guilty about Zoey and treat her with utmost care and protection. However, since Zoey's arrival, Lucille had been plunged into a painful abyss. Zoey was skilled at deception, always hiding her true intentions behind a smile. She was cunning and manipulative, and had always used any means necessary to take away everything that Lucille cared about. Whether it was Lucille's favorite doll or her beloved group of friends, Zoey always managed to take them away. Eventually, Zoey even took away Howard's affection and earned the unconditional trust and love of Lucille's three older brothers. In the eyes of the Jules family, Lucille – Howard's own daughter and her brothers' sister – gradually became an eyesore and a thorn in their side. Whenever Lucille tried to expose Zoey's schemes in front of everyone, she was scolded and accused of being ungrateful and purposely bullying Zoey. As for Zoey, she enjoyed everything that originally belonged to Lucille. She even accused Lucille of stealing in school, causing Howard to punish Lucille severely and almost beat her to death. After that incident, Lucille was completely heartbroken and stopped rebelling, becoming quiet and submissive. Her grades also plummeted, and she was given the nickname "mute and idiotic". Originally, Lucille thought she would live the rest of her life like this. However, at her 19th birthday party, she unintentionally discovered her fiance and Zoey kissing in the stairway. Overwhelmed with grief and anger, Lucille confronted them and ended up "accidentally" pushing Zoey down the stairs. While everyone was concerned about Zoey's injuries, no one noticed that poor Lucille was being assaulted by Zoey's friends and eventually drowned in the pool. Recalling all of this, Lucille felt an intense resentment building up inside of her, almost suffocating her. She took a deep breath and whispered to herself, "Let it go. I will avenge you." After that, the resentment in her body gradually dissipated. Zoey stared at Lucille's pale face, her gaze darkening. She couldn't help but feel that Lucille seemed different from before. She seemed to have a colder and more piercing look in her eyes. | LEARN_MORE | https://enjoyae.com/wf_land_page/27494.html?langua | Webfic- Make Reading Fantastic | https://www.facebook.com/61552616584831/ | 2,638 | 0 | 0 | 1969-12-31 18:00 | 0 | 0 | 0 | 0 | 0 | 0 | Learn more | 0 | enjoyae.com | VIDEO | https://enjoyae.com/wf_land_page/27494.html?language=en×tamp=1726146835952&channelCode=WAENF1000761&bid=21000206028&utm_campaign={{campaign.name}}&utm_content={{campaign.id}}&ad_group_name={{adset.name}}&ad_group_id={{adset.id}}&ad_id={{ad.id}}&ad_name={{ad.name}} | 1969-12-31 18:00 | https://scontent-lga3-2.xx.fbcdn.net/v/t39.35426-6/459412711_502336146045826_8377217267389775075_n.jpg?stp=dst-jpg_s60x60&_nc_cat=100&ccb=1-7&_nc_sid=c53f8f&_nc_ohc=T0zP5DhqbioQ7kNvgGQnh8f&_nc_zt=14&_nc_ht=scontent-lga3-2.xx&_nc_gid=ADs329nJ8nIJGxG9hMLw59U&oh=00_AYAJoVhgDh812oHweKSupsjo-ZMVxfzfI9rUqRtroOPFEw&oe=671467FA | PERSON_PROFILE | 0 | 0 | 0 | Webfic- Make Reading Fantastic | 0 | 0 | 1969-12-31 18:00 | View Edit Delete

I don't want to go to the hospital!" | WATCH_MORE | https://fbweb.moboreader.net/46526322-fb_contact-e | Delighted Reading | https://www.facebook.com/100093179042627/ | 8,203 | 0 | 0 | 1969-12-31 18:00 | 0 | 0 | 0 | 0 | 0 | 0 | Watch more | 0 | fbweb.moboreader.net | IMAGE | https://fbweb.moboreader.net/46526322-fb_contact-enj57-1125-core1.html?adid={{ad.id}}&char=066827&accid=1136562474144993&rawadid=120213852367320533 | 1969-12-31 18:00 | https://scontent-lga3-1.xx.fbcdn.net/v/t39.35426-6/463014700_1051587883379983_5767516159067337731_n.jpg?stp=dst-jpg_s60x60&_nc_cat=111&ccb=1-7&_nc_sid=c53f8f&_nc_ohc=hqZFV01N4eoQ7kNvgHzlZbJ&_nc_zt=14&_nc_ht=scontent-lga3-1.xx&_nc_gid=AgHIXvF4AI2TjnDvC9On7IC&oh=00_AYD5OZfEnf-fIpx1H-C_rCfGFsh6DDqpn-qYdDVNo7m4tA&oe=67144693 | PERSON_PROFILE | 0 | 0 | 0 | Delighted Reading | 0 | 0 | 1969-12-31 18:00 | View Edit Delete

I don't want to go to the hospital!" | LEARN_MORE | https://fbweb.moboreader.net/46526322-fb_contact-e | Lovestory-hh | https://www.facebook.com/61556199416049/ | 8,166 | 0 | 0 | 1969-12-31 18:00 | 0 | 0 | 0 | 0 | 0 | 0 | Learn more | 0 | fbweb.moboreader.net | VIDEO | https://fbweb.moboreader.net/46526322-fb_contact-enj57-1125-core1.html?adid={{ad.id}}&char=066827&accid=1600823597386213&rawadid=120213238847650687 | 1969-12-31 18:00 | https://scontent-lga3-2.xx.fbcdn.net/v/t39.35426-6/463036268_559908806610118_3676473733521332225_n.jpg?stp=dst-jpg_s60x60&_nc_cat=104&ccb=1-7&_nc_sid=c53f8f&_nc_ohc=Ii3ZIiTJt2QQ7kNvgGW6lTd&_nc_zt=14&_nc_ht=scontent-lga3-2.xx&_nc_gid=A4pFuoV7JKjuwSWYw-WCur2&oh=00_AYAR7IHiZe-2J5GEJo079vFL66E5ofWxWlu4t_luugJksQ&oe=67145046 | PERSON_PROFILE | 0 | 0 | 0 | Lovestory-hh | 0 | 0 | 1969-12-31 18:00 | View Edit Delete

Then, six months later, he told me he’d had a vasectomy a year prior. That was the day my entire world shattered. Five years of my life. Wasted. No marriage proposal on the horizon, definitely no kids. And I refuse to stay in a relationship that isn’t going anywhere. I’m not getting any younger, and I’m not going to let some man steal all of my dreams and my best years. So, I did the only thing I could—I broke up with him and kicked him out of my house. That was three weeks ago. ———————— I stand at the back door of my small house and look at the fenced in yard. When Ryan and I were searching for places to rent in, we’d looked at several apartments, but then my brother recommended this place. I immediately fell in love with it. Ryan hadn’t. But I’d refused to give it up, and so, I’d bought the place myself, without his help. The house is absolutely perfect. With two bedrooms and a rather large kitchen, which is good because I love to cook, the little bungalow is the perfect size for me. Ultimately, the backyard is what sold me, though. The moment I saw it, I imagined a child running around out there. The image had been so vivid; I’d even heard the laughter. Shortly after I signed the papers and started talking about our future, Ryan dropped the bomb that he didn’t want kids. My emotions are still all over the place. Sometimes, at night, when I’m all alone in this house, I miss him so much it physically hurt. Too many nights I cry myself to sleep, or just cry until I give myself a headache, and then I pop some pills and pass out. My beverage collection has dwindled considerably, too. As much as everything still hurts, the urge to call him and beg him to come back, to agree to live without marriage or kids, is getting less and less with each passing day. But some days are worse than others. Today is one of the worse days. The doorbell chimes, startling me from my thoughts. I’m not expecting company tonight, but I’ll be lying if I say I’m not secretly hoping Ryan is here. He hasn’t once bothered to call or come over or even talk to me since I ended the relationship. “Coming!” I go to the door and swing it open. “Oh, hey, Becca. What’re you doing here?” I stop and do a double