Please don't send me away," I cry. <br /> Anita comes over with a cloak and masking spray him her hand. I realized that she also is wearing a cloak with a bag on her side. Oh my goddess! This is actually happening.<br /> "We need you to go with Anita, little star. She will protect you and also be our contact to you until you get your wolf," My father hugs me and so does mom in a family group hug. <br /> "Dad just linked me and said that a few slipped past him. We have to act fast!" Ollie says from the window. He walks to the wall on the other side of the room and opens a secret door.<br /> "Come with me princess. We have to go now!" Anita starts to pull me to the hidden door as mom puts my cloak on me and sprays the masking spray. She then gives me a leather book as we get close to the passage. <br /> "I love you both. I will be back and take revenge on the person doing this. I will become big and strong for you!" I tell my parents as I'm pulled into the passageway. <br /> "We love you too little star. Stay safe and don't give Anita any trouble. Remember you are our greatest treasure," My dad says as the door shuts leaving Anita and me in the dark. Anita pulls out a flashlight and we start to run down the passageway. <br /> We walk for about 30 minutes until we come to a door. Anita opens the door and we step out to afield that has a car parked in a tent that blends in. As we jump in the car Anita throws the bag in the back before getting in the driver seat.<br /> "Where are we going Anita?" I ask as she speeds down a dirt road. <br /> "We are going to a friend of mine that is an alpha. He already knows to expect us. We will be safe there under his protection," Anita tells me as she turns onto a paved road. As we get further and further away from my parents I feel a sense of loss and sadness. Why me? I'm nothing special other than the next in line for the throne. Only people in the kingdom knew of me but never actually had seen me. Then it hit me. They didn't want to kidnap me to get money or anything else. They wanted me dead. I'm only 6! <br /> Anita pulls out her phone and dials a number. The ringing comes out of the car speakers. My heart started to beat loudly as we waited for the other end to be picked up. After the fourth ring a deep sleepy voice answered.<br /> "Hello Anita! What is the matter?" The voice said sounding half asleep.<br /> "Fredrick! It happened tonight. We escaped with no issue but we still have the 8 hour drive to you that we have to conquer first," Anita said. She was looking straight ahead and was frequently looking behind us.<br /> "WHAT? Are you both okay? Do I need to send my warriors to meet you half way?" Now Alpha Fredrick sound wide awake. <br /> "If you would like to I'm not stopping you. Just make sure they follow at a distance so if anyone is following us, it doesn't look suspicious," Anita turns us onto a highway by the looks of it.<br /> "Will do. Are you in the car we planned on you using?" The alpha asked.<br /> "Yes we are," Anita says." Just as planned. We are also taking the secondary route because there seems to be a traitor in the castle. The only ones that know of this route are you, me, and Maverick. We are actually picking him upon the way."<br /> "Okay Anita. My guys just left and they are in a black Denali. They will flash their lights twice like the humans do to warn of a cop. I already have a house set up for you all. Be careful and I'll greet you when you get here," Alpha Fredrick says. The call drops and it's silent in the car once more. Maverick is Anita's mate and is a warrior in the Royal Army. <br /> "Anita, will I see my parents again?" I whispered scared to know her answer. Please say yes, please say yes. <br /> "Yes, your highness, you will get to see them again. However you won't get to until you are 18.Then you will be able to meet your mate and go back. If you don't meet him, we will still be able to go back but it will have to be under the impression you are a distant relative wanting to join the Royal Army. But don't worry my dear. I will be with you every step of the way," Anita says glancing over at me. 12 years is what I have to wait to get to see my parents again. This will be a long 12years.