No | 2025-02-28 00:43 | active | 2652 | 0 | đđĽClick to Read more aboutđ<The Rejected Rogue Luna>đ | âThis is such a pleasant surprise, Sethâ I croon, running to meet my mate. It has been so long since I have seen him last and I miss the familiar scent of him and his laughter. I throw my hands around him but he does not hug me back. If anything he seems like he does not want me to be here. âI had no idea you were throwing a party for my homecomingâ I tell him, kissing him slightly on the cheek. âI had no idea you were back, Rowena. You should not be hereâ He pushes me, holding me away from his body. âDid you not get my letter?â I ask, my smile falling from my face. âWhat letter?â He grunts. âThe one where I told you I will be coming back today. You missed my graduation and I thought to surprise you by returning but it seems you did not knowâ My feet grows cold at this information and I back away from him. He is staring at me, his eyes not giving the usual warmth that I am used to. It could only explain why he had not responded to any of my letters for the past months. I gave excuses that he must be busy as Alpha and head of the pack and he could not write to me but⌠Seth de Beaufort, my childhood friend and mate was staring at me like I was some stranger. âWho then is the party for?â I ask. I am interrupted by cheers erupting from the members of our pack and then I see her walk in, holding freshly picked flowers in her hand and a crown on her head. I know who this is, she is my best friend, Isobel but what is she doing? I am pushed back into the crowd as she approaches. She is yet to see me as she only has eyes for Seth who is smiling back at her. âHello mateâ I hear her whisper. Mate? I gasp. I push forward, stopping her approach. âRowenaâ She jolts. âWhat are you doing here?â She glances at Seth who shrugs his shoulders. âI should be asking you that question, donât you think? What are you doing?â I cry out. âI am getting engagedâ She smiles brightly at me. âIt is great that you are here, maybe you could be my chiefâs bridesmaid?â âYou have got to be jokingâ I scoff. âNot now, Rowena. We will talk about this afterâ Seth stops me, putting out a hand for Isobel. âNoâ I raise my voice, my insides shaking with confusion. I cannot believe my eyes as I watch them turn to me. âWe have to talk about it nowâ I tell him, braving the stares I am getting from every member of the pack. âOkay, if you want to do this here then that is fine by meâ Seth growls, stepping away from Isobel and approaching me. âSeth, what is the meaning of this? We are mates⌠you can still feel it so why?â âI, Seth de Beaufort reject you, Rowena Stuart as my mate and future Lunaâ He declares. âNo, stop it please⌠do not do thisâ I grunt, my chest tearing apart with pain. I double over, clutching my pounding heart. âAccept the rejection!â He spits. âAccept it and leave so that I might have a great day with my true mateâ He announces. âI, Rowena Stuart⌠accept your rejectionâ My chest eases up a little bit as I say this but I cannot stop the tears gushing from my eyes as I watch them walk up, smiling into each otherâs eyes. I feel betrayed by every single step and every single smile. To think I was coming back to my fiance and my best friend and they were doing this behind my back. I turn around, dashing out and into the dark, my eyes blinded with tears. This should not be happening. I collapse to the ground outside the party, my heart beating rapidly like it is about to burst. I do not turn around even when I hear the patters of feet until a throat clears behind me. âRowena, IâŚâ âHave you not done enough, Isobel?â I rise to my feet and face her. She has a smirk on her face âHow could you? I trusted you, you are my best friend!â I cry out. âIt is hardly my fault that Seth took a liking to me while you were away pursuing the career of your dreams.â she scoffs at this. I had gone to learn modern healing and had been supported by every member of the clan, including Seth. âWho do you think comforted him on the nights when he was alone and needed company?â I make to slap her but she catches my hand in the air, throwing it back at me. âThis is the least of your problems, I promise youâ She tells me instead. âWhat is that supposed to mean?â I ask âDid you come here straight from the airport?â She throws her head back to laugh. I did come there straight because I thought⌠âWhat do you mean?â I ask her again. âI donât know, friend. You should probably run along home now before it is too lateâ She turns around and walks back into the party. I stand there in confusion not understanding what her talk was about. I move however, heading straight to my home with her warning ringing in my ears. I can hear screaming coming in the direction of my home which only speeds my steps. âWhat is happening?â I mutter, running inside. Sybillia, my sister has tears streaming down her face and her clothes torn to shreds. âWhat happened, talk to meâ I shake her. âFather was takenâ Her voice broke. âTaken?â I ask, confusion dotting my forehead âThey say he is a traitor and they are going to kill him, Rowena. You have to do something.â She holds me, crying some more. âWhere is mother?â I ask her. She shakes her head in the negative which told me that she had no idea where our mother was. âListen, Sybil⌠I need you to find motherâ I shake her again. âDo you hear me? I want you to find her and then I want you both to hideâ I tell her. âWhat are you going to do?â She asks. âI need to find out what is going onâ I mutter vaguely. I turn around and exit, heading back to the party where I burst in regarding Seth with baleful eyes. He notices me immediately and rolls his eyes but I approach, stopping when his guards block my path. âMy father, what has he done?â I ask, my voice breaking. Seth, my one time lover and mate regards me with disgust, his lips quirking up in a sneer. âHe is a traitor and for that he must dieâ Screams of hate ROWENA âThat is a lieâ I scream. There are murmurs everywhere by members of the pack and I know they must think that I have lost my head coming here and yelling at the Alpha of the pack but I am too far gone to understand what I am doing. âI will allow you leave this place and we will speak when my party is overâ Seth warns me. âI want to know what crimes my father has committed for you to lock him upâ I repeat. âLook at herâ Isobel grunts, turning to Seth. âShe does not respect you, my love. Tell me how she is going to remain in this pack if she is this defiant towards youâ She mutters. Sethâs eyes darkens as he rises to his feet, pointing a hand towards me. âYou dare speak back to your Alpha?