🎄It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas in Historic Downtown Wilkesboro! Christmas in the Commons is just ✨10 DAYS AWAY✨ and we have some EXCITING new performances added to the lineup for the event!🎉

🎁Christmas in the Commons Event Schedule🎁
❄️3:00 pm: The Wilkes County Storybook Christmas Parade will kick off an evening of fun for the entire family as it passes through Downtown Wilkesboro around 3 pm!

❄️3:30 pm: Food Trucks and Kids’ Activities Open!
Food Truck Lineup Includes: Wingz On Wheelz, The Hotdog BOY, La Esquina, Wutyasay -Food Truck, Cowlick Moos and Chews, and Winner's Circle BBQ
Kids of all ages will be able to enjoy a photo booth📸, the Little Mountain Railroad Christmas Train🚂, a giant snowman bounce house⛄️, and other activities! Don’t miss a special visit from Mr. and Mrs. Claus from 5:30 pm to 8:00 pm!

❄️5:30 pm: Performance by Charlie Hicks
Charles Hicks was born in Boone, North Carolina, and was raised in the small town of Wilkesboro, he was a young man who grew up with dreams in his heart, and ambition in his voice, he knew from a young age he had an affiliation for the musical arts, listening to classic Rock and Roll, and the old fashioned bluegrass songs of his family bloodline. The loud lacerations of Rock and Roll, the soft but sharp chords strung of the old-time songs passed down from his own blood. Growing up in a small town Charles had experienced both love and loss, friendship and hardship, all of which he incorporates into his songs.

❄️6:00 pm: Performance by Presley Barker
Presley Barker is a singer-songwriter from Wilkes County, North Carolina, known for his soulful blend of country, blues, and Americana. With a natural storytelling ability and a powerful, emotive voice, Presley crafts songs that capture the heart of Southern life, love, and struggle. Drawing on his roots in the Appalachian region, his music combines heartfelt lyrics with raw, authentic sound, making him a standout talent in the Americana and Roots music scene. His unique style resonates with fans of traditional country as well as contemporary music, earning him a growing following both regionally and beyond.

❄️7:00 pm: The Heritage Square Tree Lighting Ceremony; followed by performances by Andrew Palmer & Friends and The Kruger Brothers
Andrew Palmer is a Wilkes County native who has been playing original music for nearly 30 years. From 2003 to 2015, he was the lead singer/songwriter for the Charlotte, NC-based bands Hot Vegas and The Air Station. His current music project is Andrew X. Over the years, Andrew has released 8 albums, played hundreds of shows throughout the eastern US, and has had music featured on many nationally televised shows, including MTV's The Real World and Road Rules, Oxygen Channel's Bad Girls Club, and on the Keeping Up With The Kardashians' spin-off show Dash Girls. In 2010, he started the live music Christmas charity event Carols For Kids, which he held for 10 years until passing it off to be carried on by a local non-profit.

The Kruger Brothers are a Swiss-American bluegrass and acoustic music trio known for their virtuosic musicianship and deeply emotive performances. Comprised of brothers Jens (banjo) and Uwe Krüger (guitar), along with bassist Joel Landsberg, the band blends elements of traditional bluegrass, classical music, and jazz into a unique sound they describe as "New Acoustic." Since their formation in the 1990s, the Kruger Brothers have earned a reputation for their innovative arrangements, technical prowess, and the rich harmonies that define their music. Their compositions often reflect themes of nature, spirituality, and human connection, earning them critical acclaim and a loyal fanbase worldwide. With a deep respect for American roots music, the Kruger Brothers continue to push the boundaries of acoustic music while remaining true to their Swiss heritage.
