A question jumped out at me from the a social media post - What if I am taking for granted the things I once prayed for? And those words completely disrupted my schedule and danced in front of me like a small child trying to get her mother's attention while she's on the phone. And I came to the profound realization, summed into six simple words, whispered in my ear like a secret.

I Forgot To Watch My Wishes

I forgot to watch my wishes on the day I let them go
To see where they would land and watch where they would grow.
Maybe always too busy in the moment I am in
Thinking about what needs to be, rather than what has been.
But today, I turned back to that wish I carried in my pocket way back when
And followed the seed to where it landed, here and there and there again.
Sometimes, where it landed, was nothing like what I had planned
Yet, looking back, I see it was needed for the next place it would land.
And sometimes that wish was nothing like I'd asked for it to be,
Yet somehow, even more beautiful and a better fit for me.
So when you dream and wish for how you want your life to be
When you blow a dandelion and let your wish go free.
