I’m finally pain-free, thanks to ArcticBlast™ 👉 | 𝐑𝐞𝐜𝐥𝐚𝐢𝐦 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐫𝐠𝐲 𝐨𝐟 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐭𝐡, 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡𝐨𝐮𝐭 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐚𝐜𝐡𝐞𝐬 𝐨𝐟 𝐚𝐠𝐞.

𝐌𝐢𝐬𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐫𝐠𝐲 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐡𝐚𝐝 𝐝𝐮𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐠𝐞𝐫 𝐝𝐚𝐲𝐬?

𝐑𝐞𝐢𝐠𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐭𝐡𝐟𝐮𝐥 𝐯𝐢𝐠𝐨𝐫, 𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐮𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐣𝐨𝐢𝐧𝐭 𝐩𝐚𝐢𝐧 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐚𝐜𝐡𝐞𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐧𝐨𝐰 𝐭𝐚𝐠 𝐚𝐥𝐨𝐧𝐠.

𝐇𝐞𝐫𝐞’𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐬𝐞𝐜𝐫𝐞𝐭 🤫 𝐏𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐑𝐞𝐦𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐫 𝐬𝐞𝐜𝐫𝐞𝐭 𝐦𝐨𝐬𝐭 𝐩𝐞𝐨𝐩𝐥𝐞 𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐦𝐢𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐨𝐮𝐭 𝐢𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐢𝐫 𝐥𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐬 😯

** 𝐓𝐡𝐢𝐬 𝐰𝐢𝐥𝐥 𝐦𝐚𝐤𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐝 “𝐩𝐚𝐢𝐧” 𝐛𝐞𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐞 𝐚 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐩𝐚𝐬𝐭 💨 💨

It wasn’t too long ago where…

It hurt as soon I tried to get out of bed in the morning or get up from the couch.

It hurt whenever I tried to open a jar or lift heavy things like groceries. I can't even do my favorite thing, cooking for my family, without swimming through a sea of pain.

It hurts at night when I'm in bed, making it hard to have a good night's sleep.

My husband often joked that I was a weather forecaster. Because my joints start to ache when it starts to get cold 😑

Whenever I went to see the doctors, they would offer a sympathetic response and then write me a prescription for for a pain pill or tell me to take oral pain-killers like Tylenol.

They said pain is part of aging, and I just got to "learn" to live with it.

Chiropractic… acupuncture… massaging with essential oils… turmeric… fish oil… different kinds of topical pain-relieving creams… I've tried them all.

But nothing works. The pain kept coming back with no end in sight.

I thought I'd have to live with the pain forever…

That is, until I tried ArcticBlast™.

And in less than a minute of using it, the pain was fully gone. As though I didn't have it in the first place. As though I'm in my twenties again.

Since then, I've been able to:
- Sleep better at night
- Improve my mobility and exercise
- Cook for my family again pain-free

My family often couldn't fully understand how much the pain had affected my life. My mental and emotional health went downhill. But I can't blame them. Now that the pain is gone, it's hard to imagine how anyone can go through life with so much pain.

---

But even though I can now live my life pain-free with no side effects…

I was cautious.

Sometimes when it sounds too good to be true, I get skeptical. Who wouldn't? So I decided to do comprehensive research to find out why ArcticBlast™ is so effective at relieving all my pain areas.

Here's what I found:

What makes ArcticBlast™ effective at relieving pain is its unique ingredients.

In fact, deep research into one of the ingredients tells me that doctors, sports athletes, celebrities, and even career musicians have been using these for decades to relieve all sorts of pain.

These people even went on the record to share how effective it is:

- American Journalist and T.V. Personality Mike Wallace on 60 Minutes interviewed Dr. Stanley Jacob, M.D., and called it "the closest thing to a pain-relieving miracle."

- World-Renowned Pain Specialist Dr. Stanley Jacob said: "If we have patients with sprained ankles, the application is followed by a reduction in swelling within minutes. No other therapeutic medicine will do this."

- At the Cleveland Clinic Foundation, researchers in a clinical study concluded that it brought significant relief to the majority of patients.

- Stephen Edelson, M.D., said, "We use it for all sorts of inflammatory conditions, from people with rheumatoid arthritis to people with chronic low back inflammatory–type symptoms… and it is amazing how free they get. It really is a dramatic treatment."

- Dr. Julian Whitaker, M.D., said, "If joint and/or muscle pain is interfering with your quality of life, I suggest giving it a try. It is remarkably safe and amazing."

- Graham Reedy, M.D., former NFL team physician for the Oakland Raiders, said his players benefited greatly from the regular use of it for pain relief.

- Daryl Lamonica, former NFL quarterback for the Oakland Raiders, wrote to the Commission on Aging at the U.S. House Of Representatives recommending the NFL approve it for pain relief use.

- Dr. Frank Jobe, M.D., orthopedist for the Los Angeles Dodgers, said, "It's quite spectacular on injuries like sprains, contusions, bursitis, and tendinitis. It could revolutionize pain medicine."

- Oscar-Winning Actor James Coburn said, "There was so much pain that… every time I stood up, I would break into a sweat… I started to turn to stone…." But 30 seconds after using it, he was pain–free with no side effects or long–term risks.

- Robert Culp, TV Star from I Spy and movies, used it to finally get arthritis relief. "I couldn't run, and then it got to the point where I couldn't even walk across the street. At that point, I was ready to try anything that would let me move and work again." After using this natural pain-relief, he said, "For the first time in seven or eight years, I am truly pain–free and mobile… I'm happy to be able to walk across a stage again — and to the supermarket."

All these reviews seemed untrue, but I know it works because I've experienced it myself.

What is it about ArcticBlast™ that makes it so effective?

---

First, let me tell you what ArcticBlast™ is NOT.

❌ It's not a common OTC NSAID or oral pain-killer. As most of us already know, these things tend to have serious side effects, such as stomach ache, headache, and increased health complications.

Instead…

✅ It's a pain-relief topical application that is non-addictive, non-habit forming, and proven 100% safe with no side effects.

❌ It's not in pills or capsule form, where you have to swallow or wait for it to dissolve into water (so inconvenient).

❌ It's also not a sticky cream, messy salves, or oil gel that leaves us feeling so uncomfortable.

❌ It's also not a patch where it's unsightly and has the hassle of peeling them off and throwing them away (or risk the patch getting stuck onto our clothes).

Instead…

✅ It's a liquid in "dropper" form. Just apply a drop or two directly onto our skin, and the pain subsides in less than a minute. The liquid evaporated without leaving any traces, as though I didn't apply anything. Yet the relief and cooling sensation come immediately, so I know it's working for sure.

✅ I also love that it's small enough to fit into my purse or pocket so that I can carry it wherever I go and use it when I need instant relief.

❌ Instead of spending close to $300 each month on chiropractors, doctors, medications, and other forms of pain treatment but only to get small relief each time…

✅ I now just need ArcticBlast™ and spend just a small fraction of the cost each month.

❌ Unlike most pain-killers found in the supermarket where I have no assurance that it would work for me…

✅ ArcticBlast™ has a 365-Day return policy. I could finish the whole bottle and get my money back if it doesn't work. But I'm happy to say that it works.

And the best part? After applying ArcticBlast™ for a couple of months and living pain-free, my family went on a holiday to Miami for two weeks. I was worried that the pain would come back because I had forgotten to bring ArcticBlast™ with me.

But guess what happened? I had zero pain for two weeks! I could run, jump, and swim at the beach with my children, totally pain-free!

ArcticBlast™ not only stops the pain, it seems to even "heal" those affected areas.

But I'm going to continue using it because it has anti-inflammatory and antioxidant, and properties, which will help to protect against future pain.

- Joan H. 54, mother of two, Journalist

Read more about the science and reviews here → https://n-labs.com/pages/arctic-blast-two-drops-54seconds

---
Four reasons why ArcticBlast™ is much more effective than all other pain treatments:

1️⃣ Provide instant relief by penetrating through skin, tissue, and joints and transporting all its nutrients, vitamins, and pain-relieving ingredients to the affected area.

Within seconds, it signals the body to "switch off" pain and provide cooling relief.

2️⃣ Prevent further damage to the affected area by addressing free radicals, soothing inflammation, and flushing off harmful toxins and substances hindering the healing process.

At the same time, it provides healing benefits to jumpstart healing and recovery.

3️⃣ Promote healing & recovery by soothing inflammation, killing free radicals, promoting blood circulation, increasing oxygen & nutrients delivery, healing cellular, joint & tissue damage, and promoting nerve & tissue regeneration.

Many customers reported that the pain has stopped coming back for good, allowing them to enjoy their lives to the fullest, pain-free.

4️⃣ Protect against future pain. High levels of inflammation, oxidative stress, free radicals, toxins, pathogen, poor blood circulation, and poor immunity may cause the pain to return.

ArcticBlast™ combats these and protects pain-prone areas from future pain.

Many customers have reported that the pain has stopped coming back even after months and years, allowing them to enjoy their lives to the fullest, pain-free.

ArcticBlast™ is ideal for those who want pain relief from:
- Joints
- Muscles
- Nerves
- Headache
- Osteoarthritis
- Rheumatoid Arthritis
- Psoriatic Arthritis
- Carpal Tunnel Syndrome
- Hip Bursitis

🇺🇸 Manufactured In USA
🙂 Non-Sticky, Non-Oily & Non-Messy
👛 Small Enough To Fit In Purse or Pocket
🍀 100% Safe & Effective Ingredients
🚫 Zero Side-Effects & Non-Addictive
⭐ Over 1M+ Customers Worldwide
📝 Backed by Clinical Studies
✈️ Ships Everywhere
✅ Safe For Daily & Long Term Use
💵 365-Day, 100% Money Back Guarantee

Find out more about ArcticBlast™ here → https://n-labs.com/pages/arctic-blast-two-drops-54seconds | LEARN_MORE | https://n-labs.com/pages/arctic-blast-two-drops-54 | 105673685755424 | N-Labs | https://facebook.com/100089135812231 | 190 | 2 | 419,094,077,717,283 | 2024-04-22 02:00 | person_profile | eligible | 0 | 0 | NONE | 0 | 0 | 1 | 0 | Learn more | 0 | N-Labs | 120208758819780161 | n-labs.com | NONE | image | ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ #1 Pain-Remover Solution That Relieves Pain Within Seconds And Heals Affected Area | https://n-labs.com/pages/arctic-blast-two-drops-54seconds/?trueroas={{ad.id}}&utm_source=FB&utm_medium=CPC&utm_campaign={{campaign.name}}&utm_content={{ad.name}}&utm_term={{adset.name}} | 2024-04-04 02:25 | https://scontent.frkh1-1.fna.fbcdn.net/v/t39.35426-6/435090237_7583100825081654_8790689634129332403_n.jpg?stp=dst-jpg_s60x60&_nc_cat=106&ccb=1-7&_nc_sid=c53f8f&_nc_ohc=ur_4FnINKcsAb4MysHU&_nc_ht=scontent.frkh1-1.fna&oh=00_AfCOG-29fiFjntmyx8MBe2jkF9M2NrwcVL9gKtND2RjtCw&oe=662D0C53 | person_profile | 0 | N-Labs | https://scontent.frkh1-1.fna.fbcdn.net/v/t39.35426-6/434678666_437578381964474_6203622083067768234_n.jpg?_nc_cat=107&ccb=1-7&_nc_sid=c53f8f&_nc_ohc=qojKkWilV_gAb6vNonw&_nc_ht=scontent.frkh1-1.fna&oh=00_AfADEwldhuFob43bKMELon3jBqQd_qAC4YQpGJNBfW6dPw&oe=662CEC5E | 0 | 3 | N-Labs | 0 | 0 | 2024-04-22 02:00 | View Edit Delete | |||||||||||||||||||

I dreaded walking up and down the stairs in my split-level home, knowing that each step would be excruciating.