<br /> We drive for about 3 hours then stop for gas. As Anita fills the car up, I see Maverick walk out from the store. I quickly jump in the back so that the adults have the front. He walks to Anita and gives her a hug that you can tell just by seeing it he was happy she was okay. They get in the car and Maverick starts driving the rest of the way. <br /> "Princess, I want to tell you how we have to be at Fredricks pack. His pack is called Silver moon and he is the only one who knows who you are. The story we will go by is that you are our niece that came to live with us as a baby when your parents died in a rouge attack. The reason for us moving to Silver moon is our pack was attacked and we are the only survivors because we were on vacation. Absolutely no one is to know who you really are. Okay princess?" Maverick says from the front. <br /> "Yes Maverick, I mean Uncle Maverick, I understand." I lean back as I quietly go over it in my head. <br /> An hour later we see the Denali that Alpha Fredrick sent and it gets behind us about 200 yards back. I decide to try to get some sleep until we get there. It doesn't take long for me to fall asleep. <br /> Next thing I know, I am being shook awake by Anita. "Princess, we just passed the border of Silver Moon and will arrive in 10 minutes."<br /> I sit up and rub my eyes. We arrive in front of the pack house and I see a man standing in the door. He looks tall with brown hair and blue eyes. <br /> "Welcome to Silver Moon. We are glad to have you here," the man says. He gives me a slight bow when he looks at me. This must be Fredrick.<br /> "Long time no see Fredrick. It's good to see you under the unfortunate circumstances," Anita says.<br /> Not long after we are shown our house. It is a single story home with 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. It's cute and reminds me of all the stories of the white picket fence dream that most girls have.<br /> As I settle in my room, I think about my parents. Are they safe? I wish I could be back in their arms but I know I can't just yet. This is going to be a long 12 years.<br /> ——————————<br /> Mal POV<br /> -12years later<br /> Let me formally introduce myself. My name is Malisa but everyone calls me Mal. All the kids love it because of the Disney movie "Descendants". It also doesn't help I love purple and got purple highlights. I wear purple all the time not only because I love it but also for the pups. Today is my 18th birthday and I get to see if I can find my mate. It also means that I can go home now to my parents. Will they be proud of me?<br /> "Don't worry Mal. Even if we don't find our prince, we still can go home to mom and dad," Gwenivere says to me. Gwen is my wolf and I got her on my 10thbirthday. Alpha Fredrick let us go to the bunkers behind the packhouse for my shift. We did this because we didn't want anyone knowing who I actually am by seeing my wolf. She is pure white with bright yellow eyes. My eyes would be a dead giveaway due to only the royal family has yellow eyes. Everyone in the pack just thinks I'm wolf-less. With that comes being shunned and bullied. I mainly get shoved around and called names. Before I was 16 I was great friends other the alpha and beta kids. After I "didn't" shift, they turned on me. Oh how I wish they could know the truth.<br /> "You know we can't do that Mal. I wish so to so we can shut them up but we can't," Gwen tells me.<br /> "I know Gwen. It's just a wish," I say to her.<br /> "A very good wish. However, they will see soon enough that what they did was wrong and will be begging you for forgiveness," Gwen says. Good point. <br /> I roll myself out of bed and get ready for the day. I decide to wear a black tank top with a purple leather jacket over it. My pants are black leather pants paired with purple combat boots. I straighten my hair and apply a little makeup. Unlike most of the girls in the pack, I don't like a lot of makeup. The cake face is not for me. Aunt Anita says I have the "bad" look. <br /> "Sweetheart! Are you up?" Aunt Anita calls from down the hall. I walk out of my room to see her with her hands behind her back. Uh oh! What does she have?<br /> "Yes as you can see Aunt Anita. What is behind your back?" I ask with caution. We normally pull pranks on each other and sometimes it ends with one of us wearing food of some kind. One time I walked out the bathroom after a shower just to have flour dumped on me from a bucket above the door. I had to shower a second time and so did Maverick after I tackled him. <br /> "Just your birthday present," Aunt Anita says with a mischievous smile. Hmmm.. should I trust this or run? If it is a prank, I am already coming up with ideas for revenge. Hot pink dye in her shampoo since she has blonde hair and hates pink, squirrel in her room, or itching powder in her undies. That last one I could get Maverick also. <br /> Saint Anita pulls an envelope from behind her back and hands it to me. I slowly take it and cautiously open it hoping there isn't a spider in it. Last time that happened I ended up on a chandelier pulling a Sia. Thankfully there is only a piece of paper in it. Thank the goddess! When I unfold the paper, my eyes go wide. <br /> "No freaking way! You got me a travel size recording set up?" I ask loudly. I have always loved music. My songbook stays with me at all times. Another reason is that my mother gave it to me the day we had to flee the palace. I have a connection to music and feel all the emotions behind the notes.