Body | 1999 Chevrolet Corvette Convertible 2D - $12,995.00

Description:
CAR BEING SOLD ON EBAY. THIS LISTING IS SIMPLY TO PROMOTE THAT AUCTION.

https://www.ebay.com/itm/266775052104

OR, GO TO EBAY AND SEARCH FOR ITEM #266775052104

DO NOT ASK "IS THIS STILL AVAILABLE". READ THE LISTING, THEN ASK A REAL QUESTION. IF IT'S LISTED HERE, ITS AVAILABLE. ALL "IS THIS STILL AVAILABLE" ONE CLICK REPSONSES WILL NOT BE ANSWEREED.

CAR LISTED WITH NO RESERVE ON EBAY AND WILL BE SOLD VIA THAT LISTING. PLEASE FEEL FREE TO PARTICIPATE IN THAT AUCTION. COPY AND PASTE LINK ABOVE.

FEEL FREE TO MAKE AN OFFER OUTSIDE OF THE EBAY LISTING, HOWEVER, BE SURE TO READ THE EBAY LISTING AS IT CONTAINS THE MOST UP TO DATE INFORMATION.

READ EBAY LISTING IN ITS ENTIRETY SO YOU ARE FULLY AWARE OF WHAT YOU ARE BUYING). See end of comments for YOUTUBE VIDEO LINK

THIS IS AN AS-IS SALE OF 1999 CHEVROLET CORVETTE CONVERTIBLE.

BELOW IS COPY AND PASTED FROM EBAY LISTING FOR YOUR REFERENCE.

NO RESERVE AUCTION!!!

VERY IMPORTANT. READ LISTING IN ITS ENTIRETY. I KNOW IT'S LONG, BUT WANT TO BE FULLY TRANSPARENT WITH FULL DISCLOSURE. If you’re serious about buying, then you’ll appreciate the details.

With no reserve, it is priced to move quickly in an AS-IS sale.

PLEASE ONLY BID IF YOU PLAN TO FOLLOW THROUGH WITH THE PURCHASE OF THIS VEHICLE IF YOU WIN THE AUCTION. EBAY IS NOT A GAME. AFTER YEARS OF SUCCESS ON EBAY, TOO MANY FAILED AUCTIONS LATELY AS A RESULT OF PEOPLE BIDDING WITH NO INTENTION TO PURCHASE. PLEASE SHOW A LITTLE RESPECT AS IT IS COSTLY FOR SELLERS. PLEASE READ LISTING OF THIS "AS-IS" SALE. THANK YOU.

NOTE: Initial listing may have a low reserve set, simply to gauge interest. Ebay can be hit and miss. If for some unlikely reason, there is no real activity on the listing, it may be removed. Otherwise, as long as there are bids on the car to gauge interest and value, the reserve price will be removed a day or two before the listing ends. So place your bids to convince me that Ebay is the right place to sell this car and that there’s enough interest to gauge its true market value. Bid as if there is no reserve and ignore the notice when it says reserve not met.

Another great vehicle that will likely sell well below wholesale book value ($10,295 per KBB)

I am not a dealer, however, we do have a towing company and therefore come across a lot of Lien Sale vehicles. Most that we get are junkers that we sell at a weekly auction for under $2,000. However, of the cars that come available, we do cherry pick the nicer cars and offer them publicly. If you’ve seen any of my past listings, most go out at very low price points, well below Kelly Blue Book wholesale (trade-in) value. We are more interested in a quick sale than holding out for a few extra dollars.

Here, we have a 1999 Chevrolet Corvette Convertible with 110,399 miles.

While lien sale cars are rarely perfect. This one isn’t perfect either, but certainly well better than average in its appearance.

The body, other than some modest scratches and a more notable scrape on the rocker panel below the driver door, is straight. Paint still has some shine to it. There are however, some chips in the paint around the license plate and air inducts on the front bumper cover. They appear to have been touched up.