I also suffered from chronic lower back pain and a damaged right shoulder due to a fall a year ago. After using this natural pain-relief, he said, "For the first time in seven or eight years, I am truly pain–free and mobile… I'm happy to be able to walk across a stage again — and to the supermarket."

But I'm going to continue using it because it has anti-inflammatory and, antioxidant, and anti-bacterial properties, which will help to protect against future pain. It even seems to moisturize my skin.

2️⃣ Prevent further damage to the affected area by addressing free radicals, soothing inflammation, and flushing off harmful toxins, bacteria, and substances hindering the healing process.

- Joints
- Muscles
- Nerves
- Headache

🇺🇸 Manufactured In USA
🙂 Non-Sticky, Non-Oily & Non-Messy
👛 Small Enough To Fit In Purse or Pocket
🍀 100% Safe & Effective & Natural Ingredients
🚫 Zero Side-Effects & Non-Addictive
⭐ Over 1M+ Customers Worldwide
📝 Backed by Clinical Studies
✈️ Ships Everywhere
✅ Safe For Daily & Long Term Use
💵 365-Day, 100% Money Back Guarantee

Find out more about ArcticBlast™ here →
https://n-labs.com/pages/arctic-blast-two-drops-54seconds | LEARN_MORE | https://n-labs.com/pages/arctic-blast-two-drops-54 | 105673685755424 | N-Labs | https://facebook.com/100089135812231 | 190 | 3 | 3,696,471,990,635,726 | 2024-04-22 02:00 | person_profile | eligible | 0 | 0 | NONE | 0 | 0 | 1 | 0 | Learn more | 0 | N-Labs | 120208758132130161 | n-labs.com | NONE | image | ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ #1 Pain-Remover Solution That Relieves Pain Within Seconds And Heals Affected Area | https://n-labs.com/pages/arctic-blast-two-drops-54seconds/?trueroas={{ad.id}}&utm_source=FB&utm_medium=CPC&utm_campaign={{campaign.name}}&utm_content={{ad.name}}&utm_term={{adset.name}} | 2024-04-04 01:59 | https://scontent-dfw5-2.xx.fbcdn.net/v/t39.35426-6/434606603_1209823166654058_5136954589356146163_n.jpg?stp=dst-jpg_s60x60&_nc_cat=106&ccb=1-7&_nc_sid=c53f8f&_nc_ohc=yd1ezvxzfdkAb5KcFyv&_nc_ht=scontent-dfw5-2.xx&oh=00_AfBj5_LIu1r7TdzoqIhEiZ4VwtXmoZUUEFJALPmsFDDseg&oe=662CFF7F | person_profile | 0 | N-Labs | https://scontent-dfw5-1.xx.fbcdn.net/v/t39.35426-6/434766852_922483626272666_4628094774003848512_n.jpg?_nc_cat=105&ccb=1-7&_nc_sid=c53f8f&_nc_ohc=PpyzCKy32q4Ab5doDss&_nc_oc=Adhch1ifbMGC7KdfXBgPlM1LH2gDRaPQPZ2kXVLd6ayb8EQh2QQQ7SkzeXkTo-r8p7Y&_nc_ht=scontent-dfw5-1.xx&oh=00_AfCaFCmvbZdA2zAeb3dH5In1robIk8mtlGck8g-CQLjt1A&oe=662CF390 | 0 | 3 | N-Labs | 0 | 0 | 2024-04-22 02:00 | View Edit Delete | |||||||||||||||||||

See if HFX is right for you | Diagnosed with painful diabetic neuropathy, the numbness, burning, and sharp pain in Angela’s fingers and feet started 30 years ago. The constant and debilitating pain kept her from gardening, taking care of her dogs, or sleeping.

She quit her job because she couldn’t drive anymore. “I couldn’t focus on anything but the pain. I was ready to throw in the towel.” After years on high doses of opioids, Angela had to wean off meds completely in 2016 due to kidney failure.

Her twin sister had a different nerve issue that responded well to a spinal cord stimulator, so Angela did some research that led her to Nevro HFX and pain management Dr. Brent Richardson. In November 2022, she tried HFX for one week. “It went so well I didn’t want it to end!” Now, the HFX implant has given her nearly 100% relief from her symptoms.

Today, Angela spends time with family and friends without withdrawing due to pain. She can pursue her passions of gardening and playing with her 7 dogs. She is driving again, too. Angela tells others, “Be your own advocate and give HFX a chance!”

