Milledgeville Main Street is proud to announce its upcoming First Friday presented by Five Star Automotive Group in March, themed
"I heART Milly," in collaboration with Allied Arts. The event, organized by the Main Street Junior Board, promises an evening filled with community engagement and creative expression.

Scheduled for Friday, March 1st from 6 to8PM, "I heART Milly" aims to celebrate the vibrant spirit of our community through various interactive stations designed to foster connection and artistic expression.

Among the highlights of the event are:

Love Lock Gate: FREE locks for the first 100 groups to “Lock their Love in Milly.” The Love Lock Gate isn't just for romantic partners; it's open to all groups, including families, best friends, teams, clubs, businesses, sororities, classes, and any other community organizations that want to symbolize their love and commitment to Milledgeville. Participants are encouraged to bring their own padlocks and attach them to the gate, representing their collective bond with the city and its community. It's a unique opportunity for groups of all kinds to leave a lasting mark on Milledgeville and showcase their affection for the city they call home. Be sure to sign your lock before you secure it! This Love Lock Gage will be a permanent art piece that will hopefully be here for years to come and will be donated to Allied Arts from the 2023-2024 MMS Junior Board of Directors.

Community Painting: A collaborative mural project will be set up, inviting individuals of all ages and skill levels to contribute their artistic flair. This collective artwork will serve as a colorful testament to the unity and creativity within our community. The Community Painting activity will take on an exciting twist this year as we introduce a paint-by-numbers format. Participants of all ages and skill levels will have the opportunity to contribute to a large-scale artwork by filling in designated sections with corresponding colors. This innovative approach ensures that everyone can participate, regardless of their artistic background, while still creating a cohesive and visually stunning masterpiece. Join us as we come together brushstroke by brushstroke to bring this collaborative artwork to life and showcase the diversity and talent within our community.

Painted Rocks: Embracing the popular trend of painted rocks, attendees can join in the fun by creating and decorating their own rocks, which will then be hidden around town for others to discover. This activity encourages exploration and spreads joy throughout Milly. Many thanks to Bedrock Mulch and Mower for the 5 gallons of rocks that is being donated for the event.

Live Music and Local Food Trucks: In addition to the exciting activities hosted by Milledgeville Main Street, Allied Arts will be adding to the festive atmosphere with a live music performance and a selection of local food trucks. Groove to the rhythm of Randy Newton & the Flamingo Road Live Show from 6-8pm as they provide the soundtrack for the evening, adding to the vibrancy of the event. Meanwhile, tantalize your taste buds with a variety of culinary delights offered by our community's beloved food trucks Glo's Thighs & Pies along with LaBella Morelia from 5-8pm, showcasing the diverse flavors of Milledgeville. There will also be a local Artisan's Market inside Allen's Market and two opening receptions at the Marlor House from 5-7pm.

With a combination of live music and delicious food, courtesy of Allied Arts, the "I heART Milly" First Friday event promises to be an unforgettable celebration of creativity, community, and culinary delights.

Behind the scenes of the "I heART Milly" First Friday event stands a dedicated group of young leaders: the Main Street Junior Board. Comprised of 16 exceptional high school juniors from local high schools, this dynamic team has poured their creativity, passion, and hard work into planning every detail of the event.
From brainstorming innovative ideas to coordinating logistics and reaching out to community partners, the Main Street Junior Board has demonstrated remarkable leadership and initiative. Their enthusiasm for making a positive impact on Milly shines through in every aspect of the event's planning process.
As ambassadors of youth empowerment and community engagement, the Main Street Junior Board serves as a shining example of the incredible potential within Milledgeville’s younger generation. Their collaborative spirit and commitment to making a difference inspire us all to come together and celebrate the heart and soul of our city.