take. “Why are you so dressed up?” She’s wearing a tight red dress and matching red stilettos. Her makeup is on point, and she looks fantastic. “You’ve been crying again.” Becca walks inside, her heels clicking against the tile floor. “Um, no.” I wipe my cheeks and am happy to see my hands come away dry. I haven’t been sleeping worth trash, though, so I’m sure my eyes are red and puffy. “You didn’t answer my question.” I close the door. “I’m here to take you out.” Becca grins. “Oh no.” I shake my head. Becca’s been trying to get me to go out clubbing since the day I broke up with Ryan, and I keep refusing. I’m not ready to meet anyone new. Not yet. It’s still too soon. “I’m really not in the mood,” I say. “You’ve been saying that for weeks now. It’s time to stop crying over Ryan and get yoursef back up on the horse.” I roll my eyes. “I’m not dressed to go out. Besides, it’s a Tuesday night. You really think anyone decent is going to be out tonight? I highly doubt it.” Becca sighs with frustration. “Listen, you need to get out of this house. I need a wing woman. And we need to celebrate.” “Celebrate what?” I flop down on the couch and tuck my knees to my chest. As soon as I got home from work, I put on a pair of sweatpants and one of Ryan’s T-shirts that he’d left behind. My hair’s in a messy bun on top of my head, and I have no makeup on. I’m in no position—physically or emotionally—to go out. “I got the job!” Becca squeals. I jump off the couch and give my friend a hug. “Oh my god! That’s amazing, Becca. Congratulations!” Becca laughs. “I’m so excited. There’s no way I can stay home tonight.” She pouts and bats her eyelashes in that over exaggerated way she always does. “Please?” I hate when Becca does that. She makes saying no impossible. The fact we’ve been friends since high school doesn’t help, either. With a reluctant sigh, I nod. “All right fine. I’ll go out with you tonight, but promise me we won’t stay long.” “Deal!” Becca shrieks with excitement. “Hurry up and get dressed.” I take about half an hour to get ready, and as I study my reflection in the mirror, I smile. Maybe going out tonight is exactly what I need. Just getting dressed up makes me feel better than I have in days. I leave the bathroom and meet Becca back in the living room. Becca whistles. “Oh girl, you’re a hottie.” I laugh. I opted for my frayed denim skirt and my low-cut black top with sleeves that tie on my shoulders. A pair of black sandals complete my outfit. My clothes are nowhere near as beautiful as Becca’s tight, red dress, but at least I’m comfortable. I grab my purse. “Let’s go before I change my mind.” I playfully shove Becca out the door. We arrive at The Savage Cat, the only night club here, Michigan, and the line to get in is around the block. Lucky for us, I have a fast pass straight to the front of line. The popular dance club is owned by the Savage Bloods Motorcycle Club, of which my brother is the very proud President. I can’t stand that stupid club, or the lifestyle, and I go out of my way to avoid everything involving the Savage Bloods. Unfortunately, when you live in a tiny armpit of a town, you don’t have many choices for entertainment. Becca, however, is fascinated with the Savage Bloods and will do everything she can to hang out with them. She won’t openly admit it to me, but I know she’s hooked up with several of the brothers. She swears she’s never so much as thought about my brother in that way, but I’m not sure I believe that. At a little after ten, the place is already packed, as usual. I push way through the crowd and toward the dance floor. That is why we came here after all. Ryan hates to dance, and even though I always tell him he doesn’t have to get on the dance floor with me, he still refuses to take me anywhere that involves the activity. Memories like those make me grateful that I had the courage to leave him. I really need to learn to hold onto the bad memories and stop dwelling on all the great ones. Dealing with the hurt when I’m angry is so much easier. The music is so loud it rattles the chairs and tables, and the floor is sticky from spilled beverage. But I don’t care. Being out with my best friend, cutting lose, not caring about anything or anyone is freeing. I can’t remember the last time I just had fun like this. Becca grabs my arm and leans forward. “That guy.” Becca points to someone behind me. I turn to see who Becca is pointing at, and I freeze. Leaning against the bar is a man. A very , very muscular, very dangerous looking man. Dark, shoulder length hair. Icy blue eyes. Jeans with a bulging crotch. Black T-shirt that stretches deliciously across his shoulders and chest. My heart races at the sight of him, but more so because he’s staring right at me. But then I notice he’s also wearing a goddman kutte covered with the Savage Bloods insignia. Because of course he’s part of the club. A bottle is pinched between his fingers, and he’s standing there like he owns this place. Cocky arrogance radiates off him, and he clearly owns that. He’s 100 percent pure male. Pure trouble. And one million percent not my type of guy. Yet, I can’t seem to stop staring at him. He’s everything Ryan isn’t, and that excites me in a way I don’t like. I don’t look away, and neither does he. There’s something familiar about him, though, and I narrow my eyes, studying him. Do I know him? That wouldn’t be so far-fetched considering I’ve met everyone in the Savage Bloods at least once before. Still, something nags at the back of my mind. “He’s staring at you,” Becca shouts over the music, jerking me from my thoughts. “You should go talk to him.” “No.” I shake my head. Turning away from his heated stare, I focus on dancing with Becca, but I can feel his gaze on me, feel the way he’s undressing me with his eyes, devouring me. Maybe Becca’s right. Maybe I need to take the plunge and go talk to him. Doing so will certainly get my… I’m not sure I can handle a guy like that. He’s so hard and rough and a tad scary. Not to mention, he’s part of the club, and I swore never to get involved with that life. Just because I’m nursing a broken heart doesn’t mean I need to go catch a raging case of the stupids. And that man could make any woman stupid. I fan my face with my hand, and Becca makes a hand signal that she needs a drink. I nod and follow Becca off the dance floor and toward the bar. Thankfully, when we get there, the uber hot but totally off-limits biker guy is gone. I sigh with relief, prop my arms on the bar, and lean forward, my hips still swaying to the music. “What can I get for ya?” the bartender shouts over the music. “One glass of water and a martini with no olives,” I order, shouting just as loudly. “Hey!” Becca touches my shoulder and then leans close to my ear. “I’m gonna go use the bathroom. Meet you back here.” I nod. The bartender returns and sets the drinks in front of me. “Ten fifty.” I pull out my credit card and handed it to him. “Start a tab.” Becca’s only drinking water tonight because she’s driving—a declaration