When I was on maternity leave, I was searching for ways to earn online once my maternity payments ended, so I wouldn&#039;t have to go back to work and leave my child in daycare. Joana Witzaney here, from Fort Saskatchewan, Alberta, Canada, originally from Cebu, Philippines. I&#039;ve been in the fast-food industry for 15 years and a casual job in house-keeping.<br /> <br /> Even though my husband has a good-paying job, I didn&#039;t want him to shoulder the responsibilities and obligations alone. As a Filipina, I wanted to support my parents without my husband having to shoulder everything.<br /> Eventually, when my son turned two, I had to go back to work, which was difficult because I didn&#039;t want to leave him with someone else. <br /> <br /> Fast forward to today I&#039;m proud to say that I am a digital business owner. I may not have looked back twice in 2019, but I am here now. Excited and ready to learn and earn while being at home with my son. What pushed me towards this business even more was when my husband fell ill last year. It was an incredibly tough year for us, and it made me realize that our time on this planet is not in our hands.
