In case you haven&#039;t heard, <br /> <br /> It is once again 4-H Camp Time in Tennessee! READ TO THE END FOR A GIVEAWAY! <br /> <br /> We offer a wide variety of camping opportunities that range from specialty camps to our traditional summer camp experiences. We do offer scholarships and fundraising opportunities for our students who would like to attend and I will mention more about that after listing the camps below:<br /> <br /> Junior 4-H Camp: June 24-28 for grades 4-6. This is our traditional summer camp hosted at the Clyde Austin 4-H Center in South Greene. Students arrive on a Monday and stay through Friday morning. We will camp with 4 other county groups. Students have opportunities to fish, canoe, swim in a huge swimming pool with 100-foot slide, experience shooting sports like archery, rifles, and trap shooting, low ropes course, stargazing and astronomy lessons, wildlife exhibits, fossil room exhibits, gaa-gaa ball, basketball, and many other programs. Cost for this camp is $340. <br /> <br /> Junior-High 4-H Camp: July 8-12 for grades 6-8 (6th graders must have attended Junior Camp prior unless you have spoken with Mr. Christian for an exception). This regional camp is open to all East Tennessee Counties. It is also hosted at Clyde Austin 4-H Center and features the same great opportunities mentioned for Junior Camp but with the added bonus of many off-site adventures and events such as an Appalachian-League Baseball game, a choice of an off-site trip to things like canoeing on the Nolachuckey River, Hiking to Margarite Falls, Exploring the Andrew Johnson Home Site and Greeneville Downtown Car museum, hanging out at Brights zoo, or even adventuring in Bays Mountain State Park. This camp is a great step forward for our older campers to get amazing experiences while still getting to experience camp! Full price is $390. <br /> <br /> Target SMART shooting sports camp: May 27-31 (Tentative) for grades 5-9. This camp is a state-level camp that focuses on all the great shooting sports disciplines while also being hosted at one of our many Tennessee 4-H Camps. Students will get to experience all the fun of camp while learning the basics to be proficient in shotguns, air rifles, .22 rifles, archery, and more! Price will be determined soon, please stay in touch to remain in the loop as information becomes available. <br /> <br /> 4-H Electric Camp: June 25-28. This camp is another state level camp that teaches students all about energy, electricity, and other electrical concepts. This camp is hosted on campus at the University of Tennessee Knoxville and costs $335.<br /> <br /> Scholarships:<br /> I tell every student I teach in Greene County the same statement: &quot;Money is not allowed to be the reason you don&#039;t come have a good time at one of our camps&quot;. We work hard to ensure a large pool of scholarship money is available for those in need who have financial barriers to camp. If the maximum scholarship amount still isn&#039;t enough to get you to camp, then we can discuss fundraising opportunities with covering other portions of the payment.
