Just towed a 30 foot car trailer (with a car in it) to Vegas and back from Los Angeles. However, there is an error indicating the &quot;Exhaust Filter Full - Power Reduced. There are other error codes that come up as well. Per a mechanic friend, who did NOT extensively go over the truck, just gave an opinion based on the errors and a quick glance, indicated that it needs Extensive Maintenance. But the reasons for the codes have not been diagnosed. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> We just bought the truck a few months ago. Had planned to use it as a work truck, but ended up buying a brand new one after all. I simply don&#039;t have time to deal with whatever this one needs. As noted above, it runs and drives well, if driven appropriately. Made it to Vegas and back with no problems. Speed was a little slow due to the forced &quot;reduced power&quot;, but the mechanic said once all the extensive maintenance is completed, codes can possibly be cleared.<br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> Truck has 237,000 miles on it, but as most of you know, these diesel engines will go 500,000 miles, generally with few problems. Especially if they are properly maintained. It appears that the prior owner was lazy when it came to recent maintenance. Carfax report shows good maintenance history through 2020. A buyer purchased it in 2023 with just under 230,000 miles, yet listed it just 3 months later. It sold to a dealer 06/2023 with 235,000 miles. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> As I can offer no guarantee&#039;s as to the problem(s), the fact that it runs and drives well leads me to believe that the mechanic who very briefly glanced at it, &quot;MIGHT&quot; be accurate. He did indicate however, that the necessary maintenance needed could be costly. While the truck runs well, even at reduced power, the engine does have blowby, which could be for any number of reasons. Again, I HAVE NOT had the problems diagnosed. As such, it&#039;s best to ASSUME THE WORST AND HOPE FOR THE BEST, that way there are no surprises. Based on the way it runs, chances are, if assuming the worst, you&#039;ll be pleasantly surprised if it does in fact just need extensive maintenance. With the blowby, it could need new rings. Could be a turbo issue creating it as well. Again, have not had it diagnosed completely to know what the problem is, therefore cannot provide that answer. Simply do not have the time to deal with it, thus am offering it to someone willing to repair it. These trucks, with no major issues, are selling in the $23,000 price range. This one, could go as low as HALF PRICE. It&#039;s being offered at HALF PRICE because it has some issues. The fact that it runs and drives well, is a positive sign. If it&#039;s just rings, it will burn some oil, but could potentially be driven for a while before making any repairs. Again, I don&#039;t know what the problem is, therefore, offer no guarantees or warranties, written expressed nor implied or otherwise. This is an AS-IS sale of a 13 year old truck with 237,000 miles on it. <br /> <br /> View the video and photos in detail to see the condition of the truck. Again, it is a 13 year old 237,000 mile vehicle that needs some repairs. The tires have tread, but appear to be quite dated and likely should be replaced. I can&#039;t make it any clearer that it is an AS-IS sale of a 13 year old truck that is going to need repairs. Sadly, some people with no common sense expect to get a truck at half the price and for it to be perfect. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> I am offering it as a NO RESERVE AUCTION. So, whatever the bids get up to is what it will sell for. Wholesale Kelly Blue Book value is over $20,000. That reflects estimated trade-in value if I were to sell it to a dealer. I don&#039;t think you can find one for under $20,000 in this condition. However much below that price that this truck ultimately gets bid up to will be a huge savings that can be applied toward the cost of the necessary repairs / maintenance. <br /> <br /> PRICE REFLECTS IT BEING SOLD IN AS-IS CONDITION. Buyer accepts full responsibility for the vehicle from the date of purchase forward.<br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> The exterior paint has some fading on the upward facing portions of the body, however, the body is almost perfectly straight. Just a few minor dings found that you have to look pretty closely to find. Interior, aside from the center console armrest, which has a little bit of excess wear (see photo), the interior otherwise shows no excess wear. Seats and materials are still in pretty good shape. No major dents or scratches. Tailgate is perfectly straight. This again, does not mean that all other items are perfect. If you go over it with a magnifying glass, you may find some other items that need repair, but other than the items noted above, nothing APPEARS to be out of the ordinary for a vehicle of this age and mileage. There could be other cosmetic items needed. Again, view the photos and video closely. <br /> <br /> Simply for cosmetic reasons, I just replaced the front and rear bumpers as the chrome was looking aged. Also, the headlights were aged as well, so replaced both headlight housings. Neither had any damage, but like the paint on the upward facing surfaces, had some notable wear. Just those two changes helped refresh the look of the truck. In these respects, the truck is superior to most trucks of similar age and mileage as most do not have new bumpers and headlights. <br /> <br /> If the paint is something important to you, can fix that and this thing would look pretty good. Other than the few minor dings, wouldn&#039;t need any actual body work. With the silver paint, the faded areas don&#039;t really stand out like a sore thumb and I assume most wouldn&#039;t do anything about it. The truck still looks good. Again, just do the required maintenance / repairs and it should be a great truck for years and hundreds of thousands of miles to come!<br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> With the necessary maintenance / repairs, this will likely be a great truck for another 200,000+ miles.<br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> I’ve included several high-resolution photos to show its condition as well as a link to a full walk-around and startup video.<br /> <br /> Truck has a clean title. Carfax shows one &quot;MINOR&quot; incident back in 2013 when the truck was just two years old. That was two owners ago. I do not have specific details beyond what Carfax shows, which shows MINOR Left front damage. The truck has been driven another 11 years and some 200,000 miles since then, so apparently there have been no lingering issues from whatever the MINOR damage was 11 years ago. Texas and New Mexico prior to 2023, which is likely where the paint fading came from (hot sun in those states). But, that means unlikely to ever have been in the snow. As noted, these things commonly sell around $23,000. If this sells for half that and needs $2,000 to $5,000 worth of repairs, you&#039;d have a refreshed truck for under $17,000 and could potentially flip it for a profit.
