Kami pun mulai mencari cara utk mendapatkan ANOTHER source of |ncome sehingga kami memiliki back up & pass|ve |nco0me utk masa tua nanti, sehingga kami tetap bisa mand|ri saat anak2 sudah besar. Waktu yg f|eks|bel. System automatis. 📚📚 "Night of Destiny" | A Night of Absurdities

"Anastasia, help!"

The desperate and helpless sound of her best friend's voice was the only thing on Anastasia Tillman's mind as she rushed over to the clubhouse.

Room 808. Anastasia looked up at the number plaque on the door of the private room. It was the same room number that her best friend, Hayley Seymour, had texted her. Without another thought, she barged through the door to save her friend.

When the door swung open under her hand, she was greeted by the darkness within. Suddenly, a strong hand clasped around her wrist and dragged her into the dark room, followed by a loud thud as the door slammed shut.

"Hey—who are you. What do you want?!" Anastasia shrieked, her eyes darting around wildly as she tried to make out her surroundings.

"Settle down, and I'll treat you well." A man's deep and husky voice was getting close to her ear.

An hour later, Anastasia staggered out of the room, looking disheveled. She had only just been through a nightmare, but that didn't distract her from worrying about her best friend's safety.

She was just about to call Hayley's number when she saw a group of men and women walking out the side door. Under the lights, she instantly recognized two of the women in the group.

One happened to be Hayley, her best friend who had cried for help on the phone earlier, and the other was Anastasia's stepsister, Erica Tillman. The two girls walked side by side with their arms linked, as if they were the closest of friends.

Shock and rage colored Anastasia's features when she saw them. "Stop right there, Hayley!" she called out loudly over the distance as her fists clenched tightly at her sides.

Upon hearing this, Hayley and Erica swiveled around to face her. Anastasia glowered at them, ashen-faced as she demanded of Hayley, "Why did you lie to me?!"

Hayley smirked. "It's not my fault that you're always so gullible, Anastasia."

"Did you have a good time back there?" Erica asked in a sing-song voice, smiling wickedly.

👉To continue reading the story for free, download the app and search📚"Night of Destiny". Absolutely Free Reading:🔥The Trap of The CEO's Ex-Wife🔥👉🏻 | 🔥"Congratulations, Mrs. Langley. You're pregnant, four weeks along, and the baby's indicators are all normal!"

Excitedly, Patricia went home, with the pregnancy test report, wanting to share the good news with her husband Martin right away.

"Martin, I..."

"Patricia, let's get a divorce!"

They both spoke at the same time. It was as if a bucket of cold water, had been poured over her head, Patricia went icy cold all over, swallowing the words 'I'm pregnant' back down.

"Why?" Patricia's voice trembled as she fought to hide the heart-wrenching pain. She felt like the pain would kill her, and she wanted clarification for Martin’s reason for divorce.

Martin tightly pursed his thin lips, his eyes as cold as the sea, devoid of any warmth, with a few words the reason became, painfully clear.

"Debbie is back."

At the mention of Debbie, Patricia's face turned pale, as translucent as glass. The woman who had disappeared for two years, the woman Martin had loved so deeply, had returned. Martin took out a check and placed it on the desk.

"Here, one billion dollars; part of it is for your divorce settlement, and the other part is to buy your bone marrow."

Patricia asked cautiously, "What do you mean?"

"Debbie has been diagnosed with aplastic anemia and is in urgent need of a bone marrow transplant. You have a matching rate of ninety percent with her. You are her sister, and have an obligation, to save her."

This was not a proposal; it was a direct order. At this Patricia's heart sank to the bottom of her stomach.

"What if I refuse to donate? Would you force me onto the operating table?"

A chill flashed through Martin's eyes, and he silently watched her, without uttering a word.
His silence giving Patricia her answer. Her blood felt like it had frozen in her veins, Like her heart had been ripped out, the pain was so intense.

Their two years of marriage could not compare to the woman who had once abandoned him.
Her heart became numb and lifeless in her chest.

"I will absolutely not donate bone marrow to Debbie. She ruined my mother's life and drove her to commit suicide when her mother's mistress intervened. Now that she has a blood disorder, it's the retribution they both deserve.”

“It's impossible for me to save her. If you still cherish the love we've shared for the past two years, don't force me. If you make me do this, I will hate you forever."

Her harsh words made Martin's heart tighten suddenly, It was hard to describe the feeling. Perhaps a bit uncomfortable?

Patricia didn't notice his reaction. She picked up the pen from the desk, swiftly signed her name on the divorce agreement.

"I will move out from here immediately. From now on, we don't have to see each other again."

After speaking, she put down the pen and prepared to leave. Just as she turned around, she collided with Debbie, who was pushing the door open.

Debbie Brown was wearing a white dress, her long hair cascading over her shoulders. Her face was pale, and her watery eyes glistened like a pristine white rose.

"Patricia, I know you hate my mother, but you don't know the truth of the matter, back then, my dad and mom knew each other first. It was my grandfather who didn't agree and forced my dad to marry your mom. They..."

Before the words were finished, Patricia interrupted.

"Enough, you don't need to say anymore. If Dad really loved your mom, he shouldn't have compromised and married my mom in the first place. And since they were married, your mom shouldn't have interfered with their marriage."

She observed the situation and, couldn’t help but, mock herself. She gave Martin a cold and withering look, as she spoke to Debbie.

"It's funny, your mom snatched my mom's man back then, and now you've snatched mine. Did my mom and I do something to harm your whole family in our past lives? Or maybe all men in the world have died out, and you insist on competing with us for a man."

Upon hearing this, Martin's pupils tightened, and his narrow eyes showed a chilling aura.

"Patricia, that's enough, stop it," he said.

Patricia sneered, "What? Are you feeling sorry for yourself after just two sentences?"