she made on the drive here because she thinks I need to get drunk and do something I’ll regret in the morning. Then again, that’s how Becca deals with problems. I, on the other hand, prefer to handle things with a tad more emotional maturity. So, I don’t plan to drink too much. I never do when I go out. But still, as the bartender takes the card from my hand, my stomach clenches. Ryan hated when I would start a bar tab. He said it was stupid and not financially responsible. Not that I need to worry about what he thinks anymore, but without him living in the same house with me, my finances are a little tighter than they were last month. A few drinks won’t hurt, though. I push the concerns from my mind and sway my hips to the hypnotic beat. It’s not every day my best friend lands a dream job. Plus, I’m leaving in two days to go spend several weeks at Whispering Creek, my parents’ cabin resort in the Upper Peninsula. I’ll be cut off from Becca and everyone else for close to a month. If that isn’t reason enough to go a little crazy tonight, then what is? Seriously, what is taking Becca so long? I grab the drinks and turn around, intent on meeting Becca near the bathrooms so we can easily spot each other in this crowd. Instead, I slam face first into a wall of hard muscle. Both of the drinks spill, coating my hands, but a majority ends up on the person I ran into. “Oh.” I lift my head, and my heart stops. The man who’d been staring at me now stands in front of me. My face burns with embarrassment. “Uh, yeah, I-I’m sorry.” Some of the liquid splashed up onto his face, too. God, how mortifying! I turn, set the cups on the bar, and grab a handful of napkins, which I then proceed to drop when I spin back around. Real smooth. He shrugs out of his kutte, then strips off his wet shirt, using it to dry his face. The sight of his chest and abs makes my throat go dry. I know I’m staring, but I can’t help myself. Oh, every woman in this place is staring just as intently as I am. As I watch him rub the shirt across his chin, down his throat, and across his pecs, I can feel the lust pooling between my thighs, and I squeeze my legs together to ease the ache in my body . Images of being in his arms—undressed, sweaty, and in the midst of doing things that will get us banned from Heaven forever—dance through my mind. This man is gorgeous. Perfection. A true gift from God. He’s very clearly a bad boy, too, which only adds to his appeal. And he’s nothing like Ryan. I haven’t thought about another man like this in years, not since… My eyes widen, and my heart beats against my ribcage. No. Please, God, no. And then he speaks. “Enjoy the show?” His deep voice rubs against every nerve ending in my body, and my stomach clenches. “Hello, Steven.” My voice is cold and sharp. He blinks in confusion, and then I can see reality hitting him as hard as it hit me a second ago. I cross my arms and glare at him. His jaw drops, but he doesn’t speak. “I see you finally figured out how to stage a successful prison break.” I frown. His lips curl into that much too familiar smile, and my traitorous body reacts in ways I don’t want it to. Then, he laughs, the sound just as deep and masculine and handsome as I remembered. “Good to see you again, Cassandra.” He reaches around me to toss his wet shirt onto the bar, then he slips back into his kutte. The sight of him wearing that reminds me of every single reason why I hate him. Why I swore off the club and everyone involved—including my own brother. He’s the sole reason I got involved with Ryan in the first place, because Ryan’s safe. Practical. Stable. Dependable. “It’s Cassie now,” I say. He raises a brow. “Cassie, huh? I like it.” “I don’t give a word.” I shake my head. “Does my brother know you’re here?” “He’s the reason I’m here. Full pardon. Courtesy of Hothead.” “His name is Harland,” I snap and narrow my eyes, rage boiling in my veins. Honestly, grown men running around calling each other by code names or nicknames or whatever they are is so dumb. How dare my brother help Steven get out of prison and not warn me? Then again, Harland has no idea what happened between me and Steven all those years ago, and if I have my way, he never will. No one will. Not even Becca knows. I take a deep breath, refusing to let Steven get to me anymore than he already has. “Guess that’s one less person on my Christmas list.” I shrug. “Anyway, sorry you invaded my personal space and got all wet.” I smile sweetly and incline my head toward his shirtless chest. He simply stares at me with those eyes that had mesmerized me so much as a teen. They’re so blue, staring at me with an undeniable carnal knowledge. I shiver at the memory of just how much knowledge he has of me and my body. Unable to face him any longer, I crouch down and pick up the napkins I dropped. “Here, I got those.” He lowers himself to my eye level. “Isn’t this beneath you?” I grab a handful of napkins and stand. “Don’t you have groupies back at the club to do this kind of stuff for you?” I slap the napkins onto the bar. “You mean the club cats?” He smirks, and I have the sudden urge to slap that look off his face. “No, I mean the group of strays that follow you guys around in the hopes you’ll toss them a scrap of trash every now and then.” I once again cross my arms, daring him to deny the truth. The club can dress it up anyway they want, but there’s no denying what the club cats are—whores who do the brothers’ bidding and spread their legs with the hope of securing a marriage proposal someday. And I know this because Becca talked to my brother about becoming a club cat. He flat out refused her. Though, to this day, he’s never said why. Steven doesn’t respond, which only enrages me more. I drop my arms to my sides. “Next time you see my brother, tell him to go himself. Courtesy of his baby sister.” I shoulder past Steven, more than ready to find Becca and go home. But Steven grabs my arm, and I freeze. | LEARN_MORE | https://a.weloveread.com/ad/bG92ZXJlYWQvMzI1NDQxLz | Lov001 | https://www.facebook.com/100092415384764/ | 27 | 0 | 0 | 1969-12-31 18:00 | 0 | 0 | 0 | 0 | 0 | 0 | Learn more | 0 | a.weloveread.com | VIDEO | https://a.weloveread.com/ad/bG92ZXJlYWQvMzI1NDQxLzIwMjQxMDE0MTAyNDE3L3BhZ2U=?adid={{ad.id}} | 1969-12-31 18:00 | https://scontent-lga3-2.xx.fbcdn.net/v/t39.35426-6/463148273_932402875238147_5906143700305852004_n.jpg?stp=dst-jpg_s60x60&_nc_cat=101&ccb=1-7&_nc_sid=c53f8f&_nc_ohc=dRMTcpcVdiIQ7kNvgFCGbl6&_nc_zt=14&_nc_ht=scontent-lga3-2.xx&_nc_gid=ATyB-iJp-VTsh8duh2-ylr4&oh=00_AYChNqiqjYcsC6p8Mr1WbvHKBroTIG8QVZJ1Sh4yaqy87g&oe=671450DF | PERSON_PROFILE | 0 | 0 | 0 | Lov001 | 0 | 0 | 1969-12-31 18:00 | View Edit Delete

