Yes | 2024-04-07 16:42 | active | 455 | 0 | 945619247099035 | 👉👉 Title: Surrogate for Alpha Dom | “I’m sorry Ella.” My physician says gently. “I’m afraid you have very few viable eggs remaining. Frankly, I normally see these numbers in women ten or fifteen years your senior.”

“What?” I murmur, not believing my ears. I’ve been trying to get pregnant for years. I’m only 30, I should have plenty of eggs left.

“In terms of fertility, you have very little time left.” She continues. “If you want to conceive, you need to do so before your next cycle begins.”

“My next cycle?” I repeat, my mouth hanging open in shock. I love kids more than anything, and though it might not be everyone’s ambition, I want nothing more than to be a mother.

I have to get home and tell my boyfriend this news, and there’s not a moment to waste.

I make it home in record time, bursting through the door and opening my mouth to call for Mike, but stopping dead in my tracks. As soon as I walk inside I see a pair of high heels and a handbag by the door – neither of which belong to me.

I cock my ears towards the bedroom, and my stomach churns when I hear the unmistakable sound of moaning, accompanied by a steady thump thump thump, as the bed collides with the wall. Worse even than realizing that Mike is clearly in there with another woman, is realizing who he’s with. I know that handbag, and I know those shoes – they belong to my best friend, Kate.

“Fuck, Ella is so stupid.” Mike laughs, “can you believe she actually expects me to have a baby with her?”

Kate snorts, “she’s delusional. I don’t know how you put up with her for so long in the first place.”

“If she wasn’t so beautiful I never would have given her the time of day.” Mike scoffs. “Thankfully daily doses of plan B kept her from ever conceiving.”

“The morning after pill?” Kate asks, “how did you manage to give it to her without her realizing?”

“I put it in her morning coffee.” Mike chortles, sounding far too proud of himself.

My vision goes completely red as everything finally falls into place. Suddenly it’s clear why I’ve never been able to get pregnant, despite having unprotected sex multiple times a week for years. It’s even clear how I could have the eggs of a 45-year-old, if my despicable partner has been secretly feeding me emergency contraceptives every day – there’s no telling what other damage that might have done to my reproductive system.

Before I can think better of it, I pull the smoke alarm on the wall, wanting to frighten and punish the pair in the bedroom so fiercely that I fear I might attack them when they emerge. Water immediately sprays down from the sprinkler system mounted to the ceiling as a shrill siren fills the air, and I hear Mike and Kate cry out in surprise.

A few moments later they come rushing out of the bedroom, stopping in their tracks when they see me looming in the doorway. Mike’s eyes go comically wide, “What are you doing home so early?” The snake has the nerve to sound affronted that I surprised him, when he’s the one who’s been sneaking around behind my back for God knows how long. He seems to realize how suspicious it looks that he and Kate are standing there in their underwear and quickly adds, “Kate came to see me so we could plan a surprise for your birthday, but then we spilled coffee all over our clothes so we had to change.”

Fire blazes in my veins, he must truly believe I’m an idiot if he expects me to buy such a feeble excuse.

It’s a testament to their horrifically low opinion of me that they buy my act, and I vow to get my revenge one way or another. I can’t believe I wasted so many years – my best years – on this scumbag. And now he may have cost me my future too. As soon as the thought enters my head, I know I can’t afford to waste another moment on Mike, I have more important things to take care of.

I make my excuses and rush across town for the second time that afternoon, running to the comforting arms of my surrogate sister, Cora. Not only did we grow up together in the orphanage, but she became an OBGYN and now works for the most exclusive sperm bank in the city. I’ve never gone to her before because I always imagined Mike and I would eventually conceive the natural way, but that clearly isn’t an option anymore.

Even if I could find a man willing to have a baby with me in time, I’m not eager to trust anyone after Mike’s betrayal. I’m going to have to do this on my own, and I know Cora can help me. I don’t have much money, but I have enough savings to pay for the insemination, especially since I basically have one shot and one shot only.

When I arrive, all my plans to lay out my situation for Cora clearly and concisely go out the window, because the moment I see my sister I fall to pieces. She hugs and kisses me until my tears subside, slowly extracting the story from me piece by piece. When she hears about Mike and Kate she swears up a storm, but that’s nothing compared to her reaction when I explain about my fertility.

“That little shit! I’ll kill him!” She fumes, studying me with a worried expression. “Ella, if your doctor was right this means you only have one chance to conceive.”

“I know.” I sniffle. “And if this is going to be my only baby, I don’t want to take any chances. I want the best donor we can find.”

“Don’t you worry about that.” Cora assures me, “We’ve got donations from actors, models, scientists – it’s only the creme de la creme here.” She glances at the door and lowers her voice. “You didn’t hear it from me, but even Dominic Sinclair sent his samples here for testing.”

“Dominic Sinclair? I repeat, “the billionaire?” I’ve seen the man around town, but we don’t exactly run in the same circles. He lives in the same neighborhood as my wealthy employer and often says hello to the children I nanny, but he’s always surrounded by bodyguards and is so intimidating I get goosebumps just thinking about him.

“Oh my god!.” Cora slaps her hand over her mouth. “I wasn’t supposed to tell you that! I don’t know what I was thinking. Apparently he’s no stranger to fertility issues himself, and he trusted us to handle his swimmers over every other lab in the country. I’ve got his sperm in the other room at this very moment.” She frets, “But Ella you can’t tell anyone, you have to promise me.”

“Of course!” I agree immediately. “I know how important confidentiality is here.”

“Thank you,” Cora breathes. “Now, I’m going to give you a dossier of our clients so you can pick a donor, and once you’ve chosen we’ll get you knocked up before you can even blink.”

It’s not an easy decision, but eventually I choose a handsome surgeon whose photo practically makes me swoon. Cora leaves the room only long enough to prepare the sample, and though she looks a bit flustered when she returns, she quickly and professionally completes the insemination, holding my hand when the procedure is finished. “It’s all take care of now, Ella.” She promises, “You can come back in ten days to see if it worked.”

Ten days. I think dazedly. Ten days to decide my entire future.

If only I’d known that by the time those ten days were up, my future would no longer belong to me – but to Dominic Sinclair himself.

Chapter 2 - Be Fired

Ella

Six days to go. I think, staring at the date circled on my calendar. Six days until I find out if my dreams are finally going to come true… or if I have to figure out an entirely different plan for my life.

I’ve thought about nothing else since Cora inseminated me last week, I’m so anxious to find out if I’m pregnant I haven’t even begun to process Mike’s betrayal.

I’m trying to keep a level head, yet I can’t help but imagine my future with this new baby. Try as I might, I catch myself daydreaming about it constantly. I even find myself humming as I get ready for work in the morning.

When I arrive at my employer’s estate in the most exclusive neighborhood in Moon Valley – which basically makes it the most exclusive neighborhood in the world, since Moon Valley is one of the most expensive cities on the planet – I’m immediately greeted by two little voices shouting my name in excitement. “Ella!”

The next thing I know, 3-year-old Millie is hugging my legs while her older brother, Jake, wraps his arms around my middle. “Good morning love puddles!” I exclaim, returning their hugs. “Are you ready for the museum?”

“Yeah!” They cheer, racing out the door without even stopping to put on coats. It takes a bit of wrangling to get them back inside and bundled up for the cold winter day, but before long we set out into the snow.

Jake races ahead of Millie and I, impatient to get to the science museum and not seeming to notice that his sister’s tiny legs simply don’t move that fast. Chuckling, I lift Millie into my arms and settle her on my hip. “Goodness, you’re getting too big for this, munchkin.”

“Nuh-uh,” Millie grins, “You’re justs too little.”

She might have a point. At five foot one, I don’t exactly have the kind of build suited to heavy lifting. I’m in great shape, but I’ve never been particularly strong. “Smarty pants.” I tease, laughing with the little girl.

When I look back towards Jake, I realize he’s stopped a few feet ahead of us. My heart skips a beat when I realize why. We’re in front of the Sinclair mansion, and its owner is currently standing in the middle of the sidewalk, his gaze searing me like a firebrand as I approach with Millie. Dominic Sinclair is just about the most handsome man I’ve ever seen, but he’s also one of the most terrifying.

With dark hair and piercing green eyes, chiseled features and a body so muscular I could swoon, it doesn’t seem fair he gets to look so good and also be so rich. If I didn’t know better I might think it was his wealth or imposing height that makes him so intimidating, after all he’s at least six foot four, which means he towers over me and everyone else around him. However it’s neither of those things, there’s simply an indefinable quality about the man that I can’t put my finger on, one which screams danger. He gives off this energy that’s so raw and animalistic one forgets there’s anyone else in the room.

Taking a steadying breath, I close the distance between us so Millie can say hello. When she greets him, Dominic drags his attention from me and offers her a smile so genuine that it tugs at my heartstrings. As I watch him talk to my two young charges, I remember what Cora told me about his infertility struggles. He clearly loves children, and I feel a wave of empathy for him. If anyone knows what it’s like to yearn for a family of their own, it’s me.

Jake is currently showing Dominic his new toy airplane, pulling the matchbox model from his pocket and demonstrating how far it can fly. With a great heave, he sends the toy gliding through the air, only to land in the middle of the street. Before any of us can say a word, Jake races after it, right into the busy road.

“Jake no, be careful!” I cry, watching him dart out into the path of an oncoming car but feeling frozen by my fear. Before I can contemplate putting Millie down to go after him, a blur of movement whirrs past my vision. I’ve never seen anyone move so fast in my life. Dominic became little more than a hazy outline of himself, chasing after Jake and pulling him out of the way just before the car slams into them. The vehicle’s tires are still screeching when Dominic sets Jake down beside me, his expression suddenly very stern.

“That was very dangerous.” He scolds gently. “You should never go into the street without looking both ways first.”

Jake hangs his head. “I’m sorry, I didn’t want my plane to get runned over.”

“You are a million times more important than a toy.” Dominic tells him firmly, “and you scared your nanny half to death.”

“I’m sorry, Ella.” Jake sniffles, looking up at me with wide eyes.

“I know sweetheart, just don’t ever do that again.” I breathe, cuddling him against my side. “Thank you so much.” I say to Dominic, feeling more grateful than I can express. “I have no idea how you moved so fast! It was like something out of a superhero film.”

“Must have been the adrenaline.” Dominic shrugs, giving Millie another smile before taking his leave. “Enjoy the rest of your day, and stay out of the road young man!”

“Yes sir!” Jake calls after him, pocketing his airplane. “I really am sorry.” He adds to me.

“It’s forgotten.” I tell him softly, though I take his hand so that he can’t run off again.

“It all happened so fast.” I tell Cora later that night. “I mean the more I think about it, the more amazing it seems. One moment he was there, and the next he was gone. It was like magic.”

“Thank goodness Jake is alright.” She replies, but rather than looking relieved, her face is twisted into a deep grimace.

Studying my sister’s expression, I realize her grim demeanor is not just about Jake’s near miss. Something else is wrong, and I actually feel guilty for not noticing sooner. “Is everything okay?”

Cora frowns, “Not really. But you’ve got so much going on right now, it’s not important.”

“Cora, don’t be ridiculous.” I admonish. “What’s going on?”

“Well, speaking of Dominic Sinclair,” She begins cryptically, “you know that sperm he sent to us for testing?”

“Yeah,” I confirm, wondering where on earth this was going.

“It’s gone missing… and I’m the last person who saw it, not to mention it was in my custody.” She explains, her voice becoming thick with emotion. “Ella, I think… I think I’m going to be fired. And if there’s an investigation I could lose my medical license.”

“What?” I exclaim. “What do you mean it’s missing? A vial of sperm can’t just get up and walk away.”

“I know, I think someone had to steal it, but there’s no way of knowing who’s responsible. And it looks like I’m going to have to take the blame.” She shares, her eyes shining with tears.

“Cora, I can’t believe you didn’t tell me this sooner!” I lament, “They can’t fire you, it isn’t fair.”

“You don’t understand, Dominic is one of our biggest donors.” Cora explains. “And he’s furious, he basically wants my head on a platter.”

A week ago I might have believed there was no hope for Cora, but seeing how kind and understanding Dominic was with the kids today makes me wonder if he could really be so heartless. Surely if he understood that Cora would never be so irresponsible he’d show some leniency? I have to try and help her, I would do anything for my sister – even begging a ruthless billionaire for mercy.

Chapter 3 - Request

Ella

Three days to go.

I repeat these words to myself as I walk down the street, still preoccupied with my possible pregnancy, even as I prepare to go to bat for my sister. In some ways it's a coping mechanism: I’m about to beg Dominic Sinclair to save Cora’s job, and I need a comforting thought to help me get through this.

His bodyguards see me first, and I can see their mouths moving as they watch me move closer, no doubt notifying him of my presence. Approaching nervously behind Dominic, I wonder for the hundredth time if this is a mistake. Who am I to ask a favor from one of the most powerful men on the planet? Shaking myself, I tell the little voice in the back of my mind to shut up – this is for Cora. I might not be brave for myself, but I can be brave for her.

“Mr. Sinclair?” I ask hesitantly, feeling my heart pound violently against my ribcage.

He turns around and gazes imperiously down at me. “Yes?”

“I’m Ella Reina, I nanny for Jake and Millie Graves.” I begin, gnawing on my lower lip.

His dark eyes catch on my mouth, and suddenly I feel like a frightened rabbit in front of a hungry wolf. “I know who you are, Ella.” The sound of my name on his lips sends a shiver down my spine. He speaks the familiar syllables with so much purpose, as if they truly mean something to him.

“Oh… well, I don’t mean to be impertinent, but I’m friends with Dr Cora Daniels…”As soon as I say her name, his expression closes off, and some unidentified emotion flashes in his eyes.

“She told me she’s in trouble at work, and I know you’re one of the bank’s donors.” I improvise. “I don’t know what Cora is being accused of, but I’m sure she’s innocent. She takes her job incredibly seriously, and she would never do anything to risk her career.”

“And what do you expect me to do about it?” Dominic asks ominously. I can tell he doesn’t believe my weak story, his body language has changed completely, and I can feel his rising anger vibrating in the air around us.

“I just thought… I hoped that if you had any sway there, you might be able to put in a good word for her.” I finish, feeling color flood my cheeks. I’m both ashamed of myself for such a feeble attempt, but unsure how else to handle such a delicate topic. The last thing I want is to get Cora in even more trouble than before.

Dominic’s jaw ticks as he watches me, and the voice in the back of my head urges me to run for it. “From what I’ve heard, your friend made a very serious mistake, and the consequences have been more than appropriate. The best thing she can do now is take responsibility for her mistakes, not sending you to do her dirty work for her.”

“I – she didn’t, she doesn’t even know I’m here! I swear.” I plead.

“I’ve said all I’m going to say on this matter.” Dominic declares, turning away from me and striding into his house. The door slams shut behind him, and I’m left with his various bodyguards.

“You need to leave now, miss.” One of the men announces sharply.

“I can’t.” I moan, “he has to understand, she’s going to lose everything!”

“We’re not going to ask you again.” A second guard growls, a clear threat in his words.