â He snaps, approaching me. I do not take a step back even as I am intimidated by him. It is as though we are now enemies because I do not recognize him anymore as the man I used to be in love with. âYour father has admitted to his crimes and come noon tomorrow, he will be beheaded as a traitor and so will your motherâ He announces The crowd cheers again âYou will denounce them, yourself and your sister or you will leave me no choiceâ âI cannot do that⌠I cannot-â âAnd for the crime of speaking back at me, Rowena Stuart⌠you will be reduced to the life of a maid and you will serve Isobel who is going to be my Lunaâ My friend smiles, clasping her fingers together. âGuardsâ Seth calls The door swished open again and they enter. âGet her out of her and make sure to keep her locked up until she denounces her bloodline. Make the announcement that I shall be marrying Isobel Howard tomorrowâs noon after the execution of Grant and Helena Stuartâ He declares. âNoâ I rave, trashing as both men drag me out of his tent. They are laughing at my struggle and then I hear the loud thunk of the metal gate leading to the dungeons. I am thrown into it, flung like useless waste paper. I do not know how long I am in that dim pit before the doors burst open and I hear the fall of footsteps approaching where I lay. âRowena?â A voice calls out. I recognize it immediately as Isobel and wonder what she wants. âWhat the do you want?â I rave, my eyes red from all the crying I have been doing the past hour. She is standing in front of me now, her lips quirked up in a smile. âI hate youâ I snap. âWhat do you hate me for? For sleeping with her fiance or reporting your parents forâŚâ She pauses as my eyes widens in realization. âOopsâ She laughs. âYou are a slut who moved on her friendâs man almost immediately sheâŚâ âAlmost immediately?â She stops me, scoffing. âHave you been so utterly blind, Rowena?â Rowena, I think⌠she used to call me Row but I guess when you betray your friend, you do not get to use pet names any longer. âSeth and I have been together before you both began dating. The engagement to you was his fatherâs idea⌠you do not think he wanted to get married to you, did you?â She asks. âWhat are you talking about?â I mutter. She laughs then, her voice grating on my ears. âYou have always had a stupid crush on Seth, always saying he will be your mate and so when you claimed he was your mate and your wolf hasâŚâ âI claimed?â I stop her. âSeth is my mate!â I scream at her âBut he is also mine!â Isobel screams back at me. âYou are lying, that is not possibleâ âIt is rare but not impossible and that is what we are going to tell the members of the pack. They are going to hear that my wolf has mated with his and he has rejected your bond because of your family. They are going to accept me as Luna of the pack and if you want to save yourself then you will accept Sethâs offerâ âYou plotted this, didnât you? You plotted this treason and you somehow roped my family into itâ I accuse. âWhatever are you talking about, dear girlâ She mocks, her eyes wide with innocence. âGet outâ I snarl, my eyes blue with rage. âYour parents have been arrested but we are yet to catch Sybillia. Where did you send her?â She questions. I am confused at this because I know I sent Sybil to find our mother and so if they have both been arrested then she is supposed to be with them. âI have no idea where she isâ I mutter. âYes you do and you are going to tell me. Tomorrow is my wedding and I am not going to have you ruin my chances at being Luna of this packâ My lips curve up in a smile but I say nothing. âWhere the is she?â Isobel asks again, approaching me. âI have no ideaâ I repeat. She stares at me, the anger evident in her gaze. âYou will pay for thisâ She declares right before walking out and leaving me in the darkness. I do not know how long the night lasts but the doors open again and I hear a tumble and then a yelp. âWhoâs there?â I mutter. âRowena?â I hear my sister. âSybil?â I ask, scampering to my feet. âHow are you here? I thought you somehow escapedâ âI was caught. They have mom and dad and they⌠they are going to kill themâ She cries out. âCome hereâ I mutter. I put my hand out through the opening and touch my sister, our hands connecting and holding. I can feel her panic and I am sure she can feel mine too. âEverything will be alrightâ I reassure her. âWhat are we going to do?â She asks me. âWe have to do somethingâ âWe ask the moon goddess for helpâ I tell her. We both close our eyes and begin praying to the moon goddess. I feel peaceful for the first time since our ordeal began and so I close my eyes, my hand still intertwined with my sisterâs and I drift into sleep. ⌠âDrag her out!â The loud boom of voice arouses me from my sleep. I hear screaming right before my sister is yanked from my grasp. âNo, leave her aloneâ I yell. The door to my prison is also opened and I am dragged out too. âLeave my sister the âŚâ One of the guards back hand me across the face and blood spurts out of my mouth. âShut your mouth, cuntâ He snaps. I can still hear her screams as I am led out into the open with members of the pack staring at me with disgust evident on their faces. I stare back, refusing to lower my gaze. I am not a traitor and neither is any member of my family so why should I be ashamed? I am pushed forward until we come to the clearing and I see Seth and Isobel both seated with my father and mother kneeling. They are tied up and I can see that they have both taken beatings but I do not see Sybillia anywhere. âWe are gathered here today to sentence Grant and Helena Stuart for the crime of dabbling into the dark artsâ Seth announces. The crowd cheers and I can feel the bile rising in my mouth at the sound of their hooping. They are happy, I think. I knew we were hated but I did not think they would be happy to see us die. Where is my sister? Where was she taken? I think to myself. âHow do you both plead?