Yes | 2024-10-15 09:54 | active | 1634 | 0 | Continue to read "Accidental Surrogate for Alpha" 👉 | 💔💔💔My husband cheated on me with my best friend. He poisoned me with contraceptive pills!!! To get my last chance of having a baby, I decided to find a donor, but an accident happened and now I'm pregnant with the most heartless billionaire's baby! And he's a werewolf? #Chapter 1- Betray Ella's POV “I’m sorry Ella.” My physician says gently. “I’m afraid you have very few viable eggs remaining. Frankly, I normally see these numbers in women ten or fifteen years your senior.” “What?” I murmur, not believing my ears. I’ve been trying to get pregnant for years. I’m only 30, I should have plenty of eggs left. “In terms of fertility, you have very little time left.” She continues. “If you want to conceive, you need to do so before your next cycle begins.” “My next cycle?” I repeat, my mouth hanging open in shock. I love kids more than anything, and though it might not be everyone’s ambition, I want nothing more than to be a mother. I have to get home and tell my boyfriend this news, and there’s not a moment to waste. I make it home in record time, bursting through the door and opening my mouth to call for Mike, but stopping dead in my tracks. As soon as I walk inside, I see a pair of high heels and a handbag by the door – neither of which belong to me. I turn my ears towards the bedroom, and my stomach churns when I hear the unmistakable sound, accompanied by a steady thump thump thump, as the bed collides with the wall. Worse even than realizing that Mike is clearly in there with another woman, is realizing who he’s with. I know that handbag, and I know those shoes – they belong to my best friend, Kate. “F. Ella is so stupid.” Mike laughs, “can you believe she actually expects me to have a baby with her?” Kate snorts, “she’s delusional. I don’t know how you put up with her for so long in the first place.” “If she wasn’t so beautiful I never would have given her the time of day.” Mike scoffs. “Thankfully daily doses of plan B kept her from ever conceiving.” “The morning after pill?” Kate asks, “how did you manage to give it to her without her realizing?” “I put it in her morning coffee.” Mike chortles, sounding far too proud of himself. My vision goes completely red as everything finally falls into place. Suddenly it’s clear why I’ve never been able to get pregnant, despite having unprotected s/x multiple times a week for years. It’s even clear how I could have the eggs of a 45-year-old, if my despicable partner has been secretly feeding me emergency contraceptives every day – there’s no telling what other damage that might have done to my reproductive system. Before I can think better of it, I pull the smoke alarm on the wall, wanting to frighten and punish the pair in the bedroom so fiercely that I fear I might attack them when they emerge. Water immediately sprays down from the sprinkler system mounted to the ceiling as a shrill siren fills the air, and I hear Mike and Kate cry out in surprise. A few moments later, they come rushing out of the bedroom, stopping in their tracks when they see me looming in the doorway. Mike’s eyes go comically wide, “What are you doing home so early?” The snake has the nerve to sound affronted that I surprised him, when he’s the one who’s been sneaking around behind my back for God knows how long. He seems to realize how suspicious it looks that he and Kate are standing there in their underwear and quickly adds, “Kate came to see me so we could plan a surprise for your birthday, but then we spilled coffee all over our clothes so we had to change.” Fire blazes in my veins, he must truly believe I’m an idiot if he expects me to buy such a feeble excuse. It’s a testament to their horrifically low opinion of me that they buy my act, and I vow to get my revenge one way or another. I can’t believe I wasted so many years – my best years – on this heartless man. And now he may have cost me my future too. As soon as the thought enters my head, I know I can’t afford to waste another moment on Mike, I have more important things to take care of. I make my excuses and rush across town for the second time that afternoon, running to the comforting arms of my surr0gate sister, Cora. Not only did we grow up together in the orphanage, but she became an OBGYN and now works for the most exclusive spe*m bank in the city. I’ve never gone to her before because I always imagined Mike and I would eventually conceive the natural way, but that clearly isn’t an option anymore. Even if I could find a man willing to have a baby with me in time, I’m not eager to trust anyone after Mike’s betrayal. I’m going to have to do this on my own, and I know Cora can help me. I don’t have much money, but I have enough savings to pay for the insemination, especially since I basically have one shot and one shot only. When I arrive, all my plans to lay out my situation for Cora clearly and concisely go out the window, because the moment I see my sister I fall to pieces. She hugs and kisses me until my tears subside, slowly extracting the story from me piece by piece. When she hears about Mike and Kate she swears up a storm, but that’s nothing compared to her reaction when I explain about my fertility. “That little sh1t! I’ll kill him!” She fumes, studying me with a worried expression. “Ella, if your doctor was right this means you only have one chance to conceive.” “I know.” I sniffle. “And if this is going to be my only baby, I don’t want to take any chances. I want the best donor we can find.” “Don’t you worry about that.” Cora assures me, “We’ve got donations from actors, models, scientists – it’s only the creme de la creme here.” She glances at the door and lowers her voice. “You didn’t hear it from me, but even Dominic Sinclair sent his samples here for testing.” “Dominic Sinclair? I repeat, “the billionaire?” I’ve seen the man around town, but we don’t exactly run in the same circles. He lives in the same neighborhood as my wealthy employer and often says hello to the children I nanny, but he’s always surrounded by bodyguards and is so intimidating I get goosebumps just thinking about him. “Oh my god!.” Cora slaps her hand over her mouth. “I wasn’t supposed to tell you that! I don’t know what I was thinking. Apparently he’s no stranger to fertility issues himself, and he trusted us to handle his swimmers over every other lab in the country. I’ve got his spe*m in the other room at this very moment.” She frets, “But Ella you can’t tell anyone, you have to promise me.” “Of course!” I agree immediately. “I know how important confidentiality is here.” “Thank you,” Cora breathes. “Now, I’m going to give you a dossier of our clients so you can pick a donor, and once you’ve chosen we’ll get you knocked up before you can even blink.” It’s not an easy decision, but eventually I choose a handsome surgeon whose photo practically makes me swoon. Cora leaves the room only long enough to prepare the sample, and though she looks a bit flustered when she returns, she quickly and professionally completes the insemination, holding my hand when the procedure is finished. “It’s all take care of now, Ella.” She promises, “You can come back in ten days to see if it worked.” Ten days. I think dazedly. Ten days to decide my entire future. If only I’d known that by the time those ten days were up, my