“Please, she’s innocent.” I beg, “you have to –” before I can say anything more, the men grab me by the arms and begin trying to lead me off the property. Feeling truly desperate, I dig in my heels, deciding that my dignity is worth Cora’s entire future. “I’m begging you, if I could just talk to Mr. Sinclair.”

“You’ve already talked to him.” The first guard grumbles, “and frankly you’re lucky he was as generous to you as he was. Your friend clearly told you things she shouldn’t.”

The next thing I know, they’ve thrown me off the property and onto the sidewalk so forcefully that I lose my balance, tumbling to the ground as tears spark in my eyes. The iron gates slam shut behind me, and I have no choice but to slink off before I can embarrass myself further.

Of course, this was only the beginning of my misfortune. When I arrived at work the next day, I found that my keys no longer fit the locks on the front door. I knocked, overwhelmed with confusion, and a few minutes later the door swung open to reveal Jake and Millie’s furious mother.

“My keys aren’t working.” I tell her, wondering why she’s glaring at me so fiercely.

“They’re not meant to.” She answers coldly, “as of yesterday afternoon, your services were no longer required.”

“I… you’re firing me?” I squeak, not believing my ears. “Why?”

“We got a call from the neighbors.” She explains haughtily, “apparently you let Jake run into the road the other day where he was almost hit by a car! And then yesterday you were seen making a fool of yourself at Dominic Sinclair’s home – they said his bodyguards had to drag you off the grounds like a common criminal.”

“That isn’t fair, that isn’t what happened!” I plead. “Jake through his toy into the road and ran after it, I didn’t let it happen, and what happened with Mr. Sinclair was a misunderstanding.”

“I don’t want to hear it.” She hisses. “Now leave before I call the police.”

“Please, can’t I at least say goodbye to the kids?” I request, praying she’ll grant me this one kindness.

“I’m dialing.” She tells me simply, pulling her cell phone from her pocket.

“No!” I raise my palms in supplication, “It’s okay, I’ll go.”

For the second time this week, I find myself shamefully retreating through this opulent neighborhood with tears streaming down my face. What hurts even worse than losing my job is the fact I didn't get to explain the situation to Jake and Millie, or see them one last time. I’m sure their mother will tell them horrible things about me, despite the fact that I’ve been lovingly raising for them for the last two years.

I know Dominic Sinclair is responsible for this. I don’t believe my ex-boss’s story about the neighbors for one moment. He clearly wanted to punish me, just like he’s having Cora punished. A rush of fury takes hold of me, and suddenly I wish I could punish him somehow. It’s not like me to be so vindictive, but right now it truly feels like my entire life is falling apart, and it’s partly his fault.

I spent all my money on the insemination, and without a job I have almost nothing. How am I ever going to afford to have a baby now? I guarantee I’m not going to get a good reference from Jake and Millie’s mother.

As if things weren’t already bad enough, when I return home I find a stack of bills in the mailbox and I don’t even recognize half the senders. I open them one by one, feeling my confusion and disbelief grow by the minute.

As I look at the stores on the breakdown of charges, my suspicion grows: they’re all Mike’s favorite places. Is it possible he did this behind my back? That he’s been hiding the bills from me for months… or years? I know he’ll deny it if I confront him, which leaves me only one option.

I have to call Kate. My former best friend might have betrayed me completely with her affair, but if anyone knows what Mike has been up to, it’s her.

Chapter 4 - Desperation

Ella

My hands are shaking as I dial Kate’s number. Have I ever been this angry? If I have I certainly can’t remember it now.

“Hello?” Kate answers almost immediately, using a sickly sweet tone that screams of fakeness.

“Kate?” I state bluntly. “Are you with Mike right now?”

There’s a pregnant pause on the other end of the line, before she weakly responds, “What? Of course not.”

“Come off it Kate, do you really think I don't know about your shit?” I demand. “I’m not a complete idiot.”

“Ella listen–” She begins, obviously gearing up to give me some sort of excuse.

“No, I don’t even care about your little affair anymore – but I need to talk to him right now.” I declare fiercely.

There’s another pause, and then Kate’s voice drops its innocent tone. “You don’t care?” She repeats, sounding truly shocked. “ You know I’m already pregnant?”

I wasn’t prepared for that particular piece of news. I clench my hands into fists, feeling so furious I think I might actually break the phone with my tight grip, “And what, you think that’s some sort of victory?” I bite.

“Does he know you’re pregnant?” I ask sharply, “because a man who’s so afraid of responsibility that he’d poison me for years is probably willing to do it to anyone.”

“Well no, but he loves me, he would never –” She tried to explain.

“He loved me too once.” I cut her off. “At least he said he did. It’s amazing how charming he can be, considering what a bastard he truly is. How do you think he’s going to support you and your child? He doesn’t even have a job.”

“Of course he does!” She objects, “He just didn’t tell you about it because he didn’t want you to bleed him dry. He’s a stock broker.”

“Oh Kate,” I sigh, “Poor, gullible, stupid Kate. He’s as much a stock broker as I am a wizard.”

“Don’t talk to me like that! He’s got money, he lavishes it on me all the time!” She insists.

“With fraudulent credit cards he took out in my name!” I shout, losing my temper completely.

“What?” She squeaks.

“That’s right. I’ve only just found out – he’s completely bankrupted me. I’m calling the police and if I were you, I’d check your own credit rating immediately, because I’d be willing to be you’re next.” I snap.

“No,” she repeats weakly, “you’re wrong, it’s different with me.”

My voice is getting thick with emotion now, but I can’t help it. “And frankly I don’t really care what happens to you Kate, but if you’re really pregnant then your baby deserves better than to be raised in a homeless shelter, and that’s exactly where Mike will land you.”

I hang up before I start crying, not giving her a chance to respond. Why did I buy his lies about looking for work for so long? He crushed me little by little, all the while pretending to be so nice, and I let it happen.

Never again. I decide. I won’t ever let myself be fooled that way again.

I still want to get my revenge on Mike, but first I’ve got to try and salvage what’s left of my life. I have to go to the police and see if I can resolve these financial issues… I can’t have a baby if I’m bankrupt, and I can only pray the police will help.

________________________

“I’m very sorry Miss. Reina, but if your ex-partner has left the area, there’s not much we can do about this.” The police officer breaks this news to me about as gently as he might smash an ant beneath his boot. “I’ll give you the police report to send to the credit card company, but that’s the most help you’re going to get from us.”

Anger fills me to the brim. I guarantee he’d never treat my case with so little consideration or respect if I wasn’t an impoverished nanny. If I was a wealthy man like Dominic Sinclair, he’d be fawning at my feet, offering to go to any lengths to solve my problems. I storm out of the station before I can lose my temper and verbally assault the man, immediately calling the credit card companies.

One by one they crush my hopes, telling me in no uncertain terms that unless a culprit is arrested in my case, I’ll be held responsible for the charges.

As I hang up on the final call, I can feel the earth crumbling beneath my feet. How did it come to this? I literally have nothing. No one will hire me without a recommendation from my previous employer, which means I won’t be able to pay rent or keep food on the table. Normally I might turn to Cora in such a time, but I can’t burden her with this when she’s in the same boat.

Tomorrow I’ll finally find out whether or not I’m pregnant, and up until now the strange sensation I’ve been experiencing the last few days has been a comfort and source of hope. I don’t know how to explain it: it’s as if I’m suddenly different somehow – even though I can’t see any changes, I just have this intense knowing that I’m no longer the same woman I was a week ago.

I thought it was a sign the insemination worked, but now I’m praying that it’s my imagination going overboard.

At first I try to distract myself, turning on the TV and freezing when I see Dominic Sinclair on the news talking about all his good will initiatives in the community. “When our work is finished, the Moon Valley children’s home will be a place of love and community, motivated to find the best homes for every child in need. Our initiative not only ensures that the permanent residents in the home have the best possible conditions, but that there is continuous follow up with children placed with adoptive families to ensure they thrive in their new homes.”

So much for the supposed philanthropist, I think bitterly. Turning a blind eye to the lives he’s selfishly ruining all the while pretending to be a friend of the downtrodden. A week ago I might have been touched by such a broadcast. I grew up in an orphanage just like the one he’s describing, and I know just how terrible the conditions can be. Now however, I see nothing but his hypocrisy. Cora was an orphan too, she didn’t do anything wrong – where is his compassion for her? Clearly it’s only for the TV cameras. It’s a shame. He’s very convincing… then again, so was Mike.

Of course Mike was never as handsome as Dominic Sinclair, nor did he ever have his charisma or imposing presence. I don’t know if I’ve ever met anyone like him. Even while he was refusing to help me, scolding me and having me thrown out the door, part of me was still taken in by his handsome features and pure magnetism.

Shaking myself, I turn the TV off. What the hell is wrong with me? The man is a heartless billionaire and I’m still sitting here mooning over him like a silly schoolgirl.

I end up going to bed early, trying not to think about tomorrow. Of course, I still lie awake late into the night – I know what it means to grow up an orphan, and I can’t countenance bringing a child into the world just to abandon it to that bleak existence. The more my life unravels, the more stark my options become.

If I am pregnant… Am I going to abort the child? Even though it’s what I’ve wanted my entire life!

Chapter 5 - Pregnancy Test

Ella

“No, I understand.” I murmur into the phone. “Thanks for listening at least.”

I wearily hang up the line, burying my head in my hands. I spent all morning calling in every favor and loan I possibly could, throwing my dignity right out the window to beg my friends and acquaintances in my time of need.

I’ve never thought of myself as a proud woman, but begging this way was more of a challenge than I could have imagined.

I only wish I could help Cora as well as myself. She’s still waiting to hear if she’ll be fired, and while she’s not supposed to be handling any samples, she got permission to do my tests this afternoon. After all, I’ve already been inseminated, so her supervisor didn’t see any risk of further negligence.

Still, I’m far from excited when I walk through the front doors of the sperm bank. Ten days ago I was heartsore but optimistic for the future, yearning for a baby more than anything else in the world. Now I’m dreading the exam.

However my trepidation soon gives way to surprise, because as soon as I enter the facility I have the strangest feeling that Dominic Sinclair is near. It takes me a while to actually find him, behind closed doors with Cora’s bosses in a luxurious, glass-walled conference room, but I don’t have the faintest idea how I knew he was present. I also don’t understand why I feel drawn to him: after all, he’s ruined both my sister’s and my own life. I shouldn’t be excited to see him.

It was dumb luck that I stumbled across his path, the conference room is on the way to Cora’s office, but I find myself stopping to observe the meeting inside. I’m struck speechless when I lay eyes on him. Is it possible that he’s gotten more attractive since the last time I saw him? It was already unfair that somebody that powerful and intelligent could be so handsome, but now it truly just feels like being kicked while I’m down. The bastard has a heart of stone, and still the universe has rained endless gifts upon him while people like Cora and I have nothing.

Shaking myself out of my trance, I continue down the hall, though I feel the weight of dark eyes on my back as I retreat. Cora has clearly been crying when I arrive. Her eyes are red and her cheeks splotchy, though she tries to hide it.

“Hey.” I greet her gently, wrapping her up in a hug. She leans into me, squeezing tight and lingering far longer than she usually would. “Is there any news?”

“Sinclair is in there finalizing it all now. I’m going to be given formal termination notice this afternoon.” She shares, sniffling slightly.

“I’m so sorry, honey.” I croon, rubbing her back.

“It’s okay.” She lies, pulling away. “How are you hanging in there?”

“Not very well.” I confess. “I’m sort of dreading this, to be honest.”

“It’s amazing how fast things can change, huh?” She asks, looking as though she might burst into tears. “I mean, what are we going to do, Elle?”

“Well figure it out.” I promise. “We’ve been in tight spots before.” I remind her, “remember the summer we slept in boxes on the street after we ran away from the orphanage?”

“Yeah,” She nods with a sad smile. “But it’s winter now, I don’t think we’ll last long in the elements. And you weren’t pregnant then.”

“Yeah well, if I’m pregnant now….” I can’t look her in the eyes as I say this, “I don’t think I’m going to stay that way.”

“What?” Cora exclaims, looking horrified. “But this is your only chance! And we aren’t completely hopeless, you’ve got time to try to figure out a plan B.”

That phrase alone reminds me of Mike, and I realize I haven’t shared my latest news with Cora. “I can’t afford a baby even if I do find a job. I’m going to be paying off my debts for years to come.” I share, filling her in on the details of Mike and Kate’s latest betrayal.

“I can’t believe this!” She bursts out when I’m finished. “It just isn’t fair, Ella! I mean, I thought we paid our dues, I thought we were done with suffering. After everything we’ve been through, we deserve a better future than this! You deserve to be a mom – no one loves children more than you do.”

“And you deserve to be a doctor.” I reply. “You worked so hard.”

“I still don’t think you should give up yet.” She frowns. “You can terminate the pregnancy up until the end of the first trimester. It would be a tragedy if you aborted it, then pulled off a miracle and it turned out you could have kept it. Don’t take that risk. Keep the baby until the very last moment.”

“I don’t think miracles happen to people like me.” I remark softly. “Besides that seems kind of like it’s own form of torture – the longer I carry the baby the more attached I’m going to get. I don’t want this to hurt any worse than it has to.”

“It’s going to hurt no matter what.” Cora reasons, “You ought to give yourself a chance – keep the door open. Don’t give up hope completely.”

“Let’s just find out if I have to make that decision in the first place.” I state, changing the subject. “I may not even be pregnant.” Yet even as I say it, I can feel in my heart that I am.

“Okay.” Cora agrees, pulling a sterile cup wrapped in plastic from one of her cabinets. “You know what to do.”

I take the cup and quickly duck into the bathroom to provide a urine sample, returning it to her almost immediately. I pace back and forth across the office as Cora runs the tests. “Well?” I press, seeing the results pop up on her computer screen.

She offers me a sad smile. “Congratulations little sister, you’re going to have a baby.”

I told myself that I wouldn’t fall to pieces no matter the results, but as soon as the words are out of her mouth I’m crying. I’ve been waiting to hear those words for years and was beginning to think I never would. It’s both unimaginable joy, and unimaginable pain. I never knew my heart could hold such conflicting emotions at the same time, let alone in such extremes. “Really?”

“Really.” Cora confirms, hugging me. “Come on, let’s do an ultrasound. You can hear the heartbeat.”

“Isn’t it too early?” I squeak.

“Just one of the benefits of being at the finest lab in the country.” Cora quips, the words bittersweet on her tongue. “Our technology is years ahead of what’s available in public hospitals.”

Climbing onto the raised exam table, I lay back and lift my top, not bothering to change into a gown or cover my clothes with a sheet, I simply expose my flat belly as Cora wheels in an ultrasound on a cart. Within minutes the machine is emitting a strange whoosh woosh woosh, and Cora squirts a dollop of jelly on my tummy. She pressed the wand to my skin, and before long a tiny heartbeat sounds – making me cry all over again.

However Cora is frowning deeply. “This is so strange, the baby seems awfully large, but we tested you at your last visit to be sure you weren’t already pregnant.”

“What does that mean?” I ask anxiously. “Is the father just a big guy?”

