“I don’t understand. Last checkup, your sciatic nerve pain was 24/7 - and your MRI showed a pinched nerve and terrible spinal health. But now, your x-rays look incredible, and you’re able to move around pain-free - what happened?” My doctor, Dr. George had his face scrunched up in confusion and awe as he poked around my lower back, continuing to fire questions my way. “You’re doing physical therapy and exercise multiple times a week, right?” “No,” I said, “Just some light stretching once a week - if I remember to.” “No sitting down for hours, watching TV right?” He asked. “I actually just started watching a new show, I sit down to watch it every night without any pain, I definitely haven’t kicked that habit,” I said. “So how is your sciatic nerve pain practically gone, and your MRI shows your spine is in near perfect health, when just a few months ago, they were some of the worst I’ve ever seen? Er… no offense.” I laughed off the backhanded compliment - I was feeling far too good about myself to let it get to me. Then I told him about the bizarre circumstances that led to me turning my non-stop, unbearable sciatic nerve pain around… You see, the last visit I had with Dr. George wasn’t so pleasant.
