Please don't be fooled by other ads selling transmissions from unknown shops..... DannahShay has been in business for many many years.. we offer a great warranty, awesome service, the highest quality rebuilt transmissions, from ASE Certified Master Technicians and GM Certified Technicians. Some shops are offering a "billet" torque converter which is absolutely not needed in a 6L80 transmission. Shops offering a "billet" torque converter for a 6L80-6l90 obviously do not understand why the transmission fails. Yes the converter is the part that most commonly fails but not because the converter is inferior. The software that controls the torque converter apply allows the torque converter to "slip" continuously which causes premature wear and then causes a metal to metal condition. When the engine is in "4-cylinder" mode the slip speed doubles. Replacing the transmission and torque converter with a quality built unit along with a new GM torque converter, properly flushing and flow checking the cooler(s), filling the transmission with full synthetic Dexron VI fluid and changing the engine and transmission software to correct the causes of the failure will give you a transmission that will most likely be the last transmission you will ever need! Bring us your unmodified 6l80 equipped truck and we will replace the transmission with one our DannahShay built transmissions, install a new GM torque converter, flush and flow check the cooler(s), fill the unit with fluid, provide the needed exhaust seals, transfer case gasket, (if required) replace the rear driveshaft retaining bolts, (if required) install our software in your engine and transmission modules and give you up to a 3 year unlimited miles warranty.