“I don’t just mean size – I mean development.” Cora purses her lips and furrows her brows as she studies the images, suddenly looking very worried. She’s whispering now, speaking to herself more than to me. “It doesn’t look human… but that can’t be… it’s not possible.”

“What are you talking about?” I inquire, “How can you tell? Isn’t it just a tiny blob?”

“As I said, our tech is state of the art. It doesn’t just highlight shapes - it analyzes the molecular structure.” Before she can say another word, the door bursts open, startling us both. To my shock and horror, Dominic Sinclair is standing in the doorframe, glaring at us as if we’ve done something terrible. “What’s the meaning of this?” He demands.

“What’s the meaning of this? I repeat in shock, “what’s the meaning of you barging into a private exam?!”

“Because,” He declares fiercely, and I swear his eyes are almost glowing with rage. “I can smell my pup.”

Chapter 6 - He's A Werewolf

“Your pup?” I parrot, realizing I must sound like an idiot the way I keep repeating him – but it’s all too strange and surreal. I feel like I’m having a dream......
__________________

Click to READ more 👉👉 Title: Surrogate for Alpha Dom | LEARN_MORE | https://page.joyreadings.com/h5-book-share-custom4 | 106077262240533 | The novel | https://facebook.com/100085523883301 | 18,995 | 1 | 260,260,820,508,807 | 2024-04-07 02:00 | person_profile | eligible | 0 | 0 | NONE | 0 | 0 | 1 | 0 | Learn more | 0 | The novel | 120206559048290765 | page.joyreadings.com | NONE | video | https://page.joyreadings.com/h5-book-share-custom4.html?lang=en&id=4281&brand=2&app=0&ppid=1096&pid=FBW2A&campaign={{campaign.id}}&adset_id={{adset.id}}&ad_id={{ad.id}}&utm_source=FBW2A&utm_medium={{placement}}&utm_campaign={{campaign.id}}&utm_term={{adset.id}}&utm_content={{ad.id}} | 2024-04-07 03:11 | https://scontent-atl3-2.xx.fbcdn.net/v/t39.35426-6/436378916_948914569788962_6451822168619506316_n.jpg?stp=dst-jpg_s60x60&_nc_cat=105&ccb=1-7&_nc_sid=c53f8f&_nc_ohc=7wx0nFKwiuMAb7IU1Mi&_nc_ht=scontent-atl3-2.xx&oh=00_AfD3LUmXIG5JMGXVlVvyE3jQxeCQ9WRrYeDKXzsmegvyJw&oe=6618D6A6 | person_profile | 0 | The novel | https://scontent-atl3-1.xx.fbcdn.net/v/t39.35426-6/436243612_342268558354051_8751628937512510138_n.jpg?_nc_cat=107&ccb=1-7&_nc_sid=c53f8f&_nc_ohc=uIHRyf8pncIAb7dI8md&_nc_ht=scontent-atl3-1.xx&oh=00_AfBX1ZsfxOFftLADTIjsFpEvrpwyylc3j0TAUkBK9ncGvQ&oe=6618E3F6 | 0 | 3 | The novel | 0 | 0 | 2024-04-07 02:00 | View Edit Delete | |||||||||||||||||||||

Hudson gives my hand another squeeze. Looking up at him with a sad smile.
"On my birthday I found my mate. When I first figured it out who he was I ran back home. He came to the party. Sort of. We went somewhere to talk alone. One thing led to another and we mated," I glanced over to Elliott, his hand is tightly gripping his glass. "After that we got into an argument. He rejected me because he wants to stay with the mate he chose. I've been trying to be OK with this but it got complicated today. I'm pregnant. I was having a heated conversation with Conor about what I wanted to do. Hudson was trying to calm me down, I didn't even know he was home. I gave him the black eye. I'm so incredibly sorry."
Tears streaming down my face and my breathing is erratic. Elliott pushes back from the table and throws his glass at the wall making us all jump.
------
I walk into the kitchen where my mom already has a towel for me.
"Thanks Mom, "
"Happy birthday my sweet girl"
She wraps the towel around my shoulders and gives me a big hug. I hear her sniffling and I let go.
"What's wrong, Mom?"
"You're finally 18 and that means you'll be able to find your mate today."
"I'm really not trying to think about it Mom. What is he doesn't want me?" Finding my feet more interesting to look at.
My dad stands up from the stool and walks over to me. He hooks finger underneath my chin, making me look up at him.
"He is going to love you. We raised you to be sweet, kind, caring but fierce when you need to be. Don't let any man tell you otherwise. And happy birthday."
He bent down and pecked my forehead. Walking back in the kitchen to clean up dishes from breakfast.
"I think I'm going to go for a run," I say while drying off my hair.
Walking back up the stairs to my room, I can hear Elliott and Hudson laughing. Grabbing a pair of black sweatpants, a T-shirt and new panties, I quickly get changed in the bathroom. Looking in the mirror to see how bad my hair is. Cringing at the mess, I go to brush my hair out.
Once I'm done I head to the kitchen to quickly grab a bowl of cereal. My mom already has the stuff I like out on the counter for me. I walk over to her and give her a peck on the cheek.
"Where did Dad, Hudson and Elliot runoff to?" I said before taking a huge mouth full of cereal.
"They're just getting something from town. They should be back when you come back from your run."
Nodding my head, I finish eating my breakfast. My mom takes my bowl and put it in the dishwasher.
"Thanks Mom. Shouldn't be too long today. Maisie is restless today. She's making me go crazy in here."
Going out the back door I run to the tree lines. I found the tree that we all hide our clothes when we go for runs. Thankfully it got warmer so this isn't terrible. I quickly strip out of my clothes and start to shift.
It doesn't hurt that much anymore, I've been doing it since I was 16. Everyone in the pack begins to shift then but only when you turn 18 is when you can find your mate.
Shaking my silver fur out, I run deeper into the forest.
"Maisie, why are you so restless?"
"I just have a feeling we are going to meet our mate today"
"I don't wanna get your hopes up if it doesn't happen. Trust me I'm just as nervous and excited but it took Hudson six months to find his and she wasn't even from this pack."
"Let's just try to enjoy the run before the party tonight."
About halfway through my run I stop suddenly. The most intoxicating smell is driving me crazy. It smells like pine trees with sandalwood and a little bit of chocolate.
"That is our mate!"
I follow the smell, running as fast as i can. Once I get to the top of the hill, I can see him. Well I can only see the back of him, but even still he is the most handsome man I have seen. He's not wearing a shirt, his back muscles contract as he does push-ups. His hair shaved on the sides and longer on the top. It's the darkest black I've seen.
At that moment he must smell me because he gets up slowly. All of his muscles are tense as he turns around. Once I can see who he is the excitement drains from my body. No way!
He takes one step toward us. I turn around and run towards home.
"Turn back around! That's our mate!" Maisie whines.
"I know! But we can't be with him and I know you know why."
Maisie whimpers because she understands. Our soul is broken in that moment.
I reached the tree and quickly get changed. I run back into the house trying to keep my tears from falling until I get to my room. My family is in the living room as a sprint past them.
"How was your run?" My dad asks.
Ignoring all of them, I run up the stairs to my bedroom. Slam the door closed and jump in to my bed. Soon as my head hits my pillow, I can't stop the tears now.
Why did it have to be him? He knew for two years and never once said anything to me about it. Of course my mate is Royal.
...
The party is a blast. Basically half of the pack it's here in the house. Chloe and Emily are doing a great job at keeping my brothers distracted.
Jade and I are dancing in the living room with Conor and Eli. The four of us have been best friends since preschool. Since we graduated high school, we have been inseparable all summer.
While I'm dancing with Conor, I get the feeling that someone is watching me. I try looking around to see who it is but both of my brothers are nowhere to be seen.
"I'm going to go outside for a couple minutes. I need to cool down," I yell at my friends.
Walking through the giant crowd in the living room, I go into the kitchen to grab some water and make my way to the backyard.
There are a couple people outside mingling. They all wish me happy birthday. I walk across the patio and take a seat on the floating chair.
I still feel like someone's watching me. But as I go to stand up, the hairs on the back of my neck stand straight up. I freeze breathing in deeply. That intoxicating smell makes a small shiver run through my body. I slowly turn my head towards the tree line.
Royal is standing against a tree. I can't look away from him. It's like everything else in the world just doesn't exist. He motions for me to follow him as he turns around.
Maisie is hollering at me to follow him. I really want to. Honestly, I did not expect him to show up. That gives me some hope. Maybe Maisie is right, maybe he wants to explain. My heart quickly over powers my mind and I followed him into the woods.
...
Once I'm all dressed, I turn around to see him facing the opposite direction. All of his muscles are tense and he is shaking. I slowly walk up to him and touch his arm. He shakes off my arm and growls at me. I take a couple steps back.
"We should have never done that," he says clearly angry.
My whole body stiffens. He turns around to look at me.
"You're the one who knew that I was your mate for two years! You never said anything to me! And yet you still stayed with Cassie! You chose her over me!" I snapped back at him.
"You're right I did choose Cassie, because I love her and I have loved her since we were 10 years old! And I will continue to choose Cassie!"
I can't hold back the tears anymore. Keeping my arms at my sides, I dig my finger nails into my palms.
"So you're going to choose her knowing that you have a mate, the other half of your soul, because you've been together for 10 years."
"Yes."
"You are so unbelievably selfish. Denying with the moon goddess wanted, what our wolves need!" I yell at him."So why did you just mate me!?"
"Because my wolf was going insane without you. He wanted me to mark you but I can't do that. I won't do it!" He growls at me, taking a step closer to me.
Tears running down my cheeks as I bend my head down and let out a sob. I can see Royals feet standing in front of me.
"Look at me," He says roughly.
I shake my head no. My whole body trembling for what I know is coming.
He hooks finger underneath my chin and pushes my head up so I'm looking into his eyes. I take a step back so I don't feel the tingling.
"Please. Don't do this," I beg him.
"I, Royal Anderson, reject you Victoria West," he says and walks away.
I fall to my knees, my hand over my heart has I gasp in air. Maisie is whining. Our soul crushed. I let out a mix between a scream and a sob into the forest.
I wait about 15 minutes trying to collect myself. I start to walk back home.
"Why would he do this to us?" Maisie whimpers.
"Because he's an prick. He loves Cassie. He doesn't want us Maisie! We are going to be better off without him," I snapped back at her.
"But you know that we need him."
"We don't need any man, especially one like Royal. We are going to have to be strong together. We will be strong."
Stepping back onto the patio, Jade comes out.
"I have been looking everywhere for yo-" she stops as soon as she sees my face.
Tears start running down my face again. I hug her as tight as I can.
"He rejected me," I cry into her shoulder.
"Let's go upstairs and you can tell me everything while I fix your make up," she says well wiping some of the tears off my face.
We both run upstairs and I tell her everything except who he is. I can't have any of us acting differently around him. Is my family finds out at him, it's going to cause all kinds of problems. He's Alpha and my dad is still one of the head warriors.
Finishing my make up, we had back downstairs. The party just blurs together. My heart is breaking. I know we can get through this. We have to.
...
6 weeks later
The first week after Royal rejected me I stayed in bed. My parents were worried, both of my brothers tried to get me to talk about what was wrong and Jade was with me every single day.
After that the weeks have gone by quickly. Jade and I have been out every day. Either at the pool, driving around in the Jeep with Conor and Eli and enjoying the summer.
Every morning we decided to go on runs together. That has been super helpful. Conor and Eli don't know I was rejected. Only Jade knows. I think my dad suspects something happened with my mate but he hasn't asked yet.
The four of us are on our way to the store to pick up some things for the pool. We each pick out a new raft. The boys are going to grab snacks while Jade and I go to find more tanning oil and sunscreen.
We both grab a couple of each and start walking toward the registers.
"Oh wait! While we're here I need to grab more tampons before next week," Jade says that she grabs my arm and pulls me down the aisle.
As she is looking for hers, I'm lost in my own thoughts. I normally get my period before hers. Counting back to the days quickly, trying to figure out how late I am. She finds what she's looking for and tosses it into the cart.
"Are you OK?" She asks.
I look at her, my eyes are wide and I shake my head no. I can't even get the words out. I swallow hard trying to find the nerve to speak. Thank the moon goddess I don't have to, she looks up at me and gasps.
"Oh, you're late," she says with a hand over her mouth.
Conor and Eli find us as we both just stare at each other.
"We got everything we need," Eli says. Dumping everything into the cart.
"Why don't you guys go check out, we both want to go and look at something real quick," Jade quickly says shoving the cart at Conor and shooing them away.
With them quickly gone we both quickly run to get tests. I grab the box with three of them. We check out quickly at the pharmacy and I hide the test in my purse.
We quickly meet up with the boys in the parking lot loading up the Jeep. I get in the driver side and start of the Jeep. Once we are all loaded up, we had back home.
Pulling into the driveway, we all grab bags and head inside. We leave all the snacks out on the kitchen island.
"We're going to go outside and start blowing up the rafts. Go get changed so we can go swimming," Connor says.
We both run upstairs and slam my bedroom door. I grab the test box out of my purse and open it up.
"I feel like sick to my stomach," I tell Jade.
"Well good thing you're already going to be in the bathroom," she deadpans. "Grab your swimsuit, go pee on those and by the time we're both done getting ready they should be ready," Jade says calmly.
I grab my bikini and the three tests, closing the bathroom door. I quickly take all three and to turn them over. Getting changed into my bikini. I can't stop my hands from shaking. Trying to take deep breaths as I pace back-and-forth.
Going up to the counter I turn all three over and look down. I pick one up and read the word, pregnant.
I yell checking the other two.
I open the bathroom door, Jade looks up at me. Couple tears fall down my cheeks and she's instantly hugging me.
"I'm going to be a mom," I say softly as my whole body shakes.
"You are going to be the best mom. You don't need him. He doesn't deserve anything," she replies.
Conor and Eli come in. Stopping dead in their the tracks to try to piece and what's going on. Conor spots the test in my hand and looks up at me. I let go of Jade to stand in front of them.
Eli looks over at Conor but Conor won't take his eyes off of me.
"Are you really?" Conor whispers.
Nodding my head, he instantly grabs me up in a hug. Resting his chin on my head. He pecks the top of my head. He puts both of his hands on the side of my face and makes me look at him, using his thumbs to wipe away my tears.
"Who?" He asks gently.
"My mate. My birthday, I found him. We mated and he did not mark me. He rejected me right after." I say sobbing.
Eli and Conor both growl wildly. I look over at Eli and his eyes are almost black. He runs out of my room as I yelled for him to come back. He slams the front door and shifts. Running to the woods.
The three of us go downstairs silently and start making lunch. I can't stop my hands from shaking. I grabbed everything we need for outside and set it outside on the table.
I sit down in the chair staring off at the tree line waiting for Eli to come back. Jade squeezes my hand.
"He'll be back soon. He just needs to wolf out. He's not mad at you," Jade says.
"No I'm not mad at you. I am mad at that jack hip," Eli says coming over to give me a hug.
He hugs me tightly picking me up. Setting me down gently, pecking my forehead and taking a seat next to Conor. We all eat our lunch.
Grabbing my new floaty, I place it on the edge so I can climb in and rest on it. They join me a couple minutes later.
"I have to tell my family today," I say randomly.
"We can be there when you do, if you want," Jade says and both guys agree.
"No. I have to do this alone. And I have to come up with a plan on what I'm going to do. I can't stay here."
"What do you mean you can't stay here?! Your family is here and we are here!" Conor yells.
"And so is my mate who rejected me for someone else!" I snap back.
I jump off my float and into the water. Swimming over to the steps to get out. I grab my towel and dry off my face.
"You think I want to leave?! Do you think it's going to be easy to say goodbye to you three and my family?! I have to do this alone! The one person who is supposed to be there, who was made to be my other half, mated me, rejected me to be with someone else and now I'm pregnant with his pup! He doesn't get to know, he doesn't deserve to get a say in this kids life anymore!" I holler while sobbing.
All three of them look at me. Not saying a thing. Because they know I'm right. An arm wraps around my shoulders and I growl spinning around and punch whoever just grabbed me in the eye.
All three of them rush out of the pool. Eli scoops me up and carries me over to the recliner. Jade rushed over to who I punched and Conor runs inside for a ice pack.
I'm shaking and I don't know if it's because of the anger or being scared. Conor gives Jade one ice pack then slowly walks over towards me.
"I won't punch you. I don't know what came over me. I'm sorry."
"You just went into protective mama mode on Hudson's hip," Conor says chuckling.
I let Conor wrap my hand in the ice pack. I rest my head on his shoulder.
"Did he hear me yelling?" I whisper.
"Unfortunately, I heard every word," Hudson says. | LEARN_MORE | https://a.topicksapp.com/ad/dGlnZXJyZWFkZXIvMTQzMT | 106700359177506 | Picks002 | https://facebook.com/100095293115204 | 15 | 1 | 2,003,578,863,440,444 | 2024-04-07 02:00 | person_profile | eligible | 0 | 0 | NONE | 0 | 0 | 1 | 0 | Learn more | 0 | Picks002 | 120208944080940042 | a.topicksapp.com | NONE | video | https://a.topicksapp.com/ad/dGlnZXJyZWFkZXIvMTQzMTI2LzIwMjQwNDA3MTM0NTM5L3BhZ2U=?adid={{ad.id}} | 2024-04-07 00:50 | https://scontent-atl3-2.xx.fbcdn.net/v/t39.35426-6/436336682_3339808359659949_1824195366267171903_n.jpg?stp=dst-jpg_s60x60&_nc_cat=101&ccb=1-7&_nc_sid=c53f8f&_nc_ohc=JRxNlZ2bhnkAb4p56Q_&_nc_ht=scontent-atl3-2.xx&oh=00_AfBtydfypvEjJfLZ1Se3HUQOGkwBHHM3t2nIa_o-oHU5jg&oe=6618DEC9 | person_profile | 0 | Picks002 | https://scontent-atl3-2.xx.fbcdn.net/v/t39.35426-6/435476310_864436605454079_6176337021204938273_n.jpg?_nc_cat=101&ccb=1-7&_nc_sid=c53f8f&_nc_ohc=fBUa5i-tFuYAb4p-ppz&_nc_ht=scontent-atl3-2.xx&oh=00_AfDW1h3y9K44Lb0mHdCdtECMkpO2lT_bLviCQ5RrM0dFhQ&oe=6618EF21 | 0 | 3 | Picks002 | 0 | 0 | 2024-04-07 02:00 | View Edit Delete | |||||||||||||||||||||