Car appears to have been well cared for and well-maintained per its Carfax history report (available upon request).

It started its life off in Texas and remained there for the first 11 1/2 years. The first owner apparently traded in the car just 6 months after purchasing it with 9,670 miles on the odometer. The second owner kept the for 11 years and sold it with 29,393 miles on it. The third owner purchased the car in 2011 and moved it California, where it’s been ever since, thus has been in a favorable southern environment its entire life. The third owner kept the car until selling in 2016 with around 67,000 miles on it. The last owner retained the vehicle until the Lien Sale in 2022.

Tires have good tread on them with a reasonably recent date code from 2019.

With lien sales, we do have to hang onto cars for approximately 1-2 years before they clear all liens and are available to be sold. The Carfax report reflects that the car was last serviced at 104,000 miles in 2021. There are no error codes or warnings on the dash.

Per the Carfax maintenance report, the brakes were also replaced at the same time, thus have just over 6,000 miles on them.

The car fires right up and runs great.

As with any of our lien sale cars, we do recommend that the new owner take them in for service as most have been sitting for a year or two. This one was serviced just 6,000 miles ago, but was serviced three years ago.

With the top down, this car looks amazing. Other than the few chips or scrapes in the paint, it shows no excess wear. The interior has tan leather. For 110,000 miles, the seats look amazing with no excess wear. Not even creases in the leather. Almost as if possibly they were replaced at some point fairly recently? No excess war on the touch points of the car (buttons, etc). Carpet shows a little bit of wear, but nothing excessive.

The ragtop cloth convertible however, does show some age with some minor tears around the metal support braces below. Primarily on the sides. Shopping around, appears that replacements can be had for around $400 +/- if you shop around. The window tint on the convertible top window is peeling and bubbling, however, would be replaced if buyer chooses to replace the top. Otherwise, if keeping the top, need to retint the rear window, or simply remove the window tint. It’s a CONVERTIBLE, who drives these things with the top up? Car looks great with the top down!!

The car does appear to have some electrical gremlins. It is noted that the radio was switched out with a larger screen Alpine radio. Appears this change was probably made more than 10 years ago as it does not appear to be a recent modern unit.

I’ve personally owned several C5’s in the past a know that they can be quite sensitive to changing anything related to the electronics. Such changes can lead to other issues. I don’t know if that’s the case here, but it’s possible that could have something to do with it?

Car also randomly honks in reverse. Could be related to the radio issue as it appears that a backup camera was installed. Possible some sensors were installed as well and honking the horn is its way of warning the driver that you’re getting close to an object? Just a wild guess.

NOTABLE PROBLEMS OR AREAS THAT NEED ATTENTION, AS DETERMINED BY THE SELLERS PERSONAL WALK-AROUND AND TEST DRIVE OF THE VEHICLE INCLUDE, BUT MAY NOT BE LIMITED TO:

Chipped paint around front license plate and air inlets.
Scrape in rocker panel below driver door.
Other smaller scratches and/or chips noted.
Hood shocks need to be replaced.
Convertible tonneau cover shocks need to be replaced.
While all of the gauges appear to work, buttons to scroll through the menu do not respond.
Car randomly honks on occasion when backing up. Again, could be related to radio install. (see notes above)
Left front headlight does not pop up.
Right front headlight pops up, but does not come on (could just need a bulb)
Automatic AC control panel does not appear to be working. Not able to turn on the heat or AC. (could be radio related).
Windshield is cracked from the bottom to the top.
Left front driver window has a very small chip on the very edge of it. Not sure it makes any difference with anything. Hardly noticeable.
Convertible cloth top has some extra wear points around the metal framing behind.
Window tint on rear window of convertible top is peeled and bubbling (would be part of the top replacement).

Having viewed many of these cars, this is certainly one of the cleaner such cars I’ve come across, especially for 25 year old car with 110,000 miles. Car fires up just as good as a new one. Seats look like they could be newer.

