Join us for the opening reception of our member show “In the Path of Shade”, a celestial celebration that captures the awe-inspiring essence of a solar eclipse. The show runs from March 1st through April 28th.<br /> <br /> Brandon Town Hall from 7-9 pm: “Friday Night at the Movies” will be showing a classic where dead people come to life and wander around eating brains (copyright prohibits the title from being published!)<br /> <br /> SATURDAY APRIL 6:<br /> Brandon Museum (4 Grove St) open from 10 am-4 pm [also open on Sunday]: “The 1932 Eclipse” Stop in and learn about what happened when the skies went dark on August 31,1932 and other Brandon facts and pick up a free pair of viewing glasses. Free planetary popcorn and beverages will be provided throughout the day.<br /> <br /> Brandon Public Library (1 Conant Sq) from 10:30-11:30 am: “Solar Eclipse Storytime” <br /> <br /> Brandon Museum (4 Grove St) at 11 am: “Observing Celestial Phenomenon”- Join local historian John Peterson as he explores how people have responded to heavenly spectacles through the ages<br /> <br /> Brandon Inn from 5:30-6:30 pm: “Moonlight in Vermont” - American tenor, Joshua Collier, accompanied by Piano and Bass, will be performing some of his favorites from The Great American Songbook, a canon of American popular songs and enduring jazz standards written mainly during the first half of the 20th century. Grab some friends, classmates, sport teammates, family members, dress up like a Zombie! Gather at the top of Park Street and walk / stagger / moan your way to the lot in front of the Brandon Inn to participate in Flash Mob dance of Thriller. There will be prizes, so be creative.<br /> <br /> “Post apocalypse!” Immediately following the Zombie walk, shuffle into Central Park to enjoy vendors, music, and food! BBQ and food trucks, vendors, a bounce house, and a 12 ft skeleton.<br /> <br /> Brandon Inn at 2 pm: “Native American Eclipse Beliefs” Abnaki Peggy White Buffalo Moon Rozell will be dressed in full regalia to tell us about traditions of local Native American tribes celebrating and honoring celestial occurrences.<br /> <br /> Conant Square Gallery from 2:45- 3:30 pm: “Neshobe Art Show”, An exhibit of Neshobe School students work focused on the essence of a Solar Eclipse. <br /> <br /> Brandon Town Hall from 7-9 pm: “Maiden Vermont" & "Middlebury College Community Chorus” – two talented choruses from Central Vermont will be regaling you with an evening of music. Maiden Vermont is Vermont’s own woman’s barbershop chorus that performs an eclectic variety of a cappella choral music that far exceeds one genre! These women masterfully perform not only barbershop harmonies, but Broadway showtunes, pop music, bebop, doo-wop, swing, blues, and anything in between. Programs include choreography with many tunes and are performed entirely from memory. Middlebury College Community Chorus is students, alumni, staff, faculty, and community members joining together to sing a broad repertoire spanning historical and contemporary genres, as well as newly composed choral music.<br /> <br /> MONDAY, APRIL 8 – ECLIPSE DAY<br /> Estabrook Park, 760 Grove St from 2-4 pm: “Eclipse Viewing Fun”, Open to all, with plenty of parking and restrooms.