Yes | 2024-04-07 16:42 | active | 455 | 0 | 25085981164382017 | Read with Your Ears➤➤ | "Justin, though you are my twin sister's mate. My dad is really mad at you and Raven being mates." Twin sister Reagan said to my mate.
"I don't mind rejecting her, but I would have been embarrassed to face my mate" Justin said.
"My father has decided to appoint me as his future Alpha not my sister Raven. So, I will be your luna." Reagan said to Justin.
********
I silently run through the woods letting my wolf Emerald out tonight. She has been anxious all day, well really the last few days, and I could tell that she needed to come out for a run.
Alpha Cole Walker is the Alpha of the Blood Walker pack. He is said to be one of the most dangerous Alphas in the United States. It is said that he would hurt anyone who dared to enter his pack uninvited. Due to this fact, most of our pack members studiously avoid this area altogether.
My twin sister, Reagan, is the golden child of the pack. They all love her unconditionally. She is cherished and appreciated, no matter what she does. They all seem to ignore the fact that she is a horrible and mean she-wolf. I was born first, and with that should come the respect that after I find my mate, I will officially be the Luna here, and he will take over as the Alpha of the pack. Yet they all treat her as the next Luna.
My sister and I are the only children that our parents had. The Goddess never blessed them with another child, even though they tried for years. My father, Alpha Graham Sullivan, is very strict with me. I am not allowed to leave my room other than to eat my meals and then return back to my room again. I am also not allowed to leave our pack for any reason. I have never even crossed the border of the Sliver Blade pack in my life.
I was the Alpha's daughter, but I was not a valued member of this pack. Telling on me has always resulted in a bonus for whoever told on me to my father. I have had to learn how to overcome this on my own. It has made me very independent over the years, as well as a very good climber. I use the tree outside my window at the pack house, to climb up and down to get in and out of my room.
From my vantage point, I can see who is coming now and rolled my eyes so hard I almost saw my brain. It was Reagan, and she was pulling the arm of a pretty large guy, as she headed toward the grassy bank near my tree. I realized right this moment that I have picked a terrible place to hide. I should have doubled back and then climbed in my window to my room and I would have been safe and sound in my room. Reagan is clearly out with one of her many men, as she was allowed to stay out and do whatever she wanted to. I mean how else could she beat me to finding her mate if she didn't flirt with all the unmated men in our pack? I rolled my eyes again and then froze when I looked at them again and got a good look at his face.
That smell coming off of him was starting to drive me wild, he smelled like freshly baked cinnamon buns, and I was now pissed off. She had come here with the guy that I had a crush on, someone with whom she had never shown any interest in before. It was our Beta's son and the guy that I have had a crush on for the last year and a half.
"No, don't stop them, Raven, she has already been dating with him for the last few months. This is not the first time, it has been well before he returned to the pack earlier this week. They are together now, dating, and they have both vowed to reject their actual mates to stay together to take over and run this pack. Please, just try to bear it, I will help you get through it. I am glad that you are in a secure location, this may make you pass out" Emerald linked me, and I felt physically sick.
"How do you know this? Did she know that he is my mate? Why can't I approach him? Maybe he wants me, Emerald. Please let me stop this. He might not know that I am his mate, he may still want me, want US! I don't want to lose him, Emerald. He may not be aware his true mate is here. Can't he already smell our scent up here, like I smelled his scent? Are you sure that this is the only way? Please Emerald" I linked her back, and I feel the tears that are already sliding down my face. I have questions, and I need answers.
I am frustrated. I don't want to give up on my true mate. He doesn't even know that I am here, and I do want him. I don't want to give him up, especially not to my sister Reagan. I don't know if I can survive this level of betrayal.
"I can't wait for mom and dad to announce to the pack that we will be the Alpha and Luna tomorrow. This is something that I have really wanted for the last 8 years. I am so glad you decided that we could be chosen mates. " My sister says to my mate.
"Besides, I am also glad that you are willing to lead the Silver Blade pack with me. I have a feeling that my freak of a sister who keeps staring at you is going to be crushed when she finds out that we are together. You dodged by deciding to accept me as your chosen mate. I know that she has a crush on you, so she would probably try to ask you out or something when she sees that you are back from break." She adds.
"I think we will be so happy together. Raven will be so angry when she finds out that we planned this months ago. I cannot wait for her to find out. I even told mom to have her sit on the front row for the pack meeting tomorrow, so I can see her face when dad makes the announcement. I am going to put her next to you so it will hurt her more when dad calls you up on stage. When she realizes that her crush is going to be my mate, she is going to be so jealous of me. I am so going to get a picture of her face when she finds out, as I will want to remember that moment for a long time" I heard Reagan say to him, and I was so choked up I couldn't hold in the sob of pain that managed to escape.
It wasn't loud, but with werewolf hearing, it was loud enough. I just stayed completely still and prayed that they hadn't heard me, but Justin started talking when my sob escaped, and they had no reaction, so I think I am safe.
"I have always thought that you were a she-wolf, Reagan. I am so glad that you came up to my training with your offer, and for us to get extra special time together. If Raven were allowed to move around the pack, I don't think that she would be missing the fact that she is my mate. I scented her today when I got back to the pack and confirmed she is my mate. Per our agreement, I don't mind rejecting her, as I am clearly getting the better sister out of this deal. I would have been embarrassed to have to call that freak of nature my mate" Justin said, and with it, my heart was completely crushed.
These two evil people deserved each other, and I will not waste another tear on his betrayal. He "chose" her, so he can keep her. She will never be faithful to him, and he will not ever be able to trust that their children are his either. She was just doing this to ensure that they become the next Alpha and Luna. She is what he wanted, so she can have him. I am thoroughly disgusted by both of them, and I will not allow them to make me sad one more day. I had already decided to get out of this horrible pack, and I will not miss the Silver Blade pack for a second.
"She is your mate? Are you serious? Oh, this is the best" Reagan said as she laughed out in joy at hearing this information. "Justin, why haven't you mentioned this to me before?" Reagan continued.
"I just found out about it earlier today as I have been gone for my training for the last 4 months. I caught my mate's scent and followed it so I could go ahead and reject them. I realized it was coming from the Alpha level, and when I went up and it led me straight to her door, it was really faint, but I sensed it. She doesn't even know it yet. I am sure that this information is not going to go over well with your parents. They may be upset when they find out. Are they still going to want us to move forward with our plan? Or are they going to want me and Raven to be mates because we are true mates?" Justin asked Reagan. I have to admit, I was interested in her reply as well, but I already suspected what the answer was going to be.
"Oh no Justin, you will definitely be staying with me. I know dad is really going to get a kick out of you and Raven being mates. Mom might feel a little bad for her, but I think that this is great. I could not be happier that her true mate, will become my chosen mate.
We will rule the Silver Blade pack together, and it will hurt her every day to see us together. It is my pack any way, it was never going to be hers. Maybe if we are lucky since she doesn't have a wolf, she won't be able to scent you, and your rejection might even hurt her when you do it. That would be the best-case scenario for all of us" Reagan said, and I could tell that Justin was a little shocked at how hateful she was. Reagan could tell that Justin was not liking this side of her so she quickly changed her attitude and started cooing at Justin, "She doesn't deserve you, baby, I love you and I want you. Hopefully, you will come to love me too.
I was just worried, I don't want you falling in love with my sister after we have already mated." Reagan said to Justin, looking up at him adoringly through her long lashes. I have to admit, she really knows how to work people to do what she wants them to. Her ability to look innocent and pure is without measure, she could have been an actress.
"Dad hates Raven. He will be very happy about this. He has never loved her since the day that she was born. Mom might be a little upset, but she will get over it. She and dad are chosen mates, she gave up her true mate to become the Luna of the Silver Blade pack. She did it herself, and if it is good enough for her, then it is good enough for me to do it as well. We make the perfect couple. We will have strong pups, and our pack will flourish" Reagan said, and I am stunned. I knew my dad was mean, but to hate me, why? What reason could he possibly have for hating me? My parents have told the whole pack numerous times through the years that they were true mates. They are very affectionate with each other in front of the pack. I didn't even know that they weren't true mates. What else don't I know about them?
"We will do the same thing. You will have to reject Raven first thing in the morning, or after the pack meeting. But you will have to do it where no one else will hear you. Dad is going to tell the pack that we are true mates, so they will fully support us. Dad thinks that it would be a mistake to not have the pack's full support behind us when we go to take it over from my parents" Reagan said, and I am amazed at all the plans that they have kept away from me. Just another thing that shows how much difference there is between Reagan and me. I hear them touching again and wonder when they plan on leaving the area, don't they need to get back to the pack house?
I narrow my eyes at Reagan, as she is ecstatic about getting to truly rub all of my misfortune in right now. Justin is getting the opportunity to reject me, so the situation that we are now in is all positive for them.
"Raven, why are you out of the house? Are you supposed to be out here? Are you OK? That fall looked like it hurt pretty bad" I hear my sister ask me with an innocent look on her face like she cared about me. She was fully aware of how I am kept a prisoner here at the Silver Blade pack. I really have to get out of here. I needed to check and see how badly I am hurt because I don't know if I even have time to go pack a bag now. I may be having to leave here with nothing, but I am OK with that. I just need to get the heck out of here. I will figure out what I need to do after I am safely free of Silver Blade.
"Are you ignoring me, Raven? Are you sure you want to do that to me? Fine then, I will just make sure that you get punished for leaving your room. You are not supposed to be out here anyway. I will just let dad know that you are out here, and he will take care of you" Reagan said with a smirk, and then she started mind linking.
I and my wolf were running away from this pack. But they caught us immediately.
"If you come back here now Raven, I won't punish you for leaving your room without permission" I heard my father tell me.
"Nothing in the world could possess me to do that father," I told him, and I see his eyes glazing over as he goes to link someone. I could care less what they have to say to me, and I turned to walk away.
"You will get punishment in the Blood Walker pack. You know how dangerous they are Raven, you have heard this fact for your whole life. They cannot be trusted, and you are now a rogue. We have told you, and the whole pack, exactly what happens to those who trespass on their land. The moment they scent you they will move in, and you will die today. Is that what you want? Do you want to die? I will get you more freedom in the pack. I will allow you to go to the library every day instead of once a week. How does that sound?" my mother's voice is calming and comforting. She has never before sounded as nice as this, and I know that dad put her up to try to lure me back into the Siler Blade pack. They must be desperate to do it, so I want to see how far they intended to go with it.
"Let me ask you this mother. Was the plan to get Justin to take Reagan as a chosen mate her idea, or dad's?" I asked her. Mom is not a very good liar. I can see her expression as we are only about 20 feet apart from each other right now.
"I don't know what you are talking about Raven, they are mates," my mom said to me, and now I smirk at her. Clearly, mom was keeping me out of the loop and doesn't know that I know for a fact that they aren't.
"Thanks for always lying to me mom. That makes it so much easier on me. I will not be coming back to the Silver Blade pack. This is the last time, Goddess willing, that you all will probably see me and actually I am welcoming the death that is coming to me. It will be better than the life I have lived since Reagan tried to hurt me, and my own dad called me a liar when I told him what actually happened. Justin is not her mate mom, and I know this because he is MY mate. It is disgusting what all you three have done to me and allowed to be done to me my whole life. I never deserved to be treated the way I was. I can only hope that I can find my way and get to live a life that allows me to find someone who loves me and realizes that I am a good person. I don't think that is too much to ask for, do you mom? It seems like you and dad are willing to do anything to get me to come back over the fence, but we both know that if I did come back, I would either immediately be thrown in the cells. So, I will take my chances over here, where at least I have a chance" I told them and turned again to leave. I only made it a few steps before I was stopped again by my father's hateful words.
"You are ungrateful daughter, How do you have the nerve to say that to me? I have clothed and fed you, provided you a room, and let you go to school. I did take care of you, and it is disgusting to see how you repay me. Lying about Justin being your mate. Trying to take your sister's mate away from her. I know that I can speak for your mother as well as myself when I say that we hope the Blood Walker pack disposes of you quickly. I only wish I could punish you myself" my dad roared out, and the hate was coming off of him in waves.
"You disgust me father," I told him and the tone I used to draw out the word father let him know just how little I thought of him being my father. "I have never done anything to cause a problem or disruption in the pack, or in the family. I did what I was told this whole time. Even as knowing that you let the whole pack know that I was fair game if they wanted to hurt me, and they did dad, over and over again. You know what, it was my family that really took the award for the most torment. Your unwarranted hate, mom never supporting me, and my sister allowed to try to hurt me, and incite others up against me made me realize that life will be much better on this side of the border than it was on that side. Even if I only live an hour more, it would be better than the years I spent over there."
I wiped off my tears and walked past them, suddenly, I hear something coming to me…

>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
Wanna continue this incredible story? He had always been proud of his surname since he was a child, and he strived to bring glory to this family when he grew older.