For this to be a really premium example, it doesn’t need much. Fix the couple of electrical bugs that appear to be impacting some of the AC and dash controls. Some touch up paint in a few spots and it will look pretty nice.

The more pressing issues are the headlights, which can be found used on Ebay and replacement of the windshield as the crack is directly in front of the driver. With just those to fixed and the top down on a sunny day drive, the car would a pure joy.

PRICE REFLECTS IT BEING SOLD IN AS-IS CONDITION. SELLER OFFERS NO WRITTEN, EXPRESSED NOR IMPLIED WARRANTY OR GUARANTEES. BUYER ACCEPTS THIS BY CHOOSING TO BID ON THE VEHICLE. AS NOTED, IT IS A 25 YEAR OLD VEHICLE. AS WITH ANY VEHICLE OF THIS AGE, IT’S LIKELY TO NEED SOME GENERAL REPAIRS AND MAINTENANCE.

As with all of our lien sales, the cars are sold As-Is. I’ve done a walk around and inspection of the vehicle and noted any areas in need of attention that are visible. This one, doesn’t appear to need much at all. However, the seller offers no written, expressed nor implied guarantees or warranty of any kind. I am not a dealer and therefore do not have a pre-certified inspection process. I view the car just as any buyer would when we acquire them.

The car is likely to sell below what many sell for. The discounted price is the benefit to the buyer. The seller will not contribute towards any cost of repairs, maintenance or repairs it may need. The likely reduced price it sells at as a result of NO RESERVE auction is the sellers contribution to the buyer, nothing that it’s likely to sell at well below market value price. With no reserve, it is priced to move quickly in an AS-IS sale.

I’ve included several high-resolution photos to show its condition as well as a link to a full walk-around and startup video.

BUYER AGREES TO HAVING KNOWLEDGE OF THE SELLERS DISCLOSURES NOTED ABOVE REGARDING THE KNOWN ITEMS THAT CURRENTLY NEED ATTENTION. WHILE NOT APPARENT TO THE SELLER, THE BUYER ACCEPTS THAT THERE COULD BE OTHER ISSUES IN NEED OF ATTENTION. THE SELLER HAS NOTED ANY ITEMS THAT WERE ABLE TO BE DETERMINED VIA A WALK-AROUND AND TEST DRIVE OF THE VEHICLE.

THE BUYER ACCEPTS FULL UNDERSTANDING OF THE VEHICLE'S CONDITION AND TAKES FULL RESPONSIBILITY FOR THE VEHICLE UPON TAKING POSSESSION. BUYER FULLY UNDERSTANDS THAT THIS IS A 25 YEAR OLD VEHICLE WITH OVER 110,000 MILES. IT RUNS AND DRIVES GREAT, AND APPEARS TO HAVE AN EXTENSIVE MAINTENANCE HISTORY PER CARFAX, HOWEVER, IT IS NOT A NEW CAR. AS IS TYPICAL OF ANY CAR, IT WILL NEED MAINTENANCE AND REPAIRS OVER TIME. TYPICAL WEAR AND TEAR ITEMS ARE CONSIDERED TO BE A PART OF TYPICAL MAINTENANCE, WHICH THE BUYER ACCEPTS RESPONSIBILITY TO DO AND ACCEPTS THE VEHICLE IN ITS FULLY AS-IS CONDITION BY COMPLETING THE PURCHASE OF THE VEHICLE. AS NOTED PER THE CARFAX REPORT, THE CAR PASSED SMOG IN 2021 AND HAS HARDLY BEEN DRIVEN SINCE. THE BUYER TAKES ON FULL RESPONSIBILITY TO HAVE THE VEHICLE SMOGGED AND ANY OTHER NECESSARY INSPECTIONS OR FEES REQUIRED TO REGISTER AND TITLE THE VEHICLE.

