🗞 The Monday Report 📰 🟣 GLF 17 provided the entertainment the fans of 🟣🎥 GLF desired. Hard-hitting five-man football returned on October 20th to crown the ⭐️5️⃣🌎👑🏈⭐️ 2024 World Champions.

Four teams were invited, the top three winningest teams and the team 🟣🎥 GLF designated as the top POWER RANKED team in the organization. The top teams at 6-0 were the Maricopa Muddawgs 🇦🇹, second was the 5-5 Hi-Desert 29ers 🟡🔵, third was the 4-6 Coachella Vibes 🏴‍☠️, and the final team to make the cut was the 3-5 Hellhounds 🔥🐕 from Parts Unknown.

The Muddawgs 🇦🇹 had very little reward for being the top team in 🟣 Goal Line Football. Their reward was setting the tournament date, choosing their semi-final opponent, and selecting their start time.

The Muddawgs 🇦🇹 selected to play the Hellhounds 🔥🐕 in the late semi-final game, which would put them playing back-to-back if they won their semi-final matchup. That automatically matched the Vibes 🏴‍☠️ against the 29ers 🟡🔵 in the early game and the winner would have to sit a game and cool off while waiting for their championship competition.

In semi-final Game 1️⃣, the 29ers 🟡🔵 traveled to Palm Springs to take on the hot and cold Vibes 🏴‍☠️. With a 2-1 record in 2024 against the Vibes 🏴‍☠️, the game odds were a toss-up at the start of this match.

The 29ers 🟡🔵 started with the ball and mishandled their first down of their first series and a Vibes 🏴‍☠️ forced fumble and recovery caused a turnover ⛔️.

The Vibes' 🏴‍☠️ first possession precession was a fumbled snap recovery for a short gain, a second down toss stopped inside the five yard line, and a third down strategic kneel to get back in six-point range. On fourth down the Vibes 🏴‍☠️ handed the ball off, but the 29ers' 🟡🔵 defense 🧱 was stout and didn't give up any yards to force a turnover ⛔️ and keep the score 0️⃣-0️⃣ going into the second series.

Down 7, the Vibes 🏴‍☠️ used a new strategy to keep the defense 🧱 on their toes with an improvement on the double pitch to kill the four second passing clock and open up their QB as a runner 👟.

The smooth action pitch and pass ✈️ on first down was precise and the Vibes 🏴‍☠️ scored seven points to tie up the game.

The 29ers' 🟡🔵 third series was a pair of passes ✈️✈️. An incomplete pass🚫✈️ was followed up with a defense 🧱-busting pass ✈️ from the 29ers' 🟡🔵 All-Star QB ⭐️ to their Top 10 wide receiver.

Down 7, the Vibes' 🏴‍☠️ third series consisted of a pair of incomplete passes 🚫✈️🚫✈️ followed up with a tackle for a loss and a fourth down incomplete pass🚫✈️ to turnover ⛔️ the ball.

The 29ers 🟡🔵, up 1️⃣4️⃣-7️⃣, used the fourth series to open up the game and force the Vibes 🏴‍☠️ to formulate points. They overcame a four-second violation and an incomplete pass🚫✈️ and found the endzone again with a pass ✈️ from their All-Star QB ⭐️ to their Top 10 WR.

Down 2️⃣1️⃣-7️⃣, the Vibes 🏴‍☠️ continued to fine-tune their double pitch but found themselves third and long after a minimal run 👟 and incomplete pass🚫✈️. On third down, the Vibes 🏴‍☠️ completed a pitch and pass from their All-Star QB ⭐️ and WR duo for a touchdown 🏈.

Going into halftime the score was 2️⃣1️⃣-1️⃣4️⃣ with neither team showing complete domination.

The Vibes 🏴‍☠️ started on offense in the fifth series. They used all four downs with three incomplete passes 🚫✈️🚫✈️🚫✈️ in row before their All-Star QB ⭐️ shuffled in for a touchdown 🏈 on a pitch and dash to even the game 2️⃣1️⃣-2️⃣1️⃣.

The Vibes 🏴‍☠️ were able to match the 29ers' 🟡🔵 intensity to start the sixth series with another pitch and pass ✈️ from their all-star duo ⭐️⭐️ to tie the game at 28.

The game was coming down to who wanted it more. The 29ers 🟡🔵 upped the ante in the sixth series with a third down touchdown pass 🏈✈️ to their center after a run 👟 stopped inside the five yard line and a strategic kneel.

To start the final series, down 7, the Vibes 🏴‍☠️ only needed one play to score with another seemingly triple pitch and pass ✈️ from their All-Star duo ⭐️⭐️ to keep the game tied.