Find out if you qualify at www.HFXforPDN.com
#NevroHFX #DiabeticNeuropathy

Results may vary. I looked down at the delicious food with disappointment.
I quickly took out $10 and left them on the table as I casually walked out of the diner , but not with out saying thank you to the sweet lady . 。
I walked down the street and behind some buildings trying to get back into the forest .
Next thing I knew I felt a slight pain as I felt a needle go into my neck as I felt myself falling .
I gripped my head as I felt like I had been hit by a bat 100 times , I tried to get up but felt my arms get pulled back . I slowly opened my eyes and looked down to see I had chains around my wrists and it connected to the brick wall behind me . " god " . Was all I could say .
How had I come this far just to get trapped all thanks to a needle, This so so disappointing.
" We will be ok " said my wolf Emory .
" How can you say that when we are literally trapped in a dungeon " I said back to her.
I looked up as I heard doors being opened , soon i heard some foot steps coming down the hallway . Soon I saw one of the boys that was at the diner .
" You're finally awake , Why are you on blue moon territory " said the man .
" In what ?? I was just passing by just trying to eat " was all I said .
" why don't you smell like a regular wolf , you have no scent " asked the unknown man .
" I don't know what you're talking about " was all I said
" Tell that to my alpha when he gets back " was all he said as he nodded and left.
What is up with these people , all I did was stop by to get some pancakes which I didn't even get to finish .
As soon as he left the other dude looked at me and opened the door and made sure to shut it behind him .
" Are you sure you don't want to answer ? Because when my alpha gets here it will be way worse on you " said the man as he looked me up and down .
That seemed to hit a nerve because soon he punched me across my face causing my head to slam against the wall behind me . Soon the world around me started disappearing once again .
" What did you do " I heard someone say .
" She wasn't Talking " was all the dude that hit me said.
I kept listening trying not to move so they would just go away , but all I wanted to do was hold my face from all the pain I was currently feeling .
" I know you're awake " said the first stranger.
I just sighed and let out a breath as I felt a sharp pain on my head from the movement . I sat up and gripped my head .
" Really ? " stranger 1 asked stranger 2 .
" Like I said she wasn't talking " was all stranger 2 said .
" What's your name " asked stranger 1
" Lucy " was all I said remembering the diner .
Stranger 1 raised an eyebrow not looking amused . He looked at stranger two then back at me and then inhaled .
" you have a scent now " said stranger 1 .
Truth be told I knew why I didn't have a scent and why I have one now . I had a witch make special pills for me that would hide my scent. And since I haven't taken it , it's wearing off .
" You—- " he started but was cut off by the door which was slammed open. I could just hear a pair of footsteps coming down the hall making me nervous for some reason . The closer the footsteps got the more anxiety I got . And from how they all stood up straighter I knew this person was important.
" Alpha " was all I heard as they all bowed .
" god " was all I could say as I knew I was screwed now , All that running just to die in a cage like a dog.
They stopped right in front of the doors but I was too scared to look up , mom I will finally meet you again if you're even dead . I wouldn't know but if so we will meet again soon. Ok I can look up maybe he will feel bad .
I looked up and everything around me stopped , I was starring into a pair of cold grey eyes . I had never seen anyone that carried so much on there shoulders . He looked at me with zero emotion I watched as he looked me up and down with disgust? Ouch.
" Mate Mate Mate " Emory started yelling in my head.
I wish the earth would open up right under me and swallow me whole , I spent my whole life running just to die by the person that was supposed to help me . Maybe he will help me ... by killing me .
He looked at me one last time and then looked at stranger 1 from what I could tell they were mind linking and then walked away . Not once looking my way .
Grayson's POV
" We caught a rogue " said Colby my beta.
" I'll be down later, I'm busy " was all I said closing the link.
After signing some more papers I decided to head down and check on that mutt that crossed into my territory.
I walked out my office and out my front door and headed down the pathway that led me to the dungeons. As I opened the door the scent hit me like a slap to my face .
I Walked down the halls as the smell got stronger , I ignored my beta and the warrior and went straight to the door . I looked down at the girl in front of me , she had long brown hair and some beautiful Blue eyes .
" Mate Mate Mate " said silver my wolf
I looked at Colby, " My office now " was all I said as I walked down the hallway and out of the dungeon . I ran my fingers through my hair already feeling the stress .
I walked into my office and waited for Colby to come up.
" What happened man " was all he said as he looked at me .
" She's my mate " was all I said .
" Wha—- how ?? " he said as he sat down looking as confused as I was .
" That's what I want to know, How is this possible " I said slamming my fist on the desk.
" Do you think ... Someone sent her? " asked Colby .
" why would anyone send her " I asked .
" To distract you?? " he asked .
" Look man I don't know , all I know is this is impossible " said Colby rubbing his face .
" You need to see if you feel the sparks " said Colby .
" This doesn't make sense " was all I said .
Adeline's POV
It had been a couple hours since anyone came down here , since HE came down here . I was starting to feel the affects of not eating those delicious pancakes .
I looked up as I heard the door open and I heard footsteps coming down the hallway , and by the way my heart jumped I'm guessing it's my mate. Soon I saw him and he opened the door . I thought he was coming to get me out but boy was I wrong .
He came up to me and wrapped his hand around my neck tightly , now I would have been turned on if it was for the fact I was starting to loose air .
" Who sent you? " Was all he asked.
" What? " was all I could ask . But I was starting to loose air and his hold on my neck was just getting tighter . And the sparks I was feeling everywhere were making me even more overwhelmed.
" Who sent you , and why do you smell as if you were my mate " was all he asked again getting angrier .
" I don- don't know what you're —- " was all I got to say as I felt myself passing out .
" Grayson ! , you're going to kill her " I heard stranger 1 say .
He looked down at me before letting go of my neck and throwing me harshly on the ground . I quickly grabbed my neck finally getting some air . I gasped for air a couple times still feeling like I had his hands around my neck .
" She looks like she's being honest , look at her " stranger 1 said . They both looked down at me and watched me for a while .
" There's Just no way " was all he said still looking at me . He then bent down and ran a finger down my arm causing me to shiver and sparks to run down my arm and throughout my body .
" Grayson—- " he started but was cut off .
" They are there Colby " was all he said. Hmmm so strangers 1 name is Colby. And my mate was Grayson , hmmm .
" you know if it was a witch you wouldn't have been able to feel the sparks as much as you do , they wouldn't have been as strong as real ones . " said Colby .
" I know " was all he said as he looked down at me .
Soon after they left without saying a word and once again I was left with pain all over my body .
After what I believe to have been 2 days Colby came down here opened the door and told me to follow him .
I cautiously got up and limped his way , my body was weak from not getting any food and plus when Grayson threw me down I think he hurt something and I've been dealing with this pain for the past 2 days .
I saw as he frowned his eyebrows seeing as I was limping and weak . He patiently waited for me until finally he sighed and just came and picked me up causing me to flinch away from him due to the pain I was feeling through my whole body .
" What happened to you ? " he asked but I just ignored him and stayed silent . He let out a sigh and looked down at me.
" Look I'm sorry for leaving you down here and for what that other dude did to you , but we had strict orders not to get you out yet . And as of that man he got taken care of . " he said .
I just stayed silent not once looking at him , I did not need apologies from him , he technically hadn't done anything to me , who needed to come and apologize was Grayson .
" So what's your real name " was all he asked .
" Lucy " was all I said back.
" come on we both know that's not your real name " he said.
" Yes, it is " I said raising a brow at him.
" No it isn't " he said again.
" How are you going to tell me my name isn't Lucy when it 100% is " I said back .
He just stared at me with a face waiting for me to tell him my real name .
" Adeline " I whispered.
" Adeline.. Nice , you got a last name Adeline? " he asked .
" I don't know what my last name is " I said getting sad at the fact I don't know what my last name is .
He just looked down at me and didn't say anything believing what I said .
Soon he led me out the door and onto a path , I covered my eyes the sun being too bright for my poor eyes that hadn't seen the light in four days .
After 5 minutes of walking he led me to a beautiful 2 story White House , I just admired every bit of it . I had never been inside a beautiful home like this . I've only ever stayed in the woods on the ground or once in a while I would stay in cheap motels .
He walked through the front door and in front of me stood a big stair case that led up to what looked like a hallway filled with doors .
He walked up the stairs and went down the hallways and made a left turn and took me to the last door I looked behind him and noticed another door right in front but all the way on the other side .
" This is your room , you have clothes in the closet and everything you could need is in the bathroom " said Colby .
" Thank you " was all I said as he set me down on my feet causing me to bite my lip hard as to not make a sound .
After 30 minutes of untangling my hair I brushed my teeth and jumped onto the nice comfy looking bed , and fuckkkk was this comfortable. This was definitely way better then the hard forest grounds . I wrapped the blanket around me and before I knew it I was drifting off to sleep .
I quickly stood up gripping my head from the pain that ran down my body as I made a fast movement. I wiped away the tears that were falling down my face . Once again I was having the same dream I had every night .
My mom telling me to run and find my mate , but now it was different . Because I had found him and here I am still having the same nightmares .
Except this time I could see her face less , I was forgetting her ....
I pulled the blanket closer to me as I hugged it and cried into it silently, even after being alone in the dark woods I still learned to quietly cry and not make a sound .
Finally deciding to get up and make me some food now that I was getting hungry , I went into the bathroom and quickly washed my face .
I went down the stairs and found my way back into the kitchen and opened the fridge seeing what I could make myself to eat .
I pulled out some chicken I found and looked through the pantry to see what I could make . I pulled out some pasta and some Alfredo sauce , I looked to make sure nothing was expired and then started looking for stuff to season my chicken with , cause we will not have unseasoned chicken.
I started preparing everything and after almost an hour everything was almost done , I checked the oven to see if my bread was nice and cooked and it was so I pulled it out . Just as I was pulling it out I heard someone clear there throat causing me to almost burn myself and drop the bread .
I looked to where the sound came from and there stood Grayson looking around uncomfortably .
After a while of us just standing there I finally decided to speak .
" Would you like some dinner ? I just made it " I asked him .
" okay " was all he said as he grabbed a plate and started putting food in two plates as I grabbed the plate with the bread and set it down on the dining table . I went back in and got us some of the drink I had made .
When I got back I noticed he put my plate down opposite of him , on the other side of the table . I just ignored the hurt I felt seeing this and just sat down . I looked down seeing he gave me way too much food and I wasn't even that hungry anymore .
Ughh all my heard work for me to not even be able to enjoy It . I looked down at the food and grabbed a piece of bread and just started tearing pieces and eating it . I finally decided to take a bite of the pasta and Jesus Christ could I cook. This tasted amazing , don't ask me how I knew to make this when I've lived in the forest my whole life .
" why are you a rouge , what Did you do " asked Grayson out of nowhere . Causing me to stop chewing and force the food down my throat .
" What? " was all I could say .
" Why are you a rouge " he asked again.
" I — I don't know " was all I said putting my fork down .
" How do you not know ? " he asked .
" I — " I started but was interrupted by him again .
" For someone to become a rouge you would have had to have done something horrible to be kicked out " was all he said starring at me hard .
" I don't know " was all I said .
" You don't smell like a low rank " he said leaning on the table . I just starred at him trying to figure out what was going through his head at this very moment .
" I didn't do anything " I said again .
" i dont believe you " was all he said .
I just picked my plate up and took it back into the kitchen and just decided to put it in the fridge . And then went back and picked up my glass of water taking it with me back up stairs .
" You ended up in my territory this is not a coincidence. It is impossible for me and you to be mated so you are up to something and I'm going to get to the bottom of it , and when I find out you will see who the real Grayson is " he said causing my stomach to drop .
" What , why is it impossible " I asked looking back at him . He just ignored me, looking into my eyes .
" tell me " I said .
" No " was all he said .
" Grays—-"
" ENOUGH !!! " he yelled slamming his fist on the table and standing up and stalking towards me .
" Talk to me with respect mut " he said pushing me against the wall with his hand around my neck , and once again not in a good way .
" Don't touch me like that Again " I said throwing the water in his face . And Jesus Christ was that the worst thing I could have done in that moment .
" A switch seemed to have flipped because he looked madder then before if that was even possible and he grabbed the glass out my hand and smashed it above my head . I felt as the pieces of glass fell on my head cutting me .
He grabbed my wrist next and gripped it hard I just looked him in the eyes the whole time , as he continued to grip my wrist tighter I could feel that he was about to brake my wrist but not once did I loose eye contact with him . Even through the tears that were starting to come down my face .
" Grayson " I heard from the right causing him to look and finally release me . I just walked away ignoring Colby and ran up the stairs . Instead of healing I could feel my body getting weaker by the day .
I went into my bathroom in my room to examine my head , I had some cuts but they weren't too bad . I looked down at my wrist and saw how purple it was , my wrists looked so small in his hand , I really thought my wrist was going to snap , and it would have if it weren't for Colby . I owe him one .
I decided to just call it a day and go lay in my bed , after hours of just laying there I finally felt my self drifting off to sleep . | LEARN_MORE | https://a.read4funs.com/ad/ZmFuY3lOb3ZlbC8xNTc5NDY | 149657464895196 | ForFun-104 | https://facebook.com/61552426861640 | 56 | 1 | 801,676,781,835,773 | 2024-04-22 02:00 | person_profile | eligible | 0 | 0 | NONE | 0 | 0 | 1 | 0 | Learn more | 0 | ForFun-104 | 120209451186750350 | a.read4funs.com | NONE | video | https://a.read4funs.com/ad/ZmFuY3lOb3ZlbC8xNTc5NDYvMjAyNDA0MjIxNDE5NDYvcGFnZQ==?adid={{ad.id}} | 2024-04-22 01:22 | https://scontent.frkh1-1.fna.fbcdn.net/v/t39.35426-6/439139397_1180749419953831_5399361000954502100_n.jpg?stp=dst-jpg_s60x60&_nc_cat=108&ccb=1-7&_nc_sid=c53f8f&_nc_ohc=sSS6jwtlD5UAb6TCVSO&_nc_oc=AdjDNF3BczEcCzjb1wszRtYAHpZxEVxdwAgLt7E8_aoPuO6V0IS7DaSbAQRF0Tmklws&_nc_ht=scontent.frkh1-1.fna&oh=00_AfAyIZGCn3xJV0F4eIJ8HBvpU-yd6OhQA3wIsOmekBjJ4g&oe=662D029F | person_profile | 0 | ForFun-104 | https://scontent.frkh1-1.fna.fbcdn.net/v/t39.35426-6/439087968_1195420998287541_1660109273208448399_n.jpg?_nc_cat=105&ccb=1-7&_nc_sid=c53f8f&_nc_ohc=-rDEPzQFhoQAb6FyBIM&_nc_ht=scontent.frkh1-1.fna&oh=00_AfDKlrzvMofCYIFq311njNWYVAubfmojM7BjTcF4d8d1fg&oe=662D1BFA | 0 | 3 | ForFun-104 | 0 | 0 | 2024-04-22 02:00 | View Edit Delete | |||||||||||||||||||||

