Being the crowned Luna of a pack as large as mine came with a lot of expectations, one I didn’t have any problem meeting and the icing on the cake was the fact that I was mated to the son of my father’s best friend, who is also a very powerful Alpha.<br /> <br /> I’ve always loved Kelvin since we were kids, I had the biggest crush on him for years, one which he shockingly reciprocated, and since we’ve been best friends since I could remember, it didn’t take long for us to get mated to each other.<br /> <br /> Our fifth year anniversary is coming up and I couldn’t wait for it to finally get here. Discovering that I was pregnant a week ago brought me immense joy, a news which I decided to keep a secret from my mate until our anniversary day.<br /> <br /> As usual, I was already worked up from wanting everything to work out perfectly on the anniversary date, due to the perfectionist streak in me. Weirdly enough, for days now, I’ve been unable to shake off the nagging feeling that something somewhere feels terribly wrong.<br /> <br /> With a sigh, I closed the book I’ve been trying to read for the past hour and made my way out of my office. I exchanged a few words with a few members of the pack before making my way home. I wasn’t supposed to be home until nighttime but the meeting which was supposed to happen got rescheduled.<br /> <br /> I got into the house and made my way into the bedroom, and in there, I witnessed the most shocking thing ever.<br /> <br /> The sight seemed unreal to me but after blinking a few times, I realised that I wasn’t hallucinating, and at once, the weird, pulsating feeling in my chest grew in size, shooting a sharp pain throughout my entire body and found it difficult to breathe for a few seconds.<br /> <br /> Kelvin was having affair with Kira– my youngest sister whom I cherished so much.<br /> <br /> I held my chest as I banged on the opened door, roughly announcing my presence and the moment Kelvin saw me, he jumped and untangled himself from her at once.<br /> <br /> “W… what… is going on here?” I demanded in disbelief, voice shaking with the shock still coursing through my veins.<br /> <br /> How could Kelvin do this to me? Especially with my youngest sister?<br /> <br /> “Look, Kira…. Amanda,” he stuttered, clearly trying to explain while Kira scrambled to get dressed. Kelvin got up and hurriedly shrugged into his pants, and then he began to make his way towards me, but each step he took towards me made me take one back.<br /> <br /> He extended his hand to touch me but I held a hand up in disgust. “Don’t you dare touch me, Kelvin.” I glanced at my sister and then back to my mate. “I just saw you having an affair with my younger sister and you have the audacity to try to touch me? Are you insane?”<br /> <br /> “It’s not what you think,” he explained frantically, looking extremely panicked, but each word that rolled out of his tongue caused me even more pain.<br /> <br /> “It’s not what I think?” I exclaimed on a bitter laugh, with my lips slightly quivering as I held onto the door for support. I was perspiring and my head hurts as I listened on with my head spinning as Kelvin claimed that my sister had seduced him.<br /> <br /> “You’re such a pathetic liar,” Kira spat, “He drugged me and forced me to sleep with him, I’d never seduce him! ” Kira argued.<br /> <br /> Paying them no heed, I held my head as I walked out of the room, it was starting to get too choking for me, another moment in the room and I might pass out.<br /> <br /> Kelvin and Kira followed me as they both took turns in giving me different narratives of how they both ended up in the same bed.<br /> <br /> Listening to them right now was almost comical.<br /> <br /> Rushing into the spare bedroom, I slammed the door in their faces and locked it so they would be unable to get in, and then I ran my fingers through my hair in distress before slowly sliding down the door as pain engulfed me once again in a larger fold.<br /> <br /> There was no way I would be able to recover from a betrayal as brutal as this one. The stinging feeling in my eyes indicated that I was about to cry, and I hated myself for that because tears indicated nothing but weakness.<br /> <br /> I slapped my palm over my mouth and screamed into it, with my body shaking from the force of the tears pouring down my cheeks.