Layers of haze emerged in Martin's eyes, signifying his patience had run out. Debbie secretly glanced at Martin, tears welling up in her crystal-clear eyes.

"Patricia, how could you say something like that? Martin was originally my fiancé, and you snatched him away. How can you play the victim here."

Patricia retorted, unwilling to back down, "If he was your fiancé, then why did you suddenly disappear the day before our wedding? Clearly, you despised his disability and were afraid he couldn't perform in bed, so you ran away.”

“I stepped in to clean up the mess for you and married him. And now that his legs are healed, you shamelessly come back. Debbie, how shameless can you be?"

A flash of surprise crossed Martin's icy eyes. Having always seen her gentle and obedient side, suddenly witnessing her other side made him angry, yet also curious.

"Patricia, how could you accuse me like this?" Debbie cried, wiping away her tears.

Watching her hypocritical words, Patricia felt disgusted. "Enough, I'm not Martin, your tears mean nothing to me! Since you want him, I'll give him to you. But there's no way you can have my bone marrow!"

With that, she pushed past her and left the study without looking back. As Martin watched her departing figure, his heart inexplicably ached.

Then, he laughed at himself. How could he be pained by such a vain and selfish woman, who didn't lift a finger to save her own sister? His strange feelings must be an illusion brought about by being together for too long.

Under Patricia's repeated humiliations, Debbie could barely hold back her emotions. She looked at Martin with a pleading expression. "Martin, if Patricia doesn't agree, what should I do?"

Martin calmly said, "I will make sure Alan continues to find a suitable bone marrow for you."

His words making it very clear, the matter ends here.

"But..." Debbie was unwilling to let it go. She had finally found a someone whose bone marrow matching rate was ninety percent. She couldn't bear to give up just like that.

Martin glanced at her and said softly, "Debbie, let it go."

A hint of frustration flashed across his eyes, and his handsome face was shrouded in coldness, "I don't like forcing others."

Seeing his firm attitude, Debbie dared not continue speaking. She lowered her head, and where he couldn't see, the expression on her face gradually twisted and grimaced. How could he try to make her give up?

That was completely impossible. She didn’t care what it took, she must obtain Patricia's bone marrow.

...

With her suitcase in hand, Patricia walked out of the bedroom she shared with Martin, looked at the closed study door, and felt a sourness in her stomach. Unconsciously, her hand touched her flat abdomen.

She silently said goodbye, to the man she had loved for ten years. From now on, it would only be her and the baby depending on each other.

Patricia took a deep breath, forced back her tears, and carried her suitcase away from the place she had lived for two years. She drove to the small apartment her mother left before she passed away.

As she took her luggage from the trunk. Someone suddenly covered her mouth and nose from behind, with a cloth soaked in chloroform, the sweet fragrance filling her nostrils.

She wanted to struggle but found herself powerless. She couldn't resist the invasion of darkness. Her body went weak, sinking into an endless abyss of darkness. She didn't know how long had passed.

In intense pain, Patricia groaned in agony while unconscious. She tried hard to open her eyes, but her eyelids felt as heavy as lead. She could only smell the strong scent of disinfectant and faint murmurs.

"Sir, the lady is pregnant. If we forcibly perform the bone marrow transplant, the baby in her belly might not survive. Are you sure you want to continue?"

"She's pregnant?" It was Martin's astonished voice.

As if grasping a lifeline, Patricia desperately tried to tell Martin that she was pregnant, carrying his child, and he couldn't disregard the safety of the child to save Debbie. But no matter how hard she tried; she couldn't make a sound.

"Yes, she should be about a month pregnant."

Patricia thought that no matter how cold or detestable Martin was, he would spare her for the sake of the child. She believed in Martin but unfortunately, she was utterly wrong.

"Debbie's condition can't be delayed any longer. Continue with the surgery, there’s no stopping now."

His words pierced Patricia's heart like a sharp blade, she never expected Martin to be so heartless. For the sake of Debbie, he could disregard his own child's life?

"But what about the child?"

"How can their wretched lives compare to Debbie's? I only want Debbie's well-being."

His ruthless words completely threw Patricia into a pit of darkness. Her heart was filled with intense pain. Scorching tears, ran down her cheeks.

For the first time, she was surrounded by an overwhelming despair. For the first time, she understood what it meant to have a heart as lifeless ashes.

She wanted to escape, to scream for help, but she had no way out. She could only let the cold surgical instrument enter her body.

002
Five years later...

On the top floor of the Langley Group, the whole floor was covered in dark clouds, exuding a sense of low pressure.

Inside the conference room, it was crowded with programmers, each filled with the same heaviness. There was a computer in front of him, and Martin's fingers were flying over the keyboard.

Sitting in the main seat, Martin had deep features, his eyebrows knitted tightly, and his lips pressed together, exuding an aloofness that kept others at a distance.

"Still no trace?" His voice was cold, like a god who held the power of life and death.

Everyone was immediately frightened, sweating profusely. Suddenly, a young man wearing thick glasses exclaimed excitedly, "Mr. Langley, I found it, I found it..."

Martin immediately stood up and walked over to him. Several big words suddenly appeared on the computer screen. There were thick black letters scrolling across the screen.

‘I AM YOUR FATHER! HAHAHA’

An implacable murderous intent instantly appeared on Martin's face. Whoever this person was had such audacity. Not only had they breached their company's impenetrable security wall, leaked their most important internal files, but he also kept playing tricks on him again and again.

And all the programmers in his company couldn't trace his whereabouts. Damn it. Once he captured him, he would strip the man's skin off. Just then, Alan, Martin's assistant, heard a 'beep-beep' sound from his computer.

He stood up excitedly and said, "Sir, we've tracked him down. That person is currently at Ivara City International Airport."

Martin narrowed his dangerous eyes and immediately decided, "Go to the airport right away, closely monitor his movements, and report to me at any time."