The last cord of the bond snaps like an elastic band.
The room spins as I feel something warm trickle down my legs. Looking down, I see blood.
"I'm sorry, my baby…" I whisper, holding my lower abdomen.
"Why didn't you tell me?" His hands lift me up as he screams for a doctor. Carrying me away as the world around me turns black.
————————
Marissa POV.
My fated mate Alpha Damien hates me and only uses me for two things, my blood being one and my body the other.
"Why do you treat me like that? We are mates. We should love each other!"
"I'll never love you or think of you as my mate. But you'll do your duties to me physically, well, not until Jessica returns. You are nothing compared to Jessica!"
The one person who is supposed to love me unconditionally only looks at me with disdain. It feels like he rips my heart out of my chest and then stamps on it. I am not the one he holds in his heart and I never will be. The one who he holds in his heart is his childhood sweetheart, Jessica Morgan. I knew then, like I know now.
My name is Marissa Gilbert. I come from a long line of healers who have precious blood, worth as much as gold dust, though it is not golden. Even with this magical blood that has the capabilities to heal any condition and injury, one would think I would be treated as a queen, sadly that is not the case. I'm looked down upon in the pack all because of what and who my parents are. They were traitors as they went rogue, leaving me to my grandfather without a word. No one is permitted to mention their names within the New Dawn Pack because they are traitors. As for what they did to be labelled as such, the story changes with who you ask.
Growing up, I've been subjected to all kinds of humiliations. While the most favoured girl in the pack, Jessica, always had her brother Beta Jake and Alpha Damien tightly wrapped around her little finger. She was to be Damien's chosen mate and Luna, but that all changed the night before their official engagement announcement.
The night I became of age and we discovered I am Alpha Damien's fated mate. A fated bond is stronger than a chosen one for werewolves. Jessica was enraged and fled the pack after they had an argument. As mate bond is irresistible for werewolves, Damien married me in secret with the promise that if I helped his pack members with my blood, he would mark me and make me his Luna. However, he has never fulfilled his promise. I know he's been waiting for Jessica.
If I was a vindictive person, I would want them to all go off! But I don't have it in me. Shaking my head at how my life has turned out, I stand on shaking legs as I head back to the emergency department. I am exhausted. They have used my blood more frequently over the past week because of a building collapsing. No one cares if it kills me as long as I heal their loved ones. It is enough to make me bitter, but I always try not to be.
Walking past members of the pack and colleagues, they all look at me with hatred and whisper behind my back, which is pointless. We are wolves and our hearing is exceptional. They may as well say it to my face.
"Pull yourself together Marissa." I tell myself I won't let them see that their words and actions get to me. It won't do any good.
Increasing my pace, my stomach rolls, I jog towards the bathroom. I vomit what little I had for lunch. Flushing the toilet and opening the cubicle door as I stagger towards the sink to rinse my mouth and wash my face. I have been vomiting frequently. What is wrong with me?
It dawns on me that I haven't had my cycle. My eyes widen at the realisation, tears streaming down my face. No this, this isn't happening, it can't happen. He always made sure I took the morning-after pill because he doesn't want me to be the mother of his heir.
There is only one way to be certain. After I have composed myself, I head to Dr Brendan's office. Dr Brendan was a close friend of my grandfather's and dare I say he is my friend as well.
I explained what was happening and blood tests were taken and sent to the laboratory for urgent testing. Other tests were performed as we waited for the results. Maybe it is just because my blood hasn't replenished or the fact I am exhausted. After a short while, a ding sounds and the printer starts up.
Dr Brendan looks at the screen, then to me and back to the screen. I shift uncomfortably in the chilling metallic seat. It must be terrible for him to be looking like he has seen a ghost.
"Marissa, I will not ask how this has happened. I know the mechanics of the body." I furrow my eyebrows. What does he mean? He hands me the report as I read he continues.
"You're pregnant. But your energy level is life-threateningly low, which is risky for both you and your baby." I am stunned to speak. But I still can't help myself weeping when staring at the foetus' picture, wondering if the arrival of this new life would make him have a soft place for me?
"Please, Dr Brendan. What should I do?" my head snaps up as tears leave my eyes.
"You will have to be admitted and placed under observation. But we need the confirmation of the baby's father too." he asks, sighing as he adjusts his glasses.
I lift my teary gaze to him and shake my head. To be pregnant is already a death sentence to me. Revealing our relationship is nothing short of killing the last hope of keeping the baby. I fold the report and put it in my bag.
"I'm sorry. I can't divulge that information. Please keep this between us until I decide what to do." I stand up and walk out of the office and, in turn, leave the hospital.
Walking towards my car, the weather matches my mood. The wind has a chill to it as it whips around my legs like a serpent wrapping me up in its icy clutches. The drizzle becomes heavy; it matches my tears. Unlocking my car, I climb in, slamming the door. I sob as I place my head on the steering wheel.
"I'm sorry baby. I won't subject us to whatever that's gonna take you away. Momma's got you." I wipe my face and head back to the pack house.
After some time, I pull up, and exit the car. I hurry towards the familiar pack house as it rains more heavily.
Walking inside, I remove my coat and bag before I make my way to the kitchen to make myself some food. I used to put too much attention on Damien's diet while neglecting myself. But now my baby is the priority and I must take good care of us. I approach the fridge and instinctively remove ingredients, only realising the dish I've made after it's prepared. Spaghetti Bolognaise. I scoff. This is Damien's favourite dish.
As I am washing the dishes and placing them in the dishwasher, a spooky figure comes out of nowhere. It's Lydia, one of the Omega maids in the Pack House, who hates me just like everyone else in this wretched place.
"You're pathetic and pregnant! I have seen the shadow of a man entering your room. You are nothing but a bimbo!" She chuckles with my report in her hand.
"Did you snoop through my bag? !" I raise an eyebrow at her and clench my fists to my sides. She seems to have it out for me, and won't spare any chance to create trouble in my direction. This moment is definitely one she'll seize.
Any other day, I would ignore her and never retaliate, but not anymore. I will not be a pushover anymore, not when I need to protect my pup.
"I would suggest you keep your mouth shut. We wouldn't want you to lose your tongue now, would we?" I growl out as I shoulder barges past her out of the kitchen. Little does she know the man she has seen is her Alpha and my mate, but it's none of my business.
"I can't wait to tell the Alpha. You will be thrown out of here like the garbage you are!" She lashes out behind me.
I smirk. Snitches get stitches, but who cares. I head to my room to wait for Damien. I am still debating if I should tell Damien. If I do, he would potentially kill me; but I don't, what if he might at least show mercy to his own pup?
However, Damien doesn't come back as usual. I tell myself that being an Alpha has various duties to perform. If he had marked me like he promised I would be able to mind link him, but here we are. I never know where he is or whom he is with. I suppose it's a comfort that he hasn't marked me. No doubt I would have felt his betrayal.
As the night grows late, I pick up my phone and dial the familiar number. I can't wait any more, I must know his decision on this baby.
The phone rings for a good amount of time before the weird running and heavy breathing breaks forth from the other end of the phone.
"Hello Alpha, will you come back today? " I bite my lower lip in silence.
"Damien, my love, save me." my eyes go wide and my ego crashes. I hear the voice that has plagued my dreams and caused me this amount of pain. It's Jessica, she has returned.
"Jessica, I'm here. I will save you. Hold on baby, please. I love you." I don't say anything and I know it's wrong to eavesdrop, but I need to know. I can hear the metal sound under the force. I clench my other fist, my nails digging into the flesh on my palm as I feel my blood trickle.
"Marissa, are you there? Are you okay?" I scoff at his fake concern.
"Oh, yes. When will you be home?" I pretend to be as nonchalant as possible. I know what he is going to say.
"I need you to get to the hospital, there is an emergency. A pack member needs your help. She was wounded." I laugh inwardly at him, also at myself. He is audacious to ask this of me. Me the one who has lived up to our deal yet he hasn't. He must think I'm a fool. Well the joke is on him. I need to leave, for my baby. I will not risk the life of my pup to save that god awful woman.
Disappointed, I hang up the phone and start ripping my belongings into my suitcase. How stupid have I been? To think that she would never return. I need to leave; I need to get away, and fast.
Closing the zip on my luggage, my door bursts open and a dishevelled-looking Damien stands there, panting, his hands covered in blood. His gaze locked on me and mine on him. His eyes shift to the luggage.
"Going somewhere?"
"I said, where are you going?" He snarls at me as he stalks closer. My heart is pounding against my ribcage. I will not be subjected to this any longer. I know why he is here and I will have no part in it.
"I don't see what concern it is of yours, where I am going. After all, I'm nothing to you now that your precious Jessica is back." I spit my venom at him. It's stupid of me to show my defiance to him, but right now I need to leave. To leave this wretched place for the good of my unborn pup. A pup that he will never know about.
"Yes, she is back, but you are a healer, Marissa. It is your duty to heal those in need and right now, you will fulfil your duty. Or did you forget our agreement?" He frowns, circling me like prey as I clench my fists firmly to my side. The nerve of him to mention the agreement.
"Ha, so you remember the agreement then? Well, I'm sorry to tell you Damien. You never stuck to your end of the agreement, so I have no obligation to stick to mine. You will have your wish. I'm leaving. Give my regards to your beloved." I scoff as I walk towards the door when I'm aggressively ripped back by my arm. I stagger backwards at the force when he snarls in my face, his wolf on the surface.
"You have two options. You either go to the hospital willingly or I drag you by your hair kicking and screaming. It's your call." My lip quivers because I know he will drag me if I don't submit.
I smirk up at him. I will not go without a fight. He has hurt me for the last time. This game of tug and war with him is not worth it. He will always win in the end. He is the Alpha and, regrettably, my mate. A mate I loathe, a mate I want to be rid of.
"The hard way it is then, Don't blame me for showing you no mercy, Marissa." I can't believe such cold words are uttered by his 37 celsius degree mouth. He drags me by my arm, out of my bedroom and down the stairs.
"Let go of me." My emotions are getting the better of me as my head feels dizzy from the anger and pain in my chest. A bitter reminder that I'm only a walking blood bank for him. It will never be me he holds in his heart.
Passing Lydia on the stairs, she smirks at me. How I wish I could tear her apart. Lydia stands there like she is the lady of this house. Her arms folded across her chest. Her chin high, she is arrogant and one day I would love nothing more than to knock her off her perch.
"Alpha, there is something I need to tell you…" Damien stops in his tracks, his grip on me bruising my delicate flash, the flesh pinches under his grip as he faces her.
"Can it wait?" he interrupts her and I pin an icy glare on her.
"I'm afraid not Alpha. Miss Gilbert has broken the law, sir." She says out loud in smug self-satisfaction.
"What law?" He snaps as I struggle to free myself from his iron grip.
"The law that she isn't to mate or bear a pup. I have seen the shadow of a man enter her room, Alpha. She deserves to be punished." I roll my eyes at her as I mockingly scoff, oh Lydia, how stupid can you be?
He snarls and turns dark eyes to me. I don't look away, praying he will believe her and loosen his grip; once he does, I'm gone. But I have no such luck.
"Is this true?" He frowns at me. A ghost of a smirk curls on my lips. Of course, he knows it's true because the man in question is him. He looks at me with emotion in his eyes. Is it betrayal? Sadness? Heartache? Whatever it is. It's quite amusing to see.
"What do you think?" I spit back, not looking from his eyes when it dawns on him. His gaze darkens at my words, he hasn't realised that it is him she has seen. I will not correct this. I can't without Lydia knowing who I am.
"You are so shameless to admit it to our Alpha. You're nothing but a bimbo. Death is the punishment you deserve." Lydia added.
I smile at her, baring my teeth, my gaze cold as he raises his hand and slaps me across my face. My head snaps to the side and I taste blood on my tongue. He actually believed her, her a cunning bimbo. How stupid is he? He would never believe me anyway.
"How dare you betray me? I'll get even with you when we come back from the hospital." Damien whispers to my ears, in a voice that only I can hear.
Dizziness takes hold as I stagger. If he wasn't holding me up, I would have fallen. He drags me to the front door and takes my coat and bag before dragging me out into the cold, wet night. The rain is torrential; each drop burns my skin with its icy coldness, a sense of dread washes over me. I am reminded that I will not be able to leave. Not unless I'm dead.
Damien fiercely rips the car door open and shoves me inside. I slide over to the far side of the back seat and pull my legs up to my chest.
"Are you ok Luna?" Beta Jake sheds his crocodile tears. I don't look at him. He is the only one who knows of our fake marriage and doesn't care at all. Like his Alpha he only cares about her, his sister Jessica.
I keep my eyes glued to the window. When Damien enters the car and instructs him to drive. My warm breath forms on the interior of the car window. Condensation forms in contrast to the cold storm outside. The storm outside matches the storm within me. I know I could lose my pup if I go through with this. I can't let that happen. I see myself in the reflection of the window. I'm soaked by the rain and my seaweed-like long hair is plastered to my body. I look grey, sickly even. This is done to me by him. My mate.
"Luna? Are you ok?" again I ignore his words when I feel the burning gaze at the back of my head. His cold eyes burning deep, marrying my flesh with his glare.
"What's wrong with you Marissa?" He snarls out as I don't turn to him. I solely watch the street lights whizz past the car as the sound of the rain streams down the window.
"I'm exhausted. I need to rest." Is all I say in acknowledgement. My fate is now sealed. I should have run sooner. I should have left years ago. I was stupid to think he would ever love me. He only holds Jessica in his heart and no-one else.
"Get some rest. We will be there soon and Marissa, you will do this or I will bleed you myself." Alpha Damien shows his care in a way as if he didn't show at all.
I don't respond. I just wipe the tear that has escaped my eyes. Closing my eyes, I try to build up as much of my strength as possible, but I know it's futile. I will no doubt lose my life tonight. I replay what my grandfather said to me. He always said that being a healer is an honour, even though I would not be allowed to create life. I will always be allowed to save lives. You need to hold your composure and not be too emotional. If you are too emotional your healing ability will waiver.
But who will help me when I need it? The answer is simple. Nobody, I'm all alone. Well there was one, his name is Robert. Robert was laying nearly dead when I discovered him by the pack border. He had lost so much blood that the ground was saturated in it. Grandfather had been teaching me in secret the magical effects of our blood. So I couldn't let an innocent child die when I knew my blood could save him. I watched with fascination as his wounds healed, leaving no trace of injury. He woke up, and told me with a straight face that he would repay me. I gave him an uneasy titter, that was the first time people had expressed gratitude to me. Since then, Robert became my only childhood friend. He would stand up for me and protect me when the triplet bullied me.
"I'm sorry, baby." Inwardly I apologise to my pup. I'm a failure. A failure like everyone says I am. Some mother I am, I can't even protect my pup.
Pulling up to the hospital. I'm snapped out of my daze as the door is ripped open and Damien grabs me out. He drags me towards the emergency department. I stumble but manage to pull myself up. The automatic doors open and the scent of disinfectant hits my nose. My stomach rolls and I fight the urge to vomit as I'm dragged through the department to the emergency room. The halls are eerily quiet; the only sound is my heels against the cold tile.
Dr Brendan comes out as he looks at me and to Damien. Dr Brendan is a general surgeon, he is tasked with many different roles within the hospital. He has experience in many different subjects. I dare say my grandfather was the best in our world and Dr Brendan was next after him.
"Alpha, unfortunately, Miss Morgan has a rare blood group. We don't have that blood here and by the time we get it sent from another pack, I'm afraid it would be too late." Dr Brendan looks at me with sadness, knowing I am going to be sacrificed to save her.
"Use Marissa. You know her blood can heal anything right. Use her blood to save Jessica." He pushes me towards Dr Brendan. I stumble as Jake catches my arm to steady me. I nod my thanks to him and see he holds my coat and bag. The bag that holds my blood results, the blood results that confirm my pregnancy.
"Alpha, I cannot use Marissa. She is in no condition." My eyes widen at him and I say a silent plea for him not to tell him.
"You will do as I ask. She is a healer. It is her job to heal. Marissa is only tired. She can rest after this." I close my eyes, praying to the Goddess to save me just this once. | LEARN_MORE | https://a.letsreadnovel.com/ad/bGV0c3JlYWQvMTU3Njg | 103537452734793 | Lett011 | https://facebook.com/100092011133637 | 61 | 1 | 438,090,128,704,055 | 2024-04-22 02:00 | person_profile | eligible | 0 | 0 | NONE | 0 | 0 | 1 | 0 | Learn more | 0 | Lett011 | 120208822004220357 | a.letsreadnovel.com | NONE | video | https://a.letsreadnovel.com/ad/bGV0c3JlYWQvMTU3NjgxLzIwMjQwNDIyMTAyNDQ4L3BhZ2U=?adid={{ad.id}} | 2024-04-21 21:31 | https://scontent-ord5-2.xx.fbcdn.net/v/t39.35426-6/437374852_458679676824257_203191640025431112_n.jpg?stp=dst-jpg_s60x60&_nc_cat=100&ccb=1-7&_nc_sid=c53f8f&_nc_ohc=DqMPLa5V0RsAb5ZOejn&_nc_ht=scontent-ord5-2.xx&oh=00_AfD-6V2iOO25ErspWbnz_XH9aOIV52Wni8hYbizrzV8FBA&oe=662D225F | person_profile | 0 | Lett011 | https://scontent-ord5-1.xx.fbcdn.net/v/t39.35426-6/439671873_744799140812871_1835549484255676391_n.jpg?_nc_cat=101&ccb=1-7&_nc_sid=c53f8f&_nc_ohc=tyMmqkT5brwAb62AAex&_nc_ht=scontent-ord5-1.xx&oh=00_AfALO6AxYjtFma6s5JAE5kaKL8pps6LeKC1GUHZ3kJLamA&oe=662D18E3 | 0 | 3 | Lett011 | 0 | 0 | 2024-04-22 02:00 | View Edit Delete | |||||||||||||||||||||

