Beta William rushes through the door, away from the screaming at the Alpha house. Caleb's knees drop to the floor and he growls into his hands. We all just stare at him, unsure what to do next. I take a step towards him.<br /> " Caleb ? " I softly call his name .<br /> "Just go Aida, please!" He whispers into his hands. My heart breaks at being dismissed. To me it was just a cold place with no love or happy memories. Even the memories of mum have disappeared from this place. There are no pictures of her , she has been pushed aside. Now there is just a large canvas of Henri and Saskia on their Alpha and Luna ceremony. It is sickening, it is garish and it is the first thing you see when you walk into the house. Not subtle at all , but then that's Saskia for you . I'll keep her soul intact but I have no qualms in damaging mine. I lunge at her which catches her off guard . I throw punch after punch until I can hear her jaw break. I don't stop , a demon has possessed me and it won't be content until she is dead,killed by my hands. The smell of blood hits my nose as I know I am close to succeeding. I am pulled from her body and thrown into a brick wall which knocks the breath out of my lungs. My brother takes a threatening step towards me and I never contemplated staring death in the eyes,until now. His eyes were dark, cold and soul-less. He is an Alpha that has just watched his Luna being attack, his wolf is out for blood too . A male figure steps in my way, blocking me and the scent reminds me of my father. But he wouldn't protect me, not even against his first born. I hear heavy footsteps approaching and my mind races at the shouting, but I can't seem to concentrate on one word being said. I am pulled up off the ground,my hands clasped behind my back and marched out of the house.<br /> I feel warm hands grab my arms and turn to see Trisha screaming at the warriors.<br /> " No it's meant to be me . "<br /> " You've been excused ! " One of them states to the Beta's mate .<br /> I march in unison with the warriors, the ones trained to protect a pack princess. As we enter the containment building, also known as the pack prison, I hear a number of doors being opened before I am placed into solitary confinement. I feel pack members pushing on my pack link but I block them out as I collapse against the wall. I slide to the floor and hug my arms around my knees for comfort.<br /> Deep down I always knew I was alone.<br /> Caleb tried to resurrect me but I died that day, and should have stayed dead. Mum's life would have brought more joy and I would have been briefly mourned and then only yearly by my loving mother. My life's light was now almost extinguished. I struggle but just about reach over to my bedside table to find my pain relief tablets. I swear I left them here! I search every drawer until I hear a bottle rattling by the door.<br /> " Looking for these ? " Caleb shakes the pot containing all my hope to leave this world.<br /> I place my hand out to him, gesturing for him to give them to me.<br /> " I don't think so ! " I make a last plea .<br /> He shakes his head at me as he closes his eyes as if pained by my request.<br /> We hear a high-pitched scream at the bottom of the stairs and my brother trying to calm down an upset Skylar!<br /> Doesn't this girl know about timings .<br /> "She's out of prison? Why didn't you tell me ? " She shouts at my brother , her Alpha, her brother-in-law.<br /> "Skylar, calm down!"<br /> " He won't be with me , not if she is here !<br /> Where is she?"I hear footsteps coming upstairs. I'm weak but I don't need strength to fall, I slowly stand up and shuffle over to the window . I slide it open and lean my body over but strong arms pull me back and cradle me on the floor.<br /> "No! Stop it!" Caleb's stern voice reaches my head.<br /> She has the nerve to walk into my room,to disturb my only sanctuary. She sneers at me as I am being held on the floor by her mate. The pain is readable in her eyes and my heart actually calls to her, I get it.<br /> I am now the other girl in their relationship.<br /> "What is this?" She pulls the guitar out from behind her back .<br /> " A guitar ! " Caleb responds curtly .<br /> " And this note ? Love always ? He isn't yours to love! Caleb, you are not to see her again ! " She demands .<br /> "You don't get to tell me what to do! Only Friday night you left her alone undressed to be attacked. Then pushed for my Mum to be imprisoned. If there's anyone here I'm not going to give the time of day, it's you!"<br /> "You can't reject me, I won't accept it!"<br /> "There are ways to make you!" He growls at her.<br /> My brother steps forward buffing his chest out and broadening his shoulders.<br /> His Alpha aura circles the room and is solely aimed at Caleb. I feel his body tremble as he fights the command. His neck fighting not to submit. Sweat beads glisten his brow and a whimper escapes his chest.<br /> " Caleb ! Caleb stop ! " I plea through the mind-link.<br /> I can't see him in pain. His neck gives and my brother pulls the command satisfied with his power over the Beta's son .<br /> Skylar holds the guitar up high and slams it to the ground. It's strings break and the wooden body cracks. I saved for months to buy that. I wasn't gifted a huge allowance by my father and brother, so I went without things for a while. To me it was worth it, I'm not a materialist person anyhow. Death does that! You realise you can't take things with you. But I knew the guitar would bring him such joy. If I had the strength I would wipe that smirk off her face.<br /> " Out ! " My brother orders to Caleb .<br /> "And you!" He points to me with utter disdain.<br /> " Downstairs at 10am ! " He commands .<br /> "Alpha, she'll need my help down the stairs!" Beta William interjects as my brother leaves my room. He places a comforting arm around Skylar's shoulders as she leans into him. I feel a mixture of emotions , disbelief , hurt ,jealousy and bitterness.<br /> Caleb picks me up of the floor and gently places me on the bed. He pecks the top of my head and strokes a strand of hair behind my ear.<br /> "I'll come check on you later." He offers as he walks out of the door . My brother's command already trying to control his free will and I can sense Caleb's pain at fighting it. <br /> He doesn't know it yet, but he'll be refused entry into this house as long as I am in it. Which causes an issue for a future Beta. He should have just let me take the pills!<br /> Beta Williams assist me walking down the stairs. Every one of my footsteps is heavy and if he wasn't holding me up , I would be crawling along the floor. We make it to my brother's office downstairs for 10am. As I enter , he doesn't even look up from his paperwork.<br /> " Thank you Beta , you may leave ! " He commands to William. William nervously looks at me before mind-linking me.<br /> " I'll be outside the door . "<br /> I don't sit, I stay standing holding onto the back of the desk chair adjacent to my brother. This used to be father's office. It has a dark navy feature wall and faint grey matching walls. I notice that by the window is another desk with a pink laptop, top of the range. No doubt where Saskia sits pretending to be just as important, just as skilled.<br /> Henri takes a long sip of a cup of coffee before he looks up at me. His eyes are still cold, emotionless. I am no longer his sister, I am the disposable pack member that attacked his precious Luna .<br /> "The punishment for attacking a pack member is quite severe. " He says as he keeps his eyes on me.<br /> "But to attack your Luna, death would be fitting."<br /> I ensure I show no emotion. Joke is on them then, they'll be gifting me my way out.<br /> " But I couldn't do that to father . " He sighs, placing his hands behind his head and leaning into his chair.<br /> "Banishment would therefore be the next option!"<br /> I gulp and no doubt he just heard my heart beat spike slightly at the thought of becoming a rogue. He must have by the slight smirk on his face. My mind quickly looks at all scenarios , perhaps being a rogue wouldn't be such a bad thing. If I could keep to myself, live in a highly populated human area and keep myself locked away during heat, I might just survive.<br /> " If that is what Alpha wishes ! "<br /> " Wishes ? " He slams his palm down on the table. "You have attacked my Luna,what did you think would happen ? "<br /> "However I choose to defend myself, you have already decided my fate. When will I be banished?" |