Having said that, he drove to the airport with Alan and several bodyguards. Today, he was going to catch him with his own hands.

Meanwhile, in the VIP lounge of Ivara City International Airport. Two beautiful children, like models from a magazine, sat side by side in chairs. They were twins, named Charles and Fannie.

Charles had a small notebook computer on his thigh, a wicked smile on his lips. He lightly pressed the Enter key and sent, yet another, virus to their dear father. Fannie, feeling a little guilty, watched as the virus was sent successfully.

"Charles, do you think it's right, for us to invade our dad's company, just to make money?"

Charles scrunched up his pretty little face. "He's not our dad, He's a villain who has abandoned his children and wife"

"But..." Fannie still had some concerns. She had heard that their dad was very powerful, and she was afraid of being caught by him.

Charles angrily said, "But what? All his money is going to his mistress's child, it has nothing to do with us. I won't feel sorry for him. Don't you forget how he treated mommy? I'm just getting back what she deserves!"

After hearing his words, all of Fannie's concerns disappeared in an instant. "You're right, this is the punishment he deserves!"

After successfully sending the virus, Charles packed up his computer and put it in his backpack.

Their mommy, Patricia, came out of the restroom, saying, "Jade has arrived, let's go quickly!"

"Got it!"

"Okay!"

The two little ones spoke in unison and quickly jumped off the chairs. Patricia reached down, picking up Fannie, and placed her on top of the luggage trolley. With her left hand pushing the trolley, and her right hand holding onto Charles, they walked out of the lounge.

Just as they reached the door, there was a commotion just outside. It was Martin, who happened to be surrounded by a group of admirers. His good looks, and his attire of a formal black suit gave off the air of mystery, drawing everyone’s attention and admiration.

Patricia hadn’t expected to encounter Martin, so soon, right after getting off the plane. Her breath caught in her chest causing her to momentarily pause. As she stood there all the past grievances, flashed through her mind like movie scenes.

Even though it had been five years, whenever she thought of his cruelty and heartlessness, she gritted her teeth as the feelings of hatred towards him surfaced.

Fannie saw Martin and nervously covered her mouth. "Charles, uh-oh, the jerk found us. Have we been exposed?"

Charles smirked. "No wonder it's the Langley Group. They have truly gathered the most elite experts. I've only been online for a while, and he managed to track me down."

Fannie's heart thumped with fear. "What should we do? Will we get caught?"

Charles looked up at his mother, who was still fixated on Martin. He calmly took out three baseball caps and scarfs from the suitcase, and gently tugged at Patricia's clothes.

"Mommy, mommy, quickly put on the caps and scarf. Be careful not to be discovered by that jerk."

Patricia suddenly snapped back to reality, At Charles’ words. She quickly took the cap and scarf, from Charles, put them on, lowered her head, and forced herself to stay calm as she walked past Martin.

Just as she passed by, Martin subconsciously looked at her. When he saw the familiar figure, his throat tightened, making him want to chase after her immediately. He was stopped by Alan.

"Boss, the signal disappeared."

He abruptly came to a halt. Dangerously narrowing his eyes.

"The signal disappeared again?"

Alan's face turned red, and he shamefully looked down. "Just two minutes ago, we were able to track his whereabouts, but now we can't find him."

A cold air surrounded Martin's handsome face. "Are you able to find out where he was last seen?"

Alan kept his head even lower. "The person is very cautious, so we can't find out for now."

A fiery flame burned in Martin's eyes, like an enraged lion. He scanned the surroundings with his sharp gaze and noticed almost everyone had a cellphone and a laptop. Knowing, the surveillance wouldn't yield any results.

Feeling the anger from his boss, Alan wished he could disappear on the spot, but he had no choice, as he continued reporting with a stiff face.

"Just twenty minutes ago, our company's system was hacked again, causing us a loss of nearly 200 million dollars."

As soon as the words fell, a deathly silence hung in the air. No one dared to breathe. The sound of a phone ringing broke the silence. It was Alan's phone ring, thinking it was another crisis at the company, he hurriedly answered. But his face immediately turned pale after hearing the content of the call.

"Boss, the nurse just called. They said Randy is missing from the hospital."

Martin swore to himself. If something was to happen to Randy, they're all done for.
A bone-chilling coldness surged from the depths of Martin's eyes.

"A bunch of useless people who can't even watch a child. Send someone to find them."

"Yes Boss!" Alan, received the order, and hurriedly left with the bodyguards.

Before leaving, Martin took a look in the direction Patricia had left, as he stood deep in thought. Why did that figure just now resemble Patricia so much? Could it really be her who has returned?

Ha! There was no way it could be her, she abandoned her critically ill son and disappeared without a trace five years ago, and now she has the audacity to come back?