Yes | 2024-04-22 23:24 | active | 582 | 0 | 415740514543114 | 🔥🔥 Click to Read 👉🏻👉🏻 | "I, Damien Carius, Alpha of The New Dawn Pack, reject you Marissa Gilbert as my mate and Luna."
"I accept your rejection." The last cord of the bond snaps like an elastic band.
"You will do as I ask. She is a healer. It is her job to heal. Marissa is only tired. She can rest after this." I close my eyes, praying to the Goddess to save me just this once. | LEARN_MORE | https://b.ereaderlab.com/ad/ZVJlYWRlci8xNTc2OTAvMj | 191841157345630 | Red112 | https://facebook.com/61554857037374 | 20 | 1 | 1,155,043,185,518,950 | 2024-04-22 02:00 | person_profile | eligible | 0 | 0 | NONE | 0 | 0 | 1 | 0 | Learn more | 0 | Red112 | 120208161987270407 | b.ereaderlab.com | NONE | video | https://b.ereaderlab.com/ad/ZVJlYWRlci8xNTc2OTAvMjAyNDA0MjIxMDI1MjMvcGFnZQ==?adid={{ad.id}} | 2024-04-21 21:32 | https://scontent-dfw5-2.xx.fbcdn.net/v/t39.35426-6/439713525_957183648992353_8450108874738659594_n.jpg?stp=dst-jpg_s60x60&_nc_cat=108&ccb=1-7&_nc_sid=c53f8f&_nc_ohc=HcA2Ny55jZEAb6eBkc5&_nc_ht=scontent-dfw5-2.xx&oh=00_AfAGkpqDDS5VjItL18ZQ0C_Yt6wO6sR7kBDcN-fELwOIlQ&oe=662D1B9D | person_profile | 0 | Red112 | https://scontent-dfw5-1.xx.fbcdn.net/v/t39.35426-6/439928211_1207811273962465_4980607008224601469_n.jpg?_nc_cat=111&ccb=1-7&_nc_sid=c53f8f&_nc_ohc=oczlz76181QAb4bFmSw&_nc_ht=scontent-dfw5-1.xx&oh=00_AfAUbnGnDXVrRC8PTFQkLuyhEsLT1b-ma0dvL3_ro9vnmA&oe=662CFD3C | 0 | 3 | Red112 | 0 | 0 | 2024-04-22 02:00 | View Edit Delete | |||||||||||||||||||||