The 29ers 🟡🔵 rushed to the line in the final series of a tied game and as soon as the whistle blew their team readied themselves to a vacant defense 🧱 still positioning themselves. The 29ers 🟡🔵 used a quick snap to catch their opponents off guard and scored an easy walk off touchdown 🏈 run 👟 from their All-Star running back ⭐️👟 to win the game 4️⃣9️⃣-4️⃣2️⃣. The 29ers 🟡🔵 won the game and the Vibes 🏴‍☠️ got a free lesson. The 29ers 🟡🔵 moved on to the Championship game against the winners of the Muddawgs 🇦🇹 vs Hellhounds 🔥🐕 Semi-final game.

Semi-final Game 2️⃣ saw 👀 the undefeated Muddawgs 🇦🇹 start on offense against the talented and wiley Hellhounds 🔥🐕 football team. The Muddawgs 🇦🇹 used all four downs in their first series starting with a short run 👟 inside the five, a strategic kneel to get back in six point range, an incomplete pass🚫✈️, and a fourth down false start that ended with a replay of down touchdown run 🏈👟 for six points.

The Muddawgs 🇦🇹 elected to go for two points. The gamble ended short of the goal line and the score was 6️⃣-0️⃣ halfway through the first series.

The Hellhounds' 🔥🐕 first series was short lived with a fumbled snap to their wildcat QB that was recovered out of bounds for a safety and Muddawgs' 🇦🇹 two points.

Up 8️⃣-0️⃣, the Muddawgs' 🇦🇹 second series saw 👀 one of the Muddawgs' 🇦🇹 duo of running back ⭐️⭐️👟 All-Stars score on first down. The Muddawgs 🇦🇹 wasted no time calling for a two-point conversion attempt and gave the ball to their third option at running back 👟 who completed the conversion attempt.

Down 1️⃣6️⃣-0️⃣ going into the second series the Hellhounds 🔥🐕 found an opening in the Muddawgs' 🇦🇹 defense 🧱 and scored on first down to keep their championship hopes alive.

The Hellhounds 🔥🐕 felt the urgency to go for two points early to match the Muddawgs' 🇦🇹 intensity but were stopped short and ended their possession down 10, 1️⃣6️⃣-6️⃣.

The Mudddawgs 🇦🇹 seemed like they were primed to score at will with a complete pass ✈️ from their star QB ⭐️ to his center. Again the Muddawgs 🇦🇹 chose to go for two and were stopped short to make them 1-3 on the day going for two.

On their second first down of the series the Hellhounds 🔥🐕 got a second touchdown 🏈 from their line busting running back 👟 to cut the lead. The Hellhounds 🔥🐕 went for two points, but the Muddawgs' 🇦🇹 standout defender forced a fumble and the Hellhounds 🔥🐕 could not recover for points and ended the series down 10.

Scoring at will, the Muddawgs 🇦🇹 pitched the ball to their All-Star running back ⭐️👟 for an effortless touchdown 🏈. The Muddawgs' 🇦🇹 strategy to go for two continued, but their percentages of failure continued to grow to 1-4 in the game.

Down 2️⃣8️⃣-1️⃣2️⃣ going into the last possession before halftime the Hellhounds 🔥🐕 needed all four downs starting with a run 👟 with no gain, an incomplete pass🚫✈️, another minimal run 👟, and a fourth down run 👟 short of the goal for a turnover on downs ⛔️.

After halftime, the Hellhounds 🔥🐕 started on offense. On first down the Hellhounds' 🔥🐕 run 👟 play was stopped for no gain. On second down the Hellhounds 🔥🐕 were at the mercy of the Muddawgs' 🇦🇹 defense 🧱 and their run 👟 play was stopped for a loss of yards. On third down the Hellhounds 🔥🐕 tested the Muddawgs' 🇦🇹 air defense 🧱 and were intercepted by the Muddawgs' 🇦🇹 secondary defensive standout who returned his interception to the opposite end zone for six points.

Up 3️⃣4️⃣-1️⃣2️⃣ the Muddawgs 🇦🇹 elected to go for two points and may have stumbled upon their weakness falling to 1-5 in the game with the failed attempt.

The Muddawgs' 🇦🇹 fifth series was a score-six-and-win situation. They handed the ball off and were tackled inside the five. Second down, the Muddawgs 🇦🇹 strategically kneeled the ball to get back in six point range. On third down they handed the ball off to their All-Star running back ⭐️👟 Dav Butler who took them to the championship game with his hard running 👟 effort in the Muddawgs' 🇦🇹 semi-final victory. The Muddawgs 🇦🇹 won 4️⃣0️⃣-1️⃣2️⃣ in the fifth series and faced the 29ers 🟡🔵 in the 2024 Championship game.

The 2024 Championship stage was set and the two best teams in 🟣🎥 GLF were set to play for it all.

They handed the ball off to their second All-Star running back ⭐️👟 option for the third consecutive time and on first down he made short work of the 29ers' 🟡🔵 defense 🧱 and scored six points. The Muddawgs 🇦🇹 elected to take the free point offered after every touchdown 🏈. The Muddawgs 🇦🇹 were up 2️⃣1️⃣-7️⃣ halfway through the third series.

The 29ers 🟡🔵 threw four consecutive incomplete passes 🚫🚫🚫🚫✈️and turned the ball over on downs going into the last series before halftime.