003
Patricia had been searching for a while when she finally found her best friend Jade in the parking lot.
Jade Williams hugged Patricia with a bounce and a leap, exclaiming, "My Professor Watson, you've finally decided to come back. I've waited a whole year for you; I've missed you to death."
Seeing her old friend, Patricia couldn't help but have tears well up in her eyes.
"I missed you too, so much that it drove me crazy."
If it hadn't been for Jade, she wouldn't have made it to this day.
Five years ago, Martin had tied her to the operating table, unconcerned about her being pregnant.
She had thought she wouldn't be able to save the baby.
Unexpectedly, the child had a strong will to live and miraculously survived.
Later, she had a difficult and premature birth, resulting in triplets.
Two boys who looked alike and one adorable girl.
One of the boys, due to being underdeveloped, suffered from a severe congenital heart disease, which required a substantial amount of medical expenses. At that time, she was penniless and had no choice but to leave the sick boy with Martin.
After that, to prevent her children from Martin and Debbie's harm, she took the other two children and went abroad.
If it hadn't been for Jade's constant support, helping her through the most difficult first three years overseas, she wouldn't have been able to make it.
Jade let go of Patricia, asking with hope, "You're not planning on leaving again, are you?"
Patricia's eyes darted with hesitation. "I'm not sure. I'm back to treat Randy's heart condition. Everything depends on how well he recovers."
Jade, curious, asked, "Does Martin know that the cardiologist he's paying a fortune for is you?"
Remembering Martin, Patricia's face grew colder, with a hint of anticipation. "He doesn't know! But he will find out soon enough."
Jade didn't continue with her questions, instead squatting down to smother Charles and Fannie's cheeks with kisses.
"My little Charles, little Fannie, I've finally got to see you. Did you miss me?"
Fannie, ever sweet, hugged Jade's neck and covered her face with kisses. "Fannie missed godmother so much. You've gotten even prettier since I last saw you."
Jade's vanity was immensely satisfied.
"You little charmer, your words are getting sweeter. Godmother will buy you some candy later."
Fannie beamed, her eyes curving into beautiful crescents. "Thank you, godmother!"
Jade then looked at Charles. "And you?"
Charles smiled sweetly. "Of course, I missed godmother too! You only think about buying candy for my sister, but I want some as well."
Their cuteness melted Jade’s heart, and she couldn't help but pinch his plump cheeks. "Don't worry, you won't be left out."
Fannie, touching her round belly, said pitifully, "Godmother, Fannie is hungry."
Jade took both little ones by the hand. "Let's go, godmother will take you to get something tasty to eat."
After putting the luggage in the car trunk, they drove off.
Following lunch.
Jade drove Patricia and the children to the Riverside Apartments.
Pointing to the immaculate house, Jade boasted with her chin up, "I knew you were coming back, so I had the cleaners give this place a thorough cleaning yesterday. It's exactly as you left it five years ago, not a single sock missing."
Looking at the familiar house and thinking of it as the only thing left by her mother, Patricia's eyes filled with tears, and her resentment towards Martin deepened.
After a brief moment of sorrow, Patricia squatted down, caressed Charles and Fannie's heads, and instructed with concern, "Charles, Fannie, mom has to go to the hospital to check in. Stay at home and don't run around. Godmother will stay with you."
After speaking, she looked at Charles. "Especially you, the naughtiest one! Listen to godmother, understand?"
"Alright, alright, I got it! You better hurry to the hospital. Don't be late on your first day and make a bad impression," Charles said, waving her off like a little adult.
Patricia, caught between laughter and tears, lightly flicked his nose.
"Smart aleck, they've hired me for a hefty sum; I'm not afraid of being late."
Charles pursed his lips, teasing her without mercy. "Mommy, do you know your skin is thicker than a city wall?"
"Cheeky boy, you've got your dad's sharp tongue!" Patricia gave him a playful knock on the head and looked at Jade. "Jade, please take good care of them for me. I'll be back soon."
Jade patted her chest in assurance. "Leave them to me; I'll keep an eye on them."
Only then did Patricia leave with peace of mind.
As soon as she left, Charles and Fannie completely let loose.
Charles craftily rolled his eyes, giving Fannie a knowing look.
Fannie, catching on quickly, returned the glance.
After a silent exchange to confirm their plan, Charles feigned a yawn. "Godmother, I'm so sleepy. I'm going to my room to sleep. You play with my sister."
Jade, unsuspecting, escorted him to his bedroom. After making sure he got into bed, she tiptoed out, closing the door behind her.
Fannie grabbed Jade's hand, her eyes shining bright. "Godmother, let's go to the supermarket to buy some daily necessities. We didn't bring many things back because of all the luggage."
"To the supermarket?"
Jade glanced at the closed bedroom door, feeling uneasy.
Charles had instructed her to keep a close eye on Charles.
What would happen to Charles if they just left?
Reading her concern, Fannie, with her mischievous spirit, said, "Brother always sleeps for a long time. By the time he wakes up, we'll already be back! Don't worry, nothing will happen."
After saying this, fearing Jade wouldn't agree, she began to pout. "Please, godmother, let's go. You just promised to buy me candy."
Unable to withstand her persistent pleading, Jade's heart softened completely, and she immediately nodded in agreement.
Shortly after they left, the tightly closed bedroom door suddenly opened.
Charles peeked out, making sure they were gone before sneaking out on tiptoe. He slung his backpack over his shoulders, donned a cap and a mask, and at the entrance of the complex, hailed a taxi to the lvara Hospital.

