| Body | We are getting closer to summertime and the 2nd Annual Maggie Valley Fly Fishing & Outdoor Festival June 15th & 16th (Father’s Day Weekend) here in beautiful Maggie Valley, North Carolina. There are so many outdoor activities close to Maggie Valley such as the Blue Ridge Parkway, which is roughly 12 minutes away, we have Scenic Tours & Rentals if you wanna explore this area and get “off road”.Cataloochee Ranch is a nice drive to see the elk and explore nature trails. And yeah, there is some of the very best fly fishing in the nation all around us. This year’s festival has over 80 vendors right now and growing from outdoor recreational vendors , fly tyers from all over the nation, to Josh Miller & Julie Mattson who will be offering fly fishing clinics (Fee) to those who want to learn one of the best techniques in fly fishing from two of the very best. I’m sure Josh will be bringing his new book and you’ll be able to get a book signed as well. Our Casting Contest rules and regulations will be up soon on our festival website. This year’s winners will walk away with a Winston 7wt & a Hardy Marksman 4wt. There will be prizes for both divisions and a kids casting contest with prizes as well. The food vendors are off the charts with some of the very best food and treats imaginable. We have also added a total of 20 Fly Fishing Gear / Guided Trip Packages (10) drawings on Saturday & (10) drawings on Sunday. Each fly fishing package is $1500.00 and many include: Hardy and Winston Rods in them. Haywood Waterways will be doing Aquatic Workshops each day in nearby Jonathan Creek. There is a kids play area with inflatables free for the kids to go crazy on. And very important! All first responders and anyone who is currently on a medical staff is free to attend this year’s event. We also have Dads on the Fly Podcast & Mending on the Fly Podcast at this year’s event.
