Title

Austin Gamblers' Urban Cowboy Challenge

Link Description

The inaugural $5,000 Urban Cowboy Mechanical Bull Riding Challenge will take over Bull & Bowl on Sunday, February 4th where fans can try their hand at the toughest sport on dirt.

Open to the public, the Urban Cowboy Challenge will benefit local and regional charities including, Folds of Honor, Western Sports Foundation, Foster Angels of Central Texas, Texas Wildlife Association, CC4C, HeartGift, Nolan Ryan Foundation and SIMS Foundation. Along with the funds raised through donations, Bull & Bowl will donate 100% of food sales during the event to charity.

Registration, along with a practice session, will take place from 1:00-3:00pm, followed by the competition from 3:00-4:00pm.

"THE RULES" & OTHER DETAILS:

Fans of all ages are welcome to attend. The Urban Cowboy Challenge is open to competitors 18+, and the cost for participating is a $98.75 donation to one of the charities listed above, a nod to the all-time high-marked ride record of 98.75 points set by the Gamblers' Jose Vitor Leme.

All participants will compete in Round 1 with the Top 5 longest times advancing to the Championship Round. The winner will then be the individual amongst the Top 5 who stays on the bull the longest.

The winner will receive $2,500, in addition to a $1,000 donation made to a selected charity on their behalf. They will also receive a prize pack including a pair of Tecovas boots and YETI cooler.

The runner-up will win $500, with a $1,000 donation also made to their selected charity. The winner and runner-up will also be recognized at the PBR Velocity Tour event in Cedar Park on Friday, February 9th.

On hand to assist the competitors will be Austin Gamblers Head Coach, the 1997 World Champion, PBR Ring of Honor Inductee and PBR Co-Founder Michael Gaffney.
