He has been on the Board for 3 years and has been a strong advocate for academic excellence, improved governance and oversight, and the wise use of taxpayer resources. He currently chairs the District’s Audit &amp; Finance Committee and has been deeply involved in the last 3 budgets, which were among the lowest increase rates in Orange and Rockland counties. His wife and he have 2 children who currently attend TUFSD. His oldest, a proud Tuxedo graduate, just finished up his first year at Purdue University, where he is an aerospace engineering student, which is a testament to TUFSD’s STEM foundation. <br /> <br /> Joe Rickard<br /> Joe has been a strong advocate for the school district as a former school board member and board president. Her extensive experience as a parent, volunteer, and professional makes her a well-rounded candidate for the school board.<br /> <br /> With her background in fundraising and community initiatives like the Pollination Meadow and the &quot;painted rock&quot; initiative, Kelly has demonstrated her ability to mobilize resources and support for educational programs and extracurricular activities. Her successful efforts in raising funds for the PTO and the Spanish class trip to Costa Rica showcase her commitment to enhancing the educational opportunities available to students.<br /> <br /> As a former PTO president and a parent of children in the Tuxedo School system, Kelly has firsthand knowledge of the needs and concerns of students, parents, and educators. Her goal of improving national school rankings through better academic performance, increased after school opportunities, and higher educational standards aligns with the aspirations of many community members. <br /> <br /> Kelly&#039;s calm demeanor and experience as an executive assistant in a high-pressure environment like NYC suggest that she can bring a level-headed approach to the school board, facilitating productive discussions and decision-making processes.
