Appetite for Autumn

🇺🇸 This is an illustration of a younger brother who is proud to cook as much as he likes with plenty of autumn ingredients, and a bigger sister who is happy to see them.
In Japan, there is a saying, “Autumn is the season of appetite,” and I titled this illustration after the famous Guns N’ Roses album.
This time, the situation is unusually comedic.

The dishes I am illustrating here are all dishes I have made before. From the top left, pumpkin gratin, grilled saury, mushrooms steamed in an earthen pot (mushrooms are steamed in a container and the soup is savored).
Chestnut rice, fig, sweet potato and chevre cheese salad from bottom left,
(a dish in which persimmons are mixed with crumbled white tofu, in this case with fresh cheese), and eggplant dengaku (eggplant coated with miso and baked). Autumn is a good time for ingredients, so whatever you make will be delicious.
The Yamamomo sake that I had painted in the previous Art de Vivre is also finished, and I am pleased with its results.
The dishes are mainly from Le Creuset. They are useful as they go well with Japanese food.

The music is “Music from Big Pink,” “Cahoots,” and the self-titled “The Band” from The Band, an American-Canadian group active from the 1960s to the 1970s.

🇯🇵 たっぷりの秋の食材を使って、好き放題に料理を作って自慢げな弟と喜ぶ姉といったイラスト。
日本には”食欲の秋”と言うような言い方がありまして、タイトルはGuns N’ Rosesの有名なアルバムにかけて付けました。
今回はそんな感じで珍しくコメディタッチなシチュエーションに。