â Seth roars, rising to his feet. My father says nothing and so does my mother. âI will spare both your daughters if they denounce your family right this minuteâ He declares. There are hushed protest about this but no one dares say anything to counter the Alpha of the pack. I can see that my father is about to speak up but we are interrupted by a commotion and sounds of running. I turn around, my eyes happening upon Sybillia who is holding a crossbow aimed at Seth. She has blood running from the center of her legs and I can see that she can hardly stand. âNoâ I scream, rising to my feet to stop her but I am held back by the guards. âYou assholeâ She pants. âYou cannot do this, Sybil⌠it is treasonâ I scream, tears streaming down my face. âPut the crossbow down, Sybilliaâ My fatherâs calm voice comes through. My sisterâs eyes are bright as she stares pointedly at Seht who has not breathed a word and then she drops the crossbow. I heave a sigh of relief at this while the guards grab the weapon, taking it away from her grasp. There is still a hushed silence, like everyone was waiting for a reaction from the Alpha with bated breath. I turn to Seth, his eyes are black with rage and I know there is trouble. âDo itâ I hear him say. Do what? I am confused but I follow his eyes to where my sister remained standing. I see the swing of the sword too late as my sister is cut down. There is a scream, a tiny high pitched scream⌠I realize it is me screaming before I pass out. | LEARN_MORE | https://www.novel-oasis.com/share/middle/e34twsogm | Le | https://www.facebook.com/100092986922851/ | 73 | 0 | 0 | 1969-12-31 18:00 | 0 | 0 | 0 | 0 | 0 | 0 | Learn more | 0 | www.novel-oasis.com | VIDEO | https://www.novel-oasis.com/share/middle/e34twsogmjo1gayqwqbdyfxa?ad_id={{ad.id}}&sid=120218686119320112&campaign={{campaign.name}}&adgroup={{adset.name}} | 1969-12-31 18:00 | https://scontent-iad3-1.xx.fbcdn.net/v/t39.35426-6/468180418_1609939326266995_5733443780255539934_n.jpg?stp=dst-jpg_s60x60_tt6&_nc_cat=102&ccb=1-7&_nc_sid=c53f8f&_nc_ohc=iF-TRuQVMeQQ7kNvgHA1VZT&_nc_oc=AdifaPrxMnoazuisr_esXaPLlt9olaLYlzcKbiwBvVh7IvNwDDm7T09s5Qg8sH86m3FXHylo0lqra21fxsDSkyhP&_nc_zt=14&_nc_ht=scontent-iad3-1.xx&_nc_gid=Ald42E2Gtm8r4naoqOOpqCy&oh=00_AYAADPhYZZ8AO8R3SAp6L7TNTaIkWN1tuMreA7BxsyiocQ&oe=67C7366F | PERSON_PROFILE | 0 | 0 | 0 | Le | 0 | 0 | 1969-12-31 18:00 | View Edit Delete

An ex-assassin must fight to become a dragonrider... | This is where I would dieâby the blade of those who had created me. âH-Hurry up and do it!â I spat, tasting blood in my mouth with every halting, broken word. "KILL ME!" I squinted up at the nearest of my former comrades. Even with his cowl up and his face smeared with a swipe of black paint to hide his features, I could see his eyes studying me. Like he was trying to make up his mind to attack or not. Maybe he thought this was a ruse. A trick to get him to drop his guard. His gaze narrowed, grip tightening on the scimitar he carried. He took a step toward me. A sound ripped through the night, making us all pause. Something boomed through the dark. The low, rhythmic thumpâthumpâthump of mighty wing beats coming closer. Massive. Powerful. Was that ⌠a dragon? I couldnât get up or move except to roll onto my back. The rain stung at my face and forced me to close my eyes. But I could still hear the thundering of a mighty roar in the air. The earth flinched under my back as the dragon landed. Its angry snarl, and the sudden WHOOSH of roaring flames when it breathed fire, drowned out the storm. The few remaining assassins screamed in terror. Their footsteps sloshed and slurped in the mud as they fled past me. The twang of crossbow fire made the beast bellow again, and another burst of flame exploded into the night so close I could feel the heat against my cheek. Then it all went completely silent. The shouting. The dragonâs roaring. Even the rain seemed to have stopped stinging at my face as I lay there, shaking in the cold mud. Slowly, I forced my eyes to open ⌠⌠and stared straight into the face of a dragon I didnât recognize. Crouched down low, the beastâs wings shielded me from the storm as it craned its large head down and sniffed at my face. Blasts of hot breath stirred in my wet hair and it snuffled all over my head and chest, bumping me with the end of its short, black-and-red-scaled snout. Its scaly ears perked and swiveled as it made low, almost worried murring sounds. W-What? What was this? Who was this creature? And where was its rider? I kept waiting for someone to appear, a dragonrider in shining armor to clean up any remaining assassins that hadnât already fled. But no one came. Squinting up at the dragonâs back, I couldnât see that it was even wearing a saddle. A wild dragon, then? No. That didnât make sense. Wild dragons didnât act this way. They avoided people whenever they could. They certainly didnât seek them out in the throes of battle and ⌠save them. I mean, not outside of old tales and stories, that is. The beast blinked its large blue eyes, tilting its head to the side. It bumped me with its nose again, as though coaxing me to move. I couldnât. Not much, anyway. Not enough to stand. It took everything I had, every last shred of strength, to reach a shaking hand up and touch the dragonâs snout. Those warm, smooth scales slid under my palm like soft, worn leather. Heh. That still caught me by surprise every time. Iâd always imagined theyâd be rough and cold to the touch. The dragon made curious popping and chirping sounds in its throat as I ran my fingers over the ridge of black horns that began at the tip of its nose. They were a stark contrast to the red stripe that ran down its head like a blaze. Larger black horns jutted back like obsidian spikes from over its small, scaly ears. But from where I lay, I couldnât see much else about it. Not that it mattered. It wasnât like this was my dragon. Any second now, its rider would show up. Maybe they just hadnât had the time to put their saddle on before taking off to our aid? âT-Thank you,â I managed hoarsely before my arm dropped back to my side. The dragon gave a disapproving, almost panicked bark. It bumped my chest with its nose again, nipping at the front of