One year ago. For me it hasn’t even been a year, as I learned of it in July 2023. <br /> Three courageous women and countless survivors came forward and continue to come forward. <br /> While the CSA is what blew the lid off, it’s the extremist fundamentalist indoctrination that underlies the culture in which the abuse thrives and is fostered. <br /> Indoctrination in extreme fundamentalism is an insidious form of grooming that victimizes all within the system. <br /> It sets people, especially women and children, up for a lifetime as targets and creates helplessness, robbing them of agency and choice. <br /> It creates a community of enablers who look the other way and are complicit in harm of their fellows, their children, daughters, wives, and sons. <br /> It also creates and grooms people, especially males, into entitled predators who abuse with impunity.<br /> All in God’s name. <br /> Everyone is a victim.