004
Ivara Hospital, established by Martin for his son Randy, stood in the heart of Ivara, attracting the nation's most authoritative cardiologists.
During her four years in Country A, Patricia had devoted herself to the study of cardiothoracic surgery, with the hope of one day operating on Randy to give him a normal life.
After years of effort, she had become one of the world's leading heart surgeons and had been invited by Martin a week ago to return home to treat Randy.
The hospital's dean was well aware of Patricia's reputation in the medical field and greeted her warmly, "Hello, Professor Watson. We've been eagerly awaiting your arrival."
Patricia, slightly embarrassed, apologized, "I'm sorry for the delay. I had many responsibilities to hand over at my previous hospital."
The dean quickly reassured her, "No problem at all, I understand! Let me first show you around your workplace and introduce you to your colleagues."
Patricia nodded and followed the dean through the outpatient department, getting an initial impression of the doctors there, before they proceeded to the inpatient ward.
The dean joked, "With Professor Watson's arrival, the average age of our hospital's staff has certainly gone up. Before you, Professor Brown was our youngest professor. I always thought it was quite an achievement for someone her age to hold a position as an associate professor. But you, even younger, have made it to full professor."
"Professor Brown?"
They were just outside the doctors' office when the dean pointed inside, "You'll meet Professor Brown in a moment."
As they entered, the dean introduced Patricia to each staff member. Noticing Professor Brown's absence, he inquired, "Where's Professor Brown?"
A balding doctor pushed up his glasses and replied, "The Langley family's child is missing. Professor Brown and Martin have gone to look for the child."
The Langley family's child?
Was he talking about Randy?
Patricia's heart leaped to her throat.
"The Langley family's child is missing? Where could he have gone? Could something have happened?" The dean's temples throbbed with concern. "You needn't worry. The Langley child is just throwing a tantrum. This happens almost every week. He has nowhere else to go and always ends up sneaking back home."
"Every week?" Patricia's heart twisted in pain, her mind racing with thoughts.
Randy must be unable to bear the torment of his illness, which is why he often runs away.
The thought alone was enough to cause her heartache.
The dean advised Patricia, "This hospital was established by Martin for Randy. Professor Brown is Randy's aunt. Randy can be quite temperamental and difficult to handle. You'll need to be careful around him."
Patricia exclaimed in surprise, "Professor Brown is Debbie?"
The dean nodded, "Yes, Professor Brown's real name is Debbie. She's also well-versed in cardiology, a blend of talent and beauty."
A cold glint passed through Patricia's eyes.
Enemies often cross each other's paths.
She was now Debbie's colleague and even ranked above her.
How interesting.
After acquainting herself with the hospital and setting a start date with the dean, Patricia prepared to head home.
As she reached the parking lot, she spotted a familiar little face sneaking around, peeking here and there.
Patricia marched over, irate, and twisted his ear, "You little rascal, didn't I tell you to stay home and not wander off? Why did you follow me here?"
Randy's neck tilted back from the pain, his handsome little face crumpled in discomfort.
"How dare you twist my ear? Are you tired of living?"
Patricia laughed despite her anger.
"Who gave you the audacity to talk to me like that?"
Randy struggled desperately.
Patricia, not wanting to hurt him, let go, allowing him to break free.
"You..." Randy looked up defiantly, about to burst into anger, but upon seeing Patricia's face, he froze, his eyes flashing through a whirlwind of emotions—from initial rage to surprise, then disbelief, and finally, overwhelming grievance.
"Mommy."
He had rehearsed this foreign word countless times.
Yet, it had never been answered.
Seeing others with their mothers when he had none filled him with envy.
Seeing his pitiful state, Patricia could no longer bring herself to scold him. She bent down, lifted him up, and gently blew on his ear.
"I'm sorry, did mommy hurt you just now? I apologize, don't be mad at mommy."
Though it was their first meeting.
Randy felt her voice was eerily familiar.
As if he had heard it countless times in his dreams.
"Are you really my mommy?"
Patricia, speechless, retorted, "What? Don't you recognize your own mother?"
At her words, the tears Randy had been holding back finally broke free.
He clung to Patricia's neck, repeatedly calling out, "Mommy, mommy, mommy..."
As if he could never say it enough.
As if he wanted to express years of longing in one outpour.
Patricia, moved, stopped being angry and gently patted his back, "Alright, I'm not mad anymore, stop crying now."
After a while, Randy let go of Patricia.
Suddenly, a 'gurgle' sound came from nearby.
Patricia incredulously looked at his little belly, "Are you hungry again?"
Hadn't he just eaten a lot?
Randy's cheeks turned red, and the once irritable little lion became a docile kitten, quietly nestling in Patricia's arms, too embarrassed to speak.
Patricia shook her head helplessly.
"Let's go home, mommy will make you something delicious."
Randy nodded obediently.
Patricia placed him in the passenger seat and settled into the driver's seat.
Randy, unable to believe this was real, fearing it was a dream, pinched his own cheek, wincing at the pain.
"It's not a dream, it's real."
Patricia chuckled helplessly.
"Silly boy, don't do such foolish things in front of others. They will laugh at you."
Randy tilted his head, his gaze never straying from Patricia's face.
Patricia allowed him to look, finding his silly expression endearing.
Elsewhere.
Martin had his people search all the places Randy might have gone to, but they found no trace of him. His handsome face was shrouded in darkness, as if ready to commit murder.
His subordinates were too scared to even breathe.
Debbie approached to console him, "Martin, Randy will be fine. He doesn't have any money; he couldn't have gone far. Look around the hospital again."
Though she said this, in her heart she cursed, hoping Randy would die out there.
That way, once she and Martin were married, their children would be the legitimate heirs.
Just then, Alan rushed in.
"Boss, we've reviewed all the surveillance footage around the hospital and finally found Randy's whereabouts!"
After inserting a USB drive into the computer and opening the video, Martin's distinguished face was enveloped in a cold frost.
It was indeed Patricia.
"Martin, is that Patricia? Has Charles come back? Did she take Randy?" Seeing Patricia, Debbie's eyes nearly popped out of their sockets.
She had never imagined that Patricia, missing for five years, would suddenly return.
Martin's eyes blazed with shock, and he commanded emotionlessly, "Call the police!"
Alan hesitated, "Really call the police?"
Martin raised an eyebrow coldly, "Didn't you hear me? Or should I repeat myself?"
Alan broke out in a cold sweat and dialed the police station.
Watching Martin's stern and angry face, Debbie deliberately stirred the pot, "Martin, why did Charles suddenly come back? She wouldn't be planning to come back and fight for Randy, would she?"
Martin glowered at the computer screen, a low laugh emerging from deep within his throat.
"Fight for Randy? She wishes." With that, he grabbed his car keys and left. Watching Martin leave, Debbie trembled with rage, her hands clenched into fists.
Five years had passed, and Patricia had really returned.

005

Patricia didn't bring Randy home but went to the supermarket first to buy groceries. As she walked out of the store with a bag full of shopping, she was seized by a group of police officers, and the contents of the bag spilled all over the ground.

"Ma'am, you are now implicated in a kidnapping case. Please come with us."

Patricia was dumbfounded. "Whom did I kidnap?"

"The little boy beside you."

Patricia chuckled angrily, "Officer, this is my son. Why would I kidnap my own son?"