At last, Levi had established Levi Group, the largest dark horse in North Hampton's business community.

With billions of assets, it ranked among the forefront of North Hampton, pushing the declining Garrison family to the top.

However, not only did the Garrison family showed no signs of appreciation, they even harbored dissatisfaction towards him. Jealous of his success, they regarded him as a thorn in their flesh and coveted Levi Group.

No matter his wealth and power, unless they were in control, he was just an outsider in the Garrison family's eyes.

Eventually, on Levi's wedding night, the Garrison family plotted a frame-up against him by getting him drunk before tossing him onto his sister-in-law's bed. They wanted to create the illusion that he was doing something untoward to her and was caught in bed by his brother and adoptive parents.

That night, the Garrison family had brutally broken his limbs and left him on the road like a wild dog.

Not only was he handicapped, but he also had to take the flak for something he didn't commit.

From an upstart in the business world, he had become the target of disdain overnight.

And the next day, he had been punished for several crimes and sentenced to six years in prison.

He could never forget the ruthless and sinister faces of everyone in the Garrison family and the ridicule of his friends, classmates, and business partners.

More so, he could never forget the disappointment on his newly wedded wife, Zoey's face.

He had regarded the Garrison family as his home and devoted himself to the family.

Yet, they treated him like trash.

It felt as if a knife was being twisted in his heart every time he thought about this.

How he hated the Garrison family!

But who would have thought that Levi had been secretly transferred away from prison to join the military?

In a few years, he dominated the military world and became the one and only five-star God of War.

Now that he came back, the Garrison family ought to stay on their toes.

“How's it going, Azure Dragon?” Levi asked.

Azure Dragon, the commander of the Five Great Wars Regiment, took a step forward and said respectfully, “Sir, I'm afraid your wife, Ms. Zoey Lopez will remarry at ten o'clock tonight!”

Ever since Zoey's husband was sent to prison on their wedding night, she had been living like a widow.

Only God knew how much pressure she was put under.

And right now, the person Levi couldn't wait to see the most was Zoey.

After a moment of hesitation, Azure Dragon continued, “To add on, Sir, the Garrison family is holding a successful listing celebration banquet at the Crystal Palace Hotel tonight! Many people had invited the God of War just now, including the Garrison family, but I didn't accept nor refuse directly.”

“What time?” Levi asked tersely.

“Eight o'clock, Sir.”

“Okay. Tell the Garrison family I will attend the banquet!”

Since the time for the two events didn't clash, Levi gladly accepted the invitation.

The celebration banquet for the public listing of Garrison Group was held at North Hampton's Crystal Palace Hotel.

With the help of Levi Group, they had become a rich and powerful family in one fell swoop.

The hall was bustling with noise and excitement, and sounds of glasses clinking could be heard ringing in the air every now and then.

“God bless the Garrison family,” said Joseph, the head of the Garrison family. “The younger generations are the stars among men. Garrison Group is now listed and has become an upstart in North Hampton!”

Joseph's three sons and daughter welcomed their guests with bright smiles on their faces.

The younger generation of the Garrison family was all the smugger and prouder because, after today, the Garrison family would become a powerful family, and they would become one of the top rich kids.

Most of the guests who attended today's banquet were from the top circle in North Hampton.

“Garrison, do you know what happened today?! Your celebration party is nothing compared to that.” They were gossiping about the major event that had happened today.

“Yeah! I heard that a big shot has arrived in North Hampton!”

“The richest man in North Hampton wanted to meet him but was shooed away. Apparently, he's not qualified enough!”

“So? Jesse Nielsen had been waiting for five hours in advance at the airport!”

Joseph nodded. “Yes, I know about that too. I even sent someone to invite this big shot to the celebration party!”

“No way! Why would this big shot attend such a party?”

No one believed it.

In fact, as an upstart, Joseph was just trying his luck.

“Dad!” shouted Jaycob, the second eldest son of the Garrison family could be seen running over. “The big shot has accepted our invitation to attend our celebration banquet! He's on the way!”

“Jesus! God has indeed blessed the Garrison family!”

Everyone in the Garrison family could barely conceal their delight as this was their chance to reach the sky in a single bound.

The grandchildren of the Garrison family gathered together, sunshine flooding their souls.

Levi's brother, Bryan, and sister-in-law, Victoria, smiled. “Well, it all starts with Levi's imprisonment that the Garrison family is at where we are today...”

“Right, speaking about Levi, do you guys know today's the day that kid gets out of prison?!” somebody asked abruptly.

“Really? Isn't that bad luck? Why did he have to be released on such a big day?!”

“Please, please, please don't come back! He's the Garrison family's biggest disgrace!”

Victoria's lips tugged into a sneer. “Speaking of which, Levi is the crowning glory of the Garrison family's status today.”

“That's what he's supposed to do!” Bryan said. “He should contribute to the Garrison family for raising him, an orphan! His multi-billion Levi Group means nothing. To put it bluntly, he's just a dog raised by the Garrison family!”

Someone gave a chortle. “As a matter of fact, I've been interested in Levi's wife for a long time now. She's still widowed, and I'm so going to marry her!”

The man's remark caused gales of laughter.

“Everyone, stop what you're doing. I have an important announcement to make,” Joseph said and went on to announce that the big shot was coming.

A thunderous applause was heard.

But when the applause had died down, there was still someone clapping.

The sound was loud and clear, approaching from afar.

On the red carpet, a man came clapping, looking bold and energetic.

His stride gave off a majestic and imposing aura, which made the mass hold their breaths.

“It's Levi!” Bryan and Victoria exclaimed.

Suddenly, all eyes were riveted on him.

“I forgot this little brat got out of jail today!” Levi's adoptive parents spoke in unison.

Ignoring the astonished gazes darted at his way, Levi walked step by step towards Joseph.

“A little bird told me that the company is now listed. How are you feeling, Joseph? Are you happy?”

Levi flashed him a meaningful smile.

“How dare you show up here, you insolent brat! And what did you just call me?” Joseph's fury sprang to life.

“Who let him in? Didn't you know he just got out of prison? How inauspicious!”

Bryan rose to his feet. “…… are you doing here, Levi?”

Levi sized him up. “Why can't I be here?”

“Well, for starters, you're an orphan! The Garrison family has raised you, but you were ambitious and ungrateful. You had inordinate ambitions for your sister-in-law, and you wanted to take possession of the Garrison family! You'd even tried to kill your parents when things go south! Have you no conscience? Do you have any sense of morality left in your heart?”

“You've lost your reputation in North Hampton, and everyone knows that. Have you no shame to have the brass neck to come round here?”

“Everyone knows why you're back. You want to leech off the Garrison family; you want our money, isn't it?!”

“You've long been expelled from the Garrison family, you ungrateful wretch! The Garrison family has nothing to do with you! Now, get lost!”

Levi's adoptive parents rose to their feet and pointed at his nose, hurling abusive remarks at him.

The Garrison family's brazenness of distorting the truth was mind-bending.

How disappointing!

He had thought they would feel somewhat apologetic after six years, but they were unexpectedly more aggravated.

They took everything from him, crippled him, and ruined his reputation, turning everything upside down and making everything his fault instead.

The Garrison family didn't have the slightest bit of compassion to speak of.

Bryan zipped towards Levi, assessing him condescendingly. “Hmph! Don't you just want money now that you're back?”

Flap!

Bryan threw a credit card to the ground and lifted his foot, shaking his leather shoe. “My vamp is dirty. Lick it clean, and the one million in this card is yours!”

His words elicited a fresh burst of laughter as the crowd looked at Levi as if they were looking at a dog.

“Oh my! One million? That's more than enough to cover his living expenses. I bet he'll lick it!”

Victoria gave a wry look.

“On your knees!” Bryan roared, seeing that Levi was glaring at him. “Now, lick my shoe!”

Levi stared at him coldly and held his peace.

“Kneel!!!”

Bryan rushed to Levi and pressed his shoulders, forcing him to kneel, but the latter didn't budge.

“I said kneel!!!”

Bryan struggled to rivet him to the spot.

“Drop dead!”

Levi suddenly slapped Bryan in the face, sending him flying almost eight meters away.

Silence engulfed the room; one could even hear a pin drop!

Unbelievable!

Everyone in the Garrison family was stupefied.

What did Levi just do?

Did he just knock Bryan to the ground with a single slap?

Plod!

Bryan was about to get up when Levi stepped on him, crushed him, and crossed over him.

Looking at the approaching Levi, Joseph instinctively stepped back.

Levi went up the stage and adjusted the microphone stand.

Everyone looked at him, wondering what he was going to do next.

“Listen up, everyone...”

“I'm sure you remember what happened six years ago, yes? For the love and care I had received from the Garrison family during childhood, I'm giving you one month to kneel before me for three days and three nights to repent your sins!”

“Remember, that's everyone from the Garrison family!”

“If I don't see any shadow within a month, the outcome is simple—I swear I'll wipe off every single one of you here today!”

Levi's voice was low and deep.

But as soon as he finished, the crowd was laughing like a drain.

“Did prison life eat his brain or what? What conceited nonsense is he spouting?”

“The Garrison family right now is a juggernaut in North Hampton. He's just a criminal. Isn't it a pipe dream to destroy the Garrison family?”

“Did he knock his brain loose or something?”

...

“Bear in mind that I have limited patience. You only have one month! Of course, you may gather your strengths and connections to fight against me! I'll be waiting.”

Levi then took his leave straightaway, disregarding the mockeries of the crowd.

“Stop right there, you *! Did I tell you to leave?”

Ben, Levi's adoptive father, wanted to stop him.

“Ben, let him go!” Joseph said. “It's a big day today. I don't want to see bloodshed!”

He was afraid about the impact that would bring about if the big shot saw this.

“Yeah! There are so much more opportunities to take care of him!”

“He's in luck that the big shot is on his way!”

With that, Levi left the place under the watchful eyes of hundreds of people.

After Levi had left, Joseph asked anxiously, “Jaycob, where's the big shot? Isn't he here yet?”

Jaycob looked dazed. “According to the time, he should have arrived long ago. Let me ask...”

After making a phone call, Jaycob blanched. “Dad, the big shot was here, but he left already.”

“What? The big shot was here?”

“The big shot said that the Garrison family are a bunch of unworthy stupid pigs!”

“I get it. He must have left in a fit of rage after witnessing the ruckus that brat had created!”

“He must have thought that the Garrison family disrespected him!”

Joseph trembled with rage. “That brat will pay for this!”

The multitude reacted accordingly.

Levi has ruined the Garrison family's glorious event!

He just pissed off the big shot!

That's equivalent to cutting off the Garrison family's chance to reach the sky!

Levi Garrison is indeed the sinner of the Garrison family!

At that moment, the Garrison family wished to skin Levi alive.

His adoptive parents, brother, and sister-in-law especially hated him to the bone. “Just you wait, Levi!”

After leaving Crystal Palace Hotel, the next person that Levi was going to look for was his wife, Zoey Lopez.

In this life, he owed no debt to the Garrison family, nor his friends and classmates, but Zoey.

He had been imprisoned on the second day after the wedding, making Zoey lose her reputation. That even put her through six years of widowhood.

This woman has carried too much on her shoulders for six years.

But now that I'm back, I'll hold your hand, and we'll conquer the world together!

After hesitating for a long time, Levi pressed the doorbell.

Thud!

The young woman dropped her mobile phone to the ground as the door opened.

Upon taking a closer look at Levi's face, Zoey broke down in tears.

“Zoey, quick, just get the parcel and come in. It's almost time for the family banquet! Your grandfather is going to settle your marriage at the family banquet tonight. You can't get away from this!”

“Yeah! Quickly get dressed! Your grandfather is going to set you up with someone else!”

Zoey's parents' voices sounded from the inside.

“Zoey, I'm back!” Levi said excitedly, wanting to fling his arm around her, but Zoey slapped his hands away.

“Why did you come back? I've already forgotten about you...”

Zoey's voice was choked with sobs.

Very soon after, Zoey's parents, Aaron and Caitlyn, came out, looking horrified.

“How dare you have the nerve to come back? Do you know how much criticism my family has suffered because of you? Especially Zoey. Do you know how much she has suffered for the past six years?” Zoey's father, Aaron, reproached.

Meanwhile, her mother, Caitlyn, pushed and shoved Levi. “You should know that this relationship between you and Zoey is impossible in this life the moment you went to jail! You're a criminal! You're just a street rat in North Hampton! You're only putting Zoey in harm's way by coming to see her!”

Naturally, Levi had known of Zoey's sufferings for the past six years, including her refusal to remarry because of him.

Levi put on a serious face. “This time, I'm back for good. I won't leave Zoey ever again. I will grant her a bright future and let her own the world!”

Levi's declaration had Aaron and Caitlyn hooting with laughter.

“You've spent six years in jail. How are you going to give Zoey a future?” Aaron asked with a sneer.

“Yeah! With your mouth?” Caitlyn chimed in. “There's a limit to talking big!”

Nonetheless, Levi smiled. “Don't worry. I'll reclaim what I lost in those years! I'll destroy the Garrison family in a month!”

“Levi!” This time, even Zoey couldn't bear to listen to his nonsense any longer. “Can we be more realistic? It doesn't matter if you just get out of prison. Can't you just be down to earth and start anew? I believe that you will make a comeback one day, but you can't just indulge in tall talk. Do you know just how powerful the Garrison family is right now? And besides, today's era is a far cry from what it was six years ago!”

“Zoey, trust me,” Levi said earnestly. “I can make the Garrison family bow at my feet with just a word!”

Preposterous!

Levi's bravado nearly drove Zoey and her parents round the bend.

Having been caged up for six years, did he finally lose his mind?

“Fine. If you say so,” Zoey said, shoving her mobile phone to Levi directly. “Then prove it! I'd like to see how you make the Garrison family bow their heads with just one word!”

“I...”

Levi was stunned.

It was true that he could exterminate the Garrison family with his words, but he had given them one month; it would be too uneventful to destroy them now.

