GIVEAWAY TIME! You know our family loves the Clearwater Marine Aquarium, their rescues, rehabilitation facility, mission as a non-profit, and their upgrades these last few years. CMA’s latest exhibit “Aqua Lanterns: A Chinese Festival of Lights” certainly exceeded our family’s expectations. As a huge bonus, we loved visiting with the marine life after sunset, a glimpse into their nighttime routines. 🦦🐬🐢

I wasn’t quite sure what to expect, initially setting aside an hour for “30 lantern displays”. Thing is, I totally missed the keyword “displays”. It’s actually 30 illuminated areas, not simply 30 lanterns. Each display contains many lanterns, so the illuminated sculptures are featured throughout CMA’s entire sprawling facility. Some larger than cars, up to 13 feet tall.

After 2 hours of roaming, we agreed their latest exhibit knocked our expectations out of the tank. I also hadn’t factored time in for visiting with the marine life, somewhat like a regular visit!

Cost: Ages 2 and under, Free. Otherwise $55/ticket. CMA is a non-profit, ticket sales support their mission to rescue and rehabilitate marine animals.

As the sun sets, the aquarium transforms into a glowing seascape, filled with stunning illuminated sculptures, up to 13-feet tall, of whales, penguins, jellyfish and other sparkling sea creatures. Stroll through this mesmerizing marine world and discover over 30 beautifully crafted lantern displays next to the amazing real animals that will inspire you throughout the aquarium.”