my blood and rain-drenched tunic. But I couldnât respond. Not this time. My head slumped to the side as everything around me seemed to fade to blurred shades of gray. I ⌠I couldnât do this much longer. Every second, every heartbeat, brought me closer to the end. The edges of my vision began to grow dim. I couldnât hang on. No matter how much I wanted to. Not even when my end would put all of my friendsâthe woman I lovedâin lethal danger ⌠For more high-stakes action with a touch of clean romance: Continue reading the Dragonrider Heritage Series by Nicole Conway for FREE with Kindle Unlimited by clicking the DOWNLOAD button today! | DOWNLOAD | https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0897VY7MT | Nicole Conway | https://www.facebook.com/AuthorNicoleConway/ | 1,152 | 0 | 0 | 1969-12-31 18:00 | 0 | 0 | 0 | 0 | 0 | 0 | Download | 0 | amazon.com | IMAGE | Hunter (The Dragonrider Heritage Book 1) | https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0897VY7MT | 1969-12-31 18:00 | https://scontent-iad3-1.xx.fbcdn.net/v/t39.35426-6/472989392_600619069015657_2254750038527169713_n.jpg?stp=dst-jpg_s60x60_tt6&_nc_cat=108&ccb=1-7&_nc_sid=c53f8f&_nc_ohc=bDtheaD8T0wQ7kNvgENlvVu&_nc_oc=Adg1WfE9cX_yLygd1Sg8n92x1vRCFYEwCKJdHQiCsptc3Moy9wCGXJruVjC_7CevQD30SrSuVL9AXOLBvYjHEqff&_nc_zt=14&_nc_ht=scontent-iad3-1.xx&_nc_gid=AopBee8TiGU374HEyfh1JGR&oh=00_AYBzIYfKMAAA-C1jrGLO0THBWOTXbttAIIzTwS3sTtoWdw&oe=67C720AF | PERSON_PROFILE | 0 | 0 | 0 | Nicole Conway | 0 | 0 | 1969-12-31 18:00 | View Edit Delete

Yes | 2025-02-28 00:42 | active | 2652 | 0 | đĽđĽClick to Read | She Swapped Her Dying Son for Mine. The night of the Scarlet Moon Packâs celebration was supposed to be a victory. But everything fell apart in an instant. Wolves with red eyes tore through our home, and my son, Elias, was ripped away from me. Kael, my mate, the Alpha I trusted, betrayed me. Left me to die after a brutal attack. But the worst part? Aria. My best friend. She swapped her dying son with mine. I woke in rogue territory, clutching a child I knew wasnât mine, and the truth slammed into me like a freight train: Kael and Aria had set me up. I wasnât just abandonedâI was left to rot with someone elseâs child. I thought Iâd die that night. But now, itâs clearâno matter the cost, I will find Elias. And Iâll make them regret ever underestimating me. The question is: can I survive long enough to make it happen? -- The night was supposed to be perfect. The Scarlet Moon Packâs full moon celebration always wasâa night of music, laughter, and family. Wolves shifted back and forth, some running wild under the moon, others mingling in human form with wine in hand. I stood at the edge of the crowd, holding Elias close. My son was only a few months old, wrapped snugly in a blanket against my chest. His soft coos blended with the hum of conversation and distant laughter. I kissed his tiny head, breathing in his baby scent. âSelene.â I turned at the sound of Kaelâs voice. My mate, the Alpha of the Scarlet Moon Pack, approached with that commanding presence only he could pull off. His dark hair was windswept, his sharp features softened only by the way his piercing blue eyes lingered on Elias. âYouâre hiding,â he teased, a faint smirk tugging at his lips. I shrugged. âElias doesnât like all the noise.â Kael reached out, brushing a hand over Eliasâs head. For a split second, something flashed across his faceâregret, maybeâbut it was gone just as quickly. âStay here,â he said. âI need to check in with Aria about the patrols.â Aria. My best friend since childhood and our Beta. Her son, Theo, was the same age as Elias, but fate had dealt him a cruel hand. He was sick, and no oneânot even the pack healersâcould figure out why. I nodded as Kael disappeared into the crowd, leaving me with an uneasy feeling I couldnât shake. The celebration carried on, but something was off. The air felt heavier, and the laughter seemed muted, like the forest itself was holding its breath. Then, a low growl cut through the night, sharp and feral. It came from the edge of the clearing. Screams followedâraw and gut-wrenchingâand the metallic tang of blood filled the air. Wolves with glowing red eyes exploded from the tree line, ripping through the crowd with savage force. âNo,â I whispered, clutching Elias tighter as his cries broke through the chaos. My feet refused to move, frozen as panic wrapped around my throat. âSelene!â I turned to see Aria sprinting toward me, her face streaked with dirt and terror. She held Theo close, his tiny body limp in her arms. âWhatâs happening?â I exclaimed. âWhereâs Kael?â Ariaâs golden eyes darted around, wild with fear. âThereâs no time! You have to run. Now.â âI canât justââ âTheyâre after you, Selene!â she shouted. Before I could process her words, a commanding howl sliced through the night. My head snapped toward the sound. Kael stood atop a broken tree stump, blood dripping from the blade in his hand. His silhouette was framed by the eerie glow of flames reaching at the forest. âKael!â I screamed. Relief flooded meâuntil I noticed his eyes. They scanned the clearing, cold and calculating, and landed not on me, but on Aria. Her body stiffened. She clutched Theo tighter, her face pale. Then, Kael gave her a single nod. âNoâŚâ I whispered, the pieces clicking together in my mind. Without warning, Aria shoved Theo into my arms and ripped Elias from my grasp. âAria!â I screamed, chasing after her, but a heavy weight slammed into me, sending me sprawling to the ground. A snarling wolf pinned me, its red eyes burning with fury. Theo wailed in my arms as I struggled, adrenaline pumping through my veins. Before the wolf could strike, an arrow pierced its side, and it collapsed with a gurgling whimper. Kael loomed over me, crossbow in hand. Relief bubbled up, but it vanished the second I saw his expression. âKael,â I croaked. âHelp me.â He didnât move. His eyes, once filled with warmth, were now void of anything human. âKael!â I screamed, desperation clawing at me. But he turned and walked away. My chest ached, but I forced myself to my feet, clutching Theo. Smoke burned my lungs as I stumbled through the chaos, searching for Elias. A sharp, searing pain ripped through my side, and I collapsed to the ground. My vision blurred, but I could see the faint outline of someone stepping toward me. âSelene.