The police didn't listen, stubbornly dragging Patricia into the police car.

"Mommy!" Randy wanted to chase after them but was held back by the police.

"Randy, your father will be here soon. Behave and don't make him angry anymore."

Randy stopped struggling. He knew very well that when daddy spoke, no one dared to disobey. If he wanted to save mommy, he had to get daddy's permission. A short while after the police car left, a luxurious Rolls-Royce stopped in front of Randy. It was his father.

Martin got out with a chilling aura. The police immediately handed Randy in their arms back to him.

"Mr. Langley, Randy is safely returned to you! The woman who was the kidnapper has been taken away and will be dealt with according to the law."

Upon hearing the police's words, Randy panicked. "I wanted to go with mommy. Why did you arrest her? Let my mommy go!"

Martin had an immense love for his son, who had a heart condition. He carried Martin into the car, placed him on his lap, and gently rubbed his head with his strong and solid hands.

"That person is not your mommy, your mommy died four years ago."

Randy covered his ears and shook his head desperately, "I don't believe you; you're lying to me! Grandpa showed me a photo of my mommy, and I’m not wrong. That's my mommy. I want to find my mommy! Please take me to find my mommy."

Martin's face darkened, and a hint of hostility emerged between his brows. "People may resemble each other, but that doesn't mean they know each other."

Randy couldn't listen anymore, and tears welled up in his eyes. "Daddy, you're a bad person. You let the police take mommy away. I hate you, and I'll never like you again!"

Martin's brow furrowed deeply. His patience was dwindling, but seeing Randy’s tears, his anger dissipated, leaving only heartache. He embraced Randy and instructed the driver to take them to the hospital.

"If you behave and return to the hospital, I'll let her go."

Upon hearing this, Randy lifted his teary eyes to Martin. "Really?"

Martin wiped the tears off his face with his fingertip. "I won't lie to you."

Finally, Randy broke into a smile through his tears and made a pitiful request. "Can I go see her? Or could you bring her to see me?"

Martin didn't give him a definite answer. "We'll talk about it once we're back at the hospital."

Randy nestled in Martin's embrace, speaking with hopeful anticipation. "Daddy, did Mommy come back just to find me? Does she miss me? Will she never leave me again? Can I see her every day from now on?"

Every sentence revolved around Patricia. Martin was getting annoyed by it; he couldn’t allow this to continue. He needed to stop it promptly.

...

Martin sent Randy back to the hospital, instructing Alan to personally take care of him. Then, he drove to the police station and met the woman, who he had despised for five years, at the detention center.

Patricia wore a white turtleneck sweater, with a beige wool coat draped over it. The glamorous lights cast a halo on her, highlighting her beautiful features, making them even more refined and enchanting.

The girl, with baby fat, had shed her youthfulness and transformed into a sexy and alluring mature woman, as beautiful as a fairy. Martin never knew that she could be this beautiful.

Seeing him staring at her without saying a word, Patricia furrowed her brows and asked displeased, "Mr. Langley, what do you mean by this? Why imprison me?"

Martin stared at her delicate face and warned, word by word, "You abandoned Randy because of his heart disease and turned your back on him! In the past five years, you haven't been by his side. I hope you won't disturb his life in the future."

With teary eyes, Patricia explained, "I had no other choice back then! Randy's heart disease required a large amount of medical expenses, and I had no money. I had to send him to you."

Moreover, she had two other children to support. She simply couldn't afford Randy's medical expenses.

"Hmph..." A trace of mocking appeared in Martin's icy gaze. "Don't try to excuse your irresponsibility."

No money, did that mean she couldn’t keep Randy? Patricia knew she was wrong, and no matter how much she said, she couldn't change the fact that she abandoned Randy. Seeing her silent, Martin interpreted it as her acceptance, his handsome face overshadowed by anger.

"If you don't want Randy to suffer because of you anymore, then don't acknowledge him as your son." Patricia never once considered acknowledging Randy. As long as she could see him every day and accompany him, she was satisfied.

"I won't acknowledge him."

Martin hadn’t expected her to agree so readily, and a trace of surprise flashed in Martin's eyes.
Taking a step back, Patricia laughed at his confidence.

"Mr. Langley, don't think everyone is as shameless as you. I'm doing this, not for you, but for Randy."

Martin instantly became furious, "Don't appear in front of my son and me again."

After saying that, he stood up and walked away without looking back. Patricia wanted to tell him that they would meet again soon. But the words were swallowed back at her lips. She was looking forward to the expression on Martin's face when he found out she was the heart surgeon he had paid a fortune for.

Martin followed through on his words and instructed the police to release Patricia. After coming out, she immediately called Jade, “Jade, did Charles leave?”

"Leave? He has been sleeping at home this whole time...Wait a minute..." Jade paused on the other end of the phone, followed by a scream, "Ah...Where's Charles? Where did he go? He was sleeping when I left!"

Patricia's mouth twitched, knowing that Charles had played a trick on Jade. Just as she was about to say something, she heard Jade continue, "He's back! Charles is back! You scared me. I thought I had lost the child!"

Upon hearing that Charles had safely returned home, Patricia breathed a sigh of relief. After ending the call, she hurried back home to Riverside Apartments. Jade went to make dinner. Fannie finally found an opportunity, her eyes shining with excitement as she asked Charles,

"Charles, did you see Randy? Did you tell him about your sister?"

Charles shook his head in disappointment, "Randy ran away from the hospital. Dad is sending people everywhere to find him."

Fannie anxiously asked, "Did they find him? Is Randy okay?"

Charles replied with disappointment, "They found him! But Dad sent people to watch over him, so I didn't get to see him. I can only wait for another opportunity to come."

Fannie also looked disappointed. However, she wasn't discouraged. They, as siblings, would have another chance to meet. Patricia rushed back home and the first thing she did was check on Charles.