future would no longer belong to me – but to Dominic Sinclair himself. #Chapter 2 - Be Fired Ella Six days to go. I think, staring at the date circled on my calendar. Six days until I find out if my dreams are finally going to come true…, or if I have to figure out an entirely different plan for my life. I’ve thought about nothing else since Cora inseminated me last week, I’m so anxious to find out if I’m pregnant I haven’t even begun to process Mike’s betrayal. I’m trying to keep a level head, yet I can’t help but imagine my future with this new baby. Try as I might, I catch myself daydreaming about it constantly. I even find myself humming as I get ready for work in the morning. When I arrive at my employer’s estate in the most exclusive neighborhood in Moon Valley – which basically makes it the most exclusive neighborhood in the world, since Moon Valley is one of the most expensive cities on the planet – I’m immediately greeted by two little voices shouting my name in excitement. “Ella!” The next thing I know, 3-year-old Millie is hugging my legs while her older brother, Jake, wraps his arms around my middle. “Good morning love puddles!” I exclaim, returning their hugs. “Are you ready for the museum?” “Yeah!” They cheer, racing out the door without even stopping to put on coats. It takes a bit of wrangling to get them back inside and bundled up for the cold winter day, but before long we set out into the snow. Jake races ahead of Millie and I, impatient to get to the science museum and not seeming to notice that his sister’s tiny legs simply don’t move that fast. Chuckling, I lift Millie into my arms and settle her on my hip. “Goodness, you’re getting too big for this, munchkin.” “Nuh-uh,” Millie grins, “You’re justs too little.” She might have a point. At five foot one, I don’t exactly have the kind of build suited to heavy lifting. I’m in great shape, but I’ve never been particularly strong. “Smarty pants.” I tease, laughing with the little girl. When I look back towards Jake, I realize he’s stopped a few feet ahead of us. My heart skips a beat when I realize why. We’re in front of the Sinclair mansion, and its owner is currently standing in the middle of the sidewalk, his gaze searing me like a firebrand as I approach with Millie. Dominic Sinclair is just about the most handsome man I’ve ever seen, but he’s also one of the most terrifying. With dark hair and piercing green eyes, chiseled features and a body so muscular I could swoon, it doesn’t seem fair he gets to look so good and also be so rich. If I didn’t know better I might think it was his wealth or imposing height that makes him so intimidating, after all he’s at least six foot four, which means he towers over me and everyone else around him. However it’s neither of those things, there’s simply an indefinable quality about the man that I can’t put my finger on, one which screams danger. He gives off this energy that’s so raw and animalistic one forgets there’s anyone else in the room. Taking a steadying breath, I close the distance between us so Millie can say hello. When she greets him, Dominic drags his attention from me and offers her a smile so genuine that it tugs at my heartstrings. As I watch him talk to my two young charges, I remember what Cora told me about his infertility struggles. He clearly loves children, and I feel a wave of empathy for him. If anyone knows what it’s like to yearn for a family of their own, it’s me. Jake is currently showing Dominic his new toy airplane, pulling the matchbox model from his pocket and demonstrating how far it can fly. With a great heave, he sends the toy gliding through the air, only to land in the middle of the street. Before any of us can say a word, Jake races after it, right into the busy road. “Jake no, be careful!” I cry, watching him dart out into the path of an oncoming car but feeling frozen by my fear. Before I can contemplate putting Millie down to go after him, a blur of movement whirrs past my vision. I’ve never seen anyone move so fast in my life. Dominic became little more than a hazy outline of himself, chasing after Jake and pulling him out of the way just before the car slams into them. The vehicle’s tires are still screeching when Dominic sets Jake down beside me, his expression suddenly very stern. “That was very dangerous.” He scolds gently. “You should never go into the street without looking both ways first.” Jake hangs his head. “I’m sorry, I didn’t want my plane to get runned over.” “You are a million times more important than a toy.” Dominic tells him firmly, “and you scared your nanny half to death.” “I’m sorry, Ella.” Jake sniffles, looking up at me with wide eyes. “I know sweetheart, just don’t ever do that again.” I breathe, cuddling him against my side. “Thank you so much.” I say to Dominic, feeling more grateful than I can express. “I have no idea how you moved so fast! It was like something out of a superhero film.” “Must have been the adrenaline.” Dominic shrugs, giving Millie another smile before taking his leave. “Enjoy the rest of your day, and stay out of the road young man!” “Yes sir!” Jake calls after him, pocketing his airplane. “I really am sorry.” He adds to me. “It’s forgotten.” I tell him softly, though I take his hand so that he can’t run off again. “It all happened so fast.” I tell Cora later that night. “I mean the more I think about it, the more amazing it seems. One moment he was there, and the next he was gone. It was like magic.” “Thank goodness Jake is alright.” She replies, but rather than looking relieved, her face is twisted into a deep grimace. Studying my sister’s expression, I realize her grim demeanor is not just about Jake’s near miss. Something else is wrong, and I actually feel guilty for not noticing sooner. “Is everything okay?” Cora frowns, “Not really. But you’ve got so much going on right now, it’s not important.” “Cora, don’t be ridiculous.” I admonish. “What’s going on?” “Well, speaking of Dominic Sinclair,” She begins cryptically, “you know that spe*m he sent to us for testing?” “Yeah,” I confirm, wondering where on earth this was going. “It’s gone missing… and I’m the last person who saw it, not to mention it was in my custody.” She explains, her voice becoming thick with emotion. “Ella, I think… I think I’m going to be fired. And if there’s an investigation I could lose my medical license.” “What?” I exclaim. “What do you mean it’s missing? It can’t just get up and walk away.” “I know, I think someone had to steal it, but there’s no way of knowing who’s responsible. And it looks like I’m going to have to take the blame.” She shares, her eyes shining with tears. “Cora, I can’t believe you didn’t tell me this sooner!” I lament, “They can’t fire you, it isn’t fair.” “You don’t understand, Dominic is one of our biggest donors.” Cora explains. “And he’s furious, he basically wants my head on a platter.” A week ago I might have believed there was no hope for Cora, but seeing how kind and understanding Dominic was with the kids today makes me