Locally owned <a href="https://www.facebook.com/GulfCoastSeafoodFlorida">Gulf Coast Seafood Florida</a> in Gulfport! Anyone familiar? If you live near St Petersburg, here’s a fantastic spot to buy your seafood. Fresh, delicious, large selection, plus a very knowledgeable and helpful team. With a 4.8/5 star Google average and hundreds of reviews, this family owned seafood market is loved by locals, including our family. An elderly snowbird even enlisted me at 14 yrs old to be his “charter captain”. We made a great team, as he couldn’t drive the boat, and I couldn’t drive the truck. He even let me keep his boat during the summers to use while he was in Ohio!<br /> <br /> Unfortunately, I don’t fish as much these days, so it’s been great having Gulf Coast Seafood nearby. They receive new seafood daily because they wholesale in so much volume. A win for us retail customers!<br /> <br /> This is a family business, started in 1978 when John &amp; Carol Merkle dreamed of selling seafood. “With the help of our parents we started a small retail store in St. Pete.” While they sold their original retail store to begin wholesaling, they’ve come full circle with this retail store in Gulfport!<br /> <br /> Your purchases are wrapped in watertight bags that prevent leaks and also freezer burn if you decide to freeze. Ice is provided as needed.<br /> <br /> You’ll find all types of seafood, beef, plus wine, beer, free recipe cards, spices and other supplies you’ll need for cooking!<br /> <br /> Gulf Coast Seafood’s customer base includes “a wide variety of high profile customers, including Fine Restaurants, Theme Parks, Grocery Stores, and Full Line Distributors.”<br /> <br /> While I posted them in 2021 and rarely repeat (other than parks and holiday favorites), glad to be giving Gulf Coast Seafood another shout out, as LSP has 40K more followers on social media now.
