PERSON_PROFILE

From the time Snarfle Waddlebelly was just a cute little goblin child growing up on the outskirts of Snowberry Hollow, he was an ornery prankster. Always getting into mischief all year long whether he was dipping the little schoolgirls pigtails in inkwells, stealing hot pies from clay ovens and his favorite... the old "baby frog surprise handshake." Oh how he would snicker and laugh at all of his prank victims until each Christmas season, when he watched in horror as all the other children—be they human, elf, dwarf, demi-humans and monsters unwrapped gifts crafted by Santa’s workshop! Their laughter and squeals of delight drifted on in the night air, while Snarfle watched from afar, wondering why only a lump of coal and no present ever found its way to his family home in the shadowed valley. He would sit for hours staring into the fireplace trying to figure out why. "What the HELL am I doing wrong?" he thought. Yet each Christmas would come and go bringing tears of joy to others and tears of pain to him.

In truth, he was a VERY NAUGHTY boy along with many others and Santa knew that as Snarfle was number one on the naughty list! Snarfle wrote countless letters over the years but none were answered. He imagined his pleas slipping through Santa’s grasp, never to be read, and it stoked a growing sense of hurt and isolation.

As the years trudged along, Snarfle would perch just out of sight, his pointy ears twitching, and watch with simmering frustration as the children of the world joyously tore open their lavishly wrapped gifts. To add insult to injury, there were several years that stood out to him in particular—like nails on a chalkboard... like that time when one brat got that damned red wagon named “Acme Flyer.” Oh how the young goblin yearned for one like it, envisioning himself hauling all his gobbledygook in style. Another "spit in the eye" for him was when other little punk got a light crossbow named "Red Rider." The goblin was certain that little rascal would "shoot someone’s eye out." Yet the most egregious one was when that pudgey little bastard got a tricycle with streamers and everything! The goblin imagined if only HE would have gotten one he would have fit them with spikes on the tires and daggers on the handlebars next to those kick-ass streamers!

His sadness evolved into determination. By the time Snarfle grew into a master shaman and magic-user among his people, he’d convinced himself that if Santa couldn’t—or wouldn’t—deliver joy to him, then he would do it himself. He would become a new kind of Santa, one who knew the twisting routes through shadowed ravines, who could navigate the warrens and catacombs, and who would bring gifts tailored to all of the NAUGHTY CHILDREN of the world! He would make this own.

One fateful night, Snarfle and his band of goblins launched their assault on Santa’s stockade, wielding their infamous lumps of coal as fiery missile weapons. They lit the coals ablaze and hurled them with reckless glee, setting the stockade’s defenses alight and spreading chaos. Under the cover of smoke and flame, they stormed the workshop, swiftly seizing control. They took Santa and his helpers hostage, not out of cruelty for its own sake, but to unlock the secrets of toy-making magic and distribution. Goblin tinkers, guided by Snarfle’s vision, began reworking the cheerful workshop into something darker and more cunning—a fortress of traps and enchanted toys that could repel any would-be heroes who tried to set things back to the old order.

Now, as Snarfle prepares for his first “Green Christmas,” he envisions riding a new kind of sleigh, pulled by firey hell hounds adapted to the underlands’ gloom. He imagines stuffing stockings of all of the bad children be they any denizen of the planet! In this re-imagined holiday, Snarfle sees not just revenge against past neglect, but a long-overdue celebration of overlooked naughty kids and creatures. And as he sets his plan in motion, Snarfle can already hear, in his mind, the delighted chittering of bad kids finally getting their just toys on Christmas morning, finally feeling seen, acknowledged, and filled with joy!