<br /> <br /> I loved Kelvin so much. I’ve always loved him and I couldn’t bring myself to consider leaving him, seeing as that would only hurt my wolf and the fact that I was also pregnant.<br /> <br /> One thing was certain and it was that I’d never be able to look at him the same way again.<br /> <br /> I knew there was no way I could stare at Kelvin without the image of him doing Kira popping up in my head.<br /> <br /> Being the kind of woman that I am– a Luna and the most respected woman in the pack along with being placed on a pedestal of high expectations by almost every other woman here in the pack who looked up to me— what would they say if I break things up with my mate? What kind of example would I be setting up for them?<br /> <br /> Kelvin and I are the IT couple of the pack. Everyone prayed to the moon goddess to give them a bond like the one Kelvin and I shared. Severing the mate bond with Kelvin would not only paint me up in a look, it would also lead to me being the butt of so many people’s gossip, and then I wouldn’t be feared and well respected like I currently am. That’s the last thing I want for myself right now.<br /> <br /> With a long, resigned sigh, I cleaned my tears and slowly got to my feet.<br /> <br /> Whatever happens next, I’m going to have to deal with the fact that my mate cheated on me with my sister, and I wouldn’t be able to do a thing about it.<br /> <br /> I’ve decided to live with the pain but there was no way I would be able to associate him with things I used to before. He wasn’t the loving mate I knew anymore, he wasn’t my best friend and the man I had a crush on for years anymore.<br /> <br /> I now see him as a cheat, one who couldn’t even take his infidelity somewhere else and had to do it with my sister!<br /> <br /> As the days passed, I avoided Kelvin at all cost and whenever he tried to talk about the incident, I would occasionally shun him and tell him to leave me be.<br /> <br /> The memory was still fresh in my heart and talking about it would only open up my wounds. He tried countless times to apologise but I refused to indulge him because an apology wouldn’t heal the wound he had inflicted in my heart.<br /> <br /> I could’ve easily forgiven him for a lot of things, but cheating on me with my youngest sister was where I drew the line.<br /> <br /> “I’m sorry, I don’t know how it happened, I wasn’t in my right frame of mind and I didn’t know how…” once again, he was attempting to apologise to me. One would think he’d never be able to do something like that to me with how earnest he looked right now. I stomped my palm on the table in irritation and glared at him.<br /> <br /> “We’re not going to talk about what happened or how it happened.” I said firmly. “You had an affair with my sister, what does she look like to you? You thought she was me? I don’t think so!” I yelled. “Who knows how long this has been happening, or the other girls in this pack you’ve been doing behind my back, you cheater.”<br /> <br /> Not waiting for a response, I hastiky walked out of the sitting room after that and made my way to the spare room which I had now made into my bedroom, in order to lay on the bed to cry once again.<br /> <br /> It seemed as though all I’ve been doing ever since that horrible incident was crying my eyes out and then the next day, pretend like everything was fine with me.<br /> <br /> Later at night, I made my way to the sitting room and there, I found my mate, my sister and my parents. I had no idea why they didn’t chastise or punish her for doing bad with her sister&#039;s mate after I broke the news to them.<br /> <br /> “I’m sorry.” She apologized when I turned to leave and her voice made me stop in my tracks as I turned to look at her.<br /> <br /> My vision was blurry due to the tears that were welling up in my eyes and the sight of Kira only disgusted me even more.<br /> <br /> “You’re sorry? You’re sorry for sleeping with my mate after five years of us being together, Kira?” I demanded and she opened her mouth to speak but nothing came out.<br /> <br /> Exactly what I thought.<br /> <br /> “Hunny… she’s sorry,” My mother spoke up and my eyes darted at her in disbelief, “she has been feeling remorseful and you should at least be able to forgive her for that.” She added and my mouth dropped open in shock.<br /> <br /> “There’s no sign of any remorse, look at her!” I shot at my mother and my father stood up, and at once, I knew he also wanted to take her side.