I RECENTLY ACQUIRED THE CAR VIA A LIEN SALE. CAR IS NOW FREE AND CLEAR WITH ALL LOANS / LIENS PAID OFF. As part of the as-is sale, seller will provide the buyer with all paperwork necessary to register and title the vehicle, including documentation that all liens have been satisfied. As with any used car purchase, buyer is responsible for all costs associated with getting the car smogged and registering the car into their own name. All loans / liens are already paid off. If sold to a California buyer, happy to go with you to my local DMV to ensure an easy transaction as I've sold several of these over the past few months. CHECK MY EBAY FEEDBACK. VERY EASY PROCESS. HAVE HAD VERY HAPPY BUYERS AS I DO ALL I CAN TO DISCLOSE ANYTHING AND EVERYTHING IN AN EFFORT TO UNDER-PROMISE AND OVER-DELIVER. I ALSO DO EVERYTHING I CAN TO ASSIST IN MAKING THIS A SMOOTH AND EASY TRANSACTION. I AM FLEXIBLE AND WILL WORK WITH THE BUYER IF DEADLINES CAN'T BE MET PRECISELY, AS LONG AS THE BUYER COMMUNICATES OPENLY WITH ME.

I CAN ASSURE THAT CALIFORNIA AND TEXAS HAVE NO ISSUES WITH LIEN SALE PURCHASES BY THE PUBLIC, HAVING SOLD CARS TO BUYERS IN BOTH STATES AND NEVER HAVING HAD A PROBLEM. SIMPLY DUE TO LACK OF EXPERIENCE SINCE I HAVEN’T SOLD TO BUYERS FROM OTHER STATES, I CANNOT ABSOLUTELY GUARANTEE WHAT THEIR PROCESSES ARE. IF YOU ARE NOT FROM TEXAS OR CALIFORNIA, I WOULD RECOMMEND CHECKING WITH YOUR LOCAL DMV TO ENSURE THAT THEY HAVE NO PROBLEM WITH LIEN SALE PURCHASES. WOULDN’T IMAGINE THAT THEY WOULD, BUT IT IS THE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE BUYER TO BE SURE. THE WORST CASE SCENARIO WOULD BE THAT THEY MAY REQUIRE THE CAR BEING REGISTERED / TITLED IN CALIFORNIA FIRST, THEN TRANSFERRED TO YOUR STATE. THAT IS HIGHLY UNLIKELY AS MOST STATES HAVE SIMILAR RULES.

CAR HAS A CLEAN TITLE HISTORY, CLEAN AND CLEAR TITLE WILL BE ISSUED. NO ACCIDENT HISTORY REPORTED THROUGH CARFAX.

Youtube Video Link…..

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Sm_uooW08U8

PLEASE - ONLY BID IF YOU PLAN TO FOLLOW THROUGH WITH THE PURCHASE. BIDDING IS A BINDING CONTRACT TO BUY THE CAR IF YOU WIN THE AUCTION. FOR A CAR AT THIS VERY LOW PRICE POINT, I CAN'T AFFORD TO WASTE TWO WEEKS IN HAVING TO RELIST AND/OR PAY LISTING FEES AGAIN. I KINDLY ASK THAT BIDDERS SHOW RESPECT AND COMPASSION AND PLEASE ONLY BID IF YOU ARE ABLE TO COMPLETE THE SALE.

