I’ve been asked a ton of questions - I gave some information when I started this journey and I need to back track it.

A public post to all is sufficient - this is a very long post, but I have high hopes of stopping just one person from buying a primate from bad breeders, spread awareness and share my story.

If you’re truly interested in purchasing a primate. Read this - ask me questions, please no direct messages - everything I have to say needs to be public - I see things now I didn’t see before and I know this can happen to ANYONE

These type of breeders LOVE first time monkey owners, keep reading to find out why.

Through lots of research so I thought here’s my story please keep in mind I did not have all the information in front of me that I have now.

As we buried my baby, it’s MY turn to talk…

I got to spend the most amazing week of my life with the most amazing little guy ever. At first I thought a freak accident happened.

But little did I know, we never had a chance in hell to make it.

I had been in contact with KCs Ranch in Laurinburg, NC regarding a baby marmoset.

On 10-16, Mallory, employee of KCs Ranch, told me they would have marmosets soon, but that two had deposits and if there was a third one I would be next. Or wait for next round. Perfect!

I sent in my $500 deposit. At this time I was told the babies were not born yet but would be any day now. ( see screenshot )

On 10-17, the next day Mallory the assistant and person I was in contact the entire time said she had me set up in the system and we chatted about cages as I had plans to purchase one from the breeder. Great she had one! (See screenshot)

Baby capuchin photos as my daughter was researching capuchin and Mallory thought she would like to see them. How sweet! I loved that the breeder or employee had listened to me.

On 10-29 in the same conversation I also find out that the baby marmosets was born the day before on a Monday. Please see screen recording. Which she also gave me first pick, but on 10-16, she told me I was pick 3. But whatever maybe buyers back out.

I received a message on 11-12, the most exciting message ever! (See screenshot)

Emotions flew she explained 4 weeks was normal - I really really trusted this lady and the breeders ( see screenshot )

The evening of 11-21, my baby was on my chest sleeping, and he had passed away..I was hysterical and did the first thing I could thing of, call Mallory. She’s been amazing through all this and she said call anytime up to this point.

She’s answered the phone. She sounded sincere and said “chuck the owner is sleeping I’ll have him reach out to you tomorrow” I explained I didn’t want money back or a monkey I just wanted to talk to someone and see what happened. That was it!

I didn’t like that but okay - I’ll wait…

11-22 came around - Mallory had “read” my messages but never contacted me or acknowledged my text. Nor did I receive a call all day on the 22nd.

I was upset that this breeder had not a care in the world to discuss what happened with me.

At 6:53 pm when messages were still going unanswered. I receive a SEVEN minute call from a lady named Kay. I’m quickly also noticed Chuck in the background.

During this call, the breeders confirmed that 4 weeks was normal and that his birthdate was indeed 10-16. They also told me I must have suffocated him, blaming me for his death, and eventually hung up on me.

I sent Kay a text message asking her about
the date of birthday yet again with screenshots of the legal paperwork and then the dates that Mallory provided me and their Facebook provided me.. I woke up this morning and voila! They blocked me on social media after I sent them the evidence I had in my hands of them lieing.

From my understanding, a report to the USDA may do us some good, but the penalty for forging paperwork is $1k and or 1 year license revocation. This is the exotic realm - that’s a piss poor penalty for what’s at stake - I hope to be able to research this more, become more educated on it.

In the end, this is what I know. These babies were born on 10-28 on a Monday. Not the 16th. So if we thought 4 weeks was sketchy, imagine how it feels to know I had a two week old baby in my arms that had NO business being there, but in the end I’m glad I got that week with Maeham.

I’ve had three other USDA breeders and brokers involved in this as I made this journey and they are blown away.

While I can’t tell you guys where to get your baby marmoset or primate - I can surely tell you where NOT to get them.

Mallory also told me she would have a cage available for me upon arrival to take my baby home. I got a 4x4 inch pouch, baby blanket, bottle and forged dates paper work. ( check the receipts, date of deposit and messages) also they offer cages in text message and online, but you won’t find any primate cages or accessories in this Auto performance body shop off the beaten path.

Maeham was put in my arms for a reason, and his life was worth more. He deserved more.

Looking back now at the auto performance shop, also known as RC Performances, I was sent to pick up this baby at, there was so many signs. I just didn’t see them at the time.

But in the end, I don’t regret it. I don’t want the money back. I never wanted another monkey. I just wanted to talk. But the more they ignored me, the more I dug and the fire grew more and more. Now I am Maehams voice.

Bad breeders and breeder neglect is something I’m finding I’m super passionate about.

Your neglect with your breedings ways till not deter me from living my dream - you gave me the fuel I needed to be an advocate and spread awareness.
