I had an idea I wanted to express, and I’m curious what you make of it.<br /> <br /> I’ve had my head down and focused on survival for a while. Tuesday was different, though …<br /> <br /> As I was walking through the park today, I realised there were so many changes to notice:<br /> different bird calls; <br /> people out in brighter clothes, sitting on blankets, enjoying themselves;<br /> warm sun on skin;<br /> cherry blossom, its pale pink and white petals, contrasted against new green life;<br /> at last, a rich brilliant blue sky.<br /> <br /> After weeks of wind, rain, storms, it doesn’t just look different. It feels different. <br /> <br /> Release. A gradual return of warmth. Muscles unclenching after holding on so tight for so long.<br /> <br /> Spring.<br /> <br /> These signs have been all around for a while. Reminders of the passing of winter, the procession of seasons. It got me thinking: <br /> <br /> I wonder what else I’d been holding on to, <br /> <br /> that it’s time now to let go of it —<br /> <br /> and, when I look around, what signs are already here<br /> <br /> to remind me that I’ve moved on.