Butt dialing your boss… And leaving a dirty voicemail when you’re uhh… “thinking” about them.
Just had a sexual fantasy with my boss. I stand on legs that are just as shaky as he said they’d be. My throat hurts from moaning and I’m sore as all get-out. As I stand, my phone clatters to the floor.
I reach down to pick it up—
And freeze in horror.
Ruslan’s name is lighting up my screen.
And the call is active.
For seven minutes and thirty-two seconds, I’ve been masturbating to the absolute filthiest fantasy I’ve ever had, starring Ruslan Oryolov.
————————
Emma
If anyone has a reason to cry, it’s me. My boss is an arrogant prick and my sister is dead and her husband is more of a burden than a help and I have three innocent kids I’m doing my best to raise right but I can’t seem to catch a break and I need sleep and food and more coffee and a vacation and a fresh start and—the list just goes on. One reason for each of my thousand tears.
“Auntie Em! Auntie Em, wake up.”
I come to with a start. The sun is slanting in through the blinds and I have absolutely no freaking idea what planet I’m on. I feel a sharp line of pain on my cheek. It takes me a long moment to realize that it’s because I have a shoelace plastered to my skin. I peel it off with a wince and look up to see Josh standing over me.
“Auntie Em, it’s 7:45. We’re late for school.”
The next fifteen minutes are a blur. I get the girls up and dressed in the least coordinated outfits in the history of terrible parenting. I hurl random food into their lunchboxes with no regard for nutritional value. And then we’re all sprinting out the door.
Ben, needless to say, doesn’t so much as lift a finger to help.
I get the evil eye from the receptionist at the kids’ school when I drop them off well into first period. I just pop a peck on each of their foreheads and then turn to Bane.
I get another evil eye from the lobby receptionist there, too, but I don’t quite realize why until I’m in the elevator up to the thirtieth floor and I catch sight of my reflection in the polished bronze.
I look like an absolute shitshow. My hair is a rat’s nest on my head and my blouse is on backwards. The fashionable one-shoulder cutout is framing my frayed bra strap instead of a tasteful slice of arm.
Wet street dogs are more put-together than I am.
It’s way too late to go back now, though. I can already imagine Ruslan’s eyebrow. It’s probably halfway up his scalp by now. His voice is going to be absolutely frigid when he hears me come stumbling in. Something like:
“You have got to be kidding me.”
Wait. That wasn’t my imagination. That was actually his voice.
I open my eyes and turn around to realize that the elevator doors have opened—and who should be standing there but my beloved, benevolent boss?
Sure enough, his eyebrow is locked and loaded and that cruelly sharp jaw of his clenched so tight that I wonder idly if he has a good dentist on speed dial.
I open my mouth to defend myself, but what is there even to say? “I’m sorry,” I blurt. “I fell asleep after—It was a long night and—I’m sorry. I’m so, so sorry.”
He doesn’t so much as blink. “I expect you to dress appropriately for your job, Ms. Carson,” he growls. “Not do the walk of shame through my building.”
I frown. “The walk of—? Hold on. No, that’s not what this is. I didn’t—”
“You’re wearing yesterday’s skirt and flaunting your undergarments like you think you can seduce your way out of being—” He checks his watch. “—two and a half hours late. I’m not sure if you think I’m stupid or easy. I’m also not sure which of those two would offend me more.”
One word snags my attention. “Seduce?” I parrot stupidly.
Out of nowhere, thoughts of what it would look like to seduce Ruslan Oryolov come prancing through my head.
Wrapping his tie around my fist and bringing that smirking snarl down to my lips for a taste.
Lying back on his desk, pencil skirt hiked above my hips, while he shoves my panties to the side and devours me like his last meal.
On my knees on his office carpet as he stands over me and—
“Ms. Carson, I’m not interested in your explanations. Go do your job. Before I find someone else to do it for you.”
With that, he brushes past me and gets on the elevator. I turn and look dumbly at him as the doors close on his face. The last thing I see is the arrogant slant of his mouth.
Then that, too, disappears.
My cheeks are burning red for the rest of the day. Luckily, I have an extra cardigan at my desk, so I’m able to cover up the worst of my wardrobe malfunction.
But my phone keeps pinging all day long with messages from Ruslan. Do this. Send that. Fax this. Email that. He’s as unbearable as ever. Everything from the expiration date on his coffee creamer to the status of the conference room chairs he’s so anal about merits yet another scathing comment from him. And after yesterday’s nightmare, I’m running on fumes.
My only saving grace is that he has a gala tonight, so he’s scheduled to leave the office at 5:00 P.M. sharp. I’m counting down the last ten seconds until the clock strikes five like I’m a Times Square partier on New Year’s Eve.
“Seven… Six… Five… Four… Three… Two… One…”
Ping. Another text. I moan and look down to see the devil’s name pop up on my phone.
RUSLAN: My office. Now.
Goddammit. I was so close.
Sighing, I get up and slink inside.
“Shut the door,” he orders. It’s dark in here. The curtains are sealed tight and the temperature is Arctic. He’s a mass of shadows behind his desk, huge and fragrant. The only thing I can see is the sharp light of his amber eyes.
“Sit.” A shadowy hand points at the chair across from his desk.
I perch at the edge of the seat in question. My nerves are buzzing and frayed. I’m so, so tired. But I can’t show him that. Matter of fact, I refuse to show him that.
I won’t give the smug prick the satisfaction of thinking he’s outlasted me.
“I asked you yesterday if I had your full attention,” he begins. “I’m not so sure I do. So let me say this: if your priorities lie anywhere other than this company, then I will find a new assistant. I’m not a nice man, Ms. Carson. So believe me when I tell you that this is not the kind of place where you get three strikes before something bad happens. You mess up once—you’re gone. Am I making myself clear?”
I swallow. “Yes, sir.”
He nods. “Good. Be here on time tomorrow. Dress like you intend to keep your job. Now, if you’ll excuse me… there’s the door.”
He looks down at his phone and poof, it’s like I don’t exist anymore.
But I. Am. Pissed.
He doesn’t know what I’m going through. He doesn’t know Ben is snoring and farting in my living room, or that three little kids are waiting on me to pick them up from after-school care. He doesn’t know that I buried my sister or that I’m barely keeping my head above water. He doesn’t know anything.
“No.” I blurt it before I can think better of it. “No. No. I’m not some little worm under your shoe, Mr. Oryolov. I’m a—I mean, screw you, I’m a person! I have a life and hobbies and people who depend on me. I’m real! So I’d appreciate it very much if you’d pull your smug head out of your smug prick and treat me with some respect for once.”
Ruslan blinks.
Blinks.
Blinks.
“Is there something else, Ms. Carson?”
That’s when I realize that my whole little tirade took place entirely in my head. It wasn’t real. All imagined. Just a pleasant little detour to a fantasy land where I give him my two cents and then some.
I swallow past the nasty taste in my throat and stand. “No, sir,” I say quietly. “Nothing at all.”
-
I ended the call with my best friend, Phoebe.
Then a face pops up on the black screen of my mind’s eye.
It’s Ruslan because, like I told Pheebs, he haunts me even when I’m off the clock. He’s smiling that smile she described. That come-to-bed-and-let-me-show-you-what-I-can-do-to-you smile. The camera of my imagination pulls back and floats down.
Imaginary Ruslan is wearing an ivory white button-down shirt with the top two buttons undone. Enough to see a dusting of dark chest hair and the edge of a tattoo I can’t quite make out. He flexes his forearms in front of him. Those knuckles crack, louder than I expected, and I let out a surprised little gasp.
I like when you make that noise, he croons. Shall I see if I can make you do it again?
I’m nodding before I’m even realizing what I’m doing. “Make me moan,” I plead.
I’m also touching the inside of my knee before I realize what I’m doing. But it’s not my hands that are doing it—or at least, it doesn’t feel like it’s my hands. It’s Ruslan’s hands, huge and powerful, palming my thigh and drifting up under the edge of my pencil skirt.
You’ve been a naughty assistant, he growls, breath minty in my face where it mingles with the woodsy spice of his cologne. There’s a faint laugh on the edge of his voice, like he knows that this whole thing is crazy but he’s just going with it because it’s hotter than it is ridiculous. You’ve been so very, very bad. Step into my office and shut the door.
The rest of the world disappears like I just followed his orders. Gone is my messy apartment and the lingering smell of burrito cheese. Ruslan is all I smell now.
That cologne.
That breath.
Beneath it, that musk that sets my nerve endings on fire.
“Are you going to punish me, Ruslan?” I whisper.
I’m on the literal edge of my seat, grinding and bucking against my fingers. Imaginary Ruslan has me eating out of the palm of his hand. I’d do anything for him. Say anything. Be anything.
Imaginary Ruslan is every bit the cruel prick that real Ruslan is. He said he’d keep my orgasms to himself, but I feel like I stole this one from him. The euphoria of it rips through me in one endless lightning bolt after the next, until finally, what feels like an hour later, I come back to something like normal consciousness with drool on my lips and my fingers wet and sticky with my own desire.
The reality of what is happening clicks in my gut immediately, but it takes a few delayed moments before my head comes to terms with it.
For seven minutes and thirty-two seconds, I’ve been on a call with Ruslan Oryolov.
For seven minutes and thirty-two seconds, I’ve been masturbating to the absolute filthiest fantasy I’ve ever had, starring Ruslan Oryolov.
For seven minutes and thirty-two seconds, my phone has been recording every last moan and gasp and breath and twitch I made while I begged for his mercy and pleaded for him to make me come.
Did Ruslan hear the whole thing?
-
“It’s over. My life as I know it is over. R.I.P. to me.”
“I’m sorry, who is this?”
“Pheebs!”
She chuckles while I stare at my reflection in the mirror and try not to throw up. My phone is lying on the bathroom counter on speakerphone, mostly because my palms have been sweating since I saw the meeting invite in my calendar for today.
9:00 A.M. – 09:07:32 A.M.: Emma Carson 1-on-1 with Ruslan Oryolov.
“Sorry. Couldn’t resist. Anyway, rewind, take a deep breath, then tell me what’s going on in your big girl voice. Unburden yourself. Take all the time you need. Just make it quick because I have a 9 o’clock appointment.”
I’m bouncing on the balls of my feet now, the same way that Reagan does when she needs to pee really bad. “Yeah, so do I. With him.”
“Ah. Oh, wait—oh.”
I first called Phoebe last night right after realizing what I’d done. Her reaction was a dizzying mixture of pride and horror. I believe her exact words were, “Sure, it’s mortifying, but I’m glad you got your rocks off. Knew you had it in you.”
She’s a little more reassuring now that things are escalating out of control. “That doesn’t necessarily mean he heard the voicemail, Em. Maybe this is just a standard, no-big-deal, super-boring-business-stuff Thursday morning meeting.”
“It’s scheduled for seven minutes and thirty-two seconds. Precisely.”
“Hm.” There’s a beat of silence. “Doesn’t look good, does it?”
“Seriously? That’s all you’ve got for me? I’m gonna lose my job, Phoebe!”
“You don’t know that for sure. Just take a deep breath and go in there, see what he wants. Play it cool, y’know?”
“And what if what he wants is to kick my arse to the curb with a recommendation letter that claims I’m a dirty bimbo?”
“I mean, there’s probably a market for that.” I moan as Phoebe’s laughter fades into a serious tone. “Listen, boo: whatever happens, you’re a strong, smart, confident woman and you’re gonna land on your feet. And until you do, I’ve got your back.”
Her words mean everything to me, but I know that Phoebe doesn’t have much margin for error in her life, either. She struggles just as hard as I do. If she is able to help, it still wouldn’t put a dent in all the bills and loans looming over me.
“Thanks for the pep talk. I’ve gotta go to my doom now.”
“Keep your pecker up!”
I blink. “Huh?”
“Oklahoma talk. It means, like, ‘break a leg,’ but for Midwesterners.”
If I weren’t worried about losing my job and ending up homeless on the street with three kids, I’d laugh. Instead, I say one more miserable goodbye, then spend a solid three minutes dry-heaving into one of the empty bathroom stalls.
Once I’ve sufficiently bruised my stomach lining, I slink out of the bathroom and waste the remaining two minutes before the meeting standing outside of Ruslan’s door, watching the clock steal my life away one second at a time.
“You okay, Emma?” asks Katie Miller, another of the executive assistants on this floor, as she passes by.
“Dandy,” I mumble. “Just waiting for the noose.”
“What was that?”
“Nothing. I like your earrings. Have a good day.”
She raises her brow a smidge. I’m not usually so dismissive, but I can’t concentrate on small talk right now. Not when I’m T-minus thirty seconds away from the end of my career.
Dear God, I know I don’t pray to you often. Or, well, ever. But please help me out today and I’ll definitely consider starting on a more semi-regular basis.
Great. Now, I’m bargaining with God. New low, Emma. New low.
I take a deep breath and walk into his office. The shades are tight, snuffing out all the light of the Manhattan morning beyond. It’s like a bear cave in here—and the grizzly in question is sitting at his desk, scrolling through his phone. He doesn’t acknowledge me until I’m standing in front of his desk.
“Sit.”
The moment my rear end is parked, he puts his phone down and looks at me. Just looks at me.
In the eighteen months that I’ve worked for him, he’s never once given me the benefit of his full attention. Even during our morning meetings, he’s either on his phone, flipping through files, or typing away on his laptop. I used to be annoyed about it. I’m only now realizing I should have been grateful.
Should I say something?
Maybe he wants me to break the silence. Maybe I’m supposed to give him an explanation, an apology, something. But the more the silence stretches on, the less I’m capable of breaking it.
I decide once again that those amber eyes of his should be outlawed.
“I heard the voicemail,” he says at last.
I can’t place his tone. Amusement? Anger? Disbelief?
“Do you have anything to say, Ms. Carson?”
I launch into the apology I spent most of last night practicing in the mirror. “I can’t tell you how sorry I am, Mr. Oryolov. I have no idea what I was thinking. The whole thing was an accident; I didn’t realize I’d dialed you. I was so tired and out of it and… I can assure you that it will never happen again. I swear.”
My cheeks are flushed with embarrassment, but I try to keep my voice steady. I can’t sound too desperate, although that’s exactly what I am.
“Tell me, Ms. Carson: what would you do in my place?”
“I would give the plucky, hard-working assistant another chance, maybe?” It’s a long shot, but I figure, what the heck? I just wish I’d asked it without my voice rising to an Alvin and the Chipmunks pipsqueak at the end.
His mouth twitches with the promise of a smile, but it’s gone as quick as it came. “I know what you sound like when you climax, Emma. Is that the soundtrack you want running through all our interactions from now on?”
Flushing the brightest of reds, I shake my head. “If we could maybe just forget this whole thing—”
“The way I see it, there are only two options here.”
I hold my breath.
“One, I fire you.”
There it is. I knew it. I’m done for. I’m going to need to call the welfare office and see what—
“Or two… I give you exactly what you want.”
I almost choke on my own saliva. What little is left in my gaping mouth. “W-what?”
Silently, Ruslan offers me the blue folder lying in front of him. I pick it up with shaky hands and open the cover. It takes me a few long moments to figure out what on earth I’m looking at.
A… contract?
I read through the first page, feeling a strange sensation bubble up in my chest. Then, since I’m clearly misunderstanding something, I read through the first page again. And again. And again.
Only then do I look up. “Is this a joke?”
He doesn’t blink. “I never joke.”
“It’s just that, it seems like, from what I read, um—”
“I will offer you money and security in exchange for live encores of the little performance you sent me last night. In addition to meeting my other needs.”
“And by ‘needs,’ you mean…intercourse?”
He tilts his chin down and regards me solemnly. “How explicit would you like me to be, Ms. Carson?”
What.
“So this—” I raise the blue folder in my hand. “—is a sugar daddy contract?”
His brow furrows. “I’d prefer to call it a ‘Friend With Benefits’ contract.”
“But we’re not friends.”
He smirks. “Fair enough. No, we’re not.”
There’s a throbbing in my head that reminds me of the first time I got drunk. Sienna and I had snuck into Dad’s study the eve of my sixteenth birthday and stolen a 1984 Chateau Latour. We passed it back and forth, taking turns sipping from the bottle like it was cheap bagged drink until the whole thing was gone.
For a moment, I think about what Sienna would say if she were here. Would she be outraged or intrigued? Would she slap the smug prick and storm out?
Or would she grin and say, Double the price and I’m in.
What would you do, Si?
And then it hits me, a bolt of lightning straight to the chest, almost like she’s speaking to me herself. I miss her so much, it hurts. But she left little bits of herself behind, in all three of her children. The same kids I’m working off to protect.
That right there is the answer.
Sienna would have done whatever was best for her children.
So I don’t slap him. I don’t storm out. I sit there and stare at my arrogant, prick boss who always gets exactly what he wants.
And what he wants… is me.
I meet Ruslan’s steely gaze. “What happens if I say no?” | LEARN_MORE | https://a.funstorys.com/ad/RnVuU3RvcnkvMTU4NTA5LzI | 142292175627960 | Fun003 | https://facebook.com/61551606164621 | 63 | 1 | 453,256,560,488,722 | 2024-04-22 02:00 | person_profile | eligible | 0 | 0 | NONE | 0 | 0 | 1 | 0 | Learn more | 0 | Fun003 | 120209032907400696 | a.funstorys.com | NONE | video | https://a.funstorys.com/ad/RnVuU3RvcnkvMTU4NTA5LzIwMjQwNDIyMjAwMjE2L3BhZ2U=?adid={{ad.id}} | 2024-04-22 07:05 | https://scontent-ord5-2.xx.fbcdn.net/v/t39.35426-6/438796637_806737094123836_7303699296615028049_n.jpg?stp=dst-jpg_s60x60&_nc_cat=107&ccb=1-7&_nc_sid=c53f8f&_nc_ohc=l8OQ6miJZ-8Ab7-MK4b&_nc_ht=scontent-ord5-2.xx&oh=00_AfC5L-rPl6PdXhLcsBW-JHILSLj0KfkTeB72gzSpjeKb6w&oe=662D0E6F | person_profile | 0 | Fun003 | https://scontent-ord5-2.xx.fbcdn.net/v/t39.35426-6/438681669_657971639804044_55803707205372899_n.jpg?_nc_cat=107&ccb=1-7&_nc_sid=c53f8f&_nc_ohc=tdHQHLsOd_EAb6mDykr&_nc_ht=scontent-ord5-2.xx&oh=00_AfDCAnFnX3Ae3WP2DS6BcI-RqQkNMUZt9yXYBu9m8LXMEA&oe=662D1555 | 0 | 3 | Fun003 | 0 | 0 | 2024-04-22 02:00 | View Edit Delete | |||||||||||||||||||||