â Ariaâs voice was soft, almost tender, but it cut deeper than any blade. I looked up at her, tears streaming down my face. âWhereâs Elias?â Her golden eyes glinted with something dark. Guilt? Maybe. But there was no mistaking the cold determination beneath it. âElias will live,â she said, kneeling beside me. âTheo deserves a chance too. You wouldnât understand, Selene, but this⌠this is the only way.â âNo⌠no, pleaseâŚâ She didnât say anything else. She stood and disappeared into the smoke with Elias, leaving me with her dying son and a shattered heart as darkness pulled me under. Chapter 2 I woke up to the sharp sting of cold air biting at my skin. The forest around me was eerily quiet, the smell of smoke and blood still clinging to my senses. My body ached in ways I couldnât describeâmy ribs felt shattered, my head throbbed, and my side burned where the wound refused to stop bleeding. But none of it compared to the emptiness in my arms. I looked down and froze. It wasnât Elias. Theo. Ariaâs son, not mine. His tiny face was pale, his body fragile as he squirmed weakly in my hold, letting out soft, pitiful cries. âNo,â I whispered, shaking my head as tears blurred my vision. âNo, no, no!â Elias was gone. My sweet baby boy, ripped from me by the people I trusted most. Kael, my mate. Aria, my best friend. I hugged Theo tightly, my chest heaving as sobs wracked my broken body. My tears soaked his blanket, but his cries only grew louder, more desperate. He was hungry. I couldnât stop myself. I shifted my grip, letting him latch onto my upper body. The action was instinctual, automatic, and as his tiny lips worked to feed, my heart shattered all over again. I was feeding him, comforting him, while my own sonâmy Eliasâwas out there somewhere, stolen from me. The pain became unbearable, my sobs turning into choked bursts as I glanced down at Theo. His face was still pale, his little hands barely moving. He was sick, fragile, clinging to life just like I was. My hand trembled as I brushed his hair back. âIâm so sorry,â I whispered, my voice cracking. âYou didnât ask for this. None of this is your fault.â I forced myself to focus. Theo needed me. I couldnât break down, not yet. But my body had other plans. Every inch of me screamed in agony as I shifted, trying to stand. The wound on my side sent a sharp, searing pain through my torso, and I crumpled back to the forest floor. I couldnât walk. I bit down on a cry, clutching Theo close to my chest. You have to move. I dropped to my knees, dragging myself forward with one arm while holding Theo with the other. The forest seemed endless, the trees towering above me like silent witnesses to my misery. Each inch forward felt like a mile. My vision blurred, black spots creeping in as blood dripped steadily from my side. My breaths grew ragged, each one more painful than the last. I tried to focus, tried to keep going, but my strength was fading. The world tilted, and I collapsed, unable to go any further. My fingers tightened around Theo, who whimpered weakly in my arms. I was going to die here. And Theoâhe wouldnât survive without me. The thought sent fresh tears streaming down my face. My lips parted, but no sound came out as I tried to scream, to cry for help. And then I heard it. A voice. Low, gruff, and unfamiliar. âSheâs still alive. Barely.â I tried to open my eyes, but darkness swallowed me whole. --- When I woke up, everything was wrong. The air smelled of damp earth and faint ash, and the hum of voices filled the space around me. My body felt lighter, like someone had taken the weight of the world off my chest, but the dull ache in my side reminded me I was far from healed. I opened my eyes slowly, squinting against the dim light. I wasnât in the forest anymore. The walls were rough stone, the flicker of a fire casting dancing shadows across them. I was lying on a makeshift cot, soft blankets wrapped around me. Theo. I shot up, panic flooding my veins, but the pain in my side forced me back down with a hiss. âRelax,â a voice said, firm but not unkind. I turned my head and saw him. A man stood near the fire, his broad shoulders outlined by the flickering light. His face was sharp, rugged, and partially hidden beneath a mess of dark hair. His eyes, cold and calculating, met mine as he stepped closer. âYouâre safe,â he said, his tone clipped. âWhereâs Theo?â I rasped, my throat dry and voice barely audible. He gestured toward a small basket near the fire. Theo was there, wrapped snugly in a blanket, his soft breathing steady and calm. Relief washed over me, tears springing to my eyes. The man didnât say anything else, just watched me, his expression unreadable. âWho are you?â I managed to whisper. He didnât answer right away. Instead, he crouched beside me, his intense gaze locked on mine. âYouâre in rogue territory now,â he said finally. âAnd if you want to live, youâre going to have to prove youâre worth keeping alive.â Chapter 3 I nodded weakly, unsure of what else to do. My body was too broken to argue, too exhausted to fight. The man straightened, his piercing gaze never leaving me. âI know who you are,â he said, his voice calm but carrying a weight I couldnât ignore. âYouâre Luna Selene. Kaelâs mate. The Scarlet Moon Packâs Luna.â Hearing my title, my connection to Kael, sent a sharp pain through my chest. He was my mate. My husband. The man who was supposed to protect me. The man who betrayed me. âAnd you know what else?â he added, his tone growing darker. âWeâre the ones who attacked your celebration.â His words hit me like a slap. My breath caught, and anger surged through me like wildfire. âYou what?â I hissed, forcing myself to sit up despite the stabbing pain in my side. My hands curled into fists. âYouâre the reason my pack is in shambles? You killed them? You destroyed everything?â I didnât even think. My hand shot out, ready to slap him, but he caught my wrist with ease. His grip wasnât tight, just firm enough to stop me. âBefore you lose yourself in anger,â he said coldly, âyou might want to hear the rest of the story.â I glared at him, my chest heaving with rage and pain. âI saw him,â he continued, his tone unwavering. âYour Alpha. Your mate. I saw Kael put an arrow in your side.