$500 DEPOSIT IS DUE WITHIN 12 HOURS OF AUCTION END. REMAINING BALANCE IS DUE, VIA CASH UPON DELIVERY OR WIRE TRANSFER WITHIN 7 DAYS OF AUCTION END (NO CASHIER'S CHECKS). DEPOSIT IS NOT REFUNDABLE UNLESS WE MUTUALLY AGREE TO NOT COMPLETE THE SALE. CHECK MY FEEDBACK. I AM VERY TRANSPARENT. IF YOU'RE NOT HAPPY WITH THE CAR WHEN YOU COME TO PICK IT UP, I WON'T HOLD YOU TO THE SALE AND WILL REFUND THE DEPOSIT. I WANT THE BUYER TO BE HAPPY WITH THEIR PURCHASE. IT IS NOT REFUNDABLE IF YOU WIN THE AUCTION AND SIMPLY CHANGE YOUR MIND OR DIDN'T READ THE DETAILS ABOVE BEFORE BIDDING OR ANY OTHER REASON THAT IS SOLELY DUE TO THE BUYER'S ACTIONS AND NOT OF MY OWN DOING. POINT BEING, PLEASE DON'T BID UNLESS YOU HAVE READ THE LISTING IN ITS ENTIRETY AND ARE READY AND ABLE TO COMPLETE THE SALE IF YOU WIN THE AUCTION. THANK YOU!

BUYER IS RESPONSIBLE FOR PICKING UP THE VEHICLE AND/OR MAKING ARRANGEMENTS TO HAVE IT SHIPPED / TRANSPORTED TO YOUR LOCATION. BUYER IS RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY COSTS ASSOCIATED WITH PICKING UP THE TRUCK OR HAVING IT SHIPPED / TRANSPORTED TO THE BUYER'S LOCATION.

THIS IS AN AS-IS LISTING OF A 25 YEAR OLD VEHICLE WITH OVER 110,000 MILES ON IT. WHILE THE CAR APPEARS TO RUN GREAT AND DRIVE WELL, IT IS FULLY DISCLOSED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS ACQUIRED THROUGH A LIEN SALE TRANSACTION. WHILE THIS IS CONSIDERED TO BE A PRIVATE PARTY SALE, THE SELLER HAS NOT HAD THE CAR INSPECTED BY A MECHANIC TO DETERMINE ANY ISSUES BEYOND WHAT ARE READILY NOTABLE THROUGH A WALK-AROUND AND TEST DRIVE OF THE VEHICLE.

IT IS AN "AS-IS" SALE. THIS IS THE PRIMARY REASON WHY IT IS BEING SOLD IN A NO RESERVE AUCTION AND WILL LIKELY SELL AT WAY BELOW MARKET VALUE. THE VERY LOW PRICE TAKES INTO ACCOUNT THAT IT COULD NEED SOME REPAIRS. AGAIN, THE SELLER HAS DISCLOSED ANY KNOWN ISSUES WITH THE CAR. BASED ON MY OWN PERSONAL OPINION, IT DOESN’T APPEAR TO NEED MUCH, BUT I AM IN NO WAY, A PROFESSIONAL MECHANIC QUALIFIED TO OFFER AN OPINION BEYOND JUST A PERSONAL OPINION.

BUYER ACCEPTS FULL RESPONSIBILITY FOR ANY AND ALL REPAIRS THE CAR MAY NEED. THE SELLER IS NOT AWARE OF ANY OTHER KNOWN ISSUES. AGAIN, THE VERY LOW PRICE IT WILL SELL AT, TAKES INTO ACCOUNT THAT THIS IS A 25 YEAR OLD VEHICLE THAT COULD BE IN NEED OF MAINTENANCE AND POSSIBLY SOME REPAIRS.

CAR WILL ALMOST CERTAINLY SELL FAR LOWER THAN WHAT OTHER SIMILAR CARS ARE SELLING FOR. THAT HUGE PRICE REDUCTION IS THE SELLER’S ONLY ASSISTANCE TOWARD MAINTENANCE OR MAKING ANY REPAIRS NECESSARY. THE SELLER WILL NOT CONTRIBUTE TOWARD ANY REPAIRS ONCE THE SALE IS FINAL, REGARDLESS IF ADDITIONAL ITEMS ARE DISCOVERED.

Location: Northridge, CA
Delivery Method: In-Person

Currently For Sale On Facebook Marketplace |