“See, you can't do it, can't you? Then don't you ever talk big if you can't!”

Zoey smashed the phone to the ground, marking her wrath.

Following that, her parents pushed Levi away. “Go now. You're not welcome here. We've got a family banquet to attend!”

“No. Mom, Dad, let him in!”

“What do you mean, Zoey?”

“I won't remarry. My husband is back.”

...

Aaron and Caitlyn couldn't talk her round, so they could only let him in.

After that, Zoey took Levi to her bedroom.

“Since you're back, you're still my husband. I don't care about the gossips. Besides, I believe you're innocent, and anyone with discerning eyes can see that it was the Garrison family who'd framed you!”

Levi could feel the warmth in his heart.

She trusted him, and that was more than enough for him.

“But you must promise me to start from zero and be down to earth. I believe you will achieve something great with your ability! I'll give you five years!”

“That's unnecessary,” Levi said. “Just give me one month. In a month, I'll de—”

“Shut up! I don't want to listen to your nonsensical and unrealistic talks! Why can't we just be realistic?” Zoey shouted.

“Even if you have nothing now, as long as you take one step at a time, I believe you'll get back on your feet!”

Levi shut up obediently.

“I bought you these six years ago.” Zoey took out a suit from the cupboard. “Change into it at once and follow me to the family banquet!”

“Zoey, what is up with you?”

Seeing Levi all dressed up, Aaron and Caitlyn were naturally dissatisfied.

Zoey clung onto Levi's arm. “Mom, Dad, Levi is my husband now! I will make myself clear to Grandpa tonight!”

Aaron and Caitlyn looked daggers at Levi, sighing helplessly, “For Heaven's sake!”

The Lopez family banquet was held at Golden Port Restaurant, where they contracted the entire restaurant.

Naturally, the Lopez family was not as powerful as the Garrison family, but they were considered above average in North Hampton.

When Zoey and her family arrived at the main hall, they were greeted with strange and jesting gazes.

In the past, when Zoey and Levi had gotten married, Aaron's family status was the highest in the Lopez family.

But after Levi's downfall, Aaron's family had experienced a seismic shift in life, and their status in the Lopez family took a nosedive as they became the subject of ridicule, especially during family events.

“Look! Is that Levi beside Zoey?”

“Yeah! It's really him! He's released from prison already?”

All eyes fell on Levi at once.

Harry, the head of the Lopez family, snorted and turned a blind eye to the four of them.

The old man's favorite now was Fabian, his eldest son, and his family.

Mainly because Fabian's son-in-law, Samuel Robertson, was of mixed ethnicity who was born rich and had lived overseas.

This time, Harry was going to set up Zoey with Samuel's younger brother, Chris, who had been casting covetous eyes on Zoey for some time now.

With no one paying attention to them, Aaron and his family could only find a place to sit first.

As they were about to take their seats, a voice was heard. “No, Aaron. You guys can't sit here.”

It was a reminder from Henry, the second eldest son of the Lopez family.

“What?”

“There are sitting arrangements to the family banquet this time.”

Aaron looked puzzled. “How so?”

“There are four tables for the family banquet! And it's decided according to the family contribution!”

“For example, the first table is given to the family who contributed over five million to the family in a year; a million for the second table, a hundred thousand for the third table, and less than a hundred thousand for the last table, or should I say no contribution at all!”

Henry smiled smugly. “Our family has made good profits this year, and we've contributed just about five million to the family. So excuse me, but this table here is ours.”

“Of course, you can also sit at the first table without contributing. That is if your family has tens of millions of assets.”

“Unfortunately, we couldn't be any clearer about your family's situation,” sneered Maddison, Henry's wife. “Now that there's an ex-convict in your family, I'm sorry that you guys can only sit at the last table!”

“Mom, Dad, as far as I know, Uncle Aaron and his family didn't contribute much to the family last year,” said Shaun, Henry's son, walking over with a glass in his hand. “Their company went bankrupt, and they even borrowed over two million from Grandpa. Clearly, it's a negative contribution. It's unfair to the relatives sitting at the fourth table! I say we add a fifth table for negative contributors!”

“Yeah, I agree!”

The rest of the Lopez family concurred.

“Okay, we'll do as Shaun says! This shall motivate you people!”

Harry gave his consent.

“Hurry up and sit down. Don't just stand there and make a fool out of yourselves.” Harry glared at Aaron.

With that, Aaron and his family walked over to the fifth table quietly.

“Which table should a ten billion contributor sit at?” asked Levi suddenly, pulling Zoey's arm.

Levi was the one and only five-star God of War, and wealth to him was just a number.

In fact, he didn't know exactly how much he had, but he could still fork out ten billion casually for the family contribution on behalf of Aaron's family.

As soon as Levi said that, everyone was stunned at his query.

After a few moments of silence, the crowd blossomed into an enormous belly laugh.

“Ten billion? You must be kidding me! Even the aristocratic Garrison family may not have that much money!”

“This kid must have a loose screw in the head to come here and embarrass himself!”

“Hey, Aaron. Did you know you have a son-in-law worth ten billion? Hahaha...”

Sensing the jeering gazes and titter from the people around, Aaron and his family wished the ground could swallow them whole.

This is embarrassing!

Too embarrassing!

Zoey's temper sparked, and her eyes blazed with rage.

“Levi Garrison, is it not enough for you to talk big at home that you have to come here and embarrass me? Do you think you haven't done enough after all these years?”

Zoey trembled as tears silently rolling down her cheeks.

“But I do have ten billion!” Levi said helplessly.

At this time, no one bothered to listen to Levi's sheer bull because the star of the day, Fabian's son-in-law, had arrived.

Everyone, including Harry, went out to the entrance to greet him.

“I'm sorry to keep everyone waiting.” Samuel wore an apologetic expression.

“Your flight was nearly ten hours late. What's up with that?” Harry asked in concern.

Samuel smiled. “Grandpa, don't you know? A big shot has arrived in North Hampton, and North Hampton Airport was sealed off for eight hours.”

What? Is there such a thing?

“Who's this big shot to have the airport sealed off, Samuel?” Harry asked smilingly.

“It's not just that. It's said that a hundred planes escorted the private jet of that big shot, and there were a hundred thousand people guarding at the airport.”

“Damn!”

“What?”

The crowd gasped in shock.

“He's the commander-in-chief of nine military regions, the God of War of Erudia. Haha, you may not believe it if I say this, but I met this great man when I was at a gathering abroad, and we even exchanged numbers. I didn't expect him to take up a post in North Hampton! I'll ask him out sometime in support of the Lopez family. That way, you'll gain a foothold in North Hampton in no time,” Samuel said loftily.

“God! That's incredible! How did you even get to know someone like him?”

“My brother-in-law is so cool!”

“The Lopez family's son-in-law is one of a kind! Yes | 2024-04-07 16:42 | active | 455 | 0 | 437645221987989 | Starting to work with herbs can be a little overwhelming, I get overwhelmed all the time and have to force myself back to the basics.

Starting with a few very nutrient dense herbs is a good way to start! Get to know a few herbs at a time, see how they make you feel, then maybe after a month mix it up and add oat straw or alfalfa.. take it slow.

These are some of the first herbs I started using regularly for infusions and they are safe for most people. I have taken them while pregnant, nursing and I give them to my kids regularly.

Raspberry Leaf and Nettle are high in a lot of different minerals and vitamins like vitamins c, k, e, a, calcium, iron, potassium, magnesium and more. These vitamins and minerals are essential for immune support, bone health, production of red blood cells, proper fluid balance and support the nerve and muscle function. Not to mention they are anti-inflammatory and antioxidants.

Holy Basil is my favorite herb. It is an adaptogen, and also is high in vitamins and minerals like vitamins a, c, k, and minerals like calcium, manganese, magnesium, iron and potassium along with a good amount of protein and fiber. Holy basil acts as a natural protector of organs and tissues. It can help with skin issues and acne, balance stress hormones, help with respiratory disorders, fight infections, relieve headaches and more.

Hibiscus helps flavor and color the infusions but is also a powerhouse with high levels of vitamin c, minerals, soluble fiber and antioxidant flavonoids!

If you don’t have somewhere close to you that sells herbs you can get them on Amazon from @starwestbotanicals or @frontiercoop

I add about 1/4 a cup of each to a 1/2 gallon mason jar. I add warm water and then let it sit in the fridge for at least 4 hours or overnight! Once you strain it, it will last in the fridge for a couple days. Super easy and delicious and perfect for the upcoming warm weather!

#herbs #healthydrink #organic #minerals #vitamins #healthylifestyle | VIEW_INSTAGRAM_PROFILE | http://instagram.com/naturally_jordynn_ | 242107278975930 | Wild Grace Herbs | https://facebook.com/61556199175776 | 51 | 1 | 1,584,703,398,964,633 | 2024-04-07 02:00 | person_profile | eligible | 0 | 0 | NONE | 0 | 0 | 1 | 0 | Visit Instagram profile | 0 | Wild Grace Herbs | 120207733750900235 | instagram.com | NONE | video | http://instagram.com/naturally_jordynn_ | 2024-04-06 19:12 | https://scontent-lax3-2.xx.fbcdn.net/v/t39.35426-6/436935796_772787488163798_9051295292075968864_n.jpg?stp=dst-jpg_s60x60&_nc_cat=103&ccb=1-7&_nc_sid=c53f8f&_nc_ohc=c4JBqwVB_xoAb4crkME&_nc_ht=scontent-lax3-2.xx&oh=00_AfA9fgyA46K7_CPCvCAOU1dvd_2EFvgVfcERxACWjUkjVg&oe=6618E0D1 | person_profile | 0 | Jordynn | Wild Grace Herbs | https://scontent-lax3-1.xx.fbcdn.net/v/t39.35426-6/435924940_934177018175957_8957963360132806527_n.jpg?_nc_cat=109&ccb=1-7&_nc_sid=c53f8f&_nc_ohc=oxyBU8h761AAb6-YJD1&_nc_ht=scontent-lax3-1.xx&oh=00_AfC1oZHwtiQz09uzLO4rE_gDaHCU_9nyJiv21kzgn8Ipcw&oe=6618EFBE | 0 | 3 | Wild Grace Herbs | 0 | 0 | 2024-04-06 02:00 | View Edit Delete | ||||||||||||||||||||||