<br /> "Yes we did. It's Fredrick, Maverick, and my gift to you sweetheart. We knew you have been wanting one and have been saving up for it," aunt Anita says as she hugs me. <br /> "We can try the new song we are working on with it. I can't wait," Gwen says in my head. <br /> "You and me both sister!" After I say this I feel her move to the back of my mind to rest. She also does this to prevent herself from being detected by the other wolves. <br /> "Wait! Where's Uncle Maverick?" It was only now I realized he wasn't even on the house. He became a warrior to Silent Moon and does a border shift but that is in the afternoon. <br /> "He had to go to the packhouse to meet with Alpha Fredrick. Apparently a rogue got through last night near the pack house. They are interrogating him right now," she tells me. When she looks at my facial expression she immediately says "He wasn't here for you. Apparently he was trying to steal some food for his family." Whew!<br /> "Thank you so much for the amazing birthday present. I have to go meet up with Hannah and get to school. I love you," I say as I hug her. She has always been a second mother to me even before that fateful night. As long as I can remember I have loved her like she was family.<br /> I walk out of the house and head down the street. My best friend Hannah lives four houses down and is one of the only members of the pack that doesn't treat me like I'm lower than an omega. There is nothing wrong with omegas. I get along with all of them and they are nice. Other than them, Hannah and Bryce are the only friends I have. That's fine though because the number of friends isn't important. It's who is there for you and you can count on. <br /> As I near her house I hear the sound of a vehicle and shouting coming up from behind me. The voice alone tells me it's the jocks and among them is Peter. Peter is Alpha Fredricks' son and next in line for the title. He is about 6'4" and has his moms dirty blonde hair paired with green eyes. Luna Brittany is one of the sweetest people I know. When I heard "freak show" be shouted out I knew it was him. Hopefully today he won't do anything to bad. The truck speeds past me with more names being shouted out. I can't wait to leave this place.<br /> "Hey Mal! Was that the man-bimbo mobile?" Hannah asks as she walks off her front porch. <br /> "What gave it away?" I ask giggling.<br /> "The smell of skank in the air," she says. We look at each other and bust out laughing. It's a mixture of honeysuckle and rain. <br /> "That's our mate! Go find mate!" Gwen shouts as she is jumping around in excitement. <br /> I follow the scent and it leads me to the jocks. Oh great! Here we go. They turn when they hear me approaching but only one pair of eyes catch mine. Peter Rollins can't be my mate. He is my main tormentor. <br /> Gwen takes over and says "mate". I see everyone's shocked expression at what I said excluding Peter. Allison is hanging off his arm and glaring at me. Her and Peter have been dating for about a year now and helps him make my life terrible.<br /> "Follow me. We need to talk," Peter says and turns around heading to the trees. <br /> "But baby! You don't have to talk to the wolf-less giglet," Allison says in her nasally voice. Peter just looks at her and whispered something to her. Whatever it was made her smile.<br /> As I follow Peter to the trees, I think about what is going to happen. The moon goddess came to me in a dream not to long ago and told me that if my mate rejects me, all I have to say is "okay. I accept." With me going by Benson as my last name she told me she made it be acceptable to real the bond. The moon goddess doesn't just let anyone be mates to a royal. <br /> "Remember Mal. I'm with you every step of the way," Gwen reassures me. I'm glad I have her as my wolf. <br /> We get about 30 feet into the tires when Peter stops and turns towards me. The look on his face is anything but friendly.<br /> Peter looks at me with hate instead of affection. Not a big surprise there.