<br /> <br /> “She’s just a child, she makes mistakes and no one including you is above mistakes,” he started, talking authoritatively with his familiar, calming voice.<br /> <br /> Without saying another word, I stomped out of the house in anger and all efforts to stop me proved futile.<br /> <br /> I tried to live with every stabbing pain I felt inside me the following days when my mate came to have a word with me a day to our anniversary. Said anniversary which I wasn’t looking forward to any longer<br /> <br /> “Please sit,” he offered, pulling out a chair for me and I took his invitation as I sat down because I felt too weak to argue, “We need to talk.” He added and I rolled my eyes before raising a brow at him, probing him to say whatever he wanted to say.<br /> <br /> “I understand if you don’t want to be mated to me,” he started and my eyes shot at him, “I’m ready to be mated with your sister since we both like each other already.” He finished and I couldn’t believe what I’d just heard.<br /> <br /> He just said he doesn’t mind being mated to my sister?!<br /> <br /> My heart aches and it seemed as though I’d heard wrong, I stared at him and he looked very serious, proving that he really meant it.<br /> <br /> “Do whatever you want!” I said through gritted teeth as I forced myself to hold my tears back before storming out.<br /> <br /> Later that midnight, I felt a stabbing pain in my heart and that was no other sign than my mate meeting someone else who was undoubtedly my sister.<br /> <br /> Heartbroken and defeated, I held my chest as I cried myself through the night.<br /> <br /> Amanda’s POV<br /> <br /> The day of the anniversary arrived and I couldn’t have been any more hurt. My chest tightened at the thought of seeing my mate again and my stomach churned each time I remembered he was having initmacy with my sister last night.<br /> <br /> Getting ready for the celebration of the anniversary, I felt a stabbing pain in my chest as I held onto the chair in front of me for support.<br /> <br /> Kelvin was busy with my sister on the very morning of our anniversary, the slimy devil. I shook the pain off because breaking down in front of everyone is not my forte.<br /> <br /> I hid my pain behind a fake bravado and I put up a font and smiled to the faces of everyone who came to congratulate me, because I couldn’t let them see me hurting. I received a lot of gifts from so many well wishers as usual. <br /> <br /> I knew they had a question about why my mate was nowhere around me like he’d have been on a normal day but they all bit their tongue and resisted the urge to ask until one of them spoke up.<br /> <br /> “Where’s your mate? He needs to be here with you since it’s your anniversary.” An older woman said as she patted my cheek fondly and I only smiled.<br /> <br /> “He has to be somewhere for a meeting hence the reason he’s not here but he’ll be soon.” I answered jovially and everyone chuckled.<br /> <br /> The celebration went on and I kept getting gifts as a lot of our pack members celebrated my anniversary with me. It was already starting to get weird that my mate was still absent. The party which I had planned for weeks made me feel nauseous and I wished I could suddenly ask everyone to go home.<br /> <br /> Sometimes later, I looked ahead of me to see Kelvin waltzing in, and as much as I tried to ignore the pain, I was hurt.<br /> <br /> Doing my sister made him come to our anniversary ceremony late.<br /> <br /> “You don’t have to make it so obvious that you’re being unfaithful to me just yet,” I said quietly through gritted teeth before smiling to the people in front of me.<br /> <br /> “An humiliation like that is one that I can’t bear,” I added, “why are you late? Couldn’t she wait for you to get back before y’all decided to go at it again??” I whispered and Kelvin cleared his throat while smiling at a few people who were staring at us with adoration, and I made sure to keep my smile on.<br /> <br /> Kelvin took my hand and led me to the dance floor. I never wanted him to touch me again, nor do I want to dance, but I couldn’t afford to pull away from him in front of people. The crowd cheered eagerly as Kelvin’s arms settled around my waist as we began to move to the music. Everyone was obviously happy for us but I couldn’t help but think, if only they knew.