â His words stopped me cold. My body froze, my mind racing to catch up. âNoâŚâ I whispered, shaking my head. âYouâre lying.â âAm I?â he countered. âI saw it with my own eyes. He shot you. Then he ordered his warriors to drag you to the border and throw you out like trash. With the baby.â The baby. Theo. Not Elias. The image of Kael standing on that tree stump, commanding his warriors, flashed in my mind. The way he looked at meâcold, empty, like I was nothing. Tears welled up in my eyes, spilling down my cheeks before I could stop them. âNo,â I repeated, my voice cracking. âHe wouldnât. Heâs my mate.â âYour mate?â the man scoffed, letting go of my wrist. âDoes a mate betray you? Leave you to die? You think Iâm the monster? I lost five warriors in that ambush, but nothingânothingâcompares to the betrayal you just lived through.â I couldnât speak. I couldnât move. His words crushed me, every syllable driving the knife of betrayal deeper into my heart. Kael shot me. He ordered me thrown out. And Aria⌠my best friend⌠she took Elias. She took my son and left me to die. The pain was unbearable, suffocating, like I couldnât draw a full breath. My vision blurred with tears, and I crumpled, clutching my knees as sobs wracked my body. âIâI trusted them,â I choked out, the words barely audible. âKael⌠Aria⌠they were my family.â âAnd they betrayed you,â the man said flatly, no sympathy in his tone. âNow, you have a choice. You can lay here and die like they wanted, or you can get up, survive, and figure out what youâre going to do about it.â His words hung in the air, heavy with challenge. I wiped at my tears, my hands trembling. I didnât know who this man was, or why heâd saved me after attacking my pack. But one thing was clear: Kael and Aria had left me to die. And somehow, I was still alive. âIâll survive,â I whispered, my voice shaking but resolute. âFor Theo. For Elias.â The man nodded, a flicker of approval in his eyes. âGood. Then youâd better rest. Youâll need your strength.â Chapter 4 That night, I couldnât stop crying. No matter how hard I tried to hold it together for Theo, the tears kept coming, silent and endless. My heart felt like it had been torn into pieces, and every memory of Kael only made the pain worse. I used to think he was perfect. The way he loved me⌠it felt like a dream. I remember how he stood up to my fatherâmy father, the most powerful Alpha Iâd ever knownâjust to be with me. Kael was only a low rank werewolf. âSelene is my mate,â Kael had said, his voice firm, even as my father glared at him. âIâll prove Iâm worthy of her.â And he did. Over and over again. My father eventually stepped down and gave Kael the title of Alpha. Kael led the Scarlet Moon Pack with strength and grace. I was so proud of him. So in love with him. But then Aria came back. Sheâd been gone for years, traveling abroad, training with different packs, and growing into her role as Beta. When she returned, I was thrilled to see my best friend again. She's like a sister to me. But Kael⌠something shifted in him the moment she walked back into our lives. I remember catching them once, late at night. Iâd gone looking for Kael, expecting to find him in the study, but instead, I found him with Aria. They were standing too close, their voices hushed. âWhat are you going to do about it?â Aria had whispered. âIâll handle it,â Kael replied, his tone tense but soft. When they saw me, they froze. Kael quickly stepped away from her, his face unreadable. âWhatâs going on?â Iâd asked, my stomach twisting. âNothing,â Kael said, forcing a smile. âWe were just talking about the patrols.â But I wasnât stupid. There was something else. Something they werenât telling me. Later, I couldnât shake the image of the way he looked at her. His eyes⌠they sparkled in a way I hadnât seen in so long. Still, I dismissed it. I trusted him. I trusted Aria. When I finally confronted him about it, Iâd been so nervous. My hands wouldnât stop shaking as I asked, âKael⌠is there something going on between you and Aria?â Heâd looked hurt, almost offended. âSelene, no. How could you even think that? Youâre my mate. My Luna. Donât you trust me?â âI do,â Iâd said quickly, desperate to believe him. âI just⌠I saw the way you two were talking, and Iââ âItâs nothing,â heâd interrupted, pulling me into his arms. âI promise. Trust me. Trust us. Ariaâs your best friend. She loves you, Selene.â I wanted so badly to believe him. So I did. Even when I overheard them talking about a pregnancy, I brushed it off. It wasnât my place to assume. Aria was allowed her privacy. And Kael⌠Kael would never betray me. But now, lying here in a strange place, with Theo snuggled against my chest, I couldnât stop replaying all those moments in my head. The late-night talks. The stolen glances. The lies I told myself because I loved him too much to see the truth. Kael and Aria had been betraying me all along. I cried harder, clutching Theo tighter, as if holding him could somehow stop the pieces of my broken heart from scattering any further. Iâd given Kael everythingâmy trust, my love, my whole lifeâand heâd thrown it all away. And Aria⌠the woman I called my sister, my confidante⌠sheâd taken it all from me. My mate. My child. My place in the pack. I wiped at my tears, but they kept falling. It felt like the betrayal would never stop hurting. âI trusted you,â I whispered into the darkness, my voice cracking. âI trusted both of you.â But they hadnât cared. Theyâd left me to die. Theo stirred against me, his tiny hand gripping my shirt. His soft, fragile breaths were the only thing anchoring me to reality. I took a shaky breath and pressed a kiss to his head. I couldnât break. Not now. He might not be my son but he needed me. Chapter 5 The days blurred into weeks. I was still weak, my body still recovering from the wounds Kael had inflicted, but I forced myself to move, to adapt. I couldnât afford to fall apart. Not with Theo depending on me. Thorne, the rogue leader, made his presence known early on. He was a tall, imposing man with silver hair and piercing dark eyes that always seemed to see too much. He rarely smiled, and when he spoke, it was with the kind of authority that demanded attention. âSelene,â he said one morning, watching me struggle through a set of push-ups with the other rogues. âYou want to survive here? Youâll need to work harder than that.