wonder if he could really be so heartless. Surely if he understood that Cora would never be so irresponsible he’d show some leniency? I have to try and help her. I would do anything for my sister – even begging a ruthless billionaire for mercy. #Chapter 3 - Request Ella Three days to go. I repeat these words to myself as I walk down the street, still preoccupied with my possible pregnancy, even as I prepare to go to bat for my sister. In some ways it's a coping mechanism: I’m about to beg Dominic Sinclair to save Cora’s job, and I need a comforting thought to help me get through this. His bodyguards see me first, and I can see their mouths moving as they watch me move closer, no doubt notifying him of my presence. Approaching nervously behind Dominic, I wonder for the hundredth time if this is a mistake. Who am I to ask a favor from one of the most powerful men on the planet? Shaking myself, I tell the little voice in the back of my mind to shut up – this is for Cora. I might not be brave for myself, but I can be brave for her. “Mr. Sinclair?” I ask hesitantly, feeling my heart pounding violently against my ribcage. He turns around and gazes imperiously down at me. “Yes?” “I’m Ella Reina, I nanny for Jake and Millie Graves.” I begin, gnawing on my lower lip. His dark eyes catch on my mouth, and suddenly I feel like a frightened rabbit in front of a hungry wolf. “I know who you are, Ella.” The sound of my name on his lips sends a shiver down my spine. He speaks the familiar syllables with so much purpose, as if they truly mean something to him. “Oh… well, I don’t mean to be impertinent, but I’m friends with Dr Cora Daniels…”As soon as I say her name, his expression closes off, and some unidentified emotion flashes in his eyes. “She told me she’s in trouble at work, and I know you’re one of the bank’s donors.” I improvise. “I don’t know what Cora is being accused of, but I’m sure she’s innocent. She takes her job incredibly seriously, and she would never do anything to risk her career.” “And what do you expect me to do about it?” Dominic asks ominously. I can tell he doesn’t believe my weak story, his body language has changed completely, and I can feel his rising anger vibrating in the air around us. “I just thought… I hoped that if you had any sway there, you might be able to put in a good word for her.” I finish, feeling color flood my cheeks. I’m both ashamed of myself for such a feeble attempt, but unsure how else to handle such a delicate topic. The last thing I want is to get Cora in even more trouble than before. Dominic’s jaw ticks as he watches me, and the voice in the back of my head urges me to run for it. “From what I’ve heard, your friend made a very serious mistake, and the consequences have been more than appropriate. The best thing she can do now is take responsibility for her mistakes, not sending you to do her dirty work for her.” “I – she didn’t, she doesn’t even know I’m here! I swear.” I plead. “I’ve said all I’m going to say on this matter.” Dominic declares, turning away from me and striding into his house. The door slams shut behind him, and I’m left with his various bodyguards. “You need to leave now, miss.” One of the men announces sharply. “I can’t.” I moan, “he has to understand, she’s going to lose everything!” “We’re not going to ask you again.” A second guard growls, a clear threat in his words. “Please, she’s innocent.” I beg, “you have to –” before I can say anything more, the men grab me by the arms and begin trying to lead me off the property. Feeling truly desperate, I dig in my heels, deciding that my dignity is worth Cora’s entire future. “I’m begging you, if I could just talk to Mr. Sinclair.” “You’ve already talked to him.” The first guard grumbles, “and frankly you’re lucky he was as generous to you as he was. Your friend clearly told you things she shouldn’t.” The next thing I know, they’ve thrown me off the property and onto the sidewalk so forcefully that I lose my balance, tumbling to the ground as tears spark in my eyes. The iron gates slam shut behind me, and I have no choice but to slink off before I can embarrass myself further. Of course, this was only the beginning of my misfortune. When I arrived at work the next day, I found that my keys no longer fit the locks on the front door. I knocked, overwhelmed with confusion, and a few minutes later the door swung open to reveal Jake and Millie’s furious mother. “My keys aren’t working.” I tell her, wondering why she’s glaring at me so fiercely. “They’re not meant to.” She answers coldly, “as of yesterday afternoon, your services were no longer required.” “I… you’re firing me?” I squeak, not believing my ears. “Why?” “We got a call from the neighbors.” She explains haughtily, “apparently you let Jake run into the road the other day where he was almost hit by a car! And then yesterday you were seen making a fool of yourself at Dominic Sinclair’s home – they said his bodyguards had to drag you off the grounds like a common criminal.” “That isn’t fair, that isn’t what happened!” I plead. “Jake through his toy into the road and ran after it, I didn’t let it happen, and what happened with Mr. Sinclair was a misunderstanding.” “I don’t want to hear it.” She hisses. “Now leave before I call the police.” “Please, can’t I at least say goodbye to the kids?” I request, praying she’ll grant me this one kindness. “I’m dialing.” She tells me simply, pulling her cell phone from her pocket. “No!” I raise my palms in supplication, “It’s okay, I’ll go.” For the second time this week, I find myself shamefully retreating through this opulent neighborhood with tears streaming down my face. What hurts even worse than losing my job is the fact I didn't get to explain the situation to Jake and Millie, or see them one last time. I’m sure their mother will tell them horrible things about me, despite the fact that I’ve been lovingly raising for them for the last two years. I know Dominic Sinclair is responsible for this. I don’t believe my ex-boss’s story about the neighbors for one moment. He clearly wanted to punish me, just like he’s having Cora punished. A rush of fury takes hold of me, and suddenly I wish I could punish him somehow. It’s not like me to be so vindictive, but right now it truly feels like my entire life is falling apart, and it’s partly his fault. I spent all my money on the insemination, and without a job I have almost nothing. How am I ever going to afford to have a baby now? I guarantee I’m not going to get a good reference from Jake and Millie’s mother. As if things weren’t already bad enough, when I return home I find a stack of bills in the mailbox and I don’t even recognize half the senders. I open them one by one, feeling my confusion and disbelief grow by the minute. As I look at the stores on the breakdown of charges, my suspicion grows: they’re all Mike’s favorite places. Is it possible he did this behind my back? That he’s been hiding the bills from me for months… or years? I know he’ll deny it if I confront him, which leaves