As an orphan adopted by Gamma, I never imagined I could marry Adrian Miller, the future alpha of the Crystal Blood Pack. Yet, despite our two years of marriage, Adrian hasn't marked me and often lives outside with his lovers. I’ve tried repeatedly to win his love but failed each time. The loveless marriage has left me depressed. Maybe a child could bring him home more often.
**
“Congratulations!” Dr. Reid exclaimed, “You're having babies!”
My mouth dropped. “Really? Babies?!” I stroked my stomach, unable to contain my grin as tears rolled down my cheeks.
“Yes, twins,” Dr. Reid confirmed. “But be careful. Your walls are extremely thin.”
His words stunned me, and fear for my children surged. I knew I had to be careful and protect them from any harm.
But would Adrian be happy about our children and come to love us more?
After I returned home, I found Adrian with his new lover, Lynda, seated together in the living room.
Obviously he was gently comforting her as she cried. I clenched my fists, consumed by hurt.
Adrian yelled to me, “How dare you bully Lynda!”
“What? What are you talking about?” I was confused.
His expression became more ferocious. “Oh, please. You make me sick.”
Unable to endure the humiliation any longer, I covered my mouth to stifle my sobs and scurried to my bedroom.
There, I took out the divorce agreement I’d prepared a few months ago, after the first time Adrian had mistreated me for Lynda.
I have no choice but to proceed for the sake of my children who couldn’t endure any mistreatment.
I signed the paper, tears falling on them—I knew a child couldn't change the fact that Adrian didn’t care about me at all.
Suddenly, Adrian burst into the room and locked the door.
I hid the agreement at once and stood up, alarmed, “Ad-Adrian.”
He pushed me onto the bed, pinned my hands, and started undressing me. “Do you think you’ll be the luna?” he growled. I struggled, yelling, “No! Please stop!”
He kissed my neck roughly. “Stop pretending! This is what you wanted.”
I couldn't stand it anymore and cried, “Let’s get a divorce.”
Adrian froze at the word divorce, “Do you even know what you are saying?”, he said, releasing his grip on my hands.
I burst into tears and repeated, “Let’s get a divorce.”
He frowned, “Boring,” dismissively as he moved away and rose from the bed. “You’re nothing but a nuisance!”
“I’m not kidding. I’m serious.” I took out the agreement, “I’ve signed them, so I am no longer your wife.”
Adrian snatched them from me, took a quick glance, then threw them aside. Grabbing me by the neck.
He glared at me with a clenched jaw.
I tried to get myself away from him, but failed.
He gritted his teeth and muttered, “Do you think you can do whatever you want?”
“I will leave the Crystal Blood Pack,” I said, my voice breaking, “I-I was in this marriage because I thought one day we would have a happy family with our childr—”
“Children?” He glared at me. “How could you even think I’d let you carry my heir, you foolish woman? Stop daydreaming!”
Shocked, I couldn’t help but gape. Why was I so surprised?
I should have known he wasn’t the man to offer me or my children any love.
I realized then that I couldn’t let him know about my pregnancy. My babies would be mine alone, raised with pure love, not his hatred.
I gathered up courage and provoked, “So why don’t you sign the papers?”
His eyes grew shadowy, yet blazed at the same time. “You think I won’t sign?”
He released his grip finally and then signed his name on the divorce papers as though he couldn’t get rid of me fast enough.
His face was no sign of regret there, only indifference and disdain.
He casually tossed the divorce papers to the floor, and slammed a bank card into my hand. “Take this. Consider it as your payment for the night services you have provided over the past two years.”
Years of love and care, he dismissed as mere 'night services.'
My tears fell silently as he turned and left the room. I lowered my head, lost in thought...
Slowly, I slowly placed my hand on my stomach and said, “I am sorry. I have to take you both away from your father to protect you.”
This time, I placed the bank card on the nightstand, then packed a suitcase, all the while wiping away tears.
He’d made fun of my love. He’d used me for “night service.”
“I will never forget that, Adrian Miller,” I said as I closed the latch on the bag.
Inhaling deeply, I walked out of the pack house, carrying the anguish that was in my heart: no home, no pack, no family, no husband.
I was all alone once again.
“I am a rogue now.”

Aimless and empty, I wandered into the road, then into a dark forest.
I wrapped my arms around myself as it became windy. But something deeper and far colder within me, it was my heart had turned to ice, frozen and unyielding.
Exhausted, a thorn pierced my foot, “Ahh!” I cried, tears flowing from my eyes as I could no longer contain my feelings.
Suddenly, growls and shouts erupted behind me.
"She is really beautiful!" said a man’s voice.
I whipped my head around to find several rogues approaching.
“Catch her!” said one of the rogues.
Panic flooded me. They wanted to rape me.
I ran, holding my tummy and tearing through branches and thorns, blood staining my dress.
Chased by wolves, I spotted a boundary and dashed toward it.
“Don’t cross that border. There’s a dangerous pack over there. They’ll kill you.”
Ignoring the warning from my chasers, I crossed into the new territory and continued to bolt.
I glanced back quickly. The pursuers hadn’t followed. I finally relaxed and took a breath.
Just in case, I started to run again despite my spinning head, and soon after, I collapsed.
A pair of brown boots came to a stop in front of me as the world around me faded into darkness...