<br /> <br /> “I’m sorry.” He apologised on a whisper as I felt his cold hand tightening on my waist and that sent a small shiver down my spine, my body for still reacting to his touches.<br /> <br /> “Don’t apologise,” I growled, “we’ll break the mating bond once I’m ready but for now, we need to put up a font. They don’t need to see what has been going on between us.” I added firmly and he nodded in understanding, lips pursed.<br /> <br /> After some hours, we both left the ceremony with people hooting at us and wagging their eyebrows suggestively. I yanked my hand from his and firmly told him to leave me alone once we were in the privacy of our home. His face is the last thing I really wanted to see right now.<br /> <br /> “Amanda,” he called and my head spun, “I still love you.” He added and my eyes fell shut in frustration as I turned to look at him.<br /> <br /> “You still love me? You were meeting my sister hours ago and you have the nerve to tell me you love me?” I demanded, doing little to hide my hurt.<br /> <br /> “I do, I really do but if I’m being honest with you, you pushed me away. You forced my hand and made me do these things that I didn’t think I would ever do!” He shot back at me.<br /> <br /> It seemed as though my hands had a mind of their own because they sprung up and landed on his cheeks so hard that even he was taken aback by my action.<br /> <br /> “How dare you?” He seethed with his eyes blazing in anger as he trailed his fingers across his cheeks, “Oh, Amanda I’ll definitely make you pay for this!” He added before storming out of the room but turned so he could have the last words.<br /> <br /> “I’ll make sure you won’t be able to get over the excruciating pain of me doing someone else tonight.” He added and my chest clenched.<br /> <br /> The pain in my heart was unbearable but I was not about to allow him to see me in my most vulnerable state. Turning to face him, I stood in front of him as if daring him to do what he just said.<br /> <br /> I’d been tempted to tell him about my pregnancy but after what had just happened, I held myself back and decided against it. He isn’t worth knowing about it at all.<br /> <br /> “My father and his Luna are throwing a party for us this evening, don’t be late.” I said before turning to leave him.<br /> <br /> I couldn’t miss the surprised look on his face and I just knew that he was expecting me to cry and seek comfort in his embrace while begging him not to have someone else, but he should’ve known better.<br /> <br /> The day went by quickly and it was almost time for the party my parents had thrown, I bit on my nails nervously as my chest clenched.<br /> <br /> Is he going to be late tonight too? What if he doesn’t show up? Then people would know something was going on between us.<br /> <br /> His voice put a halt to all of the thoughts running through my mind and I couldn’t help but be relieved when I saw him. I wasn’t happy because he was here, I was happy because the humiliation tonight of going to the party alone wouldn’t happen.<br /> <br /> “Let’s go.” He said and I took his arm as we both made our way to the luxurious party my parents had thrown.<br /> <br /> Everyone congratulated us and even gave us more gifts. I put up the most perfect font, hanging over Kelvin and laughing every now and them in order to deceive everyone perfectly.<br /> <br /> My parents are extremely wealthy and a party like this one came like a piece of cake to them. Kelvin and I walked around as we thanked everyone for showing up.<br /> <br /> I was making sure my smile brightened up the room while my heart was dark inside. I’d lost my light and I had no idea when I was going to find it back but I’m not about to let that get in the way.<br /> <br /> Kelvin had his arms wrapped around my waist as we both walked around the room gracefully, he would occasionally turn me around to face him while he planted a kiss on my lips, playing his part perfectly.<br /> <br /> Everyone wished they could be like us and Kelvin had no problem putting up a font in the presence of these many people. His hand clung to my waist while the other held my face up as he tucked a chunk of my hair behind my ear. He looked at me so lovingly that If I didn’t know better I would’ve been convinced that he really loved me.<br /> <br /> Has it always been a font to him? All these years of being together, has he just been acting?<br /> <br /> Despite it all being a font, my wolf and I couldn’t help but still seek comfort in our mate’s embrace since we still shared a bond after all.