"You will do as I ask. She is a healer. It is her job to heal. Marissa is only tired. She can rest after this." I close my eyes, praying to the Goddess to save me just this once. | LEARN_MORE | https://b.ereaderlab.com/ad/ZVJlYWRlci8xNTc2OTAvMj | 191841157345630 | Red112 | https://facebook.com/61554857037374 | 20 | 1 | 782,113,953,867,539 | 2024-04-22 02:00 | person_profile | eligible | 0 | 0 | NONE | 0 | 0 | 1 | 0 | Learn more | 0 | Red112 | 120208162015650407 | b.ereaderlab.com | NONE | video | https://b.ereaderlab.com/ad/ZVJlYWRlci8xNTc2OTAvMjAyNDA0MjIxMDI1MjMvcGFnZQ==?adid={{ad.id}} | 2024-04-21 21:31 | https://scontent-ord5-2.xx.fbcdn.net/v/t39.35426-6/438118644_960468775316421_1572155026159446864_n.jpg?stp=dst-jpg_s60x60&_nc_cat=103&ccb=1-7&_nc_sid=c53f8f&_nc_ohc=HFfjDVTr6bwAb4TcGqf&_nc_ht=scontent-ord5-2.xx&oh=00_AfDgkyySK562p5lj_56WJp9mDTv--izLGXZS3R4ePsh7bg&oe=662CF8F7 | person_profile | 0 | Red112 | https://scontent-ord5-1.xx.fbcdn.net/v/t39.35426-6/438164770_736598601889256_8862146731551340678_n.jpg?_nc_cat=111&ccb=1-7&_nc_sid=c53f8f&_nc_ohc=1OA4TEGwry0Ab4bwIlP&_nc_ht=scontent-ord5-1.xx&oh=00_AfDrBq_jHLk7yV72R_6VKxbJ42zINySOKo2Esh3BTYaziA&oe=662D21D1 | 0 | 3 | Red112 | 0 | 0 | 2024-04-22 02:00 | View Edit Delete | |||||||||||||||||||||