Unbelievably the Muddawgs 🇦🇹 handed the ball off to their second All-Star running back ⭐️👟 option and on first down he made short work of the 29ers 🟡🔵 defense 🧱 and scored six points. The Muddawgs 🇦🇹 elected to take the free point offered after every touchdown 🏈.

Down 2️⃣8️⃣-7️⃣ going into their last possession before halftime, the 29ers 🟡🔵 used all four downs with an incomplete pass🚫✈️, a run 👟 inside the five yard line, a strategic kneel, and a fourth down pass ✈️ completed, but short of the goal for a turnover on downs ⛔️ and kept the score 2️⃣8️⃣-7️⃣ at halftime.

The 29ers 🟡🔵 started the fifth series with the ball and after an incomplete pass🚫✈️, their All-Star ⭐️, league-leading in TD’s quarterback scrambled in for seven points to keep his team’s championship hopes alive.

Up 2️⃣8️⃣-1️⃣4️⃣, the Muddawgs 🇦🇹 finally found some opposition to their run 👟 game. They needed three plays to score, but were stopped on back-to-back rush attempts before the Muddawgs 🇦🇹 center’s number was called. He ran a touchdown 🏈 route to push the Muddawgs' 🇦🇹 lead to 21 points going into the sixth series.

The Muddawgs 🇦🇹 were able to win the 2024 5-Man World Championship on defense 🧱. The 29ers 🟡🔵 had to score to stay alive. After three incomplete passes 🚫🚫🚫✈️ the Muddawgs 🇦🇹 used their “Defensive Option” 🟪 to force the 29ers 🟡🔵 to finish their drive from the 20 yard line. On fourth down, the 29ers' 🟡🔵 season came down to a bad snap over the head of the wildcat QB for a safety. The final score was 3️⃣7️⃣-1️⃣4️⃣ and the Muddawgs 🇦🇹 won the 2024 5-Man World Championship Rings and all of the accolades that come with being the back-to-back world champions. They finished the season 8-0 and haven't been beaten in their last 13 games. Congratulations to them and their accomplishment.

Not to be outshined by the championship game the Vibes 🏴‍☠️ and Hellhounds 🔥🐕 returned to the field after a short afternoon layoff to determine the 3rd best team in 🟣 Goal Line Football and position themselves going into 2025.

The Hellhounds 🔥🐕 started on offense and made short work of their first series with a first down rushing touchdown 🏈.

The Vibes 🏴‍☠️, down 7, fumbled their first snap and recovered it for a short gain. On second down, they fumbled the snap, but it was recovered for a pass attempt that was caught in the endzone for a game tying touchdown 🏈.

The second series saw 👀 the Hellhounds 🔥🐕 score on second down after a short run 👟, they finished off their series with a rushing touchdown 🏈 for seven points. The Hellhounds 🔥🐕 were up 1️⃣4️⃣-7️⃣ early.

The Vibes' 🏴‍☠️ third series was another fumbled snap, but this time recovered and rushed in for a Vibes' 🏴‍☠️ touchdown 🏈 by their elusive QB.

Tied up, the Hellhounds 🔥🐕 had a costly fumbled snap go out of bounds for a safety and a Vibes' 🏴‍☠️ two point increase.

Up 1️⃣6️⃣-1️⃣4️⃣, the Vibes 🏴‍☠️ were unable to capitalize. They ran the ball inside the five on first down and followed that with a kneel to get back in six point range. Their third down ended with a forced fumble and recovery and the Hellhounds 🔥🐕 retook possession of the ball.

The Hellhounds' 🔥🐕 All-Star ⭐️ player took the game into his own hands in the fourth series scoring a one play touchdown 🏈 on a wildcat QB keeper. The Hellhounds 🔥🐕 retook the lead 2️⃣1️⃣-1️⃣6️⃣.

The final possession before halftime ended in a Vibes' 🏴‍☠️ safety after a fumbled snap recovered and re-fumbled out of the end zone. The Vibes 🏴‍☠️ gave up two points late and the Hellhounds 🔥🐕 extended their lead to 2️⃣3️⃣-1️⃣6️⃣.

The Vibes 🏴‍☠️ started on offense in the fifth series. They continued to fumble the snap but made progress with a short pass ✈️ before an incomplete pass🚫✈️. On third down they completed the snap and the play for a passing touchdown 🏈✈️ and tied the game.

The Hellhounds 🔥🐕 found their new strategy nearly unstoppable with another touchdown run 🏈👟 for seven points.

They should be a threat in 2025.

From an observer's opinion, 2024 concluded as expected. The 29ers' 🟡🔵 sideline will determine their fate in football in general. The Vibes 🏴‍☠️ need to solidify a QB and form a practice squad with the remaining four QB’s they have available. The Hellhounds 🔥🐕 need a 5-Man Playbook. They are the most experienced team. In conclusion, the Muddawgs 🇦🇹 need some competition.