<br /> <br /> The party was soon over and we made our way back home quietly, and i didn’t stop him when he left almost immediately, undoubtedly to go be with my sister.<br /> <br /> The pain I felt tonight was out of this world, probably because this was the day my wolf carved for the mating bite the most of all days. I tossed and turned on my bed as the stabbing in my chest began, clutching it and perspiring, I breathed into the pillow as I cried myself to sleep.<br /> <br /> ********<br /> <br /> The anniversary was over and it was almost as though I was all alone. Finally getting the courage to confide in my best friend, I decided to explain everything to her.<br /> <br /> “I am so sorry that you had to go through something like this and that too, alone?!” Angel said, I could hear the pity in her voice but it cleared almost immediately.<br /> <br /> She knew me too well to pity me, pity was one of the reasons I went through my hard times alone. I hated it when people pitied me and Angel seemed to understand because she didn’t say another word and instead took to patting my back as I hugged her.<br /> <br /> “But what if you plead with him to leave Kira and come back to you?” She advised and I knew she meant well but I couldn’t help but get mad.<br /> <br /> “Plead?!” I barked and Angel signalled for me to calm down while she explained.<br /> <br /> “Yes and before you chop my head off I’m only saying this because it seems like it’s the only reasonable thing to do,” she started and I listened with keen interest.<br /> <br /> “That way, you or your wolf wouldn’t get hurt anytime he had something with another woman that’s not you and asides that, breaking a mating bond when you know everyone in the whole pack looks up to you and they also shipped you and Kelvin, that would be disappointing to them and humiliating to you.” She explained and I couldn’t help but agree with her.<br /> <br /> Breaking the mating bond would lead to a lot of humiliation, one I’m not ready to face. Angel and I spoke for a while and I’d told her I was going to think about it.<br /> <br /> No matter how hard I tried, I couldn’t shake Angel&#039;s advice from my head. It&#039;s been days and I still haven’t decided on what to do next yet.<br /> <br /> Finally making up my mind and out of desperation, I decided that I was going to go and see Kelvin. I’m going to plead with him to come back to me.<br /> <br /> Doing that, I went to Kelvin but I faced the highest form of embarrassment when he laughed and scowled at me.<br /> <br /> “You really think I would want to come back to you?” He asked and my lips quivered, this was a bad idea. I shouldn’t have agreed to begging him.<br /> <br /> “What do you mean?” I found myself asking with my voice shaky and threatening to break if I said another word.<br /> <br /> “You’re no longer a fresh fruit, Amanda. You’re boring and you’ve let go of yourself that you’ve become so ugly, I can’t even stand you!” He spat and my jaw dropped.<br /> <br /> Kelvin dared to call me ugly when he was the reason I looked like this, he’d told me I dressed lewd and sluttily, and in order to keep him, I decided to do as he says because he’s a possessive wolf and now he dares call me ugly?!<br /> <br /> It took me so long to finally swallow my pride and come to him, to get down to his level and this is what he had to say to me? I couldn’t believe my ears as I stared at him.<br /> <br /> Amanda’s POV<br /> <br /> Angry, my feet padded around my room as I paced. I was furious and my blood boiled. How dare Kelvin treat me like that and say all those things to me?<br /> <br /> My head spun as I paced around before finally deciding to go and see my parents in my furious state.<br /> <br /> I got to them and I was met with the most unexpected question, how did they know about these things?<br /> <br /> “What is the matter with you?!” My father yelled as he stood to face me and I was confused. I haven’t even said what I wanted to say to him but he’s angry already.<br /> <br /> “What is the matter with me?” I asked, repeating his question after him and probing him to go further as I had no idea what he was talking about.<br /> <br /> “Yes, because why on earth would you brashly come to the conclusion of breaking things off with your mate,” my father shot back at me.