me only one option. I have to call Kate. My former best friend might have betrayed me completely with her affair, but if anyone knows what Mike has been up to, it’s her. #Chapter 4 - Desperation Ella My hands are shaking as I dial Kate’s number. Have I ever been this angry? If I have I certainly can’t remember it now. “Hello?” Kate answers almost immediately, using a sickly sweet tone that screams of fakeness. “Kate?” I state bluntly. “Are you with Mike right now?” There’s a pregnant pause on the other end of the line, before she weakly responds, “What? Of course not.” “Come off it Kate, do you really think I don't know about your sh1t?” I demand. “I’m not a complete idiot.” “Ella listen–” She begins, obviously gearing up to give me some sort of excuse. “No, I don’t even care about your little affair anymore – but I need to talk to him right now.” I declare fiercely. There’s another pause, and then Kate’s voice drops its innocent tone. “You don’t care?” She repeats, sounding truly shocked. “ You know I’m already pregnant?” I wasn’t prepared for that particular piece of news. I clench my hands into fists, feeling so furious I think I might actually break the phone with my tight grip, “And what, you think that’s some sort of victory?” I bite. “Does he know you’re pregnant?” I ask sharply, “because a man who’s so afraid of responsibility that he’d poison me for years is probably willing to do it to anyone.” “Well no, but he loves me, he would never –” She tried to explain. “He loved me too once.” I cut her off. “At least he said he did. It’s amazing how charming he can be, considering what a shameless person he truly is. How do you think he’s going to support you and your child? He doesn’t even have a job.” “Of course he does!” She objects, “He just didn’t tell you about it because he didn’t want you to bleed him dry. He’s a stock broker.” “Oh Kate,” I sigh, “Poor, gullible, stupid Kate. He’s as much a stock broker as I am a wizard.” “Don’t talk to me like that! He’s got money, he lavishes it on me all the time!” She insists. “With fraudulent credit cards he took out in my name!” I shout, losing my temper completely. “What?” She squeaks. “That’s right. I’ve only just found out – he’s completely bankrupted me. I’m calling the police and if I were you, I’d check your own credit rating immediately, because I’d be willing to be you’re next.” I snap. “No,” she repeats weakly, “you’re wrong, it’s different with me.” My voice is getting thick with emotion now, but I can’t help it. “And frankly I don’t really care what happens to you Kate, but if you’re really pregnant then your baby deserves better than to be raised in a homeless shelter, and that’s exactly where Mike will land you.” I hang up before I start crying, not giving her a chance to respond. Why did I buy his lies about looking for work for so long? He crushed me little by little, all the while pretending to be so nice, and I let it happen. Never again. I decide. I won’t ever let myself be fooled that way again. I still want to get my revenge on Mike, but first I’ve got to try and salvage what’s left of my life. I have to go to the police and see if I can resolve these financial issues… I can’t have a baby if I’m bankrupt, and I can only pray the police will help. “I’m very sorry Miss. Reina, but if your ex-partner has left the area, there’s not much we can do about this.” The police officer breaks this news to me about as gently as he might smash an ant beneath his boot. “I’ll give you the police report to send to the credit card company, but that’s the most help you’re going to get from us.” Anger fills me to the brim. I guarantee he’d never treat my case with so little consideration or respect if I wasn’t an impoverished nanny. If I was a wealthy man like Dominic Sinclair, he’d be fawning at my feet, offering to go to any lengths to solve my problems. I storm out of the station before I can lose my temper, immediately calling the credit card companies. One by one they crush my hopes, telling me in no uncertain terms that unless a culprit is arrested in my case, I’ll be held responsible for the charges. As I hang up on the final call, I can feel the earth crumbling beneath my feet. How did it come to this? I literally have nothing. No one will hire me without a recommendation from my previous employer, which means I won’t be able to pay rent or keep food on the table. Normally I might turn to Cora in such a time, but I can’t burden her with this when she’s in the same boat. Tomorrow I’ll finally find out whether or not I’m pregnant, and up until now the strange sensation I’ve been experiencing the last few days has been a comfort and source of hope. I don’t know how to explain it: it’s as if I’m suddenly different somehow – even though I can’t see any changes, I just have this intense knowing that I’m no longer the same woman I was a week ago. I thought it was a sign the insemination worked, but now I’m praying that it’s my imagination going overboard. At first I try to distract myself, turning on the TV and freezing when I see Dominic Sinclair on the news talking about all his good will initiatives in the community. “When our work is finished, the Moon Valley children’s home will be a place of love and community, motivated to find the best homes for every child in need...” So much for the supposed philanthropist, I think bitterly. Turning a blind eye to the lives he’s selfishly ruining all the while pretending to be a friend of the downtrodden. A week ago I might have been touched by such a broadcast. I grew up in an orphanage, and I know just how terrible the conditions can be. Now however, I see nothing but his hypocrisy. Cora was an orphan too, she didn’t do anything wrong – where is his compassion for her? Clearly it’s only for the TV cameras. It’s a shame. He’s very convincing… then again, so was Mike. Of course Mike was never as handsome as Dominic Sinclair, nor did he ever have his charisma or imposing presence. I don’t know if I’ve ever met anyone like him. Even while he was refusing to help me, scolding me and having me thrown out the door, part of me was still taken in by his handsome features and pure magnetism. Shaking myself, I turn the TV off. What is wrong with me? The man is a heartless billionaire and I’m still sitting here mooning over him like a silly schoolgirl. I end up going to bed early, trying not to think about tomorrow. Of course, I still lie awake late into the night – I know what it means to grow up an orphan, and I can’t countenance bringing a child into the world just to abandon it to that bleak existence. The more my life unravels, the more stark my options become. If I am pregnant… what should I do? #Chapter 5 - Pregnancy Test Ella Today I will know if I'm pregnant. Ten days ago I was heartsore but optimistic for the future, yearning for a baby more than anything else in the world. Now I’m dreading the exam. However my trepidation soon gives way to surprise, because as soon as I enter the facility I have the strangest feeling that Dominic