| Body | The real riches of life... would you like to have them?As human beings we yearn for blessings. For many people, blessings mean having all the riches, honour and wealth. Remember many have these but are not happy content or satisfied. We read in <br /> Proverbs 10:22 The blessing of the Lord makes one rich, And He adds no sorrow with it.<br /> When God blesses a person, he makes that person to be a blessing for many. Riches doesn't only mean gold, diamonds, property, land, bank balance but riches mean… being rich in kindness, mercy, knowledge and word of God, wisdom, understanding, generosity… being rich in peace, happiness, joy because only when you have in excess you can give them. <br /> We read in <br /> Jeremiah 17:7-8<br /> 7 “Blessed is the man who trusts in the Lord,<br /> whose trust is the Lord.<br /> 8 He is like a tree planted by water,<br /> that sends out its roots by the stream,<br /> and does not fear when heat comes,<br /> for its leaves remain green,<br /> and is not anxious in the year of drought,<br /> for it does not cease to bear fruit.”<br /> Here we learn that the one who trusts in God is blessed. It doesn't say, a blessed man will not have any sorrow or problems. <br /> It says that that person will be like a tree planted by water that sends out its root by the stream…<br /> Yes when we trust in God rather than having our trust in other men, our wealth, skill, power then we will have a close relationship with God which will strengthen us, just like a tree is strengthened by the water it receives. When the roots die, they the whole tree will die but when the roots get nourished then the tree remains fruitful and useful. That's how we will be when our Lord Jesus is with us and when we trust him 100%. <br /> The verse says, it does not fear when heat comes…<br /> Yes when problems comes we will not fear because we will know that God will never leave nor forsake us and that he is under control. <br /> For its leaves remain green.. green colour is associated with prosperity. We will be happy and cheerful because the joy of the Lord will be our strength.<br /> .. and it is not anxious in the year of drought. <br /> A drought could be a job loss, a failure, a loss, it could be some thing that we think that is necessary but we may not have it at the moment. During such situations we won't be anxious. What is considered to be normal to be anxious about in this world is not the case when we trust in God because our God knows what we want. He will test us whether we trust in him whether we wait for him and seek his counsel or do we go in search of people, their power and strength. It is not wrong to go to people but when we trust them more than God and when we don't seek his counsel then we will fall into the wrong hands. When we trust in Him, our Lord Jesus will make us meet the right people at the right time in the right place. <br /> … it does not cease to bear fruit. Yes our situation won't stop us from doing good deeds, it won't stop us from believing in God and going astray from faith but we will win souls for him and be helpful and fruitful to many.<br /> Remember, when God blesses He will bless your generation through you, he may bless your workplace through you, your city will be blessed through you, your nation and even the world will be blessed through you. You will change lives for good, you will heal the broken hearted, you will set the captives free, through the name of Jesus you will release people from captivity. <br /> That is what real blessings mean. Riches, honour and wealth are like add ons for free. |