<br /> <br /> “And not only that, you had the nerve to force him to be mated to your sister!” My mother butted in as she stood and made her way to stand beside her own mate.<br /> <br /> It felt as though I was hearing things, I couldn’t believe my ears and with my parents accusing me this way I just knew that I wasn’t just hearing things, it was really happening.<br /> <br /> Did Kelvin come over here to report me to them?<br /> <br /> “What are you guys talking about? Who told you these things?” I demanded and my father explained to me that Kelvin had come to them.<br /> <br /> “He said you were not interested in being his mate anymore and you even gave him the go ahead to ask that your little sister replace you!” My father growled.<br /> <br /> His voice hit me like a cannonball, everything they said wasn&#039;t true. Even though I had indeed told Kelvin that I was no longer interested in being his mate anymore, I still remembered swallowing my pride and went to him.<br /> <br /> Did he miss the part where I literally went to beg him to leave Kira and come to me.<br /> <br /> He scowled at me, treated me like I was nothing and he had the nerve to come to my parents and say these things about me?<br /> <br /> “I have no idea what you’re talking about,” I denied, “I didn’t tell him I was no longer interested in being his mate anymore!” I added firmly as I searched my fathers eyes for answers I had no idea I was looking for.<br /> <br /> “Liar,” Kira scowled as she stood, she had the nerve to call me a liar when she was the one sleeping with my mate behind my back.<br /> <br /> The audacity everyone in front of me had didn’t stop being amazing to me as they all acted like they were perfect when it was their fault that I&#039;m going through this right now .<br /> <br /> “Stop being such a pathetic liar, that won’t help you,” Kira added and I could feel my cheeks burning in anger, “you told him you don’t want him anymore, admit it and stop being a….” She was still talking when I slapped her so hard across her face.<br /> <br /> My parents mouth opened wide as they stared at me, my breathing paced, it was faster than I intended it to be and just then Kelvin walked in.<br /> <br /> “What is wrong with you?!” He yelled and I scoffed. They made me into this and they still ask what was wrong with me. I watched in anger as Kelvin scooped Kira into his arms.<br /> <br /> All of them knew what’s wrong with me, especially Kelvin, the hatred I felt for him was out of the world as I watched him hold my sister as she cried in his arms.<br /> <br /> “Stop being so indecisive and make up your mind instead of going back and forth and getting us dragged into a mess we don’t want to be in.” He continued as he held Kira’s petite form against his chest.<br /> <br /> Kelvin walked to my father and his voice suddenly went low as he started talking. My head hurts from hearing his voice and the lies he spewed about me.<br /> <br /> “It’s obvious she doesn’t want me anymore, she demanded that we break the mating bond and ask that I get mated to Kira instead.” He explained and I couldn’t believe what I was hearing.<br /> <br /> How dare he? How dare he lie right to their faces and how dare they believe him?<br /> <br /> “He just said it all, Amanda. What now would you like to say for yourself since you keep denying saying anything like this,” my father started and my eyes darted to him, “WHAT DO YOU HAVE TO SAY?!” My father’s yell jolted me out of my thoughts.<br /> <br /> Scoffing as I looked at each and everyone of them, they’re not about to make me say things I can’t take back. I’m not going to stand here and watch them waste my precious time.<br /> <br /> “You know what, Kelvin?” I muttered but was loud enough to make sure they all hear me, “you and Kira can go!” I yelled before storming out of there.<br /> <br /> I angrily walked back to my house, I was hurt and neither of my parents wanted to hear my side of the story before siding with Kelvin and Kira.<br /> <br /> Kelvin didn’t come home and my heart ached as I cried myself to sleep. I knew I&#039;d lost my mate already but it still hurts.<br /> <br /> ****<br /> <br /> The night went by quickly and it was almost as though the moon goddess didn&#039;t want me dwelling on my pain as the night passed.<br /> <br /> I tried to make my morning eventful but nothing I tried worked until my immediate younger sister, Mara, came to see me.