"Were you scared at the entrance of the supermarket just now? You were gone for so long..."

"Mom, what are you talking about?" Charles blinked innocently with his big, harmless eyes, looking at Patricia.

Patricia hesitated for a moment; a bold thought crossed her mind. "You, you didn't go to the hospital to find Mommy just now?"

Charles shook his head, "I did want to go to the hospital to find Mommy, but I couldn't find her."

His answer confirmed Patricia's suspicion. She knew that the child, she was with just now, was Randy, whom she had been thinking about day and night, her body couldn't stop trembling with excitement, sadness, and disappointment.

No wonder Charles had held her and cried, and no wonder Martin didn't ask about Charles. It turns out he wasn't Charles, he was Randy.

Charles and Fannie didn't know what had happened and asked anxiously, "Mom, what's wrong? Did something happen?"

Not wanting to worry them, Patricia sniffed forcefully, held back her tears, and composed herself, "I'm fine, you guys play for a while, I'll go to the kitchen and help Jade."

With that, she got up and walked into the kitchen. Charles and Fannie exchanged a glance, feeling that she was acting strangely, not like what she had said about nothing happening.

They knew their mother had her own secrets, and since she didn't want to say, they wouldn't force her.

006
Patricia woke up early and started making breakfast. Charles and Fannie brushed their teeth, washed their faces, changed their clothes, and went to the bathroom in an orderly manner. After breakfast, Patricia took them to the kindergarten across the street from the community.

Jade had completed the transfer procedures for the two little ones a week ago, so Patricia only needed to drop them off at the entrance of the kindergarten and personally hand them over to the teacher.

Before leaving, Patricia worriedly reminded Charles, "You better behave, don't run around everywhere, take good care of Fannie. If the teacher tells me that you've been bullying classmates or skipping school, I won't be lenient with you."

Charles let out a small sigh. "Why do I still have to go to kindergarten with them? Being with them is an insult to my intelligence."

"Say that again?" Patricia glared at him fiercely, her gaze full of warning.

Charles immediately shut up, smiled sweetly at her. "Dear mother, you can rest assured and go to work. I will behave very well. Be careful."

Patricia couldn't help but laugh at his antics. These two little mischief-makers. No matter how bad her mood was, they always found a way to make her happy and lift her out of the darkness.

"Well, Ok, I’m away!"

"Bye, Mommy."

"Goodbye, Mommy." The two of them waved happily at Patricia.

Patricia drove Jade's car to work at the hospital. Everyone at the hospital knew that a big shot was coming to the cardiology department.

It was the hospital President, who had spent a large sum of money to poach him from the most outstanding cardiac hospital in the world. With both a master's and a Ph.D. degree, he graduated from the country's medical university and gained recognition two years ago for a major heart transplant surgery.

In the following two years, he rose to prominence, gaining worldwide acclaim through numerous successful cardiac surgeries and becoming the youngest professor in the field.

Yesterday, when Patricia arrived to register her arrival, it was in the afternoon, and many doctors were not around, so they didn't get to see her in person. Kowing that they were going to meet the Professor soon, they were really excited.

Debbie glanced at them, feeling jealous, and said, "Don't get your hopes up too high. Many professors are just marketed. You have to see for yourself to know if they're the real deal."

Gladys White, a young intern doctor who followed her, quickly chimed in, "Professor. Brown is right. Among the younger generation, no one can compare to Professor. Brown in terms of ability. I don't think Professor. Watson lives up to the hype."

Debbie felt pleased, with the flattery from Dr. White. Although she looked down on the incoming professor deep down, she didn't show it.

Yesterday afternoon, the male doctor with thinning hair in the office had chuckled, "I don't know if she's skilled, but this Professor. Watson I saw yesterday is a stunning beauty."

Another male doctor teased, "A beauty? How beautiful? Is she more beautiful than Professor. Brown?"

It's worth mentioning that Professor. Brown was known as the hospital's beauty. With both talent and beauty, she was the dream girl of all male doctors. The male doctor with thinning hair glanced at Debbie and smiled without saying a word. His expression undoubtedly gave Debbie the answer.

To receive such high praise from a renowned bookish doctor in their department, it seemed that this new arrival, Professor. Watson, was no ordinary person. Soon, her ominous premonition came true.

Patricia arrived at the office on time. She had applied light makeup, complementing her delicate and beautiful facial features, with her slightly upturned eyes giving her a foxy charm. Even the simple white coat couldn't hide her beauty and allure.

Standing next to Debbie, she completely overwhelmed her in terms of temperament and appearance.

"Patricia?" Debbie couldn't help but exclaim.

Never in her wildest dreams did she expect that the Professor. Watson, they talked about, would actually be Patricia.

A doctor voiced their doubts, "Professor. Brown, do you know each other?"

Patricia and Debbie exchanged a glance, silently concealing their relationship from them.

Debbie smiled awkwardly and replied, "We know each other, but we're not very close."

Faced with the beautiful and capable Patricia, everyone seemed very enthusiastic and approached her to learn from her experiences.

Debbie, who had been highly sought after, was being ignored, her face cold and filled with the desire to tear Patricia apart. After introducing herself to everyone, Patricia went to the ward to find Randy.

She had been hired for one reason and as a result, Randy was her only patient. As Patricia approached the ward's entrance, she could already hear the commotion inside. Randy was smashing things and throwing a tantrum.

"Get out, all of you! My dad is a liar! You promised me, but now you're going back on your word. I hate you; I hate this place! I want to leave; I don't want treatment anymore. Just let me die!" Randy shouted furiously while smashing objects.

Martin couldn't do anything about Randy's behavior and responded, his tone showing how displeased he was. "I've told you before, she's not your mommy. She just looks like your mommy."

