Auditions: "The Unfortunates" by Aoise Stratford

Mary Jane Kelly has a problem. She’s a pound forty behind in her rent, her window is broken, she has lost her key, and her boyfriend just moved out. And it’s 1888—not a good time to be poor and “unfortunate” on the streets of London. Somewhere out there in the foggy shadows, Jack the Ripper, one of the world’s most notorious criminals is at work. Mary only has two ways to secure her own front door. One of them is prostitution. The other is selling something she shouldn’t have in the first place, something she’ll have to betray her murdered best friend and herself to give up.

Auditions Nov. 11th & 12th at 7 pm, at our rehearsal space at Electric Pyramid Studios, 709 Patterson Ave., Winston-Salem, and will consist of readings from the script. No appointment needed.

Performances Jan. 31-Feb. 2 & Feb. 7-9 at the Mountcastle Forum, 251 N. Spruce St. W-S

All roles available! SGTC encourages gender non-conforming, genderqueer, transgender and non-binary actors to audition for all roles. We will also list race/ethnicity when specific to the character but are otherwise seeking all races and ethnicities.

**A Note on Casting: SGTC is seeking an all-female/non-binary cast for this production, to play both men and women. Cast can be as small as 5 but may include more, depending on turnout and the director’s needs.**