No | 2024-04-07 16:42 | active | 455 | 0 | 969509990779389 | 🔥🔥 Click to Read 👉🏻👉🏻 | "So this was all just a game to you . . .this whole time, you pretended to like me in order to humiliate me in front of the entire school?" An air of melancholia surrounded me, eyes watery like never before. "Were your feelings for me ever real?"
There wasn't even a trace of an apologetic expression on his features as he tucked his hands in his pockets, before he gave a nonchalant shrug.
The sudden urge for revenge became a prominent priority.
He regarded me passively. "It's not my fault that you fell for me in the first place." he justified as he advanced my way, closing the gap between us.
Unstably, I strode backwards on the concrete.
". . .stay back." I whimpered. "You're nothing but cold hearted."
————————
"It's so good to have you back Emery."
"Yeah, it was about time."
I stare at my two best friends in complete annoyance as they mention both sentences simultaneously. That is probably the thirtieth time they've said those words. Nonetheless, I ignore them and drink my water. We're sat at a table in the cafeteria where for once the table's near an isolated area. If there's one thing I hate about cafeterias; they're extremely noisy.
Aaliyah clasps her hands together. "So Emery, did you check your snapchat today? I sent you like about a thousand snaps."
I throw her a dumbfounded expression. "With Ms. Sanders watching my every move. . . it's impossible to check my phone, not even for a second. She's already given me a two thousand word essay on the nuclear energy for the weekend."
"Oh right, I forgot you had a science class in the third period, my bad. That teacher of yours has a terrible sense of fashion." Aaliyah criticizes before taking a bite of her crispy taco - well, what's left of it.
We both laugh at what she's said. Meet Aaliyah aka the fashion police. She's definitely no stranger to the fashion world with her gorgeous outfits that complement her light brown skin complexion.
Today's one of those days when she's wearing a black jacket and shirt with the word YEEZUS imprinted on it. Her indigo boyfriend jeans contrast well with the black colour of her sportive sneakers and Céline handbag.
With that kind of style, you can definitely say that she has great taste in fashion. Natalie and I normally go for the casual, simple skinny jeans and flats kind of style compared to Aaliyah who occasionally wears brand clothes.
Natalie's currently sitting next to me whereas Aaliyah is opposite the both of us. She's always been the quiet type compared to Aaliyah who always loves to hear herself talk. She's kind of the don't-kill-my-vibe type of girl. Although she usually doesn't say much, she can be pretty funny when she wants to be.
Distancing myself from their new discussion, I spot Anthony sitting at a table with a blonde haired girl a couple of feet away from our table. I scrunch my eyebrows when I instantly realize the girl being none other than - Stacey Hastings.
Sensing my lack of communication, Natalie nudges my arm with her elbow. "Earth to Emery were you even listening to me?"
"Since when did Anthony and Stacey share tables?" I inquire, completely dismissing her question.
"Oh, you didn't know?"
I shoot Aaliyah a confused expression. "Didn't know what?"
"Wow, you really need to catch up fast."
"They've been dating since last summer." Natalie states rather bluntly, I might add.
I spit my water through the atmosphere, forming a mist. Luck seems to be on my side today since no one was quick to capture the moment of what just happened.
"You have got to be kidding me. I was going to eat that apple, thanks a lot Em." Aaliyah glowers at me.
Natalie slightly tosses her tray on the other side of the table. "On second thought I think I've lost my appetite."
"Gee. . .I'm sorry but did it ever occur to you guys of mentioning Anthony's latest fling to me?"
"A lot's changed since you left Em and besides, why do you even care?" Aaliyah inquires.
"It's not that I care, I just can't believe that Anthony's kept this from me."
"You expected Anthony to disclose that he was dating her, right after you've been completely avoiding him for the past two years?"
Aaliyah instantly nods her head. "I totally agree with Natalie!"
"Well he's my best friend!"
Rolling her eyes, Aaliyah lifts her arm up in exasperation. "Girl, be real with yourself! When was the last time you've spoken to Anthony?''
"Today actually, after third period we had a civil conversation." I answer as I inwardly try not to replay the earlier confrontation I had with him.
I may not fully know what he did to you but Emery, I am not the one to blame.
I can still hear his words echoing in my head.
"Judging by your voice tone, I'm guessing your conversation with Anthony didn't end so well." Natalie says, stating the obvious.
Aaliyah raises a quizzical eyebrow. "Yeah, what did you guys talk about?"
Shifting uneasily in my spot, I reveal the entire story. In general, I explain how Anthony knew that I was avoiding him, how he claimed to have no part in Dean's lame scheme two years ago, and how he didn't want to be blamed for Dean's actions.
"Anthony's right, you do need to stop pushing him away. . . I mean come on, he's always been a good friend of yours."
Nodding absentmindedly, I flicker my eyes up to meet Aaliyah's gaze. "You're probably right, I do need to put the past behind me."
"If it's any consolation, Dean's not attending school today." Natalie informs me before the bell rings, alerting students to prepare for the final period.
"Natalie, you've obviously mistaken me for someone who gives a prick." I say dismissively.
"Alright. . .I won't ever mention his name again." Natalie mumbles nervously.
Once our conversation ends, we head towards our respective lockers to collect our calculus textbooks for the last period.
If I were to hear his voice two years ago, I probably would have felt the physical sensation of fireflies erupting in my stomach which lead to an increased heart rate and a common feeling of excitement.
But as I'm standing in the parking lot; clenching my fists with a scowl plastered across my face, I am prepared to face the devil in disguise.
"Do you own this property? That's right I didn't think so." I sneer with venom dripping from my every word after turning around.
When it comes to my encounters with Dean, I always have to be on guard.
"You didn't answer the question." Dean bellows, his eyes narrow as they tighten around the edges. This is exactly how we've been addressing each other two years ago with our exchanged bickering and vulgar insults. I can't even begin to explain how the boy standing right in front of me, has managed to cause me a lot of pain in the past. His reappearance in my life, triggers bad memories I so desperately have tried to push at the back of my head.
Every part of me despises him with a passion.
Was I not informed of his absence for the whole day? I'm not ready to face him just yet. It's all just too much.
My heart is beating so hard against my ribcage that I'm practically sure he can hear it.
"I'm not obliged to answer your irrelevant question." I spit out in disdain.
"No see, what's going to happen is, I'm going to drive you to the airport and you're gonna take a plane to go back to wherever you came from." he snarls, pulling his facial expression into a tight frown.
I throw him a death glare. "Me and you in the same car. . .yeah, I think I'll pass."
For what seems like ages, he doesn't say anything, probably trying to come up with the next insult he's prepared to throw in my way.
Alas.
I immediately beat him up to it. "I'm going to pretend that I never had this conversation with you and ignore you throughout the whole semester. Now Get Lost."
"You've got to be kidding me. . ." he throws me a darkened expression which directly causes my fists to clench harder. "So you're staying here for the whole semester?" he echoes, making a low guttural sound of hostility in his throat.
I glare at him sharply as he approaches me slowly, his 6'2 towering my 5'9 frame. He's so tall that I'm having to lift my head a couple of times just to see his face.
Lividness surges within since all I want to do is punch him in the face for wearing that arrogant expression of his.
He's standing so close to me that I can practically feel his breath fanning my nose. I can't think straight due to the close proximity. I'll do anything to be anywhere else but here.
"Why don't you leave her alone Dean?" I never thought I'd be happy to hear that voice until now. Ladies and gentlemen, Anthony coming to the rescue.
"Dude, this is between me and her." Dean indicates, averting his gaze towards Anthony's direction.
"Come on Dean, she's been through a lot! Just give her some space." Anthony tells him as he throws me a pitiful look.
Throughout the day, I've had many students throw me, their pitiful looks. I'm so sick of people always feeling sorry for me, I can defend and take care of myself. I know Anthony means well, but this is my battle to fight, not his.
"I'm back in town Dean and there's nothing you can do about it. And if you have a problem with that, then write it on a piece of paper and stick it up your hip." I say vehemently.
After studying him, I notice his eyes give away a flicker of anger as he says. "You must be crazy to think that this conversation's close to being over." I watch him take his retreat before he marches towards the football field.
"Emery, are you okay?" Anthony inquires after a few minutes of heavy silence.
"Yes, I'm fine!" I respond hastily, regaining my casual posture.
"Emery, you know I can always tell when you're lying to me." he adds, taking a few steps towards me and closes the gap between us.
I remain still, glancing around uneasily. I guess people forgot to re-evaluate their definition of personal space today. "Seriously I'm fine, now if you'll excuse me I need to go home." I say, taking a few steps backwards but before I can turn my shoulder, his hand immediatly catches my arm with his fingers wrapping around my elbow.
"Wait Emery, I. . ."
"Babe, I've been looking everywhere for you." Not this again, I don't think I can handle anymore of the drama. All I want to do is go home, eat one of my dad's yummy homemade lasagna and go to sleep.
Walking towards our direction, I watch Stacey as she immediately swoons over Anthony, sending me a death glare. I seem to be getting a lot of those lately.
"Is she bothering you?" I look up surprised at what she's just said. The nerve of her. Never before have I met such an ill conceited bad girl. She's talking to him about me as if I don't even exist .
"You know what Stacey? Your mouth looks better when it's closed." I snap bitterly, sending her a death glare. I can't even believe that we used to be best friends.
"What did you just say to me?" she gasps, taking a few steps forward.
"Would you calm down Stacey? I was just talking to her, she wasn't bothering me." Anthony comes between Stacey and I, restricting her movements towards me.
"Why don't you just do everyone a huge favor and go back to Boston. Run like the huge chicken that you've always been."
"Keep talking, one day you'll end up saying something intelligent." I turn around and head straight to my car without bothering to give the couple a second glance. I exhale deeply once I'm inside the vehicle. What was I thinking, convincing myself that coming back here was such a good idea? I should have known better!
The weekend passes by faster than I expected, and as usual, Monday quickly makes it's debut again. I seriously hate waking up very early to go to school everyday, it's so aggravating.
After grabbing my bag from the bed, I check my wristwatch.
I only have twenty minutes left to get to school which means I may not have enough time to eat breakfast. I seriously need to practice getting up very early in the mornings. I stagger my way down two flights of stairs to the kitchen and hurriedly retrieve a snack from the cabinet. Knowing dad's usually sleeping aroud this time in the morning, I don't bother to greet him.
Jamming to the music on my iPod, I walk towards the garage where both my Mercedes-Benz and my dad's black colored Range Rover are stationed. After clicking the unlock button on my car key, I slide into the vehicle before abruptly tossing my bag onto the passenger seat.
The ride from my house to school isn't really long. Sure, it consists of a twenty minutes walk but it's only an eight minutes car drive. The car slows and smoothly comes to halt once I'm in the parking lot. After hearing the school bell ring from inside my vehicle, I frantically unbuckle my seatbelt and prepare to leave the car but I instantly freeze indoors once I realize what I'm seeing from a distance.
In another black vehicle are two teenagers, who are aggressively making out. I pull a disgusting expression at the scene before me.
"They really need to get a room." I say to myself. The brunette girl is straddled on top of the guy who -
Wait a minute.
I know him.
It seems that the mystery guy appears to be none other than Dean Darnell.
My face morphs into pure disgust. Not wanting to see anymore of this very disturbing scene, I open the door to my car and slam it shut with all the strength in me.
You really shouldn't have slammed the door so hard.
That's all I manage to register in my mind because after pulling that stunt, they both apprehend that they have company and rapidly pull away from each other. I gulp and stand statue-still in the parking lot once they've now averted their attention to me. Dean's eyebrows quirk in an angry fashion and his eyes flame in fire once he acknowledge's my presence. I grimace towards his direction as well.
Picking up all the courage that's left in me, I slowly turn around and speedily walk towards the school's building entrance with one thought in mind.
I guess he really hasn't changed a single bit.
The day hasn't turned out to be a nightmare as I thought compared to Friday.
If that were only the case.
Just as I'm heading towards my locker and prepare for the second period, a pair of strong hands enclose my arm and pull me straight into the janitor's closet.
Before I know what's happening, my whole body is pinned against the walls of the room. Expecting it to be a kidnapper, I silently pray to the heavens for them to help me escape this terror.
Today's the day that you're going to get kidnapped.
My expectation's short lived as I witness before me, the face of the creature that I despise the most in this planet.
"We need to talk!"
Dean's face is inches from mine and for the first time I can see just how pissed and angry he is.
"There's absolutely nothing for us to talk about." I reply vehemently as I push myself away from him and detach my arm from his tight grip.
"I think we do," his voice is rough. "You can't tell anyone of what you saw today in the parking lot."
"Of you engaged in some lip-lock with whatever her name may be. . . now why would I even bother?"
His glare is boring holes through my skull. "Just for once, do as you're told and stop pretending like it didn't affect you."
I blink, unable to digest the words that just came out of his mouth.
"What is wrong with you?" I holler as I shove my hands into his chest. "Why would it even affect me? You're such a conceited prick. . .you need a doze of reality."
"This," I gesture at the open space between us. "What we used to have was a big mistake. I don't have any feelings for you anymore and as far as I'm concerned, you're dead to me so there's no reason for me to be jealous."
It's been building to this, all the unresolved tension and frustration has been building to this very moment. I am not prepared for the outcome.
It seems like an hour but a few seconds pass before he speaks. "I can tell you've still not managed to move on from the past." His voice is cold and my heart lodges into my throat.
His words pierce my heart but I manage to look away as I try to regulate my tense breathing.
"You don't know how I'm feeling so I suggest that you stop talking right now." I can feel the tears welling up behind my eyes as I glare at him. He's breaking our silent deal to never mention the unspoken.
I won't cry. . .I won't give him that sort of satisfaction.
"You know I'm right." He moves to block my path when I start for the janitor's room. "Stop pretending like you're over it when we both know that you're not." It's too much, it's all just too much. I tilt my head to face him but I know that it's a very big mistake because as soon as my eyes are locked with his, everything around me fades away. His cold expression shatters me and there's nothing I can do to stop it.
"Look Dean, I could care less if you're out sleeping around with different girls." I declare while taking a few steps backwards.
"This conversation was simply unnecessary and a complete waste of my time. If you thought that I'd actually spend my precious time, spreading the news to everyone that you were caught making out with some random girl because you thought it affected me—" I pause to take a deep breath before finishing my sentence.
"—then you definitely have another thing coming."
I spin on my heels before I rush out of the room, slamming the door shut behind me.
Pressing my back against the door, I take the time to process everything that has just happened. I can feel all the emotions rising up from within and that's when I feel the tears come from out of nowhere.
I had promised myself that I wasn't going to cry, I had promised myself to not get fragile whenever I'd be in his presence. | LEARN_MORE | https://a.shepherdsapp.com/ad/Zmljd29ybGQvMTQzOTI2 | 102673059542883 | Shep002 | https://facebook.com/100093452425291 | 55 | 1 | 1,100,739,551,027,341 | 2024-04-07 02:00 | person_profile | eligible | 0 | 0 | NONE | 0 | 0 | 1 | 0 | Learn more | 0 | Shep002 | 120209792906830659 | a.shepherdsapp.com | NONE | video | https://a.shepherdsapp.com/ad/Zmljd29ybGQvMTQzOTI2LzIwMjQwNDA3MTcwMjAxL3BhZ2U=?adid={{ad.id}} | 2024-04-07 04:09 | https://scontent-atl3-2.xx.fbcdn.net/v/t39.35426-6/435460289_810684274449256_1491583117287316214_n.jpg?stp=dst-jpg_s60x60&_nc_cat=105&ccb=1-7&_nc_sid=c53f8f&_nc_ohc=CWP5Mf6M1FAAb6jXCxB&_nc_ht=scontent-atl3-2.xx&oh=00_AfA08TpuBxC7PmYmtZwAfBB3J6tT3pKl4iqKV-DSRUZZkA&oe=6618F516 | person_profile | 0 | Shep002 | https://scontent-atl3-1.xx.fbcdn.net/v/t39.35426-6/435566556_7936751079673075_4221757571653382314_n.jpg?_nc_cat=103&ccb=1-7&_nc_sid=c53f8f&_nc_ohc=IqHPCJc8TpMAb5kYu8l&_nc_ht=scontent-atl3-1.xx&oh=00_AfD2Aeml3qMFsaHfr9-YAa1P6lgkfrcJlR2AL4yJu_x0sw&oe=6618E183 | 0 | 3 | Shep002 | 0 | 0 | 2024-04-07 02:00 | View Edit Delete | |||||||||||||||||||||

Yes | 2024-04-07 16:42 | active | 455 | 0 | 7393845404024761 | 🔥🔥 Click to Read 👉🏻👉🏻 | After the doctor's office, I stared out the window crying, I am alone, jobless, and pregnant and today I am a newly divorced woman. The words from my ex-husband still lingered in my ears.
"I know you cheated on me, Malia! I saw the pictures!"
I laughed inconsolably. If he loved me truly he would have gone to me for verification instead of bedding himself with 3 sluts.
I was getting scared. This wasn't the husband I knew at all.
————————