But you didn't. You let me....” I couldn’t finish the sentence.
He knew what he’d allowed to happen. He’d been there. It was my first shift and the first time I’d felt the pull of my mate. The same pull I was feeling for the man sitting across the narrow bar, “you need to leave,” I said finally getting the strength to repeat the words he’d said to me all those years ago, “I don’t want you here.”
————————
Aster
May 10 Years Ago
I was in my car trying not to catch a glimpse of my newly blackened eye. It seemed that even though I was a soon to be exiled human dud, Kendrick’s flunkies still weren’t afraid to show me who was boss. It stung and was starting to swell. I looked down at the clock. I had forty minutes to get 60 miles. I’d never make it.
I was so angry. I hated them all. As if life hadn’t been hard enough having been raised in the pack. I had spent every day of my life for years preparing to become a wolf, to find a mate, and raise a litter of pups, and I wouldn’t get any of it. The people I’d been raised with, my friends, my pack, tortured me for it. I waited for my wolf so I could join them and end my misery. I was patient. I sat outside on the forest border every night for years willing the wolf to come out of me.
“Flowers bloom all year round, Aster dear,” my mom would say as she wiped my tears after each new wolf made its way into the world, “You’re a September flower. Your wolf will come.”
But she never came. I watched all my friends go through the change and pair up under my nose. One day, they’d be normal, the next they’d be glued at the hip to another wolf, having become one of them. I prayed to the moon goddess for years to show me my wolf. I wanted to be a part of the pack. I wanted to be a real member of my family. I wanted friends. By age 17, they’d all changed, but not me. I’d held out hope that maybe a younger wolf would recognize me as his mate, at least then I could stay. But none had claimed me.
The anger grew painful in my gut. I pressed my foot down on the gas, better to risk a speeding ticket than a brutal whipping for my mother. My car was nearing its limit when the pain in my gut grew worse.
I could hardly breathe, I couldn’t think. I heard popping and my hips burned with a fire I’d never felt before. My arms hurt like they were being pricked by thousands of tiny pins. I looked down at them, they’d started sprouting fur. I had to pull over. I was so close to the border. One mile, maybe two but I couldn’t concentrate. Black fur was burning its way through my body and I could feel each follicle widen to accept it.
I was changing
I opened the car door and quickly took off the cap and gown. The popping in my back prevented me from saving my sundress and shoes. I collapsed on the side of the road. It hurt so bad. I crawled into the ditch, if a human saw me changing it would be the end of their lives, and mine.
I wasn’t a dud.
The joy of not being a failure temporarily blocked out the pain as every bone in my body broke and reshaped. My knees popped backward as my femur shortened. My nose and jaws elongated. I closed my eyes as a girl and reopened them as a wolf.
I heard howls miles in the distance. The pack was running to celebrate the commencement. I longed to run with them. Then I felt it.
The unmistakable pull.
I’d heard it described every Sunday at shifter school. It encompassed every part of my being. I needed to go to it. To him, to my mate. Wherever he was I needed to be. He was in the woods away from my car. I raced, unsteady on my four paws at first but quickly finding my pace. I was a wolf. I was running as a wolf. I raced pulled by the invisible leash leading me to my mate. The one the moon goddess had made just for me. I knew he’d love me. He wouldn’t care I was almost a dud; he’d just want me.
I heard another howl, this one closer, mournful, mine. I howled back, joining his song, the song of my mate. His howl abruptly cut off. He was on the move. The leash rapidly changed directions pulling me a new direction. I needed to follow it, I had to find him. I raced through the trees not caring about anything but finding the wolf who had half my soul. I caught a glimpse of a black fluffy tail. Nearly there, he was leading me home, that had to be it, he couldn’t be running from me. He needed me as much as I needed him.
I raced faster and harder trying to catch up to him, but he was so much faster. The tether urged me on. I was panting trying to keep up. I was racing leaping over fallen trees and ducking under low branches. My wolf was thrilled with the chase. We leapt over another tree and my paw found an awkward footing. I heard a metallic click-
Snap
Sharp pain radiates up my right front paw. A pained whine escapes my throat. I was caught in a bear trap. Its terrifying jaws dig into my thin leg like a dinosaur’s maw. I loose a desperate howl begging for my mate to come back and find me. To help me out of this trap. I knew I couldn’t shift out if it, I’d lose my paw for sure. I needed help. I whined and howled again.
I heard the snap of a twig and looked in the direction. A big black wolf with golden eyes was watching me. I whined and whimpered. It was him, my mate. He’d come back for me. I motioned to my leg and the trap and barked hoping he’d see it and understand. He could release me, take me back to the pack doctors and save my leg.
The wolf’s fur rippled, and the painful sound of popping bones echoed in the silent summer forest. Several agonizing seconds later Kendrick Biel stood in front of me. He shifted so fast, so easily compared to my shift. The pain of the shift was nothing compared to what I was experiencing now.
I whimpered, pleading with this man to save me. He strode over and my heart leapt. He was going to save me. He touched my head and my wolf leaned into his caress. He pet back my ears and shushed me soothingly.
“You need to leave,” he said finally, he continued to lovingly stroke my fur, “I don’t want you here.”
He stood up and shifted again. His wolf wouldn’t touch mine as it walked away. I whined again begging him to come back to at least release me. I tried to shift but the pain in my leg was too much. He got several yards away and I heard the sounds of his low growl. His wolf sat near a tree and watched me.
Instincts kicked in. If my moon blessed mate wasn’t going to free me from the trap, I’d die in it. The trappers would come back, find their prize, and my fur would be mounted on their walls. No one would ever know what happened to Aster Fields. My mother would assume I never wanted to talk to her again. Easterville would assume I just never showed up. No one would know I died. Except Kendrick, who no doubt would never admit I was his mate.
I couldn’t die here. I couldn’t give the bastards the satisfaction. I stared into his golden eyes and chewed. My first shift on four legs would be my last one. There was no coming back from this. A part of me hoped as I tore through the fur and flesh, that this was a test. That he needed me to prove that his mate was tough enough to be an alpha female. That she had the guts to do what needed to be done to survive. I looked back at him when I’d exposed bone. He was still watching me. He was going to make me do this. I whimpered. It hurt so bad. I didn’t want to do this.
I gave him one last look. I vowed; this would be the last chance he ever had to be my mate. He’d either save me from the trap now, or never see me again. Kendrick’s wolf continued to stare at me, silent, motionless, impassive. I looked down at the raw flesh and exposed bone. This was it. I bit down as hard as I could, hearing the sickening crunch as the bones broke. I was free. My paw was not. I looked up and Kendrick’s wolf was gone.
The exposed bones were splintered and sickening to look at. There was nothing I could do about that. I was bleeding heavily. Instincts told me to lick the wound. The copper taste of blood did not soothe my wolf. I whined when I caught sight of what remained of my paw still in the trap. Black fur, pink muscles, pale white bones. Revulsion riled in me. I wanted to vomit. I couldn’t believe what I had done. I continued to lick my wounds. There was no going back, I did what I had to do to survive.
I heard howls of more wolves. Maybe Kendrick had gone to get them to hunt me down. Maybe his plan all along was for me to die. I needed to get back to my car, I needed to keep moving. I sniffed the ground until I picked up a scent I recognized as my strawberry shampoo. I followed it. The grace I had lacked when I first shifted was back tenfold. I’d lope several steps and forget I’d lost a paw and I’d crash to the ground landing hard on the already splintered bones. I’d yelp and try to bite back my pained cries. I couldn’t let them find me.
I found the tree line before the ditch where my torn sundress laid. I made it. I willed my body to shift. Sunday shifter school had made it sound easy. Just picture yourself as a human and human you’d become. It wasn’t easy. I had to imagine forcing my toes through my claws and reshaping my body back together. It felt like it took hours before my body was human again. The moon was high overhead and I was exhausted. But I needed to keep going. I needed to get out of here, away from pack land. Away from him. I was undressed. I was bloody, and my arm was still bleeding where a hand had once been.
I wrapped the stump in the torn dress. It was a painful process. Every nerve ending felt exposed. Every brush of the fabric rioted protestations through to my core. I pulled the commencement robe over my body, grateful that I’d been given one three sizes too large. I sat in the driver’s seat of my car and tried to force myself to go.
I still felt the tug. That pull toward Kendrick. I wanted to race back to town, tell the pack I’d changed, and he was mine. But I couldn’t let that happen. They could never know what I was. Who I was. I leaned over painfully to turn the key in the ignition, it roared to life. I had to stay leaned to get steering column to switch gears and get the car into drive. I’d never been more grateful to have an automatic with a steering wheel gear shift. I didn’t know how I’d have managed if I’d had to try to shift from the center.
I put the car in drive and let my foot off the gas. I had to focus. I had to get out of here. Away from the pack. I needed to get to Easterville. Only a thousand miles to go before I could sleep.
---
Lee
December Present day
“And you have to charge it?” my mother was fascinated with my bionic hand. She asked me to show her all the articulating movements to prove that I was truly able to function.
“How did you afford this?” she asked still mesmerized by the technology.
Evan laughed, “One of our regulars, Louie, got together with a couple other regulars, who got together with the town council, and they hosted a huge carnival fundraiser called ‘Bionic Barmaid’ and raised enough money for a fancy new arm, as well as a small repair fund.”
I was still incredibly humbled by the generosity of the town, “That Louie,” was all I could manage to say.
“Wow,” my mother agreed, “That is... wow,” after a few minutes of us silently eating she finally asked the question she wanted to ask, “How did you... how did...”
Evan raised his eyebrow at me, “She doesn’t know?” I shrugged.
A growl rose low in Evan’s throat, “Evan, you’re scaring her,” I hissed.
“Lee’s wolf chewed it off after it got caught in a trap,” Evan growled. My mother's eyes widened, and she looked at me with a renewed interest.
“That can’t be,” she muttered, lost in thought. “Oh, it can be and if that jerk ever sho-”
“Evan!” I shouted, “Not now.” Evan had no idea what a riled grizzly could do to a submissive wolf even if they both remained in human form.
Evan stood abruptly from his chair, “I need to run the credit cards receipts from last night.”
After Evan disappeared into the back office my mother leaned over the table, “Who’s Lee?”
“I’m Lee, mom,” I told her, “I go by my middle name here. I didn’t want to be Aster the dud anymore.”
“You have a wolf, Aster...Lee?” she asked quickly correcting names.
I nodded, ashamed.
“When? How long?” she asked her eyes filled with joyous wonder, “You should come back with me. There’s always a spot in the pack. Alpha Biel is such a-”
I shook my head quickly, “I can’t come back with you. I can’t ever go back, I was exiled, remember?”
“That was before your wolf,” she said with a warm smile, “You’re pack. Surely your wolf wants a pack.”
She did. She wanted a pack more than she wanted to breathe, I shook my head, “We can’t go back.”
“What happened, Aster?” “I can’t tell you.”
“Can you at least tell me how long?”
“Since graduation,” I said hanging my head low. “No,” she breathed, “It can’t be.”
I sagged in my chair, “You can’t tell anyone-”
“You’re the wolf from the trap,” she whispered, “Kendrick’s mate.” | LEARN_MORE | https://a.menovels.com/ad/ZmljZnVuLzE1ODQ4Ni8yMDI0 | 181066715093574 | MeNo001 | https://facebook.com/61554251835273 | 87 | 1 | 289,976,594,156,512 | 2024-04-22 02:00 | person_profile | eligible | 0 | 0 | NONE | 0 | 0 | 1 | 0 | Learn more | 0 | MeNo001 | 120208247941070142 | a.menovels.com | NONE | video | https://a.menovels.com/ad/ZmljZnVuLzE1ODQ4Ni8yMDI0MDQyMjIwMDEwNy9wYWdl?adid={{ad.id}} | 2024-04-22 07:03 | https://scontent-atl3-1.xx.fbcdn.net/v/t39.35426-6/438696325_1752800005203000_7630157557009052654_n.jpg?stp=dst-jpg_s60x60&_nc_cat=106&ccb=1-7&_nc_sid=c53f8f&_nc_ohc=ZB9KpQeHEiwAb5MS__I&_nc_ht=scontent-atl3-1.xx&oh=00_AfCktA0OOX1jfPdnSmhCdX2td6MVWXCwMwab3a2BvaGiEQ&oe=662D01DF | person_profile | 0 | MeNo001 | https://scontent-atl3-2.xx.fbcdn.net/v/t39.35426-6/438721024_235530202982319_4479693049641315383_n.jpg?_nc_cat=105&ccb=1-7&_nc_sid=c53f8f&_nc_ohc=1EJa4wsIj7YAb6VyxuS&_nc_ht=scontent-atl3-2.xx&oh=00_AfCg1bDxX9XYFUt8jUBFxmHT9CDjAcXKakKd-VqyjTW9hA&oe=662D1FA0 | 0 | 3 | MeNo001 | 0 | 0 | 2024-04-22 02:00 | View Edit Delete | |||||||||||||||||||||
