Marrying my best friend Pierce was a dream come true. Now we were expecting our first child! I couldn't wait to share the exciting news.

I snapped the phone as just one word came out. My body started shaking uncontrollably. No! It couldn't be her! It couldn't be Lexi! She was already out of our life! I must have misheard.

"I have something to tell you." He said.
I felt my heart race.
"W-What is it?" I asked, my voice trembling.
He took a deep sigh. "You know you're important to me, right?"
I slowly nodded with parted lips. I couldn't answer. I'm scared of what he's about to say. I have a bad feeling about this.
"You were my best friend before we got married. You are one of the few people I treasure..."
I hid my balled fists, blinking back tears. Why was he saying all this?
"Kelly..." he paused. "I-I think it's time for us to divorce."
"P-Pierce..." I felt my heart clench.
He smiled. "I know you don't have feelings for me either. You just married me because of my grandparents. Now it's time for our real happiness, Kelly."
"W-What are you talking about, Pierce?"
"Lexi is back, Kelly. My first love is back."