<br /> <br /> I couldn’t hide the joy in my heart when I saw her, I sprinted to her direction with a weak smile and threw myself at her in a hug.<br /> <br /> She didn’t say anything as she patted my back and stroked my hair gently. After a while of staying in her embrace, I led her to one of the couches and we both sat.<br /> <br /> “What’s going on?” Mara asked softly and I couldn’t help but break down in tears in front of her. She’d told me I didn’t need to talk about it but I insisted.<br /> <br /> Letting me cry to my satisfaction, she sat with me and listened with keen interest as I explained my plight to her. I told her about everything that had been going on with Kelvin, Kira and my Parents.<br /> <br /> Although, I omitted some parts of the story, one which included me being pregnant with Kelvin&#039;s baby. I didn’t want to talk about it with anyone yet and she doesn’t need to know about it just yet.<br /> <br /> Mara sympathised with me as she rubbed my palm in a bid to comfort me. I couldn’t be more grateful to have her here with me.<br /> <br /> “I came here to tell you that Kelvin is already pushing through with getting mated to Kira, he’s asking us for permission,” she started and my head sprung up as I stared at her with teary eyes.<br /> <br /> “He’ll be breaking the mating bond really soon and he’d even said that you approved of this, he said you gave them your blessings so they can go ahead with it.” She added and my mouth dropped open.<br /> <br /> “What?” I said in a low tone, I couldn’t believe that they would come up with a lie like this against me.<br /> <br /> “Listen, Amanda. He said you pushed him to Kira. You know you can talk to me, tell me everything.” She demanded and my stomach churned.<br /> <br /> I knew she had my best interest at heart but I still feel as though she didn’t believe me. She probably also believed the fact that Kelvin said I pushed him towards Kira.<br /> <br /> Furious, I stood to my feet as I turned my back to my sister, “Kelvin and Kira are such shameless liars.” I said as I covered my mouth with my palm and sobbed.<br /> <br /> Mara stood and held me, making me turn to face her. The pity in her eyes was one I couldn’t miss but like every other person that knew I hated being pitied, she smiled at me.<br /> <br /> “I’ll make sure I talk to Kira, she needs to come back to her senses, I can’t just sit back and watch all of this madness unfold.” Mara said, promising to help me talk to Kira.<br /> <br /> “No, please don’t,” I said, stopping her, “I don’t feel anything for him anymore, I don’t even want him as my mate anymore.” I added.<br /> <br /> Mara stared at me for a while before agreeing to do things my way, she hugged me and after a while, she left as she promised to come check on me from time to time.<br /> <br /> I smiled sadly as I watched my sister leave and I resumed pacing about the house. I couldn’t believe that Kelvin would actually go through with getting mated to my sister.<br /> <br /> I went about my business as I tried to get my mind off the drama unfolding in my household. I needed something that would serve as a distraction for me.<br /> <br /> The day kept going by fast and soon night came, I stayed in the sitting room when Kelvin came home reeking of my younger sister.<br /> <br /> It was easy to tell that they’d spent the entire day and the previous night together and not only that, they also had something. Standing up, I walked to face Kelvin.<br /> <br /> “How dare you?” I demanded and he raised an eyebrow as if he had no idea what I was talking about, “how dare you say those things to my parents?” I added.<br /> <br /> “I never knew you were this much of a liar, how could you tell such a lie to my parents and make me look like I was the one cheating on the mating bond?!” I yelled when he didn’t say a word.<br /> <br /> I was going crazy, everything was driving me crazy and the fact that I would spend the night with this same man got me so angry.<br /> <br /> Kelvin stuck with his story of me being the one who’d pushed his hand and made him cheat on our bond.<br /> <br /> Angry, I went into my new bedroom and tried to sleep when Kelvin came in and attempted to touch me. I made sure I imprinted my palm on his face before throwing him out of the room.<br /> <br /> The pain that visited me that night was excruciating and I held my chest as I cried myself to sleep once again.<br /> <br /> Somehow, that has become my new routine.
