Delco: The Movie TO HOST RED CARPET PREMIERE AND FILM SCREENINGS AT THE ICONIC MEDIA THEATER

For Immediate Release: Tuesday Dec. 3, 2024 Delaware County, PA

Delco: The Movie has officially finished production and is gearing up for a red-carpet premiere on Friday, January 17th, 2025 at the iconic Media Theatre.

A coming-of-age dramedy set in 2004, the indie feature film written, directed and produced by Delco native Chris Pierdomenico stars up and coming local actors Steve Harding, Jenna Kuerzi and Jeffrey Pfeiffer with a supporting cast of superstars including Brian O'Halloran (Clerks), Brian Dunkleman (American Idol), Brian A Wilson (The Wire), Leah Cevoli (Robot Chicken), and J.J. Cohen (Back to The Future).

The film was funded in part by generous local Delaware County business owners, community members and a much talked about crowdfunding campaign in the summer of 2023. Moviegoers will recognize many favorite Delco shops and businesses including locations such as Tom Jones Restaurant, Wawa, the Brookhaven Police Station, Ro-Lynn Delicatessen, Marty Magee's Irish Pub, BRAD FAB Industries and Springfield Presbyterian Church, to name a few.

Pierdomenico, the driving force behind Delco: The Movie wrote the original script during his days as a student at Sun Valley High School in Aston, PA. Now a film and journalism teacher at Oxford Area High School, Pierdomenico decided to re-write his Delco script and turned to fellow Sun Valley Alumni Leah Cevoli to lead the fundraising campaign and help produce the film. “It’s been truly amazing to witness the support that Chris and his movie have received.” says Cevoli, “I’m back in the area after many years working in Los Angeles -- and I’ve never seen anything like this. Delco residents and local small businesses have really gone above and beyond to help bring this film to life!”

The movie will feature the song “Delco Girl” written and performed by acclaimed singer/songwriter Paul Marturano and produced by Multiple Grammy Winner, Joe Nicolo. The song is a heartfelt tribute to Marturano's own high school days at Monsignor Bonner High School in Delco. As the Delco Movie takes audiences on a nostalgic journey through high school experiences, "Delco Girl '' promises to add a poignant and memorable section to the film’s soundtrack.

“I’m thrilled with what we’ve created here and the support shown thus far.” says Pierdomenico, “It’s been such a full-circle moment for me. I’ve gotten to cast my former (retired) teachers to play themselves in my movie, and on the flip side I’ve gotten to involve my (current and former) students as crew and background.”

The film is being executive produced by Matt Wallach, Jonathan Hartline, Joe Magee and Steve Bradley.

Delco: The Movie will hold its red carpet premiere Friday January 17th at The Media Theatre, with three additional screenings open to the public of all-ages on Saturday January 18th and Sunday January 19th, 2025.

About the Delco:The Movie Team:
Chris Pierdomenico (writer/director/producer/editor) Born in Chester, PA and spending his formative years bouncing around Delco, “Chris P.” is an alumni of Sun Valley HS (‘04) and West Chester University (‘10 and ‘21). Chris began his filmmaking career over 20 years ago, when he wrote and shot the original Delco movie as a school project. Additionally, he’s a content creator (DorkDaily), podcast producer (DunkleVision) and film & journalism teacher at Oxford Area HS. After spending years in the viral video realm and creating numerous award-winning short films, Pierdomenico is ecstatic to be sharing his first feature-length film, and hopes it will just be the first of many films he sets in Delco.

Leah Cevoli (Producer/Actor) Born in SW Philly and raised in Delco, Leah is also an alumni of Sun Valley HS (‘92) and West Chester University (‘96). An accomplished actor, voice actor, film producer and host; Leah is most notably known for her acting work on Cartoon Network’s Robot Chicken and HBO’s Deadwood. Cevoli is a force to be reckoned with having raised a combined total of over 2 million dollars for indie filmmakers and other creatives via her crowdfunding coaching business. She is thrilled to be back on the east coast eating scrapple and producing this love letter to everyone’s favorite county, Delco!

Kevin Hackenberg - (Director of Photography/Producer/Muse) Born in PA three hours from Delco, Kevin visited his first Wawa in 1990 when passing through on his way “down the shore.” Little did Kevin know how important Delco and Wawa would be to his personal artistic and nutritional journey. Kevin is an accomplished producer, director, and cinematographer who jump-started his career on films like The Sixth Sense, directed celebrities such as Neil Patrick Harris and Kevin Hart, and is also called on to pull out Oscar-worthy performances from everyday people, famous athletes, media icons, and fortune 50 executives. Kevin believes production is a team-sport and in 2003, started his own production company, Get-Kinetic, to better collaborate with other filmmakers and clients and then launched the 501(c)(3) Funny&Amen to create comedy content. Funny&Amen’s first feature film, Murder at the Lakehouse featuring Academy Award nominee Gary Busey is planned for release April 1, 2025.

Matt Wallach - (Executive Producer) grew up in Wallingford and played soccer for Nether Soccer Club, Strath Haven, and the original Delco all star team. Matt co‐founded a software company named Veeva Systems [NYSE:VEEV], one of the world’s leading cloud software companies and a public benefit corporation, where he serves on the board of directors. Since his retirement in 2019, Matt has become an avid golfer and is also an owner of the Philadelphia Union. Matt is focused on philanthropy for kids in Philadelphia and is on the board of the Philadelphia Union Foundation and The First Tee.