It was five in the afternoon I'm just arriving from the ladies banquet. Mason had me attend these silly meetings to give a proper presentation of a powerful man's wife. Since I love him dearly and I love seeing that man happy...i go. At first I thought it would such but turns out it was a great committee with women that were lively and friendly and my friends. I never thought after a three year marriage I would be apart of a prestigious organization of women. Something I am very proud of.
Mason and I met back in college I graduated with a Masters of Arts in fashion and him of course business and politics. I was amazed by the way when we met I the outcast girl with big glasses and loose clothing had grabbed the attention of a god-like looking man... literally.
•Memory•
I was in my final year and working on a project line. My class was preparing for the night to have models walk the catwalk in our designs. I noticed him but he never saw me. the girl with the hair up in a bun, jeans, and a shirt that made me look bigger then what I am but it never bothered me. I was comfortable in my clothing. One of the models happen to be his weekly flame was trying one of my dressed when she fell and twisted her ankle.
"That is why i don't wear 4-inch heels on a daily base." I said as my instructor looked at me "Go on and put the dress on." she said strictly. "NO! she's fat she'll break the dress!" Liv, Mason's "girlfriend," said trying to walk. By the time my instructor could say anything I was already in the back fitting into my own design.
Nervous and shy I slowly stepped out the pearly white dress hugged my curves in the right spots and my small frame fit perfectly. As they were arguing, I could see Mason trying to calm Liv down. When he stopped and looked up he looked in awe like he saw someone more beautiful than me? though I was the only one on the stage. My instructor Ms. Viola turned around and smiled "OH Malia! you look dazzling in your dress!" the dress was a wedding gown. a strapless mermaid dress with transparent white material for the train. Ms. Viola came onto the stage and loosened up my hair letting my chocolate brown hair cascade down. I smiled and giggled and frowned when she took my glasses off. "There's the beauty you hide." she said making blush. She turned to the crowd "Doesn't she look beautiful and she designed the dress! Such Talent!" She said clapping that the elements with the light and fabric material combine well.
I looked down and see Mason still staring at me. Blushing I am escorted out so I can change out of my dress and into my clothes. As I walked off the stage my friend Dalia came took a rubber band and tides my shirt back in a knot. "There much better...dont take it off it's my birthday remember," she said giving me the death glare. smiling i saluted her and went back to finishing preparations.
That night it was a huge success and i received a scholarship for my designs by a local designer. only 3 semesters to go. I am going places already. As the night ended and everyone has gone out to the after-party I drove to a local cafe called "Millie's" and order my favorite soy chai tea latte. As I sat at a booth alone sketching a new design that occurred to me someone joined me. I looked up and there he stood Mason Michealson in the flesh, in my favorite booth as I call it.
"Um hi," I said shyly
"Hello I'm Mason." he said as if I didn't know who he was! The whole campus knows who he is.
"I'm Malia." I replied back.
"I know who you are." that's a miracle. "Your the designer who looked absolutely stunning in her own wedding design...is that your idea for a wedding dress?" he asked me.
I froze "Ummm no my idea is more historically elegant." I responded as I turned the page over and showed him my dream dress. "this is my dress" there was a paused as he..what it looks to be a man appreciating my work of art. "Hopefully one day it will come alive....if i ever get married that is." I said looking down. He looked up at me as I took a sip of my latte. "You would look beautiful in this dress and the man that marries you is going to be lucky," he said. My eyes widen in shock, did he! did he just. Say that! HE DID!
"If I ever find him." I said looking down as I took my drawing back.
"Maybe you just did." my heart stops after those words. I think he's drunk or high on something! He can't ..I...I ...I'm not his type. My nerves are getting to me oh god. I suddenly stood up and grabbed my belongings and dashed out for my life. He's a player he has a history and a reputation with the girls on campus. I could just be his next game. No, No I am not that kind of girl.
I unlocked the car and open the car door. "Malia don't go I didn't mean to scare you." I stopped in place and turned around to face him. " I'm not scared of what you said I'm scared of you. I know of your player history a different girl every week or day I'm not that kind of girl who's going to let myself be swooped away by some guy who's being extra nice to me when I've seen how you behave with others..so rude and cold. I am not a conquest... I want forever and you can't give me forever regardless of your pretty words. I have a brain compare to your "girlfriends" I said as and got into my car and left him.
After that, he was persistent to win me and in the end, he did. We got married a month after graduating both with honors in our field. Three years of heavenly bliss. He was my first real love, first buss, first experience. I thought it was going to be forever.
I walked into our home and headed up the stairs to change for the evening. As I head up the stairs hearing noises that I only hear when Mason and I are doing....things in private. I walk down the hall to see multiple sets of clothes scattered on the floor. My heart stops and I look at the door into my bedroom where the noises is coming from. The moaning and groaning and the sounds of pleasure. A tear race down as suddenly takes the doorknob and open the door. Gasping from both sides his eyes weren't with panic they were calmed like he didn't care. He was in bed with three women all blonde just like the women he uses to go after before we started our relationship.
I couldn't say a word so I left I ran for my life and almost stumbled down the stairs. Screaming as my knees hit the floor. I got up and ran out of the back and towards the lake. Clouds were moving in as it started to rain. I stood my dock letting the rainfall on my hoping that I could just die. When it started to thunder I walked back to the house...his house. He was in the living room worrying yelling out orders. As I walked in I shivered as the cold air introduces me "home" all eyes are on me. His eyes were glaring at me, what's his problem I didn't cheat on him.
"Mrs. Rose bring me a tea please to the guest room and Chester I'm going to change and I'll need boxes up in the bedroom so I can pack my belonging," I said walking past them not saying a word to Mason. As I passed him he grabbed my arm, "Packing! Where are you going to your lover!" he said with pain and anger in his voice "Lover? What are you talking about? No, my parents." I said taking my arm back and I left him standing there.
After my hot shower and I was I warm clothes I stared at the bed of the guest room thinking of what to do next. How could he? "What's his name?" I look behind him looking baffled. "Who?" I simply respond.
"Don't play games with me, Malia! I know you cheated on me! I saw the pictures!" so confused and dizzy I shook my head. "Me cheating are you drunk?" His eyes blazed with anger as he took me by my shoulders and shook me violently. "Don't Lie TO Me!" scared I closed my eyes and cried as I figured it out. He cheated on me because he believes I cheated on him. His hands were going down to my stomach pressing in hard and instinctively I pushed him away and slapped him. "I want the divorce and I never ever want to see you again....as always you assume before asking questions." Just in time, Chester comes in with Mrs. Rose. After an hour in I was gone...he didn't even say goodbye. The worst part I was expecting him to do so. I am so foolish, I shouldn't be hard on myself the signs were there. Sighting, I started thinking about my future and how I was going to survive and obviously not off my soon-to-be-ex-husband no way.
I didn't kill myself studying for nothing. I still have connections and I am amazingly enough a fashion figure. I can do this I will survive...just like the song. Chester dropped me off at my parents who graciously allowed me to stay for a few days.
The next morning a week later I woke up with a text from my still husband to meet at the lawyer's office. Three hours later I was back in my tight jeans and white tank top with a loose dark green cotton sweater and grey high heels. I got used to them .... I'm addicted now hush.
The heels of my shoes clicked against the stone floor as I walked into the lawyer's office. Upon entering I had to witness Mason flirting with the lawyer. Gah! I quietly enter and slammed the door. "Mason stop flirting with every living breathing thing you can start again in momentarily right?" Shocking them both with my entrance. "Op didn't expect me to be so early..... too bad chop-chop assemble the papers I have an appointment after here," I said as I approached the chair and sat down crossing my legs. I just happen to be wearing his favorite shoes. Noticing how he was moving in his chair.
As the lawyer or Ms. Renee explained I will be left with nothing but ten thousand dollars that were already in my bank account. So I had no say what so ever. MEN, Once we signed the papers I looked at him and looked away and walked out of the office. I was halfway down the hall when he came after me.
"Malia." I don't know why I stopped but I did. Turning around to face him "What is it, Mr. Michealson." I said almost formally. "This happened because of you." He had the nerve to do this. I was about to open my mouth when i suddenly became dizzy. "MALIA!" he took hold of me to keep me from falling. "Let me go! I'm fine Mason." I took a deep breath. "Sorry... I...I. I haven't eaten much since I left your house...actually nothing at all amazing that I'm still standing...why am I telling you I am not your business anymore." I laughed inconsolably then stopped and slapped across the face with tears streaming down. "You are a jerk" emphasizing the word oh so humbly. "If you loved me truly you would have gone to me for verification instead of bedding yourself with 3 sluts which I hope you get checked for any STDs, but then again not my problem your not my husband anymore....you Brute!" I said finishing off my rant. I turned on my heels and left the office and left to meet with my mom for the doctor's appointment.
After the doctor's office I stared out the window crying, I am alone, jobless, and pregnant and today I am a newly divorced woman.

"You need to tell him or at least let him know." Livia said as she rubbed my back. I sniffle and dried my tears away nodding. I looked at her and closed my eyes and took a deep breath. "Your right...he has the right to know at least," I told her. "And I am going to do that right now," I said as I stood up and walked over to my closet picking out jeans and a comfortable red plaid blouse along with grey flats. "Why now? Why not later? Livia asked trying to block my way from my dresser. "Because I want to get this over with and I have work remember at the cafe later in the afternoon," I said as I made my way behind her and cleaned up my face and applied the most natural amount of makeup on with a pale pink matte and shine on my lips. "I'll go tell your mom you're going out," she said leaving the bedroom. "Thank you," I said as I grabbed my handbag.
An hour later I arrived at The Michealson Inc. As I walked into the lobby I walked right pass everyone with all eyes on me. I suppose they're wondering what's the ex-wife doing here. I didn't care at all I stepped into the elevator. With a group of executives "Gentlemen and ladies." I said politely as they returned a hello or nod. We were only 20 floors up and left with three executives. "Please make sure Mason remembers he has the private Humanity charity gala and that he is required a date," I said remember the gala we were supposed to go together to...I don't know why I even remember.
Cheese and sprinkles the elevator doors open and that horrible cucumber lotion smell came rushing into my nostrils. That sense! Making me dizzy, I never liked cucumber lotion has a Halloween type smell, nauseous much.
As I walk out I see Maddy polite smiling face turn into a frown to glare. I walked to her desk as everyone stopped and stared at me "Good day Maddy I need to see Mason is he in his office?" I asked kindly. Rudely she replies "Yes but he's with his "client," she said "Why don't you leave and go with your lover." she said all brave and bold. Behind her, I could hear a couple of the other assistants cheer her on. "Excuse me?" I wasn't confused about the accusations of me having a lover but my ex-husband secretary to know this private information. "Your not the bosses wife you can...." The doors open and out came Elizabeth Renee aka the divorce lawyer with a smiling ex-husband of mine. She was blushing and smiling in her black dress addressing her curves to the world. They didn't see me which is weird I'm the human in plaid!
Mason leaned in and busses her. My heart broken into million pieces, but then my mind click he's just using her she will be gone by next week. Clearing my throat his eyes widen when he saw me. Ms. Renee blushed and left instantly. " I need to talk to you privately," I said stepping forward. "Make an appointment then Maddy schedule her in nine or in three years I don't know you decide on some month on the 16 at 10:30 am," he said as Maddy nodded and typed in the information "oh and I took the liberty of calling every fashion-related agencies with the assistance of one of my assistants who volunteered to help to not hire you so I hope you enjoy minimum wage.." He said like my dreams didn't matter to him anymore. That is his revenge..my blood boiled, I worked my hip in college to fulfill my dreams and now that he...he..he.I just want to die! My dreams, my goals, my baby! How am I supposed to raise a child on my own if I have multiple jobs and not the field I love! get a minimum wages job and work my life and miss all the important milestone of my baby. He hit it! Please prepare for an ultimatum.
"Maddison cancels that appointment I won't be able to attend I might be in labor alone in nine months or busy with a small child in three years," I said boldly. My words stopped everyone and everything around me. Mason stopped and looked up and saw the tear streaming down.
"Your lying you can't be! That's not my child. I'm sure it's your lover's child! You bimbo!" he yelled out again he hit the button again.
I walked up to him and in front of all his employees and clients I slapped him across his angelic and God-like face. "NEVER IN YOUR MISERABLE LIFE CALL ME A bimbo AGAIN!" I shouted.
"I only came here to inform you that I am having YOUR child! But please clear this one detail for me....what is the man's name that I supposedly cheated on you on? hmm, cause I have no idea who he is!" I said with all honesty. The people around me, I can hear their whispers, their gossip. Mason just stood there stuck his shocked expression. "Madison I'm sure you know what's the jerk's name? Since you obviously know all the gossip of the office and everything right?" I said giving her my death glare. "Alejandro Posada" she even took the newspaper with the picture and article even. I looked over it and it looks so familiar and then it clicked I remember him, I remember that day. I looked up at Mason and started laughing, "I regret the day I let your playboy hh intiio my heart!" I said I held the paper up and made the announcement, "This is a set up because on that day I was in there with Chief Botiago and Alejandro Posada was trying the women's committee samples for the charity we went too together three months ago and I was designing another "Michealson design" remember his mother's party, Mason? The dress she wore?" I shook my head as people started to realize what I was saying. "Your gullible and insecure hip has been greatly manipulated."
"You destroy our marriage, my trust, and ruin my future!" I walked away with paper in hand and I stop turning around. "Look at me! Look at me real good Mason because this is the last time you will ever see my face and the child I hold here he or she will never know you! And know that it is your fault." I said as I left the lobby and went straight to the elevator. Mason shouted my name and ran towards me. I wanted to turn around and forgive him but the doors open and I stepped in and I was gone. I managed to sneak out of the building without being seen but they saw me they just didn't say anything!
I stopped by a cafe shop and order a fruit platter before heading into my upcoming shift. As I ate I think fate struck me, it was him Alejandro Posada walked through those doors. My teary eyes met with his dark brown eyes. "You" he walked over to me and he looked down at the table seeing the paper.
"I heard about your marriage I am so sorry," he said kindly. Sighting, I wiped my tears away. "It's ok I'll survive just need to find another job and go to the health department..I'm divorced and pregnant," I told him his eyes widen as my tears just rained on.
"You'll find a job you're an extraordinary designer." I smile, "Mason blocked all my ties to the fashion world I called 10 companies and all said, "No we're not hiring" but I can hear their lies." I Wiped more tears away as he looked down. " I just want a new life and to disappear and never be seen again with my baby." And suddenly his head looked up "I have an idea", he leaned into me and whispered, "Marry me?" I blinked several times "what" flabbergasted I cocked my head confused and all. "Just say yes, I can give you my name and help you regain your name in the fashion world anonymously, and your baby will have a family and security," he said it all sounded nice but I don't love him.
"I'm sorry, but no I won't marry you I don't even have feelings for you only as a friend," I said truthfully. Alejandro nodded. "I'm ok with that I'm gay anyway so the feeling is mutual. I'm not opposed to living a lie I've been doing it my whole life thanks to my grandparent's old values," he said clearing it up. It all made sense now literally why he was never seen with women but a few but mostly men.
"What do you say disappear off the planet..which I mean country, raise your baby in a safe environment, make your designer dream come true, make a comeback, and inherit me as your best friend and "husband" hmm" I laughed as another man joined us.
"This is my boyfriend," he said in a whisper "Jonathan, Jonathan this is my "future wife," he said as he gave him a crazy look. " I didn't even give you an answer!" I said quickly. "I'm just assuming you'll say yes so I can finally go to my Abuelita and tell her I getting married so she can stop pairing me up with women and he'll live with us he's my live-in assistant but people are getting suspicious," he said as they both took my hands. I helped him once and now he's returning the favor....big time.
"Ok"
"Really"
"Yes!"
I looked out the window and saw Mason standing there staring at me. I looked away and started asking about investigating who did this to us because it causes more problems on his side than mine. Alejandro looked behind me as he was on the phone talking to a lawyer about the newspaper. In the end, once Alejandro took my hand Mason left like he lost everything.
One day I will confront him and prove to him my innocence not for our love for dignity. | LEARN_MORE | https://a.weloveread.com/ad/bG92ZXJlYWQvMTQzMDU0Lz | 111924688562390 | Lov002 | https://facebook.com/100092720766465 | 47 | 1 | 2,773,052,859,500,009 | 2024-04-07 02:00 | person_profile | eligible | 0 | 0 | NONE | 0 | 0 | 1 | 0 | Learn more | 0 | Lov002 | 120207019349880014 | a.weloveread.com | NONE | video | https://a.weloveread.com/ad/bG92ZXJlYWQvMTQzMDU0LzIwMjQwNDA3MTM0MDAwL3BhZ2U=?adid={{ad.id}} | 2024-04-07 00:42 | https://scontent-ord5-2.xx.fbcdn.net/v/t39.35426-6/435763909_767682455559474_3592770820698968565_n.jpg?stp=dst-jpg_s60x60&_nc_cat=105&ccb=1-7&_nc_sid=c53f8f&_nc_ohc=wGldh1FRc3gAb4Diyhv&_nc_ht=scontent-ord5-2.xx&oh=00_AfBgGb0t6fFZ7wz5CQeGj35ngJS_QV8TuGvrXJWwEtnhXA&oe=6618E2CB | person_profile | 0 | Lov002 | https://scontent-ord5-2.xx.fbcdn.net/v/t39.35426-6/435688013_3698205897085280_303291822250822932_n.jpg?_nc_cat=102&ccb=1-7&_nc_sid=c53f8f&_nc_ohc=FrUFN7x0tmQAb6Hr1FY&_nc_ht=scontent-ord5-2.xx&oh=00_AfAVW4rB-f4jPtTpnPMIJAu7B7zEarHVQXsYbbNPWhSfXw&oe=6618CEEC | 0 | 3 | Lov002 | 0 | 0 | 2024-04-07 02:00 | View Edit Delete | |||||||||||||||||||||