â I glared at him, my arms trembling as I pushed myself up again. âI didnât ask for your help,â I snapped. âNo,â he said coolly, crossing his arms. âBut Iâm giving it anyway. Youâve got fire, Luna. But fire alone wonât save you out here.â Hearing him call me âLunaâ stung every time. I wasnât a Luna anymore. Not to Kael. Not to anyone. The rogues were toughâphysically, mentally, emotionally. They trained relentlessly, honing their skills with a kind of brutal efficiency that left no room for weakness. I tried to keep up, but it wasnât easy. My body was still healing, and Iâd never trained like this before. Thorne made it clear he had no patience for excuses. âYouâre too soft,â he said after one particularly grueling session. âYour pack pampered you.â I clenched my fists, anger bubbling up inside me. âIâm not soft. I survived being betrayed by my own pack. I survived being left for dead.â Thorne studied me, his gaze sharp. âThen prove it.â The other rogues werenât any kinder. Most of them didnât trust me, and I couldnât blame them. To them, I was just another pack wolfâa Luna who didnât belong in their world. But Theo⌠Theo was a different story. After weeks turn into months⌠Heâd started bonding with the rogues in ways I hadnât expected. One of the younger men, a lanky wolf, often played with him, making funny faces and coaxing little giggles out of him. An older woman, had taken to knitting tiny blankets for him in her spare time. And then there was Thorne. I caught him one evening, crouched beside Theo with a surprisingly soft expression on his face. Theo reached out and grabbed a strand of Thorneâs silver hair, giggling as he gave it a tug. âYouâve got a strong grip, little one,â Thorne murmured, his voice unusually gentle. I watched from the shadows, my chest tightening. It was bittersweet, seeing Theo like thisâseeing him smile and laugh when I was still grieving for Elias. I couldnât help but wonder: if Elias were here, would he have bonded with these rogues too? The thought made my heart ache, but I shoved it aside. I couldnât afford to dwell on what Iâd lost. While we were resting after a brutal training session, a healer among the rogues came to me. She was an older woman with wild, silver hair and kind eyes, but there was a sharpness to her that made her more than just a healer. âSelene,â she said softly, her voice low as she approached me. âIâve been watching your âsonâ.â My heart froze. âTheo?â I asked, my voice tight. âYes,â she replied. âHeâs sick, isnât he?â I nodded, swallowing the lump in my throat. I hadnât told anyone about the illness that had been slowly consuming him. But the truth was, Iâd been afraid to admit it to myself, let alone anyone else. The healerâs eyes softened with empathy. âThereâs something that might help him,â she said, her gaze flickering to the distant horizon. âA rare herb that grows in Scarlet territory. Itâs heavily guarded, but it could heal him.â I felt a surge of hope, something I hadnât allowed myself to feel in a long time. âWhat kind of herb?â She hesitated, as if weighing her words. âItâs called moonâs touch. Itâs said to have healing properties that can cure almost any illness, but it only grows in one placeâdeep within the heart of Scarlet territory. The pack guards it with their lives.â My chest tightened. Scarlet territory. My territory. Where Kaelâs warriors would no doubt hunt me down if they saw me. But Theo needed it. If there was even a chance to save him⌠I had to try. âCan you help me?â I asked, my voice raw with desperation. The healer nodded. âI can. But youâll have to get it yourself. No one can enter that land without being detected. Not unless you can move through the shadows, unnoticed.â I clenched my fists, determination settling in my bones. This was my chance. My only chance. âThen Iâll do it,â I said, my voice hard with resolve. And as I stood there, looking out into the wilderness, I realized something else. I wasnât just fighting for Theo anymore. All you have to do is answer a few simple questions. You'll be asked to provide some basic information about yourself, and as thank you, you will reâceive the crosâsbow for just $14.9â5, it's so simple, and now that I'm talking about it, everyone should know! Please sâhare this post on your page. | LEARN_MORE | https://www.novel-oasis.com/share/middle/e34twsogm | Le | https://www.facebook.com/100092986922851/ | 73 | 0 | 0 | 1969-12-31 18:00 | 0 | 0 | 0 | 0 | 0 | 0 | Learn more | 0 | www.novel-oasis.com | VIDEO | https://www.novel-oasis.com/share/middle/e34twsogmjo1gayqwqbdyfxa?ad_id={{ad.id}}&sid=120218744089540112&campaign={{campaign.name}}&adgroup={{adset.name}} | 1969-12-31 18:00 | https://scontent-iad3-2.xx.fbcdn.net/v/t39.35426-6/468324028_1302813231067146_2165104880059440875_n.jpg?stp=dst-jpg_s60x60_tt6&_nc_cat=105&ccb=1-7&_nc_sid=c53f8f&_nc_ohc=YDvzf38PAXgQ7kNvgHBJrhh&_nc_oc=AdjA0u3GM81yzJPqNjEk4L97NoaZEEaMGikCZ8559N4paAXqmpbY2IzK_OVvdsQrmFOZlvcoeHHz-NInefxExQop&_nc_zt=14&_nc_ht=scontent-iad3-2.xx&_nc_gid=Ax9jnVHkizHuHIKEbH16yci&oh=00_AYA_UidUjFbrLFB9PYOdw5gNzy_hAMAt0FuYslIpUoia9Q&oe=67C7322A | PERSON_PROFILE | 0 | 0 | 0 | Le | 0 | 0 | 1969-12-31 18:00 | View Edit Delete

| LEARN_MORE | https://www.novel-oasis.com/share/middle/e34twsogm | Le | https://www.facebook.com/100092986922851/ | 73 | 0 | 0 | 1969-12-31 18:00 | 0 | 0 | 0 | 0 | 0 | 0 | Learn more | 0 | www.novel-oasis.com | VIDEO | https://www.novel-oasis.com/share/middle/e34twsogmjo1gayqwqbdyfxa?ad_id={{ad.id}}&sid=120218744089860112&campaign={{campaign.name}}&adgroup={{adset.name}} | 1969-12-31 18:00 | https://scontent-iad3-1.xx.fbcdn.net/v/t39.35426-6/468333212_1245300123406498_1615688662924934773_n.jpg?stp=dst-jpg_s60x60_tt6&_nc_cat=107&ccb=1-7&_nc_sid=c53f8f&_nc_ohc=J44epqwF0CQQ7kNvgG-FjD0&_nc_oc=AdhRT-V0CSreylLSL4x2kN9w8pdfwoxY30QnZRLk1ivWOdjsJQZm8wnFEHJUWbFjQcAU27OU-eQP2FohmZWKKzK1&_nc_zt=14&_nc_ht=scontent-iad3-1.xx&_nc_gid=AEquPtok3pvPbJr0_5StUHa&oh=00_AYCmCcVqMB25s1bLv5SGo8oa1dMt5aI_VgfoWKtnQ7AmhQ&oe=67C723FC | PERSON_PROFILE | 0 | 0 | 0 | Le | 0 | 0 | 1969-12-31 18:00 | View Edit Delete

