Link Description | The 2024 Levitt AMP Ocala Music Series presents Kyshona with opening artist Jenna Clark on Friday, May 10 from 7 – 9 p.m. outside at Webb Field at the Martin Luther King Jr. Recreation Complex. The performance is FREE. Please bring your chairs and blankets. Food is available from local food trucks and dessert brought to you by our sponsor Kona Ice Ocala. Fun field games and activities with the Ocala Recreation and Parks Department along with local non-profit organizations will be present. Each concert in the series also features live painting by local visual artists and a local non-profit organization intermission. This week’s featured non-profit is Fine Arts For Ocala (FAFO). HEADLINING ARTIST: Kyshona Kyshona is not only a talented musical artist and songwriter, but also an activist, music therapist, and community connector. She lends her voice and music to those who feel silenced, forgotten or alone. She blends roots, rock, R&B, and folk genres with lyrical prowess to uplift the marginalized and bring awareness to the masses. Her songs are “…protest music for a new generation, a musical treatment for social ills, a unique prescription that only works if you listen.” Kyshona’s new project LEGACY focuses on family. Through stories, photos, film, ancestry, genealogy research, and travels, Kyshona shares her story while inviting listeners and concert goers to join her in exploration of the self, healing, and growth.
