Just keeping it real over here, it’s not always sunshine, rainbows and lollipops and to be completely honest, it’s been a really tough week.<br /> <br /> Every day has felt like a gradual unraveling, a slow crumbling…<br /> <br /> Struggling, to meet my daughter’s ever changing needs as she is flooded by her emotions. <br /> <br /> Being three is hard, I can see it in her eyes. <br /> How lost she looks at times.<br /> How confused 😢<br /> <br /> Her emotions have been erratic, crying, screaming, shouting, throwing, hitting to laughing all within the same minute. Refusal to get in her car seat, adamant she doesn’t want help and distraught because I didn’t help…<br /> <br /> We’re definitely going through a big development right now and although that offers me some comfort, it doesn’t make it any easier. <br /> <br /> I’ve forgotten to prioritize self-care, ‘ME’ time and nourishment<br /> <br /> By neglecting my own emotional well-being, I’m feeling less than equipped to weather these storms together right now and so I’m doing what I do best…<br /> <br /> Telling myself that I’m a terrible mum and creating my own suffering 😢<br /> <br /> I’m literally trying to serve from an empty cup…my hands…everything has already slipped between the cracks in my fingers, a river that has run itself bone dry 😢<br /> <br /> And even though this is the reality of how I feel, perhaps how most of us feel on those days, we keep on going don’t we, because what’s the alternative? <br /> <br /> There is none. <br /> <br /> We are it 🥹<br /> <br /> And that’s why no matter how hard it feels, <br /> no matter how challenging it gets, I remind myself that<br /> <br /> I A M T H E I R W O R L D<br /> <br /> And when they go to sleep at night, they feel that and so do I. <br /> <br /> We don’t have to have it all together<br /> We don’t need to have all the answers<br /> We just need to be the mum, who’s there <br /> Showing up and just doing her best<br /> <br /> Sending all the mamas love that need it today<br /> Share a ❤️ in comments to acknowledge how damn hard it is…and how blessed we are that we GET to do this. <br /> <br /> Kelly x