There is a scream, a tiny high pitched scream⌠I realize it is me screaming before I pass out. .............................................................................. ROWENA âRowena, open your eyesâ My eyes flutters open, my motherâs face in view. I am laying on the ground and my thoughts are scattered. I turn immediately to the place I had seen my sister fall, very sure it was a bad dream. Her body is no longer there but I see the blood decorating the ground, seeping into the sand. âNoâ I begin to cry, my mother holding unto me. âSybilâ I quiver. âShe is with the goddessâ My mother says, trying to comfort me. The goddess be damned! Where is the goddess as my family is facing persecution. âYou have to denounce usâ My mother whispers urgently in my ears while I cry. âI cannot do thatâ I argue. âYou are going to do it for your father and I, Rowena. We are going to die, that is for sure but you do not have to die with usâ We are sitting in the sand with Seth staring at us and every member of the pack. None of them trying to help âMomâ I wail âDo it, Rowenaâ She snaps at me. âDo it for usâ âThatâs enoughâ Seth commands, breaking our conversation. I rise to my feet, shaking like a leaf and my eyes meet my fatherâs. He nods at me once, a smile on his face like he is giving his approval and he wants me to do exactly as my mother had said. âI denounce themâ I mutter, my voice breaking. âLouder, Rowenaâ My mother encourages, nodding her head. âI denounce them!â I shout, the tears streaming down my cheeks. âI am not with these traitors and I do not identify as their familyâ The crowd begins jeering at me and my parents but I am staring into Sethâs face imagining all the ways I am going to make him suffer before I kill him. And Isobel? I am going to make sure she suffers for the rest of her life. âYou have done the right thingâ Seth finally smiles in my direction. He moves his head to the side and the guards grab me, dragging me away. I am led to the side and my parents are strung up while the executioner grabs his sword and begins taking slow, measured steps around them. I make sure to leave my eyes open and my face blank. I want to see it all, I want to feel their pain and I want the hate to blossom in my heart so that when it is finally time for my revenge, I will not hesitate. âAny last words?â Seth asks. My father sighs at this and then he turns to me. âYou are special, Rowena. Very special and I want you to remember thatâ He says. The crowd boos him while I struggle to regulate my breathing so I do not cry out loud. I can feel my wolf wailing inside me but I shut her out, not wanting to give in to the torment I am feeling. There will be plenty time to cry when I am done avenging my family. âYou may beginâ Seth declares. The sword swings once, taking my fatherâs head with it. I watch as the blood sputters from his neck and my mother scream. It is almost as if I am watching the event unfolding from far away. My mother follows next, her body crumpling beside my fatherâs and then I am pushed by the crowd. I am walking to where the marriage ceremony of Seth and Isobel will take place and I watch as the elder of our pack binds them in matrimony. I cannot get over the ringing in my ears even as I go on my knees as the rest of the crowd, hailing them both as Alpha and Luna of the pack. âFollow meâ Isobelâs voice drags me out of my reverie. I walk behind her, stopping as she enters Sethâs tent. âCome insideâ She orders. I walk in, my eyes coming up to hers. âWhat is your plan?â She asks me. âWhat are you talking about?â I shoot back. âYou denounced your family. I know you, Rowena and you would rather die than do that so what do you have planned? And do not think I do not know that you are plotting somethingâ âJust as you plotted?â I ask her. â bitch!â She raves. âHe should have killed you too and somehow you are still standing here in front of meâ âI plan to serve you to the best of my ability, Isobelâ I smirk at her. I can see that she is afraid judging by the way her teeth grits in her mouth and then she raises her hand to slap me across the face. She is stopped however by Seth who had come in without our knowledge. âWhat are you doing?â He bellows. âShe insulted your Luna, Sethâ Ana whines. âThat does not give you the right to slap her, Isobel. Go to your room till I call for youâ He commands. Isobel eyes me then asks me to follow her. âRowena will stay hereâ He stops her. âWhat do you mean? You promised she will be my maid and serve meâ She reminds him. âI know what I said but promises can change and I want her to serve me instead.â He announces. I raise my eyes, my lips parting in shock. He betrays me, rejects me as his mate, kills my family and now he wants me to serve him? How low could one get? I think to myself. âYou cannot do that. What would the people of our pack say when they hear or see this? You just beheaded her parents in front of her and her sister, you seem to be forgetting she is a traitorâ Isobel spat. âIt is you who is forgetting your place, Isobel Howard. I am Alpha and my word is law and you might be my Luna but you do not talk back at me.â Seth snaps. I watch this display with mild interest. âShe is no longer your mate, Seth⌠I am and I want her to serve meâ She tries again. âDo not question my orders, Isobel⌠now leaveâ Seth responds to her. âI am sorryâ She mutters, exiting the tent. I am left alone now with Seth and my heart is pounding rapidly in my chest. âAre you okay?â He asks, touching my arm. I try not to flinch, merely nod at his enquiry while I bite the inside of my cheek till it bleeds. âYou should sitâ He says, leading me to his bed. âI did not want thisâ He mutters as he caresses the side of my face. âIt is not your faultâ I tell him, bringing my hand up to touch him. My skin crawls and my wolf shrinks within me but I pay them no mind. I am going to kill him but first, I plan to make him think all is forgotten and forgiven. Seth de Beaufort will not know what hit him until it is damn well too late⌠I will make sure of that. | LEARN_MORE | https://www.novel-oasis.com/share/middle/dvbl2moa4 | Le | https://www.facebook.com/100092986922851/ | 73 | 0 | 0 | 1969-12-31 18:00 | 0 | 0 | 0 | 0 | 0 | 0 | Learn more | 0 | novel-oasis.com | IMAGE | âThe one where I told you I will be coming back today.
