3 Depression Fighting Hikes in the North Bay that will save your life. These are my top 3, I recommend going solo, to really clear your head: 👇🏼Just go!!

First up is:

1. Matt Davis-Steep Ravine-Dipsea Loop (Mt. Tamalpais State Park)

• What I like about it: This trail is EPIC! It’s a loop that combines lush redwood forests, cascading waterfalls, and stunning ocean views. The Matt Davis Trail section features beautiful switchbacks through forested areas, while the Steep Ravine Trail offers enchanting wooden bridges and a magical ladder climb. The Dipsea Trail provides breathtaking coastal vistas.
• Distance: ~7.5 miles (loop)
• Difficulty: Moderate

2. Point Reyes: Tomales Point Trail

• Why I like it: The VIEWS!!!! panoramic views of the Pacific Ocean and Tomales Bay while leading through open meadows. It’s also known for incredible wildlife spotting—elk herds, hawks, and even whales during migration season. The trail culminates at the dramatic Tomales Point.
• Distance: ~9.4 miles (out-and-back)
• Difficulty: Moderate

3. Muir Woods to Mount Tamalpais Summit (via the Fern Creek Trail)

• Why I like it: It’s an up hill climb for the booty, starting in the Redwoods of Muir Woods National Monument to the summit of Mt. Tam for panoramic views of the Bay Area, including the Golden Gate Bridge and San Francisco. This route showcases the best of North Bay nature—redwoods, chaparral, and breathtaking views!
• Distance: ~7 miles (out-and-back)
• Difficulty: Moderate to strenuous

Each of these hikes showcases a unique aspect of the North Bay’s natural beauty, from redwoods and waterfalls to coastal and panoramic views. If you’re up for it, they will definitely improve your seasonal depression!