Sinclair is near. It takes me a while to actually find him, behind closed doors with Cora’s bosses in a luxurious, glass-walled conference room, but I don’t have the faintest idea how I knew he was present. I also don’t understand why I feel drawn to him: after all, he’s ruined both my sister’s and my own life. I shouldn’t be excited to see him. Shaking myself out of my trance, I continue down the hall, though I feel the weight of dark eyes on my back as I retreat. Cora has clearly been crying when I arrive. Her eyes are red and her cheeks splotchy, though she tries to hide it. “Hey.” I greet her gently, wrapping her up in a hug. She leans into me, squeezing tight and lingering far longer than she usually would. “Is there any news?” “Sinclair is in there finalizing it all now. I’m going to be given formal termination notice this afternoon.” She shares, sniffling slightly. “I’m so sorry, honey.” I croon, rubbing her back. “It’s okay.” She lies, pulling away. “How are you hanging in there?” “Not very well.” I confess. “I’m sort of dreading this, to be honest.” “It’s amazing how fast things can change, huh?” She asks, looking as though she might burst into tears. “I mean, what are we going to do, Elle?” “Well figure it out.” I promise. “We’ve been in tight spots before.” I remind her, “remember the summer we slept in boxes on the street after we ran away from the orphanage?” “Yeah,” She nods with a sad smile. “But it’s winter now, I don’t think we’ll last long in the elements. And you weren’t pregnant then.” “Yeah well, if I’m pregnant now….” I can’t look her in the eyes as I say this, “I don’t think I’m going to stay that way.” “What?” Cora exclaims, looking horrified. “But this is your only chance! And we aren’t completely hopeless, you’ve got time to try to figure out a plan B.” That phrase alone reminds me of Mike, and I realize I haven’t shared my latest news with Cora. “I can’t afford a baby even if I do find a job. I’m going to be paying off my debts for years to come.” I share, filling her in on the details of Mike and Kate’s latest betrayal. “I can’t believe this!” She bursts out when I’m finished. “It just isn’t fair, Ella! I mean, after everything we’ve been through, we deserve a better future than this! You deserve to be a mom – no one loves children more than you do.” “And you deserve to be a doctor.” I reply. “You worked so hard.” “Let’s just find out if I have to make that decision in the first place.” I state, changing the subject. “I may not even be pregnant.” Yet even as I say it, I can feel in my heart that I am. “Okay.” Cora agrees, pulling a sterile cup wrapped in plastic from one of her cabinets. “You know what to do.” I take the cup and quickly duck into the bathroom to provide a urine sample, returning it to her almost immediately. I pace back and forth across the office as Cora runs the tests. “Well?” I press, seeing the results pop up on her computer screen. She offers me a sad smile. “Congratulations little sister, you’re going to have a baby.” I told myself that I wouldn’t fall to pieces no matter the results, but as soon as the words are out of her mouth I’m crying. I’ve been waiting to hear those words for years and was beginning to think I never would. It’s both unimaginable joy, and unimaginable pain. I never knew my heart could hold such conflicting emotions at the same time, let alone in such extremes. “Really?” “Really.” Cora confirms, hugging me. “Come on, let’s do an ultrasound. You can hear the heartbeat.” “Isn’t it too early?” I squeak. “Just one of the benefits of being at the finest lab in the country.” Cora quips, the words bittersweet in her tongue. “Our technology is years ahead of what’s available in public hospitals.” Climbing onto the raised exam table, I lay back and lift my top, not bothering to change into a gown or cover my clothes with a sheet, I simply expose my flat belly as Cora wheels in an ultrasound on a cart. Within minutes, the machine emits a strange whoosh woosh woosh, and Cora squirts a dollop of jelly on my tummy. She pressed the wand to my skin, and before long a tiny heartbeat sounds – making me cry all over again. However Cora is frowning deeply. “This is so strange, the baby seems awfully large, but we tested you at your last visit to be sure you weren’t already pregnant.” “What does that mean?” I ask anxiously. “Is the father just a big guy?” “I don’t just mean size – I mean development.” Cora purses her lips and furrows her brows as she studies the images, suddenly looking very worried. She’s whispering now, speaking to herself more than to me. “It doesn’t look human… but that can’t be… it’s not possible.” “What are you talking about?” I inquire, “How can you tell? Isn’t it just a tiny blob?” “As I said, our tech is state of the art. It doesn’t just highlight shapes - it analyzes the molecular structure.” Before she can say another word, the door bursts open, startling us both. To my shock and horror, Dominic Sinclair is standing in the doorframe, glaring at us as if we’ve done something terrible. “What’s the meaning of this?” He demands. “What’s the meaning of this?" I repeat in shock, “what’s the meaning of you barging into a private exam?!” “Because,” He declares fiercely, and I swear his eyes are almost glowing with rage. “I can smell my pup.” 👇👇👇 There are limited chapters to put here, click the button below to open Literie to continue reading"Accidental Surrogate for Alpha" (It will automatically jump to the book) | DOWNLOAD | https://website.metronovel.com/share/middle/xxntd2 | Julian Murphy | https://www.facebook.com/61561478104496/ | 2 | 0 | 0 | 1969-12-31 18:00 | 0 | 0 | 0 | 0 | 0 | 0 | Download | 0 | website.metronovel.com | VIDEO | https://website.metronovel.com/share/middle/xxntd2piv4oeysaooeh0lpei?campaign_id={{campaign.id}}&adset_id={{adset.id}}&ad_id={{ad.id}}&campaign={{campaign.name}}&adgroup={{adset.name}} | 1969-12-31 18:00 | https://scontent-lga3-1.xx.fbcdn.net/v/t39.35426-6/463014603_510295568497802_4992918252838084596_n.jpg?stp=dst-jpg_s60x60&_nc_cat=102&ccb=1-7&_nc_sid=c53f8f&_nc_ohc=KZkSXz1k1u8Q7kNvgF6AIY8&_nc_zt=14&_nc_ht=scontent-lga3-1.xx&_nc_gid=AlyaeyJtfhwLQ9wGBrvveLd&oh=00_AYCtMzLEgIai-TraGKx_eQ969WA_yH09XALIM2zO1nE-dQ&oe=67144756 | PERSON_PROFILE | 0 | 0 | 0 | Julian Murphy | 0 | 0 | 1969-12-31 18:00 | View Edit Delete

| LEARN_MORE | https://novelmates.readlife.mobi/4u9l6i45jg0.html | Top novels | https://www.facebook.com/61561012736675/ | 132 | 0 | 0 | 1969-12-31 18:00 | 0 | 0 | 0 | 0 | 0 | 0 | Learn more | 0 | novelmates.readlife.mobi | VIDEO | https://novelmates.readlife.mobi/4u9l6i45jg0.html | 1969-12-31 18:00 | https://scontent-lga3-1.xx.fbcdn.net/v/t39.35426-6/463017128_523179363647418_2348010501751641569_n.jpg?stp=dst-jpg_s60x60&_nc_cat=110&ccb=1-7&_nc_sid=c53f8f&_nc_ohc=qtvC4agoBZoQ7kNvgG51xhp&_nc_zt=14&_nc_ht=scontent-lga3-1.xx&_nc_gid=A6fpUm78R7oz0l8DUy1Zi08&oh=00_AYAWCeX3CBwHal0bw6avRMb1JuEnKudF73soVLXGs6CKPQ&oe=671455F3 | PERSON_PROFILE | 0 | 0 | 0 | Top novels | 0 | 0 | 1969-12-31 18:00 | View Edit Delete |
