Great Morning, and for those who celebrate the tradition, Happy Thanksgiving Eve! 🦃
This next adventure is that of our entry into a new state, which includes pics of our entry, route, and itinerary, which we share so that all of you hitching a ride out there know where the backroads will take us, and the stops that will be along that route! This way, you can give suggestions for places not on the list, tell of experiences or tips of your own for places that are on the list, and so you know where we are in case you would like to meet up and say hi, or go for a hike together!!
In these posts we normally try to detail a bit of the history of each new state, and say goodbye to the state we are leaving, especially if our preplanned route doesn't return to that state again.
We have a lot of new people constantly hitching a ride on this adventure, so we will explain a few things before moving on. The rig below is our chariot of dreams, which responds to the name Fish of the Highway!
In the next few pictures, we have the current section of our completely preplanned 35,000 mile road trip traced out with highlighter along the path we will be taking, and then the current itinerary of stops along that route. This route and 500 pages of stops were all created 4-5 years ago, as I healed from an accident that broke eight vertabrae and evolved my thinking about what the world had to offer and which of those things mattered most to us!
We used two books and two dozen websites to create this route, but it's not perfect, so if you have suggestions, we always love to hear them in the comments below!
We won't be including any details about Ohio, the 34th largest state by area and seventh largest by population in the country, known as the Buckeye State, as we have been in this state before, and have no desire to bore you with facts you perhaps saw previously, like how it was the seventeenth state admitted to the Union, how it's the only state to not have a rectangular flag, or the fact that more presidents have come from the state than any other, earning it the title of "the cradle of presidents"!
As far as Michigan, I think we have stated before, but it was quite possibly our favorite state so far, out of seventeen. Definitely in the top three, that's for sure!
We spent last winter, including Christmas and New Year's, in its Upper Peninsula and fell in love, and after exploring the Lower Peninsula and the many experiences we have had with nature and the Great Lakes, but also in its amazing cities, we just fell in love even more, so we will miss it, and hope one day to return!

We have done a ton of exploring online trying to find a place that was open for Thanksgiving tomorrow, but also wasn't too expensive, to no avail, so we will probably hang out on a trail at Cuyahoga National Park, and eat boil-in-bag rice and curry for our obligatory holiday feast!
We hope everyone has just as pleasant of a Thanksgiving, and to those who have few to spend it with or memories that make it unpleasant, we hope it's a Happy Thursday! ❤️🫂🦃🖖🏻