Randy refused to listen and continued smashing things, saying, "She is my mommy! She's my real mommy! I know she is! If you don't bring her to see me, I won't take my shots, won't take my medicine, won't eat. I'll starve myself to death!"

Martin, enraged but helpless, could only continue to coax him, saying, "Randy, please listen."

"I won't listen! I won't listen! I hate you! I want my mommy..." Randy covered his ears tightly.

His cries were so loud that they echoed throughout the ward. Patricia stood outside the room, tears already wetting her eyes, feeling a suffocating lump in her chest, unable to breathe properly.

Had Randy been in this state all these years? He longed so much for his mother's company, but she was nowhere to be found. Thinking of this, Patricia's heartache intensified.

Just then, Debbie heard the commotion and hurriedly rushed over. Spotting Patricia standing at the door, whether intentionally or unintentionally, she forcefully bumped into her shoulder, giving her a triumphant look, and walked into the ward.

Seeing the mess in the room, a hint of impatience and disdain crossed Debbie's eyes, quickly concealing it. She walked to the bed with affection, wanting to hug Randy.

"Randy, tell Auntie, what happened? Why are you so angry? Auntie will speak up for you."

Randy avoided her touch and ruthlessly said, "You're not my grandpa's daughter, you're not my aunt. Don't touch me, I hate you..."

Debbie's face immediately turned ugly with anger, but she suppressed her fury. After all, he was Martin's beloved, despite his rebellious and aggressive nature. Noone could do anything about him, but Martin showered him with love. For Martin's sake, she had to endure it.

Martin's gaze suddenly turned icy, "Randy, mind your words."

Everyone knew this was a sign of the boss getting angry. However, Randy wasn't afraid at all.

"I hate all of you! Get out, I don't want to see you anymore..." As he spoke, he grabbed the last cup on the table and threw it at them.

Martin was helpless, his handsome eyebrows furrowing tightly. Debbie, full of worry, asked Martin, "Martin, what's wrong with Randy? He used to be relatively calm.”

Turning to Randy she asked, "Why are you so angry today?"

"Just ignore him, it'll be fine after a few days." Martin was frustrated and restless. He would rather have Randy cause a scene than see Patricia again.

Just then, Patricia walked in slowly from the door and smiled gently at Randy, "Randy, what happened? Why did you smash the ward like this?"

Upon seeing her, Martin's handsome face turned frosty immediately. "Why are you here?"
......

🔥Download the app and read the follow-up of the story>>>
🔥Free reading without any hidden fees>>> | INSTALL_MOBILE_APP | http://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.r | 118277934577904 | GoodStory | https://facebook.com/100092274609524 | 642 | 1 | 885,265,153,278,753 | 2024-01-22 02:00 | person_profile | eligible | 0 | 0 | NONE | 0 | 0 | 1 | 1 | Install now | 0 | GoodStory | 120204252364720055 | play.google.com | NONE | image | Enjoy Good web novels reading offline: werewolf, romance, fantasy story and more | http://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.rnovel.android.app | 2024-01-22 01:57 | https://scontent-dfw5-2.xx.fbcdn.net/v/t39.35426-6/421826165_911353327233611_2693509718675384279_n.jpg?stp=dst-jpg_s60x60&_nc_cat=104&ccb=1-7&_nc_sid=c53f8f&_nc_ohc=zf8boz6ktJoAX-WmV5Z&_nc_ht=scontent-dfw5-2.xx&oh=00_AfBnm_wNj9bzQRLsmslFVC4HB5p9hJt4bF1jDw8BBkjnZQ&oe=65B45BE2 | person_profile | 0 | Novelfow | https://scontent-dfw5-1.xx.fbcdn.net/v/t39.35426-6/421752227_1125112588655894_225829371850348934_n.jpg?_nc_cat=105&ccb=1-7&_nc_sid=c53f8f&_nc_ohc=_t0vRJy4wJoAX9wn3kO&_nc_ht=scontent-dfw5-1.xx&oh=00_AfBHxZj8Kj_chn2bX9fLswwoyFXtU1Ck0Bp8ZLR5MY77VA&oe=65B31548 | 0 | 3 | GoodStory | 0 | 0 | 2024-01-22 02:00 | View Edit Delete

🔥Free reading without any hidden fees>>> | INSTALL_MOBILE_APP | http://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.r | 118277934577904 | GoodStory | https://facebook.com/100092274609524 | 642 | 0 | 915,532,186,364,628 | 2024-01-22 02:00 | person_profile | eligible | 0 | 0 | NONE | 0 | 0 | 1 | 1 | Install now | 0 | GoodStory | 120204252363080055 | play.google.com | NONE | image | Enjoy Good web novels reading offline: werewolf, romance, fantasy story and more | http://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.rnovel.android.app | 2024-01-22 01:57 | https://scontent-dfw5-2.xx.fbcdn.net/v/t39.35426-6/421648937_900524184912584_2223815100266541472_n.jpg?stp=dst-jpg_s60x60&_nc_cat=100&ccb=1-7&_nc_sid=c53f8f&_nc_ohc=14j58_YM8DYAX-bDIWD&_nc_ht=scontent-dfw5-2.xx&oh=00_AfDmvCgE123GUo7-Wt2ylemAlv2OPMEhFkgplwR3Jtyivw&oe=65B2D13A | person_profile | 0 | Novelfow | https://scontent-dfw5-2.xx.fbcdn.net/v/t39.35426-6/421266277_1130654618099801_6883710878726163704_n.jpg?_nc_cat=107&ccb=1-7&_nc_sid=c53f8f&_nc_ohc=tmuog05zLKsAX-aX-7I&_nc_ht=scontent-dfw5-2.xx&oh=00_AfDJ3Wvectv8En5eQ_Cup1BplfVCewI-hUadb7DURZ4ZbQ&oe=65B31C1A | 0 | 3 | GoodStory | 0 | 0 | 2024-01-22 02:00 | View Edit Delete
